We went to Disneyland Paris!!

Little Diablo had to come along of course!

It turned out so cute!

The Twilight Zone's tower of terror was amazing! I live for the entire story around it and despite my crippling fear of heights, we went in twice!

There were too many reminders in this park...

The blacklights in the Marvel rollercoaster added to my go-glow! (RIP Aerosmith's rock 'n' rollercoaster. You'll forever be missed.)

He really liked the K'NEX fences in Toy Story Playland. I wonder if kids nowadays still know what this is. I don't see it in stores anymore... Are we old?

Both parks were so spectacular during the night!

Dinner was delicious (though I'm pretty sure that that octopus and pineapple salad gave me food poisoning...)

Did you know?

There were a boatload of easter eggs compressed into that closing segment during the season finale of "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man", but I'd thought to highlight a particularly interesting one.

The startup company Harry Osborn creates is Worldwide Engineering Brigade or W.E.B. for short. Sound familiar yet? As you can see in my edit above, that's the same company housing the Spider-Man attraction at the Avengers Campus (Disney's California Adventure and Walt Disney Studios Park).

It's obviously not the same timeline, since automatically this isn't Tom Holland's Peter Parker, and the Avengers Campus kind of runs outside 616's canon to correspond the theme park element. But as a Disney Parks fan, I would love to see more tie-ins with WEB in season 2 of "YFNSM"!

Bonus: Harry sent emails to former Oscorp colleagues to invite them to join W.E.B. One who'd accepted is a Wakandan girl named Asha. Well, in the WEB Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure ride, the "slinger" vehicles have been crafted with vibranium. If the series honors any of the attraction's blueprints, we could see Asha engineering this project soon.

The Dumbo-like aerial spinning ride, Flying Carpets Over Agrabah, is located in the Toon Studio area of Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris. Hop on a magic carpet, soar around a genie lamp, go up-and-down, and then disembark. This ride opened in 2002 as a clone of The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, which debuted in 2001 in Adventureland at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Not to be outdone, Tokyo DisneySea introduced their own version in 2011, named Jasmine’s Flying Carpets, in the Arabian Coast area. In 2024, updated trash cans for this attraction were introduced. These new receptacles feature a light purple color with the standard uncolored inlet flap found on most Disneyland Paris Resort cans. They are adorned with a gold lamp icon, representing Aladdin's lamp, encircled by a blue border with yellow flourishes at the top and bottom. "This ride made me absolutely terrified of elevators for a bit. xD Anyway, the bellhop cast members are hilarious. The hotel that is covered in cobwebs and was clearly abandoned in a rush after a terrible event is so cool. The Rod Sterling Twilight Zone intro is iconic. The basement is an interesting setting for the final part of the queue. The generators, lights, and floor indicator malfunctioning helps build your anticipation. The friggin elevator moving into the hallway and into a new shaft when the electrical ghosts make their appearance and you enter the Twilight Zone is so impressive. The dropping and rising of the elevator is such fun and I love the randomized events they added. I have to say, though, that ventriloquist dummy in the unloading room still makes me uncomfortable."

New Tournament - Extinct Disney Parks Attractions

Following the success of the Disney Parks Characters and Disney Parks Snacks competitions, I’ve decided to host another - to find our Tumblr’s favourite extinct Disney Parks attraction! Nominate your favourite extinct attraction or experience below:

Rules:

Nominated attractions or experiences must be from Disney Parks. That means no DisneyQuest, River Country, or Discovery Island

However, nominated attractions or experiences can be from anywhere in the world - Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, or Shanghai Disneyland

Yes, fireworks count as an extinct attraction or experience, as do front of castle stage shows and character meet and greets

As do attractions and lands that, for all intents and purposes are still standing, but are now something else, i.e. Journey Into Imagination in EPCOT that is now Journey Into Imagination with Figment, or Avengers Campus in California Adventure that used to be A Bug’s Land

You can nominate as many extinct attractions as you want, but please, only one per form. Also please refrain from nominating the same attraction more than once, that is frowned upon

Due to the controversial nature of Splash Mountain, I will not be including it in this competition

Star Tours Gets a New Destination During Season of the Force

Since Star Tours launched in Tomorrowland at the Disneyland Resort in 1987, it was the premiere attraction for Star Wars fans. Nearly four decades later, it remains a fan-favorite attraction, adding newer destinations as more upgrades are added to improve the guest experience. In 2021, Walt Disney Studios in Paris announced that the majority of Toon Studio land would be rebranded as Worlds of Pixar. This new area encompasses the existing Finding Nemo, Cars, Ratatouille, attractions, as well as Toy Story Playland as a subland, creating "one area for all Disney-Pixar storytelling." This rebranding aligns with the park's transformation into Disney Adventure World by 2025. As part of this transformation, the Worlds of Pixar now features its own themed trash cans adorned with the iconic Pixar ball. This yellow ball with a blue stripe and red star first appeared in the Luxo, Jr. short in 1986. The ball icon is displayed on the front of the standard trash can, which is colored light blue, reminiscent of the color scheme used in Andy's Room from Toy Story in 1995. The recycling variant of the trash can does not feature the Pixar ball but instead displays a standard bottle/can recycling logo. As is typical with most cans found at the Disneyland Paris Resort, the inlet flap areas retain their base steel look, without additional coloring. After Horizons closed in 1999, the original Mesa Verde Hovercraft and Sea Castle Submarine were moved to the Studio Tram Tour over at Disneyland Paris! Sadly, the attraction was replaced by Cars Road Trip in 2022- but it is likely that the props now live in the archives!
