 Merlin started to lead his and Arthur’s horses to the stables, but the latter’s head turned to see Anthony joining him.

“So we’ll get the supplies out of the saddles,” he started, when Arthur called—

Uther’s voice overlapped his. “Anthony.”

Merlin and Anthony stopped with their horses. Merlin bowed his head and Anthony at the waist. “Majesty?”

Uther’s head leaned to the side, bidding him to follow. “Walk with me. Arthur, join us.”

Merlin and Arthur looked at each other, and then Merlin and Anthony did the same. He pressed his lips together, apologetic as he handed Merlin the reins of a third horse to manage.
