I think the pandemic showed that we can't handle more than two or three syllables for everyday disease names. Novel Coronavirus became The 'Rona, and COVID 19 dropped the 19. (I think rightfully.)
I propose a new convention for numbering. Use only the final digit of the year. If the number's name doesn't fit, use a Latin form, or just a consonant or two.
Squish things around until they flow, and squish them differently if the elements repeat. If we'd had one COVID in 2009 and another in 2019, they could be COVIDIN and COVINON, or CODINOV, etc.
Since repeat numbers would be a decade apart, you'd know you're getting old if you start mixing them up.

Fun that so many phonetically pleasing words refer to things one wouldn't generally find pleasant
I mean Tolkien was definitely onto something when he waxed poetic about "cellar door" but also Viscera would be a lovely name for a girl
Malaria. Misery. Tetanus. Chlamydia. Rubella. Phlegm. Anthrax. Influenza.
we used up all our pretty words on diseases and that's why the spiny lumpsucker is called that

Morgott and Symbolism of Leprosy
Foreword, I’m not familiar with writing long texts and analysis in English. Please keep that in mind regarding poor formulation or grammar. Thanks!
Tumblr media
Leprosy
Leprosy, or Hansen’s disease, is a contagious autoimmune infection. It is often characterized by rashes, hypoalgesia (decreased sensitivity to pain) and visible lumps on your skin, or nodules. Someone who’s suffering from leprosy is commonly referred to as “lepers.” Leprosy usually stems from poverty and closeness to infected people.
The disease has been around for millennia and has been generously documented in the Bible. They have always been heavily stigmatized for being a curse caused by the lepers' sins.
Leviticus 13:2-3
“When anyone has a swelling or a rash or a shiny spot on their skin that may be a defiling skin disease, they must be brought to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons, who is a priest [...] “When the priest examines that person, he shall pronounce them ceremonially unclean.”
The leper was prohibited from being around 50 paces (125 feet/38 meters) of another person, including family.
Numbers 5:2
“Command the people of Israel that they put out of the camp everyone who is leprous or has a discharge and everyone who is unclean through contact with the dead.”
Leviticus 13:45
"The leprous person who has the disease shall wear torn clothes and let the hair of his head hang loose, and he shall cover his upper lip and cry out, ‘Unclean, unclean.’”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The leper was forced to wear a branded sackcloth, rags, a cross and a bell they rang when approaching people. They were obligated to announce their presence to warn townsfolk. They were often veiled due to their deformities and were depicted wearing hats in art. Unrelated to leprosy, but Cesare Borgia was forced to wear a mask when his face was disfigured by syphilis.
The Fell design
Starting with Morgott’s design, there are correlations to medieval leper attire. Wearing rags, commonly depicted with a staff and shrouding their face.
I will be using references from the lovely Tarnussy who made a fantastic reference masterpost for Morgott.
Morgott is wearing rags tied together with a loose rope around his neck (which is sinister.) It has two knots, which is something prominent in the twin's designs. He has a big, loose hood as well. Though unable to by his horns, you can hide your face with them. Despite being a descendant of Godfrey and Marika, he hides in rags he similarly wore as a shunned child. He possesses similarities to both of his parents, Godfrey's white hair, big nose, and Marika’s first letter.
All of the Demigods have names that start with either of their parent's initials, as well as hair color. Radagon’s and Rennala’s children’s names start with R, Malenia and Miquella starting with M, while Malenia has Radagon’s red hair, etc.
Morgott (and Mohg) having the same naming convention as their mother instead of his father is a peculiar choice, which begs the question of what qualities relate to which parent or if it’s coincidental. Perhaps there was a motherly bond initially, but I digress.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Credit to Tarnussy for both screenshots
Morgott has a lot of hair. His head hair is quite thick, and while it might be a reach, I’d argue the partial idea is to hide his face with his growing beard(?). Considering the length of it I imagine there was a need to trim parts of it for battle. And get this man some Calvin Klein boxers.
He also wanders with his cane, which lepers were portrayed as having. Hiding his Accursed Sword within. It was a tactical decision to hide it, as he recanted the belief of the accursed blood or Blood Oath. He only wields it when necessary, as a last resort. Allowing himself to be him, despite being riddled with guilt and shame until his last moment.
Tumblr media
“People scrambling to get away from a person with leprosy” by R. Cooper, 1912 (?)
Lastly, a direct hint towards the visual symptoms of leprosy is his nose. He has a big nose with visible bumps along the edges of his alar cartilage and fibrofatty tissue. His nose has a blue hue, highlighting it against his grayish-brown face. Nodules and pustules are common in leprosy, it has similarities to rhinophyma (a skin condition, unrelated to leprosy.)
Tumblr media
He looks like a sopping wet dog
Identity of the Fell
The main theme of Morgott is the cycle of shame and stigmatization. There are different ways to interpret it, but that’s the gist of it. He’s the opposite of Mohg, sticking by the fundamentalist Order rather than freeing himself. He carries a lot of guilt and shame, remaining loyal to the Order that wants him dead. He’s very insistent on being cursed, very.
Remembrance of the Omen King.
“Though born one of the graceless Omen, Morgott took it upon himself to become the Erdtree's protector. He loved not in return, for he was never loved, but nevertheless, love it he did.”
Phase two transition, during his fight in Leyndell.
“The thrones...stained by my curse... Such shame I cannot bear. Thy part in this shall not be forgiven.”
Phase two, player kill.
“May the curse seep to thy very soul.”
He’s ashamed of his affliction, his curse of being an Omen. He protects and guards the Erdtree, the resting place of his imprisoned mother.
He’s ashamed of his affliction, the curse of being an Omen, something he could not choose. He protects and guards the Erdtree, the resting place of his imprisoned mother, who harbored hate towards the Hornsent.
He spent most of his life in the Shunning-Grounds, akin to a leprosarium (leprosy colony) for the twins. They could interact without risking public outrage. Being bound to the sewers was a privilege, as only Omen royals were hidden from the dangerous world. I digress. It instilled the belief that he bore an unrelenting curse, never to be freed from it. The thoughts of guilt began early.
He is the rightful Lord of Leyndell, earning the nickname as the Veiled Monarch. No one knew of his identity or the fact he was an Omen. During the Second Defense of Leyndell he fought as Margit, the Fell. A ferocious warrior, he infused fear within those wandering outside the outer walls, taking the shape of a scrawny Commoner.
There is likely more to be said that I can’t think of right now. I’ll likely update the post with an update. I find the Omen twins very fascinating in how they contrast the others in belief, design, and identity. They’re reminiscent of the Protestant and Catholic faith, although not fully.
TL;DR: I may or may not like Morgott. Thanks for reading!

Researchers have developed a banana plant that is resistant to both fusarium tropical race 4 (TR4) and black sigatoka, two of the most destructive diseases for bananas. Professor of Phytopathology Gert Kema at Wageningen University & Research views the development of the new hybrid, named Yelloway One, as a major breakthrough in banana cultivation, stating, "We've known for some time that conventional breeding can help us develop plants resistant to these diseases. Now we've proven it, and more importantly, we've demonstrated that by using the latest genetic tools, we can do it much faster than others. This is of great importance for the future of banana farming."

The Original Text for How America Got Its Name
I recently purchased the vinyl for the 1979 version of In Trousers and in the liner notes it has the entire original text for How America Got Its Name. It's quite different from the 1985 version with the main difference being that Marvin is the only one who says anything; it is a solo monologue. There are other differences, but I would rather not list them all out. Anyway, here we go:
Marvin: (Dressed like Columbus) Columbus didn't use to be a sailor. He was first and foremost director of medicine at a prestigious institute for doctors in Eldoro. That's the truth. But nobody ever talks about his medical career anymore. He was embarrassed out of his job. Harassed. Made to be the butt of jokes at medical conventions. This is what happened. One day--now this is the truth--one day outside Poma del Fuego, he picked up a social disease from a man with red hair and broad shoulders like his mother. By the time Columbus got to the Verona Baths, he had cancres all over his chest where once bronze hairs grew. And back at the Institute no one could fail but notice an incredible diminution of intelligence on Columbus' part. He was half insane by the time they strapped him to a ship, and pushed him to sea.
MUSIC
With him on that boat were other socially diseased persons. From the few clippings extant, it appears they had a ball the whole trip and screwed like bunnies, never worrying if finally they were going to contract the dread disease, because they all had it, you see--so they debauched the whole night and awoke refreshed. This went on for thirty-four days.
MUSIC
I am going to discover Cincinnati, Columbus cried. Why Cincinnati, they asked him. For my Aunt Cynthia and Uncle Nathan, he said, who died four years earlier in a plague which my Institute never quite found the cure for. This is what the Jews do, he added, name other countries for the dead.
MUSIC
Halfway out to sea, or on the thirty-fifth day, Columbus' cancres began to disappear. He stopped moaning in the middle of lovemaking and began to say: "How about that, young man?" or sometimes, boasting, "Tell me you didn't like that." Well, everyone was glad to see Columbus becoming his old self again, but everyone was saying what a prick Columbus was. In his diary he wrote: "Whatever it is I discover, it better not give me any lip."
MUSIC
Fifty miles off Martha's Vineyard, it became clear that everyone's cancres had disappeared, their brains restored, bodies once again sound; and everyone had a good laugh about it, maybe whistled with relief, maybe gave a few pecks on the cheek here and there, but there was no heavy petting, you can be sure of that. "Hey, keep your hands off me fella"--you heard that pretty often on deck. And then later, "I said keep your hands off me!" Well, Lord knows, many lonely evenings, clippings extant say, because each man feared acquiring the dread disease which had brought him there in the first place. In his diary Columbus posed the question: "How many passionate persons can fit comfortably on the head of a pin?" He pondered the question, he sat with his chin resting neatly in the palm of his hand, and he replied. Question: "How many passionate persons can fit comfortably on the head of a pin?" Answer: "Merely one. Or... I don't know." (MUSIC BEGINS) I don't know.
MUSIC
So there they were on board looking out to see this new land Columbus was going to discover. And soon the blue horizon disappeared to be replaced by a magnificent array of greens. Fir green, evergreen, lime green, dark green, light green. The entire palette of greens stood maybe only a day's float ahead of them. No one moved. No one was allowed to move. When they were maybe fifty or seventy-five yards away, Columbus could not withstand his enthusiasm any longer. "My land is so beautiful," Columbus cried. "So beautiful," they agreed in unison, like a chorus, like a barbershop quartet multiplied by fifteen. 'So very beautiful." There were tears in Columbus' eyes. "Men," he turned to them, he looked at every one straight in the face, he was very moved by this discovery, "Men, no longer do I call this land Cincinnati; rather, this fine, green, beautiful land which I discovered today, I name AMERICA! After Amerigo Vespucci. A young man I met in Poma del Fuego with red hair and broad shoulders like his mother.
MUSIC
The thing about explorers is: they discover things that are already there. Columbus closed his diary and went ashore.

Steve/Tony, Hanahaki, UST, open ending
It is an unfortunate fact of Tony’s history that he’s familiar with the longing disease. Lung gardening. Hanahaki, or whatever other euphemisms they’ve come up with lately to describe it.
Naming conventions aside, Tony’s knows well enough what the affliction feels like – the warning sting at the back of the throat that’s followed by the pressure of something more personal, more vicious than mere phlegm. The body’s breathing apparatus has decided to betray its owner, and Tony’s had it enough times that he could be embarrassed, if he were the sort of person to be embarrassed by that kind of thing.
A cough, a heave, and then petals are cascading in a disgusting shower onto the tabletop. At least the tabletop is glass, which is easy to clean, and Tony’s reflexes were fast enough that he’d pushed Hill’s paper folder of printouts clear away.
Most people would be grateful to have their symptoms manifest in privacy. Those who do not, get used to the shocked silence that follows.
“Oh no,” comes Bruce’s voice from Tony’s left. Quiet, worried.
“Maybe—” Natasha clears her throat, businesslike, “—we can take five?”
“Ah, shit.” Tony straightens up and dabs at his mouth with a handkerchief. He eyes the pile of petals with a scowl, noting that they’re bright-colored blooms, as if he’s twenty years old all over again and doesn’t know any better. “Fantastic. Just what we needed today.”
“Yeah, we can take five—” Clint starts.
“As if we don’t have enough to do.” Tony sighs. “Goddammit, Steve.”
“What?” Steve says.
Being an old hat at surviving Hanahaki also means that Tony knows the faces he’ll see when he looks around the table. There’ll be surprise, concern, empathy, and discomfort in various combinations, and Tony gets all of that and then some, because the Avengers have so far rolled with a number of far greater inconveniences with grace.
“Look.” Tony takes one last cleaning swipe of his face with the handkerchief and drops it on the pile. “It’s not your fault, I’m not blaming you, but you gotta step up on this if we’re gonna make the flight out in time to follow Thor’s lead.”
“I, what—” Steve blinks twice, quick and robotic, before those same eyes widen.
Ah, so this is a surprise to Steve, which might be even more irritating than the Hanahaki itself. Tony could try to be half-full-cup about it and take it from the angle that this means that he hadn’t been too ridiculous openly about his burgeoning crush on the good Captain. But that would take more effort than he’s willing to expend.
It was supposed to be just admiration. Idle feelings to be nurtured like a baby bird of a side hobby. Good fucking going, Stark. What had Steve even been doing to make it tip over? Squinting at Natasha’s slide with that stoic yet judgmental purse of the mouth that usually has Tony internally clapping his hands with glee?
That could do it.
“Yeah, I know, it’s stupid,” Tony says, waving it off. “You don’t even like me as a human being, but I’m a masochist that way sometimes. Good news is, I’m also fickle, so it probably won’t be that hard to make me hate you. By this afternoon, hopefully? Or whenever you’re ready, I’m sure you’ll figure something out, but anyway this is still…” He eyes the pile of petals. “This is way early stages, we’ll have weeks, but the sooner the better.”
“What do you mean I don’t like you as a human being?” Steve says, as though that’s the most important part of what Tony just said.
“You need to be mean to me, okay?” Tony says.
Bafflement animates Steve’s normally poster-handsome face. Bafflement, and then offense, as though Tony just asked him to kick puppies, which Tony would never do, and anyway Tony isn’t a puppy. Steve can be mean, sometimes by accident and sometimes on purpose, and those glimpses of candid moments are so rare – for Tony, at least, since the others know Steve far better than Tony ever could – that Tony has and does treasure every single one.
Unfortunately, this thought sends a wave of affection rolling through Tony’s brain, which is followed by a wave of petals rolling out of Tony’s mouth. And this time they do destroy Hill’s folder of printouts.
He recovers faster this time, which may or may not be helped by Bruce patting his back gently.
“Sorry, correction.” Tony wheezes through an inhale. “You need to be mean to me, and not in a sexy way.”
“What—?” Steve starts.
“Stark means that you need to be cruel to him to stunt his feelings for you,” Thor says, nodding solemnly. “But to not use language that he’d find appealing. ‘Tis a fine line, indeed, I understand the challenge there.”
“Thor,” Bruce says.
“What?” Thor says.
“Right,” Clint says, “I think we should not be here for this.”
“We were finishing up anyway.” Tony stands up and shoves all the petals into the folder that will be going into the trash pronto. “I need to do a health scan but you guys can keep going with that entry route, and let me know what you’ve decided before suit up, yeah?“
“Tony,” Steve says. “You’re—that’s dangerous—”
“Yes, yes, I am aware,” Tony says irritably. “Romanoff, have my back?”
“We do face death on the regular,” Natasha says. “This is manageable.”
“See.” Tony points at Steve. “I’ll work on my part, but you have to do yours. Mean. You can do it, I believe in you. Just maybe… don’t use Howard?” He sighs. “No, you should probably use Howard. Anyway, I’ll be in lab, give me a buzz if there’s anything.”
Tony goes with a careless wave over his shoulder, and waits until he’s out of the room and the door is closed before he lets himself wince.
Could’ve gone worse, actually.

I should have died was not to be confused with wanting to die. Fushiguro Megumi did not wish to die but such was his fate as a sorcerer. Jujutsu sorcerers did not die of old age or disease. They abandoned all conventions of a normal life, of potential happiness, to die in the most brutal of manners. Nanami Kento was dead. Kugisaki Nobara was lingering in a state between life and death. Gojou Satoru was defeated and sealed. Itadori Yuuji just barely escaped with his life though carried tremendous burdens. And Megumi felt the battle was lost and dreaded the next. It wasn't just about his benefactor and fake father figure being sealed away or about the other tremendous losses experienced or even about the King of Curses who decimated Shibuya to tame Mahoraga and save Megumi's life as a result. Granted, that was a lot of shit which weighed heavily on his head. More than that, selfishly, it was coming face-to-face with an enemy turned... he did not know what.
Whoever the fuck the man was, Megumi should have reported it to someone, but was a powerful man really at the top of anyone's list? Everyone was either pissed or grieving, and Megumi did what he did best. One of the things anyway. He kept quiet. As the rubble and blood of Shibuya was cleaned up, Megumi returned to the scene of decimation and chaos in search of answers. Why had the man asked for his name, and why had he stopped trying to kill him? It was almost like the name Fushiguro meant something to the stranger.. Megumi had much bigger fish to fry, but he couldn't stop thinking about those dead eyes and confusing grin. Something pulled at his heart. No. It was his mind. A weird stirring of deja vu that did not belong. He didn't know the man @fateofflames, and yet.... he was looking for him. Like a fool.
“ Is anyone here? It's Fushiguro Megumi. Fight me if you hear me. ”

Could you please, please write something for Yandere Hobie! Anything ♡
Yandere profile: 𝙷𝚘𝚋𝚊𝚛𝚝 𝙱𝚛𝚘𝚠𝚗
Hobart "Hobie" Brown aka Spider-Man or in a much more reduced measure, known as "Spider-Punk" from earth █████ is the 004 subject to be recognized as an unstable force.
He is a mild concern, as his tendencies seem to spread slower than other specimens.
██ 20% *___*
███ 40% *___*
████ 60% *___*
█████ 80% *___*
██████ 100% *___*
𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝. 𝐍𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐞𝐞: 𝐇𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐘𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐭.𝐞𝐱𝐞
𝘼𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣: 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙙𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣? 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙞𝙩 𝙜𝙚𝙩?
Despite suffering from the interdimensional disease known as "lovesickness" [temporary name] Hobie Brown rarely displays affection in a conventional way, preferring to casually initiate physical touch as opposed to big gestures or traditional performances of love, however, he makes the difference between platonic affection to his mates and his lover very clear
𝘽𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙙: 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙢𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙮 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙞𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜?
Quite bloody in fact. He has shown to not be above murder under the mantle of Spider-Man, nevertheless, his judgement of who "deserves" death and torture get severely clouded under the spell of the love sickness, he won't usually kill out of jealousy, but out of protectiveness, he considers jealousy to be petty and confidently thinks he can earn his lovers affection even with competition in the way.
𝘾𝙧𝙪𝙚𝙡𝙩𝙮: 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙? 𝙒𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙢𝙤𝙘𝙠 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢?
It is extremely difficult for Hobie to end up in a situation where he would kidnap his lover, but if it were to happen, he would do it knowing its at the cost of their love, even someone as manipulative as him knows that doing something so vile is not easy to "manipulate away", and he wouldn't want a partner with stockholm syndrome, so a kidnapping would not be a culmination of his obsession, but a downfall, and as painful as it'd be, he'd accept all the things they have to call him
𝘿𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜: 𝘼𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙖𝙗𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙙𝙤 𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜’𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡?
Like mentioned above, the abilities and tactics used by the subject, are of the psychological variety, so he could manipulate his lover to tolerate, accept or normalize his behaviours, but that's as far as he'd go. To him, there's nothing more foul than the patriarchal desire to find a love who's free only to cut their wings off and get the credit for "taming" their subservient partner. However, he would continue to kill people he considers are a threat or "undeserving" of his beloved, even if that upsets them
𝙀𝙭𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙙: 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙙𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙗𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜? 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙫𝙪𝙡𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙞𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜?
Completely vulnerable. Even if he tries his best to have the upper hand, he's completely vulnerable and he embraces it, turns it into part of his arsenal
𝙁𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩: 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡 𝙞𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠?
The subject's organism seems to be fighting the disease very strongly, allowing him to preserve his sanity, he would not be violent towards his target, much less be upset by them reacting negatively to a negative situation
𝙂𝙖𝙢𝙚: 𝙄𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝙜𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢? 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙚𝙣𝙟𝙤𝙮 𝙬𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙧𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙚𝙨𝙘𝙖𝙥𝙚?
It is not a game. He understands the abnormality in his feelings and behavior, and tries to keep his beloved safe from this. Opposed to his regular behavior, where he enjoys teasing and having control, he would not enjoy seeing his partner scared or severely psychologically scarred
𝙃𝙚𝙡𝙡: 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙗𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜’𝙨 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢?
Most likely finding him engaging in his violent "night activities" with someone they know or even cherish
𝙄𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙨: 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙛𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙙𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙛𝙤𝙧/𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜?
Lives in the moment, from what we have observed in variants, he doesn't plan a future and accept the various outcomes that his partner's wishes bring
𝙅𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙮: 𝘿𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙟𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙪𝙨? 𝘿𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙝 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙤𝙧 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙖 𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙤𝙥𝙚?
Does not see jealousy as a valid emotion, and considers it disrespectful to the bond with his beloved, he is protective, maybe overzealous on keeping them "safe"
𝙆𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙨: 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙙𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙖𝙘𝙩 𝙖𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙧 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜?
Affectionate, in different levels, but always sweet, maybe too much on the teasing side
𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨: 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙜𝙤 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙧 𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜?
He seeks to impress, he wants to prove himself worthy of his lover's admiration, there is an undertone of both adoration and ego on his part
𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙠: 𝘼𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙧𝙨 𝙙𝙧𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙙𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙖𝙘𝙩 𝙖𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙚𝙡𝙨𝙚?
He doesn't see his sneaking around as a mask, in his mind, he's just taking care of his partner by keeping them safe, and trying to reduce possible stressing or upsetting news, though he may gaslight if he's sure his actions will drive his partner away
𝙉𝙖𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙮: 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙥𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜?
As of today, date ██/██/█ no infected variant of the subject has shown to be prone or even have performed a punishment on their partner
𝙊𝙥𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣: 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜?
Only to freedom and socialization in the extreme case where he deems the world "too dangerous"
𝙋𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚: 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜?
Very patient and understanding of the less than ideal situation, as he is able to retain self awareness and (arguably) his sanity, stronger than average
𝙌𝙪𝙞𝙩: 𝙄𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙙𝙞𝙚𝙨, 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙨, 𝙤𝙧 𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙚𝙨𝙘𝙖𝙥𝙚𝙨, 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙗𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙤𝙣?
Depending on the circumstances of their death, he would either become lucid due to shock and possibly end his own life, or lash out his anger even more towards the outside world, (if he considers them responsible for their demise).
In the case they escaped, he continues to stalk and protect from the shadows
𝙍𝙚𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙩: 𝙒𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡 𝙜𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙩𝙮 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙖𝙗𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜? 𝙒𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙜𝙤?
Possibly one of the most guilt-riddled specimens
𝙎𝙩𝙞𝙜𝙢𝙖: 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙗𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 (𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙙, 𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙚𝙩𝙘)?
The lovesickness [temporary name] is an opportunistic pathogen that causes alterations in behavior, as well as other symptoms, like delusions, hallucinations, paranoia, anxiety, and the most prevalent one, intense feelings of "love" directed at their "target", this can manifest as a sense of possession, or need to incorporate/merge into their darling.
We have not been able to establish what triggers this illness, it seems to be triggered after certain traumatic or shocking events described as "canon event" [see document attached] but others simply appear without a clear catalyzer
𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙨: 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙙𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙨𝙚𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢, 𝙘𝙧𝙮, 𝙖𝙣𝙙/𝙤𝙧 𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙫𝙚𝙨?
He resents himself deeply for any distress caused to his target
𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙦𝙪𝙚: 𝙒𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙙𝙤 𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙙𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙘 𝙮𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙚?
As I have mentioned throughout the report, he is very self-aware, and his immune system seems to be very zealous when fighting the disease
𝙑𝙞𝙘𝙚: 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙞𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙚𝙨𝙘𝙖𝙥𝙚?
His sense of justice
𝙒𝙞𝙩’𝙨 𝙚𝙣𝙙: 𝙒𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜?
𝙓𝙤𝙖𝙣𝙤𝙣: 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙧 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜? 𝙏𝙤 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙝 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙜𝙤 𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧?
Possibly, however it's not ever his goal
He adores his darling as the very incarnation of hope, progress. He sees in them the potential and light he wants to save in this world, as the sickness progresses, he will change his mind to "wanting to protect them from the world"
𝙔𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣: 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙙𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙖𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙗𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙨𝙣𝙖𝙥?
The amount of time it takes for the lovesickness to set in, is unfortunately unknown yet
𝙕𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙝: 𝙒𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜?
No.

aghrhrjdj to the three people who read Primus I AM SO SORRY. I got very distracted with the bridge hug fanart that I neglected to work on the next chapter right after a (sort of ) cliffhanger! Rude of me. Am working on it now, meanwhile please accept these random facts about this bizarre convoluted world I’ve created.
- ‘Fourbounding’ is the term used for when apes propel themselves forward with their knuckles. This is considered low-class and regressive by the Coastals (and some of the higher ranking clans). ‘Knuckle-walker’ is a commonly used insult to refer to another perceived as slow-witted or uneducated.
- The apes speak a unique dialect of English with its own grammatical conventions, such as the lack of contractions and adverbs, as well as frequent article omissions. The use of sign language is regional; the preference for brevity in dialogue doesn’t come from a lack of understanding of complex language, but from the fact it is still physically difficult for apes to speak for long periods of time.
- All of Pacifica is in California. Eagle Clan (officially recognized as ‘Mining Clan’) is a valley in the Sierra Nevada. It’s important to note that the clans don’t necessarily originate in the areas that they currently reside in. When the Coastals sought to round up the ‘sundered’, they would’ve relocated them to the nearest natural resource that could be exploited. The borders were not so strictly defined before the Darkest Chapter (the rebellion). They are now fenced and sometimes patrolled.
- The Appia (aka the Pride of Pacifica) is named after the infamous Appian Way of Ancient Rome. It connects all the clans to the Coastal City, though inter-clan travel is barred save for officially sanctioned duties.
- The equivalent of a passenger train system is the ‘caravans’, salvaged Airstream campers pulled by mules and powered by rechargeable batteries. Each system has one car solely dedicated to preparing food and more than one dedicated to refueling supplies.
- The saltwater batteries are real! They can be made from the casings of regular batteries. They aren’t super efficient but are much less dangerous to manufacture.
- The radios are supplied (and required) by the state, but they’ve been altered to only pick a certain range/ frequency….hmm what was that beeping Mae noticed in chap 3 after Noa started screwing with the radio hghhdhhfhhhhphh.
- Proximus comes from a long line of divine-right rulers who claim not only to be descendants of Caesar but to embody him spiritually. Unlike the areligious Panem, Pacifica is highly faith/superstition based.
- The Coastal apes got into that vault at least a century prior the when the story takes place, hence why the society is much more technologically advanced than what we see in Kingdom.
- That mechanical looking water fountain mentioned in chap two is a clepsydra, or a ‘water clock’.
- In case you didn’t catch it, the dead echo that Noa encounters is the one Mae mentions committed suicide. He was a ‘breaker’, the strongest of the miners. Mae is a ‘fuser’, another class of miners who’s small size is utilized to place explosives in crowded tunnels.
AND some bonus character tidbits:
- Koro (Noa’s father) defeated an invading clan during the Darkest Chapter. The rebellion created a power vacuum that enabled some of the larger clans to overtake the smaller ones. Eagle Clan managed to stay neutral, not siding with the rebels (but they did attempt to enforce their sovereignty). Despite this, the Coastals perceived this defeat as a victory on their side and granted the House of Eagle Sun special privileges post-treaty-of-treason, though they are still subject to the same provisions as the ‘traitor’ clans. Koro is very troubled by his recognition as a war hero, especially since defeating said clan involved killing. He’s now dying of a curable disease called the ‘hectic’, hence all the coughing.
- Soona and Anaya are from a lower class than Noa’s family. As they age into adults this rift becomes more obvious (and uncomfortable). Noa recognizes the narrative transpiring between the two without him and this stirs some confusing feelings….(yeah I am on a soonaya kick they’re prolly gonna kiss on the mouth)
- Noa has dyspraxia. His clumsy-ness is alluded to in Kingdom but will become increasingly relevant in this story. From a young age he’s been prone to neurosis (the reoccurring nightmares, the desire to up and leave the clan) despite his relatively comfortable lifestyle. His emotional intelligence and empathy has allowed him to realize the full scope of the cruelty of the system he exists within, yet he has to actively resist these thoughts because he knows he’ll go mad. Sure hope this isn’t used against him…
- Raka’s partner has been dead for a long time, but Raka suppresses the urge to grow flanges by keeping a photograph of him by his side wherever he goes. He sleeps with it. :(
- Mae has secrets upon secrets. That’s all I gotta say there.

TAMMRPG World Introduction
The game itself- or at least the place called ‘existence’ is referred to as SUM. The ends of the world loop into each other, meaning you’ll end up on the opposite side upon sailing to the end of the ‘world map’.
There is rumors that there is bugs present in the map’s corners that allow players to ignore this looping function. Beyond the eyes of ‘Gods’ what could be hiding- freedom, or abandonment to hell?
World Map
Tumblr media
Toybox and Sugartart are separated mainly by the species which occupy their lands. These species…generally fit the land’s naming convention. The nation’a capitals exist in Kingdom Loolilou and Dolloft, respectively.
Golden Reel is more or less the same in this regard, but it also seems to play by it’s own laws of physics at times. Rubberose particularly is a standout exception to the rest of the world of SUM: A dazzling skyscraper city amidst a generally medieval fantasy world.
OOC Worldbuilding Below Cut
Fundamentals:
The world of SUM is inspired by the world of ISPY books, with certain themes such as megasized everyday objects being natural to the landscape. Most native fauna and flora follow this trend, with creatures such as the Gummy Wyrms (will put together beastiary entries eventually and link it here) and Sugarfloss Sheep.
Toybox has slightly more realistic flora/fauna, but they still resemble that of toys or other similar paraphernalia.
The NPCs canon to the show are canon here, and I will post introduction sheets for them once I have them complete.
‘Dungeons’ more or less spawn randomly about the map, with the implication of them being a separate, glitchier game world made by Ischariot. Despite the more dangerous monsters and mind-bending layouts, their treasures lead many Players and NPCs alike to wander them.
Abstractions more or less spawn naturally within Ischariot’s dungeons, rarely leaving. Legend says that they are the last remnants of the dying AI’s consciousness, but they more or less seem to be made up of broken models from elsewhere in the world.
That isn’t to say that player characters cannot abstract. It’s just referred to as being afflicted by Ischariot, or as some players call it, “ISC Disease.”
When a player character or NPC become deeply afflicted with madness, their health will begin to drain under the God’s influence- with their model breaking into a fractured mess upon ‘death.’
These Abstractions are much more dangerous to engage than those present in the dungeons, and have far more variety in their shape.
All NPCs have a sense of sentience to them, and behave in very similar manners to the Players. However, this is their only existence- and they don’t take kindly to Players who deny their reality.
More Questions on specifics? Send an ask and I can go into more detail- thank you!

Hi there!
Per my question to you, I'm cropping your name.
The link for those who were curious. It just takes you to this YouTube video where our... "favorite"... couple is at number 29!
youtube
Honestly.... most of those couples I wouldn't put to the list anyway.
What? Did I surprise you? Well, most of them haven't even hit ten years together!
Tom Holland and Zendaya? If we were to go by the length of time they were rumored to have been dating before they finally made it official, it's only been eight years.
I think the longest has to be....
Hmm. Well, Samuel L Jackson has been married 44 years. Ted Danson has been married 29 years. Kelly Ripa has been married about 28 years. Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have been together 41 years. I could go on....
But here's the thing. Kyra and Kevin? Look to be in love and happy together. Tracy is still staying by Michael's side as he battles his disease. Tom and Rita? They're doing great. We rarely hear any drama about Samuel or Angela.
Most of these celebrities, in fact, have good chemistry. Demonstrate affection, show it rather nicely without having to resort to public making out or anything like that.
Jensen and Danneel?
Let me put it this way, folks. I showed someone who is clueless to the Supernatural fandom but knew me personally. And I just showed them a still from Wales Comic Con and said "What do you think of those two right there?" I didn't want my feelings to influence them and I didn't want to bias them.
They took a look and shrugged. "Work acquaintances?" they hazarded.
Me: "No. Husband and wife."
Cue eyes popping out.
There's no chemistry there! No obvious draw of them being together. Not in photo ops, not on the red carpet. Definitely not the AD House Tour and the brewery interview.
In a lot of interviews and convention moments, Jensen made it more or less clear he doesn't love his wife. Danneel may call Jensen "the love of my life", but she has demonstrated zero proof of that.
Whoever compiled that video made a joke out of marriage and love just by putting the Ackles in it.

"A new World Health Organization (WHO) report highlights that 5.6 billion people – 71% of the world’s population – are now protected with at least one best practice policy to help save lives from deadly tobacco – five times more than in 2007.
[Note: Going by the math, that means just (roughly) 14% of people were covered by tobacco control policies in 2007. Talk about a huge increase!]
In the last 15 years since WHO’s MPOWER tobacco control measures were introduced globally, smoking rates have fallen. Without this decline there would be an estimated 300 million more smokers in the world today.
This WHO Report on the global tobacco epidemic, supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, is focused on protecting the public from second-hand smoke, highlighting that almost 40% of countries now have completely smoke-free indoor public places.
The report rates country progress in tobacco control and shows that two more countries, Mauritius and the Netherlands, have achieved best-practice level in all MPOWER measures, a feat that only Brazil and Türkiye had accomplished until now.
[Note: In late 2021, the former Turkey changed official its name to Türkiye, shedding the English/Anglicized spelling.]
“These data show that slowly but surely, more and more people are being protected from the harms of tobacco by WHO’s evidence-based best-practice policies,” said Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General...
Smoke-free public spaces is just one policy in the set of effective tobacco control measures, MPOWER, to help countries implement the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control and curb the tobacco epidemic.
Smoke-free environments help people breathe clean air, shield the public from deadly second-hand smoke, motivate people to quit, denormalize smoking and help prevent young people from ever starting to smoke or use e-cigarettes.
“While smoking rates have been going down, tobacco is still the leading cause of preventable death in the world – largely due to relentless marketing campaigns by the tobacco industry,” said Michael R. Bloomberg, WHO Global Ambassador for Noncommunicable Diseases and Injuries...
Eight countries are just one MPOWER policy away from joining the leaders in tobacco control: Ethiopia, Iran, Ireland, Jordan, Madagascar, Mexico, New Zealand, and Spain...
This report demonstrates that all countries irrespective of income levels can drive down the demand for deadly tobacco, achieve major wins for public health and save economies billions of dollars in health care and productivity costs."

Hcs off modern Castlevania chars? Like jobs/friends & stuff
Ask: Hcs off modern Castlevania chars? Like jobs/friends & stuff
A/N: In this, most people are living sort of happily ever after. Does that make them OOC, yes it does. Do I care? No, I don’t.
👷‍♂️ Modern-Day Castlevania Headcanons: Jobs 👩‍⚕️
I see Trevor as something of a detective/cop, but I don’t think he’d be down with working for the system. Being a P.I. or an independent security contractor of some sort would probably suit his personality better. He’s the cool kinda punk that strikes fear into the hearts of violent bigots but is also somehow seen as a safe adult to little kids. Which he doesn’t mind. He finds it useful that only those hiding something or guilty of something see him as a threat. He’s not the best with kids, but he’s nice enough to them. He was on his own a lot from a very young age- definitely a latch-key kid- so he feels a fair share of protectiveness when it comes to them.
Sypha strikes me as a natural protector/nurturer, so maybe a preschool/grade-school teacher or physical therapist? She loves learning and sharing that knowledge with others. I can absolutely see her leading workshops related to whatever it is she’s chosen to have a career in. And she’s great with everyone- adults, kids, seniors, animals- you name it, they love Sypha. (Except for assholes and Karens of course.)
Alucard is introverted by nature, and also a lifelong student like Sypha. He’s also the inheritor/keeper of his father’s money and his mother’s wisdom. For that reason, I see him as a History or Anthropology Professor- at the college level and above. Maybe even an eventual department head. He’s very serious, and doesn’t have the demeanor for working with children or amateurs; he wants to teach people who are just as committed as he is to what they’re learning. His whole life he feels like his purpose is greater than what it currently is, and because of that, he’s never quite content with the life he’s living. He feels like something or someone is missing from his journey.
I think the three of them would become friends eventually, but one like one of those friend groups that makes absolutely no sense to people outside it. Like, you wouldn’t expect a rough and tumble cop-hating anarchist, a feisty, yet kind-hearted physical therapist, and a tall skinny history academic to be besties, yet there they are.
Maybe they’d meet at a conference somewhere. Like a wellness convention/conference is taking place at Alucard’s college, Sypha’s a prominent speaker (ah! pun not intended) there, and Trevor’s company is providing extra security.
Maybe there’s some kind of snafu, and there’s like an assailant loose on campus or something. Trevor’s chasing the guy, but Alucard sees him coming and decides he’ll help out and head the bad guy off. But in the end, the two men are beaten to the quick by Sypha, who stops the guy in the most impressively timed frisbee toss they’ve ever seen. The two men insist on talking Sypha out for coffee- and getting to know her, because, let’s be honest, who wouldn't want to be friends with Sypha? The three of them get to talking and the rest is history.
Dracula is someone who just has power- he doesn’t have to amass it, it just naturally comes to him. He’s the type to gather fortune and invest it in a bunch of different properties and revolutionary pharmaceutical investment opportunities. He’s the Big Guy in the Chair. And then he just sort of, fucks off to his mansion to do whatever he wants. He’s a recluse- he deems human interaction pointless and unnecessary as a man of his stature. Who needs to leave the house when you can just pay people to do everything for you? He’d much rather be alone anyway. Of course that all changes when he meets Lisa.
Lisa, similar to her nature in the show, would be a physician of some sort. I could see her being especially interested in women’s medicine or infectious disease as it disproportionately affects those in need, and she has a very strong internal sense of justice. Maybe she seeks out Vlad because he’s the big cheese CEO of a pharmaceutical company that’s publicly refusing to lower the cost of a specific drug that would revolutionize her patients’ care. She’d find out where he lived, bang on his door, and demand he lower his profit margins right now. Of course, no one has ever had the balls to say such a thing to his face before, and Drac falls in love pretty much instantly.
The two of them are a power couple: he still maintains so much fortune and sway, but his partnership with Lisa makes him see ways to use it for good. He starts charities and fundraisers- he shocks the wealthy world by going rogue- and gives away most of what he earns instead of hoarding it. And it’s no secret it’s thanks to Lisa.
Now Hector: I know everyone headcanons Hector as being a veterinarian, but for me, I think it makes more sense for him to be a mortuary or a medical examiner. He’s lovely with his pets, but at the same time, I don’t think he has the stomach to do what vets have to do. Vets have to talk to owners and their families and be personable and bright. He sees his pets as possessions, not family members. So a job where it’s just him and no one else- no crying kid or elderly companion to reassure would be better suited for him.
Hector is naturally inquisitive- a trait we saw even when he was imprisoned, so I think being a medical examiner would be very rewarding to him. He’d find it invigorating, to get down the truth of a mysterious death or shocking murder. And because he’s not squeamish, he’d be very clear and articulate presenting information on the stand.
Issac’s big thing throughout the series is loyalty and personal growth. S2 Isacc and S4 Issac are very different people. So I’m basing this more on S4 Isaac. I think he’d benefit in a position of some power, but also of some charity. Maybe as a politician or a professional lobbyist. He advocates for causes he believes are just and does not shy away from verbal confrontation when it comes to hashing out right vs. wrong.
I could see this being the way he meets Vlad and Hector. If some sort of tragedy or panic happened, and a large emergency medical response was involved, I could see Isacc propositioning Dracula for donations, in exchange for dinner and a chance to sway his mind about a certain political vote. Hector would be on the other end of that tragedy, dealing with those who lost their lives. Perhaps Issac seeks out Hector as a form of outreach, to prove he is committed to what he says he stands for. He connects Hector with Dracula, and the three of them find they’re all rather pleasant company compared to the majority of the unremarkable humans out there. They can all look death in the face and feel no fear. They don’t do bullshit, and they get along well because of it.

Tess Finch-Lees: If parents don’t fight to protect children from Covid in schools, nobody else will - Published Sept 5, 2024

“It’s not your fault,” I told 16-year-old Cara, whose mother died of a SARS-CoV-2 infection she gave her. To be clear, the doctor confirmed Cara (not her real name) had passed on the virus and Covid was entered on the death certificate as the cause of death.
Cara’s mother had not been outside their home in the weeks preceding her death.
When masks were dropped in the “Omicron’s mild” phase of the pandemic, Cara continued as the lone masker at school to protect her immunocompromised mother, who was undergoing chemotherapy. It was tolerable until a child psychotherapist said on the national airwaves that some girls would continue to mask anyway “to hide their acne”.
His words were used to bully her. Cara left, but without support from teachers she struggled. Her parents pleaded with the school to use the Hepa filter they bought. The school refused.
Cara eventually returned to school unmasked, caught Covid and infected her mam. It killed her. Cara self-harms because she blames herself. She hasn’t been to school since.
Research shows that more than 70pc of Sars-CoV-2 transmission in households started with a child.
The incidence was highest during unmitigated in-person schooling. In a recent paper, Dr Pantea Javidan, of Stanford’s Centre for Human Rights, described the ways children’s rights to life, health and safety during the ongoing pandemic have been falsely rendered oppositional to education and development.
Methods used to manufacture consent to forcibly, repeatedly infect children, according to Dr Javidan, include minimising harms to children (“kids don’t get it or spread it”, “it’s mild”) and moral panic around mental health and educational attainment.
Regarding mental health, in August a study looking at paediatric psychiatric emergencies found school openings – not lockdowns – were associated with an increase in the number of emergency psychiatric visits.
In May, a study found that children with and without congenital heart defects showed increased risks for a variety of cardiovascular outcomes (including cardiac arrest, clots, palpitations) after Sars-CoV-2 infection.
In July, a study found that children and teenagers experienced cognitive impairment 12 months post-Covid infection, consistently correlated with poorer sleep and behavioural and emotional functioning.
Last month alone, several studies were published documenting Covid paediatric harms. One found that children and adolescents experience prolonged symptoms post-Sars-CoV-2 infection in almost every organ system.
Study co-author Professor Lawrence C Kleinman said: “We have convincing evidence that Covid is not just a mild, benign illness for children. This is a new chronic illness in children. We need to be prepared to deal with it for a generation.”
Another study analysing paediatric and adult hospitalisations found teenagers were at greatest risk of severe disease among all children. Yet another study showed compelling connections between viral infection and subsequent autoimmune disease. Early in the pandemic, some children showed negligible Covid symptoms, only to later develop organ failure.
Researchers found the children’s immune systems had latched on to a part of the coronavirus that closely resembles a protein found in the heart, lungs, kidneys, brain, skin, eyes and GI tract and launched a catastrophic attack on their own tissues. “Experts” who claimed asymptomatic paediatric Sars2 infections equals mild were catastrophically wrong.
Covid is consistently a leading cause of US child mortality. Paediatric mortality has increased markedly with each year of the pandemic in the US, UK and elsewhere. In 2022, over six times as many children died from Covid than from flu in the US.
The UN Convention on the Rights of a Child requires states to “recognise the right of the child to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health” and to fully implement this right. Children’s rights to education include a safe environment not harmful to their health.
Cara and her parents fought for these rights. They were denied, with devastating consequences. Irish schools are legally obliged to clean indoor air and prevent the spread of airborne diseases. Prevention plan? Three Hail Marys.
In year five of an airborne pandemic, parents, Dr Ciara Steele and Sinéad O’Brien set up Clean Air Advocacy Ireland.
Dr Steele said: “Children are vulnerable, they rely on adults to advocate on their behalf. They have a fundamental right to breathe clean, pathogen-free air in schools. That means CO2 monitors, Hepa filters and ventilation in every classroom.”
A recent study in Finland found air purifiers in day-cares led to a 30pc reduction in children’s illnesses. In March 2022, Italy’s Marche region installed mechanical ventilation in some schools, reducing Covid infections in classrooms by 82pc.
Education Minister Norma Foley previously committed €62m for Hepa filters in Irish schools. Where are they?
WHO advice is clear – protect yourself and loved ones from Covid. Stay home if sick, test, get boosted, ventilate, wear a mask when around others. Unless parents are prepared to say “We do not consent to repeatedly exposing our children to biohazardous Sars2 in schools”, our consent will be presumed tacit.
