b. Frulliamo con frullatore ad immersione;

4. Fatta la maionese aggiungiamo senape, ketchup, salsa Worcester e cognac e incorporiamo bene;

5. Mettiamo la salsa nei gamberi e mischiamo bene;

6. Serviamo dentro a delle ciotole sopra un letto di lattuga!

b. We blend with an immersion blender;

4. Once the mayonnaise has been made, add the mustard, ketchup, Worcester sauce and cognac and mix well;

5. Put the sauce on the prawns and mix well;

6. We serve in bowls over a bed of lettuce!

Design fictions are a mix of science, design and fiction. The term describes an emerging area of design that uses storytelling as an experimental device to question the world around us. Using a combination of concepts, objects and visuals, design fictions are propositions for how things could be done differently. Depending on the viewer’s perspective, these fictions can be understood as anything from a cautionary tale to a Utopian ideal.

London based designers Dunne & Raby have been working with what they refer to as Critical Design, Speculative Design and thought experiments for many years.  Combining elements of industrial design, architecture, anthropology, science and sociology they stimulate discussion and debate about the social, cultural and ethical implications of existing and emerging technologies.

Dear diary,

Today I received a mysterious letter. I don't even know how the postman found me, and that makes me nervous. But not as nervous as the letter itself. It was signed from an apparently prestigious digitarian from a place called Essex all the way down near Bravo. They want me to go down there and play some kind of gambling game and attend a concert. They even sent some kind of foreign money in the letter.

I know my family will worry if I go, but I hear there's a forest outside of Essex that has rare plants nobody has seen anywhere else. If I can bring something back, who knows what problems it could solve! I have to go. Right?

The airship leaves tomorrow. If I pack now I can head out in the morning after my chores. Don't worry, I'll leave my parents a note. Wish me luck,

Fashion Exhibition

Tak sekadar fashion show, Neo in Style melengkapinya dengan fashion exhibition berupa pop up store dengan konsep menarik sebagai wadah untuk memasarkan produk ready to wear craft fashion yang mengangkat konten lokal dalam ragam gaya, mulai dari gaya konvensional hingga kontemporer untuk memenuhi berbagai selera konsumen. Tak ketinggalan pula digelar fashion experience bagi para pelaku industri ready to wear untuk memahami Indonesia Trend Forecasting 2017/2018 dengan tema ‘Digitarian’.

Fashion Design Contest

Untuk menjaring talenta baru yang kreatif dan inovatif dalam industri ready to wear di Indonesia, diselenggarakan Fashion Design Contest 2017 Presented by YOU C1000. Kompetisi desain ini berkolaborasi dengan lima sekolah mode, yakni Esmod Jakarta, Istituto Di Moda Burgo Indonesia, Binus Northumbria School of Design, LaSalle College Jakarta, dan LPTB Susan Budihardjo. “Generasi milenial merupakan future drinker YOU C1000 yang dekat dengan dunia fashion. Berkolaborasi dengan IFC dan lima sekolah mode di Indonesia, kami membuat lomba desain fashion yang menantang generasi milenial untuk berkreasi dan berkompetisi secara kreatif dan sehat, sehingga diharapkan mereka dapat berkontribusi dalam industri fashion. Hal ini memiliki benang merah dengan brand personality YOU C1000, yaitu premium, beautiful, fresh, modern, dan healthy,” tutur Fajar Akbar selaku Event Manager YOU C1000.

Fashion Design Contest 2017 Presented by YOU C1000 telah dimulai sejak Januari 2017. Dari seluruh peserta yang mengikuti kompetisi ini, tim juri yang terdiri dari desainer Ali Charisma, perwakilan dari pihak YOU C1000 dan masing-masing sekolah mode, telah melakukan proses seleksi untuk memilih 10 finalis dari setiap sekolah mode. Kompetisi ini menentukan lima tema desain yang terinspirasi dari elemen alam untuk masing-masing sekolah mode, yaitu tema ‘Air’ untuk Binus Northumbria School of Design, ‘Fire’ untuk Istituto Di Moda Burgo Indonesia, ‘Earth’ untuk Esmod Jakarta, ‘Metal’ untuk LaSalle College Jakarta, dan ‘Water’ untuk LPTB Susan Budihardjo.

Hasil rancangan seluruh finalis kompetisi ini akan dipresentasikan untuk menentukan para pemenang dalam acara Grand Final yang digelar pada tanggal 15 September 2017 di ajang Neo in Style. Selain menampilkan 50 rancangan dari seluruh finalis, fashion show dalam acara Grand Final turut menghadirkan karya dari desainer tamu, Deden Siswanto. Dengan kriteria penilaian berdasarkan kreativitas, orisinalitas, dan kesesuaian dengan tema, tim juri akan memilih tiga pemenang dari setiap sekolah mode. Selain mendapatkan hadiah berupa uang tunai, pemenang pertama dari setiap sekolah mode akan mendapat kesempatan pula untuk mengikuti Fashion Trip dengan menghadiri Seoul Fashion Week 2017.

“The United Micro Kingdoms (UmK) is divided into four super-shires inhabited by Digitarians, Bioliberals, Anarcho-evolutionists and Communo-nuclearists. Each county is an experimental zone, free to develop its own form of governance, economy and lifestyle. These include neoliberalism and digital technology, social democracy and biotechnology, anarchy and self-experimentation and communism and nuclear energy. The UmK is a deregulated laboratory for competing social, ideological, technological and economic models.”

  “The Digicar is a development of electric self-drive cars being pioneered today. The car has evolved from being a vehicle for navigating space and time, to being an interface for navigating tariffs and markets. Every square metre of road surface and every millisecond of access, at any moment, is monetized and optimised. Passengers are required to stand to minimise the vehicle’s footprint, and are happier to communicate virtually with distant friends than fellow commuters.

“Today, self-drive cars are presented as social spaces for relaxing commutes, but Digicars are closer to economy airlines, offering the most basic, but humane experience. It is essentially an appliance, or computer, constantly calculating the best, most economic route.”
