Eternithaus - a cc-free lot for Oasis Springs

When I was working on Baumgarten Estates I looked into other buildings the architect Paul Baumgarten did and found this gem (2), which I accidentally stumbled across during my visit to Berlin last October. Of course, I had to recreate it in the Sims and I am so happy with the result. It certainly looks different from the original, but it's a gorgeous mid-century house that fits quite perfectly into Oasis Springs.

Eternithaus is a 30x20 unfurnished lot placed in the Mirage Canyon neighbourhood of Oasis Springs, specifically on the Futures Past museum lot. It is designed as a residential rental lot, but I've uploaded it as a normal residential building to the gallery, in case you're not actively playing with the For Rent pack/gameplay yet.

It has a total of 4 rental units, which are all on the smaller side, perfect for a couple without children or a single sim.

Uses items from the following packs: For Rent, High School Years, Snowy Escape, Eco Lifestyle, Discover University, Island Living, Get Famous, Cats and Dogs, City Living, Get To Work, Werewolves, Strangerville, Jungle Adventure, Dine Out, Spa Day, Tiny Living & Desert Luxe.

the sheer amount of cc i know i'm missing out on is driving me up a wall :')

Should I be allowed to include Sims 2 Store/preorder/exchange content in Calcinidae Bay

There are several reasons why I'm keeping Calcinidae Bay CC-free but first and foremost it's to see "how far can I get with only TS2 Maxis content?" and so there's always this nagging voice in the back of my head saying "but this is TS2 Maxis content".

Lots that I share will remain CC-free, and I'm not including Stories conversions. Only things made by EA, for TS2.

#I keep writing up really long nerdy posts that are only relevant to me about the pros/cons for it #but most people play with this content already bc it's included in the modern installer #and if I'm already keeping it in my game forever bc it's Maxis stuff I feel like I should try and get the most use out of it #because otherwise I'm keeping stuff in my DL folder just for one or two uses. Or to never be used at all #which is the exact opposite reason of why I have this low-CC rule in the first place (to avoid CC creep + bloat)#plus a lot of these objects are either made to complement existing stuff or to fill needs that aren't met by the game content #so it just feels silly! to feel like there's a missing piece and to see it RIGHT THERE in my catalogue but not be allowed to use it!!#and half the lots I make in Calcinidae Bay aren't for anyone but myself in the first place #but there is this persistent voice that keeps saying 'but then it's not CC-free. and then what's the point'#well the point is to try and stretch the limits of The Sims 2!! And I feel like this bonus content is included in that definition!!#It does feel a little silly to be using tools like the Lot Adjuster and Shiftable Everything and SimPE #to make stuff that the average Sims 2 player back then would either not have known how to use or wouldn't have had access to #but then I'm like 'A giraffe plush that players got in the early 2000s for free with their physical CD? verboten'

i did say i was gonna complete the gang ... so here’s my take on velma! probably my most favorite member of the mystery inc lol. i did my best to get her personality with the packs i have, but she’s a perceptive genius who loves books and being neat. i didn’t get to plan her wardrobe but i got her iconic costume ( which is all base game )!

#i put them in veronaville bc that seemed appropriate #my alex sim looks way more like themself than mc does #i would make mc into my self insert or an oc but i see her so much as her own character i have very little influence on #i named her ally tho #which i just realized could be construed as a pun #not intended #but anyways i need to get some cc for them #sims 2 somehow has alex's exact hair and then nothing for mc lol #and i know theres an androgynous body mod which i want to dl for obvious reasons #but theyre both v cute and i think they look like themselves #i spent so much time making them sjdjdjdj i was like if mc doesnt have two rings its not worth it #alexs outfits are so hit or miss #like their underwear which is literally a cropped black tanktop and shorts (looks like their binder in game)#and then i couldnt find anything formal for them #there was like a magicians outfit which looked fine on top but the bottom was a leotard with tights sjdhdjdhj #literally everything else was dresses so i picked one of those #but i do want to find them a cute vest and slacks #that combo is just so alex #i know if i played ts4 i could make them a lot more accurate #but.#then id have to play ts4 dkfbdhdhdh #alex is way too romantic for the boring actions of ts4 😭😭😭
