Wow. This priest/stripper story is the best I’ve ever read. And that’s something I never thought I’d say lol.

The forbidden aspect between these two, and the angst and drama will definitely keep you coming back for more.

Amaya’s definitely had a hard life, all thanks to her jealous mother that abandons them. She ends up having to pay her mother’s debt to Parker… and let’s just say that you’re gonna wish a thousand bad things to happen to Parker and her mother. Serious bad things.

And then there’s Father Cade who’s not quite the normal priest. Seriously, his darkness is off the charts, but he’s someone you’ll be pulling for no matter what.

I did not see how this was going to have a happy ending, but leave it to Emily McIntire to figure it out. Though I was nervous about how this could possibly end on a good note, I couldn’t be happier about how all the loose ends were tied up.

* Damn. We kick off the book with Father Cade murdering someone. I like this man already 😂

* Amaya’s mom Chantelle is a total bitch for ditching the way she did. And the mom’s bf Parker would sell her? But since she dipped, Amaya has to take her place? wtf! I hope Cade kills him.

* Deh. Pissing contest between Father Cade and Parker. I love it. Put his little bitch ass where he belongs.

* Fuck. Parker raped Amaya? Oh hell no. Cade really does need to kill him.

* Damn. Father Cade is super horny for Amaya, but he thinks her a demon and it’s his job to snuff out demons 😬

* I fucking loathe Parker.

* Oh fuck. Sister Genevieve is Amaya’s mother, isn’t she? Bitch is hiding out as a nun.

* Wow. Chantelle (Amaya’s mom) and Florence (Parker’s side piece) are fucking cunts. They rather hate Amaya for his fixation on her rather than hate the man who’s stringing them along 🤦🏻‍♀️ And then Chantelle fled in the middle of the night? What a bitch. I hope Amaya finds her and makes her pay for all the shit she’s been put through.

* Father Cade sticking up for Quinten (Amaya’s little brother) makes me so happy. Now Cade just needs to get over the obsession of wanting to kill Amaya 😂

* “Leave it to me to finally have sexual attraction to a man who’s so off limits, he’s a one way ticket to hell.”

* Damn. Cade killed the guy who tried assaulting Amaya in the alley. That’s my priest! Lol.

* Wow. Father Cade finger fucked Amaya and then told her she’s worse than a whore. Why does that hurt me so much?

* Aw fuck. She went to Parker for help. This is going to end so badly.

* Damnnn. Father Cade is not impressed that Amaya is marrying Parker. KILL HIM!!!

* So Cade has finally realized he doesn’t wanna kill Amaya. Good. Now he’s gotta make her the perfect little catholic wife. Pft. Good luck with that.

* Oohhh. Cade is piecing together why Amaya is suddenly dating Parker. And that she went to him first, only for him to turn her away.

* Damn. He killed another man to give Amaya an alibi. That’s my guy right there lol.

* “You consume me, Amaya. Break apart my faith with the fire of a thousand suns and dominate every nightmare until all I dream is you. You think you’re obsessed, petite pécheresse? You don’t know the meaning of the word.”

* Oh shit. He fucked her. He finally did it. Now murder Parker and Amaya’s mom who I know is that fucking nun in the mountains.

* I fucking hate Parker with a passion.

* Fuck yes! She beat the fuck out of that jealous slut Florence! Possibly killed her too 😂

* Oh. Oh no. He’s taking her to the mountain. She’s gonna see her mom 👀

* AND NOW HE’S LEFT HER ALONE WITH THE “SISTER”. Fuck, dude, IT’S HER MOM!

* Oh no. He fucking assaulted and killed Amaya’s best friend 😔 He fucking has the little brother Quinten!

* Holy fuck. Cade really did a number on Parker 😬

* lol. Bye-bye, mother dearest. Knew she wasn’t gonna last long. Dumb bitch.

Ok say what you will about Maleficent (2014) as a remake or whether it’s a good villain ‘origin story’ or not or how it’s a flawed retelling or whatever-

But, this movie is always going to have a special place in my heart as and AroAce person. Like, not only does the ‘main romance’ get maybe five minutes of screen time total and becomes a little red herring and mostly irrelevant, BUT the movie also has a huge focus on the platonic love and relationship between Maleficent and Aurora, AND on top of that, it’s that platonic love that saves Aurora from the sleeping curse at the end, not the romantic relationship.

Right now that might not seem very revolutionary, but back in 2014, fantasy and fairytale movies, and ones coming from Disney no less- having a story like this was a huge deal, especially to me as an Aromatic and Asexual person.

I remember when the movie first came out I was 11 or 12 (hadn’t discovered the queer community or the terms aro or ace yet) and starting to realize my peers were having crushes and such and felt confused and alone that I didn’t- and then this movie came out and so many of the people around me were baffled by the idea of a non-romantic love taking center stage and saving the day in a fairytale movie from Disney. I swear I watched this movie so many times during that age because it helped me feel that maybe, just maybe I wasn’t broken for not being interested in romance.

(context: I’m rewatching the movie and when I dove into the tag for this movie on tumblr, I was severely disappointed that no one was talking about this specifically and mostly had negative things to say about the movie overall)

Holy shit. This is definitely my favorite so far! Julian… I don’t know what to say. He’s everything I want in a live action Jafar- brown skin, tattoos, morally gray personality. I love that he’s the total villain and has set plans, only for those plans to unravel right before his very eyes.

And Yasmin! I loved her. I was so scared I was gonna hate her because she was so infatuated with Aidan… but her eyes were really opened in this.

I loved the family and relationship angst, and watching Julian come to certain realizations. You think Yasmin is a spoiled princess, but she is not. And I love her even more for it. Especially when Julian treats her the way he does in order to make her less helpless.

Normally I’m a huge fan of the fast-paced romance, but this slow burn was everything!

* So I’m just gonna state the obvious. Yasmin is “Jasmine” and Julian is “Jafar”… right?

* Damn. Only the prologue and Julian is already taking out his competition.

* Ahhh. And Aidan is “Aladdin”. Got it.

* Lol. Julian thought Yasmin would freak when she spotted him watching Aidan eating her out, but it seems it turned her on instead. It’s Julian that’s fucked 😂

* Yikes. Daddy wants her to get married and be “taken care of”. She loved Aidan though and knows her dad won’t approve. But now Julian is thinking of marrying her and then killing her after the dad dies. This is so messy lol.

* I love Riya. Yasmin needs to listen to her bestie.

* Oohhhh. Interesting. Julian is offering a deal to Yasmin and Aidan, and Aidan will do anything..? Julian thinks he’s power hungry and doesn’t like Yasmin and much as she likes him.. 🤔 Could Aidan be using her..?

* Holy shit. He killed another of Yasmin’s suitors 😂 Dude really wants that diamond company.

* Oh fuck ahaha. Julian played Yasmin and Ali like a fucking fiddle. HE KNEW that Ali would accept his daughter’s choice no matter what, but he still worked his way in AND got Aidan out of the picture. For now.

* “You can make me wear your ring,” I hiss, “and parade me around with your last name, but I will never bow for you.” // He smirks. “We’ll see.” — Damn.

* Damn. That officer disrespected Yasmin and Julian made him pay for it with his life. I love a protective man, even if Yasmin doesn’t know he’s that protective.

* Oh my god… I hope Yasmin stands up for Julian if his mother tries any shit.

* Wow. His mom is a cunt.

* I can’t believe I’m 250 pages in and STILL NO FUCKING! This really is a slow burn.

* Damn. Julian eats pussy like a champ 😂 I can’t believe he didn’t fuck her tho. Why does he wanna hear that she’s his when he still plans to kill her 🤔 He’s doubting his plan now, huh.

* Ian and Jeannie are fucking traitors. I think. And with Yasmin’s fake will and plans to kill Ali if he doesn’t die soon… someone’s gonna tell Yasmin and it’s gonna break her heart because she’s starting to like Julian 🤦🏻‍♀️ So messy.

* Why the fuck is Jeannie so sketchy rn.

* “I want your blood and your anger and your violence and your lust. I want your smiles and your tears and your insolent fucking mouth. I want to reach into your chest and hold your heart in my hands, making sure it only beats for me. But I don’t want your firsts, Yasmin. I want your forever.”

* She chose Julian! Fucking finally.

* Ohhh. So that’s why Jeannie was acting sketchy. But Julian’s plans have changed… now all Yasmin needs to do is have an actual conversation with him before jumping to conclusions.

* FUCK YOU, IAN. I HOPE JULIAN KILLS YOU!

* Why would Aidan take the lamp? Greedy fucker.

* Holy fuck. Aidan was playing Yasmin for a fool the entire time. What a greedy little bitch.

* Oh my god. They love each other and I’m so happy lol.

In my reimagined/rewrite Wish universe, Asha is a bit athletic because:

1.) She just easily grabbed that heavy cabinet (idk if that’s a cabinet) on a grown ass man in one go without struggling.

2.) Our girl here treaded on water for miles ON A FREAKING DRESS. LIKE GURL WHAT. I THINK THATS A TALENT—

and 3.) Did she just usain bolt her way down from the castle?—

no fr, it’s what i’ve noticed in the movie. Remember, she was on top of the castle so high up then 20 seconds later she’s already down on the ground. Maybe Star just used their magic on her to help her get down from the castle? however i dont see Star doing that besides from using the books or anything else to use to descend Asha down to the ground or maybe just bad writing—

but it’s funny to think that Asha just sprinted her way down to the ground using the hundreds of stairs inside the castle lol.
