Fairy Tail Rare Pairs Week 2022- Day 5: Wish

For the At the Beach event, I’m gonna do something a little different and request Brandish x Dimaria as a couple taking a vacation at the beach, which is the real reason why Brandish was around Lucy and the others during the 2nd volume of 100 Years Quest.

Oooh, Brandish and Dimaria! I was wondering when you'd ask me to write them, considering the affinity you have for them. :)

Bliss

Brandish stretched out on her towel with a quiet sigh, laying her head on her arms and closing her eyes. The sun spilled down from the azure sky, warming her bikini-clad body with its serene rays. The gentle melody of the ocean waves crashed in her ears, and the salt spray dancing on the breeze kissed her skin. Bliss. It was utter bliss. 

“Brandish! Stop being so lazy and come play with me!” 

Brandish lifted her head just in time to feel gritty sand splash all over her face. She opened her eyes, eyelashes fluttering to dislodge the little grains from them. Her lips turned down into a firm frown, quite contrasting to the mischievous grin painting Dimaria’s face as she stood over the girl lounging on the towel. 

“We came to the beach to have a relaxing vacation,” Brandish sniffed. She rolled onto her side, using her hand to gently wipe the sand from her face without getting it in her eyes. That wouldn’t be very pleasant and relaxing at all. 

“Brandiiiiish!” Dimaria whined loudly. She poked her lips out in a childish pout. “You laid on the beach all day yesterday! I’m bored! I wanna play in the water!” 

Brandish heaved a sigh. However, she couldn’t necessarily blame Dimaria for her neediness. They had only just started their relationship, after all, and were very much in that honeymoon period of affections. However, Dimaria was much clingier than Brandish was, for better or for worse. They had traveled together for a beach getaway, needing some good stress relief after the disastrous battle with Fairy Tail. Honestly, Brandish just wanted to be boneless and tan on the beach all day. However, when she looked at her girlfriend’s cute pouting face again, she couldn’t help the flutter of affection that her heart gave. 

“Oh, all right,” she consented. Dimaria squealed, clapping her hands and jumping up and down as Brandish languidly rose from her towel. “I was getting a little hot, anyway.” When she presented her hand for Dimaria to take, the other woman did so gladly, intertwining their fingers. 

Brandish and Dimaria had never seen eye-to-eye, but in the aftermath of their lives changing as they knew it, they had found common ground. The bittersweet feelings of their friendship before had grown into something new, and now here they were, holding hands as they walked upon a beautiful beach. Brandish found a sweet smile spreading across her face. 

“What is it?” Dimaria asked in the middle of leaning down to pick up her shell--a scallop shell. 

“Nothing,” Brandish hummed. She leaned down to press a lingering kiss to Dimaria’s cheek, and she delighted in the heat that rose to the skin and warmed the flesh of her lips. “I am just so happy to be here with you,” she murmured against her skin. 

Bliss. It was utter bliss.
