A significant (at least more than i expected) number of my mutuals seem to have special interests regarding bugs, including myself, i suppose. I wonder whats up with that
@teamsieben @grasshoppers-only @aroarachnid would you guys rather be transformers but with our favorite bugs instead of cars or power rangers in our bugs’ colors. And. Should i draw this
If anyone else i might’ve not known/forgotten likes bugs wants to join bug team let me know, the more the merrier

"I don't think it even knows we're here."
"Is it venomous?"
"I've lived under a rock most of my life, I wouldn't know."
...
"Do you think I could pick it up?"
"That doesn't sound safe."
"Hah, I'd like to see it try to hurt me."
...
...
"You know, I always thought you were a bit like a snake."
"I don't know, actually."
"You're a RainWing. Venomous teeth, slithery tail, and you move a bit like one. And you're dangerous and awesome and blazing, too."
...
"A cool snake, though. Not this one."
"Yeah, this guy's pretty lame, isn't he?"
...
"...What do you think he's do—moons, this is disgusting—hey! Stop laughing!—"

Galactic Jungle worldbuilding + sneeze girl fanart 🫰
Residents of the Galactic Jungle are among the most educated Raposa on the planet, but they're also some of the most compassionate and caring. When their mayor passed away and Click had to take responsibility until a new mayor could be elected, the residents were extremely understanding of his anxieties surrounding the position. His various eccentricities and odd new regulations seemed forgivable, given the situation. This sort of snowballed over the course of 20 years, where Click became more nervous and worried for his friends and neighbors, and the residents pretended to follow his rules to assuage his fears until it was kinda too late to say anything without it being really awkward.
The puppet council and their extremely pedantic rules are strange and frightening to visitors, but residents don't mind much because none of them actually follow the rules. At least, they don't follow them when Click's not around. They're all supposed to be living safe, comfortable lives, but instead they're keeping the community running by performing jobs that one Raposa couldn't reasonably be asked to do alone.
Kamalah handles trade with other Raposa settlements (mostly with Lavasteam and the Snow Fields) and general communications technology. When she disappears after the sneezing incident, it's because Click is convinced she's about to die from some contagious disease and is trying to get her to rest.
The player's intervention in the Galactic Jungle gives the residents the perfect opportunity to tell Click hey, we actually knew the council was fake all along and we didn't wanna say anything because we were worried about you. And they all make up and say haha wasn't that wild. And life moves on.

Prisoner @justzosiahere, back again for trial 2!
Status: Named unforgiven in the first trial, admitting to her own guilt during her vote. As a later prisoner in the lineup, she was able to encourage attacks both on and by the guilty prisoners (flamethrowers were mentioned more than once...) This timing also allowed her to temporarily avoid getting attacked herself.
Additional Crimes Revealed: Plotting and extending her angsty Milgram the Conspiracy au -- character development details, art, and peeks at the physical/emotional pain they going through teased in the chat. Is the crime the angst? Or the suspense? Maybe it's both!

Sometimes I wish I could drive home just how little of Chinese fandom culture actually makes it onto Tumblr at all, much less circulates in western Tumblr circles, and I've finally got a solid example.
On this list I reblogged a not long ago, Poyun, which I started reading on Bilibili the other day, has the 93rd most popular ship on all of Lofter, with over 15,000 posts. By comparison, the 93rd most popular ship of that same year (2020) on Tumblr was from Haikyuu, and from 2021 the 93rd most popular was from Miraculous Lady Bug - which is to say, even if you're not into, it's a fandom you've almost certainly heard of if you move in fandom circles at all. Like, those are two fandoms with known, huge followings. Likewise, Yan Xie/Jiang Ting is a big deal ship on Lofter.
I started reading the manhua a few days ago, so I know I'm gonna be posting some of the manhua art to @cnovelartreblogs so I was like, I should check the main tags and queue the art (even if it means I might be exposed to spoilers), and then I won't accidentally duplicate other people's art posting efforts or anything.
Now, granted, I've seen some evidence that tag search is more broken than usual the last few days, but even so...
#po yun: there are maybe 30 posts in "most popular"
#破云: there are maybe 20 posts in "most popular," and they're basically all the same (as in, people tagged both)
#poyun: about the same number, and the only 3 pieces of fanart I can find on the whole platform (@drawulan you don't know me but you are a BLESSING to C-Novel fandoms with small followings on Tumblr. A BLESSING, YOU HEAR? I LOVE YOUR ART.)
Y'all, we have no idea how little we actually know and see about what's popular in Chinese fandom.

re: your poetry post, can you give some pointers as to where to learn the rhyming patterns in poetry and the like? i only ever see poetry from the ideas/feelings perspective, but ive never learned the logic and structure behind it lol
I've learned most of it from my literature and grammar classes, it's taught in our school since elementary, so I wouldn't know of any books or manuals that talk specifially about it - but I can give you a rundown of how I do it, anon, if it counts for anything lol
Prefacing that this will be starting from italian poetica because that's what I know best: any poem, but specifically the pre-futurism/1910s ones (A Lot) will have some kind of structure aside from just the ryming scheme; The structure I am most familiar with is accentual-sillabic, so for example any single verso will have its stressed syllable in a fixed potision and occasionally a set number of sillables (eg. an endecasillablic metre means a stress on the tenth syllable, usually penultimate, equally to 11 total syllables), but there are also only accentual, or only sillabic verses, common in French poetry (?), all of which count as types of qualitative metre - as well as quantitative metre, which was more widley used in Latin and Greek poetry and which rather based itself on patterns of syllable weight (something that I know little about tbh; I think it's based on the lenght of pronunciation of the actual syllable).
this, of course, goes without even mentioning free-verse structure and less well-known ones.
Going back to the rhyming scheme, that also comes into play with structure in the sense that ... there are just a lot of them to pick from. The classic is the repeated AABB one, where each verse will rhyme with the one underneath (''kissing rhyme'' in italian), or the alterning ABAB, the crossed ABBA, the 'chained' or third rhyme ABA BCB CDC used for terzine, and plenty more! That's not all the ways to classify rhymes of course: you have plain rhyme between words accented on the penultimate syllable, cut rhyme between words accented on the last, sdrucciola with accents on the third-to-last, bisdrucciola on the fourth-to-last... etc etc
Then, of course, come the classifications in stanza lenghts! Groups of three verses are a terzina, well known for being Dante's favourite number (joke inserted to lighten this infodump), groups of four a quatrina, etc -
and depending on the number of single groups and on the type of verses in them, you have further classification as canzone, ode, madrigale, carme, filastrocca, ballata, sonetto... the latter for example is made of fourteen endecasyllabic verses grouped in two quartine, one in the beginning and one in the end, in crossed or alternate rhyme, and two terzine with any kind of rhyme structre.
this of course doesn't touch on the inner things and games of poem structure like the falling rhyme, spaces in between groups, enjambement, alliteration, allegorical figures, anafore, onomatopee, and all that fun stuff! Essentially when you see a poem look for the number of syllables in each verse, where the stressed syllable falls, how the rhymes are put, how many verses are in each stanza and strofa...

AHHHHHH ASPEN AND AQUA!!! ¡¡¡¡¡THE COUPLE!!!!!!
WAAHHHHHH THEY’RE SO CUTEEEEEEEE! I should have posted this on Pride Month… but… I didn’t come up with this until yesterday… but ASPEN AND AQUA SHIP ART… here you go! My July project! And it only took…
… two days?!?!?!
Good art DOESN’T have to take a month to produce? Wow. Though… this is pretty simple. I didn’t do shading because I actually kinda like the no shade look here.
These two are made for each other… land and sea are good together, you know? Well, more plants and water.
Though… my only criticism is that it’s a bit stiff. You know, it just feels like there’s not enough motion…
Inspo and life updates below!
This is blatantly inspired by Lake Street Dive’s album Bad Self Portraits, more specifically Rental Love. I like BSP, good album. I think it’s Aspen-core because it reminds me of the 20s and 30s for some reason, which is what inspired Aspen’s dress style, both male and female. I like drawing Aspen in his dress… god I love my little guys…
Anyway, the song that actually prompted me to draw this was What About Me, because that song specifically made me think Aspen. I am obsessed with Lake Street Dive rn… if I knew anatomy I would draw so much fanart…
So, in general? Life is okay. Finally exited artist block after I got some advice from a fellow tumblr (thank you nyanbinary-87) and it kinda motivated me to do art again. Still can’t study tho. It’s a whole thing. *sigh*
Also… follow me on twitch please! If you want, ofc. I try to stream once a week, but my schedule is… difficult. Right now, I’m playin’ OneShot! Such a good game… but I will die of a heart attack on stream. Also I will NEVER play that game at night. I’m a coward.
Good night y’all.
Oh, and PLEASE GOD LET PHILIPPINES WIN ANOTHER GOLD MEDAL AT THE OLYMPICS PLEASSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

idk man maybe i just dont get it because my work was never marketable or polished or universally understandable enough to begin with so i dont feel particularly threatened and to declare a potential death of art is to me a horribly reductive notion that severely underplays what art (and, if you wanna specify, digital art) is beyond pixels you see on the screen and why people want to interact with it, and why capitalism has been screwing with art and artists for centuries. anyway dont feed the AI, dont feed the AI, dont feed the AI and just keep doing your thing, unbothered
