Time Travel Question : Murder and Disappearances Redux
I periodically get new Death and disappearance Items. (Also ones I can't remember if we did in the 2023 poll). Since we have enough to make a poll, I'm reviving it here.
A lot of the big famous ones like Jack the Ripper, we covered in 2023. If your fave doesn't go this time, odds are it was one I remembered we already did.
As long as there is a reasonable mystery such as cause of death, reasons for murder, where they went, etc., it counts.
I will not do ones that are 21st century, because it makes me feel creepy and ghoulish. I will not do ones that are credibly definitively solved.
I refuse to do JFK. I have my reasons.

OH MY GOD WAIT.
I've been thinking all night about qMike's absolutely insane behavior on the streams earlier, trying to figure out what the hell is going on with him. Because it doesn't feel like the pills, and it doesn't feel quite like a Federation brainwashing, and it doesn't feel like it's just trauma—so then what can it be?
And qMike himself is clearly still in there—him crying out when Pac went AFK/mentioned killing the eggs, his quiet reaction when Pac explained their disappearance, the way he apologized to Fit...our guy is still in there. So what is going on?
Somehow, my brain ended up on qQuackity, and the weirdness going on with him, because we don't know shit about that, either.
And then it hit me.
Both Quackity and Mike abruptly and unexpectedly fell into a dark hole with water at the bottom, and the walls of these tunnels were made with black concrete.
The only visible difference between Quackity and Mike is that Mike was rescued a lot faster than Quackity was.
What if whatever was done/being done to Quackity...is also what was done/is being done to Mike?
ElQuackity and Mike both keep talking about killing the eggs. Both of them were...frozen? question mark? What other similarities are going to crop up—?
And who is doing this to them???

The Mystery of Amelia Earhart: The Disappearance That Shook the World
It was June 1, 1937, when Amelia Earhart, the fearless aviation pioneer, boarded her Lockheed Electra at Oakland Airport, California. As she soared into the sky, her heart raced with the excitement of the adventure ahead. She was about to embark on one of the most daring challenges in aviation history—circumnavigating the globe along the equator. This mission would cement her name as one of the greatest explorers in history.
Tumblr media
“Amelia, are you sure this is a good idea?” Fred Noonan, her navigator, asked as they climbed into the cockpit. He was a veteran aviator, but even he knew this was not going to be an easy journey. He felt something in the air—an unease that no one could explain.
“Fred, every great journey begins with the first step. And this is one I need to take.” Amelia’s eyes shone with determination. She had a dream, and nothing would stop her from chasing it.
Tumblr media
Throughout their journey, Amelia and Fred shared their hopes and fears. Their conversations were full of passion—discussions about aviation history, their plans for the future, and the uncertainties that crept in every hour of the flight. But even they couldn’t have known how close they were to the event that would forever change history.
“You know, Fred, sometimes I feel like we're just tiny dots on a massive map, and no one will ever know our names.” Amelia gazed out at the ocean, the vast expanse before them.
“Don’t worry, Amelia. We’re on course. We don’t need to be seen on the maps to know where we’re headed.” Fred tried to reassure her, but he knew the vastness of the ocean loomed ahead—a force neither of them could fully comprehend.

July 2, 1937: The Last Message
“We are on course 157-337, we cannot find Howland Island...” These were the final words received from Amelia Earhart’s plane. Just 20 minutes later, communication went silent.
An unprecedented search and rescue mission began immediately after the loss of contact, drawing enormous resources and manpower. Hours turned into days, days into weeks. The Pacific Ocean was scoured by hundreds of aircraft, ships, and soldiers, but nothing was found. The Pacific had swallowed them whole, leaving no trace.
“What happened? Where are they?” People around the world asked, their hearts heavy with the loss. This wasn’t just the disappearance of a plane—it was something bigger, something that would change the course of history. Amelia’s disappearance became a symbol of the unknown, the unexplained. A mystery that remained unsolved, casting a long shadow over those who sought answers.
Amelia and Fred were not just aviators; they were heroes, pioneers of the air, pushing the boundaries of what was possible. Their disappearance marked the beginning of a legacy filled with questions. What happened to them?
Theories and Speculations
Over the years, many theories have been proposed about what happened to Amelia and Fred. One theory suggested that they simply veered off course, ran out of fuel, and crashed into the ocean. Others speculated that they were captured by unknown forces, possibly Japanese soldiers operating in the Pacific at the time. Still, some believed Amelia may have survived, living in isolation on an uninhabited island for years.
In 2024, the company Deep Sea Vision claimed to have found an object on the ocean floor using advanced sonar technology. Some hoped it might be the wreckage of Amelia's plane. However, further investigation revealed that it was just a natural rock formation—another fleeting hope dashed to the ground.
Amelia Earhart became a legend. Her disappearance didn’t just shock the world—it inspired generations. Not just as a pioneering aviator but as a symbol of courage, determination, and the relentless pursuit of dreams.

Amelia Earhart's Last Words
“We are on course 157-337, we cannot find Howland Island...” These words, filled with anxiety and hope, are still remembered as Amelia’s final transmission. These final words remain engraved in history, unanswered, leaving us to wonder what happened to this brave woman and her navigator.
But Amelia and Fred disappeared, and their mystery became a part of the larger story, one that continues to unfold, even now, almost 90 years later.
"What happened to them?" A question that remains unanswered. Perhaps we will never know. But Amelia’s story, her disappearance, will continue to captivate us, drawing us into its dark, unsolved abyss.

Jensen Ackles, John Dennis Johnston, Ken Kirzinger, and Alexia Fast in Supernatural (2005) The Benders
S1E15
After hearing in 'smallville' Hibbing, while masquerading as Minnesota state police, a boy's story about a monster probably was inspired by a Godzilla movie, Sam points out the county was marked by dad as suspicious and has the state's highest ratio of disappearances, but Dean just wants to relax, at least till the morning, until Sam disappears on the parking lot. Dean teams up with local police woman Kathleen, who even after finding out they impersonated cops decides not to arrest him before Sam is found, because her own brother also disappeared years earlier. Their search reaches the large, lonely house where a sinister human family keeps Sam and others in cages, and their intentions at least are monstrous...
*Dean Winchester: Well, I'll say it again. Demons I get. People are crazy.

Why is no one watching "Argentina, 1985"?
Is it banned yet?
You know, it's a funny thing, how savagely cruel juntas can bar you from seeing the kind of atrocities they're capable of, and get away with murder and torture.
And you think it can't happen here.

Time Travel Question 30: Murder and
Disappearance Edition III
Given that Roanoke and the Dyatlov Pass Incident are credibly solved, though not 100% provable, I'm leaving them out in favor of things more mysterious. I almost left out Amelia Earhart from a previous edition, but the evidence there is sketchier.
No, I'm not doing JFK. I refuse.
Please add new suggestions below, if you have them, for future consideration.

Fit: "You didn't see this yesterday?" Tubbo: "Why would I have seen this yesterday?!" Fit: "Well, it wasn't there Saturday!" Tubbo: "Well, I'm sorry if I was a bit preoccupied talking to Phil about his weird-ass dreams!" Fit: "Wait, Phil is back?!" Pac: "WAIT, PHIL WAS MISSING?!"

Badun Detective Agency Random Headcanon number 1;
The B.D.A doesn't just document the dead and the missing.
They document the living too and have ever since they realized just how much they didn't know about the victims they were documenting.
Sometimes they just write down things they observe.
And others, people hand them the information.
They made a template (that i can make if anyone is interested) for it that is taped to their treehouse.
If you turn it in, they'll file it and never mention it to anyone.
It's not for blackmail but so nobody else on the isle is forgotten (because no one knows how many people may have already been forgotten by the time they were born or by the time they founded the agency).
It is also filed separately from the B.D.A missing person cases, death reports, Getting to know the dead files, pet files, and incident report files.
