God, after talking about my old fanfics, I went through some of the stuff I commissioned back then and found these few pages of fancomic/doujinshi that Riza23 did back in the day for me. The full thing is still online here. But I thought I could share.

This is the final scene of the "first episode" of Digimon Battle Generation.

Some comics about my experience playing 'Digimon: Cyber Sleuth' as a Digimon noob

A few months ago, I, a big Pokémon nerd, decided to branch out into other monster catching games. I've always been curious about Digimon, so I decided to give it a go.

Comic 1 - When I was deciding between Monster Hunter Stories and Digimon, I was comparing the rosters of monsters you can raise. I saw Hisyaryumon and Ouryumon and thought, "Those dragons are so cool! What would I need to raise to get one of these!?" And then I saw you can get one by evolving up a Wanyamon and decided I totally want in on this. The evolution lines are wack, but in a fun way.

Comic 2 - I decided to play Hacker's Memory first for a few other reasons too, but Betamon was a big reason. His digivolution line is just too perfect. Several of the Digimon he can digivolve into, like Airdramon, MegaSeadramon, and Plesiomon are all now favorites of mine.

Comic 3 - I was expecting a more sinister-looking Digimon when the game mentioned malware, so I wasn't expecting such cute little fellas. I'll protect them with my life!

Comic 4 - The fact Digimon can talk felt weird at first, but I found the problems they had and the cases we can accept from them endearing. That these critters big and small had struggles they needed our help with reminded me of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon in a way, and I'm always up for more Mystery Dungeon. Also, Pete's (the Wanyamon's) story made me want to cry

Ta-da... if you follow on DA, here's the origin of the outfits I often draw the pair in, designed for this comic/story.

Hiro with a more traditional goggle boy style and Kiyo sharing his with another well known squid partnered hacker.

And as intended, Chapter 2... well what is currently done so far, I'll add the other pages individually once done. (Pg 1 - 6 out of 17!) (Thanks Tezuze for telling me how! Chapter 1 below.)

This is Sabrizoe, a fusion of two visually similar characters (blond hair, striped tops, skirts, and sneakers) from my childhood shows: Sabrina Spellman (from the 1999 DIC cartoon) and Izumi/Zoe Orimoto (Digimon Frontier). This is how you revisit old memories with a twist. While the shows weren’t exactly top tier, they still had their awesome moments.

The 2nd and 3rd to last panels was what I got stuck on, I couldnt figure out how to draw his silhouette plus I had to finish drawing this in a different tablet. I took too long to come back to this that my style already changed 😅

Rise of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - Dino Megazord

Story/Background stuff under the cut, design notes + commentary in the tags!

When needed, the Power Rangers can summon colossal machines known as Zords from their Power Coins. The form a Zord takes is dependent on their personal thought of what could be most powerful at the time of bonding to their coin. For Zordon's originally chosen Power Rangers 10,000 years ago, it was mythical creatures significant to each of their alien cultures, similar in appearance to a Dragon, a Unicorn, a Griffin, a Stone Lion and a Phoenix.

In this team's case, upon finding the coins, Billy posits that the coins could potentially date back to the Ice Age, or even the time of Dinosaurs. Zack and Trini latch on to the Ice Age comment and eventually manifest the Sabertooth and Mastodon Zords, while Jason, Billy and Kimberly think of a Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops and Pterodactyl, respectively.

While the five Zords don't appear as physical contructs until some time into the team's struggle against the Dark Green Ranger, once they do, the Rangers are able to combine them into the great Dino Megazord.

Armed with the powerful Mastodon Cannon and the Triceratops Saber, the Dino Megazord is easily a match for Rita's Dragonzord, eventually gaining the ability to combine with it when Tommy reclaims the Green Power Coin and summons her own purified version.

Chapter 1.12: Such Sweet Sorrow

Absolutely losing my fucking mind over the KSBD page like. Fuck. Fucking fuck. God. Fuck.

We’ve watched Allison go through absolute fucking hell, so much pain, suffering and heartbreak, and now we get to see a glimpse of her ASCENCION

And as if that wasn’t touching enough as it was, like

Like we’ve slowly over the course of the story met and gotten to know all Demiurges

We’ve seen all the dope ass introductions to them that I can not even fucking include here in full because there’s so many and they’re full page panels BUT YOU GET WHAT I MEAN

We’ve met the other Demiurges over the past 5 books, a process that has taken 8 years in real time

And like, all this time, we all thought this fucking comic, this god damn story, was about the task Zoss gave Allison back in Book 1, the reason he gave her the key, the mission he sent her on

We thought that’s what the title drop was

But no

Zoss was calling Allison by her true name

The name she has now claimed, with her ascencion

And I’m not fucking okay bro what the fuck

Behold the rookie-ness of it all! Chapter 1! Combing the fun of two worlds because GG is such an easy universe for these sort of shenanigans and we never really got a size ep in the show... somehow???

That and I need more Kiyo/Hiro bro bonding, they are such opposites their dynamic is so much fun! Eccentric, flamboyant Senpai, grounded and reasonable Kohai. Chapter 2 is in progress! Out of something like 7 so far ^^;

I spent the last few weeks of free time and energy making art for digimon card game playmats so my spouse and I can look spiffy at locals, and now that I'm done I'm wondering what to do with myself.

But good news, I figured out how to make thin ink lines in clip studio and they actually look good. And I found the pinch tool for vector lines, so I can do minor fudging when a line isn't quite where I want it, instead of having to redraw the whole thing.
