What would you like the plot to be in a hypothetical Knack 3? And what do you predict it could be?

I think I had a dream about something like this and still it would be *way* cool to have an actual massive labyrinth of ancient relic structures to navigate. I want co-op puzzles with Lucas using his grappling hook. And more teleporters. Most players would hate it because it would be a headache and a half to track everything, even with partial maps.

Naturally there would also be Guardians everywhere, and maybe there could be some new-but-ancient types.

And along the way they could find clues to Knack's origin, and to who made him and how many of them there might actually be.

A major thing I noticed in the second game is that Knack has the most power in what happens, naturally because he is the only canon playable character. But often, things like whether and how a puzzle gets solved is left up to Knack, too, which makes sense from a player agency and gameplay standpoint but is rather ehh from a story perspective. To have Lucas or another companion offer possible solutions, and play some physical part in putting things together, would help balance the narrative weight and may help Knack feel less like Atlas. Even something like helping Knack push or lift something when he doesn't have access to enough relics would be adorable.

Even without physical assistance and with single player, they could split up and talk over communicators while you play. Then you can have Lucas scuffle and grunt on the other end of the line, and have him not respond when Knack asks if he's okay >:3

I'm evil.

There could also be mini-games where Lucas tries to recall what he learned while helping the Doctor bring Knack to life. Lucas is a huge nerd; he's gotta know something. On the other hand, I can barely remember what I had for breakfast, let alone events from half a decade ago, so maybe he'd misremember some things.

I need some kind of resolution for the goblin plot. Two games, each eight hours or so long at least, and each time the goblins are dropped for some other antagonist. I bet the creators would leave us hanging again in KNACK 3. Sadly, I'm not sure how it could be done anyhow and is a major sticking point in my own story.

And I really wish the duo hadn't just flown off into the night sky on a whim; I wanted to see more of other characters like Ava. I don't remember what her plans were and am experiencing some technical difficulties preventing me from checking.

I also want characters to get into actual serious arguments that threaten their relationships and expose insecurities. I love drama.

Oh I think I remember reading this. The articles I viewed tended to explain it as Intellectual Property maintenance or something like that. A third game is extremely unlikely.

I have mixed feelings about the possibility or lack thereof of a third game; I know people like saying 'trilogy' more than 'duology', but I'm still trying to digest the second one and my current opinion is something like, the creators don't seem to know what makes KNACK good. A rather hostile opinion, to be sure, but it's not really out of hate; more out of clutching the precious pieces to my chest that seemed to have been abandoned or brushed aside, or gone unnoticed. Maybe I have just seen things that weren't there.

Sorry: I don't mean to barge in and be all "Never gonna happen! They changed it, now it sucks!" Although reading the TV Tropes article I just linked it sounds familiar...

I have this wild idea that the KNACK property should be given to us to explore without worrying about marketing and without being locked into a particular medium. Sort of like a myth, I guess. There is so much to expand upon if only the writers were allowed to. If only we were allowed to.

It's quite possible that KNACK changed my life and altered my brain chemistry forever. I love it so much it hurts.

If I ever got the chance to pick my dream job, it would be head writer for the inevitable Knack 3

Who's your favorite character in the Knack games?

Probably also Knack. But lately I'm looking to rotate Ava in my mind, instead.

To be honest, I've been mentally chewing on Knack for so long, I wonder if he's starting to lose his flavor. I've just been thinking about KNACK, especially Knack, 24/7 for almost a year now. Even while I'm asleep (though I don't remember much of that). Whoa.

I think I got stuck on a single aspect of his character, and I worry I'll be saying the same thing over and over in my stories.

Not sure why I chose Ava to put under the microscope next; I just think she's cute. I want to put her in different outfits and pick at her brain.

I have a huge backlog of things to draw. This will be fun!

I heard that people new to depicting will struggle because, instead of drawing forms in context with each other, they use symbols. I can't remember the word exactly. Pictogram?

Here are some examples from the first game:

Doing it on purpose for, say, a comic or a side-scroller, could lend a unique style and tone I find intriguing.

The only other person I remember using shape and line tools so far is @creamsodathe1st, but they put the shapes in a three dimensional context with occlusion.
