Been thinking about how I would rewrite Wish and here’s my thoughts so far:
King Magnifico is not a villain, period. Instead I decided to make him more akin to Merlin from The Sword In The Stone. He’s just a quirky old man with protective grandpa vibes.
Asha is already Magnifico’s apprentice at the start of the film and he fills in the role of a father figure in her life. They still disagree about the wish-granting ethics, but it’s way more amiable. Also Asha’s basically like “I’m not a little girl anymore” and Magnifico’s like “you’ll understand when you’re older”, etc. I can kinda see them having a similar vibe to how Twisted portrays Jasmine and Jafar tbh.
I decided to make the queen the main villain instead and very similar to the queen from Snow White. She manages to keep this facade of being a kind and generous ruler, but as Asha grows older, the queen finds it harder and harder to contain her jealously. She’s also subtly manipulative towards Magnifico as well.
I loved the concept of Star being a shapeshifter from the original draft of the project, so I decided to keep that element intact and make him Asha’s love interest. He’s somewhat like a gender switched Ariel, curious and excited to explore the human world and wanting to be a part of it.
I decided to change the context of the dark magic book corrupting Magnifico. As the queen becomes more and more unhinged, she starts trying to coerce her husband into doing her dirty work, but he staunchly refuses, so she uses the book to change him from a benevolent wizard to an archetypal evil sorcerer. She also does this to spite Asha because she knows how close their bond is.
In the end, it’s the queen who ends up trapped forever in the mirror and Magnifico is saved from her dark influence.
Asha’s character arc and Magnifico’s character arc are very similar as they both learn to admit when they’re wrong. Asha accepts that she still has a lot to learn and Magnifico learns to trust his apprentice with more responsibilities as she grows up.
Star’s one wish was to be human. He knows that that means giving up his immortality, but he’s ok with that because he would rather spend a finite life with Asha than be alone and live forever. His wish is granted and we get a closing narration from Magnifico (who also does an opening narration at the start) saying “…and we all lived happily ever after.” before closing the book that opened the movie.
I’m pretty sure there’s going to be other bits and parts but these are the ideas I have so far. Lmk what you all think! 👍

Young Magnifico grew up in a small village. Him and his family didn't have much, but his parents always told him about the power of dreams. His mother told him of wishing upon a star, his father kindly reminding him that no wish comes true without hard work.
Local magicians would help with what little power they had - if the crops were suffering, they'd band together and help the water flow - if a donkey ran away, they'd ask the wind to guide them to it. Magnifico was enthralled and studied with them, learning what little he could, trying to do good, too.
But when rogue magicians came to his family's land, he saw the darkness of magic. Their magic ran unruled, burning and eating and taking over whatever they so desired.
Magnifico lost his family that day. He was whisked away by the magicians of the village, seperated from them when they defended the magicless villagers from the rogues.
With scars of magic seared into his sould, Magnifico sought safety - but fear had made its way into his heart. As he grew, so did the anger. He found a woman, kind and understanding, who'd been hurt by magic as he. He had learned its craft, and with her, he learned not to fear his own powers, but nurture them.
Together, they created a sanctuary - a safe country where magic was heavily restricted. Magic is fueled by desire, and what is a desire other than an impossible wish?
Using his powers, Magnifico took the wishes of his people, keeping them safe, not for their sake, but his own. The collected safety, he and his wife would say.
When people wanted the wishes set free, fear reawoke in Magnifico. Fear is a powerful force, and with his wife by his side, he summoned forces not to be played with. King Magnifico would do anything to keep his own wish, his desire and desperation for safety, a continuous reality - no matter the cost...
There. That's a better motivation.

Ok so I opened Disney+ the other day and saw this.....
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In all honesty I have no high hopes for this. But I'll still give it a chance even though every thing in this franchise (excluding: Wicked World, D1, and D2) is just....bad in my opinion. In my honest opinion this franchise is just ouat on a lower budget but that's for another time. I just wanna know if anyone would be interested in helping me rewrite this or the franchise as a whole
Here is a link to the discord for rewrites if anyone is interested

My Potential Projects 1: “Chicken Little Hard-Headed”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alternative Title: Chicken Licken Hard-Headed (UK)
Latin Spanish Title: La nueva Chicken Little (The New Chicken Little)
Direction and Writing: Mark Dindal, Rodrick
Writing based on the original script/draft for Chicken Little (2005) by Mark Dindal and Randy Fullmer
Production done at Walt Disney Television Animation, with traditional animation provided by Mercury Filmworks, Toon City and Snipple Animation Studios

Character Design: Omar Lozano
Character design adapted from Omar Lozano's illustrations for the graphic novel Far Out Fables: Chicken Little Saves The Moon Base, by Benjamin Harper (published by Stone Arch Books)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In a world of talking animals, 12-year-old (and 6 acorns tall) Chicken Little's overactive imagination and proneness to panic attacks have made her an outcast at home and in Mayberry Town, where she lives. Her father, Randall Rooster, just wants to have a regular kid like everyone else, which most of the time leads to her questioning about being a "freak" due to how often she seemingly witnesses vampires, ghosts, aliens and monsters lurking around. Because of this, Hailey Hen, Chicken Little's mother, has to constantly keep her husband in line so as to avoid Little from wrongly believing that he doesn't love her after all.
At Mayberry Town Middle School, things are even harder for Little, as a group of bullies led by Foxy Loxy and also formed by troublemaker Goosey Loosey, nerdy Ducky Lucky and airheaded Henny Penny (who often makes the other three wonder why did they included her in the group to begin with) doesn't stop reminding her of how much of an outcast she is. Principal Owl Powell isn't of help either, as he also sees her as crazy. But then things take a turn for the worst.
Tumblr media
One day, Chicken Little gets hit on the head by an acorn and thinks it's a piece of the sky, so she runs from one end of Mayberry Town to the other yelling with all her might "The sky is falling! The sky is falling!". All of the townspeople freak out at this warning. Soon enough Little has unintentionally incited civil unrest across the town, so much so that it almost gets destroyed. After discovering it was just an acorn what started it all, everyone is angry at Chicken Little for raising a false alarm. Thus, almost all of them (including Mayor Turkey Lurkey himself) force her to shape up in order to avoid another incident.
Tumblr media
Pressured by this, Little convinces her parents to sign her up at Camp Yes-U-Can, a summer camp set outside of Mayberry Town and meant to improve self-esteem on animal young ones. In fact, even its motto is “Of course you can! At Camp Yes-U-Can!”. To Little’s dismay, Foxy and company end up going as well, and the bullying towards her isn't stopped. Despite this, the little chicken is comforted at camp after meeting other outcast animals from across the land that also have challenges of their own.
Cygrus "Ugly Duckling" Mallard is a down-to-earth bird from the town of Pondey Ponds. He was adopted from the local orphanage by Mrs. Mallard, who already had ducklings of her own. Nowadays, Cygrus is constantly bullied by them and by his school peers. He feels different from the rest and can’t wait for the day on which, according to what his mother uses to say when comforting him, he will become a beautiful swan.
Tumblr media
Runt of the Litter is the smallest of twelve pig siblings and now weights 700 pounds. Still, he sees himself as a “wee, helpless little pig” because of his constant comparisons with his other brothers and sisters, who (believe it or not) are way more colossal than him. However, despite his low self-esteem, he is very open to meeting new friends.
Tumblr media
Lane “Black Sheep” Flock is a rebellious yet friendly ewe who isn’t seen well by her upper class parents and relatives. She’s one of those animal young ones who prefer staying at home to chat online rather than going to an important family reunion. Because of the pressure her family puts her into, she wishes to know if she should just be herself or get used to their fancy lifestyle.
Fish Out of Water is very silly and playful, but not completely accustumed to the lifestyles from dry land yet. The whole fish family, being the parents very prestigious scientists, has moved from their ocean hometown in order to study the behavior of terrestial animals. At land, Fish has problems socializing with other animal young ones. While, for example, sea animals play ball by letting it float in order for another player to catch it, at land one’s supposed to toss the ball directly. Fish hasn’t still get accustumed to this and other aspects from terrestial culture, and is viewed as a weirdo by the land kids.
Chicken Little gets really well with those animals, who understand her worries as a whole. However, she soon realizes the bullying from Foxy Loxy will be the least of her problems there, as the three sheep who are camp counselors may not be what they seem. She discovers they, led by Counselor Matt Hornsby, are cooking up a very evil plan for the end of the summer. Thus, she will have to use a lot of courage in order to foil them. But she isn’t alone. Will Little and her new friends obtain the fruits of their personal growth in time to save the day?
Tumblr media
NOTE 1: Fish Out of Water and Goosey Loosey will not talk, but rather have a voice actor doing their respective animal noises á lá Frank Welker.
Chicken Little - Holly Hunter
Randall Rooster - Danny McBride
Hailey Hen - Maya Rudolph
Cygrus Mallard - Sean Hayes
Mayor Turkey Lurkey - Tom Kenny
Counselor Matt - Penn Jilette (when in evil mode)
2nd Counselor - Erica Lindbeck (when in evil mode)
3rd Counselor - Tom Kenny (when in... you get the idea)
Tumblr media
NOTE 2: I've priorized the Latin Spanish/Mexican cast here because I'm an actual Latin American myself and also a big fan of Latin Spanish dubbing. All voice actors listed below are accompanied by one of their characters in parenthesis. I want them to use the voices of those characters when taking their respective roles in Chicken Little Hard-Headed.
Chicken Little - Fernanda Gastélum (June in the 2017 Ducktales reboot)
Randall Rooster - Ricardo Tejedo (Rick Mitchell in The Mitchells vs. the Machines)
Hailey Hen - Berenice Vega (Linda Mitchell in Mitchells)
Foxy Loxy - Jessica Ángeles (Catra in She-Ra and the Princesses of Power)
Ducky Lucky - José Antonio Macías (Bert in Sesame Street)
Henny Penny - Erika Langarica (Sonata Dusk in My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Sunset’s Backstage Pass)
Mayor Turkey Lurkey - Gerardo Reyero (Hugh Pickles in Rugrats)
Cygrus Mallard - Yamil Atala (Dexter in Dexter’s Laboratory)
Runt of the Litter - Miguel Ángel Ruiz (Joey Felt in Atomic Puppet)
Lane Flock - Rossy Aguirre (Buttercup in The Powerpuff Girls)
Counselor Matt - Arturo Mercado (Bob the Builder) when in good mode; José Roberto Pisano (Death in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish) when in evil mode
2nd Counselor - Rubén Cerda (Horton in Horton Hears a Who) when in good mode; Carla Medina (Bellwether in Zootopia) when in evil mode
3rd Counselor - Adriana Núñez (Miss Rabbit in Peppa Pig) when in good mode; Rolando de Castro (Dr. Wolfowitz in 3 Pigs and a Baby) when in evil mode

Disney's Wish poster redesign
The composition was referenced from Stardust (2007) poster because that movie is about the star character who falls from the sky and meet the main human character just like Wish's early concept.

I repeat: I do think Wish should’ve had a Blue-Fairy-like wishing Star come go on the adventure with her. Just so that she could “get to know” the Wishing Star, learn that it does care about what happens to her and wants what’s best for her, and then through that personal relationship, come to believe the actual message of most Disney movies, which is:
“Have faith and even more than what you wish for will come true.”
But sure, if you want to go ahead with your crappy “The power to make your wishes come true is in you,” yeah, make the Star a voiceless faceless blob. You don’t need it anyway, right?

rereading some of my favorite classic fan fics and again just so struck by the fact that mainstream fiction could never give me what you people give me every day for FREE. you're all the exact level of poetic and deranged that i'm endlessly searching for. no one is doing it like fic writers.

Couldnt resist drawing the starry-eyed... well Star from the original concepts!
I heard somewhere their name was Earendel, soooo Im going to roll with that and call them Earen for short :)
Backstory Idea
Earendel is a celestial being, born in the farthest parts of the galaxy. Even if they were surrounded by stars like them, they felt alone as they could not shine as bright as they did. However, they found solace by watching the humans live their lives.
They always had a fascination with humans, and grew evermore curious. This is where they learn about humans holding wishes in their hearts, and have the drive to make them come true without magic with their own faith and determination. They inspired them to take matters into their own hands. Then one day, even in the deepest, darkest parts of space, they heard an earnest wish sung to the stars awaiting for a reply.
A wish asking the heavens for something better than the reality created by the king and queen. More than willing to help, they raced down to earth to meet the girl who made this wish and help make it come true.
Motivation
They thought in the bigger picture, they were just a tiny speck in the sky with no significance. Their wish was to leave their mark and make a difference, so they too can shine bright. By the end of the movie, their new wish is to stay with their new friends and true love, Asha.

My Seven Friends redesigns c:
This is how they look in my AU/headcanons
Their clothes are inspired by what culture I think they're from based on their names.
Gabo - Spaniard (since Rosa is set somewhere in Spain, I gave him a nicer Spanish tunic. He works in the Castle Kitchens so he shouldn't be able to afford it, but Bazeema made it for him for his birthday)
Hal - North African. (Nothing against her pants, but I gave her a dress because she's look really pretty in one)
Safi - Arabian (I didn't really change his clothes to match his culture. He just wears the coziest clothes he can find as long as they don't trigger his allergies. Bazeema is his sister in my hc, and she made his clothes for him to help with his easily irritable skin)
Dahlia - Taiwanese (I didn't change her clothes much, I liked her design. I gave her a bandanna because she placed her hands on top of her head while thinking and doesn't want to get flour in her hair)
Bazeema - Arabian (Bazeema and Safi are siblings, and Bazeema likes to reflect her culture more in her clothing than Safi does. She's a seamstress and works at her mother's shop, and made Safi's clothes for him to help with his allergies and irritable skin)
Simon O'Donohue - Irish (Simon is a Hebrew name, but O'Donohue is derived from an Irish name, and because that's his last name I'm going with that one. Because this is his Knight outfit, its just the one from the movie without any Irish influences)
Dario - German (Dario is an Italian name, but his mother named him that after already arriving at Rosas and seeing others with the name, liking it)
