• La Guerre des Étoilés (110k, 10 chapters)

Le Général Hux est mécontent. Il a un concours de cuisine à gagner contre la brigade de la Petite Résistance mais il doit aussi gérer les sautes d'humeur de son propre coéquipier, Kylo Ren, descendant d'une longue lignée de cuisiniers mythiques. Du Kylux, un soupçon de Luke Skywalker/Wedge Antilles et peut-être un poil de Stormpilot sur le long terme.

-> The fic that fanart made me think of! The author was publishing a translation in english here, it hasn't been updated in 2019 and it only goes up to chapter 6 but since you're reading in french 👀 personally I thought it might not hold up to my current tastes but I reread it like a year ago and it really did! It's great, I love it. The puns are funny, it feels like watching a cooking contest but you also get UST on top, impeccable.

• the En ton nom series, Ben & Sheev (210k & 23 chapters, 198k & 16 chapters)

Le fraîchement promu Général Hux se fait enlever par la Résistance. Enfermé dans une cellule, le seul visage qu'il voit au quotidien est celui de l'homme chargé de l'interroger, un Jedi nommé Ben.

Après avoir fui la Résistance en compagnie de Hux, Ben rejoint le Premier Ordre sous le nom que lui a donné le Leader Suprême Snoke : Kylo Ren.

-> It has been almost 5 whole years since I first read this fic and I'm still mentally ill about it (mostly in a good way). It predates Armitage as a first name for Hux and the ending absolutely destroyed me. I read it during the holidays at like a lunch with family and I was just sobbing in a corner of the room because of these two and I do not regret looking like an idiot in that moment because the emotional Moment was worth it. Absolute masterpiece. If you finish it come tell me about it even if it takes you years because that ending... listen I love the fic so very much but I won't lie that dot dot dot is (derogatory). The emotional wreckage of it was not satisfying to teen me but I'm still thinking about it with minimal prompting 5 years later and that's how you can tell the author did a great job. To be clear this is a cherished memory even if I wasn't crying with joy. There's also an english translation being worked on by im_your_hope!

• I also have good memories of L'autre con, but it's been years so they're just vague memories. It was written as a prompt fill for a fic starting with "Y'a encore l'autre con dans ma chambre", like Y'a encore l'autre con dans my chambre by Hermineuh! (that's uh, "that other dumbass is in my room again") And speaking of Hermineuh...

• Dites-le avec des fleurs by Hermineuh (30k, 6 chapters)

Hux a un secret. Rien d'extravagant ni de malsain, fort heureusement. Juste une petite passion qu'il s'est découverte il y a peu et qu'il compte bien garder pour lui. Ce serait tellement dommage si le Maître des Chevaliers de Ren venait à le découvrir. Vraiment dommage…

-> This right here is my first Kylux fic ever. I read it just after watching episode 7 (I think? or 8?) in bed when I should've been asleep. I was scrolling of FFnet trying to find something interesting, this seemed a safe bet, and then BAM surprise Kylux, and now look at me. Thank you Hermineuh for single-handedly selling me on the ship. This fic changed my life and also it's good!

Okay that's it, the only fandom I have french recs left for is probably Johnlock now haha. Hope you enjoys these!

A random headcanon: Honnêtement j’en ai pas.. ( Même si du coup le Bernard et elle en amis m’intrigue … )

General Opinion over said character: Ca a l’air d’être une gentille dame qui n’a que de bonne attention pour son entourage même si des fois elle peut avoir l’air fermé d’esprit du à ses croyances. En plus d’avoir un passé assez sombre, genre elle a tué son mari ? ( Je suis vraiment pas sur ). Du coup je sais pas si je préfère la version ou elle l’a tué en mode badass vu que dans mon souvenir y’a ce côté un peu blague quand le sujet viens, ou bien une version plus dramatique de cette histoire…

Hmmm I'm not sure if this counts but I have a few different books on classical mythology / history that I bought specifically because they discuss Theseus and his myths :~) I also have a few on Minoan culture I want to get for Asterius. doll - do either of you collect anything? Dia collects stationery! Notebooks, stamps, stickers, pens and pencils... she often ends up rarely ever actually using them, but she still likes to have them so she can always jot down an idea whenever she needs to! Asterius collects fantasy novels, specifically stories regarding beast-men being depicted in a positive light. Theseus doesn't have a collection per say, but within Elysium has some items that were sentimental to him in life; a ring from Amphitrite, a golden sash that originally belonged to his mother, Aethra, and a wooden effigy of Aphro/dite that Ariadne had gifted him some many years ago. beloved - would you consider marrying your f/o? if you're already married, what does that mean to you? to them? I've thought about it :~) if I'm still posting about thesterius nearer the end of 2023 it means I've been shipping w/ them for 3(!) years, and its rare for me to get attached in such a way... so they're very special to me. Also I already like 2 "jokingly" call Theseus my wife </3 (if there Was a wedding... I would want 2 look up marriage traditions in ancient athens)

Conlanging for cheaters

quick tips for creating fantasy language(s) that look believable if you squint

Pick a few rules about what letter/sound combinations can and cannot exist (or are common/uncommon). For example, in English, "sp" or "st" can begin a word, but in Spanish they can't. The "ng" sound (or the voiced velar nasal if you want to get technical), can't appear at the beginning of a syllable in English, but it can in at least of third of languages around the world. English allows for consonant clusters (more than one consonant together without a vowel), but some languages, such as Hawaiian, don't. Picking a few distinctive rules that are different from English or the language you are writing in, and sticking to them, will yield a lot better results than just keysmashing.

Assign meaning to a few suffixes, prefixes, or roots. A simple and useful example of this is making up a particle that means -land or -city or -town, and tacking it onto your appropriate place names. You could also have a particle with a similar meaning to the "er/or one we have in English, such as in "baker," "singer," or "operator," and then incorporate it in your fantasy titles or professions. It's like an Easter egg for careful readers to figure out, and it will make your language/world feel more cohesive.

Focus on places and names. You usually don't need to write full sentences/paragraphs in your conlang. What you might want to do with it is name things. The flavor of your language will seep in from the background, with the added benefit of giving readers some hints on background lore. For example, you could have a conlang that corresponds to a certain group of people, and a character with a corresponding name could then be coded as being from that group without having to specify. A human-inhabited city with an elven-sounding name might imply that it was previously inhabited by elves.

You don't have to know what everything means. Unless you are Linguistics Georg R. R. Tolkien, you probably don't want to (and shouldn't!) actually make up a whole language. So stick some letters together (following your linguistic rules, of course) and save fretting over grammar and definitions for the important stuff.

(Bonus) This isn't technically conlanging, but it can be fun to make up an idiom or two for your fantasy culture (just in English or whatevs) and sprinkle that in a few times. The right made-up idiom can allude to much larger cultural elements without you having to actually explain it.

Congrats! You now have a conlang you can dust over your wip like an appropriate amount of glitter. Conlangs can be intimidating, just because there's so much you can do, but that doesn't mean you have to do it all. So yeah anyway here's what I would recommend; hope y'all have fun :D

Je suis tellement désolée. Ce post est parti complètement en roue libre. La faute à mon incapacité à ne PAS épiloguer sur le moindre détail, j’imagine...

Comme ça n’a aucun sens de démarrer sur une séquence où le mec écoute du Bach vu qu’on apprend après que ce qui l’intéresse, ce sont surtout les courses hippiques, je choisis de commencer cet épisode sur la la scène suivante, à savoir Karadec qui se montre incroyablement supportive de Morgane re sa mère, et Morgane qui se montre incroyablement vulnérable re ladite mère. Cool cool cool cool. Je viens de commencer cet épisode et j’ai déjà envie d’aller m’allonger. See this was a bad idea actually 🥵

Karadec qui souhaite le plus sérieusement du monde “bonne chance” à Morgane quand elle va voir la compta est une réplique criminally underrated. La delivery de Mehdi Nebbou est impeccable 😂

Je sais qu’on s’en fout mais la tirade sur la requête SQL n’a absolument aucun sens. Just so you know.

Morgane d’ailleurs qui parle quand même de sa prostate à Karadec dès l’épisode 3. Finalement, en contexte, qu’elle l’interroge sur sa vie sexuelle dans le 204, c’était pas du tout intrusif !

Morgane qui flirte unilatéralement avec Bonnemain devant Karadec ça fait partie de mes petits moments guilty pleasure de ce show, c’est tellement drôle !! 🤩

Morgane “C’est bon, j’sais me tenir *crache son chewing-gum*” Alvaro my beloved 😍

Je kiffe comment Karadec prend son temps et réaligne trois fois son stylo en ignorant l’avocat de Grandgeon... De façon générale je kiffe voir Karadec interroger des gens, le jeu d’acteur de Mehdi est incroyable à chaque fois 💯

Morgane et Adam qui se gueulent dessus, c’est quand même un must 🥲

Oubliez tout, Théa x négocier avec sa mère est mon nouvel OTP 😍

Morgane qui sort à Florence “Vous allez me mettre dans la merde” alors que c’est ELLE qui est allée la chercher et qui lui propose de l’héberger est profondément fascinant, la meuf se met dans la merde toute seule et elle en a conscience en plus, mais va savoir pourquoi elle se dit qu’elle y est pour rien...

Ce show s’auto-trolle, c’est pas possible, dans la scène de la compta, sur l’enveloppe ils mettent que Morgane habite au 26 et Karadec frappe au 27, ils arrivent à se contredire dans un MÊME épisode, je -- je suis démunie là 🤦

“Z’avez encore un truc à vous faire pardonner, vous” je suis TELLEMENT fan de cette scène pour ce qu’elle implique dans la dynamique Morgane/Adam même aussi tôt dans la série, et aussi parce qu’on veut PLUS d’interactions Théa / Adam, Cypriane et Mehdi ont une dynamique de jeu incroyable 🤩🤩

Morgane qui panique sur le parking quand Karadec débarque, c’est les même vibes que la Dame du Lac en mode “mais vous pouvez pas abandonner la quête du Graal et les dieux !” 😱

Perso je suis très partagée sur les scènes d’action dans HPI... D’un côté elles sont profondément ridicules, mal jouées, mal timées, mais de l’autre, j’ai un soft spot pour Action!Karadec (et clairement Morgane aussi, alors si ça peut être un catalyseur de libido Brosse Adam-esque moi je dis oui 🪥🪥🪥)

Morgane qui veut se réconcilier avec Karadec... Adam qui lui hurle dessus, mais qui ensuite est tout fier de lui expliquer qu’il a fait un achat intelligent parce qu’il est un maniaque des statistiques sur la délinquance... Morgane qui swoone littéralement parce qu’il a eu une bonne idée... C’est donc ça, des sapiosexuels ? (ou des moronsexuals, c’est pas très clair à ce stade 🤓🤓)

Alors vous apprendrez que l’immatriculation de la voiture en feu correspond à celle donnée par Céline au début de l’épisode. Tant de cohérence de la part de ce show est extrêmement surprenante, les gars vous êtes sûrs que ça va ?

Karadec qui couvre Morgane devant Céline, je -- something something il lui en veut mais ça reste entre eux, something something I’m protecting you from yourself, something something “il faudrait surtout pas que ça vous retombe dessus” MAIS BORDEL OUVRE LES YEUX MORGANE 😭😭😭

Things that remind me of: Aphrodite

Time for Aphrodite! I love her! She's like my mum! I work with her and Ares alot, I would go as far as to say that she's my matron, along with Hekate. She's so wonderful, but also absolutely terrifying, my favourite epithet of hers is Aphrodite Epitumbidia, which means She Upon The Graves. Anyway, I'm rambling, this will also probably be long. I'm glad you guys like my dumbass thought process so much 😂

Getting butterflies in your stomach bc your crush/partner/spouse walks in and your brain stops working and you can't stop admiring them and their aura and the wonderful personality you know they have and you only thought is "oh my god I wanna kiss them."

When kids have dolls and they make intricate love triangles and dramas with them, where Barbie number 12 wants to marry Ken number 6 and Ken number 3 wants to marry her instead so he pushes 6 down the stairs so he can have 12 all to himself. (Why was that so specific? 😂)

Doing romantic things impulsively. Seeing your partners favourite flowers, or sweets, or anything that reminds you of them and immediately buying it, just because you think it will make them smile.

Best friend necklaces/bracelets/rings, etc. Aphrodite is platonic and familial love, as well as romantic and sexual.

When your best friend gets their heart broken and you clench your fists and bite your lip so hard you draw blood, when all you see is red and your chest is heaving with rage because HOW DARE THEY. And if asked later, if you were the one who slashed their tyres, you smile and say no. No one believes it, but there isn't any evidence. You only slashed 3 of them, so their insurance won't cover it.

Safe sex. Aphrodite does not like unsafe sex. She lived through the times where it wasn't safe, when love and lust gave those she blessed and adored illnesses that she wasn't allowed to save them from. It makes her so angry and hurt when the sex isn't safe, because it's just an extra few seconds to use a condom and confirm that they got tested recently and it was negative before losing yourself to passion.

Feeding the birds in the park.

Stalking your friend's crush and scaring everyone because "holy fuck, you were like 10 minutes, why do you know his middle name, hospital of birth, and his aunt's 4 divorced husband's names?"

The Addams Family. Gomez and Morticia's marriage is awesome, and their unconditional love for anyone with quirks, and their habit of adopting everyone who they like and see needs a family is what my experience with Aphrodite is like. She and Ares saved me.

PET NAMES. Darling. Love. Honey. Angel. Princess. Kitten. Dear. Sweetheart. Little One. Sweetie. Doll. Baby. Babe. Bambi. All other variations! They all remind me of her and I LOVE THEM.

Flirting. The game, the push and pull, the drawing so close your breath catches in your throat before pulling away with red cheeks. The tease and the dare between you of who will snap first and kiss the other.

Grief and rage. Getting cheated on and wanting to tear someone apart with your bare hands. They see Dite as a peaceful goddess, a silly love goddess. She is the goddess of rage and war as much as Ares is. So many wars have been started over love. I admire the fuck out of her, and her temper scares me.

Cute date nights. Matching teddy bears. Stealing their clothes and spraying their perfume or aftershave on it so you can keep at least that with you when they go.

Dying your hair candy floss pink, and absolutely loving it because YOU LOOK LIKE A MARSHMALLOW.

Looking in the mirror and feeling sad bc you feel too masculine and wondering how she could love you when you're not even a girl (in my case lmao, I'm nonbinary, or any guys who worship her) or you feel like she won't love you because you're a trans woman. And you can almost hear her scolding you in that soft, motherly tone because "excuse the fuck out of you, how dare you insult my beloved like that. You're my beloved and I wouldn't have chosen you or blessed you if I didn't love you, and your gender has nothing to do with it. You're always enough for me, and I will always love you." And now you're smiling and grinning in the mirror and maybe crying because she loves us all so much guys. Yes, I'm a little emotional and possibly crying, I fucking love her.

Belladonna plants. They're so pretty but could kill you. Very good metaphor for her.

Legally Blonde. That whole movie (and the musical) are fucking masterpieces and they scream Aphrodite.

Cuddling your friends!!!!! Building huge nests with blankets and pillows and curling up together with snacks and cocktails and having an amazing night.

Historical romance novels. I read them out loud to her and her candle goes crazy!

Sea shells!

Piercings and tattoos.

Dancing with someone. Even if there isn't music, just swaying and leaning against them and it feels magical.

Bubble baths! Bath bombs! Putting flowers in your baths!

Rosehip tea.

Cuddling with teddy bears and being all warm and feeling safe. (Yes I am 20 and still sleep with a bear, there is no shame in it).

Champagne, cheap stuff or fancy. Bubbly wine make my brain go WOOOOOOOOOOO.

Chinchillas. Idk why.

Seeing your friends after a while of being apart and you're hugging and swaying and everyone around you is like AW OMG THEY'RE SO CUTE

Being so close with your friends that they think you're dating.

The pink and purple colours the sky goes when the sun is setting.

Hey Jessi (; Barbie Anon once again! So today i introduced myself to Aphrodite and it was fantastic! I think she likes the Barbie doll (: Also, i'm a Worshipper of Persephone but i asked both of them if it is okay via Tarot and i got positive as Fuck Cards and at the End a "Let's kick their Asses Girl" Card from both of them.. Also i smelled Roses. And i don't have Roses or something Rose Scentent in my home! Overall i'm so happy and i'm really looking foreward! (1/2)

Dear My Beloved Dite,

For so long I searched for a faith I could believe in. I tried so many on yet none fit right. None stirred me deep in my core. I began to think that there was nothing for me to fall to my knees for. To sink my teeth into and swallow. And then you emerged just as you first did from the seafoam that birthed you, grand, effortless, and ready to take on the world. You have given back to me what had been taken. You have healed in me what had been wounded. Within you is where I have found salvation. And it is in you where I discovered the true meaning of faith. You have blessed me with many gifts. Sooo many so, I could spend my life thanking you for each, but the greatest gift, my dearest Aphrodite,  the greatest blessing you have granted me is that now I have something to believe in.
