I will admit, the whole idea of the Villain Recruiters plus the hosts being this big family warms my heart even though a big part of me wants to write them to grow away from each other to be their own people without anyone telling them how to live, what do you think is better? Found family or growing your roots somewhere else?
Why not both? That's what happens in real life anyway. You can have a family while also establishing yourself somewhere with someone else. It doesn't have to be linear.
Moreover, that would probably happen anyway, given that they live in different worlds. They most likely wouldn't see each other too often, but they would still have that lasting connection between them. It all depends on how you write them.

Okay imagine MC visiting a park and the sprinklers come out. The brothers are confused and amazed, MC say it periodically waters the grass but sometimes catches people off guard.
So imagine an intruder coming to HoL and out getting doused in water. Holy water that is
Basically HoL new security is holy water sprinklers.

*MC, Lilith and the demon brothers eating dinner*
Lilith: MC, I have a rhetorical question.
MC: Yes?
Lilith: If all my brothers cheated on you, what would you do?
The demons bros, choking.
MC: I would have them massacre each other.
Demon bros: !?!?
Lilith: Good choice
Demon bros: LILITH!
A/N: Of course the boys would never think of doing that. They would all rather cut of a limb and eat Solomon’s cooking that do that.

I had this thought for yandere obey me
This set in a human au where your a college student in the brink of getting broke. Your running out of job options since the customers are either rude or the management is. So you wouldn't believe your luck on one opening. It's a host job, but the pay is good, you call the manager and scheduled a meeting; you got the job
Working there is not so bad and the customers loved your humor and wit. As you go home you bumped into someone, he chide into your face to watch where you're going while you retorted with a snappy comeback, his brothers behind him snicker at your words and you continued your way home.
The manager called in asking you to entertained guests in the VIP room since one of the other host is at the hospital. You agreed but didn't expect your customers were the rude man and his brothers
A/N: If you want to use this idea, be sure to credit me.

Another yandere Obey me college human au but this time the brothers keep finding little notes in their bags. Each note is different for each brother.
Lucifer - Praises how hard he's working and how heartwarming on how caring brother he is.
Mammon - How they find his tsundere ways cute, how he's such a caring brother and he is the greatest.
Levi - They love how passionate he is with the things he loves and geeks out with him.
Satan - They loves his thirst for knowledge and recommend books and crime shows for him
Asmo - They tell him how he's such a sweet brother and jokingly tell his horoscopes.
Beel - They praise him for always looking out for his brothers and often tell him new places to eat.
Belphie - They give him ideas for pranks and like to tease him and call him sleeping beauty
The brothers have no idea how the person can slip these notes in their bag so easily. Lucifer thinks this person is buttering them up to get away with things, Belphie remarks how this person must be stalker and Mammon claims what their doing is stupid.
Suddenly it stopped, the little notes in their bag disappeared. At first it didn't bother them since it means their stalker was gone, but overtime they miss the notes, realizing how much it brighten their day a bit. It got to the point that they're trying to find the person, putting their bags at the open and waiting in the corner to catch them. It didn't work and over the month the brothers were getting restless. They were discussing in and empty classroom when they heard people outside, at first they ignored it but what came next caught their attention.
"I'm so glad you stopped doing those notes. They were scum anyway."
"Hell yeah, those assholes fucking better watch their mouths next time they call you a stalker."
"They have the audacity call you that when your trying to be kind to them."
Those words pissed them off a bit, Mammon rushed to the door, intending to give them a piece of his mind when a new voice came.
"Guys, come on the wall have ears, and yeah I'm glad I'm over them. I really did admire them, they have such a healthy relationship with each other even if they're stubborn to admit it but I know they love each other. I really liked them but it looks like it wasn't meant to be."
The brothers waited until their footsteps faded, slowly they came out one by one stunned on what they heard, and the next day they saw Mephistopheles getting little notes is the time they knew they screwed up.
A/N: If you want to expand my idea please be sure to credit me

Sooo I got back into this old fandom called Disney Villain recruiters and decided to make an OC.
This is Rune. He’s the rouge recruit. He sometimes shows up to the shows as Ms. Scatter’s replacement when she’s feeling ill. No one knows who he works under but some speculate it’s King Magnifico or Chernabog. His dice allow him to create endless possibilities of anything. Worlds, magic, items, etc. He gets hurt when he uses it too much though. He opts for magic music instead to stay safe. He’s good friends with Apple Poison and Lady Hock as he’s not as old as the other hosts but older than the other recruits. Anyway, that’s my draft OC! :) -Ace

During Halloween 2015 to 2018, at Tokyo DisneySea, a program called "Villains Recruiters" was held. While some of Disney's biggest villains have starred in events such as, the Fantasmic fireworks show and The Villains World parade. His faithful henchmen were sent to recruit people in some areas of the park.
The American Waterfront was the stage where these characters performed their speeches and jokes. Their sole purpose was to recruit humans into the world of villains, they also contained similar traits to their respective bosses, the Disney villains.
Sadly the event called "World of Villains", came to an end after four years in 2018. Recruiters had to say goodbye, not without the promise that they would return in 666 years, to seek out those who decided to join the World of Villains, in the Tower of Horror.
sнσω
During their onstage moment, none of the recruiters disappointed. Making the audience laugh a lot, they showed off their poses and made funny comments, entertaining everyone.
Initially, a dance game was performed, the Six Pose Dance, its duration was between 15 to 20 minutes and took place every hour on the American Waterfront. Alongside two hosts, six of the ten henchmen strolled through the area.
In the game, each recruiter displayed a "Signature Pose" that represented them, after the hosts would speak the name of one of the henchmen, along with the recruiters themselves the audience would imitate the pose they were shown.
Everything started to get chaotic and funny when hosts started saying random things, and recruiters got lost trying to imitate everything that was said. At the end of the game, a person from the audience was called to imitate the poses next to the henchmen and then asked whether or not they wanted to join the world of villains.
If the answer was "Yes" the recruiters would cheer up and shout for joy, then invite the person to go to the Tower of Horror in 666 Years, where they would eagerly await him. However, if the answer was "No", they would cry out in disappointment, and the disgruntled henchmen would take the person back to their place.
In 2016/2017 one more show was added, the Villains One Point Course. In this game, two of the recruiters walked around the park while playing a sort of "Rock-paper-scissors", but you had to match the pose the recruiter was doing - which was almost always their own pose.
Soon two guests would be selected and their outfits would be judged by the two new hosts, who would offer them points that would make him a worthy villain.
คмpн
The hosts are the ones in charge of presenting the show and taking care of the recruiters. There are four of them, want to meet them?
°• Mr V •°
The main presenter of Six Pose Dance. Apparently, he was also in charge of the recruiters, as they all addressed him in a formal way. Despite his similarities, he has no connection with Dr Facilier, from The Princess and the Frog.
With a rather laid-back personality, Mr V looked more like a father watching his kids make a mess he didn't need to clean up. Despite this, he was shown to be quite possessive of his assistant Mrs Scatter, whom he refused to acknowledge as a true villain.
°• Ms Scatter •°
As the show's human representative, she is constantly fawning over how beautiful and seductive the World of Villains is. Her goal is to one day join them.
In the early years she was clumsy and reckless, recruiters were always intimidating her, while Mr V controlled her. Then she became more confident, laughing with them as if they were equals and even standing up to her boss when they disagreed.
At the last show in 2018, Scatter secretly revealed to the audience the mark of a true villain, when everyone else was gone. That means she's formed a true villain, without Mr V and the recruiters knowing.
°• Ms Villa •°
One Point Course presenter and self-proclaimed fashion diva of the World of Villains. Villa is quite and laid-back while hosting her show, constantly ignoring her assistant's screams.
Villa is elegant and mature, giving the audience fashion advice on how to improve their outfits. She is also shown to be quite motherly towards recruiters, giving them nicknames and treating them like children. Even though she has the appearance of a welcoming person, she takes the audience by surprise at the end of the show, where she demands payment for her services.
°• Mr Polite •°
Mp or Polite, is Villa's assistant during the One Point Course. Despite being more organized than Scatter, he spends much of the show screaming about his boss.
When free from his chores, he is sneaky and playful. Mp gets along well with recruiters, who treat him like a personal assistant, however he doesn't seem to mind at all. But particularly, he gets along better with Dalmatia, who he usually promises to take a walk around the park after the show.
We close the first part with the hosts, soon the second will be posted with the male recruiters, finally the third with the female recruiters.
[None of the photos used above were photographed by me! I took them off the internet, unfortunately i couldn't find who photographed them. If these photos belong to you, feel free to let me know, I'll remove them or - if you allow - I'll give you proper credit]
Bye bye everyone!!!

Michael in the Mainstream: Space Jam/Space Jam: A New Legacy
I am genuinely confused, guys. Space Jam: A New Legacy has come out, and it is just getting a critical thrashing on all fronts. It is being derided as being a retread of Ready Player One, it’s being mocked as a shameless commercial, it’s being called the ‘definition of corporate’… And all of this is just baffling because this is literally no different than the original film, which was based on a commercial and just made to cash in on 90s culture. The original is a cult classic now and something of a meme in its own right, but it is undoubtedly a big fat commercial made to cash in on the times and boy did it ever because we still remember it fondly to this very day.
But I think there’s plenty of value in this new film, and I think a lot of it might be fondly remembered by younger generations down the line like the original is by people like me. What helps is that, in a lot of ways, this movie does things way better than the original… though I certainly won’t say this new film is perfect by any means. You’ve gotta go in with the mindset that this is just a dumb, silly commercial that you’re watching for cartoon antics and shameless product placement, first and foremost. Do that, and you might be able to handle all the stuff I’m about to talk about.
The obvious starting comparison for the films is the leads. Michael Jordan in the original is, to put it lightly, not an actor. He puts in a very corny performance by even the nicest definitions. But still, I think that lends him a charm all his own, and he’s not detrimental to the film at all. In fact, his lack of acting talent is easily smoothed over by the general charisma Jordan brings to his role. In comparison, LeBron James is a much better actor (though let’s not pretend he’ll be winning an Oscar any time soon), but he lacks a lot of the charisma Jordan brought to his role. That’s not to say James is weak, though; he acts just enough to bring the awkward, dorky charm of someone not an actor by trade trying their best to the role. It’s hard not to like him, at least a little bit, and he does have some decent interactions with the Tunes, though I think Jordan definitely has him beat there.
Speaking of the Tunes, they are a clear improvement over how they were in the original film. A common criticism of Space Jam is that, as fun as the Tunes were, a lot of the time they were a bit out of character, and the one newcomer (Lola) was nothing but oversexualized furry bait who existed to be a love interest and whose personality began and ended with ‘girl.’ The new movie fixes this by giving the Tunes a lot of fun, cartoonish antics that feel far more in line with how they are usually portrayed. Bugs is back to being a tricky rascal, Daffy is an egomanical jackass, and so on. Much like a lot of modern portrayals, the movie fixes Lola by amping up her badass qualities while still staying true to her original appearance by having her be good at basketball, but not to the point she overshadows everyone. There are some issues with the Tunes, such as the weird stunt casting of Zendaya as Lola and Gabriel Iglesias as Speedy instead of using their more modern voice actors, as well as using a voice for Bugs that makes him sound really off at times, but overall the Tunes are treated far more respectfully and with far greater dignity than the original afforded them (except my man Marvin, they really did him dirty in this one).
When it comes to the main villain, there is absolutely no contest here. Swackhammer is a bland, horribly forgettable corrupt corporate executive archetype with little to no interesting twists to him, and he commits cardinal sin of cinema by wasting Danny DeVito. A New Legacy, on the other hand, gives the Oscar-nominated superstar Don Cheadle a hell of a lot to do in the movie. Al-G Rhythm is a sentient computer virus who wants to capture LeBron James and use him to churn out lazy, soulless cashgrab films, and he does it all while hamming things up to the high heavens. Cheadle looks like he’s having an absolute blast, and he’s definitely one of the most fun villains in a kid’s movie in a long while (especially since Disney doesn’t seem to be able to make good villains anymore). Unfortunately, this does come at a price it seems. In the original, the opposing team is comprised of the Nerdlucks/Monstars, who all build themselves up throughout the movie as an actual intimidating threat. The opposing team here gets no buildup, being conjured up solely for the big game at the end, and while they’re not awful, they really aren’t particularly memorable either.
Speaking of the big game, I’m just gonna say it: A New Legacy blows the original completely out of the water in this regard. The cartoonish antics are through the roof and are mixed in with video game antics, Don Cheadle hams it up to the high heavens, and there are cameos from the most ridiculous array of Warner Bros. Properties you could imagine. This has become a prominent source of derision, but if you feel no joy at seeing Arnold Schwarzengger’s Mr. Freeze, the Droogs, Pennywise, and one of the nuns from The Devils doing idle animations and losing their shit over a Looney Tunes basketball game, I’m not particularly sure I care about your opinion. This is the exact sort of stupid fun I’d want from a movie like this. I’ll certainly take it over Bill Murray showing up out of nowhere for no good reason, that’s for sure.
The humor of A New Legacy far outshines the original for the reasons I mentioned with talking about the portrayal of the Tunes, but there are some issues. The montage where Bugs and LeBron recruit all the Tunes is a bit rushed, and the concept (the Tunes have migrated to other Warner properties) is really glossed over save for Daffy and Porky in the DCAU and Lola training to become an Amazon in a comic book-style take on Wonder Woman (complete with the now-iconic theme!) that really goes to show she should replace Gal Gadot. Other than them, we get Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner in Fury Road, Sylvester and Elmer in The Spy Who Shagged Me, Granny and Speedy in The Matrix, and Yosemite Sam in Casablanca, and while all of these gags are great and funny, they’re over far too quickly and could have been expanded into a whole sequence of their own rather than just a montage. I don’t know about you, but I really am far more interested in seeing what the hell Game of Thrones is like with Foghorn Leghorn as Daenerys than I am most other things in movies. It’s just a whole lot of missed opportunities. I’m less forgiving to the out-of-nowhere rap battle in the middle of the basketball game, but is it really worse than the out-of-nowhere Pulp Fiction reference in the original or, again, Bill Murray just showing up at the end?
Look, I’m not trying to say either film is some masterpiece of emotion or storytelling or anything like that, but both films have their place. The original is a fun, corny piece of 90s nostalgia that manages to be fun almost in spite of itself, while the new film is a fun, goofy spectacle that takes everything good about the first film and makes it better while still hosting problems of its own. They’re fun, flawed, amusing, and stupid commercials, and they absolutely deliver on what you want them to be. The Looney Tunes play basketball with a superstar against a bunch of crazy opponents while a cavalcade of cameos watches from the sideline… If you’re expecting anything more, you’re watching the wrong movie.

Pedro Pascal is flying high on The Mandalorian, but defining success by his earthly bonds
The Wonder Woman 1984 and The Mandalorian star is one of EW's Entertainers of the Year.
Human connection. It’s vital. Especially in a year like 2020. Especially for Pedro Pascal. So it’s ironic that the 45-year-old’s highest-profile success to date is working with an adorable animatronic puppet, inside a chrome helmet he famously can’t take off. "It is why I wanted to do this show. Selfishly, I knew [the Child, a.k.a. Baby Yoda] was likely to make people fall in love with the show," says Pascal of tackling the title role on The Mandalorian, the Emmy-nominated hit Star Wars series, which returned for its second season on Disney+ in October.
The Chilean-American actor has an eye for choosing projects where he’ll stand out, from popular network procedurals including The Good Wife, The Mentalist, and Law & Order to his breakout roles as the charming — and horny — Oberyn Martell on Game of Thrones and, soon after, DEA agent Javier Peña on Netflix’s Narcos. But it’s the stoic bounty hunter safeguarding a frog-egg-eating 50-year-old toddler that’s made him a household name. The new season of The Mandalorian followed Pascal’s galaxy-traveling warrior as he searched for the home of the Child, generating countless memes in the process.
Playing the Mandalorian has been one of the hardest and most unique experiences of Pascal's career to date. At this point, it's no secret that he wasn't physically under the helmet as much as he would've liked in season 1 and recorded his dialogue in post-production to match what his doubles, stunt actors Brendan Wayne and Lateef Crowder, did on set in the armor. Giving a largely vocal performance was a challenge for a physical actor like Pascal, who is almost unrecognizable when you compare his turns on The Good Wife and Game of Thrones, for example, because of how he carries himself. Yet, being on set way more in The Mandalorian season 2 didn't make his job any easier because he still had to figure how to make Mando compelling while also being as economical as possible in his physical movements and vocal performance.
"I'm not even sure if I would be able to do it if it weren't for the amount of direct experience that I've had with being on stage to understand how to posture yourself, how to physically frame yourself into something and to tell a story with a gesture, with a stance, or with very, very specific vocal intonation," says Pascal, who believes his collaborative relationship with creator Jon Favreau and executive producer Dave Filoni, a.k.a. his "Mandalorian papas," also helped him inhabit the role in season 2.
Speaking of collaboration: Working with comedian Amy Sedaris, who plays gruff Tatooine mechanic Peli Motto, was one of the highlights of The Mandalorian’s sophomore season. “I followed Amy Sedaris around like a puppy. [I was] like, ‘Hey again. I’m not leaving your side until you wrap,’ and she’s like, ‘Cool,’” Pascal says. “I love the Child — it really is adorable — and it is so fascinating to see it work, but somebody who makes you spit-laugh right into your helmet will always be my favorite thing."
Pascal longed for those kinds of interactions during quarantine, which proved difficult for the actor who was living alone in Los Angeles. But he lights up, is even giddy at times, when the conversation turns to bonding with the Community cast right before a charity table read back in May (he filled in for Walton Goggins), or FaceTiming his friends to celebrate Joe Biden and Kamala Harris' election victory on Nov. 7. "Ahhhh! Ahhhh!" Pascal exclaims, reenacting the joyous calls with buddies like Oscar Isaac that Saturday morning. "It was screaming and jumping and dancing and crying…. I very arrogantly took screenshots of everything and [shared them], like, 'I am a part of this!'”
"I'd be less nervous playing tennis in front of the Obamas than I was seeing a reunion of these people that I think are brilliant and have this incredible chemistry with each other and stepping in and having really, really, bad technology in this new space that I had moved into. I really resented having to actually participate acting-wise because there were instances where it was way too much fun to watch."
- PEDRO PASCAL ON SHOOTING THE COMMUNITY TABLE READ.
His appreciation for those around him has only grown during the pandemic. Before flying to Budapest to film The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent with Nicholas Cage, Pascal leaned on his bubble for support. Community's Gillian Jacobs, for example, hosted him for an outdoor socially distanced pizza night every Saturday in the early weeks of lockdown. (He suspects that's why he was recruited for the sitcom's table read when Goggins couldn't participate.) "The friends that got me through it are absolutely everything to me and very beautifully marked in my head. I've got old friends and new friends that literally did nothing short of parent me through the experience," says Pascal, who has "survivor's remorse" for being in Europe right now. "I feel guilty not being [in the States] with my friends through [this tumultuous time] but also grateful that, individually, I was able to gain a little bit of separation from the stress of it."
Those tight bonds helped redefine, or at least clarify, what success means to him. "I want to make sure that my relationships are right, and I want to make sure I'm nurturing meaning in a sustaining way, and that won't necessarily be related to getting good jobs and making lots of money," he says. But he'll take them — as he did for both of his 2020 projects, about which he's thrilled. And how could he not be, starring in two of the year's most feverishly anticipated properties?
Besides The Mandalorian, Pascal appears in Patty Jenkins' superhero epic Wonder Woman 1984, which has endured a Homeric journey to its release (read: several pandemic-related delays). Thankfully, the odyssey is almost over because Warner Bros. recently confirmed that it will open in both theaters and on HBO Max on Dec. 25. Pascal is stoked audiences will finally see his turn as the villainous Maxwell Lord because playing the greedy dream-seller pushed him out of his post-Game of Thrones action role comfort zone.
"With Wonder Woman, [Gal Gadot and Kristen Wiig] are doing the action, baby, and I'm doing the schm-acting!" he says, hilariously elongating that final syllable. "I am hamming it up!" (Indeed, Pascal reveals Cage inspired his performance in one particular scene.)
But Pascal felt he was up to the challenge because everything he needed was right there in the screenplay, which Jenkins co-wrote with Geoff Johns and David Callaham. "I didn't have to take something and figure out how to put more flesh onto it. I had to achieve getting into the skin of what was being presented to me," he says, contrasting the experience with playing a DEA agent for three seasons on Narcos. "For me, Colombia was almost the central character, and then I was allowed to make him depressive and to tonally interpret what the character was. And in this case [on Wonder Woman 1984], there was just so much for me to meet rather than to invent."
He continues: "That was an incredible delight and challenge because Patty Jenkins is a director who loves actors and when she sees she can ask for more, she does. And there isn't anyone better, in my experience, to give more to."
In 2021, he rejoins the good guys as an aging superhero and father in Robert Rodriguez's kid-friendly Netflix drama We Can Be Heroes. The inherent optimism of the Netflix film's title also complements Pascal's hope for the new year. Says Pascal, ”If [fear] can take a little bit of a backseat and not be the main character in everybody’s life, that would be great.”

Framing Doofenshmirtz
It has become a trend in recent years to come to terms with things not appearing as though they once seemed. Through childhood we were fed stories through the likes of consumerism that presented a plain take on the characterization of certain fictional characters. Specifically, what made a protagonist righteous and what made the antagonist so vile. The media fed off the simple minds of children and in our innocent, developing minds beginning to decipher the aspects of the other separate from ourselves we all conformed in agreement that doing something wrong makes you the bad guy and fighting the bad guy makes you the good guy.
In my youth I will admit that I fell victim to this. There were plenty of television shows and movies that I watched that were feats for my generation (generation Z) a majority of those being disney related. The feature films where I saw villains taking voices, keeping princesses in captivity, attempting murder with poisonous apples. However, one there was one Disney Channel cartoon in particular that made me question the notion- what made a villain truly villainous? The show Phineas and Ferb centered around two boys trying to live their summer to the fullest, the show consisted of an A and B storyline every episode. Storyline A would show the boys and their friends concocting plans to build their fun for the day while storyline B let the audience peer into the double life of the boys’ pet platypus Perry, who would travel to the laboratory of his arch nemesis Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz and foil his plans to take over the Tri State Area” using one of his evil inventions (that humorously always end in “inator”)
Throughout the show we as the audience were presented with the B storyline to showcase the virtue of Perry and his organization’s intentions in keeping the world safe, but at the expense of Doofenshmirtz and his plans always being foiled. Perry’s agency named O.W.C.A (Organization Without a Cool Acronym) is an intelligence agency run by a man named Major Monogram who recruits animal agents to keep the Tri-State Area safe from crimes of evil scientist masterminds. The threat being so grave that these animals are to assume secret identities with their host families in order to spare their livelihoods.
Dr. Doof while making a spectacle of himself and his inventions, I believe never had the intent of really hurting anybody in the way Perry’s organization thought him to be. We learn in increments his torturous backstory. He as a boy was born and brought up for most of his life in the town of Gimmelshtump, Drusselstein to parents who didn’t show up to his own birth. His family consisted of a mother who always wanted a daughter but bore two sons, a father that never saw him as man enough and a younger brother that outshone him in the eyes of everyone around him.
youtube
Essentially the typical nuclear family that despised him enough to cast him aside in the woods as a young child and leave him raised by a family of ocelots. No explanation given, but from the likes of it his family must have been desperate and under a lower socioeconomic status than they presented themselves or they simply didn’t care for him. Fast forwarding, as an adult he faced the trials and tribulations of marriage that left him with nothing but a broken heart and a daughter, fresh from divorce he worked to cohabitate with his ex wife and make sure his daughter’s life is better than his was. He took parenting to great lengths yet as she grew he became estranged and distant in attempts to join the in-group amongst her peers.
In obvious human nature his past piles up to make him the person that he became. In this case it is a matter of deciphering which direction it led him. While he does make evil inventions, that doesn’t necessarily define him as socially deviant. The degree of his crimes are not with the intent to end lives or cause harm upon others deliberately, he only has one true goal and it is brewed within the parameters of conflict theory. He wants to take down his younger brother who he believes has stratified himself as higher than his brother all his life. His brother who has been elected mayor who has never taken his job as seriously as he should but gets by on the fact that he is handsome. Pretty privilege has run his life and in the midst, left Doofenshmirtz at a disadvantage in the equality of the outcome. There was always something fundamentally keeping Doofenshmirtz from the chance of equal opportunity.
While I will agree that his methods of achieving equality or at least a semblance of what he was denied all his life is a bit unethical, his intentions are built on self preservation and not out of malice. That should not mark him as a super villain, it should elicit that someone listen to what he has to say and air his grievances out in a healthier way. His whole life has been trading one form of abuse to another. Whether that be being outcast by his own kinship, or falling victim to his brother’s exertion of hegemonic masculinity to get into higher politics he doesn’t deserve the further abuse that O.W.C.A inflicted on him. They invade his privacy by spying on him and instead of taking the necessary measures to ensure the “violence” they have deemed him constantly guilty of stops, they barge into his own home (warrantless) , beat him and damage his intellectual property that also simultaneously ends up almost harming the lives of the children in the A storyline.
Rather than villainize Doofenshmirtz, we should see him as a victim of circumstance. He needs outlets that O.W.C.A should provide instead of taking such violent measures to stop him since it clearly doesn’t work. How many times do they do the same process of Perry being called and sent to Doof’s home to find him in a predicament with one of his inventions, tricks him and ends up beating him up and destroying his invention. It’s the same song and dance, and they as an agency should see that the repeated approach is clearly not solving their problems. Doof is troubled and needs help, since his inventions are always backfiring it’s also clear he’s never going to actually succeed with his plans anyway.

Disney Villains Recruiting: An Introduction
Better late than never, I hope? There’s a few out there already, and I’m way too late considering the shows are over, but here’s my take on a introduction to the world of Tokyo Disney’s Villains Recruiting program.
This introduction includes a run down of the show and its amazing characters that took social media by storm.
If you’ve the courage to seek true beauty of elegance than proceed… into the Villains World.
All photos in this post were taken by myself, please do not repost on other blogs, websites or social media networks such as Twitter or Instagram!
The Concept
During the years 2015-2018, Tokyo Disneysea’s Halloween celebrated the wonderful world of Disney’s famous Villains. While the main Villains like Maleficent and Ursula dominated parades such as The Villains World and the night fireworks of Fantasmic!, their team of underlings were sent to work in the smaller parts of the park.
So every Halloween, the area of American Waterfront rolled out a red carpet and welcomed ten unique characters, each based off a famous Disney Villain, who’s sole purpose was to recruit humans into the Villains World. The program was known as Disney Villains Recruiting.
The Show
The original show, with a game known as the Six Poses Dance itself was a 15-20 minute skit that took place every hour or so at American Waterfront. Six of the ten ‘Recruiters’ would come out, along with two hosts, meaning in order to catch all ten characters, you would have to make multiple visits to the park.
Each Recruiter quickly introduced themselves and showed off a unique pose that represented them. Then the show becomes a game of Simon Says where the hosts will call out a Recruiters name and guests must respond with the correct pose. The game usually became chaotic when the hosts starting yelling out random things and guests could watch the Recruiters scramble to match whatever was being asked for them.
Finally, a guest would be picked out of the audience to participate in the game alongside the Recruiters. At the end of the game, the guest would be asked if they have now been convinced to come join the Villains World. If they say no, there would be a loud cry of disappointment and the disgruntled Recruiters would drag the guest back to their seat. If yes, after the yelps of joy, the guest would be asked to return to the Tower of Terror in 666 years where the Recruiters would be eagerly waiting for them.
In 2016-2017, a second show, called Villains One Point Course was introduced to rotate with the now Special Pose Dance show. Each show only consisted of two Recruiters, six would appear throughout the day. Similar to before, the two present Recruiters would introduce themselves and their pose before going into a game similar to Rock Paper Scissors, except you had to match the pose the Recruiter was doing- which was almost always their own pose so it wasn’t hard to get it right. Two guests would then be selected and have their outfits judged by two new hosts who would then offer one point that would make them Villain Worthy.
In 2018, the show returned to its original format of the Six Pose Dance and the One Point Course, along with its hosts, did not return.
The Hosts
Mr. V
Known as the grandmaster of the program, Mr. V is the lead host of the original Six Pose Dance show. He appears to be in charge of the Recruiters and they all speak to him with respect, sometimes calling him Mister or V-san for short.
He is a rather relaxed character much like a father watching all his chaotic children make a mess he doesn’t have to clean up. More often than not he keeps to himself in the background while the others perform, only ever speaking up to scold them or laugh at them when they make a mistake.
Mr. V is however rather possessive of his assistant, Ms Scatter, who, despite her years of hard work, he refuses to acknowledge her as a real Villain.
Despite the similarities in their designs, this character has no relation with Dr. Facilier from the Princess and the Frog.
Ms. Scatter
Scatter is the human representative of the show and represents in the audience in that she is constantly fawning over how beautiful and enticing the Villains World looks from the outside and her own goal is to one day join them. In the early years she runs around interrupting the Recruiters, calling out to guests to not be deceived by their wickedness despite how gorgeous and tempting it may be.
She is the one character that goes through considerable character growth over the course of the four years and her costume also changes slightly each year. In the beginning, she is reckless and clumsy, the Recruiters picked on her, bullied her and Mr. V very much controlled her. By the end she laughed with them as though they were equal and spoke back to Mr. V whenever she disagreed with him.
In the 2018 show, the Villains offered recruited guests a flag with the mark of a true Villain which they would be granted when they return in 666 years. At the end of the show, as the Recruiters left, Scatter would stay behind and reveal to the audience the mark of a true Villain which was on the inside of her jacket. When Mr. V comes to chase her about what’s taking her so long, she hides the mark and turns to the audience, signalling them to keep her secret. This suggests that even without Mr. V and the others knowing, she has graduated into a real Villain.
Ms. Villa
Host of the One Point Course, Ms Villa is the self proclaimed fashion diva of the Villains World. She is stylish and mature, strutting around offering advice to guests on how to better their outfits.
She is very much in her own world as she parades around the show, completely ignoring the panicked cries of her assistant whenever she rambles off about an idea that is clearly unrealistic. To the Recruiters however she is rather motherly, giving them pet names and teasing them like children.
While she holds a very welcoming aura, she always catches the audience by surprise at the end of the show where she demands payment for her services.
Mr. Polite
Known as MP or Polite for short, he is Ms Villa’s assistant during the One Point Course show. He is more put together than Scatter but also spends a lot of the show yelling after Ms Villa.
When left to his own accord, MP is sneaky and playful, even over confident in himself but his job is mostly to keep Ms Villa from going over the top with the guests so that is his main focus. He seems more well informed of the human world, unlike the other Villains and has to reign them in when they’re being unreasonable such as asking him to buy them snacks from the park.
He gets along well with the rest of the Recruiters who all treat him as their own personal assistant, something he does not seem to mind. He gets along particularly well with Daru who he usually promises to take on a walk after the show.
The Recruiters
Apple Poison
Themed off the poison apple used to put Snow White into an eternal sleep, Apple works for the Evil Queen from the film Snow White.
Tall, dark and handsome, Apple has the most mature look of the men’s Recruiters, and coming from the oldest Disney animated him, he is teased by his workmates and guests alike for being the family ‘uncle’ or ‘old man’. There are many times where he also has trouble keeping up with the right poses or falls from pranks by the others, showing he’s also quite naive.
Apple is the most charming of the men’s Recruiters, his quotes usually laced with cheesy offers of escorting guests or sweeping them away. He normally keeps to himself while the others are running around, though his ongoing rivalry with Jack brings out a more immature side to him.
He is also the best English speaker of the cast as his main quotes are also half in English and he often lectures guests in English as well. He is constantly blowing kisses to guests or his prop posing apple, drawing out squeals of excitement from guests.
Quotes 🍎Ladies and Gentlemen, one bite of this sweet apple with make you the most beautiful in the world. 🍎Like how the poison intoxicates this apple, allow me to intoxicate you all.
Jack Heart
Hailing from Wonderland, Jack works for the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. He makes jokes of turning back into a playing card so it can be assumed he is the personification of the jack of hearts card.
Jack is known as the entertainer of the Villains World and he is indeed very entertaining to watch. While the others strut along the red carpet, Jack is always seen skipping around, cutting corners and getting right into the faces of guests. Even when standing in one spot he is usually stretching strangely or contorting for the enjoyment of the guests.
As a super playful character, Jack gets along best with Dalmetia who he calls his best friend. The two get along very well and walk around linking arms and high-fiving each other all the time. On the flip side, Jack seems to down right hate Apple who he will taunt and make faces at. While it’s not clearly stated why their relationship is so bad, it seems to purely because Jack hates Apple for being so much taller than him.
He is also one of the only Recruiters that does not react happily at the mention of their Master; instead, when the Queen of Hearts is brought up, Jack usually hides in fear, clutches his neck in case he’ll be beheaded or runs away.
Quotes ❤️My world it the world of entertainment! And that’ll make your heart go- Aow! ❤️Like how Alice found Wonderland, so long as you all hold darkness in your hearts, I’ll appear before you again just like the Cheshire Cat.
Mr. Dalmetia
A puppy given a human body by his Master Cruella De Vil from the film 101 Dalmatians.
Mr. Dalmetia, Daru for short, is an excitable and selfish character who is usually chasing after his best friend Jack or running away from Scar. He teases everyone, friends and guests alike in a crude manner, sticking his tongue out at people or pushing over their toys. Some of the others tease him with games of fetch and he will go sprinting across the performance area, then return extremely grumpy when he realises he’s been duped.
While Daru and Jack are best friends, Daru generally gets along well enough with the rest of the men’s Recruiters. Scar, from the ladies team, is obviously madly in love with him- a feeling he does not reciprocate. For four years, he runs from her, turns her down her advances and down right rejects her any chance he gets. However, at the end of 2018, while hesitant, he agrees to wait alongside her until the guests come see them again in 666 years.
He is the very embodiment of a puppy and even Mr. V comments during his introduction that he’s yet to shake all his canine habits; he is sometimes caught sitting like a dog, scratching his neck as though there’s a collar there and bugging the others after the show to take him for a walk.
Quotes 🐶This is my WAN-derful pose! 🐶Everyone, you have to look after your cute little pets. After all... it is common enough to wear fur here, right?
Malfie
Holding his Master in the highest regard is Malfie who works for Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. His name has also been romanised by fans as Malfi, Malfy or Malefy- while Malfi is likely most directly accurate, I personally am too use to writing it as Malfie, though none of the above would be considered incorrect.
The most narcissistic of the Recruiters, even dubbed Nar-fie, Malfie carries a hand mirror around with him at all times so that he can always admire his own beauty. On the off chance one of the other members manages to sneak away with the mirror, he becomes uncharacteristically frantic until he can find it again.
While Malfie does not love anyone like he loves himself, he gets along with a majority of the other characters fairly well, particularly Joe and Farja. He is also the most popular victim when the ladies decide to start bullying the men’s team- Farja, despite the fact that she and Malfie get along, is most likely to lead the charge in picking on him.
Malfie is in canon the personification of a crow, whether or not he is Maleficent’s crow that appears in the movie is unclear. He does however, consider Diaval from the live action movie Maleficent his rival in beauty.
Quotes 😈It is I! 😈Beauty like mine could grant you whatever you wished for; money, love... even the wish to become a Villain!
Eight-foot Joe
A dedicated worker for the sea-witch Ursula from the Little Mermaid is Eight-foot Joe. His introduction suggests that he is in fact hiding his extra legs which leads fans to conclude he is an actual octopus.
Joe is the tired office worker of the group, the only one that treats the program as the job that it is. Based off Ursula’s business as the sea-witch, Joe’s introduction includes him launching into what likes a rehearsed speech advertising Ursula’s services. When not at the microphone, Joe is usually hiding behind guests or sitting down somewhere away from the red carpet.
Of all the Recruiters, Joe is the most crass. He speaks rudely to guests, usually telling them off about one thing or another. He teases the other Recruiters but can rarely be caught sharing a laugh with them. Like Jack, his reactions to mentions of his Master are usually of fear, likely because he is overworked and insulting Ursula will only result in more work for himself.
In the early years he was very vocal about how tired he was and how he did not need friends, but the end of 2018’s season saw him the most emotional and commenting on how he wishes he had more time with them.
Quotes 🐙What is it that burdens you? Some human trouble? Or perhaps... a burden of love? 🐙I hope you all have an oct-ful... I mean, wonderful day.
Lady Pirate Hock
Working for the infamous Captain Hook from the world of Peter Pan is Lady Pirate Hock. She is, without a doubt, most popular amongst her fellow ladies Recruiters.
Hock is the most suave and flirtatious of the ladies Recruiters, though her wiles are only ever directed at either the ladies or female guests. Scatter, Veil, Farja and Hades can all be caught swooning over her and fighting for her attention when she offers to escort any of them after the show. Even amongst the men’s team she is known to be handsome and popular.
While her overall character is extremely charming and almost prince like, she has an endearing childish side that usually shows when she’s picking on the men’s team or running off with their props. Having said that, she is extremely protective of the ladies team, particularly Veil, when the men retaliate.
For the longest time I mistook her name for Hook, but after some fact checking, it can be confirmed that her English romanisation would be Hock.
Quotes ⚓️The sun shines brightly again today... oh sun, your light is not what I need today. What I need is the beautiful light of the moon. ⚓️The sun’s light is dazzling, but what dazzles me most right now ... are all your beautiful smiles.
Veil
The Hunchback of Notre Dame’s Villain, Frollo, has Veil has his underling. Though not specially stated, there have been instances where she alludes to the fact that she may be the bell a top the Notre Dame.
If Veil were present on any particular day, you would hear her coming long before they reach the performance area. She also carries a small hand bell with her that she rings loudly as she walks around, much to the dismay of some of her fellow cast members. Though if the men complain she tends to ring it more loudly in their ear.
She is the most refined of and of the cast, speaking formally to everyone else and walking with a grace not seen in the others. She is closest with Hock whom she appears to have a crush on, blushing whenever they hold hands. However every time Jack approaches her, she quickly and harshly brushes him off. When asked why, she claims it is because Jack makes fun of her pose.
Veil has the voice of an angel, she often breaks into the song halfway through her introduction, needing Scatter to stop her and remind her to please teach the audience her pose.
Quotes 🔔This bell that was bestowed upon me by Master Frollo will surely shake your heart 🔔God help the outcasts, children of God.
Pretty Scar
Taking on the same name as her Master is Pretty Scar, working for the Lion King’s Scar. She is what one could call the black sheep of the family because despite being a Villain, she values all things that are considered cute and pretty. She runs around pouting dramatically looking for compliments which all the other Recruiters find unfitting of a Villain.
When introduced by the hosts, it’s said Scar is disliked by all the other Recruiters and during her own speech she the others are always looking for places to hide or pushing each other closer so that they do not have to listen to her. When interacting with the others she is mostly the one pushing herself onto them, Jack being one of the few that won’t completely turn her away.
She is also madly in love Mr. Dalmetia, despite him always turning her down she does not let up. She is always chasing after him and attempting to cling to him, calling him her ‘Darling’. While the other ladies Recruiters don’t seem to pay much attention to her love for Daru, when Daru finally agrees to stay with her, Farja and Hock who were present congratulated her.
Based on the fact that Jack calls her ‘Hyena-Girl’ it can be assumed she is the personification of a hyena, similar to the group of hyenas that work for her Master.
Quotes 🐱Hmph, hmph! I’m grumpy today because no one’s called me cute! Ah! That feels good! 🐱Darling!
Farja
Flying in from Agrabah is Farja who works for Jafar from the film Aladdin. Her most prominent features are her flowing black and red hair and flowing dress that she shows off on the red carpet.
Farja is easily the most bratty of the ladies Recruiters, if the audience does not give her an impressed enough reaction to her magic tricks she will complain really loudly and gesture for more applause. When watching the others, if they mess up or do anything silly she is first to laugh really loudly. On the other hand, if something does not please her she tends to scream in a person’s face until whatever is upsetting her stops.
She gets along quite well with the other ladies Recruiters, excluding Scar, and is one of the members that swoons of Hock all the time. She often fights for Hock’s attention and laughs excitedly when Hock escorts her to and from the show.
While she screams out angrily whenever Iago is mentioned, it does seem she is based off the parrot which explains why she gets along with Malfie who is a crow.
Quotes 🌹Isn’t my magic simply amazing? In happy times and sad times, remember it and your heart will bloom too! 🌹Villains Sassoon!
Ms. Hades
Once again taking the name of her Master Hades from Hercules, is Ms Hades. Unlike her hotheaded Master, she is the most indifferent of the ladies Recruiters.
She believes in just letting people do as they please because she too wants to just let people do as they please and not carry any of the responsibility. She acts like a tired mother watching her chaotic children as the other Recruiters run around messing with each other.
While she is possibly the quietest member of the entire team and the most professional. While she may not be as vocal as the others though, she is often with them admiring each other’s props or fighting for Hock’s attention. At any mention of her Master though she becomes extremely excited and waves enthusiastically to decorations in his image.
Even though she does not seem to notice it, whenever she high fives or gets too close to the other members, they tend to back away as though they have been burned, after which she follows them curiously causing them to run away faster.
Quotes 🔥Entering this world without permission… do as you please. I turn a blind eye… as I please. 🔥In human terms you could call it liberation, call it freedom!

The Eternals cast made an appearance at D23, with concept art of their costumes, and it was officially confirmed that Gemma Chan is joining the cast as Sersi and KIT HARINGTON is officially joining as BLACK KNIGHT / Dane Whitman🤩💫💫
The Eternals are an immortal alien race created by the Celestials who are sent to Earth to protect humanity from their evil counterparts, the Deviants.✨
In the comics, Dane Whitman inherited a mystical sword that carried a family curse - he took the Black Knight name to help restore honor to their family legacy & was a long time member of the Avengers in the comics (very on brand for you Kit). Sersi is a member of the Eternals, & had a romantic relationship with Dane Whitman / Black Knight in the comics.🖤

Two new additions to the voice cast are: Sterling K Brown who will voice a character called Lieutenant Mattias, and Evan Rachel Wood who will voice Elsa and Anna’s mother. The attendees at D23 got to see some footage & heard some of the music (& apparently it’s very catchy) Frozen 2 hits theatres this November!❄️
RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON🐉
Disney just announced an original new animated film in the works, Raya and the Last Dragon!🐉 The movie is described as a combination of classic Disney and kung-fu movies, but also Disney meets Game of Thrones. The film is set in a mysterious land called Kumandra, & the region is split into five sections, and Raya is a warrior on the search for the last dragon in the world.🐉 Here’s the concept art & logo - Cassie Steele is voicing Raya and Awkwafina will voice the last dragon. The movie is set to be released Thanksgiving 2020!
Here are the final bits of news from yesterday’s Walt Disney Studios panel at D23!
BLACK PANTHER 2🐾 No official title yet but the release date is set for May 6, 2022, with Ryan Coogler set to return as writer & director.
BLACK WIDOW🕸D23 attendees were shown a teaser trailer for BLACK WIDOW twice so far during D23. A 4-second clip leaked but Disney is taking it down. We also know Black Widow takes place following the events of Captain America: Civil War, as she finds herself on her own & forced to deal with “some of the red in her ledger”. It stars David Harbour stars as Red Guardian (a Russian super-soldier), Florence Pugh plays Yelena (a sister-figure to Natasha), and Rachel Weisz plays a Red Room spy. The movie is currently filming & is scheduled to be released May 2020!
JUNGLE CRUISE🍃D23 attendees were shown footage/a trailer for Jungle Cruise, an upcoming Disney live action film based on the popular Disney Parks attraction of the same name. There are apparently lots of references to the ride that it’s based on. The film is set during the early 20th century, where a riverboat captain named Frank takes a scientist and her brother on a mission into a jungle to find the Tree of Life which is believed to possess healing powers. The film stars Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Jack Whitehall, Paul Giamatti, Edgar Ramirez, and Jesse Plemons. Jungle Cruise is set to hit theaters July 2020.
MULAN⚔️The live action adaptation of Mulan was discussed at the panel today, showing attendees clips that include the matchmaking scene & the recruitment of the Emperor’s army. Apparently lots of the animated film’s shots are recreated and the film feels like a Chinese epic. It only has instrumental music from the animated film, and Mushu and Li Shang will not be in it. Mulan is set to hit cinemas March 27, 2020.🏮

A fun idea /a question if you want, have you ever thought doing names/personalities of the DVR Hosts? Like, I've seen the most popular backstory of Miss Scatter is she was always isolated by her peers due to her nature and her parents were never there until she was offered a job by Mr V
I have, actually! I was thinking about making pages for them after a break on the subject.
A problem I might have, though, is that the recruiters themselves were much, MUCH easier to write about than the hosts. I'll need to think a bit harder for them, plus I want to bring fresh ideas to the table.
But I've definitely added this to my to-do list! Once I'm done fixing and adding to the first few pages (A.K.A. Apple, Jack, Malfie, etc.), I'll start on Mr. V.
Thank you for your question! 💗💗

Mortal Kombat Akademy
In between my work on the 31 Days of Original Characters challenge, I've begun to revisit my plans for the big Mortal Kombat story I'd wanted to do for awhile; Mortal Kombat Akademy. I've done a lot of character busts with backstory info and I did a sort of "season one" plots but this is something I'm not really satisfied with anymore. I'm gonna spend the new year trying to readjust and rework the overall story and characters to something more workable. Here's a few odds and ends of what I've planned so far;
Story Outline
Shaolin Monks, Lui Kang and Kung Lao, are recruited into the Mortal Kombat Akademy, the secret fighting school located on the island paradise of international crimelord, Shang Tsung. But those who step foot on the island are subjected to terrors beyond comprehension once they learn the true purpose of the school; a training ground for the soldiers of an interdimensional tyrant who conquers by use of a fighting tournaments ordained by the gods themselves. But one of the gods, Raiden, is willing to give Earth a fighting chance by training as many chosen Earthlings as he can so they may finally defeat the forces of evil in the Mortal Kombat tournament.
Kinda bare bones but for plot synopsis go, it helps me sort of make a launching pad for the ideas. Like my original idea, the story is still primarily about Lui Kang and Kung Lao going to the school and meeting/befriending the typical heroes of the Mortal Kombat world, Raiden being their mentor and Shang Tsung being the big bad to overcome.
But the story ideas I had just don’t really cut it for me now. I feel as though I was sort of putting the cart before the horse by putting so much time making elaborate details instead of snowballing one idea to make a big bright idea. I’ve made some titles for them;
Start the Semester!
Tour the Akademy!
Prepare for the First Exams!
Bond Like Your Lives Depend On It!
Learn the Fatalities!
Wills and Testaments!
Survive the Detetionrealm!
Survive the First Round of Exams!
Survive the Second Round of Exams!
Survive the Last Round of Exams!
Party Your Asses Off!
Mortal Kombat Akademy V. The DC Universe: Dawn of Pain!
To give some context to them, I had a storyarc planned; Early on, Raiden would want the Earthrealm class (the class would have Kang, Lao, Johnny, Sonya, Jax, Stryker and Nightwolf) to be friends and allies in order to survive the matches and save the world. Easier said than done when so many personalities were clashing together. And once they learn about fatalities, the class goes through some mental anguish over having to kill or be killed, Kang being the only one vowing to never kill anyone, to the disbelief of everyone else. Things start looking up once the class starts to trust and respect one another and become stronger fighters.
But Kano, on the behalf of Goro’s Class (Mileena, Kitana, Jade, Baraka, Sheeva, Skarlet, Reptile, Tanya and Kano himself) frames Sonya and Johnny for a crime, leading to Professor Quan Chi to exile them to the “Detention Realm” where his goons, Drahmin and Moloch, deal out the punishments. My idea for them that they’d be bumbling and dim so Johnny and Sonya could escape them, bonding while trying to make it to the final exams. Everyone but Kang and Lao have been defeated and since Sonya and Johnny were late, it’d all be up to them to beat Goro. Once Goro beast Lao half to death, Kang faces his fears and manages to defeat Goro without killing him, but not without making him suffer for all the pain he’s caused.
The class’ reward for passing the exams is an-all expense paid vacation to Edenia, which is basically a hellhole built to Shao Kahn’s pleasure. Here, Kang and Kitana get some alone time to romantically connect to one another during the celebratory feast hosted by Kitana and Mileena’s parents, Shao Kahn and Sindel. But really, the feast is for the Kahns to asses the threat that Raiden’s students hold to their long term plans. And finally, the DCU story is just a fun breather where I have the mid-1990s versions of their heroes (Superman with a mullet, Batman Forever styled Batman and the two Wonder Women, Artemis and Diana, for example).
And after rereading what I had for plots, I noticed how little the Lin Keui featured into the stories since I designed a lot of them for the series. Should try to fix that somehow.
Overall Art Style
As I stated in previous MKA concept art, I based the art style on the look of Steven Universe. I still intend for the project to be written fanfiction, but I do wish to have some elements of it to be drawn by myself. Not a full adaptation but maybe a full page illustration of each chapter, along with the general character/environment sketches, or like the ending credits of The Mandalorian series.
But back to the art style, I wish to change it. I can’t really go further on the style of Steven Universe if this story is going to be about such heavy violence and gore. It wouldn’t really look right, might cross over into unintentional hilarity or into the uncanny valley. I’m looking at something like the artist One, the man behind One Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100 whose style is really unique, fast, sketchy and frenetic, all attributes I think will work well. I also love the anime aesthetic of the 1990s so that’s definitely a goal to achieve since I’m setting the story in 1995.
Story Ideas To Keep
* Koins: My idea for an in-canon reason for the koins you win in matches (at least in Mks 9-11, IDK how far back they go) to unlock Krypt stuff will be used as a way for the students to buy things like food, clothing and resurrections due to being killed by another student’s fatalities since its primarily a learning facility instead of a battlefield. Though if you’re broke, you’re not gonna be saved. Koins, like in the games, will be given for performing a fatality and a moral choice comes up when you think “do I do good and be paid less, or do something terrible but get more chances of being resurrected if I die?”
*Profiles: I’ve got to do some rewrites for the characters. Nothing too too major since I do like a lot of what I wrote, but its more to streamline it to fit in the new direction I’m doing. Like, having Sonya, Jax and Stryker being Hall Monitors, I don’t think something like that is gonna be part of my story since I’m trying to take it a tad more seriously. The idea of Detention Realm and having Dharmin and Moloch as lovable henchmen is still canon, as far as I’m concerned. Think the two mice henchmen from the film “Flushed Away”. And on a final note, the newly retconned origin for Sindel...that shit isn’t gonna be part of my story.
Overall, whatever backstories that’ll be changed will likely be on a case by case basis. No telling who or what will be changed right now, but I’ve now thought of some parts to start with.
Diversity and Inclusion
This one is probably gonna be one of the hardest to accomplish since I really want to make the series really diverse with body types, genders and sexuality, race, neurodiversity, that type of subject matter. Inclusion is really important to me, and I’m scared how I might screw it up like how Disney, JK Rowling, SNL, Simpsons, Big Mouth, Voltron so many more screw it all up since they all serve the needs of the capitalist, neoliberal status quo over the voices of the marginalised.
And with that, brings up some more challenges. Will I make so many diverse original characters that they take time away from the canon characters? Should I make more canon MK characters differently diverse?
I'm also planning on having the characters display prejudices and bigotries but I'm scared I'll go in too much of "Bright" territory, if you know what I mean.
Tackling Mature Content
I mean, it goes without saying that the series is going to be full of violence and gore since that’s basically in the DNA of Mortal Kombat in the first place. But there’s much more serious topics I want to try to write. Like the effects of abuse, queer rights, the above themes about diversity and inclusion, the seemingly never ending war and the ideas of the long defeat. Of course, my chapters will be marked with as clear as possible content warnings, those are important.
A Shared Universe
A month ago, I watched a video about Midway trying to recreate the success of Mortal Kombat into other fighting games. The video, “Remember when Midway tried to copy Mortal Kombat?” talked about three would-be franchises of Midway fighting games; Mace: The Dark Age, War Gods and Bio FREAKS. After watching the video and reading about the games, I think it’d be good for lore if they were integrated into my story. Mace and War Gods could be used as part of the backstory of the series. Like the idea of the Earthrealm Kombatants being the descendants of the characters of Mace and War Gods, maybe Raiden was involved with the later, I’m not sure. Bio FREAKS could be latter used if I go into a time travel story. Maybe a mix of the game and the story/characters of Mortal Kombat X. As for Midway’s other successful but overlooked franchise, Killer Instinct, that is probably going to be the most recurring element in the shared universe. UltraTech, the main villains of the series would be the people behind such things as Kano’s cyborg eye, the Lin Keui’s Cyber Initiative and being the rulers of Neo-Amerika in the Bio FREAKS timeline. I also wrote in the profiles of Nightwolf and Sub-Zero that the Killer Instinct universe is linked to my story (one of his divorced parents is dating one of the parents of KI’s Black Eagle and Thunder while Glacius was an alien that helped give Cryomancers their powers).
And on a side note, there is another Midway MK clone called Primal Rage, which I swear I had one of the toys based on it and saw a parody of it on an episode of Dexter’s Laboratory. Its pretty gruesome, its a bunch of savage Kaiju in a post-apocalyptic earth that resembles the stone age. Probably an alternate timeline/dimension if I use it in my series. Who knows, maybe elements of the worlds of Street Fighter and or God of War could make an appearance...
Writing the Damned Thing
Probably the absolute hardest part of this entire thing. I struggle with actually keeping attention to writing since I’m primarily a visual artist and it feels terrible to not even follow through on any idea I have and it just kinda sits and collects dust in my brain. If its sketching and rendering, I can do it. If its writing shit down, I just have executive dysfunction when it comes to it. I never know where to start writing it, how to continue writing it, how to finish it or how to put it all together cohesively.
I can’t do this without at least writing the complete first season, if I do it on a semi-regular basis, nothing is going to be done. Even like, less than a week of non-recurring writing is like a poison to me. I don’t know how, but if I make room for an hour or two of writing a day every day might help me get more prepared for longer writing.
In Conclusion
When will the first chapter be done? I don’t know. When will I start writing? Hopefully as soon as I can. I can try to post updates or work in progresses, but that’s still a pipe dream, in my honest opinion. But I want to make progress in 2020, I need to make a difference and to actually make this coming year worthwhile.

Despite being joined by her sophisticated, bifurcated robot friend One-One (voiced by Jeremy Crutchley and Owen Dennis), the only information Tulip has about her predicament comes in the form of an ever-changing, glowing number etched into her hand that’s trying to give her directions she doesn’t understand.
The official premiere date of the series has yet to be announced.

Disneyland Halloween: 5 things to check out
It’s that time of the year. Halloween is upon us, and nobody celebrates it quite like Disney. If you’re planning a trip to Disneyland this month, here’s a list of five things to keep an eye out for (in no particular order):
1. Cars Land (aka. Radiator Screams) (DCA)
Cars Land is the crown jewel of Disney California Adventure (DCA). Home to one of the most popular attractions, Radiator Springs, this land is an amazing place to walk through on a normal day. Now, the town has come to celebrate Halloween in a way only cars can. Check it out during the daytime where you can see lug wrench spiders or posters of Car versions of Halloween classics. Then, come back at night to see the town lit up. Check out the zombie car impaled by a tree. If you wait long enough, the car will beep and play a haunting radio music. Then, take a look at the ofrenda for Doc Hudson (as made famous by Coco). If you’re a fan of the Cars movies, you’ll recognize many references. On top of that, the characters come out in Halloween costumes. Mater is a vampire. Red is a clown. Lightning is a superhero.
2. Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare (Disneyland)
Since 2001, the Haunted Mansion has been transformed into this special version, themed after the Nightmare Before Christmas. Jack and his friends from the movie have taken residence in the mansion, turning it into their twisted take on Christmas. The stretching room has been updated with some great effects. The classic characters from the Mansion remain, such as the Ghost Host, Madame Leota, and the dancing ghosts. But we also see Jack as Sandy Claws, Zero, and many of the characters from the movie. Songs such as “This is Halloween” and “Kidnap the Sandy Claws” are mixed in with Halloween versions of Christmas classics. This is one of the best overlays to a classic ride. While carrying some familiar elements to the original, Holiday Nightmare carries a very distinct look and feel. It works as both a Halloween and Christmas ride, and it’s definitely worth checking out.
3. Halloween Screams Fireworks (Disneyland)
Nobody does fireworks like Disney. Fireworks light up the sky while animation projects onto the castle. This time, the villains take center stage as Jack (from Nightmare Before Christmas) hosts. Compared to Disney’s other firework shows, it’s okay. Not my favorite, but still worth checking out. It’s entertaining, and it’s unique to this time of year. Be sure to get there early as standing room fills up quickly.
4. Guardians of the Galaxy: Monsters After Dark (DCA)
If you’re a fan of the Guardians of the Galaxy ride, you’ll enjoy this Halloween overlay. After the events of Breakout, Groot had been left behind, and all the monsters have been loosed. Rocket recruits you to help rescue his friend. It’s a nice Halloween addition to make your visit extra special.
5. Halloween Food (Disneyland & DCA)
Another advantage of going to Disney during the holiday seasons is to check out the unique foods only available during these times. If you’re a churro fan, you may want to check out the orange sugar churro with candy corn sauce. Or the pumpkin spice churro with cream cheese frosting. Or perhaps the Maleficent churro covered with cookie crumbs. There are many other Halloween sweets to choose from, such as spider bundt cakes, pumpkin spice Mickey beignets, graveyard cupcakes, or spider macaroons. Perhaps you’d like something more savory, like a haunted hotdog, anti vampire pizza, or cosmic chili pasta. Then, top it down with Oktoberfest beer or green apple spell lemonade. No matter where you go, you should be able to find some unique Halloween treats to satisfy your ghoulish sweet tooth.
As a quick note: I know I didn’t mention Space Mountain’s overlay, Ghost Galaxy. I’m personally not a big fan. Nothing wrong with the ride. I’m sure there are many fans out there. As far as overlays go, this one doesn’t really add much to the experience. Especially when compared to Hyperspace Mountain, which is one of my personal favorite versions of any ride. Ghost Galaxy is fine if you’d like to experience the ride structure of Space Mountain. I wouldn’t consider it worth waiting in line for.
