MTT assay
“A 96-well microtiter plate used in an MTT assay. Each column was incubated with different amounts of culture cells, increasing from 500 cells in column 2 (left) to 100.000 cells in column 11 (right), for 72 hours. After a short incubation with MTT, the purple formazan product was extracted using Dimethyl sulfoxide. As can be seen, higher amounts of cells result in higher formazan production and thus a stronger purple colour.” - via Wikimedia Commons

Story at-a-glance
Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), a forgotten gem from the 1960s, effectively treats a broad spectrum of conditions, including strokes, tissue injuries, autoimmune inflammation, a myriad of skin diseases, and many challenging infections
One of the least-known benefits of DMSO is that it also eliminates cancers (especially when combined with another therapy) and protects the body from damage created by conventional cancer therapies
In dozens of experiments, DMSO has been shown to prevent the damage radiation does to cells, animals, and humans and to heal existing radiation injuries — something relevant not only to cancer patients but also to those receiving CT scans
DMSO effectively prevents many of the illnesses and complications that follow chemotherapy. Likewise, it also protects patients from accidental chemotherapy injuries where the medication leaks into the tissue
DMSO heals surgical wounds (which prevents many complications from cancer surgeries) and significantly extends the survival of patients whose tumors were surgically removed

Some believe you have to either peaceful protest or direct aggressive action. I don’t think people realize that you don’t have to throw a Molotov or a brick. Doing so could also result in putting the lives of peaceful protesters in danger. Hell times have changed and there are so many cameras everywhere that the risk becomes very burdensome. Now I’m not saying do nothing. Just be smarter.
sabotage is a great option too. The Dead Kennedys have a song called DMSO that tells a tale of how to fight back with less risk of incarceration.
DMSO or dimethyl sulfoxide is a gel that you can rub on your skin that aids in absorbing ointments and drugs upon contact.
Mix it with lemon juice and it will smell like lemons
Mix that with some high powered open-your-mind drugs.
Think of the possibilities of incapacitation. You don’t even have to get close.
Billionaires tend to have a lot of “help” around their house. People to cook and clean, wash their clothes, serve and clean their dishes, shine their golden toilet seats. They go out a lot to fancy dining where there are waiters, cooks, bartenders.
lsd can look like water, it dries white and can be activated through sweat. A little goes a long way and a lot has everlasting effects.
This is just one example and I think there are people that are a lot more creative than me. We just need to think outside the box and apply a bit of American ingenuity.
For inspiration check out Getting Even by Hayduke. It’s a bit dated and needs a revamp but it’ll get you thinking in the right headspace.

Conrad Sadik, Chapter 14 on AO3
Conrad Sadik (14801 words) by laridian
Chapters: 14/?
Fandom: The Outer Worlds (Video Game)
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Conrad Sadik, The Captain (The Outer Worlds), Parvati Holcomb, Maximillian DeSoto, ADA (The Outer Worlds)

Summary of Chapter 14: It's time to get the dimethyl sulfoxide!
The facility itself creeped him out. They were experimenting on humans here. Conrad had never given that subject much thought at all. Scientists did science stuff far away from wherever he’d been, that was all there was to it. This place was fascinating in the same way that a horror story was. This wasn’t a good thing, in Conrad’s eyes.

Hi! I saw your video on YouTube about when you were giving your female starling some medication for her leg. My starling has had the same type of problem and no medication has helped. I was wondering if you’ve had any luck getting rid of the lump?
The leg bumps are a perplexing problem for captive starlings, and despite decades of captive starling care I don't believe anyone has figured out exactly why. There's quite a few proposed causes but the leading theory I believe is impacts with hard surfaces like hardwood that they wouldn't normally encounter in the wild.
Bowie's legs, before and after treatment respectively:
After treatment Bowie's leg bumps did become smaller and less prominent and no longer seemed inflamed/bothered her. There is still some residual bumpiness there but you can definitely see an improvement, and it no longer seems to be an irritant to her.
What I used was dimethyl sulfoxide, or DMSO, diluted 1:9 DMSO to water. DMSO is a solvent sometimes used topically to treat inflammation in various animals. It was recommended to me by my avian vet who has decades of experience, and I trust his judgement, but your mileage may vary. DMSO is approved by the FDA for treatment in dogs and horses for topical inflammation treatment. That being said, please conduct your own research and consult your avian vet before purchasing DMSO and treating your pet with it. I don't have the spoons to really dive deep into the literature right now, so I'm trusting my avian vet knows what he's talking about. Here's a bit more info on its use in dogs and horses if you're curious.
Also, unless your bird is actively picking at the bumps, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Bowie got DMSO treatment because the inflammation was bothering her. It's completely fine to leave them if they aren't causing irritation.
Hope this helps!

Uses of DMSO in Animals
Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) has several applications in veterinary medicine due to its unique properties, such as its ability to penetrate tissues and act as an anti-inflammatory and analgesic agent. Here are the primary uses of DMSO in animals:
1. Anti-inflammatory Treatment
Applications: DMSO is often used topically to reduce swelling and inflammation in animals, particularly in conditions affecting joints, muscles, and tendons.
Examples:
Treating sprains, strains, and soft-tissue injuries in horses.
Managing arthritis and laminitis in livestock.
2. Carrier for Other Medications
Role: DMSO facilitates the absorption of drugs through the skin and mucous membranes, acting as a drug carrier.
Applications: It is used to deliver antibiotics, steroids, or other drugs directly to the affected site.
3. Pain Relief
Mechanism: DMSO has analgesic properties, helping to alleviate pain caused by injuries or chronic conditions.
Applications: Commonly used in horses for musculoskeletal pain relief.
4. Treatment of Neurological Conditions
Applications: DMSO is used in cases of head or spinal trauma to reduce inflammation and edema in the central nervous system.
Example: Managing cerebrospinal fluid pressure in horses and dogs.
5. Antimicrobial and Antifungal Agent
Uses: DMSO possesses mild antimicrobial properties and is occasionally used to manage infections.
Example: Treating fungal or bacterial skin conditions in animals.
6. Cryopreservation
Role: DMSO is used as a cryoprotectant to preserve cells, tissues, and embryos during freezing.
Applications: In animal breeding programs, particularly for preserving sperm and embryos.
7. Treatment of Specific Conditions
Bladder Inflammation (Cystitis): Used as an intravesical treatment for interstitial cystitis in dogs and cats.
Foot Rot: Occasionally applied to manage foot rot and similar conditions in livestock.
Precautions When Using DMSO
Tissue Irritation: May cause skin irritation or burning if applied excessively.
Odor: It has a strong garlic-like smell, which some animals may find unpleasant.
Systemic Absorption: Because DMSO can carry substances through the skin, only pure and safe compounds should be used with it.
DMSO is most commonly used in veterinary medicine for large animals like horses and livestock, but it is also utilized in smaller animals under controlled veterinary guidance.
