It’s crazy how less annoyed I am of this song whenever StarBoy is involved with it. I think it shows that the movie, and maybe its soundtrack, could have worked if it had more time to grind out the flaws

You know what’s crazy is that whenever someone talks about the Human! Star concept people start DEFENDING THIS MOVIE LIKE CRAZY! I have seen people claim online that Wish is always on at their house and that it didn’t need a love story. But to that I ask: WHERE WERE YOU WHEN THIS MOVIR FLOPPED IN THEATERS AND WAS GETTING ROASTED ONLINE!

Two years. It has been two years since Wish came out.

Fun fact. The local toy stores round me do not like to cycle out stock. So often it stays there until it sells. No matter what.

When wish released they obviously bought up a lot of stock. It’s a feature length original Disney film. Those usually sell like hot cakes.

But it didn’t. Now I’m sure statistically they’ve probably sold something. But I frequent that shop near weekly even to just look around.

And I’ve never noticed the Wish stock vary or change. Just slowly and quietly being reduced more and more.

Until recently I feel the employees at the store seemed to reach a breaking point. Because all the wish stuff that used to be dotted around the store has been crammed onto a single shelf and all mass reduced to 70% percent off.

Like this is unheard of for a big budget Disney film.

Wish flopped so hard that even the kids and general audiences want nothing to do with it. To such a degree even the merch being reduced to less than half its original price won’t make it budge.

Disneys 100th year anniversary film. Flopped this badly. They can’t undo that. That’s a one shot, one attempt, no take backsies kind of milestone and they completely blew it.

At long last. Watch this, let it sink in, feel the heart and emotion. And if this is the story you really wanted to hear, the kind of stories you STILL want to hear, don't stay silent. Spread the word and encourage others. Creatives at Disney and other places have been trapped under the restrictions of corporate greed long enough. It's past time they and us were given back the ability to tell and enjoy truly heartfelt stories celebrating all forms of love, from that of friends and family to that of lovers and soulmates, with truly strong and intelligent male and female characters who can both fight and love, who don't have to be powerhouses to be admirable. If you've had enough, speak out... give support in whatever way you can. The executives have gotten their way long enough, and it's past time they learned that isn't going to be enough.

Does Cosmic!Star have legs?

I'M SORRY THIS TOOK FOREVER, FORGIVE ME 😭

The answer is yes, he does! It just takes more energy to use them!

Like I referenced in a previous post, this form is inspired by Dark!Genie's form. While Genie didn't show his legs in that form, I moved his regular bottom half over to Cosmic!Star. When he first transformed, he only used his upper half since just wanted to hit the king. When we get to the Disney Kaiju Battle, Star will be filled with so much rage and energy that he can form legs to balance on.

When going up against Magnifico, he does fight in a gorilla fighting style, not only referencing Kerchak's fights (Tarzan), but he also puts more energy into his upper body to punch. Star only knows how animals would fight, so this is the closest to human fighting he can get.

Star's legs can bend and move, but its in more of a squash and stretch style, which is why he doesn't have toes. Its like putty constantly changing shape!

The little upside-down kiss with Star making magic around them? I LOVE IT!

Star as a human instead of a little star creature would've been AMAZING! Fuck, if they wanted to keep it as a celebration, he could've been like Peter Pan! They seem similar enough! Even if they wanted to make him a cute little star creature, JUST HAVE HIM SHAPESHIFT!!! Whenever he's in public, he becomes that cute little star that can easily hide!

AND DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON ASHA'S CONCEPT DESIGNS!

All of these???? FUCKING ADORABLE!!!! But they watered down her design so much in the movie 😭

Look, I'm about to read a rewrite of this on ao3. I'm just coping with how good the movie could've been.

Anyways, I headcanon Starboy as mute because I like the idea of a silent flirty and mischievous love interest

A Wish Worth Making

(In this scene, Sakina and Sabino are meeting the Starboy for the first time after Asha and Star were able to get Sabino’s wish freed from the wish vault in Magnifico’s castle)

“Amazing” Sabino said in wonder looking at the young glowing boy floating right in front of him, Star returned the joy Sabino shared in this. “A real life star come all the way here to help us”. Sabino was in amazement for both the presence of Star as well as the memories of his late son sharing his dreams of one day exploring the stars themselves.

Star flew over to Sakina who was still marveling at their presence. Star saw how happy Sakina looked and transformed into a copy of Valentino and mimicked him briefly which got a giggle out of her. “All those years your father spent talking about the power and magic one star could hold, and now, one is flying here right in our home” Sakina said with a mix of wonder, joy and surprise.

Asha smiled as her mother was enjoying Star’s company but realized that it was time to give her saba his wish back.

“Saba, I know you said that you didn’t want to know a wish that could never be. But know you can make it be”. Asha then pulls out Sabino’s wish sphere from her bag and shows it to Sabino.

In the sphere is Sabino, playing his mandolin for a large audience, bringing joy and inspiration to them all. Sabino was finally putting together what Asha was arguing with him about earlier. That his wish was so simple that Magnifico had no right to take it and hold it away for so long.

“It’s so simple, so pure. I should have never given Magnifico my wish.” Sabino said with sorrowful regret.

Sakina, Star and Valentino crowded behind Asha, looking on as Sabino was taking in a wish he gave away many years ago, not knowing he would regret it every day.

Asha now sees that Sabino is nearly sobbing from looking at something that his whole life was based around now in the palm of his hands.

“Saba, this wish belongs to you” she says, she takes a look back at Star and the two help return the wish back to Sabino.

The color now returning to his face, Sabino had overwhelming feelings of hope, creativeness and joy.

“My lute, where is my luteI must play it” Sabino said with a childlike giddynes.

Star, with almost the same amount of giddyness, quickly flew to the other side of the room to retrie the lute and handed it to him.

“Thank you, my sweet Star” he said to the star boy.

Returning to Asha’s side he shared an excited smile with her as Sabino began to play a song.

As he sang his song, Asha and her mother moved in closer. It had been so long since Sabino even looked at his lute and now thanks to her and Star, he now has a chance to go out and make his wish come true.

Star, meanwhile, is just floating above the floor with his legs criss crossed, his right knuckle propping up his head, taking in copious amount of joy filling the room right now.

In the middle of the song, Asha and Star again share a look, acknowledging that this would not be possible without the other. And for a brief moment, simply being happy the other was there for this moment.

As Sabino finished his song, Asha and her mother moved to each side of him to hug him. As Asha moved out of the hug, she felt a fire burning inside of her knowing that her mother’s wish was still trapped inside the castle being held hostage by the royals. But at the same time, she was processing the risk it would mean for her, her family and now Star.

Needing some air she took advantage of Sakina complimenting Sabino’s playing and walked out the door, her hands in each of her elbows.

Star, seeing Asha leave so sullenly after all the wonder and joy that was presnet, flies after her

Asha had paused at an opening in the hamlet that looked up at the castle, she now stares at the building that stands between her and the people of Rosas getting their wishes back.

Star apparates next to her and gently puts on hand on her shoulder in an attempt to comfort her.

Asha looks down, knowing that these are about to be some tough words Star may have to hear.

“All those wishes, just locked up there, and or who knows how long?”

Star removes his hand from her shoulder to let her speak.

“I know that we HAVE to go back and get those wishes, but I’m just one person, I don’t know if I’m capable of doing something like that. heh , I can barely make it on time for my tours and now I’m supposed to save Rosas from a king that has been lying to all of us for so long…”

Star quickly moved in front of her and grabbed her hands, in a gesture meant to calm her down and re assure her that she is capable ot doing this. The Star gave her a reassuring smile as well.

Asha looked right at Star in his eyes. They glowed almost a solid golden yellow and had a calming presence about them. Something about Star had brought out a new side of her that she never knew about before, one willing to through caution to the wind and risk life and limb for those she truly cares about. And though they had been together for only a short time, Star was now one of those people.

sighs with relief “Star, thank you, for everything. For helping my Saba get his wish back, for bringing joy to the people of Rosas, and for helping me see that I can do almost anything, especially when you are at my side”.

Asha now returned Star’s smile to them and two just looked at each other, just happy that the other is there. If it was possible they could spend all night like this.

But out of now where a loud noise was heard off in the distance. It sounded near the house…

Authors notes: for me, the moment that would solidify Star and Asha’s feeling a would have to be when Star meets Asha’s family. Because for Asha, her family is THE most important thing in her life and for Star to be apart of this special moment for her and her family, I felt would be a good point to really solidify them as a couple

Hey! I'm putting together some concept art for my Wish rewrite and I need one more to complete the post. I already have a Star(boy) model sheet, Asha outfit designs, the design of the old king's journal, and a sketch of the scene where Asha sees the wish room for the first time. Anything in particular you think I should include? Or something you'd like to see?

I’d really like to see a scene where Asha is drawing Star like Jane did to Tarzan during Strangers Like Me.

Star should be doing something fun or something that Asha would find “cute”.

Some ideas I had was Star is playing with kids or Star is just resting in a tree or Star amongst the wish spheres.

If you need any ideas let me know.

I love how most people have just accepted Asha and human Star were going to be a couple. They are the definition of shipped on vibes and vibes alone
