To all of my divination witches out there, what is your favorite form of divination?
I’ve been looking into trying new forms as I mostly read tarot and do automatic writing but wanted to get a feel for what others are resonating with and their favorites and least favorites
Also if your fav is tarot, what deck is your fav since I’m always looking for more
Thanks witches! 🖤🪦🕸️🕷️🔮

How do I communicate with my deities?
🔮 Not a professional guide 🔮
Feel free to correct any mistakes if you know more
❗Last edit: 7 Dec 2024 ❗
Tumblr media
ʚ Why use more than one method? ɞ ꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷
I think it's important to have more than just one method of divination to communicate with a spirit/deity and/or to seek an answer for a situation in spirituality. This can add information to the previous divination method, or confirm/deny the previous answer, and from there work for the clearest answer you can get.
ʚ Answers that don't make sense ɞ ꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷
The fact that the second answer denies the first one doesn't mean the first one is wrong, nor the second one is correct, or vice versa. If there are contradictory, things that don't make much sense in the answers or something feels off, I recommend looking for things that might be interfering with the process.
Any external factors: an air current in case of scrying or pendulum/irregular surface in case of dice or coin, etc.
Any internal factors: Being tired, in a bad mood, anxious, or just not being grounded. This can interfere in the interpretation, the way you ask questions, the way you execute the divination method, etc.
Not communicating with who you actually want to communicate with: Maybe a trickster (some people believe in them, some don't), maybe you accidentally contacted the wrong spirit, depends.
The spirit is not there: this is personal experience, don't take this as absolute truth. Sometimes I feel like their energy around me is not really strong and the answers are not clear, so I feel like they're not there and therefore they're not answering me.
The divination tools haven't been cleansed: I don't cleanse them all the time, but often enough to be sure.
I might edit these with more
I want to take a moment to remember that we first must think about the physical and why something might be happening. If after reflecting on why this could be happening in our environment there's not really a reason for it or it's happening in an unusual way, we could start thinking about a spiritual reason. (Regarding signs from any spirit, divination or the spiritual in general)
ʚImportant thing before divination ɞ꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷
Check for external factors that might interfere.
Cleanse your tools.
Check on yourself and your mental state, be grounded and calm, there's no rush. Take a moment to breathe and feel your body and environment.
Use some kind of protection, to be sure something that's not invited is getting in your space.
ʚ Methods that I use ɞ ꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒷
Pendulum: I use a necklace with a quartz pendant using this.
[↕️]: Yes.
[↔️]: No.
[Still or really soft movement]: Not sure/still thinking/the answer is not set in stone.
Dice: Any dice works for this
[Odd]: No.
[Even]: Yes.
Poker cards: This can work if you don't have a tarot deck yet, or just want to try something else. There are some cards missing but what can you do, it works pretty nice.
[♥️]: Cups.
[♦️]: Pentacles.
[♣️]: Wands.
[♠️]: Swords.
[J]: Knight.
[Q]: Queen.
I'm still learning more on each divination method every day, and I really recommend researching constantly to learn more about your tools and different ways of interpretation! This is not much, but it's a good way to start.
[K]: King.
Tarot cards: The usual. I personally take reversed cards and sometimes when they land horizontally I take it as a middle ground between the two meanings. Take whatever meanings you feel like taking: your deck, your divination, your rules!

how do you communicate and talk with your deities?
There are a variety of methods to get answers/responses from deities. Since I’m someone who doesn’t take hints, I prefer methods that give me direct messages, which include:
Note: These are methods that work for ME. They may not work for everyone and this isn’t a definitive list of divination methods nor is it an exhaustive guide to using them.
Runes: I’ve used this specifically (and only) with the Norse deities I work with since they’re connected to them. But, they are a bit difficult for me to use/decipher sometimes.
Method of Use: Ask a question to deity and dig into bag of runes without looking. Determine answer from drawn rune(s). May also use a rune spread for a more detailed answer.
Pyromancy: Each of my altars (except one atm) have candles to light. Based on how the candle moves, it gives me a short yes/no answer.
Method of Use: Light candle and call upon deity. Ask a question and analyze the response of the candle flame, whether it moves or doesn’t, what direction, how rapid is the movement, etc.
Tarot: My main method. Takes a while to get all the details of an answer since it gives a lot more information but it’s my most informative way of getting clear and thorough answers.
Method of Use: Ask a question or use a tarot spread. Shuffle tarot cards in any manner then continue shuffling cards until certain cards spill from the deck. Analyze answer based on upright/reversed meanings.
Meditation: This method is most energy-consuming but most rewarding. With this, I can see and hear my deities. Their faces tend to be blurred and my own thoughts can jumble through the process but it’s phenomenal for me. I get emotional and physical sensations with visual associations. I use this method most when I want to confirm what deity reaches out to me.
Method of Use: Lay down in a comfortable position with a quiet environment. Using headphones, play meditative music or a guided meditation audio to fully relax. Visualize or describe a meeting place different than your current environment and invite deity to join your space. Analyze feelings, emotions, sensations, visual experiences, etc.
I’m also looking to eventually get into osteomancy/bone-throwing, bibliomancy, and automatic writing. :)

Cheap Divination Method: Witchy Alphabet Soup
An idea came to my mind today: How can I guess specific words, names, without use a pendulum? I don’t want use the Ouija and I can’t tune with pendulums, so I was short of methods, and for a while wondered what to do. And today I got the idea. CHEAP idea (Trash Witch at the rescue).
The idea is: Make an alphabet soup in a paper and drop anything ring-ish, so the letters that are inside the ring, are the used letters of the word.
How tow make it? Two “ingredients”: Paper and rings.
First you need to get a paper (A4 kind of paper is the perfect size), it can be blank but if is squared sheet, damn it will be way easier. Then you fill it with letters. You can be savage and do it randomly, or follow a typical alphabet soup squared form (which is not needed, I just use squared sheet because I can measure better how big the letters are and how far they are from each other).
The tricky part is which letter and how many from each other are needed. In English speaker people is easier. Here https://wordsearches.brightsprout.com/word-search-maker?gad_source=1 is an alphabet soup maker, quite cool, just follow it and you will be fine. Have in mind that the frequency of letters in English (from most to less common) are etaoinshrdlcumwfgypbvkjxqz. So make sure to have enough of the first half at least. A good rule to make it is writing that first etaoinshr word 4 times, then dlcumwfg 2 times and ypbvkjxqz one time. Repeat it until fill the page (I think repeat it 5 times give you a good chunk of letters with which you can work, but it depends of how big is your page). Make sure to make it a little messy, but just flow with it, who I’m to tell you what to do.
DISCLAMER: Different languages have a different letter frequency, so you will have to check that if you want to do it on your native language. In my case (Spanish), the frequency is e, a, o, s, r, n, i, d, l, c, t, u, m, p, b, g, v, y, q, h, f, z, j, ñ, x, k, w. But in any language, do the same, part the set of letters in 3 (very frequent, common and less frequent) and do the same than in English.
So after that you will have a nice page of letters. So now with the ring part.
Here the trick is found something ring shaped where the center is empty, so it let you see the letter inside, and heavy enough to toss it in the paper. If you do it with rings made of paper, will be maybe too light. A firm cardboard can maybe work. My favorite are these ring links used in jewelry to put different pieces together. They are heavy enough for the work.
Tumblr media
If you drink a lot, you can maybe use the ring pull, but you will need letters big enough because the joke is that you need one letter fitting perfectly inside (If inside the ring is two half letters, is not an answer. It must be at least 90% the letter to consider it a firm YES).
You can also play with what you have. If you have one ring, good, throw it one time, take note the letter, throw it again and again, until you have a word that have some sense (Yes, it can have mistakes but if the final word is something like HELTP you can know that say HELP. But if it says INWLSW is like nonsense).
If you have several rings, you can throw them all together. I personally use 5 because witchy pentacle, right?
In my case will look like this:
Tumblr media
So yes, that’s my initial idea. Be free to use and experiment with it, see if works for you. Plus, it looks innocent enough to witches in the closet!

Divination Methods
Automatic writing- entering a meditative state and channelling information from the spirits while writing/typing messages.
Scrying- gazing into what is usually a reflective surface to divine.
Tarot- using cards to interpret a story.
Oracle- cards used to help in spiritual enlightenment, offering the possibility of self-growth.
Osteomancy- divination using animal bones.
Tasseography- the reading of tea leaves.
There are many I didn’t include, but I thought this would be a good start.

My Personal Methodology for Divination Reading
I will start by saying that every individual is different, and so the methods for one person almost certainly won't ring true for all people, but I'm going to do my best to cover what I believe are the most important aspects of my own divination methods.
1. My Tools are Only Tools
While I care deeply about the quality and care of my divination tools (my rune and ogam sets) at the end of the day they are mearly the tools I use to see the 'tapestry' of the future, or present in some cases. My tools may work a little differently (my ogam tends to lean more towards the emotional aspects of situations and speak in a more poetic fashion, while my runes tend to be pretty blunt and more straight forward) I don't personify them. THEY are not telling me what I'm reading, they are just the means by which I'm able to read.
2. Context is Key
Context when reading is absolutely EVERYTHING. The same stave could have dozens of different interpretations depending on the context of whats around it and the same 6 staves could have a dozen interpretations in the context of an individuals life. A reading discussing the persons ability to nurture and need to learn quickly could apply equally well to someone about to become a parent or someone entering a helping profession. Context is EVERYTHING.
3. Intuition is just as Important as Memorization
People tend to spend a lot of time and energy on memorizing the 'textbook' meanings of each tool that they're using. This is important because obviously you need to be able to speak the language of your tools in order to translate their meanings but I have been preforming divination for 10+ years and I ALWAYS have a quick reference on hand because KNOWING what is being said is more important practically than having the book meanings memorized. This idea feeds back into context, because a staves true meaning in a reading is based on the context of the staves around it and no book can account for all possible contexts.

Reading the news divinatorily
To hear me read this post aloud (length: 3:46), click here. I originally put this on Threads, but decided to copy and paste it here. I have gone back to the Washington Post and the New York Times. Even reading the Wall Street Journal when I have time. 1) They’re covering stuff I want to know about, 2) I finally figured out that my university covers the cost of these three while I’m still a…

I did a charm casting yesterday to practice and develop my system cause it's been a while and was so fun. While I don't find it more detailed than tarot they can often be clearer and are definitely more intuitive.
I might post the results of one of my practice readings? Cause it really isn't a common method of divination which is a shame and I think a lot of people would be interested if they knew about it.
Also gon plug Bits and Bobs Divination on youtube who does charmcasting reading vids and a guide video too!
what readings would you say casting charms are good for? i’ve never actually seen anyone offer them before
Man I should do a series on charm casting or something. Like if I had a friend IRL who was like, "I want to be a witch and I want to learn divination, what should I do?" I'd hands down recommend charm casting.
I'd probably say that charm casting is excellent at reading relationships, not just interpersonal relationships but literally how things relate to each other; the way things are oriented around each other.
When you're taking the pieces and dropping them to see where they fall, I believe what's ultimately read is their orientation to each other, and their position on the casting board (if one is used).
So this makes it primed for like...
anything.
"What's the right path to take?" -> Which path is oriented towards the best outcome?
"What's his true motivation?" -> In what way is his motivation oriented? In what direction is he moving?
"Is my spell working?" -> How does my spell currently relate to reality and manifestation?
There's also this aspect of casting boards that really blows things out of the water; casting boards can help illuminate the domain or arena within which you are casting to both define and clarify the reading.
So you can have a folder full of casting boards that help define planetary spheres, elements, campuses, buildings, otherworlds, and all manner of things.
And you can make them on printer paper with a marker. You can collect all the charms from around the house. So it's free; it's better than free, you don't have to wait for shipping. You can construct charm sets out of stuff from your desk at work, or gutter pebbles, or whatever.
Not only that but charm casting can have an aspect of sortilege, right. Suppose you have a set of 20 charms, well you could pull 3 blindly from a bag. And in this sense you can read your charms through sortilege alone ("I drew these 3 out of 20, so what does that mean?").
And then you can cast them to see how they fall in relation to each other.
And the ways that they can interact with each other are in my opinion both more intuitive than tarot, but also more detailed and nuanced than tarot.
Yeah. Charm casting rocks and you can kind of do anything with it.

The Shower Method: Manifestation Methods
Hello and welcome to this new post of mine! I decided to make a new series, this time about manifestation methods. I hope you find this useful and enjoy.
Masterpost > Paid Readings > Subliminal Channel
Tumblr media
What is it used for:
The shower method can be used for many things as long as they can be confirmed through a test (or a call). This can go from someone reaching out to you, to getting money on your bank account, to getting an email to confirm something you have been waiting for. In my own personal experience is the shower method a very good and easy method, and has worked every single time I have tried so far.
Tumblr media
Instructions:
1. Think of your goal
Think of what it is you want to achieve with this manifestation method, what it is you want and in what way you will receive the confirmation.
2. Look at your phone
Get ready for your shower, and before you actually step into the shower look at your phone and imagine getting that email, text, missed call etc. whatever it is you wish. Imagine receiving it, seeing it, and then close of your phone and get into the shower.
3. Take your shower
As you take your shower think about what you are going to do now that you’ve received your goal. Act as if you’ve already gotten it, and are just waiting a little before replying, if you want to reply in the first place. Think about what it is you want to reply, or how you feel now that you’ve gotten this information.
4. Get out and check your phone
Once you are done taking your shower take your time to get out of it, possibly put on some clothes and do whatever routine you usually do, and open up your phone once you’re done; your manifestation will be right there like you already believed it was.

Today I tried a bit of free writing for deity communication!!! I tried it before, just wanted to talk about my experience.
It's always a bit confusing because discerning what is you and what is your deity is a big struggle.
My process was this:
I stop thinking for a second, concentrating on my surroundings.
I (if I get it) get a concept in my head randomly. Like, the general idea of what the deity is trying to communicate with me.
While concentrating on that idea, I try to translate that vague concept into words.
This is what I follow and what usually works for me. While writing the idea I do so, sometimes, in a way that's not the way I talk. For example, I noticed Lucifer is much more baroque when talking, and has a very poetic way of expressing his thoughts. On the other hand, Beelzebub tends to be more direct and talks in short sentences, he wants to get his point across quickly.
I encourage you to try it as another way of divination!! I used it before but I didn't know the name was "free writing", I first thought it was called "automatic writing", I just corrected it from a comment I got on the post. This, along with tarot and pendulum are my current favourites.
Edit: Someone pointed out to me that this is not automatic writing! It's called free writing. Automatic Writing is letting an entity control your hand to write something. This was not that, definitely. Sorry for my mistake 🫶🏻
