Am I'm getting this right was Eugene abandon as baby by his parents? The way he was talking about it to Cassandra in episode Cassandra vs Eugene was he was waiting and hoping for his parents come back but they never did. Am I right about this? If that's case that is horrible they do that to him! Also am I'm getting that Cassandra is a orphan too? So Captain just adopted Cassandra?

Eugene doesn’t remember his parents. That’s the only part that’s for sure.

We don’t know if he was abandoned or if his parents died. I am not an orphan, but media has led me to believe that kids who grow up in orphanages often dream about their parents returning for them, especially if the status of said parents is unknown.

Cassandra is definitely an orphan, and the Captain adopted her.
