I was looking into where COP is going it be hosted because it can tie in to earthshot, and of course Brazil is next year. COP31 (2026) is likely to be in Australia which is also a strong contender for earthshot, India is bidding for COP33 in 2028….
My reasoning on a potential Indian Earthshot is below this.
India better stay away from cop33 & Earthshot, especially after their latest 'achievements' in the conservation sector. The govt is fantastic in making bold claims but in reality, can't do shit. And I for one don't want william anywhere near that dumpster fire of hypocrites.
There's so many examples of their sheer incompetence, there's a polluted river in india - yamuna. Between 2017 - 2021 (or 22) I believe more than ₹6,800 crores of taxpayer money was spent on cleaning that death trap and it still is as dirty as it was when all this first began. There's actual toxic foam of ammonia and phosphates that floats around it 24/7.
Then just this week news came out that 25 Tigers, (which are an endangered species btw and also part of a very ambitious conservation project 'Project Tiger' started in 1973) have been untraceable from a state run national park for the past year. The only reason this came out was because another tiger was found dead from that forest.
And just yesterday, it came out that 10 elephants died in another state run park last month because they were fed...fungal infected millets.
Heck, Delhi? The capital? It's consistently been one of the most polluted cities of the world for years. It's a literal gas chamber, which gets the worst around the current time coz of various issues. Now diwali falls around this time and because of the air quality, the Indian supreme court banned any sort of crackers/fireworks to be burnt in the area? Sounds amazing right? But guess what since crackers have come to be associated with Diwali which is a hindu festival. So the members of the ruling party within their agenda have turned this ban into an attack on religion and consistently provoke their supporters on this ground urging them to burn crackers and make delhi insufferable for all.
This is just 4 examples, there's so many that if I start listing them, we'll be here for a long time.
Moreover, the current ruling party will only twist the visit to fill into their own agenda of hate mongering & political capital as they have been known to do with every such visit.
Also the govt quite literally cordoned off low income neighborhoods that fell on route of the attendees in Delhi with plastic barriers and police personnel during the G20 in 2023, to make sure no world leader saw anything other than the rosy picture they were putting out.
Now imagine what would happen in case of something like COP33. Ofc they would do similar repulsive things then also and imagine how harmful being attached to something like this with a potential Earthshot will be for William and his public image!
I would love for him to come here, Earthshot is such a fabulous initiative, and there's such a booming environmental startup sector in India like Phool (I personally am aware of their situation. My mum's cousin runs a marketing firm and she's the one who handles everything for them, and she's told me so much about how Earthshot has helped them since 2022 with linking them to investors, other similar businesses, exposure etc) or Kheyti etc etc which deserve to be highlighted.
But in the past 10 years buisness and government have become so intrinsically linked in india that no matter what the ruling party will hijack the contributions of these organizations like they do.
So yeah maybe I'm being a narrow minded idiot but Earthshot in India rn? Will only lead to credibility issues.
Now let's hope I don't go to jail for putting all this here by exercising my fundamental right under Article 19(1)(a).

Sustainable and Luxurious: The Evolving Candle Market Landscape
The global candle market size is estimated to reach USD 20.10 billion by 2030, registering to grow at a CAGR of 6.4% from 2025 to 2030 according to a new report by Grand View Research, Inc. The rise in wellness tourism and the resurgent hospitality industry globally will contribute to product demand over the forecast years. Candles are widely used in hotels, spas, and restaurants. Therefore, a rise in the number of spas, hotels, and restaurants will drive the growth of the industry. Moreover, restaurant aesthetics, including bathrooms, have become an integral part of the customer experience. Candles and scents are an essential part of any restaurant’s sensory experience.
It is very important for restaurants to understand which scented candle fragrance will suit their ambiance. Fruity or floral candles add freshness to restaurant washrooms, while scents, such as vanilla, can add a homey vibe to a restaurant setup. Downtown NYC restaurant Dimes makes its own candles, providing a luxurious experience for its patrons and strengthening its brand presence. In addition, candles are an important part of festivals, such as Diwali and Christmas, as well as used for many special occasions. Moreover, votive candles are used in religious places, such as churches, as their burn time is 5-7 hours. They are made of paraffin or soy wax and available in small sizes, along with a glass holder.
According to a 2019 study by the National Candle Association (NCA), customers in the U.S. viewed candles as an appropriate gift for holidays (76%), a dinner party (66%), a housewarming (74%), a thank you (61%), and birthdays (58%).In addition, the industry has several growth opportunities since consumers are receptive to innovative products. Moreover, growing consumer awareness regarding eco-friendly products is favoring industry growth. Candle manufacturers are launching new product lines and some of them are made from all-natural eco-friendly raw materials. Manufacturers are investing more money in natural raw materials to produce pollution-free candles.
The North America region is anticipated to dominate the global industry during the forecast period. Rapid construction in the commercial segment, particularly in the hospitality sector, is driving the growth of hotels in the U.S. The hospitality industry is a major contributor to the market growth in this region. For instance, according to a report released by Lodging Econometrics (LE), in 2022, over 1,911 projects/223,030 rooms, were up 2% by projects and 3% by rooms YOY. Projects and rooms in early planning reached a record high in the first quarter, standing at 2,218 projects/254,488 rooms, up 24% by projects and 12% by rooms YOY.

Thick smog chokes northern India and eastern Pakistan ahead of Diwali
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(CNN)- Thick, toxic smog has once again enveloped northern india and eastern Pakistan just days before the start of Diwali, a hindu festival typically celebrated with fireworks that each year sends air quality plummeting. The air quality index in the indian capital of Delhi was roughly 250 on Monday morning, after days in the “very unhealthy” zone above 200, according to IQAir, which tracks global air quality. In the Pakistani city of Lahore, roughly 25 kilometers (15 miles) from the Indian border, air quality surpassed a “hazardous” 500 on Monday – almost 65 times the World Health Organization’s guidelines for healthy air – making it the most polluted city in the world at the time of the ranking, according to IQAir. Air quality across the region is set to worsen as winter smog season approaches, when an ominous yellow haze blankets the skies due to farmers burning agricultural waste, coal-fired power plants, traffic and windless winter days. Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, is set to begin Thursday – a five day celebration during which people gather with their families, feast and set off firecrackers, in some cases in defiance of local bans, further exacerbating air pollution. Dystopian scenes of orange haze and buildings enveloped by fog emerge each year as smog season dominates the news, raising alarm as doctors warn of the risk of respiratory diseases and impacts on life expectancy. India’s air pollution has been found to be so bad, that experts have warned smog could take years off the lives of hundreds of millions of people. Residents and experts have long questioned why India has failed to curb air pollution, as Delhi and its neighboring states butt heads over who is really to blame. Delhi had banned the use and sale of firecrackers ahead of Diwali, but the policy has been difficult to implement. Last week, India’s Supreme Court condemned governments of the Punjab and Haryana states for failing to crack down on illegal stubble burning, the practice whereby farmers set crop waste on fire to clear fields. Local officials claim they have reduced the practice significantly in recent years. The Indian government also launched its nationwide Clean Air Programme in 2019, ushering in strategies across 24 states and union territories to reduce particulate matter concentration, a term for air pollutants, by 40% by 2026. The measures include cracking down on coal-based power plants, setting up air monitoring systems and banning burning of biomass. Officials have also begun sprinkling water on roads and even inducing artificial rainfall to combat air pollution in the Indian capital, though experts say these are band-aid solutions that fail to address the underlying issues. Some Indian cities have seen improvements in their air quality, according to government data, but progress has been slow. Between 2018 and 2022, New Delhi’s average PM2.5 concentration (a measure of pollutants in the air) for the month of November, when the pollution season typically begins, more or less stayed the same, according to IQAir. Experts in the past have questioned whether India has the political will to combat pollution. “There is not one party that has put its head down and said, ‘we are sickening the entire country and let’s fix it,’” Jyoti Pande Lavakare, founder of clean air non-profit Care for Air told CNN last year.

The Hidden Dangers in Your Smart Home: IoT Privacy Breaches in India
Picture this: You're cozied up on your sofa, asking your smart speaker to dim the lights and play your favorite playlist. Sounds perfect, right? But what if I told you that your smart home could be the gateway to your most personal information? Welcome to the shadowy world of Internet of Things (IoT) privacy breaches – a growing concern in India's rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Why This Keeps Me Up at Night
As a digital innovation student, I'm both thrilled and terrified by the IoT revolution in India. On one hand, it's transforming our lives with convenience and efficiency. On the other, it's opening up new avenues for cybercriminals to peek into our personal lives. It's like leaving your front door open and hoping no one walks in – except this door is invisible, and you might not even know it's open!
The IoT Boom: A Double-Edged Sword
India's IoT market is exploding faster than a Diwali firecracker:
The Indian IoT market is expected to reach $9.28 billion by 2025 (NASSCOM, 2021).
By 2025, there could be over 2 billion connected devices in India (Deloitte, 2022).
That's a lot of devices potentially spying on you while you sleep!
The Sneaky Ways Your Devices Betray You
So, how exactly are these innocent-looking gadgets compromising your privacy? Let's unmask the culprits:
Eavesdropping Assistants: Your smart speaker might be listening more than you think.
Nosy Refrigerators: That smart fridge could be serving up your data along with ice cubes.
Tattletale Thermostats: Your heating patterns could reveal when you're home... or not.
Gossipy Wearables: Your fitness tracker knows more about your health than your doctor!
Who's Paying the Price?
When IoT privacy goes out the window, it's not just your secrets at stake:
Individuals: Your personal habits, health data, and daily routines become an open book.
Businesses: Corporate espionage gets a high-tech upgrade.
Government: National security could be compromised through seemingly innocuous devices.
The Legal Maze: Where's the Exit?
Here's the kicker – India's legal framework is still playing catch-up:
The Personal Data Protection Bill (pending approval) touches on IoT but lacks specific regulations.
The Information Technology Act, 2000 didn't even dream of the IoT era we're living in now.
It's like trying to navigate a smart city with an outdated paper map!
Fighting Back: Securing Your Smart Life
Don't panic! Here's how you can fortify your IoT fortress:
Update, update, update! Keep your devices' software fresh.
Strong, unique passwords for each device (no, your birthday isn't a strong password).
Separate your IoT network from your main home network.
Think twice before connecting everything – does your toothbrush really need Wi-Fi?
Read those boring privacy policies – they might surprise you!
The Bottom Line
As India rides the IoT wave, we need to be surfers, not driftwood. Stay informed, stay cautious, but don't let fear hold you back from innovation. After all, the future is smart – let's make sure it's secure too!
Remember, in the world of IoT, your toaster and your TV might know you better than your best friend. Make sure they're keeping your secrets!
Stay safe, stay smart, and maybe think twice before asking your fridge for relationship advice!

History Of Kedarnath
Kedarnath is one of the Char Dhams in the north, with Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. It is also one of India's twelve jyotirlingas, and the highest. Kedarnath is regarded as extremely holy and difficult to approach.
However, the true history of Kedarnath begins with the Pandavas. After the Mahabharatha war, the Pandavas and Draupadi sought penance. Killing one's own kin was a severe sin, therefore they sought atonement from Lord Shiva in the Himalayan highlands. They saw Lord Shiva right where the Kedarnath sanctuary sits today.
Lord Shiva was unprepared to forgive them. So he disguised himself as a bull and buried himself to escape being discovered. However, the Pandavas recognised him, and Bhima tugged on his tail and back legs. Mahadev was buried deeper beneath the soil before resurfacing in 5 locations: the hump in Kedarnath, the arms in Tungnath,  the face in Rudranath, the belly in Madhyamaheshwar, and the head in Kalpeshwar. These come together to form the Panch Kedar.
Tumblr media
The Pandavas subsequently built temples in all five of these locations, which absolved their crimes.
Where Is Kedarnath Located?
Kedarnath is situated in the deep recesses of Uttarakhand, bordering Tibet. On one side, there are the Gangotri mountains, where the Ganga originates. On the other side is the sacred land of Badrinath. To get to any of these locations, you'll need to take a lengthy road diversion.
Sonaprayag, the last village before Kedarnath, is 210 miles from Rishikesh via road and 246 kilometers from Dehradun. While it may appear to be a little distance, the journey can last up to ten hours. Kedarnath is also located at an elevation of 11,755 feet, and the main shrine is not accessible by road or car. There are numerous ways to get to the shrine. Please see the 'How to Reach' section below.
When Is Kedarnath Open For Visitors?
Kedarnath's opening and closing dates vary each year because it follows the Hindu calendar. The shrine is currently open from the first day of Vaishakh (April-May) until the first day of Karthik (October-November). Diwali is traditionally the first day that the temple is closed.
During the winter, the temple and its surroundings are covered in deep snow and become dormant. The temple is currently inaccessible.
The temple is open all day, from 4 a.m. to 3 p.m. It closes for lunch and reopens from 5 to 9 p.m. The morning puja is held from 4:00 to 7:00 a.m., while the evening puja is held between 6:00 and 7:30 p.m.
Yatra Registration For Kedarnath
Following the 2013 flash floods, local officials set up a yatra registration system to limit the number of visitors to the Kedarnath Dham. Everyone must register online before starting their journey.
If you are trekking to Kedarnath, you will need to show your yatra epass. Make sure you have it before arriving. If you cannot do it yourself, try hiring someone in the vicinity for a charge (about ₹50, may change during busy season).
You will surely require this e-pass and registration to book a helicopter ticket online. Beginning in 2022, you will be expected to upload your Covid-19 certificate when registering.
Where To Stay During Kedarnath Travel?
In Guptakashi Or Sonaprayag
You will most likely need to spend a night or two in Guptakashi or Sonaprayag (if hiking), as this will serve as your base for your Kedarnath excursion. You must begin and end your journey at GuptaKashi, regardless of the mode of conveyance.
Guptakashi has a wide variety of hotels, ranging from inexpensive to mid-range. However, you are unlikely to discover super-luxurious ones in the neighborhood. While the hotel prices are equal to other hill stations during the regular months, they rise during the high season. We found super-basic lodgings (without heating or geysers) for ₹3000 per night.
The motels in Sonaprayag are somewhat basic, yet they are recommended if you want to start your journey the next morning.
Issues To Keep Note
As I indicated at the start of this article, I have mixed feelings regarding my journey. And, while I do not wish to scare you with my (personal) beliefs, I believe you should keep a few things in mind.
1. Keep in mind that the number of pilgrims making this journey is enormous. So expect it to be bustling everywhere! Hotels are full, and transportation, including ponies and helicopters, is overbooked. The queues are long, and the options are restricted. If you're travelling with the elderly or children, be prepared to pay for their discomfort with money.
2.According to ecologists, the 2013 floods were caused by overpopulation, overdevelopment, and excessive tourism. And, while local officials sought to keep this under control in subsequent years, as of 2022, there is basically no supervision or controls on activities. We'll be back at square one soon.
3.The seven helicopter companies who operate helicopters in this region frequently fail to follow the proper laws and safety criteria. The result was the helicopter crash on October 22. And you will not be surprised. The helicopters are booked at two to five times their normal capacity. This means less rest periods for both helicopters and pilots. Negligence is frequent. Some operators perform better than others, but no one can ensure a safe return.
4.All of the facilities along this road are relatively pricey, particularly during peak season. I probably paid as much as I would for a week-long vacation abroad, ignoring geyser motels and nasty drivers. If you're searching for a vacation, this is not it. If you're a pilgrim, take things as they come.
5.Only emergency and basic medical care are available in the region. Take special cautious around the elderly and children. Keep your prescriptions with you; don't expect to find them here. In the event of an emergency, you may be transported via helicopter, which must be self-funded.

Indian smartphone market rebounds 20% in Q4 2023
Tumblr media
Indian smartphone market rebounds 20% in Q4 2023, closing full year with 2% decline Thursday, 18 January 2024 - The latest Canalys research shows Indian smartphone vendors capitalized on robust festival season demand and propelled Q4 shipments to 38.9 million units, a stellar 20% year-on-year rebound. Samsung maintained pole position in Q4 2023 with a market share of 20% and shipments of 7.6 million units. Xiaomi continued its robust performance, claiming second place by shipping 7.2 million units. vivo secured third position with shipments of 7.0 million units, while realme and OPPO (excluding OnePlus) rounded out the top five by shipping 4.5 million and 3.7 million units, respectively. For 2023, India’s smartphone market maintained stability with 148.6 million shipments overall, a minor drop of 2%. The market demonstrated resilience, thanks to improved consumer confidence in the latter part of the year, and despite vendors facing inventory challenges, minimal inflation improvements and fluctuating demand for most of the year. “In 2023, growing investment in mainline retail space proved beneficial not only for vendors but also allowed the overall market to stabilize,” said Sanyam Chaurasia, Senior Analyst at Canalys Brands such as Xiaomi and realme saw their highest offline shipment share in Q4. Xiaomi democratized its portfolio, contributing equally to offline and online channels, making its highest offline channel contribution quarter. Its Redmi 12 5G and recently launched Redmi 13C series contributed to its offline share, each surpassing a million shipments. Similarly, realme also shipped devices with equal channel contribution, with the Narzo series driven by e-commerce, while the remaining portfolio continued to dominate offline channels. To further enhance their positions in the premium space, brands should continually focus on bolstering the confidence of their channel partners. “The premium segment witnessed robust growth, thanks to easy financing options, incentive schemes for retailers and rising disposable income,” said Chaurasia. “With the celebration of Diwali in November 2023, Apple got the opportunity to push the latest iPhone 15 series during the festive sales, contributing more than 50% to its shipments in Q4. Additionally, discounts on the previous-generation iPhone 14 and iPhone 13 models during online sales resulted in Apple’s record shipments, allowing it to capture 7% market share in India. Similarly, Samsung had set aggressive retail targets for its premium Galaxy S23 series to drive premium segment growth. Along with this, Samsung’s latest Galaxy S23 FE launch in Q4 drove shipments, thanks to compelling banking deals.” “Vendors are entering 2024’s ‘Election Year’ with improved indicators for the consumer market with manageable inflation, a steady interest rate and clear visibility of a stable government to come into power,” said Chaurasia. “Canalys expects the Indian smartphone market to grow by mid-single digits in 2024, driven by affordable 5G and the pandemic period replacement cycle. But the biggest challenge for vendors this year will be to manage the rising bill of materials costs.” Indian smartphone shipments and annual growth  Canalys Smartphone Market Pulse: Q4 2023 Vendor Q4 2023 shipments (million)Q4 2023  market  share Q4 2022 shipments (million)Q4 2022  market  share Annual  growth Samsung 7.6 20% 6.7 21% 14% Xiaomi 7.2 18% 5.5 17% 31% vivo 7.0 18% 6.4 20% 10% realme 4.5 12% 2.7 8% 69% OPPO 3.7 10% 4.0 12% -5% Others 8.9 23% 7.3 22% 23% Total 38.9 100% 32.4 100% 20%    Note: Xiaomi estimates include sub-brand POCO. Community Outreach
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Date - October 19th, 2022
From our 'bridging the gaps' fundraiser, we managed to raise an astonishing amount of 21,000 Indian Rupees. The entire school community decided to use these funds raised for a great cause, which was buying items for the Apahaj Ashram, and Pingla Ghar located in Jalandhar, India, for the second part of the Community Outreach. Diwali was soon coming on the 21st of October, so we all collectively decided that we wanted to put a smile on the resident's of the Ashram (old-age home and orphanage)'s faces. We delivered Diyas (Indian candles), food and winter necessities to each and every single one of the residents. Through our journey, we were met with emotional responses from those who did not even expect their Diwali, the festival of lights to light on that day of October. When we went there, I remember going into a room with elderly women and giving one of them a Diya. She told me 'Bless you child, you will do so good in life for making me happy. Thank you for bringing back Diwali for me' whilst in tears. Ultimately, I also broke down into tears because it was unfortunate where she and even the other residents ended up. Though it was a type of 'home' for them, it would never be their true home, and that's what made me grateful to my home right now. It was an honor helping these people and putting a smile on their face. One thing I learned from this is that kindness should be mandatory for every single person because you never know what they go through. Through my experience, I really enjoyed putting a smile on each and everyone's faces at the Ashram and listening to them, as well as befriending them. It was truly a pleasure to be there and an emotional rollercoaster. Time spent - 5 hours and 30 minutes

Diwali 2023 Set To See Big Jump In Spending On Luxury Goods - Skywire
Given Diwali’s status as no less than India’s biggest and most important holiday of the year, it is only to be expected that many a luxury brands marketing agency will be busy as the festival approaches, coordinating marketing campaigns that are tastefully tied in with the occasion.
However, as high-spending customers in India grow in number, and even many luxury, lifestyle, and fashion brands based well away from South Asia seek to capitalise on this, there is increasing evidence of just how significant a time Diwali is becoming for those who like to spend on high-end goods.
With the Hindu festival of lights this year falling on Sunday 12th November, there are signs that related shopping activity is already intensifying among Indian customers. But what are the lessons that ambitious luxury brands should be taking away as a result?
‍“We are expecting increased spending across all luxury categories”
One relevant media outlet to have recently drawn attention to the ever-greater association between Diwali and the market for high-end products, is the Indian business and financial daily newspaper, Mint.
In an article entitled “Festive buying spree cheers luxury brands”, the publication said that on the backdrop of a “thriving economy”, companies anticipated a “significant surge in luxury goods demand in the ongoing festive season”.
The newspaper observed that “substantial growth” was set to be seen across a range of categories, including fashion, jewellery, footwear, and even cigars, with the third quarter likely to record as much as 20% greater demand in some categories.
The DLF luxury mall in northern India said it had seen 50% growth for watches, branded jewellery, and ready-to-wear items, compared to the same period 12 months earlier.
DLF Retail senior executive director, PushpaBector, said the company had already noticed an “uptick in overall expenditure” amounting to an 8% increase in spending per customer from the situation in 2022, adding: “We are expecting increased spending across all luxury categories, such as clothing, beauty, and personal care, during the upcoming festive season.”
‍So, what should your brand be doing in response to Diwali spending surges?
Of course, as far as Diwali 2023 is concerned, brands in the lifestyle, fashion, and high-end sectors should have already long been working with their chosen luxury brands marketing agency in order to make the most of the opportunities of the season, in ways that feel authentic and relevant.
Although your brand might have gone as far as putting together Diwali-focused capsule collections, this might not represent the best move for every single brand. In any case, it is important for ambitious brands to not depend solely on special-edition product releases in honour of the festival, when optimisation of the all-round consumer experience could be no less powerful a priority.
To learn more about the moves that your own brand might make to align its messaging and offer more effectively with its target audiences, whatever the time of year, please don’t wait any longer to enquire to the Skywire London team.

Cocoa and Chocolate Market to Witness Unprecedented Growth in Coming Years
The global cocoa market as per revenue was estimated to be worth $21.1 billion by 2022 and is poised to reach $26.3 billion by 2027, growing at a CAGR of 4.5% from 2022 to 2027. The global chocolate market as per revenue was estimated to be worth $127.9 billion by 2022 and is poised to reach $160.9 billion by 2027, growing at a CAGR of 4.7% from 2022 to 2027. Increasing sales of chocolate confectionery products to be consumed as comfort food is responsible for making it a regular grocery items in households. Chocolate is considered a traditional gift on special occasions and festivals such as Christmas, Easter, Halloween, and Valentine’s Day in American and European countries, a trend which is now adopted in some Asian countries such as India, China, and Japan.

Health Benefits of Chocolates
Chocolates have a long history of being used as a health food. In the 18th century, a chocolaty drink was used in England to prevent and cure stomach aches. Today, ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) is used to compare the antioxidant capacity of different foods. Chocolates, along with apples and blueberries, are considered to be one of the best ORAC rating foods. Instead of relying on medication, consumers prefer to incorporate ingredients that improve their health into their normal diet. Dark chocolate is becoming more popular among consumers due to its high cocoa content and flavonoids, especially a subtype known as flavanols that is linked to a lower risk of heart disease. Additionally, those who consume dark chocolate or high cocoa content have a lower chance of developing insulin resistance and high blood pressure. Thus, the health benefits associated with cocoa and its products are the biggest driver for the cocoa and chocolate market.
Seasonal and Festive-related Sales
Chocolate is considered a traditional gift on special occasions and festivals such as Christmas, Easter, Halloween, and Valentine’s Day in American and European countries, a trend which is now adopted in some Asian countries such as India, China, and Japan. Chocolate sales shoot up during festive seasons. Keeping this seasonal effect of sales in mind, companies trying to venture into developing economies, such as India and China, are focusing on specialty products for traditional festivals such as the Chinese New Year, Raksha Bandhan, and Diwali in India. Currently, the seasonal and festive sales of chocolate products highly impact the market as a large portion of chocolate products are consumed in this segment. Depending on the situation, they are produced in a variety of shapes, sizes, colors, and product materials. Thus, this high demand for chocolates and its products during festivals would enhance the market for cocoa and chocolate.
Large Number of Applications
Chocolate is used in several applications, including confectionery, beverages, and baking. Chocolate is setting its foot rapidly in the baking industry, with lots of chocolates being looked upon as a flavor for biscuits, cakes, and pastries. In the global flavor industry, several new product types are being developed, such as energy drinks, yogurt, and dairy beverages. Additionally, chocolate liquor is generally used for applications in the production of bittersweet chocolate and baking applications. Cocoa is used in the pharmaceutical industry for providing the chocolate essence or flavour to the drugs to improve the palatability or compliance of the dosage forms for consumers. In addition to that, natural cocoa butter is frequently used in cosmetics as a humectant, a lubricant to maintain the moisture, and to enhance the aroma of products. These applications of cocoa and chocolate can drive its market in the coming years.

Asia Pacific region is witnessing the highest growth rate in chocolate market
The Asia Pacific region is witnessing the fastest growth rate of 5.72% during the forecast period. The Chinese cocoa market, in terms of volume, is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 6.39%. This is attributed to the strong demand for chocolate in the country. Across Europe, Germany consumed the highest quantity of chocolate in 2021 followed by UK, and Belgium. United States accounted for the largest market share primarily driven by the large consumption of confectionary and bakery items. According to the Observatory of Economic Complexity (OEC), the US was the seventh largest exporter of chocolate in 2020, with key export destinations being Canada, Mexico, South Korea, Australia, and the UK. Growth in this region is attributed to the growing population, rise in per capita income, growing urbanization, and therefore, an increase in demand for chocolate-based products. Additionally, the nutritional benefits of chocolate are promoting the growth of chocolate in the region.
