✧⧗✧⧗ Es increíble lo diferente que parece el mundo cuando eres tú quien lo maneja. No me refiero al mundo entero, por supuesto, sólo al que existe dentro de la linterna. Ahora, en lugar de criticar (que solía hacerlo mucho), tengo que ser realmente responsable. Creo que mi primera decisión será volver a mi aspecto de sombra original, porque quiero que mi no-vida cambie de dentro a fuera, no de fuera a dentro.

✧⧗✧⧗✧⧗⧗ Creo que aún tengo mucho que aprender sobre ser una genio; sobre todo porque cuando estaba "siguiendo de cerca" a Gigi, no presté mucha atención a las cosas que me contaba sobre el trabajo. Creo que mis celos me hicieron hacer oídos sordos a todo menos a lo que yo quería. Así que ahora tengo que ponerme al corriente. Menos mal que hay un libro de instrucciones, y aún mejor que tengo mucho tiempo libre, ya que se trata de un conjunto de cinco mil volúmenes. Al menos es interesante... bueno, la mayor parte. Las secciones legales y de advertencias están llenas de letra pequeña que estoy segura haría que cualquier monstruo que necesitara dormir (yo no) se quedara completamente dormido. Algo que he aprendido hoy, y que ya debería haber sabido, es que el número de deseos que puede conceder un genio depende del número de años que lleve sirviendo a la linterna. Para empezar, sólo se me permiten tres. Espero que quien me encuentre no se sienta estafado. Hmmm... Me pregunto si debería decir: "Sólo tienes tres, no los desperdicies". Bueno, el próximo volumen parece estar lleno de cosas que un genio puede y no puede decir, así que supongo que lo averiguaré. Sólo espero que no esté en la letra pequeña.

✫⧗⧗ Hay un reloj y un calendario en la pared de un pequeño almacén en el sótano del palacio de la linterna. Es el único lugar dentro de la linterna donde se registra el paso del tiempo. Yo solía ir allí cuando era una sombra y veía pasar el tiempo cuando Gigi estaba fuera concediendo deseos. Al principio me parecía fascinante, pero con el tiempo mi fascinación se convirtió en resentimiento al ver pasar las horas y los días mientras Gigi estaba fuera viendo el mundo. Una vez, cuando se fue, me enfadé tanto que arranqué el reloj y el calendario de la pared y los destruí. No puedo creer que fuera tan.... malcriada. Pensé que así Gigi se sentiría mal por no haberme llevado con ella cuando se fue, pero cuando Gigi volvió y la llevé a la habitación para que pudiera alardear de lo que había hecho, el reloj y el calendario estaban como si nunca los hubiera tocado. Me quedé con cara de tonta y me sentí peor. Gigi me contó amablemente que el reloj y el calendario solían estar en su habitación, pero que los había trasladado al sótano porque le hacía sentirse sola ver pasar el tiempo. Dijo que formaban parte de la linterna y que, aunque se podían mover, no se podían destruir. Creo que fue entonces cuando me di cuenta de que yo también formaba parte de la linterna y empecé a preguntarme si algún día Gigi también me encerraría a mí. Empecé a conspirar para derrocarla, apoderarme de la linterna y luego del mundo. Gigi, por supuesto, nunca me habría hecho eso, pero supongo que eso demuestra lo mucho que sabe una sombra...

✧✫⧗ Voy por el tomo 1,753. Este volumen podría titularse "Cuando los Deseos Salen Mal", y en él encontré una historia sobre los peligros de los deseos hechos con ira llamada La Princesa y el Capitán. Trata de una reina vampiro que utiliza su último deseo para castigar a su hija menor, que se ha enamorado del capitán de la guardia, un plebeyo. A la reina, cuya palabra es ley y no tolera que se cuestione, le disgustan sus afectos y les prohíbe estar juntos jamás. La princesa argumenta que el capitán es su único y verdadero amor, pero la reina no se inmuta y no sólo despoja al capitán de su rango, sino que amenaza con desterrarlo del reino para siempre. Así que la princesa acepta renunciar al amor de su vida... y, por supuesto, eso no dura mucho. Pronto son descubiertos y llevados a la sala del trono. Ahora la ira de la reina era grande y ordenó que le trajeran la lámpara de su genio. Era el más viejo y sabio de todos los genios y llevaba mil años al servicio de la reina. "Obedientes para siempre, separados para siempre", dijo el djinni y, con esas últimas palabras, tanto él como las linternas desaparecieron. El resto de la historia cuenta cómo la reina vampiro, llena de remordimientos, abandona el trono y se pasa la vida buscando la linterna de su hija. Sin embargo, hay dos notas a pie de página al final de la historia. La primera dice,Aunque cualquier genio lo suficientemente viejo y poderoso como para haber acumulado 100 deseos podría haber cumplido la "voluntad del deseo" convirtiendo a la princesa y al capitán en genios, el deseo de la reina nunca especifica a quién deben obedecer o de quién deben separarse; por lo tanto, es igual de probable que la princesa y el capitán de la guardia fueran hechos obedientes para siempre al amor del otro, y separados para siempre de la propia reina. La segunda nota a pie de página dice, Sin embargo, si la princesa y el capitán se convirtieron en genios, entonces es probable que la propia reina siga buscando, porque no se puede encontrar una linterna. 7 de Julio Hoy han encontrado mi lámpara y me han invocado por primera vez. Pensaba que estaría preparada cuando ocurriera, pero me ha tomado completamente por sorpresa. De hecho, acababa de recogerme el pelo con una toalla y me disponía a aplicarme una mascarilla de belleza cuando una voz retumbó en el interior del farolillo: "¡Has sido convocada!". Es un vampiro... de algún tipo... y por su ropa parece que ha visto días mejores. 8 de Julio "¡Has sido convocada!" Creía que lo había arreglado, pero ahora la voz suena como la de un zombi que habla como bebé, así que en lugar de siniestra es simplemente irritante. Y lo que es más importante, por fin he podido hablar con el monstruo que está en posesión de mi lámpara. Se llama Kieran Valentine y, al igual que yo, intenta que su presente y su futuro no estén marcados por su pasado. Hablamos durante horas y creo que, incluso sin desearlo, he encontrado un amigo. Fue bueno poder hablar de lo que cada uno había hecho en el pasado y no sentirnos condenados. Creo que en el futuro nos ayudará saber que ambos nos animaremos mutuamente para tener éxito. Hablando de deseos, él todavía no ha pedido ninguno... pero no me molesta.

10 de Julio "¡Has sido convocada!" ¡Ack! No, salgo disparada de la lámpara como un cantante de ópera. Puede que no haya aprendido todo lo que debería de Gigi, pero a lo que sí presté mucha atención fue al funcionamiento de los deseos. Cuando un genio concede un deseo, se libera una fuerza: una fuerza tan poderosa que puede rehacer el tejido mismo de la realidad para cumplir su propósito. También es una fuerza que necesita instrucciones específicas o, de lo contrario, interpretará lo que has deseado, y a veces los resultados se pierden en la traducción. Lamentablemente, no se me permite dar pistas o instruir a los monstruos sobre cómo o qué deben desear. No es que no quiera, es que físicamente no puedo. Gigi me contó una vez que intentó decirle a un monstruo cómo formular un deseo y su boca se cerró literalmente y no se abrió hasta que el deseo fue concedido. Así que, dicho todo esto, sabía que el primer deseo de KV no iba a salir como él esperaba. Me alegro de que le quedara un "deseo de rescate", si no hubiese sido así...

12 de Julio Me siento mal por KV. Ya ha gastado dos de sus tres deseos y no ha conseguido nada. Intenté decirle cuánto lo sentía, pero ni siquiera me escuchó. Incluso me dijo que era culpa suya y que yo no tenía nada que lamentar. Espero que piense bien su último deseo. 1 de Agosto "¡Has sido convocada!" Ooh, me gusta esta versión. Sonaba como si me estuvieran llamando a la puerta para reunirme con un viejo amigo. La usaré. KV hizo su último deseo hoy. Deseó que siempre pudiéramos ser amigos. Creo que se habría hecho realidad independientemente de que lo hubiera deseado o no, pero me pareció muy desinteresado por su parte utilizar su último deseo de esa manera. No sabía exactamente cómo se iba a cumplir hasta que tuve en mis manos mi propio iCoffin con el número de KV programado en él. Lo mejor, pensaba, ¡era que tenía señal en todos los sitios a los que iba dentro de la lámpara! Poder tener un amigo con el que hablar incluso cuando estoy dentro ella es mucho más de lo que incluso yo podría haber deseado.

Alot and most of people don't realise that narcissist aren't mentally okay and are just like that naturally

Which can be the case for some but it can also be a trauma response or PTSD in many cases.

So taking that into consideration, Kieran Valentine being a narcissist was a thing back in his showing of wdgfil and he probably saw a psychotherapist to help him with his problems. ( that's one hell of a therapist )

Spelldon has probably helped him in many ways as well, hell he might even be a safe space for Val to tell his feelings to until he sees his therapist. ( Whisp pushed him to even see a therapist in the first place because he was down in the dumps in general and needed mental guidance.)

I need people to understand that narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) is a mental disorder and is just as valid as the other disorders out there.

How do you feel about the pride comic so far? :D

I actually hadn't sat down to read it until I got this ask, but the snippets I'd seen were ADORABLE. I'm writing this as I read it for the first time:

pg. 1: "Hypnosis was so much easier" HE WOULD! And him rehearsing with Whisp is so sweet. I love that they tied her and their friendship into the story more; I kind of thought she was done for good. Valentine hitting his face on the locker is SUCH a diary thing, too. I don't know if it was meant to be a callback or anything, but that's what it reminded me of. And Whisp saying "good luck!" while Kier is half-dead on the floor is PRICELESS. I love that he's still trying to make amends with Drac though.

pg. 2: Him blurting everything at once and then stopping to be all ✨composed✨ is perfect. UGH but the accent. Kieran, dear, she knows you're Romanian. I like the call back, though, and if you really look into it, it's a reflex because he's embarrassed and panicked. I LOVE the cut between him saying "it's fine" and him absolutely panicking, all zoned-out. It's such a simple thing that's meant to be comedic but it really shows us how he thinks and how vulnerable he is in a world without his prestige.

pg. 3 BIG SPELLDON REVEAL DUN DUN DUUUUUN!!! I love the small details of his character design that bring him to life, like the rings on his fingers and the mole on his lip. and the necklaces <3. Valentine IMMEDIATELY crumpling the paper in his big dramatic moment is so silly. And spelldon ignoring it and just taking a rose. It's such an easy, domestic kind of moment. And they're both so pretty ugh the close ups. "Like my soul" ok princess val 🙄 and spelldon worried, "You still love draculaura?" I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SPELLDON CAULDRONELLO

pg. 4: the moment of realization is priceless. Kieran is just in awe of this man. and Spelldon is just so enthusiastic about it (I love how he's just like 'this is dumb' but goes along with it anyway. Okay mr. malicious compliance). The height difference is also perfect to me. It makes sense that Spelldon is way taller because he's part (like 70% ish if I remember right from that time I did a pedigree) god. Casta's tall too isn't she? Valentine lost in his own little world ❤️ my little yapper.

pg. 5: Valentine trying to be over prepared, he's so me. And it's a nice (probably unintentional) callback to his diary where he says "better have it and not need it than need it and not have it." Spelldon's blunt humor is one of my favorite things ever. And him flattering Kieran about biteology >>> ugh they're so sweet. Val's facial expressions are so funny too he's so dramatic. Him trying to be humble and change the subject when Spelldon compliments him is so cute. AAAA they're so sweet.

pg. 6: Spelldon being all nonchalant while Val is literally falling over is so them. That is such a fun dynamic for them to have and I love it so much. I don't even know how to describe or "analyze" it because it just feels so naturally them that there's nothing to point out as "unusual." AAA Spelldon catching Val is such a sweet moment in the comic. Poor Val has his eyes closed, he can't even see Spell's face when it happens. And his hand is HOVERING over Val's back; he's not even touching him and he's blushing like that. I don't even think I need to mention the smirks (they're so precious)(Spells had an eyebrow slit this whole time and I just didn't see it??😭)

pg. 7: EEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAA Val you're going to give poor Spelldon a heart attack leave him alone. He's so dramatic clasping his hands like that. The mausoleum is really cute though, I approve. If I were a vengeful ghost, this would be my haunt (get it?). Spelldon having this whole plan thought out to get the ingredients when he's the one who thought it was a useless plan to start with 🤨 okay Spelldon we all see what you're doing. Especially since the whole plan is to get Val clinging to him. Scarah to the rescue!!! Not the return of the accent val STOP PLEASE. I'm glad they're talking about it, though. And he doesn't do it to spelldon 👀 because he's being himself with spelldon and doesn't feel the outside pressures to be someone else. He subconsciously knows that spelldon will accept who he is. Spelldon's face when Val admits that is priceless. BUT SPELLDON NOOOOOO WATCH OUT!

pg. 8: Val regretting the potion because he's in loooooove is so cute to see. "A couple thousand years" you want to spend a couple thousand years with your feelings for Spelldon awww. And he doesn't even act like he needs them to be reciprocated. Like, duh we all know what he's doing, but he never spells (pun unintentional but fully embraced) it out. The bracelet too from the Val's rose is a sweet little detail. Especially since they chose to give us THAT angle for that panel. They wanted us to see that in this moment. Valentine voicing his development is perfect. He really has grown and learned so much. SPELLDON WHAT?????? NOOOOO! and Val immediately regretting this whole thing because oh nooo Spelldon won't love him (🤨)

pg. 9: Okay Spelldon you trickster. "You really think i'd let you excise your emotions like that" (okay mom) "Yes? I asked you to!" Bro. That's super sweet though, he's been looking out for him this whole time, but couldn't just tell him no. Awww he wanted to spend time with him. AWWW VAL. I'm surprised Val didn't feel the love but maybe i've been reading his powers wrong. And then we have The Moment™ of course. Aww

pg. 10: Aw he and Drac made up. I'm glad they got closure from everything (the Pit Incident... and everything beforehand). WOAH val is so pretty, that turning panel??? Spelldon watching silently from the sidelines all proud. We have to remember that he met Spelldon BEFORE Whisp (and long before the two of them had their makeshift therapy sessions), and the day of the dance (where he failed his attempt to fix everything) from the original comics. He was still a mess then. He has been here since then, and got to see him grow. KIERAN VALENTINE FULL NAME RAHHHH COME OUT YE BLACK AND TANS COME OUT AND FIGHT ME LIKE A MAN🇮🇪💪i'm glad they're pushing that because so many people think Valentine is his full name, it's actually crazy. Whisp wanting to meet Spelldon 👀 I need to see that now too! And Val ignoring her to hold Spelldon's hands, he's so clingy. I guess he has been this entire time with his yapping. And they walk into the sunset!!!

I don't know if I wrote WAYYY too much, but I wanted to make sure I gave my full reaction (because lets face it, we've been starved for a while. thats why I got into fanfic like three-ish years ago). The notes got progressively longer as I went 😭

All in all I absolutely adore the comic. It's such a sweet glimpse into Valentine's growth and development, and I'm so glad to finally have a real Spelldon. The entire thing is such a good slice-of-life story that just feels calm and domestic and unforced, like there is no antagonist or unneeded tension to force things along. It's just Spell and Val.

So I just got the Monster High Pride Comic after waiting so long! And boy was it worth the wait. But I DO have some things to say about it and note this is not to shame or disrespect anything whatsoever.

Here we go:

A side (Toradeen)

I'm gonna be upfront: Obviously this is G3 Toradeen covered in G1 skin. Don't get me wrong, it's cute and interesting chemistry while keeping some character in for both Clawdeen and Toralei. But... how did the story introduce a new MH cute side couple while failing to tell us HOW the main story couple got together?

I had to read this side a few times because while I was disappointed of the lack explanation, it was good to see a few things. I'm glad it had the side story of Ghoulia writing 'Fangfiction' (I almost forgot about the lexicon, dear god!), Howleen's OG look, A GLIMPSE of Clawdeen's dad and a few of the ghouls. Jackie and Bridgette are very cute as well giving some more representationfor MH.

The only thing was bad was the lack of BG or showing us how Toralei and Clawdeen would be in the same room of each other, let alone date. Cause these two were at each other's throats before in the series and boovies so... yeah. The next comic I hope they explain that.

B Side (Spellentine)

Maybe I'm biased, but I was anticipating this side of the comic more. First of all, I've been waiting for almost a decade to finally see the mysterious Spelldon! And I knew based on Val's diary they were gonna be a great new ship and I was SO glad to be right! I like the flow of this story well of how it shows regarding building romance and even trying to repair friendships.

The only tidbit would be the misleading thing of Draculaura refusing to accept Val's apology, though it IS understandable. But yeah, she was making excuses to not fang out with him. But I'm glad in the end they both decided to take their time. Val has a new 'friend' to pay attention to anyway :)

The bonus was that NOBODY TOLD ME WHISP WAS GONNA BE IN THE COMIC!!! It made me VERY HAPPY and she's portrayed as I expected her to be! (can you tell 13 wishes in my favorite boovie yet?). I guarantee you she will wingwoman the hell out of these two.

Overall, this comic was a pretty good read and well worth the wait. I'm curious as to see what IDW will do with the Monster High franchise from now on for the "New Scaremester."

Do you think spelldon and Whisp change forms when they go to school?

Like spelldon is related to Circe and she's a goddess, who are known for being freakishly tall so he would probably need to change into a form more comfortable to be around. In certain books, gods have two voices and I think two forms of which they let others see. Other gods/eases vs humans basically

Whisp is Whisp if you watched 13 wishes you know what I mean

So that makes Valentine the shortest because he's just a vampire ( depending on your hc vs cannon) so I don't think he can just change his height and size like they can ( bros the runt of the group poor guy)

i just had a thought,

in the 13 wishes movie, Gigi said that she cannot get the ghouls (frankie, drac, ghoulia) inside the lantern, only out of it. when they were inside the lantern, they were replaced with a shadow version of themselves in the real world

does that mean if Valentine went inside Whisp's lantern, there would be a shadow version of himself in the real world?? what would his shadow self be like?? maybe similar to his 'heartbreaker' persona but more manipulative and mean?

but then again, the finder would have to wish for Valentine to 'disappear' because Whisp can't get Val inside.

wait since Whisp is technically 'real', does that mean the finder can wish for Whisp's shadow to become sentient? like whisp 2.0

i just really wanna see shadow Valentine i think it'll be so fun
