Somehow, The Christmas Station ID also features cameos from Disney at the very end featuring Blue the Puppy who is the mascot of TV5 and the character from Disney’s Blues Clues. Somehow, Blue the Puppy broke the fourth wall and made the characters from Disney, the TV5 crew members and South Korean boy band Momoland to get mad and glare at her which makes Blue surprised that she is about to be captured by the crew. But eventually, The Christmas Station ID featured an explosion where Ivan Dorschner accidentally sliced a bomb with an Excalibur sword which nearly exploded on him which also broke the fourth wall by accident. However, The opening features the voice of Peter Musgñi who is the voiceover of ABS-CBN whenever he narrates about Christmas and even the people they lost which made people cry or even depressed.

Sadly, The Christmas Station ID did not feature Regine Velasquez because she was busy handling with her son Nate Alcasid. Also, Dominic Roco and his younger brother Felix Roco left TV5 in early 2010.

Somehow, The Christmas Station ID will be re-used in 2013 which will be known as “DisyembRegalo”.

movie idea #1: cowboy setting, bcus I’m gonna start off w my brand. ok, so:

we open up on a shot of saloon doors, it’s night, and you can hear gunshots coming from inside, maybe some even fly out the door opening. We see a gunslinger (played by Charlie Hunnam) stumble out, obviously limping, face haggard, clutching his shoulder as he makes his way to his horse which he unties from the post. A drunken man stumbles out after him, and shoots at him as he gets on his horse, nicking him in the leg. Gunslinger winces, but gets on his horse anyways, “hee-yah!”’s his horse out. 

The camera pans out to see the gunslinger riding his horse out beyond the city limits, into the farmland. He drives up to this one house, tho, that’s a little farther out than the rest, and all but falls off his horse as he knocks on the door.

The camera pans to see that in the window by the door, there’s a sign that says, “VETERINARIAN / OFFICE OPEN FROM 6 TO 7 / DOES HOUSE CALLS”.

The door opens on a man (played by Diego Luna) who’s obviously turned in for the night, and he’s initially confused but realization hits him when he sees the bloody gunslinger. He quickly pulls him inside, and sets him down at his table. When he checks for wounds, he finds a shot to the shoulder, a shot near his gut, and a shot in his leg. He quickly searches for his aid kit, and starts talking to the gunslinger, “Hey buddy, I’m gonna patch you up, okay?” “I’m a vet, actually, not a human doctor, so I’m sorry for any harm I cause you” “I have to take your clothes off, you’re bleeding a lot, and I need to get to the wounds” “Damn, I ran out of antiseptic, I forgot to pick some up in town” “This’ll sting just a while, yeah?” He douses a rag with whiskey, and cleans the gunslinger’s wounds as best as he can. The gunslinger winces in pain, and the vet mirrors him. We then montage how the vet gets the bullets out, sews him up, bandages him up, and helps lay him down in bed

Next scene: morning comes, and the gunslinger wakes up hurting. The camera changes to show us the vet coming back from bathing himself, and he hurries over to the writhing gunslinger, leaves then comes back with wet rags and washes him as best as he can. Gunslinger opens his eyes in hazed shock, and the vet meets his gaze, tries to soothe him, says, “Don’t worry, you’re safe, you’re safe,” and when he calms down, the vet replaces his bandages w new ones

The gunslinger conks out, and the next scene opens on him waking up again, this time calmer. He manages to sit up, looks down at himself, around, then tries to get up, but the vet comes over and pushes him back down to at least sit. “Hey, hey, don’t start jumping on me.” “Where, where am, who are you?” “I’m the veterinarian, you came here two nights ago.” “Oh.” ... “I’m Dionisio. Dionisio Rosas.” Gunslinger nods, still kinda out of it. “And you are?” Gunslinger looks back up at Rosas and says, “Clark Tulip.” “Tulip. That’s not a common name.” “No, I guess not.” ... “I’ll get you some food.” They eat grub, and Rosas replaces the bandages, checks on the sewings. “Looking good, they’re kept clean, in a few days you’ll just have scars.” “Thank you, for helping me.” “Nah, don’t mention it.” Rosas smiles as he wraps the fresh bandage on Tulip’s leg, then the camera switches to Tulip, who smiles abashedly, and looks away

Next scene: Rosas goes into town, picks up some goods like antiseptic, a cane, a sling, some clothes, and food. He approached by a matronly woman, who asks if he can see her dog who’s been awful sick these days. He shakes, no, nods his head and says that he’ll come over later. Oh, bless your heart, Dino. Camera cuts to him riding up to his house, and walking in, setting his bag down on the table. He grabs the cane and goes over to Clark, tells him, “Here, use it to start walking.” “Now?” Clark asks as he looks up from where he was cleaning his gun. “Your leg’s fine, the bullet went through flesh, it’ll heal quickly.” “Alright.” Clark takes the cane, and gets up, unsteady on shaking legs. Rosas holds out his hands, just in case, which seems to be the case when Clark takes one step and stumbles downwards. Rosas catches him, taking a few steps back himself, and he laughs. Clark is gripping tightly onto him, scared for his life, but can’t seem to hold back laughs as well. Rosas helps steady him back up, and Clark looks up into his eyes. They’re both smiling, laughs haven’t left them, and. Clark looks to Rosas’ lips. Rosas, blushing, walks him backwards to sit him back down. “Maybe you have to wait a while longer for your leg to heal enough.” “Right, yeah”

Next scene: montage of them living pretty domestically, sharing meals, Clark slowly walking w the cane, Rosas going out to take care of other people’s animals. Rosas one day asks why Clark got shot up, and he shrugs and says, “People just don’t like me.” Takes a bite out of his meal. Rosas thinks, then says, “I like you.” Clark looks up, and they share a cryptic yet knowing gaze. Rosas chins to their food. “Eat, it’s still hot.” Clark takes a moment, taps the fork on the table, “Yessir”

Next scene: “Tulip, I’m home,” Rosas calls out as he walks in home. He walks around, looking for Clark, but can’t find him anywhere. “Clark?” He steps outside, out back, and sees Clark standing tall and firm. Camera wide-pan to show us Rosas walking towards him. Cuts back to Clark’s back, then swivels slowly to show us his front. The cane is on the ground, and he’s pointing his gun with his bad arm to glasses set up on a halfway-abandoned shelf. Rosas stops a ways from him, and Clark shoots. He misses four of the glasses, but manages to nick one. He holsters his gun, inhales in pain, bends down for his cane, and starts walking back home, barely limping anymore, passes Rosas, spares him a glance. Rosas rubs his neck, then goes follow him

Next scene: Rosas picks up a human medicine book and brings it home. He shows it to Clark, and they work on basically physical therapy for his shoulder. Lots of hands-on stuff, and it’s lowkey flirty, and when Clark finally holds onto Rosas’ cheek and tilts his head to look at him, they kiss. And kiss, and kiss, and kiss, and get rid of each other’s clothes, and Rosas pulls Clark to the bed, Clark following with no complaints. The camera slightly focuses on the fact that the cane is propped up on the table, then back to the falling figures of Rosas and Clark. As Rosas pulls Clark’s shirt off, he winces, and Rosas stops and asks, “Fuck, I hurt you?” “No no,” Clark kisses him, then pulls the shirt off all the way, “You never hurt me” They kiss again, and the camera lifts and fades to black

Next scene: camera fades back in, to the morning after. Clark is curled up around Rosas, who’s waking up and kisses Clark’s hand. He softly gets out of bed, washes himself, then goes out to work. We follow him a while, him arriving at someone’s house, checking their pet or farm animal out, w/e. Camera cuts to Clark back home walking around w/o the cane, picks up a note Rosas left him – “Went out, job. Be back later. Dino” – he smiles and sets it back down. Camera cuts back to Rosas, showing him walking in town, passing by the saloon, when he overhears them talking about a gunslinger who was in town a couple of weeks ago. “Son of a bitch, I saw him here.” “No kidding.” They keep talking shit, but mainly about how he’s a wanted man for killing a few people and stealing. Obviously, Rosas is in A Trip rn, and asks what’s the felon’s name? “Some fruity name, Clark Flower something.” “Clark Tulip?” “That’s the one”

Rosas hurries back home, barges through the door, and finds Clark has been cooking. “Hey, Dino, you’re back! Are you hungry? Cause I found a cookbook you had–” “You killed three people?” ... “Who told you that?” “So it’s true?” “Well, if it is, would it change how you feel about me?” Rosas takes a moment, opens his mouth, closes it again. “No,” he says, surprising them both. Clark raises his eyebrows, gives a weirded-out smile. “Well then,” he says, “It’s true. It’s all true.” Rosas nods, then comes closer. Very close. “Who were they?” “Just some ne’er-do-wells who got in my way.” “They deserved it?” “Every single bullet” “Alright” Rosas kisses him, and Clark, very surprised and very pleased, kisses him back

Camera cuts to them in bed, with Rosas curled up by his side, Clark’s arm around him, hand trailing circles on his shoulder. “They’re gonna come for you” “No one knows I’m here” “Still, someone’s gotta be wondering why I’m picking up so much stuff in town” “You that popular?” A laugh. A swat to the stomach “Not the point. They’ll come after you, hunt you down. Bring you to justice” “Well, that’s just how it is, isn’t it?” A moment, of thought. He leans up. “It doesn’t have to be” “What d’you mean?” “I mean that you can leave. Not let them find you. We can run away together, start someplace new” Now Clark leans up to sit “Wait wait, you wanna run off with me?” A smile spreads over Rosas’ face, “Yes, I do” Clark looks at him w wonder

Next scene: Clark is doing the shoulder exercises, watching Rosas pack his bag with medicinal stuff. “Off to work today?” Rosas looks up at him, and closes his satchel. “’Course. We’re gonna need the money,” he smiles up at him. He comes to give him a quick kiss goodbye, and leaves, but not before looking back one more time. Clark winks at him, and he smiles on his way out

A few days pass, and Rosas stacks up on rifles and cartridges, and idk what exactly happens, but someone mentions going over to Rosas’ house for something, and he kinda freaks out and says not to, he’ll go over to them. “Why won’t you let ‘em go over?” says another patron of the bar. “Because. It’s a pigsty” “Nothing to be ashamed of, none of our houses are spotless” “Especially yours, considering you look after animals” “Right. Yeah” He leaves and gets on his horse, but one of the patrons follows him outside, asks “Whatcha hiding out there?” “Oh, nothing” “Yeah? Then you wouldn’t mind inviting me over for a couple of drinks” “You just drank, here” “Drinking’s better in company” “I’m sorry, but you can’t come to my house. Goodbye” He backs up his horse, and trots away

Obviously that dude sneaks to his house at night, w a buddy to stay behind. Rosas and Clark are oblivious, obviously. Clark greets Rosas with a kiss. The dude sneaks up to the front door, overhears the conversation they’re having: “Where do you see us heading?” “Oh, further West, to California even. I heard they have beautiful beaches over there” “Yeah? You wanna see the ocean?” “Of course, with you” The dude bangs open the door, and Clark and Rosas jump apart, Clark’s hand going to his belt. “Well well well, the local animal doc’s been hiding a felon!” He’s pointing the gun at them, and smiling like an evil bastard. “You’re abetting and housing a criminal, you could go to jail for this” “Douglas, calm down, let’s not do anything rash here” Rosas tries to calm, holding Clark’s hand behind him. “Nah, I’m taking this bastard to jail, claiming the prize for myself” “Douglas, come on, put that gun away” Douglas steps closer, cocking his gun, and he’s swinging the gun to Rosas, but Clark shoots him dead before he can do anything. Rosas is staring shocked at Douglas’ dead body on the floor, and when he turns to look at Clark, he looks up at him and just says, “He was gonna hurt you” Rosas can’t think of anything to say, other than, “Your shoulder’s healed”

Next scene: when they step outside to saddle their horses, they see Douglas’ buddy running off w his horse in tow, back into town. “Oh, shit” Rosas says, but Clark pulls him to keep saddling “Hey, hey,” he snaps “Don’t freak out on me. We gotta leave, now” “Right right” They finished saddling their horses, and got on and rode out. They rode as much as they could, managed to reach an abandoned house and stayed the night there. In the early morning, they eat, drank, fed their horses, and continued riding. “We’re gonna be coming up on Birdeye by noon” “Alright, after that, what?” “Like you said,” he looked over him sweetly, “California”

Next scene: they’ve arrived in Birdeye, renting out a room in the saloon. They’d restock, and then head out first thing in the morning. But they soon were in trouble, however: a  bunch of asswipes from Silver Hawks came to town. Rosas saw them as he was getting food, then hurried back to the room. Sadly enough, he was also seen, and immediately got shot at.

Ok, here we have a shoot-out scene, kinda like the one in 3:10 to Yuma towards the end mixed w the one from Open Range at the end, w them shooting and moving to their horses, getting them around the back, Rosas getting some good shots in, Clark admiring his boyfriend, all that nice jazz. Of course, gay love triumphs over everything, so Clark n Rosas get out w several scratches, nicks, and shots in them. Nothing too bad, Rosas can patch them up

Last scene: a shot of the waves on the California beaches. Rosas running along the waterline, and Clark watching from his seat on a dune, their horses hanging out back. They’ve both got bandages all around them. Rosas looks so happy, and Clark smiles, getting up and running to meet him and sweep him up in a Disney princess hug, then kisses him as a wave crashes into their legs

It’s been fascinating watch this train-wreck unfold these past few days every time I visited the tag and I think there has been a lot of confusion and plenty of stubbornness on both sides so I want to throw my two cents in here. I’m Mexican jsyk so that’s my main reason to do this and I apologize in advance if you find any grammatical errors in here or weird wording because this is a discussion with some terminology that I’m not fully familiar with in English and also, this is gonna be pretty long so, yeah. Btw I’ve been basically lurking many blogs that have posted their opinions and I might lift something from them (even in untagged posts) so sorry if that kinda creeps you out, that’s not my intention. Okay, so this is the post that started it all, right? I think the big issue here is basically labeling someone as white when said person has never stated how they identify with. 

The original post was about colorism in Hollywood and how light-skinned Latinos are most of the time the ones who get the chances and the representation while dark-skinned Latinos are often relegated or simply shut down and never given real opportunities and that’s a very important discussion that got derailed because the post also labeled Diego Luna as white.

Now, as you must know, Diego Luna Alexander was born to a British white mother and a mixed Mexican father. The main reason the OP used to label him as white and not mixed for example is the fact that his father’s ancestry is composed of Spanish/Greek/Cuban roots (ETA: I actually can’t find a concrete source on this so I’m doubting this info) and he has never identified as biracial/mixed so therefore, OP labeled him as white. The thing that stuck with me is that most of this is purely speculative based on his looks and the fact that he has never stated himself as nonwhite but then again, why would he? I know conversation in tumblr about race has been on the raise in the last few years and we have all gotten educated on the topic even if it’s just in a very basic sort of way but lbr, in the actual world such discussions are very rare and I can tell you that in Mexico are pretty much non existent. 

José Alejandro Dionisio Luna Ledesma is a mixed Mexican man, he might be light-skinned but that doesn’t make him white. Also, I’ve seen him in person a couple of times and outside of white hair due to his age he does not look white. He has not publicly identified as biracial/mixed because that’s just not a thing people do on the regular. In Mexico we are all assumed to be mixed due to our history and our census doesn’t contemplate a race question so the general population doesn’t question it and the big majority just considers themselves mixed. Unless you have clear that you’re of full white/black/asian/indigenous/etc descent you are mixed and like @lunadiego said in this post a person going on with their life saying “I’m so and so and I’m non-white btw” in Mexico is just a ridiculous notion. If asked, Alejandro Luna would most likely identify himself as a mixed Mexican man so to assign him the “white” label just because he kinda looks white to you and you can’t find an instance of him claiming his non-white heritage is not the way to go about it.

This ask actually summarizes the whole deal on both sides:

1) The anon is right when they say that this feels like pushing an identity on someone who hasn’t spoken about it.

2) @kisskissfallin-lava is right in mentioning that wrongly assigning whiteness or nonwhiteness is very problematic. However they end up actually doing that and I already described why that’s not entirely correct.

Having said all that, Alejandro Luna could definitely identify as white after all and then Diego would indeed be also a white man which brings me to my other point:

White Latinos do exist. White Mexicans definitely exist. Latino is not a race and neither is Mexican. Not all Latinos are mixed. Not all Latinos are PoC.

And the original post never intended to say that Diego was not Mexican or that he wasn’t Latino so idk why the conversation evolved into many posts defending Diego’s Mexican/Latino heritage when that wasn’t even questioned.

This post will help understand the differences between race, ethnicity and nationality but basically:

Race: External and objective social category that is placed on a person by society at large and is based on their physical appearance.

In this case, white(-passing) skin. 

On a personal note, I don’t even see Diego as white-passing (or güero as we would say in Mexico to refer to a white/light-skinned person) but I guess that’s up to personal perception. In my opinion, he looks like any regular Mexican guy you find walking down the street and I already stated that the majority of Mexican population is mixed so, there.

Ethnicity: NOT THE SAME AS RACE. I cannot state this emphatically enough. RACE AND ETHNICITY ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE. An ethnicity is a group of people who identify with each other based on common genetics, common ancestry, common culture, origin myth, history, homeland, language/dialect, symbolism, mythology, ancestry, physical appearance, religion, and/or other markers of group identity. It is a group identity defined by people within that group and not externally placed on people by society at large based solely on physical appearance.

In this case, Latino.

Nationality: The nation or country where you are were born OR immigrated to and became naturalized. Some people have dual nationalities. That has absolutely NOTHING to do with race or ethnicity. 

In this case, Mexican.

If Diego Luna were to identify as racially white that doesn’t take away his Latino or Mexican identity nor does it mean that he doesn’t count as representation in Hollywood. It just acknowledges that he has a privilege over other Latinos/PoC that are visibly nonwhite and in his case, as an actor, it also acknowledges the fact that he’s far more likely to get cast in both National and International projects that somebody who looks like idk, Roberto Sosa for example. However, his Mexican and Latino heritage is still there and he proudly displays it all the time, it’s an intrinsic part of his identity and that can’t be erased or ignored because it would deny who he is as a person and what he represents for millions of people in Mexico, in the US and in Latin America.

He definitely wouldn’t be a victim of racism but he definitely would be of racialized xenophobia in the US (especially given the current political climate) as this very helpful post clearly explains.

Racialized Xenophobia: Fear, hatred and systemic/institutional oppression towards a particular foreign group that is perceived to be non-white in a white supremacist society.

And that brings us full circle to the original post that just wanted to shine a light on the fact that nonwhite Latinos still struggle to make an impact and be featured on big projects as opposed to white/light-skinned Latinos who are always the ones who get the opportunities to succeed in that field.

And to be honest, that doesn’t even apply exclusively to Hollywood considering most telenovela/movie actors and a great deal of pop singers in Mexico are light-skinned and our media is always pushing white/white passing people and erasing dark-skinned folks in television, ads and magazines. So you know, it’s a valid conversation.

So, tldr; both sides had valid points and both sides were also reaching for the stars at some point in this discussion. 

Diego Luna might or might not be racially white but he’s still very much Latino and definitely Mexican. He also has benefited from at least white-passing privilege in both Mexico and in Hollywood due to colorism but he still struggles against racialized xenophobia in the US and even if he were white he would not be treated the same as white American actors or British/Australian/French/etc. His achievement in being cast as the male lead in probably the biggest franchise in film history while conserving his very thick Mexican accent is something huge that should be celebrated and definitely counts as representation but it’s also fair to point out that it would be nice to have darker-skinned Latinos given that chance too.

Oh storytime

I have a stalker who is mostly harmless so I haven’t called the cops. And also he lives in the same apartment complex so I can’t very well do much about it

Anyway: I try my hardest to keep all my responses short and avoid eye contact and never initiate conversation. Today I was outside working on my truck and he wouldn’t leave for an hour. And I had my phone sitting beside me.

So after forcing me to give him my number - he asked who was on my phonecase. I told him it was Diego. And this loser honestly said ‘oh is he a youtuber or something?’

And only now- after months of him following me home in the dark and trying to open my front door and waiting outside for me to come home - am I thoroughly angry about his existence. Because DIEGO DIONISIO LUNA ALEXANDER IS NOT SOME DINKY YOUTUBER. THIS MAN HAS ACTUAL TALENT! And frankly I’m offended that anyone would look at me and assume I’m into YouTube culture enough that I’d get a phonecase made. 🙄🙄🙄 Star Wars? Sure. YouTube? I’d rather take a long walk off a short pier.

Anyway: so after I turned beet red and calmly explained who he was - that son of a smith n Wesson had the NERVE to laugh and say that I just wanted a Spanish Lover. ....... screw you man. 1) Spain and Mexico are two different places you dolt and 2) Im not that frikin shallow. Like yeah - Diego’s gorgeous but also very frikin talented and funny and charming and intelligent and kind hearted and screw you for thinking that I’m vapid enough to just want a cliche latin lover.

The honest truth of the matter is you can’t imagine me as anything but a lifelike plaything and since you ain’t gettin it you think someone else must be. Well lemme tell ya something buddy- Go find a fish and eff it cause it’s the best yer gonna get.

I got real fired up writing this. I now understand keyboard warrior intensity. I feel like I could slap the lazy right out of this creeps eye right about now, whereas when he’s right in front of me all I wanna do is shiver in disgust. 🙄
