Incredibly stressed out? Cleaning up other people's messes? Going through more events way bigger than yourself, causing some mondo headaches on the daily?

ITS DIGIMON DRAWING TIME, BAY-BEE!!!!

Fake screenshot feat. my oc Odette mocking Rika. Id say they're both equally good at the digimon card game. Odette is just full of herself. Fakes being demure and dainty until it's time for the claws to come out. Rika was more upfront with her aggression and private with her kindness. They're foils.

Anywho this would be early in the season. Odette and her partner act as low stakes "villains" whose main goal is to get stronger, defeat Digimon first, and attack the other kids to collect their data. They treat it like a whole "first come first serve" thing, but won't hesitate to knock others out of the way to claim a victory.

Later in the season something happens to give them a dramatic change of heart. Odette also realizes that Rika is her rival/ favorite bully target NOT because of hate. I imagine Odette tries to flirt with Ryo a few times, realizes it feels "off," and that her attempts at banter with Rika become more playful. Odette recaps with her partner, like "WHY DOESN'T HE LOOK AT ME?! HE SHOULD BE LUCKY SOMEONE LIKE ME EVEN LOOKED AT HIM!" then proceeded to list all the things she hates about him.

"HIS HAIR SMELLS LIKE DIRT AND FIRE!!! HIS DIGIMON LOOKS GROSS! HIS CLOTHES ARE UGLY! I HATE HIS VOICE! HE LOOKS LIKE A THUMB" etc.

Then she starts ranting about how he likes Rika and how if they got married it wouldn't make sense because pretty girls can't marry ugly boys, and how Rika would have to teach him how to dress and take care of his hair, and how she's too cool to be with someone so lame, and right I'm the middle of the rant it hits Odette.

"Ohhhhhhh....."

Ryo and Odette become rivals for Rika's affection. Character development hit at this point, so Odette's not trying to actively hurt anyone this time around.

BUT THATS THE FUTURE

Right now, Odette is still mean and scary. She still says awful things like "I'm a gorgeous young socialite! And you're just tomboy trash."

Hell Yeah, 10 years of Ascending storytelling! Time to celebrate! wait, what do you mean the ten year anniversary was nearly two years ago? f**k Better late than never. Also a) I'm not dead, and b) more Ascending is coming. Stay tuned for Firestarters (hopefully next year)

Part of the reason I wanted to include a non-binary character in my story. Their Digimon also uses they/them pronouns

Digimon story where a nonbinary kid struggling with their identity ends up in the Digital World where all the Digimon are like "what's gender, can I eat it?" and this helps the kid realize they're not weird

I’ve done more art than this but these have been ones I mostly finished myself- a little help here and there.

Digimon OCs!

Oh hey look it's time again to draw Digimon OCs!

Beryll and Plushiemon: Redesigns of chars from 2021. I made em after recovering from covid. The original looked like crap, but it was the best I could come up with after not drawing for days.

They're part of the 01 team, and are kind of mean in different ways. Beryll is imitating Daria and Wednesday Addams. She loves counterculture girls, but doesn't have a full understanding of why. Her attempts at sarcasm, dry wit, and sharp commentary come off as hurtful.

Plushiemon is a classic mean girl; she finds fault in everyone, loves tearing others down to build her own ego, and sincerely thinks she's too good for most activities.

The two get along via a miscommunication: Beryll thinks Plushiemon against the mainstream, Plushiemon thinks Beryll is the only one who realizes how weak and lame everyone else is.

They have a lot of slip ups. Beryll does show sincere regret if others show visual frustration at her comments. Plushiemon can't always hide her excitement.

I'm guessing their cool crest moment is when the two try to deny that they care about being reunite with the other kiddos. They probably have a Digimon isolating them constantly, criticizing them for showing any signs of emotion. Plushie is the first to crack, admitting to the others somehow that she's miserable and she misses everyone. Some cutesy spiel later, Beryll breaks free and admits it, too.

Beryll and Plushiemon still have dry wit and snark, but try to steer clear of being rude.

Fashiondolliemon happens after they finally start to clear up that miscommunication error. Beryll saying she never wanted to be mean I'm the first place, mixed with all the dangers in the human world encourage both of them think. They don't just try to be nice, but get enthusiastic about being helpful and saving people too.

hit a roadblock with homework so I took a break to make a pixel headshot of my Digimon oc partner, Ankimon :D Haven't done pixel art in a loooong time, started in aseprite then finished in SAI.
