My short-term Roman Empire rn is the LeeLuke divorce, esp bc I just know it's gotta be dramatic. Lee is an Apollo kid first and foremost. That shit definitely happens in Elysium, as soon as Luke gets there.

Castor just hands a stack of papers to Luke, who is deadass so confused. And Castor's like, "Your husband, Lee's words not mine, wants a divorce."

Luke is wondering when tf they got married & why tf he's being served divorce papers by a child of Dionysus and not Ethan, which would make more sense.

Michael Yew, in all of his 4'6 glory, walks over and throws a pen at Luke's face. "To sign the dam papers."

First Burn - The beginnings of the LeeLuke divorce pre-Elysium

I need to hear more about this one 👀

This one has been in the works for so long despite how little actual writing it has LMAO.

It is gonna start post Lightning Thief, pre-Sea of Monsters. Lee had temporarily left camp to visit his mother (he's normally a year-rounder, but like- he's gotta get used to the human world yk) and they're at the grocery store when Luke just walks up.

Obviously Lee is NOT amused, but his mom thinks Luke is the sweetest thing ever, especially when she finds out they are (soon to be were, Luke just don't know it yet) dating. Lee is glaring at both his mom (lovingly) and Luke (disappointedly) the entire car ride back to their house.

While Lee's mom is cooking, Lee drags Luke up to his room by the ear with the most unamused expression ever. For all the time they were dating, Lee NEVER mentioned where he lived, so he has many questions. But Luke is just staring lovestruck at Lee and asks one question that starts the fire in their relationship. "Will you join me in my fight against the Gods?"

Tbh, I may make a TA Lee au bc I love the concept of "I can make him worse." We'll see. This is the general rundown to start things off, but the lovers' quarrels continue all the way up until pre-BoTL

Okay so like, I'll hopefully get the oneshot I'm working on rn done by tomorrow.

And why I was working on a college au oneshot. I have a sudden urge to write a short divorced Leeluke one where Luke continues to not realize he's becoming more and more of a walking red flag and Lee is this 👌 close to killing him.

Also cause there's this one interaction between them I've thought of that I really want to write hsgxf it's so funny to me.

Post-tlt leeluke just both tragic and funny to me because, let's be honest, canon Luke we see is a asshole. And I just really like writing Lee calling him out and kicking his ass.

It's like therapy for me.

Lee being a very bitter ex who's so done with Luke and Luke just not getting it is so funny to me.

Lee had to help care for a nearly dead 12 year old boy that Luke just left to deal with a pit scorpion on his own for and immediately filed the divorce papers.

Lee falling asleep a lot during camp meetings from lack of sleep. His head falling on Luke's shoulder. Luke decides to not wake him unless he has to and tells him what happened afterwards.

Fantasy au pre-divorce-

Luke being one the only people outside Lee's siblings he's comfortable being in his small form around.

Luke finds him so burnt out he's curled up in a organizing basket in the infirmary and just carefully picks him up and takes him where he can sleep.

Chris once finds them both fast asleep with tiny sun fae Lee curled up in Luke's chest and decides not both them.

Lee likes getting lil head rubs in smol form.

Were-coyote Luke gets ear scratches of course. (his tail is totally not wagging- what gave you that idea?)

Luke gets in trouble and goes to his coyote form thinking he can puppy eyes his way out of it and Lee just picks him up and holds him in air jail probably even more so considering he can fly.

Lee babysits the rest of the Hermes kids and Luke finds him, a bunch of his siblings in their Fox and Coyote forms, and Lee's siblings all cuddled up asleep. Lee's wings curled around them protectively.

Luke sometimes likes to hold and pet the tuft of fur at the end of Lee's tail. 100%

Like yeah, it might be one(two if you wanna count ttc opening conflict) instances we see

I mean it also is great for fic ideas- surprised I hadn't really seen it- but still.

Just insane to me. It's not even "the Titan Army is paying good money for demigods" it's "Luke Castellan is paying good money for demigods."

Like no matter what way your splice it Luke is at least complicit in it.

I know I get silly when writing him with the Leeluke stuff, but there's a reason I tend to focus on divorce Leeluke

Because it's so hard not to write him getting the consequences of his actions. Because he DOES STUFF LIKE THIS.

Especially with how I write Lee. If Lee found out the Luke was at least complicit in what's pretty much the buying of other demigods, he'd kill him with his bare hands. Being stuck as Kronos' vessel would seem like a mercy compared to how badly Lee would kick his ass.

Anyway... looks at my Fae!Lee/were-coyote!Luke au wip Suddenly that doesn't seem too out of pocket anymore...

More divorced Leeluke thoughts

Some time Post Luke's betrayal Lee doesn't get much sleep.

Partly due to staying in the infirmary to keep an eye on Percy's vitals why he's still recovering from the scorpion sting, and partly because his mind won't settle.

He's felt like he's been stabbed in the chest, rush of emotions hit him at once.

Most people don't notice how much it effected him of course, except for Michael who's constantly trying to get his older brother to rest. He didn't know Luke long, but seeing how hurt his brother was made him furious. An anger he kept(and was aspirated by Lee's later death) until the end of the war.

Lee put all his energy into camp afterwards. He became defensive over the Stolls and was completely hard broken when Chris left. Though he wasn't as angry at the kid, knowing how close Chris had been to Luke he was expected, but it still hurt.

Any time anyone tried to say anything about the Stolls or the Hermes cabin, Lee did not take it, chewing anyone who said a thing out.

They became the main big brother figure in camp. He did a lot more for keeping kids from joining the Titans then Chiron let's be honest, he knew where they came from. But it also was able to remind them that the Titans were just a earlier link in the chain that was the mess of Immortals.

He took care of camp, and showed most new kids around, and helped them find a place. Why Luke tended to fuel their bitterness towards the gods, Lee fueled their independence. They didn't need the gods approval to be something great. To be loved.

Lot of that stimmed from his childhood. His mortal parent wasn't a cruel parent. But they were desperate for love. Lee's stepfather was a manipulative type. Seemed kind on the surface, but had to get his way. He was always right, and he's make you feel bad if you weren't. A self centered man that drained Lee to live with. Lee's stepfather's love was conditional, but Lee learned to make his own rules to be loved. He took control of his own life and love and kept that when he got to camp.

If Apollo wanted their love, he'd have to love in return.

So,in reality it scared Lee after Luke's betrayal. That fear that he was just like their mother, found love in someone who didn't really scare to put equal work into the relationship like they did.

Of course Luke did love Lee, even if he doesn't realize how much until after he left. But by then it was much too late. Luke tried multiple times to get Lee on his side, but he was rejected each time. Even kicked in the crotch once. Really he was lucky he didn't get a arrow between the eyes. Lee was pissed. And Luke was much too wrapped up in his own emotions to understand why.

To Lee he had started to feel like all those years working together and supporting eachother wasn't anything to Luke. Those sleepless nights Lee spent trying to help Luke heal from his past. Those nights they spent trying to get Luke to focus on the love he had now, not the one Luke craved. Those days that Lee had Luke rest why he took over his duties as he knew he had a lot on his place with the Hermes cabin. Even if the Apollo cabin was almost as big. Those nights after Luke came back from his quest, that they sat why Lee cleaned and tended to his stitches in his face. They felt those were all just passing time to Luke.

Part of them blamed himself, he felt like a kid again, asking if he really didn't love enough that those around him were desperate enough to latch into unhealthy relationships instead.

But they had to remind themselves that Luke made his own decision. They gave their all to love Luke, he chose Kronos on his own accord. Lee couldn't put that on themselves.

Luke despite all his despite attempts to get Lee back to him, already ruined his chances. He fumbled bad.

Luke questioned himself. Plenty of times. But Luke feared death. He feared not being remembered like the heroes before. He idolized those stories even if he didn't realize it.

Lee? He feared no death if it was for those he loved. He stared the Drakon right in the eyes, and he used his fear to keep going.

Luke's fear lost him his body and Lee.

Lee's willingness to face his head on left to those he cared about fighting another day.

Luke never could get Lee back. Even if he lived. Especially if as many Apollo kids died in the way they did in canon. No matter how much he loves him and tells him he does. Luke should know just how little promises of love matter when actions prove other wise.
