someone recommended call me by your name to me today. now i am usually not this bad at trying to understand my emotions but with this one...honestly i don’t even know. set in the 1980s the cinematography itself is achingly stunning but add that to the kind of characterization and acting the two male leads showcased? one would honestly be hard pressed to find a fault. Sufjan Stevens music only added this soft, magical, classic vibe to it. when i say this movie is a literal work of art; i mean it with every inch of my soul. i am not over this couple, nor am i over the imagery so dear lord am i thankful that it’s getting a sequel.
no movie has quite made me feel the way this did. slow burn (2 hrs), coming of age, romance and angst all twined together like the vines of a wisteria plant. current and possibly forever favorite.
if i could recommend one movie...just one; it would be this.

you know how some movies end but you are still left processing the message it tired to convey? A Silent Voice / Koe no Katachi is one of the most beautiful and achingly real movies I have seen in a long longg time. highly recc it if you are willing to be emotionally wrecked.

Do you have a favorite Studio Ghibli movie? Mine is Ponyo
at the risk of sounding cliche, it’s My Neigbour Totoro. It was the first Ghibli movie I watched and well I named my puppy after it so *sweatdrops* it’s just even more special to me now haha
I haven’t seen Ponyo yet but I am going to watch it this Sunday. let’s see if my favourite changes <33
