Thoughts on my first Tarzan rewatch since I was a kid:
• Golly gee, I did not remember that both Kerchak and Kala’s very young son AND Tarzan’s parents get mauled by a leopard, it happens within the first ten minutes, and you actually SEE his parents’ bodies. Modern Disney would NEVER
• Also remember when Disney actually animated really good fight scenes, they had nail-biting tangible stakes, and they actually showed blood??? Remember when they weren’t cowards????
• REMEMBER WHEN TARZAN KILLED THE LEOPARD TRYING TO PROVE HIMSELF TO HIS ADOPTIVE FATHER HAVING NO IDEA THAT HE WAS AVENGING HIS BIOLOGICAL FATHER (AND MOTHER). REMEMBER THAT
• It’s been said before, but the effort put into the physicality of Tarzan is just top-tier—especially later into the film where he starts to mix his gorilla and learned human mannerisms. There is so much detail here and it’s fascinating
• Also, the times where they chose to make the gorilla conversations understandable to the audience or make them sound like gorillas (aka switch to Jane’s pov) is SO fascinating and does wonders for building up the “two worlds” dichotomy.
• Jane’s crush on Tarzan is SO obvious and honestly comes on so suddenly, she is delulu for days, but honestly I cannae blame her, if *I* was saved by a strong handsome wild man who couldn’t understand me but stared deeply into my eyes as if he could see my soul through them as he pressed the palms of our hands together, I’d probably fold too
• My favorite character was Tantor the elephant. WHAT a character arc, I was so proud of him
• Hey uhhhhhhhh remember how the villain of this movie died by inadvertently hanging himself and the movie indicated this by showing his dangling silhouette in a flash of lightning??? HELLO???
• Y’all like to give Ariel a hard time for giving up her voice for a man when Jane Porter permanently and irrevocably left civilized society to run away to the wilds of Africa to live with gorillas for a man she met a week or two ago who she’s still getting over language barrier issues with. I’m not saying she shouldn’t have done so, I completely support her decision, but I feel like if this movie weren’t so slept on some of y’all would have a lot more to say about it.
• In general Jane is a bit more unhinged than we give her credit for, and more power to her. She’s rapidly climbing the ranks of my favorite Disney princesses.
• And then her father joins her??? “People go missing all the time”???? LOL
• Finally, it’s been said before, but: Phil Collins, you legend. You did not have to go that hard on this film, but you did and we appreciate it so much

I was going to pin this post until I stopped feeling fire in my throat on recognition. I figured I'd be ready to move on then— That has not happened I want this so bad I can't bear that I can't have it
they wouldn't let me write the live action Disney adaptions because I would have had the best Ping you have ever seen. He and Shang would have had chemistry that took your breath away. They would be Yearning. the audience would be Yearning. it would be electric and terrifying and by marika would Mulan/Ping be hot. Shang is obsessed, the audience is obsessed. there would be hardly be a person in the attendance that doesn't Get where Shang is coming from. who wouldn't rend their clothes and scream to the heavens over Mulan/Ping. she takes no prisoners.
and yes, Shang kisses him in the snow as he cradles Ping's injured, dying body.
and yes, from the opening scene to the rolling credits he's going slowly mad.
and the first time you see Mulan she's dressed in the most feminine, floaty, light-colored dressy robes, with bone white makeup and painted lips and you fall in love with her. and there's something underneath, too. and it's so intriguing.
and then she shows up as Ping, and it takes a while to get used to, and it's kind of funny and awkward. but then it looks better and better to you. and soon you find you can hardly bear it when the camera turns away from him for even a second. and Ping isn't awkward to be around at all, he's stunning and brave and resilient and determined to be kind and you're desperately in love with him and you decide he looks incredible in the warriors' robes, actually. and his smile makes you want to kiss him. it makes Shang want to scream. and to kiss him.
and then comes the last leg. and she's got the gender-neutral robes, the "neutral" stage makeup. the loose updo. and you've never been as attracted to anyone in your life as Shang is to her. and you get it. you really, really get it. and wow the way the cuff of her sleeves and the silhouette of her robes make your heart clench. and the way her posture, her gait, make a new kind of sense. you can feel this is It. this is The Costume. you're obsessed and Shang is obsessed.
And then in the end, she's wearing pretty soft-colored robes and it makes you think for a moment that she looks like she did at the beginning. but then actually something makes her strength visible too. is it the cut of the costume? her posture? the framing of the shots? Yes it is. and you know, when Shang shows up, You know he can see it too. and he doesn't want to stop looking any more than you do. and he isn't going to even when you do.
every kid that ever watched my Mulan would recall it as Formative, like y'alls Danny Phantom but on the sickest steroids ever invented. She'd be irresistible. and so very gender.
#give it to me cowards#just original tags now bc I have not developed away from this at all. my mind is still here.#i was a huge shang fan as a kid#you can't tell from this post bc it's all about Mulan#but I would do my boy Shang SO GOOD#you'd adore him at the end. and be cheering him on and begging him to stop and gasping from frustration just watching him#but most importantly you'd believe in the goodness of his character. a man; young and under immense pressure; doing his best#fighting his hardest#anyway I market the movie for theaters with her in the girly clothes and then all merch and promotional material afterward features the#shan yu final showdown outfit#the one that makes you go mad#that makes you forgive all of shangs transgressions on the spot#you take one look and say#yeah ok. my boy was right alright. look there were extenuating circumstances. no one could think in this environment#but if course that's actually where they work together THE BEST#and it's soooo good#and it convinces you that they are perfect for each other#sorry about all this guys#I'm still mad this isn't what happened with the live action frankly#i will probably never come to terms with it#<-yip#or........ miniseries?? 8 hours of film all shot and edited and released as a single work perhaps?#oooo what if I did a 3.5 hour film with AN INTERMISSION what would the girlies think of that 😂#boo me out of theaters#except audiences would realize I'm right#btw I genuinely never intended to leave rhis on my dash more than two days#my stomach still clentches and my throat burns immediately on seeing the first line every time. I just cannot get over this#this could be It. we coukd have this. it could be ours#mulan#disney

Now, let's talk about Drakepad. Can we talk about Drakepad, please? I've been dying to talk about Drakepad all year, OK! Sometimes I can't help but wonder if Drake and Launchpad were suppost to become a couple in the Ducktales reboot.
Like, you got that leaked concept art from the Darkwing spinoff (I guess it's okey to post this? It's long been dead if Disney even considered picking it up at all.) where Launchpad clearly has his hand on Drake's shoulder, but it looks like Drake's got his hand on LP's back. And I say Launchpad and not Gosalyn because if it was on/ around Gos we'd likely see his hand on her head or her shoulder which it very clearly is not.
Tumblr media
This pitch likely predates TDKR and if I were to guess when it was pitched it'd of likely been sometime in 2018? Possibly even earlier judging by Drake's design as it's still pretty early. (Plus LP's bio in the pitch bible having big (and literal) "let's pick out curtains" energy.)
And then you got this excerpt from the bonus book of the deluxe edition of the Ducktales artbook where it talks about those romantic secret side adventures Launchpad has that we never got to see, and then mentions him meeting Drake as one of these aforementioned side adventures.
Tumblr media
And then you got this Gay-ass moment from TDKR.
And the scene of them holding hands with Drake making goo-goo eyes that was intended by the storyboarder to be romantic.
Tumblr media
And LP returning the favor in the finale.
Tumblr media
The symbolism of the "go to them" scene, as well as how he puts his hand over his heart because of Drake.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Side note: He did this in the original show too.
Tumblr media
Not to mention Launchpad's canonically Bi (though they never got to explore this in the show itself).
But even if they were, there's like no way Disney would of allowed it considering how pissed they were about Penumbra being a Lesbian (forcing them to censor it in a way that makes it seem like she's just racist (Speciesist? Planetist?)). And considering how Disney's been trying to reboot Darkwing Duck there problobly would of been the thought "Well if we make them Queer in this then we'd have no choice but to make them Queer in every adaption after that" and Disney has been notoriously anti-Queer when it comes to media (That we even got The Owl House feels like a miracle in and of itself.) and now with actual fucking anti-Queer terrorism on the rise in America especially, and Project 2025 on the horizon, the higher ups are cowards at best, that is if they don't agree with the terrorists themselves (okey I'm getting on a bit of a tangent here, sorry!)
IDK did I miss something? It's like almost 4AM and I can't sleep (if that wasn't obvious).
Anyways when I said that this is what it feels like to ship Drakepad I was not exaggerating or joking.

𝜗𝜚 Floyra Intro Post !
Tumblr media
❝Because theres no one on the land or in the sea more in sync than those two.❞
|| playlist. || moodboard. || pinterest quotes. || pinterest board. || (<- in the “Dynamic w Floyd” section!)
Floyra is the ship of my main oc, Kyra and Floyd! Kyra is my Yuusona twisted from the Disney Princess Stereotype.
This intro post is just to graph out the timeline and details of their relationship. Funfacts at the end :3 (Fair warning though, this ended up being SUPER long… So feel free just to skip to the funfacts if you want HAHAHA)
Please note I may or may not have changed some things in the canon storyline for my own amusement hehe. Nothing too major though.
Tumblr media
Tropes :
Idiots to Lovers, Bestfriends to Lovers, Soulmates, literally the DENSEST people ever … Actually they’re more like cowards. Mutual pining, mutual SIMPING they ADORE eachother they are absolutely WHIPPED, chaotic lovey dovey couple, tooth-rotting fluff, no i mean seriously this is the fluffiest ship EVER, they make eachother both better and worse simultaniously. They share the same braincell. Basically already a couple before they even start dating but they dont realize it.
Kyra: “What?? Ofc we’re not dating lmao wdym we’re just friends!!” <- just held his face tenderly and looked into his eyes adoringly while calling him the prettiest boy in the world and kissing his face all over
Floyd: “yeah lol why would u think that” <- arm around her waist, basically always looking at her with a dopey grin and heart eyes
Tumblr media
First Impressions
When Floyd heard that there was an unexpected appearance of a magicless student at the entrance ceremony that blazed in with a flaming fire tanuki and set fire to the mirror chamber, he was intrigued. When he learned that very same student was, quite literally, from an entirely different world, he was even more intrigued.
Not to mention the fact she lived in that rundown, deteriorating 'dorm' that was literally called Ramshackle, and she was almost expelled with two other guppies on the very first day of school.
But, when he saw her for himself he was... Disappointed.
Often times she just stood by the sidelines, seemingly in her own world with a far-off look in her eyes and an empty smile that ticked him off for no apparent reason.
She never reacted to anything, letting people walk over her like some sort of welcome mat. Somehow, she didn't even feel alive.
To put it bluntly— Floyd thought she was boring.
Just a wimpy, puny little shrimp who didn't even have any magic. Who wouldn't even run away if her life was on the line, weak and defenseless. Naive. How boring, and here he thought he had another play thing... But wheres the fun if he doesn't get a reaction out of it? How lame.
Kyra and Floyd only officially met during book 2.
Kyra passed by Floyd a bunch of times before— but never actually ‘saw’ him. Floyd on the other hand, already had an opinion of Kyra.
Seeing her just simply standing by the sidelines again and saying nothing and just… Staring. He decided to finally approach her straight up.
Deciding to give her a squeeze for the fun of it— he didn’t expect at all for her to hug him back and basically turn the situation on him instead. It flustered him, and made him walk away from the whole scene out of confusion and embarrassment.
Despite everything, Kyra thought Floyd was amusing. and insanely pretty.
Building Interest …
As time passed they seemed to keep catching glimpses of eachother. And with each passing day, she seemed to get more and more... Interesting.
Facing overblots despite having no magic, causing trouble left and right and getting into such ridiculous situations it makes you wonder how she does everything she does without getting tired of how absurd it all is.
When his first impression of her was her being ‘boring', his second was her being naive. How else could you explain it? She had to be either ridiculously brave or incredibly stupid and naive to do the things that she does.
Kyra and Floyd don’t have any notable interactions until the main events of Book 3.
When Kyra decided to strike up a deal with Azul to free all of the students under a contract— Floyd thought she was stupid. Naive, and way too easy of a target. It was laughable. It basically confirmed everything he thought of her.
As Floyd and Jade were monitoring Kyra and Grim as they packed up their things, Kyra acted as if nothing major was happening. Talking to them and cracking jokes like they were old friends. It was then Floyd and Kyra found out they might be more similar than they thought, saying the same things at the same time and holding the same opinions.
When Kyra almost dropped a bag of her things, Floyd helped from impulse. He laughed it off, but Kyra decided to give him a kiss on the cheek as a ‘thank you’.
He froze in place. Not expecting that kind of reaction from her once again, and just kind of… Staring at her as she passed. Jade had another laugh at his brother.
When Kyra first saw Floyd in his merform, he took the chance to try and scare her a little. Just for fun. But just like before— it totally backfired, and Kyra just looked at her with the same wonder as she did the first time. She had the nerve to call him ‘Beautiful’ under her breath, too.
So, Floyd simply swam away after realizing she wasn’t going to give him the reaction he wanted, deciding to play with someone who will.
But when he tried to attack a nearby friend of hers— She punched him straight in the face! A fire burning in her eyes as she straight up threatened him.
Floyd was… Confused. Confused about Kyra, i mean. One moment she was staring at him like he was a of work of art, the next shes throwing hands at him with zero hesitation. He thought she was a pushover— but maybe he was wrong.
She had guts, though. Thats for sure. A magicless little thing like her deciding to put her hands up and fight, even threatening him? A 13ft long eelmer that could rip her apart without a sweat? Something about it.. Scared him a little. Ending up with a bloodied nose, staring down someone who didn’t show any fear or any regret.
Floyd always wanted a challenge. But did he expect that challenge to come in a 5’7 package, decorated with pretty pink bows? No, not at all.
But thats something. And boy, does Floyd love the thrill of the unexpected. After this interaction that past intrigue he had in her before came back 2 times stronger.
It only worsened when Kyra’s little plan to destroy Azul’s contracts actually worked… And Floyd got chills seeing the look on her face.
It was so unlike what he thought of her. A big, smug grin. The face of someone who knows they already won. It was almost malicious. And it was then he realized— she wasn’t as dumb or as naive as he thought she was, either.
But when they got back to the Lounge, it so happened that Leona seemed to have missed one, single contract. When they spotted it, Kyra was the first to react. Managing to grab it before Azul.
Azul wasn’t too happy about it, screeching and yelling for her to give it to him, grabbing her while doing so.
And in that moment of tension, of fear and action, she did something that shocked everyone. In the face of danger, she held the sole contract tightly in her hands and she—
…She ate the contract.
She shoved the glowing papering in her mouth, and swallowed the thing. And it worked. Honestly they didn’t know which was more ridiculous… Her decision, or the fact it was a success.
She grinned so widely, so proudly. She had the nerve to even laugh in Azul’s face. “Yeah, thats right! Screw you, octoboy!”
Floyd couldn’t surpress the laughter that bubbled up his throat watching it all go down. The sound of her laugh ringing in his ears. It was just so… Ridiculous. She was ridiculous.
She had just outsmarted Azul… And the best solution she could think of was to eat the contract? It was downright cartoonish!
But when Azul overblotted, Floyd got to see Kyra in action. He was surprised all over again. But he should be used to it by now, he should expect it. She just keeps surprising him.
She was no pushover— rising up to the challenge when needed. Even if she still acted unserious, even if she acted goofy and wild, she still got down to business and made it work nonetheless.
And he realized she wasn’t anything like what he thought of her before. She was… Nothing like what he thought. Always surpassing his expectations of her no matter how much they changed.
Everytime he thought he had her figured out, she goes and does something that makes him rethink it all over again…
She was very, very interesting. And now, shes got his full attention.
Strangers to Besties!
After the main events of Book 3, Floyd had started following around Kyra more often. Actually, scratch that. He started following her around constantly. She eventually apologized for punching him in the face, too. Surprisingly.
Realizing they were actually very similar, they began hanging out more and more, until they eventually became an inseperable duo that everyone knew about.
At first, most were surprised. Kyra had only just started coming out of her shell, so most were still under the impression she was a sweet, mild mannered young girl.
But after befriending Floyd— all of her self-control truly did go flying out of the window. If she was bad before, she was even worse now. Freely skipping classes more often without a care to go find Floyd, trying to juggle live fish in the courtyard, or jumping out of a window just to escape some of the staff. and the like.
Late night adventures, dancing in the rain, sneaking out of class, spontaneous hang outs and sleepovers, pulling pranks and causing trouble left and right… They were so in sync, its was scary. Kyra was almost like a second Floyd, and everyone knew that it was probably best to run in the other direction when you see them side by side.
No matter what the situation, they always had eachother’s back, too.
It was strange to think they were ever strangers. They felt like they’ve known eachother for years— thats how well they’ve grown to know eachother. They were as thick as thieves!
Hanging out everyday, whenever they could, they just had so much fun together all the time!
To everyone’s dismay, of course. They were far too in sync, if the chaos around one of them was bad it combined when they were together.
Floyd finally found someone who could keep up with him, and even better, keep him on his toes. Kyra surprised him everyday, and thats what he loved. He found someone who understood him, too.
Kyra on the otherhand, found someone who encouraged all of her once repressed desires. She found someone she could be herself with, with no fear of judgement.
Never one without the other, those two. Wherever Kyra was Floyd was surely close to follow, and wherever Floyd was Kyra was most definetly near. They followed eachother around, always stayed close to one another.
Slowly, they’ve grown to not only seek eachother out to go and have fun, but also for comfort.
Platonic ..?
What started as a simple friendship which focused on the high of ‘having fun’ and causing trouble, or just basically being partners in crime— slowly turned into something much more… Intimate.
When Floyd stormed all the way to Ramshackle after a bad day at Mostro Lounge, he didn’t really know what to expect, he just wanted to get away from everyone else and Ramshackle was the best place he could think of.
He didn’t expect Kyra to be so caring. Pulling him into her arms and running her fingers through his hair while encouraging him to rant.
Kyra had always been an affectionate person, he knew that. It started small— little kisses on the cheek and forehead from Kyra to him, hugs and the like. But this was different. It felt different, atleast.
The way she held him felt different, and the way her lips gently kissed his skin made all of the stress from before sizzle into nothing.
He couldn’t help but melt, and before they knew it this became a routine for them, too.
They grew to find themselves comfortable being vulnerable around eachother. Showing sides of themselves to eachother most wouldn’t see. And they knew eachother better than anyone else did.
Simple, friendly touches became something more. The playful wrap of Floyd’s arm around her waist became tighter, and Kyra’s touches on him lingered for longer. Suddenly the playful ‘I Love You’s didn’t seem platonic anymore— atleast not with the way they looked at eachother while they said it.
Simply seeking eachother out to go cause chaos turned into seeking eachother out to just simply be in eachother’s presence instead. Whatever activity they did started to come second, and as long as they were together they were as happy as could be.
Of course, they never recognized this change. In their point of view, they’ve always been like this. But everyone else can see as plain as day, that something definetly changed.
It was painful for everyone involved, really. For some reason neither of them seemed to acknowledge the obvious feelings between eachother.
Everyone could see the way they looked at eachother, the way they acted around eachother… Everything was so painfully blatant… But they still couldn’t admit it. Even when the lines between friendship and intimacy began to blur.
Realizations!
Nothing about their relationship really changed at this point. They just kind of realized their romantic feelings after being deep in denial for WAYY too long.
The first to realize their feelings was actually Kyra, believe it or not. Which is funny because shes never been the best at realizing her own emotions in general.
She was definetly panicked about it, and decided to not say a word of it to anyone. She didn’t want to ruin the friendship they had, after all he was her dearest friend. So she kept her mouth shut and continued on pretending like it was nothing.
She felt selfish having such feelings. She felt as if she didn’t deserve him, like he deserved better than her because she grew up thinking she must be unlovable. And so she kept quiet for the sake of him, too. She thought it was best for the both of them. (<- LIARRRRR!!!!!!)
Floyd realized a little later, it kind of just hit him one day. They weren’t doing anything in particular, he just looked at her and went “Oh. Ohhh.”
Like a lightbulb went off in his head. He didn’t say anything about it either for awhile. Eels are cowards, after all. And he didn’t know if she felt the same. So he just decided to act like nothing happened, continued this routine of theirs that they’ve grown attatched to.
Maybe there were afew times where they wanted to say something about it, to finally admit the unspoken thoughts they’ve had kept in the back of their minds… But they never go through with it. Always backing out last minute, brushing it off.
The two were cowards, dancing around their mutual feelings. Unsure of how the other felt, so they decided to just leave it all unsaid. Even if the look in their eyes said otherwise.
Saying they were just “best friends” was just so much easier. It was what they were used to, what they were comfortable with. It was easier to brush it all off as them being comfortable eachother, sharing beds and exchanging gentle touches. It was all platonic, of course!
…Though Floyd was hesitant with his own feelings. He never expected to find someone that captured his interest so much… Yet he wondered, was he ready to commit?
Strangely, there was no doubt in his mind. It was yes, it always was, yes. The moment he asked himself that question he answered it immediately at the same time.
Of course, because he realized if it was Kyra, there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do. Man, when did he get so whipped for such a silly shrimpy?
Merfolk only choose one mate for life. And Floyd is sure he wanted his to be Kyra.
He was scared of course after realizing his own feelings. Besides Azul and Jade, he's never let anyone get this close to him. It was strange letting Kyra in like this. He didn't plan on her, not at first at least. but now that he has her, he wants to keep her forever.
Man, she just kept surprising him, huh? He never even thought he could feel so deeply for someone. But hes so glad that he found her, that they found eachother.
Difficulties…
When Kyra left with Epel, Rook and Elena during Book 6, Floyd was upset.
Thats an understatement, really. He was furstrated, worried, and somehow he even felt betrayed.
Why didn’t she tell him? Why didn’t she take him with her? Doesn’t she know its dangerous? Whats a shrimpy like her gonna do, huh?
He knows Kyra can take care of herself, he knows shes capable and he knows she can defend herself. But that doesn’t stop him from worrying.
Throughout the span that shes gone Floyd is restless. Hes snappier, hes moodier and he cant seem to stop pacing around no matter how hard he tries.
But when Kyra gets back— he completely ignores her.
Kyra was so very confused. Actually, everyone was. This was a first for the two of them. Honestly, Kyra expected him to run towards her just like he always does. But he doesn’t.
Kyra is back, but that doesn’t change his mood. If anything, it worsens. And Kyra doesn’t have a clue why! Everytime she tries to approach him, he just turns his heel and walks away. And hes never looked at her like… that..
Kyra is a total mess. And suddenly shes not as good as keeping her real feelings at bay like she usually is. She wondered if she did something wrong? Said something wrong? Was he finally sick of her? And that was when she realized— she was terrified of the thought of losing him.
In desperation she went to Jade. Maybe she should’ve asked Elena for advice instead, but before she knew it she was sat infront of Jade, asking for help with his brother.
If anything, Jade seemed amused with her situation. Of course he did. But with a mischevious twinkle in his eye, she had a feeling he had a scheme brewing up in his head.
Maybe she should’ve known better than to trust Jade… But she didn’t really have a choice, or so she thought as much.
Something about this situation felt so… Deliberate. She couldn’t quite put her finger on it, but it seemed like he knew she’d come to him for help sooner or later.
After giving Kyra some advice and words of encouragement, he did something rather out of character of him. Bringing into a hug, he held her rather close to himself.
Kyra didn’t really notice this, and accepted the hug with no hesitation. Wrapping her arms around him and sighing as she melted into the well-needed hug.
Little did she know, Jade’s eyes were glued onto his brother’s figure, looming by the doorframe with a scowl on his face. It made Jade chuckle, deciding to tighten her arms around Kyra juust a little more to see what he’d do.
Of course, Floyd wasn’t happy about it. Now, Floyd is not a jealous person by any means. He has better things to focus on, other things to keep him entertained. But at moments like these, when hes already in a bad mood, he can’t help that primal instict, its in his blood after all. A moray is a moray.
Tearing her away from Jade, he drags her to somewhere else. Leaving a very amused Jade watching them leave.
And so, an argument occurs !!! Its a back and forth, Floyd mad about what he just saw, Kyra trying to explain the situation then her getting mad at him back for avoiding her like the plague.
It ended up with Floyd admitting he was mad because she didn’t tell him about her going with them, but at the same time he was mad at himself for not being able to be with her then.
Kyra realizes that, yeah, she probably shouldve let him know she was going. But she couldn’t just brush off the fact he hurt her by doing what he did, shes grown enough as a person at this point to not let her own feelings go unheard.
Reconcilliation!!! They both apologize and promise to do better, and what better way to catch up on lost time than a sleepover??
Best believe that after they made up, they went back to their normal selves as if nothing happened— actually, maybe even worse with how much clingier they are. They seriously missed eachother, seeing how much they stuck together. 😭
“Home”?
When Kyra got news of the possibility of finding a way back to her home she was in shambles. So very conflicted between the place she called home and the place she felt was home.
She knew she had to leave some day. She knew this freedom she had was temporary. She knew one day, she’d have to go back to the life she grew to despise, the life that was never hers.
She didn’t want to leave, though. Of course she didn’t. But still, she didn’t really have a choice.
She decided she wouldn’t do the same mistake and leave Floyd out of the loop. If anyone deserves to know first, its probably him.
And so, while theyre sitting on the rooftop of Ramshackle she mentions it. And Floyd is… Upset. Of course he is. Hes beyond upset, really. He just got his best friend back, now hes hearing she might be going away again? For good? Forever?
No way. He couldnt accept that, there was no way he could. But before he could even say anything— Kyra spoke first.
“I don’t want to go back. I really, really don’t.”
“…You don’t? Huh? Why?” There was a wave of relief that crashed over Floyd when he heard those words fall from her lips, his eyes glued onto the girl beside him. Hanging onto every word she says. “No. Its just… Its not my home, atleast not anymore. I dont think it is.”
“I think, this is my home now.” She chuckles, eyes glued down to the ground below. “…Because you’re here.” She says, turning to look at him. She spoke in that tone that she only used behind closed doors. When no one was looking. That soft, sweet voice she used whenever she carded her fingers through his hair and whispered sweet nothings to him until he fell asleep. It wasn’t unauthetic like the voice she used when they first met— no, it was genuine. Real. Full of adoration, of fondness. Her gaze held so much love.
“…Hah, what’re you gettin’ all sappy for, Sea Angel? Thats so cringe.” He laughed, but his heart soared. Even if it was cheesey, he couldnt help but swoon with just the way she looked at him. Like he was the most beautiful thing in the world. She always said he was the prettiest boy in the world.
She moved forward, her face leaning ever so close to his, so close he could see every line and curve of her features. He laughed at first, “Hey, what’cha tryna do, huh? What? Do I have somethin’ on my face?” He joked, but she didn’t respond. It looked like she was thinking, like she was deep in thought. “…Kyra?”
Her name left his lips for what was the first time. Hanging in the air like a silent prayer of longing, of want. And her own lips met his. Capturing it in a sweet, sudden kiss.
Time seemed to have stopped. It always felt like that when they were together, but this was different. Nothing could prepare him for that— hell, he didn’t even get the chance to kiss her back, the moment felt as if it went on forever but it was over too quickly all the same.
There was a flash of realization on Kyra’s face as her cheeks flushed a red that could rival Riddle on a rampage. Stumbling and stuttering, she couldn’t handle the embarrassment, and before he could even say anything she ran away. Leaving him on the rooftop, wide eyes and a stomach full of butterflies.
Yeah. Kyra is really stupid sometimes.
After that whole thing, she ran to Leona to let out her thoughts. He listened, though he said he ‘didn’t have a choice anyway’.
“So… You kissed him then you just.. Ran? Seriously?” “I PANICKED!!!”
Floyd and Kyra don’t really interact until Malleus’ overblot. And during the time they’re in Floyd’s dream, shes hoping he doesn’t bring up what happened at the rooftop.
Confession!
The confession takes a long, LOONG time. Im talking probably around book 7 or later. Probably when Kyra confirmed that shes staying in Twisted Wonderland. (Everyone thank Papa Crewel, he sorted out her documents for her :33)
Hehe because eels are cowards and they dont take the shot unless theyre sure it’s a winner. So he waits, and waits some more. And of course, that kiss was the sign he needed to finally just go for it.
Eventually, Floyd does confess. Although I still haven’t thought of the details— it does go something like this.
When Kyra at first laughs at him thinking it was a joke, he got annoyed. He didn’t think this was funny, and after seeing the serious look on his face she stopped immediately.
After realizing he was being genuine, she started straight up BAWLING. Sobbing, because she couldn’t believe someone could ever love her the way she is.
Shes deemed herself as unlovable so very long ago, she didnt expect the person she adored so much to ever love her back. She felt selfish, wanting to accept his feelings. But she wanted to be selfish at that moment.
Floyd has never been one to comfort people. He was never the best at it, but if its her, he’ll try. He always does. It was weird, but if it was her he always found himself doing things he’d never thought he’d do for someone else.
When Kyra started rambling about all of the reasons he “shouldn’t” love her, he started talking about why he loved all of those sides of her. Kissing away her tears n’ all. AUAUAUUUGGHHHH
It was honestly super emotional ESPECIALLY for Kyra, but she of course accepts the confession and they FINALLY KISS PROPERLY OH MY GOD THANK U !! ROUND OF APPLAUSE !!!!!!!
Floyd also calls Kyra by her actual name instead of ‘Shrimpy’ or ‘Sea Angel’ during this confession :3
“Its About Time!”
Honestly, nothing much changes after they confess.
Sure it takes some time to get used to them being officially a couple, but they’re still mostly the same.
However, I’d like to think that they just… Don’t mention it to anyone. Not because they’re keeping their relationship a secret, they just ?? Dont ???? Because they’re weird like that idk and its funny to me
For awhile no one actually knows they’re dating, and one day when someone comments on how they really should just suck it up and start dating they’re like “oh, lol we already are” “WHAT—“
Floyd definetly brags about Kyra a lot though 😭😭 and Kyra does the same… theyre both so down bad its SICKENING.
Funfacts!
Floyd was kind of scared of Kyra for a little while LMAOO 😭 shes a little TOO freaky …
Floyd has stayed over at Ramshackle so much that he’s has a bunch of stuff over there. An extra toothbrush, some changes of clothes, you name it. Its probably there. You can bet Floyd just lets himself into Ramshackle all the time, sometimes even in the middle of the night. But Kyra is always so chill about it 😭 (only because its Floyd HEHE)
Before they even started dating— behind closed doors they already acted like an old married couple 😭
Kyra and Floyd are lowkey super domestic behind closed doors, especially after a sleepover. Waking the other up with kisses ….. Helping eachother get ready for the day, helping eachother get dressed … Cooking together …….. theyre so sickening …………
Even if they aren’t with eachother all the time, they still manage to include eachother in their lives somehow. Whenever they go off on a solo-adventure, they always come back with some sort of trinket that reminded them of the other.
Speaking of, they’re both avid collectors of anything they deem cool enough. Random rocks, acorns, a lost penny, you name it. They like to show eachother the things they found throughout the day to eachother!
They have this silly little game Kyra started. She began hiding little sticky notes with sweet messages or a doodle and sometimes gifts in places she knows Floyd will find, and he’s started doing the same thing. Ever since then, its kind of become more like a competition on who can find the most sticky notes 😭
Kyra gets cuteness aggression from Floyd. Yeah thats it.
^^ she genuinely believes hes the cutest thing ever. Whatever u say queen!!!!
Floyd loves giving Kyra random gifts out of nowhere. The gifts can range from ‘a cool rock’ to a designer jacket. Kyra doesnt know which she prefers HAHAHA
Kyra herself prefers handmade gifts, so she loves to make Floyd pieces of jewelry and clothing! Shes always so proud whenever she sees him wearing something she made :3
Floyd and Kyra have been kicked out of class several times for laughing too hard.
They admitted to eachother before they even started dating that they couldn’t imagine their life without the other… can they pls take the hint omg
Floyd always feels super bad whenever he loses control of his temper around Kyra. One time he snapped at her, and he immediately apologized 😭 he told her to slap him if he ever did that again, hugged her so tight too and Kyra honestly found it so cute 😭
Floyd always perks up whenever he realizes Kyra is close by, always running straight to her. Kyra does the same thing and quite literally jumps into his arms.
Both Kyra and Floyd’s main love language is physical touch!! But Kyra loves to compliment him all the time, and Floyd loves gift giving :3
Kyra always greets Floyd with a kiss on the cheek. Yeah she started doing this before they were event dating im afraid ….
Kyra and Floyd love to read together at night, though Kyra usually falls asleep first AHAHAHA
But !! Kyra is also the first to wake up more often than not, and always wakes Floyd up with butterfly kisses on his face :3
Floyd convinced Azul to add some of Kyra’s favorite foods to the menu of Mostro Lounge just to get her to come visit more often
Kyra fights anyone that bad-mouths Floyd. Floyd doesnt know whether to find it cute or annoyed that she keeps getting herself hurt 😭
^^ SPEAKING OF, Kyra literally unlocked a much more caring side of Floyd with her being so accident-prone 😭 girlie got herself injured so much FLOYD had to step in smh …
Floyd is the kinda guy to carry Kyra if her feet started to hurt while walking or if she sprains an ankle teehee
They’re both banned from an arcade in town after they broke a claw machine and stole all the plushies inside. And other things but that isnt as important.
When Floyd feels like hanging out with her, he’ll look for her around campus then just throw her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes then just walks away. Kyra never struggles or objects and kind of just … accepts her fate 😭
Rambling…
Kyra grew up thinking the love she received will always be conditional. That she always needed to live up to some sort of expectation, and so she created a ‘perfect’ persona in order to do just that.
She still keeps that persona from the Prologue to Book 1, but begins to break away from it during Book 2– but while in her past she was only loved for the version of herself she created for others— it was the opposite with Floyd.
He disliked her so-called ‘persona’, but fell so deeply in love with her real self.
^^ she was very confused, yet so very happy.
Floyd never expected to ever love or care about someone so deeply, but at the same time he can’t imagine anything he wouldn’t do for Kyra.
Floyd thinks everything is fun as long as Kyra is with him <3
Kyra only ever started showing her more vulnerable side to Floyd during her character development. He was the very first to ever see her break away from the unbothered act she always put on.
Floyd was never one to let himself be so soft and vulnerable around anyone, ever. But strangely, he lets his guard down around Kyra. Kyra knows of the much gentler side to him, and she adores it so very much.
Kyra is extremely understanding and patient of Floyd and his mood swings. She knows he’d never intentionally hurt her, and always knows just how to cheer him up. Whether with a silly joke, a spontaneous adventure or just lying in bed with him in her arms.
Kyra trusts Floyd with her LIFE. She trusts him so much its ridiculous. No matter what the situation, she always feels like she can rely on him… But she wont trust him with her food. Or her plushies.

Bro I love fics where Ella is still so in love with Bridget decades later like there's something about seeing this beautifully kind and sweet girl within this cruel and spiteful woman that makes for such grace story telling. When she's given the chance to redo the worse decision of her life, finally getting the chance to choose Bridget over Auradon, finally getting the chance to rectify her mistake and still turning her down. The fact that Bridget wants her to choose her for once, even after everything she still wants Ella to choose her and she doesn't. The way she watched Bridget slowly lose her humanity and blaming herself for not being there to stop it. The way they can see each other in their daughters and trying so hard to help them succeed where they feel as if they failed. Bridget with treating Red's kindness as weakness so that she wouldn’t be hurt like she was, and Ella with teaching Chloe to look out for everyone because maybe if she had Bridget would have never changed. The way that their lives are still so tied to each other even after decades apart, like come on Disney you fucking cowards!!

Im sorry i have to say it..: Get Your Hands Dirty sounds like a love song.
HEAR. ME. OUTT!! (No i dont mean a love song between Chloe n Ella omg 😭)
What I'm implying here is that it sounds like one of those niche high school love stories when one of the lovers(most likely a goodie two-shoes) goes to their mentor/parent/even the person their loving/etc to ask for advice on relationships. Or more specifically, if this person is worth it or even a good person. From the top of my head: I Won't Say (I'm In Love) and the goodie and the wildchild dynamic is pretty similar to Gabriella and Troy from hs musical, which iws(iil) kinda inspired this post tbh but also ive been thinking about this ever since i first watched the movie. (You plop in ur own songs, i js KNOW this trope exists)
Now that we've established the well used niche trope existing in this niche song made by the niche king that is Disney.... why do i think that Get Your Hands Dirty is a love song, i hear?
Lets analyze THE LYRIICS 😈😈
"Right and wrong, cruel and kind, who's to say?" "There's a code that I believe in."
"Robin Hood" "yeah?" "Awesome guy" "yeah!"
"Every choice, you're gonna find there's shades of grey." "There are rules for a reason!"
"So you could then cross that line, theoretically."
"You'd agree?" "But he stole for the poor."
"The decision's always up to you. When there's only one thing left to do"
"I don't know you anymore.."
Okay, so i shortened and made it tiny for obvious reasons, that bein its too long 😭 so! AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO GETS A FEEELIN?? a feelin that this is SCREAMING denial?! Its giving...
Chloe: Ellaaaa.... this girl im talkn to is SOOO HHHOOOOTT and PRETTY and cool and stuff but ugh.... SHE EEEVILLL!!
Ella: oh my gosh.. STFU. Shes prolly not even that evil ill prove it smh..
*get ur hands dirty starts playing. No exaggeration. No cap.*
"Okay, but there's some universal truths you must recognize." "Like?"
"Valiant knights, pure and good, guaranteed" "That depends on what they're fighting for"
"Creepy witches selling potions for evil deeds" "She could have kids she's providing for"
"If your good-good things will come to you"
MORE denial, Chloe wants to be friends with Red SO bad she looks stupid, but she brings herself back by trying to prove to herself that she's evil and they SHOULDN'T be that close. Which also is a big sign of comphet and heteronormativity, i would know (which is a post for another day i might make. Prolly 2 prove that Chloe is a lesbian in deep comphet)
"But just how far do you go? How much do you compromise? Oh, tell me, how do you know. Where do you draw the line?"
"There's nothing I wouldn't do. If my heart tells me it's right. If it's for someone I love. If it's to save a life."
"To save your life."
Further deepening the trope i mentioned. The first line could be interpreted as a double meaning since the song is kind of mostly about Chloe coming to terms with the fact Red isn't really evil or as bad as she thought, plus the argument of where the line between evil and good is. It could refer to Red or Ella, maybe both, but Ella changes the meaning with her own experiences so it drifts off the focus from Red because we cant have ANYTHING 🤧 but i still believe Chloe intended it to be for Red since the entire song is really just for the progress of their relationship n stuff.
Now this could definitely all be in my head, yes, Disney would most likely NEVER canonize or even imply heavily a queer relationship or anything lgbtq on a pre established franchise (cowards.). But there is always a chance.... deep inside the dark heart of the mouse..
Plus, with the subtle hints here and there of Red and Chloe's relationship growing, romantically or not, they are still super close and love eachother alot. Chloe is js (kinda) canonically a girl kisser who cant help but find a girl kissable (same)
And don't get me started on this movie and its obsession with love and proving how it is not "ain't it". Hello...? They set the tone of love, but i see NO person close enough to Red established for this message (other than Chloe) and if they introduce some random guy in the next movies, NO ONE would care nor would they want it unless somehow its 100x better than redcharming, but thats impossible cz wlw 4 life.
So, this entire thingy is me basically finding scraps and wanting to provr that charminghearts IS canon and WILL be established soon! (Im delulu)

the rise of red ending we deserved…
okay so hear me out, I was thinking of an alternate ending to rise of red, since the one we got was highly questionable (at best)
so red and chloe go back in time, stop bridget from turning evil, all that stuff right. and then once they come back to the opening ceremony, the queen of hearts does her little card trick and up to this point, everything’s the same.
then red approaches her, happy that their mission worked, and she’s like “mom?” and the queen of hearts turns around to face her, crinkles her brow and goes “oh, I’m sorry, have we met before?”
at the same time, chloe sees her mother’s still alive so she runs up to her to give her a hug. but cinderella turns around, confused, and says, “excuse me? do I know you?” chloe is like “wait what do you mean, I’m your daughter.” and cinderella is obviously shocked, and she’s like “I don’t have a daughter.”
AND THEN the queen of hearts walks over to cinderella, holds her hand, and says, “darling, do you know these two?” to which cinderella shakes her head no.
so basicallyy, since the prank never happened, bridget and ella went to castlecoming as planned and everything. I mean sure, ella danced with charming, but because bridget didn’t get cold and angry and never pushed ella away after that night, like she would have in the original timeline, ella and bridget remained close friends. they relied on each other, with bridget helping ella through her tough family life and ella protecting bridget from uliana.
so they grew up super close and finally, when they’re adults, got married. the movie ends with the realization that now that the prank never happened, neither red nor chloe were ever born.
and then this perfectly sets up the next movie, because red and chloe have to decide what to do. I mean they don’t even exist in this timeline anymore, their own mothers don’t remember them. but the only other option would be to go back in time and make sure bridget becomes evil, but then would it be worth sentencing her to a miserable life of hatred and loneliness, when she has everything she wants now with ella?
guys disney should have done this if they WERENT COWARDS, I mean c’mon it would’ve set up the perfect plot for d5. anyways this is just a silly little headcannon of mine hehe :))
(can you tell I absolutely love this ship? like glasshearts is good, but bridget x ella [is there a ship name for them? if there is please tell me I need to know] will forever be my otp in this fandom. like they would’ve been so good together, ella would have given bridget the world 😭 I actually NEED a scene of the queen of hearts and cinderella singing and dancing to “so this is love” like ella and charming did in the beginning of the movie. disney PLEASE IM BEGGING YOU—)

@neatie-o you're so sexy and i was actually talking yesterday about how bomb hella it would have been... if marvel really wanted to do the gratuitous cameo route for this movie with heaps of mega ultra fanservice and gore – why... why didn't they... why didn't they just...
Tumblr media
justify all your gratuitous cameos because that is. the whole plot.
nerds NUT because wade is coming up with clever creative new ways to kill everybody. there will not be a dry seat in the house
you can still lead up to deadpool corps sure whatever. and they'd have more of a reason to be there.
funny hilarious way to send off the fox universe. wade kills everybody in the name of disney. i think it would be funny.
i know they're worried to make deadpool unlikeable or whatever but
1. loki is a fan favourite even after not one but TWO genocide attempts so truly anyone can be redeemed 2. people like deadpool no matter what we're like hahaha nooo deadpool doooon't kill the marvel universe haha you're so hot 3. they made him unlikeable anyway
but of course ... marvel is full of illiterate cowards who have never seen a comic book so what can i do

disney is a coward so I know they'll never do this, but given what we learned was SUPPOSE to happen between alex and stevie, I would still love a post-eloping for the reboot.
like just imagine alex and stevie as the Cool Gay Aunts(tm) for justin's kids (+ billie). they show up for the holidays and totally shower the kids with magical gifts, including a baby dragon for the boys (which does end up setting fire to their parents bed sheets). milo shows off a magic trick to his friends, using alex (since billie's not allowed to) sneakily casting spells from the bushes so the card really does dissapear from his hand, leaving his friends cheering (stevie smiling but refusing to admit to alex how cute is it). stevie has a motorcycle (which alex thinks is super hot but also refuses to admit) and while the kids aren't old enough for a ride, she does let them sit on it and rev the handles nice and loud while justin panics from the porch. they team up with all three kids to pull pranks on justin and even sometimes get giana in on a few harmless ones. maybe alex even uses her role on the tribunal to get stevie's records cleared, and they both start to advocate for a more fair way of distributing magic between families.
and billie could have an extra adult at her side! I know justin is suppose to fill the pseudo-dad role, but while billie spends her time with the russo's, also gets to spend her summers or whatever with her two cool wizard aunts. they encourage her to keep up with her studies but for the most part they just chill, letting billie indulge in a few sweets (knowing how health-conscious justin has forced his family to be) and sometimes in a pg-13 movie together. when she's there however, the house does turn into a prank war; guests are to be extremely careful when entering and encouraged to bring a separate pair of clothes.
I dunno it would just be super cool; alex and stevie reunited and I think the kids would love her too - plus watching their aunt who's always acted so aloof get all smiley and whatnot and I'm just imagining a scenario with alex and the kids like:
billie: why does stevie call you babygirl
alex: hey who wants to play the quiet game!!
#wizards of waverly place#wowp#wizards beyond waverly place#disney channel#I would LOVE a reappearance of stevie though just imagine it#even though billie has been training something happens where the council finally decides to strip her of her powers like alex warned about#alex and justin try going to talk to the council on billie's behalf but have to leave her behind#and when billie's all alone you suddenly see stevie slink from the shadows with a 'hey kid..'#billie is nervous at first but stevie says she actually wants to help her and that it's not fair what's happening to her#and says if billie comes with her then she can keep her powers and in a moment of worry billie makes the split decision to go with her#I dunno how alex finds out maybe roman sees it happen too late and says some girl took billie#'what girl??' 'I dunno! she was a wizard too - she kept her wand in her boot!'#and IMMEDIATELY alex knows what happened#alex eventually finds stevie and there's this VERY tense moment when they see each other#stevie still mad at alex for 'betraying' her (even if stevie was kinda right but nvm) and who's she's aligned with now#'you workin' for the man now russo? gone soft?' 'at least I'm not straight-up stealing kids'#alex still feeling a bit guilty about what she did to stevie but mad at her for taking billie#there's an almost fight (verbal or magical whichever) but in some outside chaos they loose billie#now they're forced to team up to find her#and although it's cold at first they both warm up again to each other having missed their friendship (even if it was short lived)#stevie quietly admiring how much further alex has gotten with magic and how she's excelled#and alex still having a soft heart for stevie wanting to help the wizards who got abandoned#anyway they find billie but the council is alerted to what happened and is now on their way to them to capture stevie#a cornered alex pleads with stevie saying she can persuade the council to let her go and while stevie's heart skips at that#she knows it's no use and uses her magic to create a pocket dimension to escape or something#but not before kissing alex on the corner of her lips and saying 'till next time russo - give that stuck-up council some hell for me'#freezing alex who's seconds from pulling her back and then disappears#billie enters and unfreezes alex and watches her face slowly turns crestfallen as she realizes#'do you think we'll ever see her again?' 'your guess is as good as mine kid..' '..do you want to?' '....lets head back home.'#WHAT I WOULDN'T GIVE

OKAY I FINALLY WATCHED GRAVITY FALLS. TEN YEARS LATE I KNOW. i was expecting to have to power through a bunch of boring kid stuff to get to the actual interesting drama and i was so so wrong i locked tf in and finished it in two days. it's so good what the actual fuck. heres my thoughts on the main characters
mabel: when i was the actual target audience for this show i saw a bit of mabel while flipping through disney XD and i immediately concluded that she was annoying af and i would never watch this show because of her. i would like to repent for this evil evil take by flinging myself belly down onto shattered glass. MABEL MY BABY GIRL...if they ever put her in another Situation or Scenario ill kill someone fr. she's a little too selfish and a little too pushy sure but so genuinely KIND and SWEET and so willing to make a fool of herself to pull her dumb brother out of his head. that unicorn doesn't know jack i hope she gets everything she wants forever
dipper: if i had watched gf as a kid i would have been in very real danger of naming myself after this guy (which doesn't even work bc im not nearly as cool as him!! the woodland creatures would have eaten my ass). it would've been so easy to give him a generic gaining confidence arc but he is never a coward when it really matters and i think that's great. he may not be able to talk to a girl but he can and will beat a gnome to death with a shovel for touching his sister!!! also yeah he is extremely transgender.
stan: OUUUUUGH. STARTS SOBBING. stanley pines the man that you are. i assumed at first that his plot would be about Learning To Love but no he is 100% on board with being the world's best grunkle from minute one. he definitely fucks up sometimes (putting waddles outside comes to mind as does. The Other Thing) but he always tries his very best to fix it. every action he takes just oozes with care for his family. every time i thought he had a motivation that wasn't his family they pulled the rug out from under me and revealed that it was, in fact, just his family again. he would give everything for them. AND HE LITERALLY DOES??? im gonna vomit. he hand stitched fishing hats 😭😭😭
wendy: definitely my least favorite of the main cast im sorry wendyheads...i just feel like there isn't a lot to get into here. every time they imply there's something more going on with her or her family they just snap her right back into The Coolest Girl In The World which might be fun but it's not that interesting.
soos: SOOS MY FRIEND SOOS!!!! i wobbled on him during the middle of the show bc i felt like they were making him Genuinely Dumb instead of just a good babysitter but they pulled his characterization back around by the end i think. he is like me in that he would also die for the mystery twins without hesitation or regret 💖. a lesser show would've been really mean about soos but gf is BASED and SOOSPILLED so he gets what he deserves. he does not have to lose weight or drop his "childish" interests or stop living with his grandma to WIN AT LIFE. awesome girlfriend! dream job! big house! stan using that boat to hunt down his bio dad and kill him, probably!
ford: ill be honest and admit i hated this guy at first but eventually i learned to live laugh love about his massive incredibly fragile ego ruining everything all the time and now i am a big ford enjoyer. what a FREAK oh my god. he believed his journals to be capable of destroying the world and still refused to destroy them because they're His Life's Work????? he had the painfully obvious option to tell bill he didn't know the equation and stall for time and chose instead to say that OBVIOUSLY he knows it he's the SMARTEST MAN ALIVE he's just not TELLING YOU 😤 and then immediately got tortured????? he spent most of his screentime projecting his relationship issues onto an Actual Child?????????? he needs to go to therapy and learn he's not the main character of the universe but he will not be doing that so i can only hope the boat fixes him. if i was stanley i'd've fed him to the shapeshifter.
bill: SIGH. YES OKAY HE'S MY FAVORITE. I KNOW I'M FUCKING PREDICTABLE DON'T @ ME. i spent 90% of his screentime cracking up and the other 10% making Homosexual Detection Eyebrows at my brother! the ideal ratio!!!!! i can't wait to get my hands on the book so i can poor little meowmeow him more efficiently. i knew i was saving that barnes & noble gift card for something important.

Wheezy Weasel x Younger!Reader || Drabble
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Plot: That 🔼🔼🔼
Warnings: Age difference + smoking + smuttiness. Unedited.
Tagging: @astridflo , @disney-android-foundation , @marinerainbow , @moxiiscool .
You loved him. Or you were obsessed with him. Or both. You knew that, for sure. You just never knew... if he felt the same. He kept his feelings very close to the vest; worried you were so young and he was a fucking creep.
Maybe he was, he was already a thug anyway, but you sure didn't care. In fact the sooner that the old bastard came to terms with being a creep, the better for you.
So no, despite your feelings (Your very obvious feelings, that you don't even attempt to hide from anyone, least of all him), you were not a couple. Still though, you often found yourself hanging all over him late at night, after the other weasels have all gone to bed. Your legs spread across his thighs, or leaning against him, or fully sat in lap. For some reason... he never complains. There was a silent understanding, even if one of you was tired, you would stay up and watch TV together; and pretend it was by coincidence.
Tonight you're particularly tired, feeling foggy and affectionate. It had been a long day and all you could think about now was Wheezy; you wanted to cuddle up to him and stay there for as long as possible; you didn't even care about the smell. After you absentmindedly watch Greasy, the last one to go off to bed, your gaze shifts over to Wheezy looking handsome as hell- as always- smoking a couple cig's tucked between his teeth so the grey smoke puffs slowly, softly upwards towards the ceiling in warm billows. His eyes seem to glow dangerously behind it, watching TV even though he knows you're watching. You always liked that.
"... hey Wheezy?" You ask, shifting across the couch and gently laying your legs over his lap, and wrapping your arms around one of his. This causes him to sigh through grit teeth, because god forbid he let the cigarettes go for a second, and relax under your touch almost immediately. Like he cant help it. You like that, too. You never miss it; you always make sure to watch, when you touch him.
"Yeh?"
"How come you smoke?"
At this he glances down at you, scary luminescent crystalline hues gliding down your body and- oh. Thats unexpected. He- did he really just- Yes, he actually did.
Your cheeks warm up as he shrugs, turning back to the TV. "What can I say? Keeps my mouth and my hands busy. 'therwise I start sayin' things I shouldn't. Doin'... uh, things, I shouldn't."
"Well- do you think you'll ever stop smoking?"
"Babygirl, I'll stop this fucken second, if you gimmie a better use for my hands and mouth." As soon as he says that your eyes light up and you part your lips to respond- but he beats you to it. Realises what he said. "Oh, fuck. Listen, I didn't mean it that way. Yer too young, y' know that. I could be yer grandpa. Thats that."
Immediately your face falls, even though he sounds more like he's telling himself. Even though he likes you hanging off him. Even though he stays up to be with you. Against all the evidence, because its always this way. He never wants to take the last little step; he's a coward.
You're not even that young, you think, frustrated. Just because he's an old man... A pout appears on your face and when he glances at you, and sees it on your cute lips, it breaks something in him.
You only know it when he turns suddenly towards you and flicks his burning cigarettes into the ash tray on the coffee table. " -'then again, I could be a fucken idiot."
"Wh- "
His lips slam into yours and you release a whimper on impact, parting your lips immediately for him and accepting his experienced tongue into your mouth for the first time. His hands fall down your body, guiding you to lay down and wrap your legs around him- one at a time. Dragging your right leg over his hip and then the left. When you're all wrapped around him you can feel how hard he is for you. Fuck. He must've been like that the whole time.
His lips glide down over your chin and over your throat, leaving hot firm kisses all along the way, and talking gruffly against your skin between every touch; his fingers in your hair holding you still. "Look. what you fucken. did now. Kid. Made me a scumbag. Like Grease. Well," His lips graze gently back upwards, over your lips. When he doesn't immediately kiss you again you have to force your eyes to crack open. See him looking sternly at you; almost scary but it only makes you feel hotter, more light headed. "Now I'm all yours. Your-fucken-problem. Congrats." He says it like its a penalty. A punishment, somehow, instead of what you wanted. "'lright?"
He was asking you one last time. Giving you one last Out.
Goddamnit, this man!-
Instead of answering that stupid question, you lean up and kiss him deeply. "Take me now... "
"Jesus."

Hey I don’t want to comment for real bc I’m sick of arguing with people on tumblr
I just wanted to say that in that post about deadpool and wolverine’s queerness, you are like 1000% in the right. Normally I don’t feel this strongly about stuff but anyone who thinks that Disney seriously and earnestly “delivered” on deadpool (and wolverine?) being queer is delusional
I mean, I love the movie. I’ve seen it twice and giggled my way through it both times. Obviously I enjoy the queer aspect of their relationship. But what you said about being able to be critical of your favorite media is important. The fact that people are arguing that there are no issues with the gay jokes in d&w but ACTUALLY it’s all indicative of a genuinely made film about two queer men is like actually SO crazy
Thank you, yes! The movie is absolutely amazing in the fact it's funny and well written. And yes I like the gay jokes, they're cheeky and enjoyable. But I think they'd be more enjoyable if any amount of Wade's (and also Logan's) queerness was taken seriously. Even just a little seriously.
I think the part that annoyed me about the movie most was Wade breaking up with Vanessa. Yeah it works for the movie and his character development. But at the same time I can't help but assume the reasoning for it was so queer people could go "hey they're both single, maybe just maybe Deadpool and Wolverine will get together?" No they won't this is Disney. He'll probably be back together with Vanessa eventually (even if it's not immediately).
Like I said on the comments of the post you're referring to; saying this is good queer rep is just an excuse so Disney (and Marvel) doesn't have to actually try to make good representation. The MCU has had many issues like this before. The single Loki bisexual conversation only for them to chicken out on the mlm ship they were hinting at in S2 promotions. Loki also being labeled as genderfluid in promo stuff just for him to be referred to as a male Loki and such. Characters who are canonically bisexual in the comics like Starlord showing absolutely zero hints to their queerness. Eternals is the only real representation I can think of, but it felt very one note and boring. Like that whole movie.
In conclusion Deadpool is a great movie but my biggest gripe is just that the queer aspect is not taking seriously. As much as I love the Honda Odyssey scene, it would be cool if it wasn't just a weird mix of coding/bait. Queer coding is still a great writing tool. Using metaphors for queerness in fantasy can be fun. But the reason queer coding existed in the first place is because you weren't allowed to show any queer people on screen. But times have changed! You can show it, but Disney are cowards. The movie is also queerbaity as they set up things like Vanessa's break up only to start them almost back up again with Logan himself telling Wade to go for the girl. Not to mention all the promotional posters like Deadpool and Wolverine as Beauty And The Beast. Disneyland Deadpool is also being VERY heavy on the gay jokes, which makes me feel like they KNOW who their main target audience was gonna be with this movie, but they still need to cater to the movie dudebros as well. Maybe one day guys, maybe.
It's important to be critical of even your favorite media. If you weren't then it could never improve. Let your voices be heard! And to the people who think movies don't deserve such debate; why do you think that? So many people say that so they don't have to discuss representation in media but then turn around and rant about the comic accuracy. Also what do you think happens in a writers room? Criticism is important in media even to professionals. A movie is a group effort, many people had different ideas that eventually came together and made Deadpool 3. They also probably had many ideas that were shut down and not put in Deadpool 3 for various reasons. Some most likely being criticisms.
Ok I'm done ranting now. Deadpool 3, great movie, one of my favorites. But it would have benefited not only itself by being true to Wade and Logan letting them be their authentic queer selves; But it also would have benefited the queer community.

Sixty Eight
Dancing in the Dark Masterlist
1986
The summer days were hot, blistering and warm. But it was much better than the Indiana humidity, in Billy’s opinion. He was sure that he would never go back. There wasn’t one redeeming trait about that small town.
Kim was sitting next to him, her cheeks flushed and collarbones a little burned. She was fully hidden this time, as it had only been a few weeks since she had a rather painful sunburn on her back that had resulted in some fairly nasty blisters. Her hair had grown a smidge lighter from being out in the sun so much, making her hair look more pink than red. It matched the color of her lips, as she licked away at a strawberry ice cream cone.
“I don’t understand,” She continued on, “Why doesn’t Tommy just ask her out? He never had an issue asking me.” She chewed on her cone, looking towards the waves thoughtfully. They spent every day at the beach, sometimes only for a few hours if either of them worked; but they still went.
He no longer worked with her at the bakery, as he had fully accepted his position at the restaurant he was working at. He truly did enjoy learning new recipes and practicing different methods. Even if he had to wear a dumb uniform.
“He’s a pussy,” He grinned as he licked the melting liquid from her fingers, “He says Alma is scary.” He shrugged his shoulders, deciding that Tommy just didn’t appreciate her sarcasm. That had to be it.
“She’s not that bad,” Kim shook her head, “I don’t think he has anything to worry about.” She furrowed her eyebrows together, likely thinking about how shy she had been around Alma for quite some time.
“He still won’t do it,” He shrugged his shoulders, “He’s a coward.” He admitted, unsure of what made his friend want to so desperately run away from what he truly wanted. He supposed he couldn’t judge too harshly, he’d done something similar before.
“Hm,” She hummed as she wiped her hands clean on her towel, her slender legs bent as she rested her head against the chair she was resting on, “Maybe you should set them up. Like on a blind date.”
“Ha,” He replied dryly, “I don’t think either of them would appreciate that.” He told her honestly, thinking about how much of a mess it would actually bring. Tommy would more than likely find something to break once again. He always broke something when he was around Alma.
“It could work,” She hummed softly, “Max said she’s going to Florida with Lucas and his family.” She brought up a different topic as flipped her book open to where she had dog tagged it, before she closed it once again.
“Hope she doesn’t get knocked up.” He grumbled as he shook his head, hoping that Susan had at least had the talk with Max. Perhaps she wouldn’t be as in the dark about things.
“Billy!” Kim sat up, eyes wide as she stared at him in horror, “They’re kids!” She squeaked out frantically, looking horrified at the idea. He chuckled as he shifted his sunglasses back over his eyes.
“Just saying,” He held up his hands innocently, deciding it wasn’t best to compare his own experiences at Max’s age, “Russell wants to go to Disney for his birthday.” He added, thinking of the essay that Russell had written out and delivered to Rosemary and Sam.
“Of course he does,” She grinned, “I wouldn’t expect anything less. Oh I want to get those little mouse ears! We could get matching ones.” She held both of her index fingers up by her head, smiling brightly as she wiggled them back and forth.
“Cute,” He hummed, knowing he’d never be caught dead in one of them, “I’m sure it would match your cute nose.” He pointed out as he leaned forward to poke at her nose. Her smile was bright, almost blinding as she leaned against him.
“We could go there for our anniversary.” She suggested on their walk back, gripping her book and towels in one hand and leaving her other hand free for him to hold.
“No way,” He said with a chuckle, glancing towards her as she squinted to shield the sun from her eyes, “How could we get anything done if we’re surrounded by a bunch of children?” He questioned, chuckling softly at the way she giggled.
“True,” She added as she nodded her head, “Then perhaps we could do something else?” She paused for a moment, furrowing her eyebrows together in deep thought. He nudged her softly as they moved onto the sidewalk.
“Something else for sure,” He chuckled as he shook his head, really unsure of what she wanted to do, “What do you have in mind?” He asked, feeling like he needed to plan for it if they were going to do something big.
“Something romantic?” She asked as she shrugged her shoulders, wrinkling her nose up as she stepped inside the house, “We don’t have to go far.” She reassured him, her thoughts already lost as she bent down to give Pearl a quick greeting.
June twenty third crept along, far faster than what Billy was really ready for. After a long debate they decided on a day out on a boat and a fancy restaurant before they returned back home. Of course, it didn’t really rule out in that way.
On the way to the dock a different sign had caught her eye, sparking her excitement as she quickly begged to visit the ranch instead. It was an odd change, but he didn’t mind one bit. She seemed happy to be outside, to be surrounded by so many animals.
“Look,” She grinned as she pulled the reins a little tighter, squealing as the horse moved forward a bit, “I’m on a horse!” She pointed out gleefully once again, grinning before she fell into step with him once again.
“A natural cowgirl,” He pointed out, nodding his head towards her as he looked at the little pink hat that she had gushed over in the store. He felt that it was only right to buy it for her, “Maybe you were meant to live on a farm.” He teased her.
“I would like that,” She grinned as her eyes took in the scenery, “Think of all the animals we could have.” She gripped the reins tightly with one hand, using the other to lean forward to pet the horse she was on. Her eyes twinkled with joy as her features twisted up into delight.
“Think of the snakes.” He replied dryly, teasing her as he clearly knew she’d have an issue with them. And the bugs. She didn’t like bugs, but she didn’t want him to kill them either. Not that he preferred to do that, but sometimes the rather large spiders were hard to simply scoop up and let out the door.
“I’d have you to take care of them,” She smiled gently, “Or perhaps Max would want to join us. We could have a big farmhouse and everyone could live together.” She rambled on, already painting a picture of it within her mind. He smiled at the image.
“Sounds crowded,” He said with a laugh, “Maybe we could all have our own houses.” He suggested a second later, feeling like that would be far better for all of them. They could see each other all the time, without having to step over one another.
“I see nothing wrong with that.” She added as she glanced over her shoulder, smiling at him before she continued on. He shook his head, watching her go before he followed behind. He didn’t trust her getting too far ahead, fearing that she’d somehow get knocked off of her horse. She’d had one hell of a time trying to get on the animal.
He was sure that out of the whole experience, feeding the baby cows was her favorite part. She lingered for far too long around them, hugging and kissing at their faces as she held the bottle up to their lips. He was almost fearful that she’d try to escape with one of them.
“These are good,” She said as she nodded her head, the sauce from the wings smeared against the corners of her lips, “Really good.” They had eaten through so many of them already that Billy was beginning to feel sick. “Better than some nice restaurant?” He asked her, his words slightly mumbled before he took another large bite from his drumstick. They had gone through so many so quickly that he was beginning to feel a little sick.
“So much better,” She told him playfully as her lips curled up into a grin, “I bet we could easily make these.” She replied as she pulled her wing away from her mouth, staring at it thoughtfully before she took another bite from it. Smothered in ranch of course.
“You think so?” He asked her, fairly certain that it wouldn’t be that bad to create but he wanted to hear her thoughts regardless. He enjoyed her far too much.
“You and Rosemary are so good at cooking,” She said with a smile, “I bet the sauce would taste even better. And the ranch.” She added as she licked the corner of her thumb clean, making a face as if she had just realized what sort of mess she had made.
“You’d have to help us,” He told her seriously, “You’re just as good.” He pointed out. She wasn’t doing it for a living, but she had saved him from starving because of Susan’s horrible cooking more than once.
“Perhaps,” She added softly, “But I like when you cook for me. It makes me feel special.” She smiled sweetly, still bearing the evidence of the wing she had just finished. He chuckled as he leaned forward.
“You are special,” He hummed as he wiped at the corner of her lips, “The only one I’d do it for.” He winked playfully as he licked the sauce away from his thumb. Her eyes widened fora moment, cheeks burning before she shook her head. Looking quite sure of her next answer.
“Not true.”
“You think so?” He asked with a raised eyebrow, already knowing that she was wrong. She was the only one that got to see him like that.
“You’ll cook for our kids,” She stated before her face lit up even brighter, “One day.” She added shyly, eyes softening as she gazed at him. He grinned at her response, quite taken with the way she spun his answer around. “I suppose you’re right then.” He hummed as he wiped his hands clean on the napkin in front of him. The sauce was beginning to dry, becoming sticky on his fingers.
“Ice cream after?” She asked him as she tilted her head, eyes flashing with hope as she turned towards him. He chuckled.
“Of course.” He nodded his head along, feeling like it was silly for her to assume that they wouldn’t have some sort of dessert after all of this. He wasn’t necessarily in the mood for ice cream, however.
It was late when they returned, the moon placed high into the dark sky as they both quietly shut the doors to the Camaro. He crept up behind her, grinning as he gripped her waist and dragged her towards the side of the house.
“Billy,” She giggled softly, tilting her head back as he brought his lips across the curve of her neck, “What are you doing?” She whispered softly, the sounds rolling off gloriously from her tongue as he licked at her skin.
He moved his lips up towards her mouth, answering her question with a kiss to her lips. He inhaled slowly, breathing in the taste and smell of her. He moved his hands towards the back of her head, threading his fingers through her hair as a soft squeak left her lips.
He pressed her up against the side of the house, kissing her deeply as her tongue frantically flicked against his. His lips tingled from the sensation, his insides burning as she looped her leg around his waist. She began to grind her hips up slowly, making him groan as his cock began to ache.
He moved a hand down to her ass, squeezing her flesh in his hands before he lifted her completely against him. She moaned as her hands fell to his shoulders, gripping him tightly as her ankles linked together.
He pulled away for just a second, spitting against her bottom lip before she quickly licked it up. He groaned as he brought his hands down to her jeans, struggling for a moment before he was able to wiggle them down far enough to rest on her thighs. She giggled nervously as she clung to him, eyes wide as if he might drop her. He wouldn’t ever.
“Slut,” He teased her before he unzipped his jeans, smirking at the soft gasp that left her lips. She chewed on her bottom lip, watching him rather intensely as he slid the head of his cock inside of her glistening hole, “S’nice and warm for me.” He mumbled as he dropped his head to the crook of her neck, sighing as he slowly filled her.
She felt too good squeezing around his fat girth, her walls slick and comfortable as he bottomed out inside of her. He stayed there for a moment, listening to her soft whimpers and enjoying the sensation of her fingertips digging into his skin before he moved again.
He bit down on her neck softly, holding her in place as he thrusted into her deeply and slowly. She crooned softly, whines rolling out from deep inside of her chest as pleasure sparked through his body.
“God,” She whined as she drifted her eyes up towards him, looking at him lustfully. He felt his heart beating roughly, but not from the way he was holding her and dragging her along the length of his cock. The look he gave her made him weak in his knees, made him tremble underneath her touch, “You feel so good.” She whispered in his ear, her voice carrying like a melody as he held her close to him.
Her hands were everywhere as she clung to him, the slick from her coating his balls at the deep way he rutted into her. He could feel sweat forming on the back of his neck from how warm it was outside, despite the sun being hidden away for the time being.
He muffled his groans into her skin, sighing deeply as the head of his cock pressed deep against the spongy spot within her. She whimpered from against him, her heading dropped back against the side of the house. He brushed his nose against her cheek, inhaling deeply as he slid further inside of her.
The sound of muffling next door stalled his movements for a moment, just a quick second before he was thrusting roughly inside of her once again. She felt too good around him to stop; facing the consequences of the neighbors would be well worth it.
“You hear that?” He chuckled softly against her mouth, grunting at the way her pussy clamped down around him, “The neighbors might find out how big of a whore my little sister is.” He whispered before he licked at her neck, tasting the sweat from their actions.
“Shh,” She whispered breathlessly, lips pressed tightly together as she tried to keep her moans muffled, “S’not funny.” She mumbled back, eyebrows furrowed together as the pleasure became evident on her features.
“No,” He agreed as he thumbed at her clit, grunting at the way her pussy spasmed around his thick girth, “It would be sexy. They deserve to see what a little whore you are.” He teased her, tilting her head as her fingers dug deeper into his flesh. She moaned a little too loud, looking frustrated at how she was unable to keep quiet.
He kissed at her mouth again, savoring the way her moans rolled off of her tongue and onto his own. He dragged his mouth against hers greedily, tasting as much of it as he could as he continued to rub at the little bud between her legs. She cried out against him, drooling into his mouth as she came harshly around his girth.
He sighed against her mouth, savoring the feeling of her cunt spasming around the curve of his cock. He groaned as he gripped at her hips, squeezing softly as he continued to pull her body against his dick. He grunted as he licked at her mouth, tasting the last of her cries before his dick twitched inside of her.
“Fuck,” He hummed, pulling away for just a second at the feeling of himself cumming inside of her. He hissed as his teeth grazed against her cheek, biting down softly as his spunk painted her pretty walls, “Mhm, Kim.” He whispered softly, his breath mingling with hers as she panted against his mouth.
“Billy,” She giggled softly in response, rubbing her palm across his shoulder as he tightened his grip around her, “Mhm. Feels nice.” She giggled as she squirmed against him, making him figure that their position was quickly becoming uncomfortable. He pecked the corner of her lips gently before he slowly withdrew his softening dick from her slick walls.
“Did you enjoy today?” He hummed softly as he set her back down, taking careful motions to dress her first before he worked on getting his own zipper up. She tucked her hair behind her ears, showing off how long it was getting once again.
“I loved it,” She replied dreamily as she smoothed her palms across his shoulders gently, slightly shaking as she grinned up at him, “I hope it’s like this every year.” She said softly, making him grin in response.
“It will be.” He promised.

The beginning of July brought a new surprise as Addi and Eddie arrived at the doorstep, bags crammed in his van as they headed towards the motel they would be staying at. Marriage. They were going to get married. That day. And they requested Kim and Billy as their witnesses.
“Your mom is going to be so upset.” Kim spoke up as she continued to braid back Addi’s dark hair, careful not to leave any strands behind. She hadn’t had much time to think about dressing up for herself, deciding that her prom dress was the fanciest one that she owned.
“She’ll get over it.” Addi shrugged, her features wrinkled up so tightly in joy that Kim knew it would be hard to break. Not that she wanted to. She just didn’t want Addi’s parents to be upset with either of them, to cause any issues.
She looked very pretty, however. Stunning. The dress had been a quick find in some thrift shop from a random state they had stopped at. But it was white, full of lace that hung just a little too loose to her body. The sleeves were long enough that they drifted down towards the waist of her dress, giving her a very ethereal silhouette.
“What made you decide to get married here?” She hummed as she finished the braid, then began to wrap it back up carefully so it would sit on the top of Addi’s head. She smiled softly as she thought about Billy, thinking about how much fun he must be having right now.
“It was just the last stop,” Addi answered honestly as she met Kim’s eyes in the mirror, “And I thought it would be nice to have my bestest and most dearest friend there with me.” She added as she gently touched the back of Kim’s hand. It made her a little emotional suddenly, thinking of how far the two of them had come. She was glad they were still friends and hoped that they’d have many, many funny situations to think back on.
They stayed a week after the ceremony before they returned to Hawkins. To home, they had both said. It was odd for Kim to think about, but she supposed everyone was there for them. She often still wished that Max still lived with her, that Susan was closer. But she was still happy, glad that she had Billy. She wouldn’t make it without him.
-
“This is the main hallway of rooms,” The worker explained as they walked down the long hallway, “There’s the nurses desk, An activity room and down the hallway to your left, here-, is the dining room where everyone comes to eat.” The lights were slightly too bright, with a strong smell of cleaning products lingering in the air.
Neil would be released soon. It would happen, whether Billy wanted it to or not. He was planning ahead, doing what he could to find somewhere for him to go. It couldn't be with him.
“It looks nice.” Kim whispered, speaking softly like she was unsure if she should share that information. She kept a tight grip on his hand, anchoring him close to her. He was thankful for that, feeling like she was the one that was keeping him moving.
“It does,” He agreed as they walked back towards the front, “He can move in here right away?” He asked, wincing at how forward that sounded. He didn’t want to sound like he was pushing Neil away, even though he was.
“Do you have the date he gets released?” The worker asked as Billy nodded his head, “We just need a way for him to get here.” He added a second later. He thought about it for a moment, deciding what the best option would be.
“I can pick him up.” He said softly, even though every bone in his body told him it was a bad idea. Kim began to rub her thumb into his skin, reassuring him softly. He figured she’d try to fight for a way to come with him, but he wouldn’t let her. No matter how much she pestered. It would be a bad idea.
The paperwork was intense, but he kept reminding himself it was worth it. Even if he felt like he was abandoning Neil. He really wasn’t. He wasn’t doing it out of hate or angry or even just to get back at him. He was simply doing it because it would be the best thing for all of them.
“I’d rather he not know the phone number,” Billy said at last, “There’s some-, dynamics at my house and I don’t want any issues to occur.” He replied as he stared at that line, wondering if he should mark it on the paper. He didn’t want Rosemary to accidentally answer. He couldn’t do that to her.
“We can do that.” The worker replied but his tone was clipped this time, almost as if he disapproved. But Billy didn’t care. He had no idea what Neil had put the rest of them through and he wouldn’t have him calling Rosemary to scream at her.
“What do you think?” She asked him once they were back in the car, safe away from any other judgements that might come forth from his decision. He sighed deeply as he rested his head back against the headrest, wishing there was an easy way to answer her.
“I don’t know,” He admitted, “I guess I’ll see how it goes.” He replied as she began to trace her fingernails over the top of his hand. She circled around his knuckles a few times, making him smile as he turned to look at her.
“I’ll come with you,” She reassured him, “Just in case.” She added, confirming what he already knew she would say. He wasn’t going to let her do it. Not if things went to shit, and he was sure that was what would happen.
“He's not going to hurt me,” He said softly, “Not anymore.” He told her, although he wished that was true. Maybe he couldn’t physically hit him anymore, but he still had his words. He wouldn’t stress about that just yet. He had to work tonight, that was more important.
He hadn’t been correct at all. At the first sight of the home Neil had flipped, then had fought the whole way going inside. He had felt awful, racked with guilt for weeks. The next time Billy visited him he hadn’t remembered that happening, nor did he remember how Billy got the small bruise on his jaw.
-
She kept reminding herself that college would be different, far different than what high school had been. She didn’t want to think so negatively about school, not when she was so excited about her future. But it sucked that she wouldn’t know anyone. And she was still scared that they would all know that she was an outcast.
“Hey.” The voice rose her from her thoughts, making her eyebrows relax as she took in the figure in front of her. She blinked in surprise, mouth parting as she stopped fussing with her fingers.
“Oh,” Kim sat up quickly, “Hi. Hey. You’re in this class too?” She asked hopefully, completely surprised as to why Steve would be in her same classes. He was supposed to be doing something else entirely from her.
“I thought teaching might be fun to do.” He shrugged his shoulders, looking quite unsure of himself as he dropped his bag and took the free spot next to her. She glanced around, thinking that there would be far too many of them in the classes. She hoped she wouldn’t have to speak in front of everyone.
“Oh that’s cool,” She grinned in excitement, “I’m glad I know someone. What made you decide to switch?” She asked curiously as she turned to face him, thinking about how Billy would grumble when he found this out later today.
“I decided that it wouldn’t be very fun,” He admitted with a chuckle, “And that I would suck at it.” He added, looking less enthused about that comment. She frowned, feeling bad that he had suffered so badly in school. In the complete opposite way in what she had.
“I doubt that,” She reassured him softly, “This will be so much fun.” She added a second later, trying to make the conversation pleasant once again. He nodded his head, pushing his fingers through his hair.
“I hope so,” He mumbled softly, “Although I won’t be doing any cool parties.” He scoffed as he shook his head, tumbling through his bag to grab his notebook. She watched him for a moment.
“I won’t either,” She said softly, eyes widening at the way his eyes met hers so quickly, “You know because I have a drinking problem.” The words tumbled off of her tongue before she could stop them, making her wince as she fought the urge to slam her head against her textbook.
“They’re lame anyways,” He shrugged his shoulders as he took control of the conversation, “You know what’s really cool? Jennifer can mumble words now. That’s pretty awesome.” He replied nonchalantly, making her a little relieved as she begged for her face to stop burning.
“She is very cool,” She agreed with him, thinking of how interested the little baby had been with her jewelry the last time she had seen her, “And cute.” She added a second later, picturing Jennifer’s round cheeks and big brown eyes.
“Robin is going to college here, you know.” He added a second later, a soft smirk forming on her lips. She pressed a soft grin against her lips, knowing where this was going. It happened every time Robin was brought up. She assumed he did it to make Billy irritated, but sometimes she couldn’t tell if he was teasing or not.
“And Billy and I are going to start looking at apartments.” She added a second later, watching the way Steve lifted up his pams innocently before he laughed.
“I just had to try.” He said the same thing that he always did. She shook her head, but was still flattered at how highly Robin thought of her. She just hoped that Robin could find someone that liked her just as much.
Kim ended up sharing more than one class with Steve, her whole entire schedule was the same as his in fact. They spent a lot of time back and forth, studying together with her flashcards while Billy and Gina got to talk freely to one another. It wasn’t at all fair, but she enjoyed the way their friendships continued to strengthen. She was lucky.
1987
“What about this place?” Billy pulled her aside, feigning the need to look out at the balcony again. It was nice, nicer than the other places they’d looked at recently. He linked their fingers together, enjoying how pretty she looked in the summer breeze. Her hair was long, well past the middle of her back. Her curls were loose but lively as they floated in the breeze.
“It’s not bad,” She agreed as she leaned against the railing, “Look how close it is to the ocean.” She pointed out in excitement, turning towards him gleefully as her lips curled into a bright smile. The sun was warm against her skin, kissing her pink freckles as her hazel eyes beamed in excitement.
Her first year of college had gone well and he was doing better than he expected at the restaurant. He had even been in talks about being sent to a trade school to get a higher position. In that time frame they’d both come to the agreement that it was time for them to find their own place. Rosemary and Sam were insistent that they could stay for as long as they wanted, but Billy really wanted his own privacy with Kim. He felt like it was time.
Tommy was doing well too, and had finally convinced Alma to go out with him. She had promised him one date, though Billy thought that she looked a little pleased with her answer. Steve and Gina were doing alright, even though Jennifer seemed to sprout overnight. They had moved out of their outrageously large house and settled into a smaller one. Gina didn’t seem pleased with it, but sometimes Billy wondered if that had to do with Robin moving out and joining them too. They now had a smaller, crowded house with many more people.
Jennifer’s first birthday had been fun despite all of that. She had eaten fistful after fistful of a Garfield shaped cake that Rosemary had made. She hadn’t yet fully mastered the art of walking yet, but she did talk and jabber about anything and everything. She referred to him as B and Kim as Immy.
The apartment complex was a simple beige, a yellow color that reminded him of the sand from the ocean. The palm trees outside were thick and strong, standing proud when they had driven into the gated community.
The kitchen was a little cramped but all of the appliances were up to date. He thought that the large windows in the dining room and living room made up for how crowded the other room might end up growing.
There were two bedrooms within the apartment. A smaller one that they had thought about turning into a sort of study, something that could hold his exercise equipment and her books and art supplies. The main bedroom was large that held a view towards the ocean, however, he thought his favorite part was the floor to ceiling mirrors that were attached on the doors.
The balcony they were resting on was comfortable and would have plenty of room to add their own little patio set if they desired. Billy also thought that Pearl would enjoy lounging out here as she had recently taken to sitting out and tanning in the warm sun.
“Look at how close it is to our parents,” He told her as he pointed a few streets over right at where Rosemary and Sam’s house sat, “We’re practically neighbors.” He teased her softly, thinking about how Russell would probably enjoy the pool access that they’d be granted.
“You say it like it’s a bad thing.” She smiled as she turned towards him, her lips gentle and smooth as her eyes melted across his features. He could feel his heart thumping roughly underneath his skin. He was still fairly certain that she was oblivious to how he felt.
“They’ll never leave us alone,” He teased her softly, “Russell will probably try and use the spare room.” He smiled as he linked their fingers together. It really wasn’t a bad thing. Things, for the most part, were good. They had just recently celebrated Rosemary and Sam’s anniversary, Russell had started high school and Max had gained a pet snake back in Hawkins.
The only part that had recently grown difficult was Neil. He was still in the same retirement home, though his health just seemed to grow worse and worse. Some days were better, but Billy hated to visit him the majority of the time. He also hated how he felt. It always sent him into a fresh wave of guilt.
“He’ll have to share it with Pearl,” She teased him as she leaned against his shoulder, “I think I really like this place.” She mused softly, looking deep in thought as she continued to stare out towards the distance. He watched her softly, feeling like they had an answer for the person who was waiting for them.
“I do too,” He mumbled in agreement, “It’s nice.” He said with a nod of his head, feeling like things were going too well to be true. The last year had been blissful, nice. He felt like he couldn’t fall in love with her anymore, but found that to be untrue with each day that passed.
“Should we tell him that we’ll take it then?” She asked him curiously as she sat up a little bit. He watched her, nodding his head as he looked off towards the distance. It would be odd to move out, maybe a little hard but it would be worth it. They couldn’t stay there forever, even though he was certain that their parents would let them.
“Yeah,” He said as he nodded his head, fixing his posture as he tapped his fingers against the balcony, “Let’s go get our first house then.” He said, enjoying the way the excitement grew across her features.
Packing hadn’t taken too long, although Russell had a bad habit of coming in and pulling things out of boxes. He was the most upset about them leaving, even though they were only a few streets away. It took a lot of pouting before he finally stopped and accepted their fate, on the promise that Billy would pick him up from school whenever he could.
“Look,” Kim grinned proudly as she held up the old hoodie, “It’s still in good shape.” She said as she held it up against her skin. She smiled as she looked at her, her eyes filled with fondness as she thought about the memory.
“Please put that away,” Billy groaned, “It probably stinks.” He said honestly, wondering how he had ever fit into it in the first place. It would be much too tiny for him now.
“It does not stink,” She protested as she held it to her chest, “It’s important to me.” She said sternly as she nodded her head, taking gentle care as she wrapped it up and put it with the rest of her clothes in the box. Moving day. A big day for all of them.
They had already bought new furniture for the apartment, including a large mattress that he was more than excited to break in. Certain things they were leaving behind, things that they wouldn’t need. Kim’s stuffed animals had been the first thing to be packed up, of course.
The house seemed like it would be too big, to empty once the two of them left. But he supposed that wouldn’t be exactly true. Rosemary and Sam had been discussing fostering for the past year. He wondered if they’d do that now that they had the extra space.
It was easier to pack everything into Rosemary’s truck, so that’s what they did. He lingered for a moment as he buckled into his own car, checking in the rearview mirror to confirm that Kim was getting along well in hers. It felt odd to leave this house, bittersweet. He’d miss it, even though he hadn’t lived there long.
“The pool will be fun,” Sam commented as he nodded his head, resting his hands on his hips as he looked around again, “You could put a little pot out here, grow strawberries or something.” He said as he looked out the patio.
“You think so?” Kim asked as she followed him outside, her eyes flashing with interest as her plan for what would be on the patio changed once again. Billy watched with a smile, setting another box aside as Pearl drifted between his ankles.
“You know if you ever need us, we’re just a quick trip away.” Rosemary said quickly, smiling as she continued to fill the fridge. Her housewarming gift had been groceries, which Billy really appreciated. He wanted to do nothing after getting moved into the apartment.
“I know, mom,” Billy laughed at her, “We’re not disappearing forever.” He promised her, pulling her close to give her a soft hug. She leaned against him, smiling as she nodded her head in agreement. Things were better between them, between all of them.
“It’s not that,” Rosemary sighed softly, “I was just getting used to all of us being together.” She admitted, frowning a little bit as she patted her fingers against his wrists. She looked lost in thought for a moment, making him feel bad.
“We are together,” Billy nodded his head in agreement, “We’re exactly three streets over. We can’t get any closer.” He promised her, smiling to himself as he thought about how normal they’d be. At one point he was sure that he would never visit either of his parents once he was grown enough. He never thought he’d be here, that he’d be happy.
“You’ll still visit?” She asked, looking at him seriously. He thought about Russell, knowing that he had promised all of that and more.
“We can have dinner or lunch every weekend,” He promised, “Just let us know what works best for you.” He said with a nod of his head, but figured that they’d drop in more than that when they needed too. Especially if they ended up tight on money. Or if they needed their clothes washed.
“Anything works well with me,” Rosemary laughed, “I’m so happy for the two of you.” She said, smiling brightly as she took Kim’s hands once she entered again.
“Thank you,” Kim responded gently, “We’re very excited.” She said honestly as she glanced back towards him, making his heart hammer once again. It would be weird to live somewhere and it would just be the two of them. They wouldn’t have to sneak around, wouldn’t have to care about what anyone else thought. They could have their own rules, their own home. He was ecstatic to start their lives together.
Once Sam and Rosemary were gone and everything was mainly put away, they rested on the floor, right near the patio as the sun dipped down behind the palm trees. His eyes were shut as he enjoyed the warm breeze, the way the sun seeped in through his skin.
“Can you believe it?” Kim questioned him, breaking the silence they’d been laying in, “Our first night in our own place.” She sighed deeply as he opened his eyes, turning to look at her. The sun hit her at the right angle, brightening her features and giving her a pink glow.
“You’re really excited.” He said at last, looking at how wide her grin was. She turned on her side to face him a little better, resting her cheek against her knuckles as she nodded her head.
“I am,” She giggled, “Aren’t you?” She asked him quickly, looking nervous like she was expecting him to suggest something different.
“I guess,” He said with a shrug of his shoulders, “I’m just fucking with you. I’m really excited.” He told her, grinning at the way her features turned into excitement again. She moved towards him, crawling over his lap to straddle him. He grinned as he rubbed his palms across her waist, his eyes wandering over her exposed cleavage.
“No more sneaking around,” She said slowly, grinning as she rubbed her fingers across his exposed chest, “We can do it wherever we want.” She told him in excitement, thinking about how fun that would be for them.
“Do it?” He teased her, tilting his head like he was trying to draw the words out from her. She paused for a moment, biting her bottom lip as she nodded her head slowly.
“Fuck,” She said a little shyly as she looked up at him, “Like right here. And we don’t have to worry about anyone walking in.” She whispered softly as she continued to trace her fingers across his warm chest.
“So are you all talk or what?” He asked as he looked up at her smugly, cocking his eyebrow up at her. She smirked softly as she held her hands against his chest, keeping herself balanced for a moment as she began to grind against his hard cock. She gasped softly, enjoying the feel of his bulge against her pussy.
She slid against his abdomen for a moment, taking a second to pull her leg to the side so she could slide out of her shorts and panties. She pressed a palm across his bulge, giggling at the way he felt underneath her.
“Fuck,” He huffed softly, licking his bottom lip as he watched her with intense blue eyes, “C’mon. Don’t tease me.” He replied as he took his own lead by shifting his shorts off of his hips. She giggled, admiring the way his hard cock rested against his abdomen before she straddled his lap once again.
“So needy,” She teased, giving his thick cock a quick stroke before she dragged his leaking tip against her folds. She sighed softly as she slid him inside of her, gasping at the way she adjusted easily around him, “Oh.” She hummed softly, closing her eyes as his hands fell to her hips.
He gripped her tightly, taking some tension off of her knees as he began to rock her up and down the length of his cock. She breathed out, enjoying the sensation of his dick throbbing against her walls as she gripped his chest.
She moved with ease, crying out in bliss as the warm sunshine hit her back. It all felt good, too good. She wished she could stay like this forever, with him deep inside of her. It just felt right, like he was a missing piece.
“Mhm, God,” She whined as she continued to rock her hips slowly, whining loudly as she shut her eyes for a moment. She wouldn’t ever get over the pleasure that he was able to bring her, “You feel so good, Billy. So big.” She whined as she felt him sliding deeper into her with each inhale.
He chuckled softly, his dark eyebrows knitting together as he kept the tight grip on her slender waist. He gripped her in place as he began to rut into her, sighing deeply as his lips parted in pleasure. He was prettier than anything she’d ever seen before. So handsome.
He brought his hand up to her face, gripping her chin softly before he slid two of his fingers inside of her mouth. She accepted them greedily, licking and sucking at his digits as he continued to grind his cock up against her soft walls. She drooled around his fingers, letting her spit slide down her chin and onto his chest as she continued to bounce against his cock.
It became frantic as her clit began to throb, her walls aching as the pleasure spread deep within her. It was like she had been electrocuted. She whined, pleading messily as she gripped his wrist. He hummed in appreciation, pulling his fingers free as he sat up just a bit.
She bent forward, drooling against his mouth and chin before she dragged her lips against his. Her moans became muffled as she continued to move, roughly grinding herself down against him as his tongue flicked against hers.
He grunted against her mouth, his movements becoming deeper as his balls smacked against her ass. She squealed at the sensation, whining loudly as he roughly palmed at her hips. Her body began to shake as the pleasure filled her once again, twisting and turning roughly as chills spread through her body.
“Oh, oh!” She whimpered, still gripping onto him tightly as she fell forward. She cried out, her walls clamping down around his throbbing cock as she came with a loud moan, “Jesus, Billy.” She praised him, sighing as her clit throbbed from her orgasm.
“Feels good, yeah?” He hummed, smirking from ear to ear as he continued to rock her hips down against his cock. He rutted into her deeply, making her see stars as he hit the sponge spot within her. She licked at her bottom lip, sweat forming on the back of her neck.
“So good,” She whined as she laid her head down against his, “wanna feel you cum, baby.” She gasped, closing her eyes as his grip became tighter on her. She shook once again, gaping as his thrusts became even deeper.
He grunted loudly, deep from within his chest as he held her down hard against his cock. He throbbed inside of her, cumming roughly as he painted her walls white with his spunk. She gasped, breathing in deeply as she held onto him.
They were silent for a moment, both of them sharing the same deep labored breaths as he rubbed at her thighs. She giggled softly, rubbing her nails across his warm chest. He felt so nice against her.
“I can get used to this.” He teased at last, making her smile as he squeezed at her thighs. She could too.

“Oh you’re so handsome,” Kim grinned as she adjusted the white jacket on Billy’s shoulders, “My sexy little chef.” She said as she smoothed the material over his shoulders, making him shake his head. He hated this outfit. It was humiliating.
“Please don’t call me that again.” He said, groaning softly as he shook his head. He felt ridiculous. This was worse than being sent off to school for the first time. She’d taken so many pictures that it almost felt that way.
“It’s so true,” She giggled as she kissed his cheek, “You’re going to have the best time.” She told him seriously, making him shake his head as she continued to fret over him.
“I don’t know about that.” He told her, feeling a little dumb with how nervous he suddenly felt. He had sat outside the patio that morning, smoking cigarette after cigarette as his stomach twisted up into nerves. He felt like he’d been out of school for too long. Then again, this wasn’t technically college courses either.
“You will,” She reassured him, “You’re going to outcook everyone there.” She said with a promise, giggling as she placed the hat on top of his head once again. He groaned before he yanked it off, wishing he could toss it in the trash. She would never let him live this down.

Steve and Gina got married that winter, a rather large reception. His parents came, but hers didn’t. Tommy walked her down the aisle instead and Alma’s little sister, Dana, got the honors of holding Jennifer’s hand and assisting in throwing flower petals.
Kim was happy that she got offered the role of maid of honor. But she was nervous. She didn’t realize that the two of them knew so many people. And it was fancy, elegant. She’d never spent so much money on a dress before. There had been more than one meltdown over it before she was eventually fine, but she still felt like she stuck out like a sore thumb. She was grateful that her friends had such different weddings, for she finally had some idea of what she wanted out of hers.
Gina looked amazing, of course. Her dress was large, huge. The same one that she swore she saw in all of the popular, trending magazines. Her hair was permed and just as large, eyes wide with the satisfaction of how the day had gone.
“You know, you have such a sharp mind,” Steve’s father spoke, sipping on a strong cup of whiskey as she wrapped her arms tightly around her chest. She was definitely outside of her element as she waited for Billy to come back with their special drinks, “It’s a shame you’re wasting it on being a teacher.”
“Oh,” She looked up at him in surprise. It was no doubt that Steve got all of his looks from his father. The both looked the exact same, just one was about thirty years older, “I like teaching. And kids.” She nodded her head as she pulled a gentle smile onto her lips.
“You could work for me,” He said as he leaned against his elbow, stretching his long legs out as he backed her into the little corner behind the table she had been hiding behind, “I’m always in dire need of a new assistant.” He told her, teeth flashing as she felt her eyes suddenly grow wide. She stammered for a moment, trying to find a way out of this awkward conversation and fast.
“Mr. Harrington,” Tommy smiled tightly, coming to her rescue as he slinked an arm around her waist, “Mind if I borrow her for a moment?” He asked, already dragging her away before he could protest. She glanced over her shoulder, then back towards Tommy before she whispered.
“I think he was hitting on me.”
“He was,” He laughed as he shook his head, like it wasn’t uncommon at all, “It’s why his wife usually isn’t far away from him. Looks like he saw a chance to escape and took it.” He replied as he pulled them to the busier part of the reception party. She looked around, spotting what had kept Billy.
He had Jennifer in his arms, his lips pulled into a wide grin as he bounced her in his arms to the song that was blaring through the room. She grinned, thinking about how good of a dad he’d be one day.
“He offered me a job,” She replied a minute later as she wrinkled his nose up, “I’m assuming it’s less of a job and more of a way-,”
“To screw you,” Tommy nodded along as he lit up a cigarette, “He’s offering you a deal of a lifetime. To be a prostitute without the title.” He laughed, shaking his head as she looked back over her shoulder awkwardly. No wonder Steve had no issue being apart from his father.
“Your parents didn’t want to come?” She asked him softly, watching the way his features tightened for a moment. Perhaps they were all friends because of their shared history of shitty parents.
“They would’ve ruined the party anyways,” He hummed as he took another long drag, “Besides, we don’t need them.” He shrugged his shoulders, leaving it at that. She gave his bicep a reassuring squeeze, understanding completely.

Steve and Gina took their honeymoon to Australia, which left Kim and Billy in charge of Jennifer for the week. Robin and Tommy were apparently not the most trustworthy. On busy days when they worked or had school, Rosemary watched her at the bakery.
“Again,” Jennifer demanded, laying in between the two of them as Billy finished the same Strawberry Shortcake book that he’d already read to her three times. Kim had done it twice before she had taken to trying to rock Jennifer, like she might sleep better that way, “Now.”
“Not with that attitude,” He grumbled right back, “What’s the magic word?” He asked her seriously as he furrowed his eyebrows together. They held eye contact for the longest time before she caved first.
“Pwease, B!” Jennifer begged as she gripped his arm, “Mowe Bewwy!” She pleaded with him, shaking his arm as he felt his body move along awkwardly in exhaustion. He wasn’t sure if he could stand much more of Strawberry.
“Yeah, more Berry!” Kim shouted along, grinning as the little girl began to nod her head frantically. She sat up again, moving from her spot in Kim’s arms as she began to bounce lightly on the bed as little giggles left her mouth.
“You’re asking for it, Red,” He grumbled as he flipped the book back to his starting point, “You should be reading. You’re the redhead.” He reminded her, pointing a finger at her before he opened the book. He didn’t want to actually make Jennifer mad.
“What’s that got to do with anything?” She asked him, laughing as she rested her hand on her cheek. He grumbled as he flipped to the first page.
“Yeah!” Jennifer’s little voice rang out, agreeing with whatever Kim had to say.
“Hey,” He glanced down towards Jennifer, “You hush it or I’ll read to you about monsters and spiders.” He threatened playfully, knowing that he really wouldn’t do that. Unless he would be dropping her back home right away. Better to do it and then not have to deal with it. He would not be punishing himself.
“Oh,” Her little eyes widened as she stared up in horror, “Oh no, no.” She shook her head as her movements on the bed came to a stop. She pulled her thumb into her mouth a second later, distracting herself as she began to look around.
“That’s what I thought,” He mumbled as he opened his arm so he could let her curl up against him. Pearl shifted, sprawling herself out across Jennifer’s little lap, “Now close your eyes and listen.” He demanded of her, pulling her thumb out for a quick second so she could answer.
“Okay,” She giggled as she shut her eyes tightly, forcing them shut. He sighed and shook his head, “Go!” She whined softly, kicking her little feet before Kim covered her up once again. Billy said a silent prayer in his mind, hoping that this time it would make her go to sleep.
Billy had no idea how Gina managed to handle Jennifer all day long, all the time. She was a handful. Two handfuls. Constantly getting into everything and having a break down over the smallest things. He loved the little girl dearly, but he was very thankful he did not have any kids yet.
“Hewe,” Jennifer brought him the little toy phone machine again, eyes wide as she passed it to him, “Fow you.” She was getting better at waddling, but she still tumbled and fell quite a bit.
“Who is it?” He asked curiously, playing along as he took the phone from her. He held it against his ear, pretending to listen for a moment as he pressed his lips together.
“Bad guy.” She said as she wrinkled her nose up, frowning like it meant trouble. He supposed that Kim was a bit better at playtime than he was, as she had more of an imagination. But he tried.
“Shit,” He cursed, grinning at the way she covered her mouth and giggled. He probably wasn’t supposed to say such words in front of her, but he thought it was funny when she repeated them back, “What the hell do you want?”
“Billy!” Kim stuck her head out from the kitchen, hair pulled back as she worked on the lasagna she was making for them, “What are you saying to her?” She asked with a laugh, her eyes wide as she shook her head in disbelief.
“I’m talking to a bad guy on the phone, thank you very much,” He sassed her back, shaking his head as he looked at Jennifer, “Some people.” He huffed,  chuckling as she giggled and took the phone back once again.
Pearl kept a safe distance away from the toddler, only having her tail pulled once before she realized the danger. However, that only made Jennifer mad. She really, really wanted to pet the kitty.
“She does not like to sleep.” Kim hummed once they had finished dinner. He’d cleaned all the dishes while she had helped Jennifer with a bath, which had ended up in a rather large splash fight. She was rocking her in the La-Z-Boy, trying to get her to sleep after Billy had tried with the bottle.
“She does not.” He agreed as he shook his head, taking in his few minutes of freedom before they switched again. At least he had a good idea of how the future would go.
“No magic tricks now?” She teased him as Jennifer began to stir once again. She winced before she began to bounce her a little quicker, but it was no avail. Jennifer wiggled free, crawling over the shoulder of the recliner.
“I guess not,” He grumbled as Jennifer flopped back onto his lap, making Pearl flee from her spot next to him, “I guess we just have to deal with you.” He responded as he tickled at her, earning a chorus of giggles from her lips.
“Rosemary doesn’t ever say anything?” Kim asked as she pulled her legs up towards her chest, looking down thoughtfully like she was trying to find a solution.
“No,” He chuckled, “Other than she hid herself in the pantry doors and they couldn’t find her for like ten minutes.” He smiled as he let the toddler sit back up, watching as she crawled back towards Kim. Just full of energy.
“Scary,” Kim smiled, wrinkling up her nose as Jennifer started to press on her nose, “Honk, honk!” She teased, sending the little girl into a burst of giggles once again. He smiled as he watched them.
Jennifer eventually passed out, right around midnight. Kim carried her back to the room, holding onto her softly before they crawled into the bed. Billy would be glad when they could get their own bed back. She refused to sleep on her own.
“It’s kind of nice,” Kim hummed softly, whispering with her eyes shut, “Like practice for us.” She added a second later as Jennifer’s soft sleep sounds filled the room. He grinned.
“Are you thinking about a baby now?” He asked as he turned to face her, watching the shy smile that formed on her lips.
“A bit,” She admitted slowly, “You’d be a good daddy. It’s hard not to think about.” She told him softly, making his heart soar. To him, that was one of the highest compliments. He didn’t want to be like his father.
“And you’d be a good mom,” He replied as he gestured towards how Jennifer had snuggled up towards her. He supposed he’d take the late nights in comparison to her crying for her parents. At least she was comfortable enough around them, “Maybe once you graduate.”
“Works for me,” She giggled softly as she rested her head against the pillow, “I told Rosemary I'd go in early to help.” She whispered as she scrunched her nose up, making him sigh deeply. He knew what that meant. He’d have to handle Jennifer on his own for most of the day tomorrow.
“What time does their plane get back again?” He asked her, wrinkling his lips up as Jennifer turned and pressed her cold feet against him. He sighed as he slowly moved them back down.
“About two,” She said with a nod of her head, “You’ve got this. You can come to the bakery if it gets bad.” She told him quickly but he shook his head. He would be fine. He just needed coffee. Lots of it.
Jennifer was awake and stirring as soon as Kim got up that morning to head to work. She wobbled around, following her like a little duckling as Billy got up far earlier than what he wanted to. Usually he’d pull Kim back into bed for a few minutes, but it wasn’t happening today.
Five in the morning. He’d need more than coffee.
“Have a good day,” He hummed as he gave Kim a quick kiss on the cheek, then on her lips, “I’ll see you soon.” He pressed his forehead against hers for a moment, enjoying her soft smile as she held onto her lunch bag for the day.
“Love you,” She told him softly, “And I’ll see you again soon. Tell your mommy and daddy I said hi.” She commented as she gave Jennifer a tight hug. Jennifer giggled, too preoccupied with the dolly in her hand and the pacifier in her mouth to pay much attention.
Billy had hoped that by mid morning after she had been changed, fed and played with that she would be tired. At least for a little nap. But he did not win that fight. She was wild, unruly as she wobbled through the apartment and destroyed everything in her path. Their place was certainly not large enough for a toddler.
“Your child,” Billy greeted Steve and Gina as soon as they knocked at the door, holding her like an airplane as he quickly dropped her into their arms, “Her bags. Goodbye.” He told them, ignoring their surprised faces before he shut the door. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, getting his nerves to calm before he opened it again.
“I told you, you weren’t ready for a kid yet.” Gina said smugly, making him roll his eyes.
1988
Pearl had been acting strange the past few weeks. She’d disappear, hiding in the room for long hours and ignoring the both of them. Kim was worried, constantly fretting over her as she was sure something was wrong health wise. She’d scheduled an appointment, but no vets nearby were able to get her in recently.
“Kim,” She paused as Billy’s voice rang out from their room, “Uh, can you come here for a moment?” She stopped, setting down her papers from the lesson plan she’d been trying to figure out. She stood from the floor, walking towards their comfortable room.
“What is she doing?” She asked in confusion, looking at the way Pearl was bunched up into some white sheets on the floor. She was breathing hard, making little noises that left Kim worried as she knelt next to her.
“I think there’s a reason she got fat,” Billy grumbled, “And it has nothing to do with overeating.” He said as he turned towards her, a look of irritation in his eyes. She blinked in confusion, wondering why he seemed so annoyed when she didn’t look to be doing well. She looked at Pearl again, getting a better look as the truth came to her.
“She’s having babies!” She said, feeling a squeal leave her lips as she stared down at Pearl in awe. She gently caressed her cheek, wondering if they needed to find a cat hospital to bring her too. She wondered if there would be one in the phone book.
“Yeah, on my chef uniform.” He whined, looking frustrated as he gestured towards her once again. Kim pressed her lips together, slowly understanding why he wasn’t the happiest at the moment.
“I’m sorry,” Kim grinned up towards him, “It must be comfortable for her.” She said quickly, sure that Pearl picked that outfit out for a reason. It must show just how highly she thought of Billy.
Pearl ended up with six little kitties. They took them all to the vet, getting Pearl spayed and getting various check ups on the other ones. She had five boys and one girl. All of them were similar to Pearl, with bright white fur and little gray splotches throughout.
The six kittens were divided up. They kept one, the little female. Rosemary and Sam took one, Steve and Gina took one for Jennifer, Alma took one and the other two were sold to their Italian neighbor who wanted to give them to his two granddaughters when he eventually returned back home.
Russell had whined about it at first but it was quickly clear that he had found a new best friend. He named his kitten Megatron and he was calm, then soon became fat and lazy.
They decided on Dove for their kitten. She looked similar to how Pearl did, except she was more white than anything. Both of her eyes were also a solid blue and seemed to twinkle with the same amount of mischief that Pearl had.
Pearl kept her close, constantly keeping her snuggled up to her and lots of licks. Kim was excited when Max came as she’d get to meet the new addition to their little family. It was really thrilling. Although her and Billy were quick to decide that their household needed no more little kittens. No matter how cute they were.
Their wedding was officially in the works, to be put together by next year. Kim was nervous, but very happy at the same time. When Addi had visited the past week they had taken a trip to a wedding store, just to try on some dresses for fun. She couldn’t wait to really find her dress.
“I think we could certainly get this all together,” The priest spoke, leading them both to the end of the church, “We’d just need a few official documents. Such as baptisms and things in that manner.” Kim continued to look around, a little overwhelmed with how the whole thing was set up. It seemed like far too many people could fit into the pews.
“Baptisms?” She piped up curiously for the first time that they’d been here. Billy had asked most of the questions and she’d just gone along with it. The priest had a look in his eye that made her feel like she wasn’t welcomed, like he just knew that she hadn’t ever really gone to church before.
“We do not marry anyone unless they are baptized,” The priest nodded his head, “I’m assuming you both are?” He asked again, raising his eyebrows as he held eye contact with her. She parted her lips, turning to Billy for help. “Yeah,” Billy muttered, “I’d just have to find the document.” He nodded his head, then looked towards her expectantly. She blinked slowly, realizing that he didn’t understand her dilemma.
“Um,” Kim bit her lip, her face burning brightly suddenly, “I don’t recall if I’ve ever been baptized.” She said slowly, knowing for a fact that she hadn’t been. If she had been, she was sure that the documents were long gone.
“I suppose that will be an issue.” The priest turned towards Billy, making a judgemental face as he began to turn away. She shuffled around awkwardly.
“No issue,” Billy shook his head quickly, “Why don’t we just baptize her and get it over with?” He said with a smile, holding his hands on his hips like it was that easy. She shrugged, feeling like it was an easy solution. She’d get baptized for Billy.
“My dear,” The priest turned towards Kim again, “Have you ever been to a church service?” He tilted his head, looking rather stern. He reminded her of some of the mean teachers she’d had in the past.
“Yes,” She flushed, “Just not recently.” She said with a nod of her head, if she had to she was sure that she could cite Jennifer’s baptism as her last church experience. That certainly counted.
“I see,” The priest nodded his head quickly, “We can consider it.” He said shortly, sounding like he didn’t really seem convinced with the whole thing. She turned towards Billy once again, feeling really bad suddenly.
“You’d be available by next summer?” He continued to speak calmly, like he wasn’t worried about it at all. She took in a deep breath, trying to remind herself that it wouldn’t be the end of the world if this church didn’t want them. They could find another.
“If the church agrees with it,” The priest nodded, “We could do it as early as the end of May.” He agreed at last. She felt her eyes widen as she shook her head, protesting as she glanced towards Billy once again.
“Oh not then,” Kim laughed as she shook her head, “We already have a date set in June. The end of May is when the next Indiana Jones movie comes out.” She nodded her head along, thinking about how they had picked that date out specifically. The priest stared for a moment, faltering from her suggestion.
“My dear soon to be wife,” Billy grinned tight as he pulled her close, giving her shoulders a soft squeeze, “She likes to tease. But we do have June planned for the wedding.” She smiled her biggest, trying to act like she wasn’t dying on the inside. She should’ve stuck to the plan and let Billy do all the speaking.
“That would work I suppose,” The priest nodded as he continued to stare at Kim, “I will discuss it and think about it.” He said slowly, like he was assessing if she was worth dealing with. She let her shoulders sag as she turned away, giving BIlly a tight lipped smile. It was all her fault.
The walk of shame back to the car was humiliating, frustrating. She let her feet drag against the pavement of the parking lot, sighing deeply before she plopped herself into the Camaro dramatically.
“Great,” Kim mumbled, “They’re never going to accept me.” She twisted her fingers together, wishing that her tongue didn’t move so often. She didn’t understand how she somehow made things worse each time.
“Don’t say that,” He said with a shake of his head, “They will. Trust me.” He reached over to squeeze at her knee, giving her a reassuring touch as she thought over how she needed to prepare her words better.
“Okay,” She said as she hugged onto him, “Should I look into being baptized? Or maybe we should attend some services for a while?” She began to ramble off of her suggestions, trying to think of how she could make herself appear better to the priest. To the church. It was all odd to her.
“Stop,” He told her softly as he held his hand up to stop her, “I’m perfectly fine with how you are now. We don’t need to pretend any.” His words made her heart thump roughly inside of her chest, a warm feeling spreading through her.
“Okay,” She sighed as she leaned back in her chair, “I just want to find the best place.” She told him truthfully. If he wanted to get married in a church, then that’s what they would do.
“It’s wherever you are,” He said as he touched her chin gently, gripping her softly, “We could get married in the bakery and it would be perfect.” He smiled as he leaned forward to touch his nose against hers, giving her a soft reassurance.
“You’re right,” She said softly as she leaned against him, “Thank you.” She smiled as she linked their fingers together, glad that she had him to comfort her. She appreciated him more than what he knew.
“Mhm,” He hummed as he pecked her lips softly, “Just thought I should remind you how great I am.” She laughed as he pulled away with a wink. She hadn’t forgotten about that in the slightest.
-
“Hey,” Gina smiled as she slid Jennifer onto the ground, who made a B-line to Billy, “You’ll never guess what I found out at my appointment.” Jennifer bounced, giggling harshly as Billy tapped the top of her head playfully.
“What?” He asked with a smile, only hearing half of what she had said as Jennifer began to babble away. He couldn’t believe how big she was getting. She looked cute in her bright little outfit, with her hair pulled into little pigtails.
“I’m pregnant.” Gina announced with a tight smile, her right eye twitching as Billy turned to meet her eye. He stalled for a second, unsure of what to say to her. Pregnancy had been a touchy subject for her, so touchy that he had been sure that she didn’t want anymore kids.
“Oh, oh!” Kim paused for a moment, “That’s great. Oh, congrats. That’s great news. Oh wow!” She held her hands out, playing the excited role fairly well as she went to give Gina a reassuring squeeze. She was having none of it.
“How cool,” Billy commented, smiling as Jennifer crawled into his arms, “You’re going to be a big sister?” He asked her, watching the way she smiled brightly to show off the front tooth she was missing.
“Yesh,” She said with a nod of her head, giggling as he began to tickle her, “Hey!” She squeaked out, holding her elbows into her ribs to try and squeeze his fingers away from her skin.
“Hay is for horses, silly goose,” He teased her as he held her in his arms, “How did Steve react?” He hummed as he continued to bounce the little girl in her arms, chuckling at how her squeals grew louder.
“He doesn’t know yet.” Gina said at last, her brown eyes glazing over as the room suddenly grew tense. Kim stared, like she wasn’t sure what to say. It felt odd. Gina didn’t seem to be very happy.
“Oh,” Billy paused, “Huh.” He said as he furrowed his eyebrows, nodding as he tried to think of a way to comfort her. He wasn’t sure if there was. She had gone through a lot.
“You two are the first two to know,” Gina said with a hysterical laugh, “This is just great.” She held her palms out dramatically, sniffling as she shook her head.
“It’s going to be fine,” Kim reassured as she touched her shoulders gently, “You’ll have so much help this time. We’ll be close by, Robin and Tommy live there too. It will all be fine.” She tried to be reassuring, but all Gina did was cry. She sounded like she was broken.
“Mama sad?” Jennifer asked sadly, pouting out her little lips. He watched, unsure if it was better to lie to her or admit to the truth. He was glad that he didn’t have any kids.
“S’alright,” Billy reassured her, deciding to give Kim and her some space, “How about we get a popsicle, how does that sound?”
“Yummy,” She giggled as she wobbly stood, then gripped his hand as they walked towards the kitchen, “Puwple please.”
“Purple for my little purple monster.” He grinned as he picked her up, wrapping the popsicle in a paper towel so her fingers wouldn’t get cold. She had only needed to remind him of that once before he had it memorized. She got quite shrill if people didn’t remember what she wanted.
He watched carefully as she munched on it, going back and forth between handing him her little doll and trying to pet the cats. Dove was more appreciative of the little toddler pats, meanwhile Pearl sat perched high above with her tail swinging back and forth. Like she was toying with her.
He glanced over, taking in Kim’s somber expression as she continued to speak with Gina. He hoped she had some reassurances for their friend, because he had none. He understood she went through a difficult time, but figured that she would’ve been excited to have another baby. He knew that Steve would be without asking him.
“Here,” He brought the damp napkin over, trading it for the sticky popsicle wrapper before he began the difficult task of wiping Jennifer’s face clean. She wrinkled her features up in distaste, whining and squirming until he finally finished wiping her mouth up, “What, you wanna be all sticky?” He asked her, observing the way her big brown eyes narrowed at him. Definitely a look she got from her mother.
“Yesh,” She answered in a matter of fact way, holding her little hands on her waist. A trait from Steve, “Pony ride.” She demanded a second later, making him sigh in defeat as he grasped at his punishment. His bad for speaking up.
“What was that about?” He questioned Kim once the other two were gone. He rubbed at the back of his head, his scalp a little sore from how roughly Jennifer had tugged on it. “She’s scared she’s going to have another bad labor,” She paused softly, “I don’t think she wanted another baby.” She added a second later, looking a little worried as she joined him on the couch. Dove followed a second later, curling up on his lap.
“Doesn’t Steve want like, seven?” He asked her seriously, petting the cat’s tail for just a second before he got swatted at. Pearl jumped up a second later, hissing before she settled against him. He chuckled.
“Six,” She corrected, probably because she had to hear it all the time through their shared classes, “But yeah. I guess they didn’t really talk about it.” She rubbed the back of her neck, wincing like she didn’t know what they were supposed to do.
“That’s a shame,” He said, “I mean for them.” He added a second later, feeling pretty grateful that they were so open with one another. But it did make him wonder what they would’ve been like if she had gotten knocked up so early. Probably not very good.
“I need to start on some booties for the new baby,” She hummed a second later, “But then I’ll probably have to make Jennifer something too.” She replied thoughtfully as she furrowed her eyebrows together.
“Yeah,” Billy snorted as he thought about it, “God help them when Jennifer realizes she has to share the attention.” He told her honestly, thinking that she wouldn’t be so excited to be an older sibling then. At least that wouldn’t be his issue to deal with.
1989
“Wait,” Kim paused, “Try this flavor again.” She said as she held the fork out towards him, grinning as she waited for him to take a bite. Billy furrowed his eyebrows as he looked at the cake on her fork again.
“Tastes like vanilla with strawberry frosting,” Billy laughed, “Is that what you want?” He looked at her curiously, sitting back in his seat as he shook his head. He still wasn’t crazy about cake, but insisted that they needed it for their wedding because it was stereotypical.
“I don’t know,” Kim grumbled as she shrugged her shoulders, “It all tastes so good.” She said honestly as she took another bite, moaning as the icing melted in her mouth. Billy laughed as he ate around the icing.
“You know I can make different cake flavors,” Rosemary added as she bustled back into the room. They had recently been fostering two twin boys that were about ten. They were sweet, a handful but sweet, “What about vanilla icing and three different flavors?” She listed off, holding her hands on her hips.
“That’s fine with me,” Billy added, “I liked just the vanilla.” He said honestly as he rested his chin on his knuckles. Kim thought about it for a moment as she nodded her head in agreement. Three different flavors sounded good to her.
“I liked the strawberry one,” She said as she turned towards Billy, thinking for a moment, “Maybe chocolate on the top? The smaller part of the cake.” She said as she explained her thought process, hoping they’d both be alright with that.
“I can do that for sure,” Rosemary said brightly as she sat down across from them, “I’m so excited for you two. This is going to be so fun.” She kept tossing back different ideas with them and even though Billy insisted it wasn’t going to be a big wedding, she wanted to make a rather large cake.
“I know,” Kim said as she tucked her hair behind her ear, smiling brightly, “I can’t wait either.” She grinned from ear to ear, delight spreading on her cute features as he shook his head. As the stress from planning it grew, the more he wished they had just eloped like her friend had.
“Did you decide on the dress yet?” Rosemary asked as she held her hands up to her chin, grinning brightly as she thought about it. She had gone to most of Kim’s fittings, along with Gina. Max had gone to one when she had visited last, but Kim still hadn’t picked one out.
“No,” She said as she glanced towards Billy, making sure that he wasn’t listening too intensely, “I think I need to go to another store again. You’re always welcome to come, I’ll tell you when?”
“I would love that,” Rosemary said excitedly, “Only a few more months. This is great.” She nodded her head as she glanced over her shoulder, listening for a moment before Russell came trudging out of his room. His hair was messy, the lines on his face leftover from where he had just woken up. His entrance into his teen years had left him scrawny and lankier, standing nearly at Sam’s height now.
“Morning.” Billy grinned, referencing that it was already fairly late into the afternoon. Russell rolled as he dragged his feet into the kitchen, his pajama pants resting too high above his ankles as he forced the fridge door open. He ate like a machine now, his stomach apparently never satisfied.
“Mhm.” Came Russell’s enthusiastic response. Rosemary shook her head, muttering something about teenagers under her breath before Kim took another bite of cake. It was nice to be back.

Setting up the wedding had been a pain. A giant mess. They had secured their position at the church, but getting something for the reception afterwards was just as bad. Then she had to firmly put her foot down when Susan kept trying to invite people that she didn’t know, that she hadn’t even heard of. It was hard.
The event coordinator for this hotel was nice, kind as he explained everything. They had decided a hotel would be nice for everyone that was traveling as it would be somewhere close for them to stay.
“And we have an all inclusive bar-,” He continued on as he showed off the lobby. Kim stumbled over her feet for a moment, her mouth suddenly going dry as she found the means to speak.
“No alcohol.” Billy and Kim spoke at the same time, apparently both struggling over the suggestion for a second. An inclusive bar would end up being nothing but trouble for all of them.
The coordinator stalled this time, blinking in surprise as Kim shot a look towards Billy. She wasn’t sure how to explain herself, but had a feeling that explaining that her family had a vast history of alcoholics wouldn’t be good.
“It’s, uh, it's complicated,” Kim smiled stiffly, “Can we just do mocktails?” She asked instead, rubbing the back of her head as she tried to switch the situation around again.
“You want us to not serve any alcohol?” He asked as he tilted his head, like he still didn’t understand. She sighed softly as she sagged her shoulders, not sure how to explain it to him.
“Please,” Billy mumbled, “Just mocktails.” He nodded his head as he rubbed at Kim’s shoulders, giving her a reassuring squeeze. She smiled as she nodded along. It was hard being more stern with people, but she was learning from this whole experience.
“Alright,” The bartender nodded along, “Sure. If that’s what you want.” He grabbed his pen as he wrote it down on the piece of paper he’d been carrying around on the clipboard. She glanced around at the large windows, staring at the pretty deck then down towards the ocean. It would be really nice to get married here.
“Thank you,” Kim grinned, “This is a very cute place.” She said honestly, fascinated with how fancy it looked. And it was in their budget. She was sure it had to be a sign.
“How many people do you have?” The coordinator asked as he finished filling out their application process. Kim thought in her head, trying to quickly count up who all would be there.
“Not many,” Billy replied, “What? Less than forty?” He asked her, tilting his head thoughtfully. She nodded along, sure that it would be around that much. She’d count out who all said they were coming when they got back, then Billy could call back up and confirm it.
“Sounds cozy,” The coordinator smiled, “I’m sure it’ll be great.” She took a deep breath, hoping that he was right. It was so close that she was beginning to freak out, but she didn’t want Billy to know that. She was terrified about walking down the aisle, about so many eyes on her, about something going wrong. She tugged at the ends of her hair, bringing herself back down for a moment. She could handle this.
-
“What do you think?” Kim asked nervously as she held Jennifer’s hand, helping her walk out from the room. Gina turned, her brown eyes widening as she stared down at the little girl.
Jennifer’s dress was large and poofy, a soft blue that matched with the rest of the bridesmaid dresses. Kim had spent some time searching for the right one for her and the toddler had agreed that the bigger the better.
She had a bright blue bow in her thick hair, revealing her pretty brown eyes as she happily rocked back and forth on the tips of her toes. She looked happy. She had proclaimed that she looked like Cinderella, which Kim had agreed with.
“It’s-,” Gina paused for a moment as she started again, “Something. Wow. It sure is something.” She blinked rapidly, like she was taking in the image all at once. Kim winced as she watched her reaction.
“You don’t like it?” She pressed her teeth together, furrowing her eyebrows as she looked down at Jennifer. Jennifer looked back up, her lips parted like she couldn’t believe it either. Gina sat forward quickly.
“No, no,” She shook her head quickly, “I never said that. It’s just-, wow it’s a lot. She looks like a princess.” She replied dramatically as she held her hands out, gesturing towards the little girl. Kim wondered if the bedazzled bottom and puffy sleeves had been too much.
“Queen.” Jennifer corrected with a firm nod of her head. She tugged Kim down, resting her head against her shoulder as she pouted her lips out. Kim did the same, fluttering her eyelashes in hopes that Gina would get the vision a little better.
“Mhm,” Gina continued to nod her head, like she couldn’t do anything else, “And this is the one Steve agreed to as well?” She asked curiously, slowly like she was trying to paint the full picture.
“Yeah,” Kim replied as she straightened the tulle of the dress out, “He liked this one the most out of all of them.” She replied as she looked at Jennifer, giving her a small nod. She was still playing with her dress, looking quite excited. Gina cleared her throat.
“Jennifer,” She started again, “What do you think about the dress?” She questioned, but found her answer soon enough as the little girl began to squeal in joy. Kim watched, feeling like she was just as excited. Jennifer had loved her wedding dress just as much.
“I love it,” Jennifer giggled as she swayed her dress back and forth, “Immy say I pwetty.” She looked up at Kim with a bright smile, hugging onto her arm tightly. Gina sighed.
“I love it then,” She said at last, her smile looking a little forced but supportive, “As long as it doesn’t light up.” She added a second later, looking quite serious. Kim pouted. That would’ve been a cute idea.
-
The rehearsal before the wedding was a disaster. Addi and Eddie’s plane had been delayed, which meant they had yet to arrive. Jennifer was fussy and wouldn’t walk down the aisle unless Steve held her hand the way down. Gina was struggling with a bad case of nausea while Susan and Rosemary kept nitpicking every action that the other did.
This would be their third time running through the session and Billy could feel his nerves sizzling and frying as his blood continued to boil. He’d already had two smoking breaks, but Susan and Wayne had followed him out when he’d attempted a third.
“Hey,” Max slowly spoke up, “I know this is uh not going how you want it to go, but I have a question.” She said as she furrowed her eyebrows together, pulling her lips into a tight smile.
“What now?” Billy snapped, looking towards her as they stopped the rehearsal once again. He didn’t mean to sound like such a dick, but he was frustrated. And he could tell Kim was stressing out by the way she kept messing with her fingers and her hair.
“I was just wondering which side dad would sit on?” She started, looking unsure, “I mean does he sit on my side- I mean Kim’s side of the family? Or does he sit by Rosemary on your side of the family?” She asked as she looked towards Sam. Sam stalled as he looked back and forth, like he wasn’t sure either. Billy cursed underneath his breath.
“Oh I mean,” Kim gulped, “They could probably all sit together.” She nodded her head quickly, coming to the quick conclusion that seemed to make sense. It should make sense, but of course someone had issues with it.
“I’m not sitting by him.” Susan protested as she glanced towards Sam, her features wrinkled up in disgust. Billy dropped his head into his hands, sighing deeply. He was really, really wishing that they had just eloped.
“The feeling is mutual.” Sam mumbled underneath his breath, shooting Susan an irritated look before he looked away. Russell grinned, looking like he was seconds away from coming to his father’s defense before Billy took control of the situation.
“Everyone can sit near each other,” Billy replied quickly before Susan could snip back, “There’s not that many of us anyways.” He mumbled, knowing that they’d only take up five or six pews at most. They could all sit together in a church for an hour. He didn’t even care who followed them to the reception at this point. He’d happily take all the leftovers for him and Kim.
“That’s not very typical.” Rosemary said as she rubbed at the back of her head, for some reason having a complaint. Billy shook his head as he looked at her exasperated, but it was enough to make her hush.
“Neither is marrying your sister.” Russell snorted out, taking everyone by surprise as Tommy and Steve followed into a fit of laughter. Billy swore his eye twitched.
“Excuse me?” The priest turned wide eyed, staring at them horrified. Kim stuttered and stumbled over her words, her face somehow pale and bright red all at the same time.
“He’s being an ass-, I mean a butt,” Billy mumbled underneath his breath, “Can we continue?” He asked as he pressed his lips tightly together, figuring that he’d need a whole new carton of cigarettes by the end of the night.
By the fourth session it was mainly down. Mainly. Billy made his own prayer before he left, pleading that they could at least get through the wedding without causing a giant scene.
“We were going to get dinner at this pasta place downtown,” Kim started slowly, looking cute in her white dress that ended above her knees, “Anyone is welcome to join.” She added kindly, but he could tell that she was unsure about her offer. Especially with the way Susan and Rosemary were glaring at one another.
“What about the bachelor party?” Tommy whined as he dropped his head back in frustration. He’d gone on and on about Billy having one, even though he’d been clear that he wasn’t interested. It just wasn’t for him.
“What party?” Steve asked, sounding offended as he balanced Jennifer on his hip. She still bore an irritated expression, but Gina had mentioned that she’d been refusing naps more and more. He had a feeling it had to do with the new baby that would be arriving very soon.
“There is no party,” Billy replied dryly, “Kim and I are having a movie marathon and that’s it.” He shrugged his shoulders as he glanced towards her. He wanted to be with her before the wedding. It just seemed right.
“Sounds real fun.” Max replied with a scoff, shaking her head like she couldn’t believe it. She had cut her hair short again, the soft curls bouncing as she rolled her eyes playfully.
“I like our movie nights.” Kim said in defense of themselves, her eyes softening before Max shoved at her shoulder.
“I do too,” Billy agreed, “Plus, I need to make sure she wakes up in the morning.” He added as he glanced towards the bride to be, grinning at the way she rolled her eyes. It was true though. She struggled to wake up.
“Well,” Steve drew out slowly, “Sounds like fun. We’ll see you guys in the morning.” He shrugged his shoulders as he glanced back towards Gina, who was struggling to walk with her large baby bump. They were having another girl though and Steve was very excited about it.
“Bye!” Jennifer replied cheerily, looking happy for the first time that evening. She waved sweetly, squinting her eyes as she got carried off to the car. He snorted.
“You think we can do this without someone blowing up?” He asked her as he walked back towards the car, watching the way she took a deep breath. She debated her answer for a moment, shaking her head.
“I certainly hope so.” She said at last, laughing softly as she dropped her head for a moment. He joined her. He supposed if it went to shit, they’d always have a funny story to tell.
That night they got their food to go, spending their last night as an unmarried couple curled up on the couch with one another watching a selection of their favorite movies. Perhaps it wasn’t what most couples did, but it was what they wanted to do.
-
“Hi,” Billy smiled as he kissed all over her face, “Good morning, Red.” He hummed as she felt her eyelids slowly pull open, a groan leaving her lips as she stretched her arms out far above her head. Her muscles squealed in protest, her joints cracking before she relaxed once again.
“Hi,” She giggled in response, smiling as she held onto him, “Is it that time already?” She sighed as she glanced over to their alarm clock. She wished they had a few more minutes. Just a few.
“It is,” He mumbled as he pecked her lips again, “Mrs. Hargrove. Fits you nicely.” He teased as he rubbed the tip of his nose against her own. She smiled as she thought about it, her heart hammering roughly inside of her chest.
“Fits perfectly,” She said in agreement, “I better get ready. Oh my gosh, I can’t believe this is actually happening. The girls should be here soon.” She sat up on the edge of the bed, thinking about everything she needed to get ready. She had already told them that she’d make muffins for them before they got here.
“Yeah, yeah,” He nodded his head, “I’m getting kicked out of my own house, I get it.” He stretched his legs out from underneath the sheets, groaning as he pushed his hair out of his face. He had cut it again, letting it rest against his shoulders. It wasn’t even necessarily a mullet anymore. She liked it.
“I’m sorry,” She said with a smile, “Just for this morning. And part of the afternoon.” She said as she thought about when their ceremony would start. She felt nervous as she thought about it once again. It had all crept up so soon but taken so long at the same time. She was going to marry Billy. It was a lot to think about.
“Lucky me.” He replied dryly as he continued to rub his palms over his face. She smiled as she watched him, thinking about how handsome he looked. She scooted back over to him, brushing her nails across his skin.
“And then we’ll meet at the church,” She added as she kissed his cheek, “It’s going to be perfect.” She hummed as she pulled away, poking his nose playfully. He laughed as he shook his head at her.
“A fairytale?” He questioned as he looked up at her, eyebrows cocked as he waited smugly. She pretended to think about it as she leaned against him.
“Storybook fairytale like,” She grinned, “Maybe you should ride in on a horse.” She suggested playfully, deciding that he would look fairly handsome riding in on one. He snorted as he tapped his fingers against her knee gently.
“Now you’re pushing it,” He responded as he crawled out of bed, “You better get decent before they arrive.” He shot her a wink, distracting her for a very long moment as he walked towards their shared closet in all his glory. She wondered if it would be alright to be late for their own wedding.
As soon as her friends arrived, they worked on hair to start with. Addi had finally arrived early that morning and looked like she hadn’t slept a wink, but promised she would energize herself soon enough. Gina worked on curling Kim’s hair into thick curls, tying the top of her hair back and leaving the rest to rest against her shoulders and back.
Kim decided on a nice lilac eyeshadow, with just a little bit of eyeliner but enough mascara to make her eyes look big and wide. And bright red lipstick. Just for the occasion.
Max wasn’t too intent on the getting ready part, but she did like being the one to pick out the music they all listened to. Jennifer danced around the room, squealing about how happy she was to wear her dress. Kim was just glad that she liked it.
She was most nervous about putting on the dress, even though most of the people in the room had already seen her in her dress. Except for Susan. Perhaps she was just scared about what Susan would think.
The dress has a sweetheart neckline that rested gently below her collarbones as it traveled over towards her shoulders. The sleevers were large and puffed, sheer and made to look like ribbons. The top of her dress criss crossed down to her ribs, hugging them tightly before it puffed out greatly again. Each layer of ribbon grew larger and larger until the long train gathered behind her.
“Do I look okay?” She asked nervously as she held her fingers tightly together. She listened as Addi finished zipping it up in the back, securing it in place. Everyone’s eyes were on her and it took everything inside of her to remind herself to keep breathing, to get used to it. Everyone would be watching her today.
“You look so grown up,” Susan whispered softly as she gripped Kim’s jaw to kiss her cheek, “Oh. My sweet baby.” She cooed softly, smiling as she held onto her. She sighed in relief, glad that she got her approval.
“Mom,” Kim whined, but still smiled as she leaned in against her mother’s touch, “Thank you.” She said as she nodded her head, feeling like she was ready. She needed to do it now before she got too afraid to do it at all.
All of the dresses were the same soft blue, but Addi’s was slightly more frilly while Gina’s was a little tighter. Slightly more low cut. Max had found her own jumpsuit that matched nicely and even bore a white belt around her waist. She looked cute.
Kim felt like she was trembling as she finished up her last touches on her makeup, on her outfit. She was fearful that she might pass out, or vomit. One of the two. She kept taking deep breaths, reminding herself that it would be fine.
“Gloves or no gloves?” She asked once they were crammed into the car. Her dress took up the majority of the room as Rosemary drove them to the church. Susan was silent. At least they were trying to get along, even if it meant sitting in silence.
“Let me see,” Addi replied as she looked over as Kim slipped them on, “Oh yeah, gloves for sure.” She nodded her head, rubbing her hand over her stomach once again. She wasn’t as far along as Gina was, but she apparently had suffered through some very serious morning sickness. In some odd way, Kim almost felt like she was behind the rest of her friends. They had already been married for some time and now had children. She inhaled deeply again.
“You can always take them off,” Gina added a second later, “But I think they look cute too.” She nodded reassuringly as Jennifer continued to squirm in her carseat. She was not happy that she wasn’t out and about like the rest of the girls.
She carefully slid out of the car, her legs feeling like jelly as the girls adjusted the train of her dress and veil. She was going to be sick. The sight of the church loomed in front of her and she was sure the only way she managed to get inside was because of Addi pushing her forward. Her knees felt weak, like she was going to faint.
“I don’t know if I can walk in front of everyone.” She admitted as she gripped Sam’s arm tightly. He looked handsome in his tux, but she couldn’t focus in on any of the details as she thought about how comfortable it must be to hide underneath the pews. Perhaps everyone could turn away when she walked inside.
“Nonsense,” Sam chuckled as he turned towards her, “It’s everyone you know.” He gave her hand a tight squeeze, bringing her slightly back to the earth as she stared at the various blue flowers that were decorated in front of the doors. She knew there were many more inside of the church, then they’d be taken to their reception center. She gripped her bouquet tighter. She had plenty of white carnations that she had put within them.
“They’re going to see us kiss.” She whispered in horror, eyes wide as she thought about the whole fact of it suddenly. Her stomach fell to the floor as the slow sound of the piano started, signaling that everyone would be walking soon.
“I think everyone has seen you two kiss.” Addi replied dryly, shaking her head as she held onto Eddie. Tommy turned from where he stood with Max, reaching behind to give her a soft squeeze on her wrist. She nodded her head.
“You’re not helping,” Kim squeaked out, “This is so scary.” She turned towards her father, sure that he could see the fear in her eyes as Gina and Steve stepped out first. Jennifer took a step forward then stopped, remembering when she was supposed to go.
“There’s nothing to be scared about,” Sam reassured her, “Trust me. Everything is going according to plan.” He promised her, blue eyes twinkling with his own set of tears. She gulped harshly. No. She would not cry. Not yet.
She read enough romance novels to know all the cliches, to know that time was supposed to slow down and then stop. It didn’t happen like that. Faces rushed by, blending into one another but the world didn’t stop for her. Everything moved exactly like it was supposed to as her focus zoned onto Billy.
He looked more than handsome in his new tux, his hands tightly laced in front of him like he didn’t know where to put them either. His cheeks were slightly red, his blue eyes more intense than usual. He was crying, his gaze soft like he was feeling the same things she was.
She started crying as she reached him, unable to help it as all of her nerves and emotions collided all at once. Sam gave her one last kiss on the cheek before he joined Rosemary, leaving her to reach for Billy’s hand and pull herself up to join him.
She couldn’t stop staring at him as he slowly pulled her veil back, revealing her completely to him. His lips curled into the softest smile before he touched his thumb to her chin. She breathed out, reminding herself that she had to wait. She couldn’t kiss him yet, but she really wanted it.
It was a blur, the words and phrases that they said and repeated. Her own personal vows and the ones he created as well. Everything sort of molded together as she continued to stare into his eyes, losing herself into the gentle waves. It was happening. It was really happening.
When he could finally kiss her it was gentle, sweet. It was romantic and it made her head swirl and her insides melt away. She had never felt such happiness before. She was so deeply in love with him. He had ruined her in the best way.
-
“Kiss, kiss, kiss!” Tommy continued to chant, obnoxiously banging his knife against his glass before Billy did exactly that. He’d lost count of how many times he had kissed Kim that night, but everyone seemed to enjoy teasing her about it. She seemed to flush harder each time.
“Enough with that,” She whined as she covered her face, “It’s so embarrassing.” She whispered but her lips were pulled into a wide smile. He laughed as he wiped at his own mouth, sure that he had lipstick on his mouth to prove it.
“You two just look so cute,” Alma teased as she twisted and turned with Tommy, finally agreeing to have a dance with him, “I like your lipstick, Billy.” She added as she wiggled her eyebrows, looking quite proud of herself.
“Fuck you.” He shook his head, rolling his eyes before he wiped at his mouth again. He looked down at his hand, confirming his stained lips as laughter sounded over the music.
“Oh,” She puckered her lips out as she held a hand over her chest, “Right after being in church? You offend me.” She said dramatically, making him snort.
“He’s very offensive.” Tommy agreed quickly, nodding his head. Billy thought about smarting off, telling Tommy about how he would agree with whatever Alma said but then he decided against it. He’d mind his tongue for right now.
“I don’t think so,” Kim said softly as she rubbed her palms across his shoulders, “I think he’s very sweet.” Her eyes were gentle, full of admiration as she looked at him. It was enough to make him stall for a moment, tripping over her feet this time.
“Gross.” Max huffed from where she stood with Lucas, the two of them at quite an awkward distance apart as they danced back and forth. He had honestly been surprised that she had asked to bring him in the first place, but he hadn’t been mad about it at all. He was happy for her.
“You’ll be next,” Kim teased as she smiled brightly, “Aren’t you excited?” She asked playfully. Billy raised his eyebrows, wondering if there would be plans for such a wedding.
“No ring yet, Kimberly,” Max huffed, “And I’ll be excited as long as I don’t have to wear that dress.” She shook her head, holding her chin high like she wouldn’t be seen in such a thing.
“I think it looks nice,” Lucas spoke up, “It reminds me of that movie, uh, The Labyrinth!” He nodded his head, like he was proud that he had remembered it.
“I love that movie!” Kim exclaimed, still facing Billy before they turned once again so she could face the younger couple. He was glad that everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, even if there was no alcohol. It wasn’t much of a party, but they did have dancing and music And food.
“Of course you do.” Max huffed as she shook her head, like she knew that Lucas would agree with her sister. Kim grinned triumphantly, making Billy chuckle.
“It’s a pretty damn good movie.” Steve added in where he was taking turns spinning Gina and Jennifer around. Gina looked like she was close to calling it a night, whereas Jennifer was clearly riding out her sugar high.
“I learned how to play some of the music from that movie.” Robin added with a sly grin. She wasn’t dancing, but was standing near enough to them. He had heard from Steve that she was apparently seeing some girl, but he still didn’t trust her.
“I’m sure you did,” Billy replied dryly as he shifted Kim away, making her squeal at the fast way he spun her. Around and around. She was a flash of white, like an angel, “What are we going to do tonight?” He asked her
“I have no idea,” She giggled, “I still can’t believe we’re married.” She said honestly as she held onto him close. He sighed deeply as he gripped her hips a little tighter.
“I can’t either,” He hummed as he rested his forehead against hers, “I won’t ever be apart from you again.” He told her seriously. He couldn't imagine spending a long time without her.
“You better not,” She said as she pretended to hit his arm, “Wherever you go, I follow.” She said as she furrowed her eyebrows together fiercely. He smiled again.
“Promise?”
“Promise.”
-
They flew out to Texas the next day and spent one night in a basic hotel before they were off for their cruise. It was five days, spanning from Honduras to Costa Maya and then Cozumel. They’d decided on snorkeling as well as swimming with the dolphins and looking at different ruins. They were both excited, but she was bouncing off of the walls because of it.
Their room was a little crowded, but it wasn’t bad. It had everything that they’d need and he truly wondered if they’d be in here very often at all. He started to unpack their too many bags while she looked around, like it was all new to her.
“Look!” She shouted in excitement as she pointed out from the balcony, “Do you think we’ll see dolphins while it moves?” She leaned over it, standing on her tippy toes and making him a little nervous. He didn’t want her to fall overboard, it seemed to be something that would accidentally happen to her.
“Maybe,” Billy agreed as he leaned over the balcony with her, “We can sleep with the door open.” He added a second later, thinking that it would be pleasant to listen to the waves crashing around as they slept.
“Oh,” Kim breathed out deeply, “That will be so nice.” She moved her palms across the balcony railing, smiling deeply as she turned to face him. Her hazel eyes looked to be a little more green today, but perhaps that had to do with the color of the water.
He followed her back to the room, shutting the door behind them for the time being. It was very hot outside. He didn’t want to bring that into the room just yet.
“Do we break the bed in first,” She grinned as she linked their fingers together, “Or perhaps the shower?” She asked him curiously, narrowing her pretty eyes like she was debating about what would be better. He thought that everywhere needed to be broken in if he was being honest.
“You think we can both squeeze in there?” He asked with raised eyebrows, pulling the bathroom door open once again. It was not very large at all. It would be a tiny fit.
“Absolutely,” She grinned at him, “We could at least try.” She nodded her head, looking quite sure of herself as he shut the bathroom door once again with a snort.
“I think the balcony would be fun.” He said honestly. That was one of his new favorite places to have her in their apartment. He liked the thrill of it, the rush but also the way she looked when the sun was setting.
“Now?” She asked shrilly, eyes widening as her cheeks flushed once again. She played with her hair, a telltale sign that he had suggested the correct idea. He still liked that he could get her all flustered.
“Sure.” He smirked as he leaned against the side of the door, watching as she glanced between him and the balcony door like she didn’t believe what he was suggesting. “There’s boats passing by!” She protested as she held her hand out towards the door, gesturing towards it widely. He pretended to think about it, but knew that no one would really be able to tell who they were. It could be worth it.
“Well,” He laughed as he shrugged his shoulders, “We’d give them a good show.” He teased as he walked towards her, smiling before he pressed his lips against hers. She smiled against his mouth.
“You’re the worst.” She laughed as she shook her head, giving his shoulders a soft squeeze. He pulled her close once again, wondering how it had taken her so long to realize that.
They went exploring instead of breaking anything in just yet as Kim was far too excited to be on a boat. She kept asking him how it would feel, but he didn’t really know himself. He’d been on boats, but nothing this big.
“They have free pizza!” She spoke up as she pointed towards the sign, her eyes wide like she was suddenly hungry. He looked at it for a moment before he turned back to her.
“It probably tastes awful.” He told her seriously, feeling like it had to be something cheap and easy so they could get so much out to make it free. It probably wasn’t worth it.
“Yeah, but it’s free,” She said excitedly as she tugged him along, “Come on.” She smiled brightly, dragging him along as they waited in line. He didn’t huff about it. He supposed she was right. It was their honeymoon after all.
There turned out to be quite a few free things, including ice cream. Lots of ice cream. He wasn’t sure he’d need any ice cream or pizza for a long time when they got back. But he embraced it anyways.
The first night had been a little rocky, literally Kim was sure that she was going to be seasick by the way the boat kept moving and it took a lot of reassurances and medicine before she was calmed down. He was just glad she didn’t puke, because that would certainly be a mood ruiner.
“How many of those have you had?” He asked her the next day, the two of them sprawled out on one of the large tanning beds near the pool. She was in a rather small bikini, but was currently wearing a coverup to hide herself away. Not fun in the slightest.
“Three,” Kim responded, “But they have no alcohol. Taste.” She tried to offer him her mocktail but he shook his head. He didn’t want to get a headache from the sweet drinks she enjoyed.
“No thanks,” Billy laughed as he held a hand up, “That’s all sugar.” He told her seriously, knowing why she enjoyed it so much. It may lack alcohol, but it included everything to make his teeth hurt.
“This is our honeymoon,” Kim pouted, “Sugar doesn’t count.” She nodded her head, like it was some sort of truth. He shook his head, wishing that it was that easy for him. Perhaps for her. She still seemed lucky enough to eat whatever she wanted and not suffer the consequences.
“Uh huh,” He laughed as he looked over at her, “Maybe for you.” He squeezed at her thigh, letting her curl up closer to him as the music from the pool continued to blare. He shifted her book away gently as it seemed to creep closer and closer to him.
“It’s really good,” She responded with a shrug of her shoulders, “I think I’ll get a fourth.” She added as she looked towards the bar, like she was making her plan on when to approach. He chuckled as he turned to look at the way she continued to suck her drink down.
“You’re going to get a brain freeze.” He warned her as he pushed his sunglasses up over his head, getting a good look at the way her eyes widened. She stalled for a moment as she pulled away, trying not to wrinkle her features up.
“No.” She defended herself, her voice squeaking as she casually sat her drink to the side of her and stared straight ahead. He watched as her fingers twitched against her skin.
“Mhm,” He nodded as he looked back down at his book, “Do you have a brain freeze right now?” He asked as he raised his eyebrows, noticing the way she whined and brought her fingers up to her head.
“Maybe,” She groaned as she rubbed at her temple, “It betrayed me.” She shook her head for a moment, wiggling her jaw about until it began to pass. He stared as she picked the drink up once again.
“Poor thing,” He mocked playfully as he held onto her, “Are you still drinking it?” He asked with a laugh, bringing his own water up to his lips. She was something else.
“It just tastes so good,” She whined as she rested against him, “I can’t help it.” She pouted her lips out, making him shake his head. Her poor little taste buds.
They swam around for a little bit, but the pool was far too crowded for his taste. So was the hot tub. They could swim in the ocean when they arrived, he was fine with that.
He was removing his tank top, getting ready to strip down for a quick shower to wash away the sweat, grime and chlorine when he heard a horrified shriek.
“Billy,” She gaped as she lifted her black cover up, her eyes wide in horror, “I’m purple!” She proclaimed, eyes wide as she showed off her body. She cupped her tits, still wearing her bikini bottoms as he brought his hand up over his mouth. She really was.
“Jesus,” He laughed as he looked at her, “How did you manage to do that?” He choked back a laugh as he rubbed his fingers against her back, confirming that it wasn’t coming off.
“It must’ve been this,” She whined, “Oh my God, I’m going to be covered in it.” She tossed her head back dramatically, sounding fearful as he pressed his lips together.
“I’ll help scrub you down in the shower, Red,” He teased, “Or perhaps you’ve upgraded colors now.” He said again, chuckling to himself.
“This is not funny,” She said, even though she was laughing, “I washed this so many times before I wore it.” She sighed as she shook her head, beginning to pull her bottoms up. He thought about joking about tan lines but then decided against it.
It turned out they both could fit in the shower. It was cramped, very crowded. But it worked. Only it wasn’t to do anything really fun. He scrubbed at her back while she worked on her front, slowly working the purple away from her pale skin. It took forever to get the color off of her, but it eventually worked. Eventually.
“They have latin dancing!” She told him, feet in the air as she laid on her tummy on their bed. She was still in her robe, her skin fresh and raw from the shower. “What’s that?” He asked her curiously, raising his eyebrows as he brushed his fingers across her feet, giving her a little tickle before she sat up.
“I have no idea,” She said excitedly, “But they have free classes right now, we should join.” He looked at her surprised. Dancing was outside what they normally did.
“No,” He said quickly, “That sounds terrible.” He told her honestly as he tried to point towards the TV program that was playing. She leaned forward, pouting her lips out.
“Please,” She begged, “I really, really want to do this.” She whined as she shook him softly, making him groan in annoyance.
“You owe me.” He told her as he began to move his legs, inhaling through his nostrils even though he wasn’t that irritated. He supposed it would be an
“Whatever you want sir,” She said with a playful grin, “C’mon! It’ll be fun.” She began to dig through the closet, likely trying to find the right dress. Of course. Perhaps by the time she got ready it would be over with. If only he was that lucky.
-
She smiled as she closed her eyes, enjoying the feeling of Billy’s lips on her neck as she breathed in the salty sea air. She could see all the stars in the sky from how dark the night was. There truly seemed to be nothing from this far out.
His rough hands palmed at her flesh, moving from her hips to her tits as he nipped at the crook of her neck. She giggled softly, her stomach twisting in bliss at the rush that filled her. It was dangerous, but it made her excited all at the same time.
He pushed her leg up, resting her foot on the balcony rail before he pinched her nightgown up over her hips. He tugged her panties aside slowly, humming softly in her ear before he reached down to untuck himself from his pajama bottoms.
It was like a fire had started inside of her chest as jolts of electricity traveled from where he touched her. She moaned softly, enjoying the feeling of his thumb across her clit. He mumbled against her neck, chuckling softly before he slid his fat tip inside of her soaked hole.
She let her head drop back against his shoulder, whimpering as his thick girth slowly stretched her walls as he pulsed inside of her. She sighed as she held onto his wrists, eyes fluttering in pleasure. He groaned against the crook of her neck as the fluttering inside of her chest grew harder.
“Billy,” She moaned as she awkwardly rolled her hips back against him, desperately needing to feel his cock deep inside of her. She craved it, desperately needed the feeling of his cock dragging against her spongy walls, “You feel so good.” She breathed out, eyes feeling heavy at the way his calloused hands fell to her hips.
He grunted softly, keeping a tight grip on her as he rocked her cunt along the length of his thick cock. She licked at her lips, giggling softly as her clit hummed in anticipation. Her mouth parted in bliss, sounds of pleasure rolling off of her tongue as the feeling of his cock grinding into her slick cunt.
“Mhm, fuck,” He grumbled against her neck, teeth dragging against her skin as his fingertips dug deeper into her flesh. She whimpered, eyes shutting harshly as she rocked her body back against him, “Still the best little whore.” He sighed blissfully as he nipped at her chin.
She tilted her head back towards him, moaning as his lips slowly captured hers. She whimpered at the way he pressed himself in deeper, grinding into her as he caught the moans that slid from her lips. She moaned against his mouth, desperately needing to feel more of him as the pleasure continued to grow.
She felt like she’d been struck by lightning as she hurriedly rocked back against him, the sparks of pleasure growing within her as he clawed at her skin. She whined as she shut her eyes, trying to keep herself from growing too loud. But it was hard.
His cock fit snugly inside of her, stretching her out in the best kind of way while his balls smacked against her skin. She whimpered as she reached forward to grip the railing, clutching it for support as the pleasure sizzled inside of her. LIke she was going to explode.
He licked at her mouth, his tongue hot and heavy against her own as she drooled against him. Her thighs trembled, her knees weakened while he thrusted deeper and deeper. Like they were becoming one.
“Fuck, fuck,” She squeaked out, her lungs burning as she clamped down around his girth. She came with a cry, whining in pleasure as she rutted back against him, “Oh my God!” She whined, breathing harshly as his thrusts became slowly.
He sighed against her mouth, still littering kisses against her lips as he fell against her. He bottomed out, his cock pulsing as he came inside her. She squeaked out, moaning loudly as her toes curled from the pleasure.
She giggled softly as she shut her eyes, trying to take it all in at once as his hands continued to grope at her body. She liked it. Loved it. She was lucky. She’d get to feel this way forever. She’d get to have him forever.
“Love you, Mrs. Hargrove.” He mumbled against her skin, his chest sweaty and moving in pace with her breaths. He spoke like he knew what she was thinking. She was so thankful that he felt the same way. They were in this together.
“Love you, sweet husband.”
-
“Wow,” She breathed out as she stared at the shoreline, “The sand is so pretty here. Look at the water!” She exclaimed before she was off, rushing to see what it looked like up close.
It was definitely a lot clearer, the sand whiter with not as many rocks and shells. It was nice, different. Even if she still did prefer her beach back home.
She thought she would feel a little more homesick, but she quickly realized she had no reason to. Billy was here with her and he was her home.
Snorkeling has been a lot of fun. She enjoyed the different kinds of fish, how even this far out into the ocean it was bright and colorful. She was amazed with all of it really.
“It gets deep,” Billy laughed as they rocked back and forth. She held her head up high, kicking her feet so she wouldn’t fall under the gentle waves, “You’re lucky I was a lifeguard.”
“I’m doing just fine, thank you very much,” She said with a laugh, “Barely.” She pushed her goggles onto her forehead again, grinning as the salty water kissed at her chin.
“Don't go under,” He warned as he swam a little closer to her, making her heart flutter, “Do you think you can swim to the bottom and back?”
“Absolutely not,” She giggled softly as she licked at her bottom lip, “Way too scary for me.” She told him honestly. It was far too deep, definitely a longer swim than what she could manage.
“I bet I could.” He replied smugly, wiggling his eyebrows like he was waiting for her to dare him to do it. She looked back down at the clear water, deciding it was too dangerous.
“No,” She told him firmly, smiling softly, “You’re not allowed to. I’m going to need you alive and well.” She teased him, heart fluttering at the wide grin that formed on his lips. Good. He needed to know how much she cared.
-
He looked at the camera, excited to get back home and develop all of the photos. He was sure that they’d have plenty to decide between to hang on their walls. It was already crowded, he wondered how they’d get them all hung up.
Billy admired her as she sat down on the table, chewing on a bite of lobster as the sun danced around them. Her cheeks were a soft pink, slightly burnt but full of freckles as she continued to look around them. Her hair kept blowing in the breeze from the ocean as the waves collided against the shore around them.
“What do you think?” He asked her, tilting his head as she snapped her eyes towards him. He was sure he’d never get tired of looking at her. Every day he felt like he found out a new detail about her.
“It’s really nice here,” She told him with a bright smile, “We should stay here forever.” She said playfully as she inhaled deeply, looking around inquisitively at their view.
“I think our cats would miss us.” He said with a laugh, wondering how well Russell was taking care of them. He supposed that the poor boy was being tortured by Pearl, but at least he was getting paid for it.
“You’re right,” Kim responded quickly, “I miss them a lot.” She said as she nodded her head, looking conflicted for a moment. He missed everyone too, but he liked being able to get away on their own.
“Maybe this could be something we do in the summer,” He said softly, “When you’re out of school and everything.” He said with a smile, thinking that it would work with both of their schedules. She turned towards him surprised before she nodded.
“A yearly thing?” Kim questioned, “I’d like that a lot actually.” She leaned forward to kiss him, leaving him excited about what would come next.

Hajime Kashimo x Reader
Tumblr media
Hajime Kashimo:
You love getting into fights, you have a never give up attitude and your favorite Disney character is Lightning McQueen.
First Date:
It was the weekend and it was once again time to go through your list of errands for the day. Step one. You were now making your way towards the farmers market. The crops had flourished this year and you could get a good deal on groceries. You kept walking until you heard something in the distance. Yelling? It was usually calm here. You took a closer look. There were two men fighting. You then realized one of them was the nice man who you would always get your lemons from.
'Oh no'. You groaned. You knew he would never act this way so it must have been the other guy that instigated it. You walked up and tried to calmly diffuse the situation. "What seems to be the issue here?" The shop keeper pointed his finger towards the other. "This boy is a thief! He keeps stealing my precious lemons!"
"Is that true?" The boy scoffed. "So what? It's not like he put his name on them. They could belong to anybody!" The seller tried to lunge at him. "Why- why you little!" You then pushed him away. "Come on old man, he's not worth it." For some reason the boy seemed to think your words were directed at him. "Hmpf. That's how losers think!"
"Okay, that's enough!" You suddenly pulled him by the arm and dragged him away. "I'm guessing you're not from around here, huh? My names ############. What's yours?" He was quiet, deciding on whether on not he should answer. ".... I'm Hajime Kashimo. You better remember it because I'm the strongest there ever is!" You sighed. "So you chose to pick a fight with an old farmer because...?"
Kashimo face palmed. "Urk. Someone like you wouldn't understand!" He then noticed his next victim and ran towards them. This time it was the local gambling addict. "Hey you! You better be prepared for the fight of your life!" You pulled out a chair and some popcorn. This was going to be entertaining.
It was now six hours later. Kashimo was exhausted, being held away by a palm while he kept trying to get closer. The other hadn't even broken a sweat. "There's no shame in giving up you know." Kashimo laughed. "Ha! Fat chance! Just you wait, I'll end you!" The other boy sighed. "Whatever, I don't have time for this. I'm going to see Kirara. Later."
Kashimo was gasping for air. "Did you see that, ############? He got so scared that he ran away! Talk about being a coward!" You cringed. "Right... Well anyway, there's this guy named Sukuna. Turns out he's been looking for you so I'll leave the two of you alone. See you later." Kashimo gulped. "Well if it isn't the lemon stealing whore. You know it's not nice to take things that don't belong to you right?"
"..."
"Anyway I think it's fair to take your life as compensation. You humans eat fruit while I devour your kind." Kashimo blinked. "Wait wha-" Before he could react, Kashimo was hit by fuga. Now he was nothing but a pile of ashes. "Crap. I left the oven on too long. This happens every time! Sukuna's tummy mouth began to frown.

Wahhhh wahhhh wahhh "cabby is written as ableist" wahhh wahhh wahh "the ae team is bad because they """"support"""" isreal" wahhh wahhh wahhh "silver spoon is filthy colonist scum" wahhhh wahhhh wahhh "queerbaiting"
Cabby was written to be unintentionally malicious. How would you feel if someone told you they have a file on all of your information that they know about? She was then revealed that no, she does this to remember things, and Test Tube learns to accept that. She is ultimately a nuanced character who is supposed to be dismantled by the audience. Something people with actual media literacy would do.
Animation Epic has never point blank said they support Isreal. They know the political state. If they were to side with Israel, they would state it point blank. The flag Adam Katz used to have in his bio meant he was from/born there. The Disney trip they went on was possibly planned several years in advance. If they ever had the intent of supporting Isreal, they would have made it clear by now. Shut up about it.
Silver Spoon sees himself as worthless. He acts the way he does to cope with it. This is confirmed in ii18. Candle wants to be needed by others. This is also confirmed in ii18. These two characters are together because of their fucking flaws. As someone who is Wiccan, Candle isn't portrayed badly. None of this is "oriental." Wicca is a religion, not a race. Candle is more Wiccan reprentation than anything. Candles, the object, and the color purple are often used in ritual worship for an altar. Candles, the object, are also used for therapeutic purposes like aromatherapy. They are also commonly found at yoga and meditiation classes, used for this specific purpose. Candle, as a character, is a very rare positive combination of these things, as most witches and wiccan practicing individuals are villanized. Candle goes against the common evil witch stereotype. Silver Spoon is honestly less British than Taco is. Again, Silver puts up a facade to make himself feel like he's more important. It's plausible that he even does the accent to make him seem "better" to others.
Bot goes exclusively by they/them pronouns, and their entire arc was about finding what was right for them as an individual. Paintbrush has been nonbinary and has gone by they/them pronouns since the beginning. The people calling ae 'cowards' for how these two represent their identity just hate that these two have identities like this. How would you feel if someone called you a coward for being nonbinary and feminine in how you present?
Honestly, this blog is starting to get on my nerves. The people here all sound like 8th graders who are chronically online. Go outside and play in the dirt or something get off your fucking ipad.
i don't give two shits about the intent, either way whatever AE says their intent was is just corporate bullshit. cabby's scene came out as horribly ableist and many people agree with me on this. Neurodivergent people are TIRED of being villainized and as soon as we see some possible rep they turn it into a "evil" thing and as a cheap plot device. DAMAGE OVER INTENT, always.
you don't have to be israeli or a vocal israel supporter to help the zionists. Silence is complicity. also katz is not israeli idk where tf y'all are getting it from. Either way, refusing to delay episodes DESPITE CREW MEMBERS ADVOCATING FOR IT, not calling out the genocide that israel has been doing for YEARS, using the isr flag for "jewish pride" when there are OTHER EMOJIS to represent judaism, shows the kind of person katz is. We all gave you proof about it and y'all just keep defending this piece of shit to fit your weird ass cult of personality
candle is nothing but an ignorant clusterfuck of "non-white" cultures that are totally misunderstood and misrepresented "for the funny". And the fact they have a "british" man sabotaging MULTIPLE TIMES a poc-coded woman, only for the poc-coded woman to supposedly fall in love with him, is very, VERY weird. I have anons who ARE indigenous and agree with me to this.
Bot's representation was ASS because why the fuck would you use a ROBOT, created to mimic a DEAD PERSON (fucking weird) as a way to represent nonbinary/trans people and encourage a morally questionable stupid fucking "family" trope. As a nonbinary person, i would much rather like to not be represented at all than being represented like this. Stop acting like this is good rep for fuck's sake, actually educate yourself on good enby/trans rep.

Funny story, my friend asked me why I hate Aizawa while I adore Kakashi, saying that Aizawa is essentially same as Kakashi. And. I. Just. Can't. Stand. it.
Ninja is highly lethal occupation when murder between each other is not only unpunishable but often encouraged. A ninja tried to kill the MC in just the first chapter and angry mob tried to do the same. A teacher prevents his student from succeed in their important future career when they are not 'ready' for him is very understandable and sympathetic. If Hori tried to copy that, he shouldn't show heroes that only there for model gig, heroes that were very unharmed in all their career, or at least give me one notable heroes that died in MHA because of non-AFO related reason. I just can think of one, Endeavor's dad whoever he is. And unfortunately that backstory is already used to justify eugenic.
Obitobi's foreshadowing is strong since the first Bell Test while Shirakumogiri has no foreshadowing and has the lamest reveal ever. We can feel how Kakashi treasured Obito since like chapter 6, we've shown how pure Obito is and how malicious Tobi is, so when the big reveal happened we can all collectively said 'sheeeiitt that's horrible'. Shirakumo? No foreshadowing except like a couple Vigilante chapter which is not written by Horikoshi anyway. Hori only showed us Kurogiri being bartender, Shig's nanny, and occasional Uber driver. After experiencing massive gut-wrenching seeing Kakashi beyond despair at having his hero being the worst man ever, I should sympathize with that bitch's cry why?
Kakashi would love Izuku and hate Bakugo for their stands in teamwork. Aizawa meanwhile did the opposite.
For a Kakashi fan like me, Aizawa feels like an attempt from an amateur writer to copy Kakashi's coolness but forget to include the nuances or basic complexity of why those 'cool' aspects are there on the first place. Exclusively wrapped in Disney level of cowardness.
I’ve never seen the anime Kakashi’s from, but from what you’ve told me he has far better reasons for what he does than Shota does.
