Eddie Schmidt & Ozzie Medeiros of Table 26 Palm Beach: Big Hearts, Generous Souls

Eddie Schmidt and Ozzie Medeiros, co-owners of Table 26, believe that serving the community as restaurateurs means more than providing delicious food. Almost as soon as they started Table 26, nearly five years ago, the dynamic duo launched a program to give back to the community they love so much.

Started in 2012, the ‘Dine for a Cause’ series helps to raise both money and awareness for local non-profit organizations. During the summer months, the restaurant invites community members to join them for three-course prix fixe dinners complete with wine, friends and fun. Last summer, Table 26 raised more than $120,000 for participating non-profits, including Palm Beach Opera, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center, Place of Hope and others.

The series, which takes guests on a trip around the world showcasing various types of wines, will kick off on July 17 with Failla Wines from Napa, California. The dinner, starting at 6:30pm, will benefit local crisis hotline 211 of the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast. A charitable organization close to their hearts, both Eddie & Ozzie are board members for the much-needed local organization and co-chaired the spring gala in Palm Beach this past March.

On August 21, the second dinner in the series will transport guests to Spain with Old World wines from Marques de Murrieta to benefit Meals on Wheels of the Palm Beaches. 

A final dinner on October 2 will feature Italian wines by G. D. Vajra; glasses will be raised to the wonderful work of The Lords Place.

To date, Table 26 and their committed staff have raised $435,000 for local charities through 25 Dine for a Cause wine dinners. 

Table 26 Executive Chef Amit Jain and Chef Colin Lichtfuss have worked hard to create menus to pair each wine series to perfection.
