Gotta Raise a Little Hell

Summary: Steve and Eddie go out to eat but

A/N: this was written for a discord specific Secret Santa but I wanted to share with you all too, also if you’ve read this before no you haven’t

It had started innocently enough, Steve had convinced Eddie to leave the apartment to go for breakfast or was it lunch? Eddie had been 'not hiding out' in his apartment for a while before Steve managed to talk him into leaving. 

In any case Steve had been getting hangry and while Eddie thought his angry face as adorable he had relented and agreed to leave the comfort of the apartment he and Wayne had gotten after … everything and venture out in search of food. 

It had been warm so Eddie hadn’t felt the need to wear a jacket over his faded cut up band tee, nor did he mind that Steve was baring his legs in a pair of what could only be described as Suburban Dad shorts, khaki and to the knee. All that was missing was the fanny pack. Eddie would admit, albeit privately, he had half hoped Steve would have worn those green athletic shorts. For purely selfish reasons.  

Steve admittedly wasn’t really paying much attention to the people around, far too concerned with where they were going to eat and what they could do after without it being obvious to anyone else that they were two men on a date. 

The busier the streets of Hawkins became the more aware Steve became of the looks and whispered comments from people passing by. At first he wondered if perhaps he or Eddie  had stepped in something or he had toilet paper sticking to his shoes, but then he heard someone say something not quite under their breath about how ‘disgraceful’ it was that ‘certain people’ were allowed to walk around like ‘good ordinary people’ and he knew they didn’t mean him,

“Say it again” Steve snapped, whirling around to face the man, “say it again” 

“Whoa, Steve, it’s cool man. Let’s just go, yeah?” Eddie stepped in and put his hand on Steve's shoulder, “just, leave it” 

“No! I will not just ‘leave it’ not after what this idiot said!” Steve glared at the man in question and prodded him with his finger, “do you have any idea who this guy is? What he went through for this town?"

“Sure, he 'went through' a lot, or that's what he wants you to think"  the man scoffed, “I read the paper, I know all about what Juniour here 'went through' but what about that poor Cunningham girl? What was she even doing with a degenerate like that? The apple doesn't fall far from the tree you know" 

Steve saw red. He was sick and tired of the people in this town and their small minded attitudes. He'd been on both sides of the conversation enough to know exactly what people talked about behind closed doors and he didn't think the good people of Hawkins would be so high and mighty if they knew what their neighbours really got up to. Or if they really knew what caused the 'gas leaks' and 'earthquakes' in town.

He was about to say something else, to really put this guy in his place when Eddie put a hand on his shoulder,

“Steve don’t, come on” Eddie tried again with a smile, “leave this guy alone, he isn’t worth it” 

Steve looked at Eddie's pleading face and thought seriously for a moment about just walking on and letting this small minded asshole to Karma but then the man couldn't help but open his fat mouth again,

"All you Munsons are the same. Your Uncle pretends he's not but we all know the Munson gene is toxic, it's all a matter of time before he's behind bars where you all belong" 

Steve whirled around with fury on his face but before he could say or indeed do anything he'd have to ask Hopper to pardon him for later Eddie stepped in. Grabbing a handful of Steve's shirt he began dragging him away from the asshole in the street,

"Eddie let go of me" Steve protested, trying to free himself from Eddie's grip

“No can do sweetheart” he laughed, “you can wiggle all you like but I have years of experience carrying hot heads away from fights” 

“I wasn’t gonna fight him!” Steve objected, “I was just gonna talk to him” 

“Uh huh sure. Try again, maybe I’ll believe the next white lie” Eddie was still laughing as he continued leading Steve towards the diner, “you wanted to go out to eat so that’s what we’re doing. You can fight someone on the way back”

"I wasn't gonna fight anybody!" Steve protested again, he totally wasn't. He was only going to give the guy a warning, with his fist, one time. 

"Uh huh, totally believe you Stevie" Eddie rolled his eyes and Steve scowled,

“Asshole” 

“You know you love me” 

It was true. Steve did. Which is why it pained him so much to have people make those kinds of comments about Eddie and stare at him when he walked down the street. It never seemed to faze him though no matter what was said or how long someone stared. Eddie would always brush it off and say he was just used to it after a lifetime of living in his Dad's shadow.

Of course if anyone insulted Steve, well that was a different story. Also a double standard but Eddie wasn’t going to dwell on that when he knew the entire party would have his back if anything did go down. No one was gonna insult Steve on his watch. 

For now though, there were more important things to think about. Like what they were serving in the diner and how soon could Eddie rid Steve of his Dad Shorts when they got back to the apartment. Let the people of Hawkins think and say what they like, Eddie had better things to occupy his thoughts.

Dracula Fandom's Own Secret Santa

I've been sitting on this idea for a while and I think it's finally time for us to have our own Secret Santa game this winter! No matter if you celebrate Christmas or not, I am calling all Dracula enthusiasts to create a wonderful gift for another lovely gift in return.

Here's how the game works: firstly with this post I will see around how many people will be interested in participating, and if it's worth going forwards. Then, we move onto the form where you let us know what you can bring to the game (fanfic, fanart, voice acting, video, etc), and what you would like to receive in return (same contents).

I will be making a discord server to keep everyone in contact and to announce dates etc. (discord will be needed, though I will be setting dates here on Tumblr too.)

Around the middle of November you will receive the username of the person you are making a gift for, and what they're interested in, and the gift will be wanting to be finished around the 25th December, though it will likely be after Christmas day (maybe early January). Fanfic is to be posted on ao3 and gifted to the person or on Tumblr with tagging them. Everything else on Tumblr with tags.

And that's that! Let me know in the comments if you are interested in participating so I can get an idea of the numbers. Reblogs wanted!! Thank you! :3

Secret Santa gift for @kathairoette who requested something spoopy/eldritch horror puzzleshipping.

The Myutant archetype is one of my favourites in Yugioh especially Myutant Beast, so here is little extraterrestrial horror Yugi making its way out of the facility changing and growing with the environment around, and becoming fond of the human that has helped it escape (aka 'accidentally' intentionally broke the sad lil creature out of its tube and was not prepared for how big it got lmao)
