Yamato - Mimi
Title - But daddy I love him
- for the 5 lines fic 🥺
Thank you 💚🩵💚🩵
Omg I bet this is not what you expected with that dialogue, but once again I live to disappoint surprise! And yeah, just like all the others, this is not 5 sentences, I have no control when it comes to OTPs 🥹
~~~
“But, daddy I love him-”
Yamato rolled his eyes as the actress continued to cry and plead her case on screen, turning to look at Mimi with the hope that she was equally annoyed by this movie, but to his disappointment, her lips were trembling as she sniffed and tried to hold her tears back, her eyes glued to the television.
“Honestly, Meems,” Yamato muttered under his breath and draped a comforting arm around her, satisfied with how she quickly leaned into him for support.
“That could’ve been us, you know,” she said in between stifled sobs.
“Sure, because your dad would have had me framed for the murder of your betrothed- OW!”
Mimi pinched his arm as she shot up a glare at him, “You know what I meant. And thank you for spoiling the ending, I thought you hadn’t watched this movie.”
“No, I don’t know what you meant. And I haven’t watched this movie, but the plot is pretty predictable,” Yamato said, rubbing the spot on his arm she had pinched with a frown on his face.
“Don’t you ever wonder what would have happened to us,” she paused to fold her arms across her chest furiously as she straightened her posture slightly so she wasn’t completely leaning into him anymore, “If my mother was not able to convince my dad to get along with you?”
“No, I really don’t,” Yamato replied flatly and before Mimi could throw another angry jab at him, he added, “Because despite our differences, I know your father to be more sensible than a badly written movie villain.”
Mimi raised an eyebrow at him, through pursed lips she asked quietly, “Is that supposed to be a compliment or an insult to my father?”
“Definitely a compliment for your father,” Yamato smirked, raising a hand to pull at her cheek playfully, “ but an insult to your choice in movies.”
Three Hundred and Sixty Five Days - Chapter 1: January - Nightmares (Arukenimon/Mummymon)
Title: Three Hundred and Sixty Five Days - Chapter 1: January - Nightmares
Chapter: 1/6
Character(s): Arukenimon, Mummymon
Relationship(s): Arukenimon/Mummymon
Additionnal tag(s): Hurt/Comfort, Past Character Death, Eventual Romance, Slow Burn (kinda)
Warning(s): There is one graphic paragraph (the first one), depicting a nightmare Mummymon is having about his own death at the hands of BelialVamdemon. You can skip ahead to the line "Mummymon. Mummymon!" if depictions of someone being melted in acid is something you might not want to read.
Summary: A collection of one-shots detailing Archnemon and Mummymon’s rebirth and their assimilation into the human society of East Tokyo. From dealing with past traumas to moving into a new home, discovering new hobbies, making amends with old enemies and understanding themselves a little better day by day.
Author's note: This took ages to write, but I'm really happy with the result! This was originally meant to be a one-shot, but ideas for follow-ups came up, so you can expect more soon! (or… not so soon, let's be honest). Thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoy!
Paramnesia by Brian Wilkinson
“‘Some researchers believe that poltergeists, for example, are an example of powerful emotions marking a space and causing it to skip like a needle on a record. Ghosts, quite likely, are created as a result of an emotional ending.’”
Year Read: 2017, 2018
Rating: 3/5
Context: I received a free eARC through NetGalley from the publishers at Blue Moon and DigiWriting. When the book was slated for re-writes, I agreed to read and review it a second time. It's sort of exciting to be involved in the process, even in such a small way.
About: When Nora and her boyfriend, Andrew, are attacked by a monster on prom night, only Nora survives. The attack triggers episodes of what her psychiatrist calls paramnesia, a confusion of reality with a dream world. Except Nora’s dream world seems all too real. Suddenly, she can see ghosts everywhere, including Andrew’s. The creature that attacked them, a soul-eating monster called a Revenant stuck halfway between living and dead, is planning to finish what she started.
Thoughts: It was a struggle to get through this a second time. Part of the problem is that I think I'm well outside the target audience now, and that matters more in some YA books than it does in others. It matters here. The beginning is still rough, and the first several chapters are rushed and flimsy as Nora meets Andrew, they fall in love (immediately, it seems), and go to prom. I’m not much for romance in the first place, and theirs is too much sweet and not enough substance. The novel would have been fine skipping all of this and beginning with the car accident, since these events and the weak characterization involved don’t add a lot to the rest of the novel.
The writing leaves something to be desired, and it would do better with half the adjectives and a quarter of the moralizing. I don’t think even younger readers need the messages about appreciating life, friends, and family to be so spelled out for them. There’s also a tendency to tell rather than show, especially in the beginning, but this gets better as the novel goes on. Nora's best friend, Vee, is a vast improvement on the second round, as she goes from a walking cliche to a decent friend with more intellect. I never found the Revanant frightening; she's condescending and evil without motivation (that's just what evil things do). Her chapters don’t usually bring anything necessary to the main plot, since the Others never really feature in Nora’s story.
Once Wilkinson actually gets into his plot, it’s a lot of fun though. There are a few too many ghost characters to keep track of, but for the most part, they’re funny, cute, and heart-warming. (I love Peepers and his search for his sweet Adelaide.) I was reminded a lot of The Frighteners; it has that sort of vibe to it, and the supernatural world-building is similar. While I was annoyed by Nora and Andrew’s insta-love, Wilkinson does a nice job leaving her feelings with another character open-ended. Neither of them are rushed into another relationship, and it felt a lot more realistic.
Overall, it seemed like this second copy was an attempt to make the novel more palatable for younger readers, and I think that's an appropriate goal for the material. The comedy is high on toilet humor, teasing Nora about her snoring, and cheesy running in-jokes that weren't funny the first time. The one sex scene is edited out, Vee becomes more of a role model, and if Wilkinson were to remove the swearing, it would probably work fine as a middle grade novel. While the story ends on a bit of an R.L. Stine-like twist, I probably won’t continue with the series.
99 Ways to Turn Zen On (NSFW-ish)
A small thing that @michiigii-writes-mysme and I did for fun while chatting. Some also came from @vess-hs ! You guys are amazing :33
There are only 2 things that can kill Zen’s beast
99 Things that Turn Zen On:
Holding your hand
Your smile
Shirts that reveal your midriff or lower back in certain positions.
Long socks that squeeze your thighs
Anklets
When the temperature is cold in the apartment and you’re not wearing a bra
When you link arms with him while you walk and he gets a little sideboob…
When you rub noses with him.(“Nose Graze? More like nose humping, it was so sexually charged!” -The OC)
When you lightly kiss him anywhere on his face
Watching you walk away
Those rare moments when you actually get sassy and throw a really sick burn at some rude fan or pervert
Calling him "oppa”
Teasing him about the Beast
Letting him take the lead
Letting him chase you around the apartment. Extra points if you let him catch you. “The big bad wolf has you now, my princess~”
Telling him how manly and cool he is
Run your hands over his muscles. Even if it’s just a massage.
Running your eyes over his muscles. Even if he’s onstage.
Cheering him on the loudest during the applause
Licking your lips
The way your eyes glint with just a tiny hint of jealousy when his fans gather around during a date
Melted chocolate
Implications that someone may be watching
Seeing you lean against a mirror. Makes his imagination run wild.
Seeing you on top of and straddling his Motorcycle
Taking off your sweater/jacket to reveal…a backless dress!
Casually run your hands across his thighs, especially if you’re both seated at a table and there are others around. Bonus points if it’s the rest of the RFA
Licking your own fingers
Licking your fingers when they’re coated in a sticky substance
Asking him how a new outfit/article of clothing looks on you. “Let me show you how much I like it…”
Wearing his trademark white jacket. Bonus if that’s all you’re wearing.
Watching you/visiting you at work.
When you ask him to keep costumes on during quickies in his dressing room
When you praise his acting
Taking videos or photos of the two of you during intimate moments. All intimate moments
Book Review: A Land Apart by Ian Roberts
Book Review: A Land Apart by Ian Roberts @DigiWriting
A Land Apart
“A Land Apart” is historical fiction and based on actual events that happened in 1634 in New France which will eventually become Canada. It’s the story of the Wendat and the Iroquois as seen through the eyes of a Frenchman who had “gone native” in a manner of speaking.
For some strange reason, “gone native” has a bad connotation, as if the person had gone rogue or made a bad choice.…
Firefighters are Water Fairies – All Good Things by Perry Prete @PerryPreteBooks
I found Perry Prete through a blog tour and I am so glad I did. this is my second books of his to read and I have three more waiting on my Kindle their turn, so stay tuned for more great stories.
How about the simple yet very effective on hooking me cover? What do you think?
Cover: Digiwriting
Publisher: Sands Press
Amazon / Goodreads
MY REVIEW
Perry Prete takes his real life work and twists it into fiction novels, giving his books the feel of being a true story.
I love Tom, Ethan’s hunky sweet partner. Does his job the way you wish everyone would. Tom is one special guy and, if I ever need an ambulance, I hope he shows up. He is a gentle caring, patient man.
It started out a normal day at work, but not when we reached apartment 318. He, literally, stepped in it. He noticed something odd…it looked like an upside down cross brushed on the victim’s forehead. He felt the need to follow up on the call. He couldn’t let it go.
An upside down cross has many meanings, one of which is a public execution.
He found there was more than one curious death.
His bud, Galen, is the lead on the murder case. They are close friends, playing off each other. Galen is sort of a red headed British overweight Columbo. What a fabulous description is that. Makes it very easy to picture him, and we do see a lot of him.
The humor is understandable. Like anyone in a high stress job, humor helps people get through the bad. The urinal scene had me cracking up. Boys will be boys.
He was having fun with the killings, smiling while watching the police at the crime scene. The killing had now become sexual for him. He got off on it. He gets sicker with each passing moment. He had become…
He calls Ethan and the game is on. Why is he being singled out by the killer?
I got a bit of a rush from that ambulance ride.
Did you know that firefighters are water fairies? LOL
Oh man, there is so much sadness. The deaths become more gruesome as he comes into his own. And this may so sick, but I am enjoying it more. The darker, the more evil the villain becomes, the more I love him.
The pacing kept the suspense on an even keel, always there, endangering the characters. The more I get to know the characters, the more I like them, even the evil villain. I think Tom is my favorite though.
This is Perry Prete’s first novel and it was a great one. Very well done. I loved it. Some great characters, plenty of murder and mayhem, loss and love, danger and evil. I am not sure what’s missing. why am i not blown away, because it has all the thing I love…could it be romance? Of course, this is a series, so maybe he’s saving that. You know, a slow burn instead of a hot flash.
I look forward to reading more of his work, watching him grow as an author, creating more mystery and suspense, because…there is one question not answered. The story could end here, or, it could come to life in the next book.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of All Good Things by Perry Prete.
4 Stars
Could I get five lines of an imaginary fic for one of your digimon pairings if its not too much trouble? Dealers choice on which pairing
Since I am pretty much cheating at this, I will pick Taiora and Mimato both and do 5+5 (let's hope I can manage to stick to that at least) ( I was not able to do that lol).
Okay so this is a sort of hate at first sight AU that I wrote long back, where Taiora are getting married, and their best friends aka Yama and Mimi, who hate each other need to be corporative for a change. I've been thinking about re-writing the oneshot for quite some time now, but never got the chance so today I'll just write something that can happen after the oneshot.
~~~~
"Will you two stop it?"
Sora's loud voice finally cut through the angry insults that Yamato and Mimi had been throwing at each other for the past few minutes. If Yamato was being honest, he had quiet forgotten why the two of them started arguing, but looking at the rage filled expression on Sora's face, he decided that he would not voice this thought out loud for now. He let his eyes turn towards Mimi again, and saw that she was equally surprised by Sora's outburst, curtly settling back in her seat she passed an apologetic smile in her best friend's direction, but that didn't make much of a difference, as they found out a minute later.
"I am so tired of both of you," Sora spoke up again, her voice still as loud, as she slammed her hands on the table, standing up abruptly, "just constantly butting heads for no reason." She paused and took the time to look pointedly at both Yamato and Mimi before continuing, "It's truly remarkable how the two of you have forgotten just who you're supposed to be helping. This is my wedding-"
"Our wedding." Taichi interrupted her with a grin, which Yamato didn't think was the best thing to do considering how Sora looked akin to a ticking time bomb.
And she did not betray his expectations as she turned to fix Taichi too, with a death glare before speaking again, "This is my wedding, and we're going to plan it the way I want to. If the two of you cannot wrap your heads around that simple fact, then I'll be happy to ask other friends of mine to fill in your shoes."
Both Yamato and Mimi opened their mouths to apologise but Sora was having none of it, with a final glare in each of their directions, she stormed out of Yamato's apartment, slamming the door shut behind her with a bang.
"Well, you've done it. You've managed to make Sora mad," Taichi laughed, making Yamato wonder if his best friend had a single brain cell that understood the situation that had just went down, "It's not an easy task, I must admit."
"She won't actually replace me as her Maid of Honour, will she?" Mimi asked quickly, her shaky voice matching the nervous look on her face.
"Nah, you're good Mimi-chan," Taichi waved a hand around dismissively, "She just needs to calm down, then you can talk to her." He then stood up, and stretched his arms above his head, "I will go help her do that. I'm so grateful to you two by the way," Taichi smirked, "getting her all riled up like that, it does wonders for us in bed."
"Seriously, Taichi-"
"You're disgusting-"
But Yamato and Mimi's protests to his statements were unheard as he too, quickly sauntered out of the apartment.

You were asking for Arukenimon/Mummymon prompts? Well here's some - 1. The duo meet their alternate universe counterparts (y'know, X-Evolution and Ghost Game for Mumm, Survive and Ghost Game for Aru). 2. An AU take on their relationship, where their feelings for each other are inverted (i.e. she's head over heels in love with him, he's far less interested) 3. An AU where everything's the same, except Aru's a guy and Mumm's a girl (but NO abuse!)
Oh thank you so much! These are all so good!
I'm going to do just one for now and save the others for later (otherwise this will take forever) ; but know that I already have something written down for each prompt!
Linen Fascination
(Mummymon & Archnemon's relationship- reversed)
A cloud of dust followed the buggy as it roared through the empty, deserted landscape. Nothing stood on the horizon for miles except for the occasional cacti and dried up bushes dotted here and there. There was no road ; not even a cleared out path to follow. Mummymon had to remain completely focused on his surroundings to avoid potholes and rocks sticking out of the arid ground. As a result, it took him a little longer than usual to notice the movement on his left- until a face framed by delicate silver-gray hair appeared in his field of view.
Arukenimon’s face crept closer and closer, to her companion’s annoyance. Mummymon rolled his eyes. She rested her chin on his arm, looking up at him, grinning.
“-Put your seatbelt back on, the man in blue sighed, If something happens to you, Oikawa will have my hide.
-I’m not scared of him, she teased playfully, If he gets mad I can protect you, you know.
-Seatbelt.
-Hm… And what if I don’t want to?”
Arukenimon watched as Mummymon lifted his right hand without looking at her, keeping his eye on the road and his left hand firmly on the steering wheel. Before she could say anything, two linen wrappings shot from the inside of her driver’s sleeve with such force it pushed her back against her seat. She felt them wrap around her upper-chest and shoulders and slip behind her seat, effectively tying her down. She let out a cry of surprise- followed by a loud and dramatic huff.
"Ugh, you're so mean…”
She gave an almost comical pout- one which unfortunately went ignored by her target. When she realized she was not going to garner any reaction from him she resorted to removing the wrapping herself ; groaning and twisting in her seat until it finally slid off. She clutched the linen in her hand and looked over at Mummymon- and couldn’t help the grin that reappeared on her face.
There was something… Exhilarating about him.
She couldn’t quite put her finger on it. Maybe it was many different things. Maybe it was just one. All she knew for certain was that she loved him.
She wished she got to see his face more. He always hid it under his hat and behind his tall collar, upset at how inhuman it looked. Ashamed, even.
She didn't understand.
His face had always captivated her.
She loved the sharpness of his teeth and the way they rested so delicately over his lips. She loved his eye, golden with gentle specks of amber, piercing her with a stare she had never seen from any human. She loved the color of his skin, dark gray like a rolling storm.
He didn’t need to look “human”.
“Human” was nothing. “Human” was boring. “Human” was Oikawa, their boss, a pathetic man who only knew to sulk and yell orders and be upset. Mummymon was so much more than that… She always admired his devotion to their work. The cool temper that allowed him to keep a clear head no matter the situation. His will to push forward. Even the way he kept her at a distance gave him a kind of mysterious charm she could never get enough of. It was like a game ; one she had to win before he drove her mad…
“We need to find BlackWarGreymon quickly, before he throws another tantrum like the child he is…” Mummymon sighed irritably.
Arukenimon hummed playfully and leaned towards him again, earning a groan and a huff from her companion. She nestled comfortably against him (or at least as close as the seatbelt allowed) and rested her head over his shoulder. She brought two fingers above his arm and pressed them down, slowly ; ever so slowly in a pretend strut over the blue fabric of his coat.
“Mmh… I know BlackWarGreymon is quite the handful, but he's still important to us, don't you think?"
Mummymon paused for a moment, thinking. After a moment he nodded. Arukenimon grinned.
"-You're right… He's a strong Digimon, if we can regain control over him we could-
-We made him together!"
Oh. Right. That’s what she meant…
“-You made him, I had nothing to do with-
-We made him together. We created him, we gave him life… When you think about it, we’re just like parents to him… He’s not just any child, he’s our-
-I hate children.” he cut her off dryly before she could finish her nonsensical rambling.
Arukenimon was so taken aback by his tone that she fell silent. Then again, she didn’t know what else she was expecting from him…
She let out another dramatic sigh and slouched back into her seat.
Right, she had to win the game before he drove her mad…
It was just a shame she wasn't very good at said game.

Number 14 from Sixteen Sinful Sentences for Taiora. I hope that's OK.
Thank you for sending in the request!
These days I tend to lose my motivation very quickly when it comes to writing Taiora as I'm not invested in them as much as my other ships so this took longer than I hoped it would. It's kind of senseless too, but I hope you enjoy reading it.
Post dividers by @/cafekitsune
Prompt: "Yes, please keep doing that."
Sora was certain that on most days she didn’t mind being the bigger person between her and Taichi. Conceding in irrelevant bickering, always letting him pick the movie for date nights, even going as far as to let him order on her behalf if he was trying to get her to taste a new dish. Some people considered this as her spoiling him, mostly it was Yamato who chided her that she was the only one who didn’t take a stand against Taichi’s tantrums and that’s why he felt so comfortable with acting up around her. But that did not bother Sora, she would rather spend less time arguing and more time laughing along to whatever joke Taichi would crack once he’d had his way.
Or that’s what she’d always assumed.
She watched from the corner of her eye, Taichi’s attention was fixed on the screen in front of them but she could see the hint of a smug smile tugging at his lips. With his one arm casually draped around her shoulder, he spun the TV remote in the other making Sora’s eyes twitch in annoyance. She too turned her attention towards the match playing on the screen, hoping that it would uplift her mood slightly. While Sora was also always gung-ho about cosying up on the couch with Taichi to watch a live EFL match, tonight she had been hoping to catch the premier of a documentary on the textile industry. When Sora announced her plan, Taichi locked eyes with her and just for a few minutes there was complete silence in their living room. Then, without a warning he lunged forward and grabbed the remote, quickly putting on the match before Sora could react, laughing in triumph when her face fell.
“You snooze, you lose,” he said with a snicker.
“Real mature, Taichi. If this would’ve been a fair fight-”
“Please, don’t make me laugh any harder Sor, as if you’d be able to overpower me.” He shook his head in disbelief and settled comfortably on the couch, turning his attention towards the match without care.
What bothered Sora was not Taichi disregarding her wish to watch the documentary, but his belief that she was weaker than him physically. Their workout routine was almost identical, their diet was similar and they played one hour of soccer every Sunday morning together. So it hurt Sora when Taichi assumed that she would not have been able to win over him in a battle of strength. Even if Taichi’s attention had been completely overtaken by the match, this thought kept nagging at her and Sora knew that she had to do something to prove him wrong, that this was one thing she would not allow Taichi to get his way with.
She shifted her gaze from the TV in front of her and instead surveyed their living room. There had to be something around she could use to prove her point to Taichi. In her mind, however, she knew the best way to do it would be arm wrestling, but considering how pleased Taichi looked with himself, she knew he would not take it seriously if she were to suggest it now. She had to think of something else, something that would take Taichi by surprise and he would not be left with any other choice but to agree that Sora was as strong as him. Her eyes landed on the arm that Taichi had draped around her shoulder so callously and a lightbulb went off in her head.
With a smirk playing on her lips, Sora lifted her hands to her head, pretending to fix her short-cropped bangs as she kept a steady watch on Taichi from the corner of her eye. Once she was able to make sure that he really was not paying any attention to her at all, in one swift movement Sora grabbed his arm tightly, pulling it over her head and twisting it so she could pin it behind his back. Taichi let out a surprised gasp but it was muffled when she pushed him down face-first into the couch with all her might, straddling herself in position on top of his hips as she strengthened her grasp on his pinned arm.
“I’m sorry Taichi, I don’t think I heard you correctly the first time,” she said, smiling at the back of his head as he squirmed under her hold, “You said something about me not being able to overpower you?”
She heard him attempt to respond but with his face still pressed deep into their couch, it was hard to make out what he was saying. Sora hoped that he was apologising for his comment earlier, but knowing Taichi, she knew that he would just be complaining about how he wasn’t prepared and that this was cheating or something. She decided to keep this up for just a minute or two more, considering that her point was already proved, with a shake of her head she glanced at the struggling figure of Taichi under her grasp, and suddenly her heart skipped a beat.
It was rare for her to be the one in control during such situations because mostly Taichi was the one who would take her by surprise and by the time she’d manage to get a hold of her senses, he already had her dancing to his tune. But now, she was presented with a golden opportunity, she had the chance to make him obey to her demands and Sora would be a fool to not take advantage of the situation.
She leaned down, loosening her grip on his arm slightly and letting her free hand run through his thick hair before tracing a line on the nape of his neck with her finger. She felt his body tense under her touch as he stopped his struggle to break free, taking that as a sign for her to continue. Sora let go of his arm and slipped both her hands under his shirt, feeling his skin shudder against her fingertips. She let her hands roam freely across the length of his back, admiring every curve of the muscle slowly and gently.
Another muffled sound reached her ears when she looped her fingers against the hem of his pants, tugging at them in contemplation. She looked up to see Taichi adjusting his face, turning to rest it on his left cheek so he could finally talk.
“Okay, okay, you win.” The statement came out in between ragged breaths as he attempted to tilt his face sideways so he could catch a glimpse of her.
“Not good enough.” Sora smiled, she had to drag out her moment of glory as much as possible, knowing that she wouldn’t get another chance like this for a while now.
“What do you want me to say?”
“That you think I’m just as strong as you,” she said, letting her fingers gently brush against his waistline and grinning when he bit his lip in reaction.
“Okay Sora, I think you’re just as strong as me. Or stronger even. Either way, I’m sorry.”
She expected him to tell her to get off of him now but surprisingly, Taichi made no such demand, in fact, his whole body relaxed under her. This confused Sora because her only goal had been to get him to cave and admit that he was wrong about her but she hadn’t expected him to give in this easily. She felt a bit disappointed too, because she’d just started to enjoy herself and wanted to see if she was capable of taking this as far as Taichi would without chickening out.
“Thank you, Taichi. As long as you don’t forget it,” she said, trying not to sound too disappointed when she made to lift her leg from around his torso.
“Wait! What are you doing?” Taichi cried out, propping himself up on his elbows so he could turn his face around and look at her with his big, brown eyes.
“What do you mean? I won, right?”
“Yeah, but that doesn’t mean we have to stop.” His eyes shined bright with excitement as he lay back down without waiting for Sora to respond.
“So you want me to keep going?” Sora asked, still unsure of what exactly was going on in Taichi’s head.
“Yes!”
“Hmm. So what is it that you want me to do, Taichi?” She asked again, but this time her voice was low as a playful smile appeared on her face.
“Whatever you were doing before.” He sounded impatient, like a child waiting to receive candy.
“I’m not sure what you mean by that,” she said, letting her fingertips brush past the small of his back gently, allowing them to linger close to his skin before pulling away with a smirk when she heard him groan.
Even with her hands by her side, she could feel the heat radiating off his body as he took a few, shallow breaths to maintain his calm. She thought about letting him stew in his impatience for a little while longer, but his heat was contagious and Sora felt her whole body quiver from being touched by his warmth. She lifted his shirt and allowed her hands to slide slowly across his back once more as she leaned down to whisper directly in his ear.
“Is this what you want me to do?”
“Yes, please keep doing that.”
When she giggled at the desperation in his tone, her breath tingled against the nape of his neck and she heard Taichi let out a sharp gasp. It didn’t take long after that, for him to lose whatever semblance of patience he had shown so far, and Sora found her own back being pinned against the couch in no time. Taichi hovered above her, his warm, cocoa eyes now curtained by desire as he stared at her lips. When he bent down, Sora almost closed her eyes in anticipation of the kiss, but she felt his hand slip behind her back and fidget, making her question him with raised eyebrows instead. A minute later Taichi fished out the TV remote from under her, something she had been too preoccupied to even notice was digging into her back and grinned at her as he tossed it away carelessly. Before Sora could check to see if the remote landed somewhere without breaking, Taichi had already closed the gap between them, pressing his lips against hers as one arm snaked around her back and the other cupped her cheek, wiping her mind clean of any thoughts except that of being consumed by him.
The remote and the match playing on TV, the main reason behind their little competition, remained promptly forgotten for the rest of the night.
Thank you for reading!

Taiora - Hugging them from behind.
Is it ok to ask for Sora to be the one hugging Taichi?
+ smirking in a way that suggests more requested by @xnananko
Thank you for the request Anon, and for letting me know that you wanted Sora to be the one to initiate the hug. Though I'll be honest, when I first saw the notification of the ask, I could only read the first part and I'd already decided that Sora would be the one hugging so I'm glad our thoughts matched up 💖
This fic is set in a post adventure canon divergent au aka no 02/tri/kizuna/epilogue etc 😌
Hope you guys like reading it, posting something Taiora related after 7 months 😅
🧡~~❤️
Taichi would be lying to himself if he said that he had remembered Sora’s birthday correctly.
In fact, in the week leading up to it, he kept thinking he was forgetting something important but couldn’t put a finger on it. Until he arrived at school that morning and passed by Sora’s classroom, almost doing a double take noticing the crowd that had gathered inside. He’d always known that she was the kind of girl who made friends with people easily, but it was when he saw seniors and juniors alike handing her little packages and wishing her enthusiastically did Taichi realise, that maybe he didn’t know Sora all that well after all. He’d quickly made his way back to his own classroom, a little grateful that they weren’t in the same class this year and he could take this time to think about how he was going to make it up to her.
A distant memory of a failed gift from his childhood appeared in Taichi’s mind, how when he’d assumed what was better for Sora without asking her how she felt, it left her feeling upset with him during a crucial Digimon attack. He reminded himself to not make a mistake like that again, lest a wormhole opened up above their school and dropped more evil Digimon which Sora might refuse to fight against together with him.
All jokes aside, Taichi knew that he had to act and act fast. He texted Koushiro casually, asking him if he’d gotten anything for Sora at school, trying to make it seem like that he just wanted to check whether it was better to hand over the gift later, outside of school. His friend replied almost instantly, stating that he’d handed his gift to the birthday girl right at the school entrance this morning. Taichi tried his best not to curse under his breath, he’d seen a glimpse of Mimi’s pastel hair in Sora’s classroom, so he knew there was no point in asking the chirpy brunette. So as a last resort, he turned in his seat and came face to face with his best friend.
“You forgot Sora’s birthday,” Yamato muttered dryly, not looking up from the book he was reading, as if this conversation didn’t deserve that honour.
“Yeah.” Taichi accepted his fault, knowing that there was no point in trying to hide the truth from someone as observant as Yamato.
“And?” Yamato turned the page of the book he was reading and still did not seem as invested enough in this problem as Taichi would like him to be.
“Did you get her anything?”
“I’m dating her best friend, Taichi, so of course we got her a gift. As a matter of fact, we handed it over to her yesterday itself.” Yamato stated this as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, and it was Taichi’s fault that he hadn’t figured it out yet.
“And you didn’t think of reminding me?” Taichi asked, exasperated by his best friend’s cold behaviour.
“What am I? Your assistant?”
“No, I’d like to think you’re my best friend, but apparently not.” Taichi gritted his teeth and turned away from Yamato, letting his head drop on his desk with a loud thud that scared some of his classmates seated around him.
“Just go to the convenience store during lunch and buy her some chocolates.” Yamato offered in a much softer tone than before, maybe the best friend comment seemed to get to him.
“It’s Sora! I can’t just buy her cheap chocolates for her birthday.”
As much as he wanted to hide his guilt and frustration with himself, it was hard to keep the emotions in when he felt so helpless. With his current track record of gifting stupid stuff to Sora, he wanted to make sure that this time around he’d get her something she would truly like. Of course, to do that he should’ve strived to remember her birthday correctly in the first place. However, Taichi still felt that if he had time on his side, he could make up for this blunder and walk up to Sora with the perfect gift in his hand. Maybe Yamato had figured his intentions out too, because he heard his friend sigh loudly behind him.
“I’ll help you in avoiding her today,” Yamato said.“Just make sure you go buy a gift after school and hand it over to her in the evening.”
“You’d do that for me?” Taichi raised his head and looked at Yamato with shining eyes.
“Yes. I am your best friend right?” Yamato smirked as he turned his attention back to his book.
It seemed that Yamato and Mimi were addicted to texting each other in between classes, which is how his best friend was able to figure out Sora’s schedule for the day, and that made hiding from her a very simple task for Taichi. He managed to keep his profile low the entire day, only stepping out from the comfort of his classroom when it was time for his afternoon soccer practice. But he wasn’t worried about getting caught then since most of the school would’ve emptied by the time his practice was over and Yamato had mentioned something about Sora making plans with Mimi for the evening.
And that’s why, as practice went on and Taichi completely immersed himself in the sport, he let his guard down, ruining all the effort he’d put into staying under the radar during school hours.
He stood gulping down water from his sipper at the edge of the soccer field. Their Coach had wrapped up practice with a few words of advice and while most of his teammates were heading back to the locker room, he considered if he should stay back for about thirty minutes to work on his weak points. He’d already figured out what he would buy for Sora, so he knew he wouldn’t take too much time in getting the gift to her, which should free up some extra time for soccer right now. The sun had only just begun to set and Taichi viewed the orange hue that had started to spread across the skyline with a hint of confusion.
Before he could reach a decision, however, he felt a pair of arms wrap around his waist.
Taichi felt his whole body tremble as a familiar and sweet, flowery scent reached him along with the warmth that spread across his back as someone pressed themselves against it. He was frozen to the spot and colour rushed into his cheeks when he looked down and noticed the slender arms that now rested comfortably around his waist. The dimmed rays of sunlight made the beige coloured skin shine like bronze, making his fingers twitch with an ache to trace his name slowly across her arm.
“Gotcha!” A soft giggle reached his ears as he felt a chin rest upon his shoulder.
Taichi tried his best to not jump as an electric sensation ran across his body through his ears, the part where Sora’s breath had tickled against his skin still buzzing. His heart began to beat fast when the fact that Sora’s chest was now touching his back registered in his panic stricken mind.
Deep down he didn’t mind the proximity, especially when Sora had been the one to initiate it.
He was used to letting his hand brush past hers or bumping his shoulder with hers when they walked side by side. He didn’t try to hold himself back when he sat next to her, letting his knee rest by hers, letting his head fall onto her shoulder for a quick nap. He never hesitated to take her hand into his own when they walked through crowded streets or ran to get to school on time. However, Sora had never done anything like this before, sure she played along with him when he tried it, but in those few moments when he expected this of her, she’d shy away by averting her gaze or moving further apart.
Something about today must really be different for Sora to suddenly hug him from behind like this.
With all the willpower he could muster, Taichi pried her hands away from his body carefully and took a few step forwards, so he could turn around and face her with a nervous smile.
“Happy Birthday.”
“Thank you.” She returned his smile in full, cherry eyes filled with excitement as she looked at him.
“You’re quite the popular girl today, huh?” Taichi joked, an attempt to hide the anxiousness of being caught before he had the time to get her a gift.
“Is that why you didn’t come to see me all day today?” Sora folded her arms across her chest, tilting her head as she passed him a confused look.
“Yeah.” He lied, swallowing the nervous gulp in his throat with great difficulty, “Almost couldn’t find you, what with your ladies in waiting forming a wall around you.”
Sora narrowed her eyes at him, he could see the gears in her mind turning as she dissected his words and behaviour. He squirmed under her gaze, finding it difficult to hold his ground, he looked up at the sky instead and started to whistle in a low tune. If Sora hadn’t figured out he was trying to hide something from her till now, he knew that this would’ve definitely given him away. As expected, in the next moment she shook her head and sighed tiredly.
“You forgot it was my birthday today, didn’t you?”
“No, I did not! I totally remembered, you just looked so busy-”
“Oh, Taichi please don’t lie to me today.” She interrupted him with a raised hand and he hated how disappointed she sounded. This was the exact opposite of how he’d expected their conversation to go once he finally decided to face her today.
“Just admit that you forgot, I won’t be mad at you,” Sora said, letting her hands drop to her side so she could fidget with the hem of her uniform skirt.
“I didn’t forget.” Taichi reasserted, though he had no idea from where he was getting the guts to lie so confidently. “I...I even- I even prepared an amazing gift for you.”
Since he’d already dug a hole for himself with the first lie, Taichi decided that he might as well dig a little deeper. Looking at the sudden spark of interest that spread across Sora’s face, he felt more motivated to keep going with the plan he’d just come up with a few seconds ago, despite how utterly crazy and reckless it was.
“Really?” She asked him, eyes wide with hope as she stared at him.
“Yeah. I spent a lot of time thinking about what I should get you this year.” Taichi cleared his throat and took a step forward, reducing the distance between them slightly, “But nothing I saw seemed like the perfect gift that I know you deserve, so I came up with something else. Something...something I couldn’t have given you in front of everyone else.”
The sun had pretty much disappeared against the tall skyscrapers of Tokyo, which left the sky drenched in deep shades of purples and oranges. The violet hues danced off of Sora’s auburn hair, surrounding her with a reddish glow that made it hard for Taichi to look away from. Her bright eyes were fixed on him, anticipation bubbling through them as a pink tint spread across her cheeks. What he was about to do next scared him slightly, but looking at her right now, when she was surrounded by a mesmerising radiance that beckoned Taichi to come closer, he knew that he was taking the right step.
This might not be the gift he’d originally thought of, but it was still a perfect gift nonetheless.
With that thought, Taichi took another step forward to close the distance between them.
He cupped Sora’s chin in his hand and tilted her face upwards, pressing his lips to hers gently. He smiled against her lips when he felt both her hands clutch onto his t-shirt as he leaned deeper into the kiss. A soft moan reached his ears when he used his tongue to caress her lips, tasting her orange-flavoured lip balm. He raised his other hand and traced his fingers across her cheek, feeling her soft skin at his fingertips just so he could remind himself that this wasn’t a dream, but he really was standing on the school soccer field and kissing Sora.
The thought jolted awake his rational side and Taichi pulled away from the kiss abruptly, darting his head around to check if they were being watched. He sighed with relief when he noticed that the lights were out in the school building and the field was completely deserted as well. When he turned his attention back to Sora, he saw that she was still clinging to his chest as pouted up at him.
“So..uh..yeah, happy birthday,” Taichi murmured as he avoided looking at her eyes, feeling the repercussion of his bold move flood to his cheeks in the form of a hot flush.
“Hm. I wouldn’t consider it a happy birthday yet,” Sora said as her lips curved upwards and she let her gaze drop to his lips.
“Uh, I don’t understand-”
“Come on, Taichi,” Sora smirked at him as she stood on her toes so she could lean closer towards him. A mischievous glint danced across her dark, rosy eyes as her smile and low tone suggested more than what her innocent words let on, “You can still give me a better gift than that, right?”
Taichi held his breath for a moment, waiting to see if Sora would laugh and push him away, claiming that she was just joking. But when her eyes stayed fixed on his face and her hands continued to hold onto his chest tightly, he allowed himself to grin as he snaked one arm around her waist and pulled her closer to him.
“The birthday girl’s wish is my command.”

I've been working on an AruMummy fic since late December and it's taking ages because I haven't really written in a while, so I wouldn't mind trying my hand at something else.
I can't promise it will go anywhere but if you have an Archnemon/Mummymon prompt for me I would love to write a snippet or two!
Whether it's a sentence or just one word, anything goes as long as it relates to either Archnemon, Mummymon, or both! (I'm most likely to default to romantic/shippy stuff by default if the prompt is ripe for it but platonic stuff is cool too! Just specify when sending the prompt).
(Anon asks are open if you're shy)
#digiposting#digiwriting#archnemon#arukenimon#mummymon#i used to write so much and i kinda. fell out of ittt#i wanna write againnnnn-#might hand out a link to the google doc wip if anyone is interested in the fic i'm working on#i also have snippets here and there but they're just a few sentences#most of my stuff is about them being uuuuh very traumatized by what happened and working together to get better#and discovering the joys of having hobbies and a social life and doing things just for themselves
