Pietro Maximoff Headcanon:
He visits his nephews (especially Tommy) twice a week at a small coffee shop in New York.
He meets every Thursday (if there is no villain or end of the world) in the afternoon hours with Kate, Clint and Tommy for "Speedsters and their Archers", a name coined by Tommy, Kate liked it (Clint and Pietro think it is an accurate name but they fervently deny it.
He gets along very well with Viv, so much so that he has become her favorite niece.
He visits or communicates with Vision whenever he can, he likes to be aware of what is happening in the life of his beloved ex-brother-in-law.
Lorna always calls him at night around 11 pm, Pietro got used to this during his days in X-factor so every night he waits for his little sister's calls.
Whenever he can he buys flowers and takes them to Wanda and Darcy's store.
Every two weeks Luna stays for 3 days at his house to spend time with him.
During Luna's time At home he talks about Django, so much so that Luna has started saying "O phuro Django" when she tells Crystal about her conversations with her father.
As a child he was a total mama's boy, Marya would sing to him and kiss his forehead so he could go to sleep.
Django instilled in him that he should always be on his sister's side, that they are twin brothers and that meant they should take care of each other.
At first he had trouble understanding the whole truth about his birth, which changed when Never Queen appeared.
He loves watching baseball games with Steve.
When he gets angry his accent becomes very noticeable.
He loves spending time with Janet and Hank Pym, he thinks it's very relaxing to talk to them or listen to them ramble on about any subject.

Would Wanda & Pietro have been homeschooled by Marya & Django?
Possibly, but I can't really attest to what that would look like. Homeschooling, at least in modern America, still involves, like, textbooks and stuff. Education inequality for Roma is a serious issue, and we know that the Maximoffs were extremely poor, so they probably wouldn't have had access to those resources.
In looking back on Wanda and Pietro's childhood, I'm reminded of Peter David's racist remarks about Romani families, which were made at NYCC '16 in response to a question from Roma activist Vicente Rodriguez, regarding David's work with Romani characters like Quicksilver. David invoked an unfortunately common narrative about Romani culture-- that our children are routinely abused, kept out of schools, forced to work or beg at a young age, and pressured into early marriages. These are social issues that have more to do with poverty, segregation, and discrimination than actual Romani cultural values, but it has been very convenient for a very long time for racists to place the blame on us while obscuring the true history of our systemic oppression. This is a fundamental device of anti-romani rhetoric.
I'm bringing this up because I think a lot of people, whether they realize it or not, have internalized this view of Romani culture. While many traditional communities may seem closed off or insular, I think that the relationship between Roma and outside culture is misunderstood. Families like this don't want to stifle or harm their children, and it's not like we're behind the times-- we have feminism and other social movements. But it's hard for that kind of change and growth to take root in communities that are deeply oppressed, ghettoized, and routinely displaced. This is a documented issue, and you can see the same thing play out across race and poverty lines in America.
So, I feel very strongly that characters like Django and Marya can be used to combat this prevailing, harmful narrative. When we see families like the Maximoffs, I want to really emphasize the fact that these are people who would do everything in their power to protect their children and give them a happy childhood. Same thing goes for the von Dooms, and even Margali when she's at her best. Maybe they didn't have the means to give Wanda and Pietro an education, but I believe that Marya and Django gave them as many opportunities as they could afford to learn, and play, and grow, and I think that's why they grew up to become the intelligent, studious people we know them as today.

Ah, in what sense is Magneto Wanda's "true father", she said this in response to Loki's comment about Laufey who is his biological father. Fine, I understand if writers want to pretend Magneto still occupies the birth father spot, I prefer that anyway.
But the next line gets into erasure territory, Loki talked about Odin, his adoptive father who raised him, but Wanda still kept talking about Magneto, instead of you know? Django? Who is a better paralell to Odin?
It's a such low hanging fruit for this convo where Loki talks about his two fathers from two worlds, but Wanda cannot think of any parent figure other than Magneto, wow, just wow.(It also doesn't help Magneto is called her "adoptive father" in this issue, again.)
Also Loki mentioned the whole Chthon thing, and it still didn't ring a bell for Wanda, Django fucking died trying to save her from Chthon, that should mean something to her, people in her life should matter, not fucking ignored because the other character is more popular and shiny.
The AXIS retcon and Marvel's backpeddling made Magneto the only father figure that mattered in her life, they had to pretend the retcon didn't happen so he is functionally her biological dad anyway, but they also cannot straight up break continuity so he is also her adoptive dad, resulting in some rather blatant erasure.

This is not an idea but just current continuity/facts.
With the current parentage for Pietro & Wanda Maximoff, we have told about a one per generation taking up/becoming a Scarlet title magic user, in the Maximoff bloodline. With also the reveal of their step-father Django also being their uncle, it seems like the Maximoffs have a magic bloodline, like the Minoru from Runaways.
Luna Maximoff is the only one of Maximoff blood, for the next generation.
Side note, the Inhumans haven't really had a magic user.
I need a Marvel writer to join my ‘Let Pietro Spend Time With His Daughter’ crusade. I’m broke, but I could knit you a real nice hat.
Plus, just more Luna in general. She’s going to grow up to be badass and tough as hell and I would like to see it.
All-New X-Factor. Peter David. 2014.

I remember, when Django reappeared in that One Avengers Arc right before they killed him off for real, he was revealed to have magical power of his own? And then I don't recall it ever being brought up again.
Are we meant to assume post-Natalya reveal that both Maximoff siblings inherit magic, and that Pietro's and Tommy's might have manifested more like Django's instead of super speed if the High Evolutionary hadn't intervened?
Yes, in Avengers #181-188, Django demonstrates magical abilities, which are mostly attributed to the items and materials he uses-- wood from Mount Wundagore, which he uses to create enchanted puppets, and an artifact called the "nivashi stone." In flashbacks, we see that Django acted as a shaman in the Maximoff family's Romani community. Magic was apparently commonplace in this community, and the nivashi stone was used to cast spells. It should go without saying that these are total fabrications which have nothing to do with actual Romani culture. These specific magical elements haven't been brought up since Django's death, and we don't see them in other flashbacks or retellings of the twins' upbringing-- which, if you ask me, is probably for the best.
In Scarlet Witch (2016), Wanda learns that her birth mother, Natalya, was Django's sister. Natalya was a witch, and magic, specifically witchcraft, is a hereditary gift that's been in the Maximoff family for generations. Django might not have been on his sister's level, but Marya, his wife, acknowledges that he had "a touch of the craft," as well, and claims that his power was more than just the magical wood he used to make his dolls.
So Django definitely had magic powers, and in the current canon, this is attributed to the Scarlet Witch lineage. And while I don't think we necessarily need to revist that "shaman" stuff from Avengers, I think this context could be used to reframe those flashbacks in a way that, while not perfect, would certainly be less problematic.
Elsewhere in Scarlet Witch, we learn that the Evolutionary abducted and experimented on Wanda and Pietro specifically because they were a witch's children, and therefore, may have inherited their mother's power. We know Wanda did, but it's never outright stated whether or not Pietro was born with magical potential. Logically, though, based on what we know about Natalya and Django, I think it's a valid assumption. And while I don't usually like to engage in this sort of speculation, I think it's worth noting that Pietro's held his own in a fair number of magical and esoteric situations-- his possession in Mighty Avengers and all of the weird energy stuff in Quicksilver: No Surrender are more recent examples, but in Avengers #187, Pietro was one who used Django's magic puppet, with support from the other Avengers, to trap Chthon and restore Wanda's soul to her body.
So, while it's not technically canon, I've always personally assumed that Pietro is just as capable of magic as his uncle-- and I don't think that his artificial mutation would necessarily negate or diminish that. Wanda's various powers are all sort of entangled, but in SW (2016), I think you can take it as read that her affinity for witchcraft and the power of the her lineage still stand on their own. There's no reason for Pietro's speed power would interfere with any latent magical ability. I don't think there's any point in making him a spellcaster, but reframing his power as the product of both "science and sorcery," as Wanda has often been described, would have support their synergy and the expansive potential in the current run quite nicely. For some reason, Orlando chose to partition their powers-- Wanda gets all the magic, Pietro gets all the science, or physics-- and it's one of the only things I didn't like about that storyline. We were so close to finally, perfectly balancing them out.
As for Billy and Tommy-- same deal. They've Maximoffs, and Wanda's children, in every way that counts. Billy, as I'm concerned, is next in line for the Scarlet Witch title. Wherever Pietro falls in that spectrum, Tommy should be the same.
