I'm a weirdo that needs an analog clock to read time. Anytime I see a digital clock, I automatically convert it to analog in my head.

Realized my PC and desk didn't have any analog clock, and my husband let me have his DECADES old clock to use. I put little feet on it so the clock face is angled towards me.

Are you a weirdo like me? Or do you prefer digital clocks?

“i’m curious about this futuristic society where you never need [to read an analog clock]” everyone has a phone in their pocket. there are also digital and smart watches. digital watches have been around for a long time people haven’t NEEDED to be able to read an analog clock for quite some time, actually. the futuristic society you are describing is the one we have been living in for decades.

thinking about my grandma who was born in the 1930s and never got a digital clock till probably 1999. She always told me the time like "Quarter to one" "Half past three" "10 to seven" and I realized at one point that probably came from looking at a wall clock most of her life. Your wall clock probably wouldn't have numbers for every single minute. Some don't even have numbers at all! So if the hour hand it's at "4" and the minute hand is half way across the clock, it's "half past 4". If it's a five minute block away from 12, it's "5 to 12". She wasn't counting the minutes like I do, she was counting the sections on the clock.
