First Kiss With Him
Synopsis: ever wondered how his lips would feel against your own? let's find out, shall we?
Characters: alhaitham; diluc ragnvindr; wriothesley.
Warnings: GN!reader; headcanons; just fluff that made me swoon.
A/N: i'll probably do another version with honkai star rail men.
Honestly, Alhaitham was the trickiest one to think about.
But after much pondering, I think your first kiss with him would happen right after your confession.
We all know Alhaitham is smart af, but he can also be a little shit (/affectionate) when he wants to.
You see, he knew you had a crush on him, but he didn't say anything, choosing to wait and see how long it'd take for you to confess to him.
Which, in a way, turned into a mutual pining kind of situation, since he also had budding feelings for you.
Jokes on Alhaitham tho, the longer it took for you to confess, the further his feelings for you grew.
He may be the master of poker face, but it doesn't mean his patience is limitless.
Beneath that unbothered face, his mind has betrayed him by throwing those milisecond thoughts when he's reading a book, showering or even about to fall asleep: what would kissing you feel like?
When that happens, my friend, he knows there's no way back.
He starts to pay more attention to your face, more specifically your lips: the upward curve of your smile, the downward curve of your frown, the fullness of your lower lip when you pout...
Please wear lipstick, it will be hilarious to see Alhaitham make a conscious effort to not stare at your mouth.
But anyway, after you finally confess your feelings, tension will be on an all-time high, you've never seen him looking at you so intensely before and it makes your knees weak.
Even so, he's still oh so gentle when he cups your face to bring it closer, staring at your eyes one last time as a silent request for permission, before closing the gap...
Despite the yearning and long pining, the first kiss you share with Alhaitham is more of a testing waters kind of kiss, a hesitant brush of lips.
Remember, he is a scholar. And, as a scholar, the first test can never be aggressive or rushed, no. It has to start small, before you can be... bolder with testing your hypothesis.
With that said, after he pulls back just enough to separate from your lips, licking his own to savor the new taste...
He wastes no time diving back in for a more passionate kiss.
I hope you're prepared to go through many tests, because Alhaitham has found a new research subject and he will want to find out all of the different ways he can leave you breathless and with a blank mind.
Contrary to Alhaitham, Diluc was the easiest one to think about this.
Again, this is based of my interpretation of the characters and I think your first kiss with him would happen after you two are dating for some time.
I cannot imagine him having hot make out sessions with you before you are officially his lover.
Diluc Ragnvindr is the picture of a gentleman, if not a bit conservative when it comes to relationship.
In his book, there's no such things as 'casual'.
But, when I say 'for some time', I don't mean you'll kiss only after months of dating, don't worry.
Besides, I also can't imagine our Darknight Hero holding back his desire to kiss you for that long.
So, what I think is that there needs to be some time for you and him to get used to the shift of having a crush -> being in a relationship.
By that, I mean getting past the bashfulness of holding hands, not having to hide your feelings, being able to think 'i want to kiss them' without fearing it would make things weird.
And boy, let me share a secret with you: that particular thought starts to haunt Master Diluc's mind much more frequently after you became official.
It's like his gaze naturally go to your lips as if he's hypnotized! He prays that he's able to be discreet enough whenever he catches himself getting swept away by his desires.
He's not, you've noticed it a few times, but never said anything LMAO
The longer he holds back, the harder it becomes to remain composed, until he finally snaps.
On one of your dates, Diluc decided he'd put him out of his misery and finally kiss you! It will be when he walks you home to end the evening in a perfect note!
He may not have said anything outloud, but you could sense a shift in the air as you approach your house. A sense of... anticipation, perhaps.
When you're about to say good night, he tugs you to a hidden corner of an alley, where there's no risk of a pesky Knight of Favonius in patrol to see you.
A perk of his many secret patrols as Darknight Hero.
He's the type of whispering "May I kiss you?" as he craddles your face like you're the most delicate gem in all of Teyvat (which you are, in his eyes).
A first kiss with Diluc is soft, sweet and slow. He wants to take his time feeling every inch of your lips and it's like a flame that grows hotter slowly.
When he pulls back, he can't help but smile at your dazed state, making a mental note to do this more often to see you like this again.
After he walks you back to the entrance of your home, he gives you one last kiss, this time on your forehead as he bids you good night.
Ah, Master Diluc, the man you are! *swoons*
Wriothesley was actually the one who started this idea, but the more I thought about him, the more complicated it got.
As we all know from his backstory, I believe trust is something quite complex for him. Not that he can't trust anyone, we know he trusts Sigewinne, Neuvillette, Clorinde and the Traveler.
My point is that I think, for someone to have the Duke's trust, it'll take time.
Therefore, for Wriothesley to get into a genuine romantic relationship with someone? It requires a lot of patience and time, but not impossible.
With all of that in mind and for the sake of me not straying too far from the topic of this fic, let's say you are someone that Wriothesley considers important to him and has his trust.
And that importance and trust turned his feelings for you into something beyond platonic.
I can see him as the type to throw some compliments that borderline flirting, but not quite so. Like being more observant of subtle changes on you, how your presence is always a delight when he's caught up with work, invite you to walks when he's in the surface etc.
If your responses to those 'baits' are positive, he'll become more flirty. And if you flirt back? Ohhh, he's hooked!
That said, I think your first kiss with him would happen as a catalyst for a confession.
Everyone can clearly see the chemistry between you and His Grace, but none of you do something about it.
In Wriothesley's case, I imagine it's for a number of reasons, but mainly because of his position.
He may be respected and even feared in the Fortress of Meropide, but that doesn't mean he may not have people who'd love to take him down. And he'd hate for you to be in danger because of that.
So, he's torn between his wish to protect you and have you as his significant other.
Still, you can only fight against your heart's desire for so long.
I can see it all happening during one of your visits in the Fortress, which you pull His Grace away from the tedious piles of paperwork for a tea break.
Wriothesley would use the special blends he reserves for important occasions (a.k.a. your visits), while you would bring a new pastry from your favorite bakery for you to try together.
You are sitting side by side, him observing with amusement your delighted expression from the taste of the pastry, not even noticing a bit of cream left on the corner of your mouth.
'Cute' is what he thinks as he cleans the cream with his thumb, as if it's the most natural thing to do between friends that have the hots for each other.
In that moment, it's like time had frozen with the way you watch as the Duke licks his fingers clean, all while staring at your eyes.
Honestly, neither of you knows who moved first, but it doesn't really matter when your lips join his in a desperate kiss.
It's a messy mix of lips, tongues and teeth, the result of a pent up tension of who knows how long.
Wriothesley tries to be gentle, he really does, but Archons you taste so sweet, so addictive and so much better than he imagined. He wants more, needs more.
His Grace was never one to pray, but he'd ask for this moment to never end.
His hand would go to the back of your neck while the other would trail to your thigh, tugging you closer.
When he manages to break the kiss, a spark of clarity hits him and he feels the need to apologize for his actions, for not asking for permission first, to explain himself...
But you stop him by saying the words that have been stuck in your throat for a long time.
"I like you."
Wriothesley never thought three words would be able to make him smile so much as those did.
"I like you too."
Hoyo please bring him back, it's been more than a year since his release banner T-T

Crowley wasn't good at doing it himself, but Aziraphale was more than happy to preen his wings for him.
-----------------------------------------------------
Crowley wasn't very good at taking care of his feathers.
Aziraphale's were always so immaculately groomed. Rarely was a feather out of place, unless he was going through a particularly ill-timed molt. Some called it vanity, Aziraphale called it "looking presentable".
He could hardly blame Crowley for his lack of self-care though; his serpentine physique was hardly equipped with the tools to care for them. If it really got bad, he could always miracle them into shape, though he hardly even bothered to do that.
It had gotten to Aziraphale one day and he had set about fussing with the demon's wings, plucking out every errant feather and straightening the remaining ones. By the time he finished his task, the black feathers shone glossy and pristine in the lamp light. He puffed up with pride as he examined his handiwork, only to wither as realization doused him like a bucket of ice water.
He glanced nervously at the owner of the wings, realizing with a start just how many feathers lay strewn about them. He could make an entire second pair of wings with them, and just as well since he had dug deep and found feathers that should have fallen out 2 molts ago (really, how had Crowley managed to stand it? It must have itched like anything)! Crowley, for his part, lay beneath the carnage, coiled tightly around Aziraphale unmoving. His glasses had long been set side, and Aziraphale turned to find himself being watched by those beautiful golden orbs. He pondered for a moment if Crowley was asleep (hard to tell since serpents couldn't blink), but a small flick of a tongue when their gazes met proved him wrong. He wished he'd been right.
Aziraphale cleared his throat. "Apologies my dear, i-it seems I got quite carried away..." He mumbled awkwardly, embarrassment evident in his tone, his feathers puffing reflexively. It was practically the understatement of the century. 'Carried away'. Preening one's feathers was an inherently personal, bordering on intimate, thing. Crowley especially didn't seem to like anyone touching his wings and here he had spent Heaven only knew how long preening them himself, WITHOUT SO MUCH AS ASKING HIM FIRST--
He shifted uncomfortably when Crowley didn't reply immediately, choosing instead to leisurely inspect the angelic dove's handiwork. The silence was deafening, and Crowley seemed determined to stretch it out indefinitely as his slit pupils raked over each feather individually. Aziraphale desperately searched his gaze for anything he could discern, but only found concentrated scrutiny.
Then finally, finally Crowley turned his golden gaze back to him, his tongue flickering thoughtfully. Aziraphale's heart hammered with anxiety as he unknowingly held his breath, his wings shuffling awkwardly at his side. His fluttering heart nearly took off itself when he finally heard Crowley's low drawl.
"Mhm, thanks. They look... Better. Clean. Neat. It felt... Nice," Crowley said slowly, his s's elongating as he eeked out the rare compliment, the last part mumbled so quietly Aziraphale nearly thought he imagined it. Before he could muster a reply, Crowley dipped his head, laying it firmly beneath Aziraphale's feathery breast. His coils tightened as one came up to cover his face, shielding his eyes from view. Evidently, he was done talking.
Aziraphale stood there silently for a moment, letting his racing heart slow to a more normal rhythm before he thought of trying to extract himself from the demon's coils. He had bothered Crowley enough for one night, he thought. However, the moment he made to move, those newly preened wings stretched out on either side, trapping him in, he quietly resigned himself instead.
He would find later that preening Crowley's feathers would, as many other things between them had, become part of their routine. On nights when they look particularly egregious or found themselves with nothing better to do, they would settle in a warm corner of Aziraphale's bookshop, and allow themselves this quiet, yet delicate moment between them.

Listen, can we get recognition of the son and father relationship in s8 please.
"Huh." Hens eyes follow the back of Bucks retreating back as Bobby looks on as well. "I thought he would have a bigger reaction than that. He was so desperateto get rid off Gerrad." Hen pondered, looking at Bobby who had stepped in the station now fully back as Captain of the 118.
Everyone had celebrated at the news...
Except Buck, who was subdued at best when Bobby announced he was back at the helm of the station.
"Wonder what that's about." Bobby frowned, his stomach already churning at what was to come.
What came next was nothing.
At least nothing from Buck.
No chats, no hugs, no smiles, and no interest in cooking for the team or even helping Bobby cook.
Buck was fine when it came to communicating during calls. Ever the professional.
Too professional for Bobby's liking.
And it didn't go unnoticed by the team.
He had tried to approach Buck about before the end of the shift during his fourth day back but Buck had rebuffed his efforts to talk.
They hadn't talked since he came back, Buck wasn't even talking during team dinners.
Sure he would talk to Eddie, Hen, Ravi, and Chim- all smiles and laughter with the team.
But it was just silence with Bobby.
Bobby had it by day 7 of his return and vowed to actually confront Buck at home.
(Bobby refused to be upset about not realizing that Buck had moved in with Tommy at some point. How had Buck not told him that? That was a really big life changing decision and milestone)
(Of course Bobby had missed the irony of him being upset at Buck)
He drove the extra 40 minutes from DTLA to Silver Lake, he had thankfully been able to find Tommy's address through some old work emails.
"Bobby? What are you doing here?" Tommy asked once he opened the door.
"Is Buck here?"
Tommy's jaw ticked at that, "He's out for a run, should he back soon." He opened the door wide and stepped aside. "Come in."
Bobby nodded in thanks and came into the house. He had to admit to himself, he and Tommy weren't close. It always felt as though they both were keen on putting a wall between them, that line between being professional and overly friendly. Bobby knew why his own reason for doing so, it just took for Buck and Tommy to be dating for him to put together Tommy's reason for the wall as well.
He didn't know what to expect when stepping into Tommy's house. But it felt warm and lived in, it was neat but there were a few knickknacks here and there, pictures of random sites and people with Tommy (including a lovely framed photo of Tommy and Buck at the awards ceremony), and a lot of plants.
He also noticed a few familiar items that he was sure belonged to Buck.
"Can I get you something to drink? Juice? Tea? Water?" Tommy offered, leading them towards the kitchen.
"Waters fine, thanks." Bobby took a quick look around the kitchen, taking a seat at the kitchen nook table.
"So...any particular reason for the drop in visit?" Tommy asked, sounding blase as got three glasses of water, setting aside one on the kitchen island.
Bobby nodded and gave out a meek thank you as Tommy sat from across him.
"I-uh, I'm not sure." Bobby admitted, he looked up at Tommy quizzically. "Has Buck told you anything? I mean, has he been different recently?"
Tommy arched a brow at that. "Bobby, if you're asking if I know why Buck has been giving you the silent treatment at work, you can just ask outright."
Bobby's eyes widened and he knew his mouth was hanging open as well. "So you know the reason then?" He asked the other man cautiously.
Tommy nodded, twisting the glass between his hands.
"Can you tell me why? I've been trying to figure it out but he won't talk to me." Bobby pleaded, "He's acting weird around me. He doesnt want to talk, doesnt want to help me out with cooking duties. He doeant even call me Cap anymore."
Tommy nodded sagely. "I know."
"Can you tell me why?"
He watched as Tommy looked crestfallen at that and sighed before explaining to Bobby. "No, because it's not my place and Evan knows he can trust me. And as much as I respect you Bobby, I respect my boyfriend more."
Bobby pressed his lips together, mildly annoyed and impressed that Buck had found a partner that had his back like this.
Bobby rubbed his face tiredly, shoulders slumping in defeat as he mumbled. "Yeah."
"Safe to assume he's doing his job, right? Responding to calls and orders." Tommy leaned back in his seat, arms crossed. "He's talking and treating you the way he typically would with another captain. You put on the uniform, respond to calls, take orders, and go home."
That had Bobby sit up straight. He felt a weird sense of deja vu at the words- he was unsure if he had said the words before or if someone else had. It felt familiar and bitter all at once.
Tommy looked at him with an imploring expression.
"Because this is a job and not a family." Bobby finished hollowly....
He had said the same thing to Tommy and the rest of the 118 when he had started as Captain.
He said the same thing a few times to Buck too after Buck had started at the station, but it never stuck.
Buck had wormed his way into Bobby's life and heart. Despite trying for all the years to make sure he had never treated Buck differently, he knew he had a soft spot for him.
Athena knew.
Hen knew.
May even knew.
A part of him knew that Buck was aware of it too.
Which was why Bobby was at his ropes end in trying to figure out how his relationship with Buck was now at the step before first step.
It was though they had pressed the reset button on their relationship it this time, it was Buck making sure that they weren't a family.
"Exactly." Tommy pointed at him knowingly, a sad smile that had Bobby feeling more guilt ridden for their relationship.
"Tommy, I-Im so-"
"Y'know the one thing I admire about Evan? Is that he's selfless and resilient as hell, but he's not gonna force someone to love him and he's not gonna settle either. It's either all or nothing, which I definitely appreciate because I want it all with him." Tommy's smile was fond, "I know Evan cares for a lot for the people he considers to be his family, I just wish that they thought the same for him."
Bobby frowned at that, thinking hack to the times where he and the others had been there for Buck when he was hurt.
He was about to retort back when he heard Buck's voice and foot steps approaching them, "Hey baby, you wouldn't mind if we skip the movies toni-"
Buck froze on the spot, his demeanor switching quickly to something darker and moodier as he asked Tommy "What's the captain doing here?"
Both men stood up but only Tommy went to Buck's side.
"He wanted to talk to you." Tommy explained gently, he rubbed Buck's back in comfort. "I know you're pissed but it might help to talk to him. Even just to get closure." Tommy advised.
Bobby frowned at that, still unsure to what led to Buck essentially giving him the silent treatment.
He watched as Tommy whispered something into Buck's ear and saw how Buck's eyes widened and hardened again. His looked straight at Bobby with a disappointed frown.
"Just talk to him." Tommy pressed, "You might get some answers you've been wanting to get." He kissed Buck on the temple ans squeezed his hand, "I'll be in the living room if you need me, okay?"
Buck nodded, letting their hands linger and trace over their arms as they pulled away. "Okay, yeah."
Buck licked his lips, rubbing his face tiredly with the bottom of his shirt. "You really don't get why I'm so angry at you?" He asked Bobby, his voice heavy with confusion, hurt, and frustration.
"No," Bobby stressed, waving his arms out in frustration. "Honestly Buck? I don't get where any of this is coming from. I figured you of all people would be relieved that I would be coming back."
Buck nodded, not in agreement but just because as he slumped down in the seat that Tommy had vacated.
"Yeah," Buck sighed, "but that doesn't undo what you did, Captain."
It was the Captain that did it.
It was the final straw.
Bobby slammed his hands against the table. "Damn it, Buck. What the hell did I do in the first place? What exactly?!
Buck took a deep breath in, his blue eyes dark and wide but his voice was rough- on the verge of tears as he told Bobby "You were planning on leaving and you didn't even bother to tell me."
For all the bubbling anger that Bobby had felt, it only took Buck's shaky voice to break his demeanor.
"Oh."

love game | kjw x fem! reader
synopsis: you and your boyfriend love playing an interesting game at parties, but he couldn't let you win.
word count: 1.4k (not proof read sawri)
content warning: established relationships, infidelity(sort of), yn is a bit unhinged(you'll see), jungwon is down bad and also unhinged, fingering, idols added for world building, dom/sub dynamics, mentions of edging
author’s note: i wrote this based off of this request! this was heavily inspired by the beginning of season 3's chuck & blair's relationship in gossip girl. i hope that you all enjoy and again, requests are open! i really tried my best on this without making it too long.
"have you seen jungwon anywhere?" you exhaled, already irritable that your boyfriend left you pretty much as the two of you got to this house party you didn't even want to attend, shooting a glare the boy in front of you, jake.
jake looked around nervously, obviously trying to come up with a lie to cover for his best friend that wasn't obvious.
that's the thing you didn't understand, how men could think that you were dumb enough to believe they didn't know anything. you always knew, you were just giving him the opportunity to answer honestly.
"he. . ." jake began, looking down at his cup, "look, i don't know. go ask sunoo or something."
you rolled your eyes, brushing past jake but not before hitting the bottom of his cup to make it spill all over him, “oops. go ask sunoo to help you clean that up.”
you’re pretty sure you heard jake call you a bitch under his breath, but you didn’t have the patience to go back and forth with him. not today.
there weren’t many places that your boyfriend could’ve ventured off too, so you decided to start downstairs.
as you descended down the stairs, you noticed that there were people gathered in a circle with an empty soju bottle in the middle.
spin the bottle? how high school. you thought to yourself, but if jungwon was down here, you knew he probably encouraged the idea.
scanning the room, you didn't see your boyfriend, but your eyes landed on a particular raven haired boy who you knew couldn't keep his mouth shut if his life depended on it.
you plastered on your sweetest smile as you sauntered over to him, making sure to pull your v-cut sweater down even more.
"hi sunghoon," you purred, eyeing him up and down, "i feel like i haven't seen you in so long. what have you been up to?”
the boy’s eyes scanned you as well, stopping to look at your cleavage before finding your eyes, “oh hi y/n, has been a while hm.. still with that boyfriend of yours?”
god he wasted no time, did he? you wrapped an arm around his bicep, looking up with the best blowjob eyes you could give, “mm jungwon? we are kind of. . . in a rough patch. why? did he say something?”
“not at all,” sunghoon gave it no thought before wrapping an arm around your waist to feel your boobs press against his side, “though. . . i did see him play spin the bottle with everyone and go into a room with that girl. . . what’s her name? jaehee! that’s it.”
you innocently tilted your head to the side, a pout forming on your glossy lips, “mm. how long have they been in there?”
sunghoon pondered for a second before looking down at you once more, “they should be out any. . .”
his sentence was cut off by the closet door slamming open and hitting the wall behind it. your boyfriend, jungwon stepped out of it with disheveled hair and his sweater now wrinkled.
his eyes scanned the room before landing on you wrapped in sunghoon’s arms, lips quivering up in a smirk before turning back to jaehee.
“—second.” he said, his arm immediately dropping from your waist and downing whatever was left in his cup, “i should probably get back to the party. good seeing you though.”
unfortunately for you, sunghoon began to catch on to this pattern between you and jungwon a while ago. and as hot as you were, he didn’t want part of it—at least to jungwon’s knowledge.
you sauntered up to the pair, a mean look plastered across your features as you stepped in front of them. jaehee froze in spot, eyes growing as big as saucers and looking over to jungwon.
“spin the bottle?” you ask, scoffing as you gave jaehee a once over, “with her?”
jungwon chuckled, pulling jaehee closer to him, “c’mon. like you weren’t over there feeling up sunghoon. ‘oh sunghoon, you are so strong. please put me in a headlock.’” he squealed in a high pitch voice to mock you.
“jaehee,” you turned your attention back to the girl who felt like she would turn to stone if she looked into your cold eyes, “you know jungwon has a girlfriend, yes?”
jaehee shifted away from jungwon’s grip if it was searing hot, eyes planted on the floor, “well. . . he told me that you two were on a break and it didn’t um. . . he didn’t care so why should i? he wasn’t going to mention it and i wouldn’t either. . . if i had known i would’ve—.”
“wouldve what?” you cut her off, stepping closer to her and forcing her chin up with your index finger, “told me you groped my boyfriend for 7 minutes because everyone encouraged you to go into the closet with my boyfriend? c’mon jaehee, i wasnt born yesterday. i always know. tsk. . . such a shame. a pretty and smart girl like you garnishing a reputation as a boyfriend stealer.”
the girl’s eyes filled with panic and tears threatened to spill over, “n-no. . . i’m sorry y/n. please, forgive me.”
you dropped your hand from her chin, rolling your eyes at her and taking a step back, “because i’m not entirely a cold hearted bitch, i accept your apology. i’ll act like this never happened and you won’t mention it again. everyone in that circle is probably too drunk to remember this anyway, and if they mention it, you best act like you don’t know who jungwon is.”
she nodded quickly, you would think her neck would’ve snapped off as she scurried up the stairs and as far away from the two of you as possible.
you turned your attention to your boyfriend who was looking at you in disbelief, “you are so fucked up, y/n.”
shrugging your shoulders, you grabbed him by his wrist and pulled him into the exact room he left with jaehee.
as soon as the door was closed and locked, your back was pressed against it and jungwon’s mouth was on yours.
you pushed your tongue in his mouth, wrapping your arms loosely around his neck as he pulled your leg up and over his hip so he could press himself into you.
that’s what you really loved about jungwon, he got hard over any physical contact between the two of you.
he was so attracted to you, it took nothing to get him to submit most of the time.
his hand snuck it's way under your skirt, fingers pushing your panties to the side, "it's sick how wet you get from this."
you let out a moan when his fingers came into contact with your clit, rubbing it in figure eights, "it's sick how much you enjoy doing this."
jungwon chuckled, attaching his lips back to yours as he continued rubbing you, "mmh, but that's what makes this game so fun. it's the same routine, no wondering what will happen next except how you'll scar whatever girl fell into my trap."
your lips carved into a frown, grabbing his hand to stop his movements on your cunt, "excuse me?"
"it's not an insult," he quickly added, "but it'll be the same. i'll finger you, you'll go down on me but won't let me finish until you cum at least twice, and then i fuck you and we're done."
as true as this was. . . you didn't like that he was basically mocking you. jungwon and you did have the same routine every time you played this twisted game, but that doesn't mean he had to say it out loud and ruin the fuck.
"hm," you simply said, dropping his hand from your grip, "continue."
"i'm not trying to insult you," he whispered against the shell of your ear as he slid two fingers into you, groaning at how they sucked him in, "i'm sorry if i did."
"it's fine," you bit out, trying to focus on how his skilled fingers moved in and out of you, "but you're wrong."
the way jungwon curled his fingers inside of you had you see stars, and almost change your mind about what you were about to say.
"wrong about what?" jungwon pressed his palm against you, giving your clit the pressure you needed, cunt clenching around his hands desperately.
a squeal escaped you as you felt yourself reach your peak, gripping his shoulders tightly as you rode this high out, "'m gonna make you cum until you're crying and begging me to have mercy on you."
jungwon removed his fingers from your panties, adjusting your skirt before bringing his hand to your lips, "suck."
you grabbed his wrist, moving his hand to his face, "no, you suck, and just for that, another orgasm added to this list, fuckin' brat."
oh it was going to be a long night.
end!

— " 𝐈𝐍 𝐀 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃 𝐎𝐅 𝐏𝐔𝐑𝐄 𝐈𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 " | Listen to this on loop for full experience.... ★. Content tags/warnings , 1.1k+ words, gender neutral reader, technically everyone x reader (including staff/not so much RSA), can be seen as both platonic and romantic, angst, mentions of food/eating less (reader no longer has an appetite), reader is tired, reader is having a really bad day, reminder: I haven't written in awhile.
Today was a difficult day, many days have challenged you in so many different ways, yet a keen feeling of gloominess had washed over you this particular morning. Your alarm rang blankly into the silent room, you let out a groan of displeasure as you sat up on your bed, staring blankly at the wall feeling a churn in your gut. The curtains were closed, a small ray of light shone through the empty space between your window and the fabric of the curtain; you took a moment to sit and stretch.
Mentally you cursed yourself, reaching a hand to shut off your phone alarm. Perhaps it was a bad idea staying up late after all, yet how could you resist the urge to finish that new Twisted Wonderland fanfic you found on AO3 recently; The reader resonated deeply with you, and the author's writing was just what you needed. Your eyes stung, you felt like banging your head into your headboard just to stop it from ringing and aching, not to mention you could practically feel the weight of your eyebags.—had you known your body would behave in such a way, you'd have slept at least a bit earlier—Well that's what you're saying now at least, you knew you'd probably repeat the same mistake tonight if another storyline enraptured you just as much as the previous did.
You began standing up, your whole body woozy from the lack of sleep, you found yourself stumbling over something you left on the floor. You recall how tired you were, too done with the day to be bothered to pick it back up. You walked right past it, 'today was going to end badly' you thought to yourself, since your morning had been a dead giveaway.
You pocketed some random snack, as breakfast; Running a bit later as per usual. You'd lie to yourself, saying that you'd get up a bit earlier tomorrow but you knew for a fact that unless a miracle happened, you wouldn't.
The rest of the day was but the same routine, you felt tired all throughout your morning classes, on edge. You would've fallen asleep but you tried to keep your eyes open, as your professor was going over some important project intel that you really didn't want to miss—though you were only half understanding what they were saying—their words felt like gibberish for your only half-functioning brain.
Lunch felt like a chore, despite it usually feeling like a break. You felt like something bad was definitely going to happen, which made you feel anxious; The churn in your gut made it difficult to eat, chew, or drink. Your lunches weren't all that gigantic, as you disliked the feeling of being bloated, yet you barely could find it in yourself to eat. You took a deep breath, you logged into tumblr, perhaps one of your favorite fanfic writers uploaded something new? Anything to distract this heavy mind of yours.
You checked @kalims page first, they hadn't uploaded in a while—It's been a couple days since they've posted; you figured they'd be busy with school… You pondered on the following page for a while, checking @spadecentral‘s blog, they were far more active then most other blogs you’ve been following and their soft and sweet writings was perhaps just what you needed in this tim—They haven’t uploaded in a while as well? You looked at your screen, maybe everyone was just busy with their finals and/or finishing up midterms at this time.
You hummed, scrolling frantically through your follows, you sighed softly, maybe today wasn't the day to read fluff, you started checking yandere blogs; ‘nothing like obsessive men to calm you down’ you thought as you clicked on @writingforatwistedworld‘s blog, you scrolled down..
‘Weird, nothing new..’, it was as if the whole world had conspired against you today, you took a sigh, perhaps @honey-milk-depresso had uploaded something new on her art blog, after all their wholesome tsundere ship art was just the perfect source of serotonin—And if you were just a bit lucky, perhaps she’s uploaded writing onto her main blog an—Oh.. She hasn’t uploaded either?..
Your brows furrowed letting out a tired sigh, maybe you should just listen to some music. ‘How bad could this day possibly go?’—you consoled yourself with those words, as you tried finishing up at least a small portion of your meal.
You forced yourself to clean up and change, crashing onto your bed afterwards. It always felt softer on these sorts of days. Like a welcoming warm embrace, that you didn't want to leave. You took a few moments to vent your stress onto one of your poor pillows, before getting nice and cozy with your warm blankets.
You laid down on your bed, burying yourself in the blankets, as you grabbed your device from near you, turning the brightness to the lowest possible setting, perhaps you should finish your general tasks on Twst before you take a nap..
10 minutes passed and you let out a groan, where did the app go? You never heard of an app disappearing randomly; perhaps you miss-clicked and hid it by accident? A few minutes passed, and you still couldn't find the Twisted Wonderland app, you desperately opened up your computer.. Typing in panic, and yet the official website was gone as well—perhaps it’s just going through some weird update?—Maybe this was only happening to certain servers. You logged into tumblr once again, checking your mutuals profiles and.. some of them were gone? Most of the blogs had nothing from Twisted Wonderland left, the tumblr tags for Twst were completely empty.
Two hours had only passed and your panic grew, it was odd. You scrolled through your mutual’s blogs for minutes on end hoping to find one post about the game which put a smile on your face on the daily... Yet none... You went on AO3 and even checked other websites which you'd only go to out of sheer desperation for content... Yet nothing...
You took deep breaths, your breathing pacing as you scrolled till your fingers began to sting from pressure and stress.. Your back arched, as you stared at the screen with an intense expression, desperately tapping away… finally you entered the app store hoping this was a weird dream or update, like those movies and manga’s and yet.. the app was gone. No mention of it.
You couldn’t even trace a single picture of the game down, not even on Pinterest where everything deleted was still sometimes somehow available.
'Were you crying? You couldn't quite tell, you felt tired, perhaps this fictional world was just something you created as an escape, yet you didn't think you'd get this attached to some characters on a screen, and now that's it's all gone you feel... kind of.. empty.'
‘Maybe it was all just a fragment of your imagination…’

Author's Notes: hiii! finally, finally i have a fic for my boy carlos prepared. fun fact: the cat carlos has/had is named after a character from a kid's comics in brazil: a boy named cascão who simply HATES water! all credits for the image go to @rysanf who so kindly let me use it their image, thank you so much! check their blog they have the BEST pictures (i mean it)! enjoy your reading!!
You slam the door of your boyfriend's apartment, tears flowing down your eyes. How could he? After years and years of commitment and promises of eternal love? For you get dumped just like that? You are furious, the ring on your finger burning against your skin. You have to get it out. You pull it and throw as far away as possible, almost hitting Carlos Oliveira returning home.
"Oh, sorry, Carlos, sorry!" You murmur as he looks at you, tears falling down your eyes.
"You okay?" Carlos asks, worried. You shake your head, looking down at your feet, sniffling.
Carlos ponders for a moment before opening the door of his apartment. You think he will leave you alone, but he keeps the door open, motioning with his head for you to come in.
-x-
It doesn't take a genius to figure out you broke up with your boyfriend, especially for Carlos Oliveira, who almost got hit by your ring; Carlos never liked your boyfriend that much. He never treated Carlos wrong or anything, but something didn't sit right for him.
It could have been with the fact that on the day your ex moved to the building, Carlos watched you carry a heavy box while your ex carried a much lighter one. Not wanting to jump to any conclusions, Carlos immediately offered you two help, and your eyes went from his muscular arm before looking at his face and thanking him.
Your ex never liked how comfortable you were with Carlos, but you used to tell him that was nothing to worry about. Because, well, there really wasn't. You would never have cheated on your boyfriend, and Carlos was way out of your league.
That didn't stop you from secretly admiring Carlos. Since your first meeting, the electricity pierced your veins when you accidentally bumped into or touched each other. There was a particular tension even when you two crossed eyes, but nothing you would act on it.
Today is different.
You enter Carlos's apartment, and he closes the door. You are furious, angry, upset and confused. You sigh, looking around. It is your first time in Carlos's apartment: it is definitely not what you imagined. It is much more comfortable and full of light. You instantly feel safe and much calmer there.
"You want some water?" Carlos's voice comes from the kitchen, and you answer a distracted yes, your eyes wandering around his living room, stopping by his bookshelf.
There are a few pictures in there: one of a much younger Carlos with an older woman, both smiling, which you judged to be his grandmother. Another one of a big black cat with green eyes, which makes you smile.
"I see you found Cascão's picture."
Carlos is at your side, offering you a cup of water. You thank him, drinking it in a few gulps.
"You have a cool place," You tell him as you are done. The cold water feels good against your throat. "Not what I would have imagined, anyway."
"Not as manly?" Carlos teases, and you shake your head, embarrassed. He chuckles. "Don't worry, I get that a lot. Not what you would imagine from a guy like me."
Carlos and you cross stares as he finishes saying this, and a chill goes down your spine. The tension is palpable in the air, especially after you notice Carlos probably just came from the gym: his hair is wet, some droplets in his dark jacket. Your eyes go down to his gray pants, and you are gulping. You shake your head, placing the cup on his bookshelf before you mumble an apology and move to the exit. Carlos holds gently into your arm, his dark eyes scanning your expression.
"You didn't tell me what happened," Carlos whispers, his tone so soft and caring that your legs turn into jelly.
You should leave now, you think. You should leave before you commit some sort of mistake with Carlos. Ignore that he is also breathing rapidly, his dark eyes focused on your lips. Ignore your heart beating fast against your chest and your body screaming to kiss him.
But that's what you do. You kiss him, and Carlos doesn't open his mouth back when you lock your lips with his. You separate, thinking you screwed up.
"I am sorry, I shouldn't have—" You start before Carlos holds into your shoulders, scanning if you are serious.
"No," Carlos answers, his eyes focused on you. "But do you want this?"
You nod. You have never been more sure of something in your entire life.
-x-
You are in Carlos's bed in no time. You know you want this: you have wanted this since the first time you saw him. Carlos kisses your neck brings you back to the present as he takes the last piece of your clothing, your panties.
If you knew you would be in Carlos's bed, you would have worn something more sexy. He doesn't seem to mind your cringy comfortable pair of panties, no, his eyes are full of desire from the top of your head to your toes. He is engraving you on his mind, taking you all in. You are much, much more beautiful than he imagined; how many times has he touched himself and fantasized about you spread like that in his bed?
"Are you still sure about this? Last chance."
"I want you, Carlos. Always had."
Your confession seems to awaken something in him, and Carlos doesn't have to hear more. He shoves two fingers inside your wet cunt, making your back arch. Your hands look for him, anything you can hold, as Carlos fingers you, keeping a steady pace. Carlos watches, fascinated by your pleasure expressions as you bite your lips down.
This is much better than any fantasy he had.
When Carlos finally, finally hits your pleasure point, his thumb focusing on your clit, you place your hands over your mouth so you don't scream. That's when Carlos realizes: he left his window open, so enchanted with you that he was, curtains and everything. A window right in front of your ex's bedroom. He motions to get up and close, but you hold into him, shaking your head.
"As you wish."
You are so close now, so close. But you don't want to cum without him, but it has been so long since your last orgasm. You try to move away from Carlos to signal you are about to cum, but he keeps you there, his movements much faster now. When you finally cum, your toes curl as your entire body shakes.
Carlos waits for you to recover, your breasts coming up and down. You look at him, drunk with your orgasm, as Carlos finally starts to undress, his eyes never losing contact with yours. Now it is your time to be left speechless: Carlos's body is built like a freaking Greek God or a statue to represent the peak of a male body. Your eyes wander from his toned hairy chest down, his arm, his abs, and his pubic hair. Your eyes widen slightly when you stop by his dick, and you wonder if you will survive tonight. Carlos wants to be gentle, he really wants to, but you bring something feral inside of him.
He needs to have you.
"Ready?" Carlos asks, and you gulp, nodding.
Carlos enters you slowly, groaning, feeling you squeezing down on him. It had also been too long for him: with his line of work, he was allowed a quickie here and maybe his hand at some night. Carlos knows he isn't going to last, not with your pussy squeezing him down so deliciously. You are perfect, made for him. His eyes roll in his head, and he needs a moment inside you to calm down and control himself.
"You are so tight. So warm," Carlos declares, his voice soft.
You can only bite your lips in response, your legs locking around his hips as your arms hold into his back. You need to hold onto something so you don't lose your mind. Before Carlos can start moving, he has a sudden idea.
"Hold tight onto me," He whispers in your ear.
You don't even care what he is about to do, Carlos could do anything with you at this point.
Carlos lifts you from the bed, and you hide your face into his neck, inhaling his smell. Carlos carries you near the wall close to his open window. Your back welcomes the coldness of the wall until he starts moving, poking directly into your cervix. You sob, attempting to keep your voice down.
"Hey, hey, look at me. Look at me." Carlos demands, and you open your eyes to find his staring directly at you: full of passion and lust. "Do not hold back. I want to hear you," Another thrust, making you wince with pleasure. "I want this whole building to hear you."
His hands go to your ass, keeping you steady as he snaps, his balls slapping against your ass. The way Carlos is gazing at you should give you an orgasm alone. It has gotten too much, and your voice comes out loud with every thrust. You scream his name, scream "Harder and faster!" You don't care anymore if the whole building can hear you. You want them to hear.
"That is it... let it all out," Carlos whispers in your ear, satisfied, biting your neck.
You both won't last, and Carlos's thrusts become even more erratic. You pull his hair, moaning incoherent things, when finally, the pressure into your core becomes too much, and you cum, screaming Carlos's name so loud you wouldn't be surprised an innocent bystander by the street could hear you.
"That is it, that is my good girl," Carlos whispers as he gives one final thrust before cumming himself. He grunts, his seed filling your walls, and he hides the face on your neck, giving one final bite.
Carlos slowly pulls away from you, a small, proud smile on his face as he sees small spasms in your body, a satisfied smile on your lips. He carries you into bed, placing you there gently, and when Carlos looks up, he thinks he sees a shadow in your ex's window.
Carlos can't help but smile, closing his curtains before joining you in bed. You seem awake now, and you look embarrassed. Breathless but embarrassed. You look adorable, Carlos thinks.
"You okay? Need water?" Carlos asks, lying at your side. He rests his head on his arm and places his arms around your stomach.
"Yeah. I am fine." Your eyes can't meet his. Carlos is worried you regretted this. He doesn't want to ask, but he decides to joke, "Regretting this already?"
"N-no! No!" You seem shocked, shaking your head. "No! I just- it is complicated."
"I get it. You just broke up with your boyfriend. Things aren't supposed to be easy..."
You sigh, staring into his attentive eyes.
"I don't want you to feel like I have used you, Carlos."
"If that is how it is, I can always be used by you. You call, and I answer." Carlos giggles, content you don't regret him.
"Of course you would," You laugh back, hitting light on his arm.
"I mean, I could invite you to dinner if you want. To make you feel less guilty," Carlos says, the teasing tone disappearing as he looks serious in your direction. You play with the hair on his arms, thinking.
"I would like that," You admit, a warm fuzzy feeling installs on his chest.
"Good."
Carlos kisses you on top of your forehead before nuzzling at your side. Not even five minutes pass until he falls asleep, and you watch him, his expression calm. You smile, closing your eyes.

so this is love?
tartaglia
childe wasn't one to cling to women, he believed they should be delicately cherished and loved. but love? that was a weighty word for him, one that carries significant responsibilities. thus, he didn't actively seek for a relationship. not that anyone in particular caught his interest. or so he thought.
it wasn't until he found himself stupidly stuttering whenever your name was mentioned or your presence was around, silently muttering profanities over how dumb he sounded. he didn't understand why he felt the need to appear and sound good around you, but he knew he just had to.
childe would often find himself eyeing various objects, pondering if you'd appreciate them as gifts. expenses were, of course, of no concern. he'd even give you the moon if you asked for it.
under Liyue's city lights, you looked so beautiful, seated together on a bench as evening descended. you gazed up at him with a nervous smile as you extended him a small sky blue box tied with a delicate white ribbon.
he glanced down at your hands and then back at your face, his cheeks coloring with a blush, completely taken aback by your gesture.
"you’re always so generous to me and i never have anything to give you in return, so i made you this.” you say with a smile, gently taking his hand and undoing the ribbon on the box. revealing a beautiful conch necklace, his eyes widen slightly in surprise.
taking the necklace from the box, you set it aside gently before turning your gaze up at him with head tilted slightly. with a smile, you lean in closer, slipping the necklace around his neck before pulling away to admire how lovely it looks on him.
tartaglia looks down at you, nervously scratching the back of his head as he chuckles, "you know you didn't have to.”
“i wanted to.” you grin in return, gently taking his hands in yours as you gaze up at him. noticing the puzzled expression mingled with a blush on his face.
"i could love you.” he nervously blurts out, shooting you a hesitant glare. your eyes widen in surprise, feeling a flush spread across your cheeks at his unexpected confession.
“i could love you too, tartaglia.”
this was inspired by the song despair by leo!! hehe listened to it while i was writing

Desire is such a futile thing. Grasping at a fleeting fit of passion that will be over in just a few breaths. Yearning for a moment ever so brief, it was like it never even began. It only continues to ponder you as you stare at the book of forgotten history, tucked between an old Jane Eyre and newly found poetry. It's an odd place, but Soobin himself is odd. He thought that it would allow someone to find a new interest – resting unlike books next to one another. You yourself didn't even know the book existed until you stumbled upon it. Your fingers glide along the pages, many dog-eared. A part of you hopes that whenever Soobin comes back he could tell you why he noted these particular pages. If he ever does, that is. The lump in your throat continues. You flip a page with hopes to distract yourself.
The multitude of Fae folk is still unknown. Ranging from the dozens to hundreds, not one researcher agrees on how many exactly exist, or if they truly exist at all. But what we all know is that it begins with disappearances.
Until a town is drained dry.
You close the book, the familiar chill creeping up again. The store is closed now and you've checked twice to make sure it's empty. There is no real reason why you feel fear. But you're not one to ignore it. You tuck the book away, locking up the front gates to the store and exiting promptly, the apartment above the store left abandoned.
It has been over a month now since Soobin has disappeared. You've been interviewed by the local sheriff's department for your involvement and your plea for innocence was believed. No one could say nor prove it was your fault that Soobin suddenly vanished. Nothing tied you to it. Even the townsfolk, as bitter as they may be that you weren't the one to leave, told the police that you were at various stores in town when he was no longer around. You could only thank them. Perhaps your reputation isn't as heinous as you once thought.
Contacting his family was your biggest fear. His parents told you that Soobin called at the time, explaining he needed time away then never called again. They aren't as worried as you, apologizing for the way he broke up with you. Neither of you understand why he just left. It's not like him. He fights tooth and nail and never just leaves. Foul play has been ruled out but you just can't wrap your head around it. The two of you loved one another. Giving up that easily… Do you even know the real Choi Soobin?
Have you ever?
"Haven't I told you not to walk home alone?"
Seonghwa appears next to you as he always does. Hands tucked in his sleek trench coat, the same friendly smile on his lips. His strange appearance is nothing new. A few times a week he seemingly conjures up on empty streets and sidewalks to walk you home. Only another check on your list of him not being human. He never threatened you nor persuaded you with anything nefarious as of yet, but his presence still brought fear. One day the visits wouldn't be so meaningless. One day he won't be as kind.
"There's no one ever around for me to be scared, Hwa," you say. "Unless you want me to be afraid of you."
"You should be mindful. Not everyone is as they seem. You should know from experience."
Whether or not his words are a purposeful jab is frivolous, but they do sting. "Feels like a warning for me to stay away from you, Seonghwa."
He doesn't stop walking, his voice is softer this time. "I didn't mean it that way. You know that."
You do. Since you've met the mysterious man all he's done is stand up for you. Irritate the locals with his snarky remarks, enough so that many began to leave you alone. Sure, the lack of customers is quite severe at this moment, it was better than having to force a smile on your lips as they mentioned how Soobin ran the store better than you ever have. There's only so many strained smiles you could muster.
But trusting Seonghwa? The creature of the night who you are ninety-five percent sure is a Faerie? An Unseelie one at that? You can only hold back your scoff. What you have found about them is helpful. One of which you haven't tested yet – whether or not they could lie. Now is a prime opportunity. You glance at the man walking next to you, before speaking. Low ball questions first, before you can gradually ask the important ones.
"Do you think I'm doing well?" You ask.
His brow raises. "Change of subject?"
"A bit, but not really. I just… it's been a lot, being on my own now. I was self-sufficient before I met him and still am, but things are different. I wanted this dream with him. I wanted to struggle with him. Sometimes I wonder if all of this is worth it. If I should even wait for him."
"You are doing well," he murmurs. "As well as a human can under these circumstances."
Your chest begins to tighten at his words. The thought of proving yourself right is gone. The sincerity of his goes in one ear and out the other. Only one word you can focus on. One sticking out in the sentence, bile gathering at the back of your throat.
Human.
No one you've met in your entire life speaks of people that way. You struggle to hold your poker face. Pretend that nothing is wrong. You take a slow breath. "Thank you."
"It's not a problem. Ah, I must go now though, my family will be wondering where I am by now," he glances at his watch, before shooting you a small smile. "I will see you soon, y/n. Have a good rest."
He turns on his heels before you can say more, disappearing into the night. You hold your bag closer to yourself, steps quickening. You have little option left. You can't leave the town no matter how much you want to – that'll mean leaving the bookstore behind. A sound minded person would forget about it and just leave but you can't. Despite how disappointed you are for Soobin leaving you alone, you can't leave the store. It's silly, but you still care about him. It'll hurt you to see the store fall apart. You just hope he'll come back soon.
Maybe then he'll be able to tell you if you're being delusional or not.
-
"She knows." Seonghwa enters his home, frustration coating his features. "I fucked it up and now she knows."
"Told you~" Wooyoung's falsetto tone rings through the corridors. "I should have gone to her instead."
The glare Seonghwa sends him is enough for Wooyoung to drop his grin, exiting the room. Jongho and Yunho are the only other two in the room, both focused on reading. They're underdressed for this time of night; Seonghwa knows that Hongjoong planned another visit to the human world for food. And it's their turn to join them, though they look too involved in their own separate readings to even change out of their sleepwear. Yunho looks up from the writings.
"On a scale from Hongjoong tripping on a rock to Mingi setting fire to a village, how bad?"
Seonghwa sighs. "I said humans in front of her."
Jongho winces, "No coming back from that. What did you do after?"
"I panicked and left. Her heart rate picked up and her perspiration began coating her forehead. I thought I would be able to last longer–"
"She is quite intelligent. It wouldn't have taken her longer than another week to put the pieces together. You just sped up the process," Yunho murmurs. "But the question still remains: How do we explain this to everyone else?"
"We don't," Jongho closes his book softly, glancing between them. "Wooyoung is very likely running around our home right now telling every living soul what happened. We'll just have to deal with the repercussions. She knows now, which means that she will avoid you Seonghwa. And will very likely be wary of any new people hovering around her. It won't be as easy this time to convince her to come here."
"We keep her here then?" Yunho suggests.
"No…" Seonghwa stops pacing, thinking. "She trusts me. At least more than the rest of us. I can convince her to come here willingly."
"Can you?"
Seonghwa frowns. He's not too sure. He's broken it at this point. Struggling to mend it back together will just take too long. You'll slip right through their fingers. So despite how much he does not want to consider this choice, it's all he has. Perhaps the incessant little voice in the back of his head is correct.
"Wooyoung may be able to. I know we've avoided his particular methods, but there's little left to be done. The rest of us aren't as friendly as him, aside from Yunho. And you often avoid humans entirely because of your attachment issues."
Yunho frowns, "Thanks for pointing that out."
"Your decision has come too late," Another voice interrupts them, their gaze moving to the door. San leans on the threshold, cross arms against his chest. "The little turnip has already left our home. It's only a matter of time that he stumbles upon her path."
Their combined groans echo around the room.
-
Wooyoung sits on the edge of the stone fence, leg swinging. He can recall Seonghwa saying that he saw you meander by this path often, but it’s been several days now and Wooyoung himself hasn’t seen you once. Perhaps it was a different path? His fingers run along the stone, humming. Moss covers the gray now, the elements turning it into a darkened, brown color. He whispers into his fingers, pressing them back to the stone. His gaze softens when he sees the color slowly coming back.
“Humans,” he murmurs, scowling. A sweet smell fills his nose. He looks up from the rock, licking his lips. You stand at the end of the path, frozen in your spot. Your hands grip the straps of your bag. Eyes widened in fear. His match yours, but instead in glee, hopping off his spot. You don’t move – even as he slides down the hill, stopping just in front of you.
His hair is long and wavy, framing his cheeks. Kind eyes that seem to be without malice. But you’re not too sure of that. Faeries have a way of concealing their true intentions without much effort. He pushes strands away from his face, tucking it behind his ear. His wear is unusual – mossy green transparent attire adorning his slim frame, barefoot, though no sign of torn skin from the rough ground. You wrinkle your nose. Dwelling on odd observations won't pull you out of this situation.
“y/n. Seonghwa never told me you were easy on the eyes. It’ll be sadder for me to dance with you now,” he frowns, gaze flicking over your face. Dance?
He leans forward. “Your aura is bright. You remind me of a sunset.”
You try and pretend the familiar name does not phase you. It's difficult – you've suspected endlessly that Seonghwa is a faerie and his words are merely confirmation. So maybe this is a friend of his, or family? Either way it doesn't matter to you. Sticking around is the last thing you want.
“I have to be somewhere,” you say through tight lips. He shrugs, taking another step toward you. Panic settles in your chest. No one is around, no one would stop him even if they were. You're all alone in this. “Sir, pardon me–”
“Oh!” He grins, laughing. “Sir? Do not tease me, human. My name is Wooyoung. Ah wait, look at this my lux solaris.” He turns his hand over, palm facing you. You look away from it, a sigh echoing around you. “I won’t kill you, you know.”
“That doesn’t mean you won’t hurt me.” A quick thought crosses your mind: where’s Soobin when you need him? Just as the silly thought appears it's gone. Nowhere. Nowhere around here for all you know. You hate how your mind next moves to the kind Seonghwa. Would he do anything? Or will he only allow this to happen? And why are you depending so much on a man – no, faerie.
He purses his lips, “You know the way of the fae. Fine, I won’t hurt you or ensnare you or kill you in any way right now. Now look,” he nudges you slightly. You finally move your eyes down to his hand. Using his other hand, he drags his pointer finger across his palm. A bright yellow path follows it, disappearing off the edge of his palm. His eyes flick to yours, grin widening.
“It is solaris, like you.” he closes his fist, “I’ve practiced that trick for hundreds of years now, you know. It’s hard for humans to see the Will o’ the Wisp without falling prey. So you must be quite special."
You back away from him, "It was a trick?"
"No, because I can't lie as you know," he rolls his eyes. "I just knew you wouldn't fall underneath the spell because we have tried it already on you, silly."
…
"Excuse me?"
"You are resistant to our will, solaris. And none of us quite know why. I'm here to pretend to woo you and guide you back to our home to do testing. By any means necessary. And if my surly words don't work, I'll do it by force."
Everything he says confuses you more and more. "Why would you tell me you're to lure me?"
His smile slips. "What would you rather me do, lie? You know yourself that Unseelie cannot lie. So why shall I tread around the truth?"
"Will Seonghwa be there?"
He rolls his eyes. "Of course. He needs to be there so he can see that my method works much better than he has ever done or ever will."
"... Is there any way for me to get out of this?"
He pouts, shaking his head. "Of course not."
Debating on running would be also silly then. He lets you ponder, folded hands resting behind him as he paces. You look back at the path. Just as you're about to turn, Wooyoung appears by your side. His sudden presence makes you stumble, falling back to the sidewalk. He sighs, watching as you gather your things and stand again.
"Running would be useless. I can just make you come with me solaris. But I want to make this easy."
"Kidnapping someone is never easy," you murmur between tight lips. Why did you ever decide to enter this town? It seems like every signal mythical creature around is appearing. It wouldn't shock you if Soobin suddenly appeared, explaining his disappearance is due to him being a merman. The thought makes you snort.
Wooyoung grins. "Now you understand! Let's go!" He touches your elbow lightly, and before you can shove him off, an uneasy feeling settles over you. It grips your skin, painfully pulling against the surface before your surroundings change. You can barely breathe, falling to the grass beneath you. The sidewalk from before is gone, replaced with thickened underbrush and endless woods. You swallow, mouth dry.
"Hm," he bends down, eyes roaming over you once. "Perhaps Hongjoong was right when he told me humans couldn't demanifest."
"You're sick," you manage to speak, coughing. Your body slowly begins to feel like your own, trembles cascading through you. Wooyoung does nothing to help, looking you over as you finally bring yourself back to the reality in front of you. It's difficult to stand but you manage. Your bag is gone, probably somewhere between the split of reality he just dragged you through. "Never do that again."
"I won't. Demanifestation seemed to have done a number on you and I apologize for that. But it appears that a part of you was left behind."
You immediately touch your body. Your clothes are intact, fingers touching your hair. You look at him in confusion, his wicked smile stretching across his cheeks. The breath that comes out feels louder than before.
"You tricked me."
"No," his brows furrow. "Your bag. It's still back on the sidewalk. But your town is … well, I'm sure it will remain in the same place."
There's no reason to reply, steadying yourself. You look around, the forest too dense for you to see any opening. Whether you like it or not, you're stuck with the faerie. He knows it as well.
"We're done after this?"
He doesn't say a word.
—
“Our home is quite simple since we live in the middle of the Rowan trees. We have to make sure it’s hidden enough from both humans and other faeries,” he explains. You notice how light his steps are, as if he is floating over bricks, barely making an imprint in the dirt. Unlike yourself – stumbling ungracefully over rocks and forestry, trying your best to stabilize yourself. Wooyoung doesn’t point out your lack of coordination, still speaking about the grandeur of a house that’s … the opposite? You're not too sure on the nuances.
“There’s no need to worry,” he says after a moment, stopping just in front of you. "I'm not bringing you to your death."
"You vaporized me and transported me to the middle of a forest, and shortly after told me you didn't realize it would bother me. So I'm sorry if I don't exactly trust anything you say to me."
"It's true," he whines. You stare at him strangely. He has to be much older than you – Unseelie live to unfathomable ages from what you've read. They're conniving and humorous to capture you but after, ruthless and unforgiving. Now that Wooyoung has you, you can't see why he's still acting so silly. Humorous even. You might even enjoy his company if you weren't in the situation you are right now.
"Okay," you murmur.
He holds out his hand. Fear curls in you as you take his. His skin is warm, fingers entwining in yours with ease. He stares ahead, humming. "Humans can't see our home since we're quite close to neighborhoods. Hold onto me until we pass the threshold, alright? And don't let go until I tell you. It'll feel as if your body is being torn apart if you don't pass through properly. Do you understand?" There isn't any teasing like before, eyes focused. You nod, and he matches you. With his free hand, he holds it out.
The air seems to shimmer and bend beneath his fingertips, twisting reality. Just as quick as he does it, your surroundings change. What was once endless forest is now a large structure in the middle of overgrown trees. The home looks pristine despite its surroundings, vines covering and growing into the brickface. It looks to be three floors, a wrap around porch, all of the windows and doors ajar. Wooyoung lets out a sigh of relief. His fingers begin to slip from yours. Your own grip tightens and he furrows his brows, confused.
“Hm?” His lips part, recognition. “Ah, I’ve pulled you through the fabric of reality already, solaris. You can let go whenever you like. Though I don’t mind continuing to hold you.”
You let go, his laugh echoing through the forest. Without pause he walks toward the home, not bothering to turn and see if you’d follow. You do, of course. There’s no reason for you to try and run away now, you’re deep enough in the woods that you’d lose your sense of direction and end up lost. The smell of something sweet glides through the low breeze. Cinnamon-like. Wooyoung enters through the front doors, glancing around before turning down a hallway.
“No one’s around,” he murmurs, glancing back at you. “Seonghwa should be here soon though, he’s not out with the others.”
You pass by an open kitchen. Everything is neat and tidy, table set with lavish flatware and utensils. As you squint, you’re sure it’s made out of some type of gemstone. He continues down the hall.
“He’ll be going to his library first, so we should wait there.”
You stick closer to him now, carefully maneuvering so that your shoes don’t stumble over loose vines moving in and out of the hardwood. The doors down this hallway are closed, locks hanging from the knobs. You don’t say a word but he seems to notice your expression, grinning.
“Unseelie are quite forgetful when it comes to locks. We’ve locked ourselves out enough from places around here that we thought it best to just leave the keys in the knob.”
“None of you are afraid of an intruder?”
He chuckles, “No one would dare enter without our permission, solaris. That’s just a death wish.”
He opens the doors at the end of the hall, beckoning you inside and closing the door behind the two of you. The room is enormous, stories high shelving, endless literature surrounding you. Some titles you recognize from your own bookstore, others unfamiliar. There’s a lot in languages you cannot begin to understand or recognize. It seems endless as your eyes roam. Your stomach twists. Soobin would have loved to see this for himself.
“Ah, he must have cleaned up,” Wooyoung murmurs. “Wonder if he saw the mess Jongho left.”
You walk around slowly, careful not to disturb anything. “How many of you live here?”
“Why? Want a room?” Wooyoung sits on the edge of a table, legs swinging. “I don’t mind it.”
“Just want to know what I’m dealing with,” you frown.
“Hm,” he stretches his fingers, counting beneath his breath, “One, two… Eight. Including me.”
Eight Unseelies. And that's just the amount that live near your home. You can only imagine how many roam the streets, disguised as humans. Dwelling among you. You called the townspeople silly for believing in such superstitions. Now they would just laugh in your face if they knew the truth.
"The people missing…?" You trail off.
Wooyoung doesn't respond to your inquiry. He's moved towards a desk, flipping through the pages in silence. You almost repeat it until he turns to you, eyes flicking between yours.
"We simply ask for a dance. It's their decision on whether they'd like to take our hand. You are your own maker. It's more fun that way.”
A chill passes over you.
He balances a flask between his fingers, humming an unfamiliar tune. Allowing him to drag you through the forbidden Rowan trees into their home is not exactly what you planned, but is there any other choice? Figuring out what he is, what they are, is another point added to your list. There’s just no plan after it. So what if they’re Unseelie? The townsfolk would rather sacrifice you than their own family members. And you can’t blame them. They’ve already blamed the disappearances on you. This will only be something else added to their endless list of hating you.
"You scare me."
Wooyoung looks at you, eyes seemingly somewhere else entirely. "A wise choice."
The door slides open, familiar hands gripping the panel before sliding it back. His eyes slide over to Wooyoung, before looking at you. He lets out the loudest sound you’ve heard from him, groans bouncing against the walls. It’s a bit surprising to see him in such fancy wear, close to what he wore when you first met. His fingers gently rub his temples, obscenities mumbled under his breath.
“You’re just getting worse by every moment,” he murmurs, shaking his head. “If I were Hongjoong you would have been thrown to the Seelie by now.”
“You wouldn’t!” Wooyoung gasps. It’s very much exaggerated, eyes wide. The moment that just passed between the two of you long gone.
“I would. Fortunate for you that I cannot,” he barely glances at you. “You’d follow a stranger into the woods? Have you not listened to any of the words I’ve said?” His tone is harsher than before, formerly kind eyes filled with mire. It was quite silly of you to think that for a second he actually did enjoy your presence. Unseelie are the way they are. He is no different than the rest.
“I had no choice, he threatened the town.”
Seonghwa rolls his eyes, “Of course he did. Why do you even care for a town that doesn’t care for you?”
“Why am I even here?” you say. Seonghwa does not bother to reply to you, fingers gracing one of the leather bound books. He walks past the two of you, lounging in the chair in the farthest corner.
“Hello?”
“Seonghwa wants to experiment on you,” Wooyoung shrugs. “Each attempt that he’s tried to use his abilities on you has faltered. It’s like you’re immune to it. That’s why he’s been spending so much time with you, learning the way you work, your habits and schedules. To see if there’s some explanation for your resistance. Unfortunately he hasn’t found a lead yet. So, I decided to bring you here to see if any of the others can penetrate that strong will of yours, and for him to continue to conduct his research.”
"You're joking."
Wooyoung shakes his head. "Not in the slightest."
You grab your bag, ignoring the pleading eyes Wooyoung attempts to send you. He steps in your way and you only slide beneath his outstretched arms, leaving the room all together. Wooyoung turns around to catch Seonghwa's gaze, pout burned into his lips. Said man still doesn't look up from his book. Of course, Wooyoung could have stopped you if he truly wanted to. An Unseelie versus a human is an easy match. But his mate likes the theatrics of it all, so Seonghwa sinks further into his seat, frames resting on the tip of his nose. It's for show – none of the Unseelie have bad eyesight.
Wooyoung slumps over, knees hitting the mossy floors. "Hyung, please," he whines.
"Typical Wooyoung. Only respecting me when he needs something," Seonghwa murmurs, flipping a page. "Go after her, I'm not your babysitter. Preferably sooner rather than later, unless you want Jongho or Mingi to stumble across a human in our home."
"You're supposed to help me."
"Your mess, not mine," he points out. "Why do you expect me to clean it up? Do it yourself."
"What will you do if they think she's food?"
Seonghwa shrugs. “They know who she is already.”
"Your experiment!"
Seonghwa pauses in his reading for a moment, looking up. He does want to see what exactly is different about you. A clan member taking your life before it happens isn't what he wants. But he's grown tired of fixing things that aren't his problem. Especially one as monumental as this. He gets up, pushing past his grinning mate and exiting the room. It isn't hard to trace your tracks, your heartbeat louder than anyone else's in this home. He just hopes that he gets to you first.
—
Walking through the home is easy and straightforward. You don't bother glancing to the side, previously closed doors ajar casting fear in your heart. Wooyoung so easily lets his words flow, telling you that Seonghwa planned on experimenting, perhaps even dissecting you. All of it is too much, too soon. Too overwhelming for you to comprehend without losing your mind. You step out the front doors, suddenly stopping.
Wooyoung warned you of stepping through without holding his hand. Is that danger gone, or do you still have to worry? Are you forced to stay here against your will?
You should never have gone to that silly bonfire.
"You'll die if you leave without our permission."
You turn, Seonghwa standing there. His hands are tucked in the pocket of his cardigan, glancing over your shoulder. "We never leave it open. A few more yards and you'd be vaporized."
"Wouldn't you enjoy that?"
His lip quips, "Wooyoung told you that I wanted to experiment on you. It would be difficult to achieve that if you're only dust in the wind."
The change of personalities is still difficult to grasp.
"Then what do you propose?" You say.
"Stay longer. I'll let you go after I've tried a few things. None of it involves seriously injuring you. It's just blood sampling and majik tests. Should be no more than an hour. Once that is complete I will do further tests, but that will be in a few days."
"... and then you will let me go?"
He nods, "I have no reason for you to stay. You're not a real burden to us since no other faeries are around. As of now you’re no threat."
The alarms are blaring in your head as you stare at him, fidgeting with the hem of your sweater. His words aren't enough to convince you, but you have little choice. You need one of them to help you leave. And you're positive they wouldn't until you let Seonghwa do whatever he needs to test and see why you're resistant to them. There's nothing else to debate or dwell on. The front porch creaks, Wooyoung leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed. The same smug look on his face.
–
"Pretty," Yunho whispers to himself, sitting on the edge of the roof. He leans forward, dust and leaves from the tiles cascading down to the ground. It's as if in slow motion, your gaze flicking to the fallen leaves. Surprisingly, you don't look up to see where they've come from. Instead, you catch one between your fingers. Examining it for a brief moment you tuck it in your pocket, following Seonghwa into their home. Yunho almost slips as he follows your movements, flustered. He sighs, pressing his hands against his cheeks. They're quite warm despite the drop in degrees tonight.
Too pretty, he thinks. Humans aren't this pretty. The others said you weren't a faerie, but were you something else? He lets his thoughts linger, until the loud stomping of Mingi's feet distract him. He glances back, his friend sitting to the right of him. His clothing is freshly pressed. No evidence of tonight's events covering him.
"You're getting distracted already," Mingi points out, the front door closing behind you and Seonghwa. "This isn't something to attach yourself to, Yunho. An experiment and nothing else."
Yunho rolls his eyes, "I know I know, and I'm not getting distracted. She's just a human." He narrows his eyes. Right.
You're just a human.
—
"Arm."
Wooyoung’s eyes widen as he stands there, almost perturbed at the thought. “Pardon?”
Seonghwa rolls his eyes, “I need a baseline for the testing. Having your blood is necessary to see the differences and compare.”
“I don’t want to be used in your experiments on her!” Wooyoung’s voice rises, glancing at you. “Sorry.”
“No need,” you shrug. Your arm is wrapped, Seonghwa already pricked you with the small needle. Bottles of your blood sit on the side, labeled with symbols you recognize from Unseelie literature scattered about. He didn’t say anything to you as he took it from you, passed you a sugary drink and a cookie. It would have been endearing if he didn’t look so frustrated while doing it. You debated on calling him out at the look but again, you’d rather not irritate a being you know nothing of. The Seonghwa you’ve met is gone. Replaced with this angry and quite bitter Unseelie.
“Why do you make everything so difficult,” Seonghwa rubs his forehead. “Why are you even standing there if you’re not willing to help-”
“I’ll volunteer.”
Another voice enters the conversation, your gaze moving to the man who just entered the room. He’s taller than Seonghwa, quite tall actually. His face is kind, brown eyes filled with glee as they look at you. Unlike Wooyoung’s teasing which seems a bit unnerving at times, his look is easy. As if his lips naturally sit in a small smile. He lifts his sleeve, stepping around Wooyoung.
“Nice to finally see the shining star. I’m Yunho,” he holds out his hand and you take it. You can’t help but notice how despite how you always insisted that your hands are pretty big, he just engulfs yours.
“Hi. I’m y/n.”
He laughs softly, “That I know.”
Wooyoung’s voice rises. “Wait-”
“We don’t have time for the back and forth with you,” Seonghwa murmurs, beckoning Yunho closer. “Next time just say you’re okay with it and move on.”
Wooyoung’s frown only seems to deepen. He huffs, glancing between all of you before exiting the room. The door slams quite loudly, unable to stop yourself from flinching.
“It’ll be quick, you already know what to do,” Seonghwa says. Without another word he slides the needle into Yunho’s skin. You notice that his blood is clear, a thicker consistency than yours. Seonghwa pulls out several vials of it, the silence growing. Just as quick as he began it’s over. He grabs the vials, glancing between the two of you. “I’ll be back in a moment, talk amongst yourselves.” He walks off, murmuring something about refrigeration.
Yunho’s gaze easily slides over to yours. “I’m sorry about Wooyoung. He gets a bit antsy when it comes to things like this. We are wary of sharing their blood.”
“Can I ask why?”
He nods. “You might know a bit about us already from interacting, but when it comes to our essence it is sacred. Faeries are sensitive to blood exchanges because it is only something you do with a fae you are mated to. The majority of us would never willingly give up our blood for something like this. That’s why Seonghwa didn’t offer himself, and why Wooyoung was so flabbergasted at the thought of your blood mixing with his. It’s a quite sensitive topic.”
“And yet…” You trail off. And yet you did it without a second thought.
“Mhm,” he agrees, still staring at you. “The others think you’re special. So I would love to have the honor to be the baseline for the experimentation,” he chuckles, sliding his sleeve back down. “Seonghwa isn’t coming back, by the way. He’s told me to guide you out the forest and back to your home.”
Trying to decipher the wording is too much for your tired mind to comprehend right now.
“Demanifestation again?” Your stomach lurches at the thought. You’re not sure you’d survive it a second time.
Yunho shakes his head quickly. “Never. Wooyoung is a fool to have done that to you. We’ll be traveling on foot. Your home isn’t too far away from where we reside. I just need to help you through the barrier.”
You agree, standing slowly. Yunho reaches out his arm and you take it, thanking him softly. The hallways are quiet as you walk through, glancing at him. You can see his gaze glued to one of the doors you pass by, giving you a quick smile as he picks up the pace. You exit their home, and he does the same as Wooyoung did. The forest warps, the home disappearing behind you.
“You can continue to walk straight. The forest will guide you home,” he says softly, bowing. “I wish I could accompany you, but some Unseelie has been making a bit of a mess in our home and I need to fix it before Hongjoong comes.”
Hongjoong. You’ve heard the name a few times. Enough so that you can guess he’s their leader of sorts. But you’ve involved yourself enough. “Thanks for helping me. Straight you said?”
He nods, “Straight. See you soon, y/n.” He turns on his heels, dissipating into the forest. You can only imagine what the town would say if you told them of this encounter. Staring at the spot he once was, you turn back around, walking straight.
-
Yunho winces at the noise, shutting the front door. All of the doors of the home are open, various items thrown carelessly on the hardwood floor. He notices that the door to the library is shut. Seonghwa has had enough of it, it appears. Yunho does not blame him in the slightest. He steps over the broken vases and torn books, head aching already.
“What an incompetent Unseelie. Thriving in chaos does not mean we want it all over our floors,” Seonghwa’s voice echoes through the hallway. Ah, perhaps he is trying to deal with it now?
Yunho steps around the corner, entering Wooyoung’s room. It’s in a dire state, clothing and potion spilled, sheets ripped in half. Just as Yunho steps through the threshold, he’s thrown against the wall. Wooyoung’s hand wraps around his neck, his claw digging into Yunho’s skin. It doesn’t hurt, no, but it is a bit uncomfortable.
“What’s the reason?” he says through struggling breaths. He pulls his hand off with ease, coughing. “Shit.”
“You are always there, always stealing things from me. Could you not rest? Why in every lifetime do you have to take her away from me?” His voice cracks at the end. Yunho’s brow furrows at his words, confusion mounting. “It is always you, everytime. You always ruin my fun.”
“You’re acting like a child because I willingly exchanged blood with the human?” Yunho scoffs. “You shouldn’t have made it such a pressing issue if you wanted to do it.”
“You…” Wooyoung points his hand at him, slowly dropping it. “Give me a chance this time. Don’t steal her from me again.”
“We’ve just met this woman, Wooyoung,” Yunho says. “She is not anyone else.”
His eyes narrow, “You know what I mean.”
The front door slams loudly. Yunho closes his eyes, knowing his headache will only grow once Hongjoong enters the room. He looks at Wooyoung, blinding slowly. “You can do whatever you want with her, I don’t care. The blood exchange is complete now. You’ll have to find another way to bond with her. Figure it out yourself,” he steps out the way, feeling the wrath of his leader just behind him. Hongjoong gives him a look and he does not bother saying anything else, leaving the room.
The door cracks against the frame as it shuts.
--
It’s been a few days since you’ve heard from the Unseelie. You’ve been on edge all the while, tensing everytime the bell rings against the door. Only your fellow townsfolk have entered your shop now, picking up essentials and other things they need. The talk about Soobin has significantly decreased, much to your surprise. You expected for the talk to continue until the end of time. Or maybe they’re just not saying it to your face this time. You still look at your phone every time it rings, hoping to see an unknown number. You answer every time, waiting for the soft voice of Soobin on the opposite side. Instead it’s mostly robocalls. The sinking feeling has not gone away when it comes to him.
Why would he leave you?
The bell rings, and you barely glance at the door. You turn around to place a book on the shelf, dropping the one you have in your hand. He catches it with two fingers, holding it out to you. Taking a step back, you take it from him.
Wooyoung’s barely a foot in front of you, hands tucked in his pockets. He grins, brows wiggling. “Long time no see, solaris.”
He’s wearing casual clothing quite similar to Seonghwa’s wear. Instinctively, you glance down at his feet. He wears shoes this time. In fact, you’re sure you’ve seen Seonghwa wear the exact same outfit. He catches your eye, slipping from the aisle and standing in the middle of the store.
“You like?” he asks, spinning in a circle quickly. “I dressed Seonghwa in my clothes whenever he visited you. He only had those strange trench coats. Stuck out like a sore thumb.” He does the same, thumb in the air for emphasis.
You place your book on the shelf, not sure what to say to him. “Didn’t expect to see you,” you admit. “I thought Yunho or Seonghwa would come around again.”
“Seonghwa won’t dare enter human owned land again after his brief experience,” Wooyoung says. “He hates it. And Yunho isn’t really permitted to leave our land unless he’s given explicit permission. Me on the other hand,” he tilts his head. “I allow myself to enter whenever and wherever I’d like.”
They seem more restricted than you previously thought, minus Wooyoung. How he’s roaming around while - even as briefly as you’ve met him - Yunho not being able to, is a bit strange. The difference in temperament is noticeable. You saw how Seonghwa physically relaxed while taking blood from Yunho. The friendly giant feels more human-like than Wooyoung ever did.
“Why are you here?” You ask, pushing your cart into the next aisle. “Does Seonghwa need me for something?”
“Can’t I just come and visit you, solaris? Is that such a crazy idea?”
“Crazy no. Weird, yes.” You glance at him, eye twitching when you see his leg resting on the loveseat. “You act like you haven’t been around us in thousands of years. I can’t see why you’d want to hang out in a bookstore when there’s so many places in town to go to.”
“The bookstore is the only place that has the sun,” he shrugs.
“You say even stranger things,” you murmur. “And would you stop calling me that?”
“No,” he says immediately.
All you can do is sigh, continuing to place books on your shelves. Wooyoung interrupts you every now and then, either poking fun at you, or telling you another fact about them. Apparently, they’re the only group of Unseelie in town. Unseelie are rare in the faerie species, most eradicated by Seelie. He states the fact with a bit of a somber look in his eyes.
“There were thousands of us at one point,” he explains. “Then the Great War happened. Years ago, so far beyond your comprehension. So many of us fought to the death to survive. The hatred for each other runs quite deep. Most of the time when we stumble upon each other it ends in death. Now that our numbers have dropped so low - we’re not even sure how many of us are left now. Our species of faerie is dying.”
“Is that why Seonghwa is persistent in finding out why I am the way I am?” You ask, and he nods.
“If humans are developing resistance to our abilities, we will die. And not just Unseelie. Faeries as a whole thrive off of human auras. Having that removed from our societies will be detrimental. Mermaids, Seelie, Cave dwellers, Unseelie - so many of us will be gone. If there is a way to prevent that from happening we would do anything for it. But,” he shrugs. “None of us are majikians. Majik can only take us so far. Even if we find a cure, we’re in a new world. Humans will eventually discover us in masses. There will be a war, that I know of. Then Unseelie will be completely eradicated. We will be nothing.”
He twists his body to look at you. “That is why you are my solaris. My sun. You are capable of bringing us life and prosperity. You are also capable of destroying everything we have ever known. Right now you shine brightly. Let us hope that you continue to.”
“I didn’t know this was so important.” Is all that you say.
“Would you have if I didn’t just tell you?” his brow raises. “I’m not here to convince you either way. You would have to come with me whether you’d prefer it or not. It’s just nice to give you some background,” he gets up from his seat, moving around the shop. “It’s quaint here. Small town places always make me feel warm inside.”
The sudden shift of conversation is something you should get used to around them. “Soobin designed it that way. He’s been wanting this place for a while. It’s his home.”
“Soobin is your partner,” he states. Your back is turned, so you don’t see the shift in his expression. How terrifying it would be to see the ghost of a grin on his lips. “He’s not around anymore.”
You take his statements as questions. “Yeah, he is. Well, was. We had a disagreement and…” You stop in your talking. “You should know already, I’m sure Seonghwa told you about it.”
“He did, I just like hearing you talk. It’s much more soothing than his irritated, quick words everytime he speaks to me,” he murmurs. “Why aren’t you afraid?” he asks after a moment.
“Hm?”
“Before,” he slowly walks up to the opposite side of the counter, sitting on the stool. “You were afraid of me when I showed up. I heard your heart beating against your chest, but it’s silent now,” he raises a brow. “What changed?”
“You said I was in no danger with you,” you say, and he nods, waiting for you to continue. “I didn’t see a reason to continue to be scared, so …”
“That is perfect then,” he smiles, resting his head against his palm. “I’m glad you feel that way. I don’t want you to be afraid of me anymore-” He stops, turning around. This time your heart does rattle against your chest. His teasing is gone, sliding off the chair. The door swings open, bell ringing. You cannot see the door from where you are, the opposite side of the store covered by the wide shelves. Not skipping a beat, Wooyoung turns to you.
“Hide. Now.”
You immediately turn, heading to the back office. Despite how much you want to turn around and look, you don’t. You hear a loud crash, the sound echoing through you. Your back office door is open and you enter, shutting it and locking it behind you. There aren't many places to hide in this room, except for exiting the store through the door. Hearing Wooyoung’s words in your head, it wouldn’t be safe for you to just leave. But there’s people out there. It’s evening. Whatever is here wouldn’t attack out in the open, right? Taking the chance, you swing the door open.
The figure standing there is terrifying enough to make you halt your escape. Its claws grip your throat, pushing you back against the back wall as it enters. Wide, golden streaks dripped down its pale body, several limbs severed and dragging along the floor behind it. Its touch is cold, nails sinking into your skin. You can’t say a word even if you wanted to, fear unlike anything you’ve ever experienced sinking into you. Its mouth opens, rows of jagged teeth lining its jaw, stench horrid.
“I’ve been looking everywhere for you,” it hisses. Its finger slips, ripping your skin even more. You cry, hands gripping the one on your neck. It leans forward. You cannot tell whether it’s looking at you or not, holes where eyes would usually be.
“This is what they were floundering over. This is what the Unseelie are concerned about,” It spat, “Weak just like the other filthy humans.”
Its mouth stretches, the hole large enough to swallow you whole. Tears roll down your cheeks. You feel its spit drip against your forehead. Just as you have accepted your fate, you’re thrown out of the creature’s hand, body slammed against the floors.
“Repulsive.” Yunho holds the creature against the far wall, face twisted in disgust. The look is unfamiliar to you, already used to the warm gaze he shot you. He grips its neck, twisting it harshly to the side. The sound of bone and flesh being torn apart fills the air. It’s enough to make you look away. The distraction is gone, pain increasing rapidly as you look down at your injuries.
“Yunho shouldn’t be here,” Another voice appears. Seonghwa looks around the room, eyes immediately roaming over your figure. “Hell.” His body is soaked in what you can only assume is blood, immediately crouching down over you. “Think you can stand?”
You nod. You rest your hands on either side of your body, muscles straining to lift yourself up. Seonghwa merely sighs, reaching out an arm and pulling you up with ease. You stumble, pressing yourself against his chest. He doesn’t say anything more, lifting you into his arms. Your eyes roam behind him, Yunho’s face unrecognizable as he rips the being apart. Wooyoung must have entered without your knowledge, pulling his friend off the creature.
“Relax Yunho – it’s in ruins now. You don’t have to continue.” He pulls on Yunho’s arm again, this time thrown back against the floor at his attempt. Yunho does not bother turning around, continuing to rip into the thing.
“Fuck off, Wooyoung.”
“Time to get Mingi,” he sighs, glancing back at you. His brows contort in worry, “Oh my solaris, it stole your shine.”
“Get him under control enough, Mingi should be arriving soon,” Seonghwa helps you through the door, easily carrying you. You notice townspeople walking, none bothering to glance your way. Too tired to question it, your body slumps in his arms.
“The Seelie almost tore you apart,” he starts, waiting for a car to pass before crossing the street. “Wooyoung called for us just in time. Ah, your neck,” he winces as he looks at it. He lifts a hand and lightly touches your skin, mumbling words underneath his breath. “That should seal it up enough. We’re almost there.”
Your mind is too clouded with the events to give him a response. He takes it in stride, stepping into the forest. You aren’t sure how long it has taken to get to their home, but you see the familiar woods, trees gathered around the house that sits in between. He says something to another in passing, stepping into the library and shutting the door behind him. Seonghwa places you in a seat.
His hand lightly touches your temple, exhaustion slowly fading away. You blink quickly, glancing around. The room is lined with glass, contents unknown. He turns around to grab a small case, finger dragging across the surface. Inside are several bandages and other first-aid kit items. You want to thank him but your mouth is dry. Only a small wheeze escapes your lips. He glances back at you, wiggling his pointer finger.
“It is a binding spell. No words can escape until I let it be so. The claws of that Seelie dug in deep. If you speak, it may only worsen your condition.”
He rests on one knee, humming to himself. The jar he has in his hand is written in unknown scripture. He picks up the ointment with two fingers, slowly brushing it against your skin. “This is toad puss. Disgusting name and scent, but it will seal your wound much quicker than ordinary human antibiotics. Ah,” he glances behind you. “Took you long enough to arrive.”
You cannot twist your neck, moreso out of fear of tearing your skin. Wooyoung appears beside Seonghwa, glancing over your wounds. “The Seelie almost shredded her. I looked around the bookstore as I cleaned up but there was no sign of any carvings. There’s nothing on her body either. I’m not sure why they came or how they found her. ”
“Us, silly,” Seonghwa rolls his eyes. He grabs the gauze, slowly wrapping it around your neck. “One of the Seelie found out that we knew of a human like her. They followed one of us, or both of us, and located where she resides. Though I don’t know for sure if they followed you today and or followed me weeks ago. It doesn’t matter, anyway. Her bookstore is compromised.”
“Then what do we do?” Wooyoung asks, eyes still on yours.
“We talk to Hongjoong.”
You can see how his body deflates immediately. “But –”
“He’ll be furious, yes, but we need to tell him that the Seelie are back. And what steps we take from there. Actually, I think I heard him rummaging around his room. After I get her fixed up, I’ll go speak to him. I’m sure he’s already listening in on our conversation anyway.”
Wooyoung doesn’t say anything else, but you can see how Seonghwa’s words weigh heavy on him. You wish you could speak up for yourself. Your mind is leaning towards yelling at them for putting you in this mess in the first place. Wooyoung leaves without another word, the tap of the door closing behind him.
“What a mess,” Seonghwa sighs. He looks at you, humming again. “You are probably furious right now, aren’t you?”
You nod, and he merely laughs.
"Well you might as well get used to it. No such thing as happy endings for demonic creatures like us. Unfortunately for you, you’re now associated," he rips off the gauze wrapping with his teeth, spitting flyaway pieces to the side. His fingers slowly lift your leg. His touch is soft in comparison to his words, glancing at your face for any signs of discomfort. Not seeing one, he continues. "We Unseelie exist to balance the universe. We are not inherently evil, no. But our mere presence is distasteful, disastrous. We cannot feed without hurting humans, we cannot survive without interfering in your lives. We breathe chaos. It is all we've known and all we'll ever know – oh, did that hurt?" His voice is soft for a brief moment, seeing your brow furrow at his pressure. "Tight?"
You don’t say anything. His eyes widen for a moment, fingers brushing against a sliver of skin peeking out from the bandages on your neck. “Apologies. I was wondering why you remained so quiet.”
Your voice escapes you, quite low. "I’m fine."
He narrows his eyes but continues, much slower this time. You're not sure where this conversation stems from, but you don't dare interrupt. It's the most any of them have spoken to you about their kind. "It's not like a human would understand that it's natural for us. We enjoy killing because it is in our nature. We cannot live without it. It's a shame, really. So many Unseelie have tried to pull away, tried to stop killing. But all attempts have failed. Each one has died in the process. It is like if humans decided to stop feeding on plants and meat and decided to eat air instead. It won't work. It's unsustainable."
"I understand."
He pauses. "No, you don't. Not really."
You clear your throat. "Who are we to tell you what to do? We've considered ourselves the top of the food chain for so long, we can't think of something stronger or faster or wiser than us. What am I to do? Kill off every faerie I see?"
He nods. "That's what many human hunters have done. What many have decided to do over centuries."
"But not me."
His eyes flick between yours, expression unreadable. You don't bother to fill the silence and neither does he, hooking the gauze together with a small metal clip. You think the conversation is over, until he speaks up again.
"You are a strange one. It is of no wonder so many of us admire you."
“What –”
"It is funny what humans think of us,” he interrupts, not allowing you to comment though you desperately want to. “There is no good versus evil. Despite how much we hate the rigidness of the Seelie, they are faeries just like us. But they are not innately good just as we are not innately evil. If the world was that simple, we would have been eradicated long ago," Seonghwa muses. "Us Unseelie value chaos, sacrifice. We fight for our positions when necessary, and enjoy power. Though we all dislike humans, perhaps hate in some cases, we do welcome you. Even if it is temporary. Just because we live in forestry hills does not mean our heads are filled with dirt."
"Do you like me then?"
He grins. "I enjoy you as an experiment if that would make you feel a bit better."
"Ecstatic," you murmur.
"Well you know we cannot lie, so it must give you some reprieve. Unfortunately for us, you can lie," his eyes narrow. "What is your ex-partner's name again? Soobin?"
You say nothing. Allowing him into your head, letting him question you – it is exactly what you should not do when meeting a faerie.
"Ignoring my words?"
"You should know why I am."
He narrows his gaze, "Filthy humans and their silly rules."
"They keep us safe."
"They ruin the fun we have,” he sighs. “I can’t have you back at that bookstore, or your home,” Seonghwa stands, fingers dragging through his hair. “It’s no longer safe for you. You’ll have to stay with us for now.”
You want to debate with him, want to say that you’d rather tough it out and deal with it on your own. But you cannot forget how utterly terrified you were when that Seelie attacked. How you froze. If they weren’t there, you would’ve been long gone by now. Your family would mourn your disappearance, desperate for answers that you wouldn’t have been able to give them. Perhaps wondered if you left with Soobin, wherever he went.
It’s not something you’d ever want.
“Okay.”
He nods. “Okay then.”
He stands, about to leave. "Seonghwa."
He turns around.
"Before, Wooyoung was telling me how you would never enter the human owned land again because you despised it. But you did today. Why is that?"
A strange look crosses his face. "Wooyoung told you such words?"
You nod. "He did."
A breathy laugh follows suit, "That seems like something he would do. I'll set up your temporary room and be back." Seonghwa doesn't say another word, exiting the room. His avoidance of the question only creates more confusion.
-
“You are all making a fuss for a human you don’t even know. Curiosity can only stretch so far. What else are you going to do? Sacrifice yourselves so that she can live? This is more than silly. It’s stupid.”
Hongjoong paces back and forth in the library, Seonghwa flipping through several documents to see if there is any solution to what’s happening now. If he can find some semblance of an answer, perhaps she wouldn’t have to stay at all. But as of now he has found nothing of consequence. Nothing to stop the Seelie from coming after you.
“If the Seelie are after her and want to kill her, then there’s something there. Why give up now?” Seonghwa says, barely looking up from his literature. “It doesn’t have to involve you if you don’t want it to. We can keep her away from this side of the house.”
“That’s not my point and you're more than the wiser to understand that."
“Then what is?”
“You are undermining me,” Hongjoong’s eyes narrow. “You all made me the leader of our spark. And it is my duty to protect us all from harm. Ever since this human has come around, things have been happening. You should have just killed it when you first stumbled across it. And now Yunho is all out of sorts and Mingi has to watch him. Seelie have emerged again. None of this is okay.”
Seonghwa merely rolls his eyes. “We are Unseelie, we’re trained for this.”
Hongjoong stops pacing, shaking his head. “We are very few in number, Seonghwa. We cannot risk our extinction. Not for a useless human. Once the news has spread that you three have killed Seelie, there will be war. There is only so much I can protect us from.”
“We can protect ourselves. And it is too late anyway,” Seonghwa says simply. “We killed the Seelie for a reason.”
“You could have let them kill her and we would have had this problem eradicated.”
“No.”
“Why not?” Hongjoong pauses. He stares at his friend, his mate. Seonghwa does not often express his care. Has not for a while. “Unless you care for it?”
Seonghwa frowns. “Stop suggesting silly things.”
“Say you don’t care for it and I’ll believe you.”
Seonghwa stares at him, desperate for the words to escape him. But his true nature prevents him from doing so. He can only hope that Hongjoong does not push the issue further. Hes already dealt with endless pestering today. He thought he'd at least get a bit of reprieve from Hongjoong. Instead he is only being scowled. It's no wonder he actively avoids his presence every chance he gets.
“Say it, Seonghwa.”
“Haven’t we all irked him enough today?” Yunho enters the room, Wooyoung close behind. Not seeing Mingi hanging around is a bit odd, but neither of them mention it. “Pestering him about this is a mute point. We all have to keep an eye on her for now. Until all of this is settled. Maybe we should pick up the talks tomorrow.”
Seonghwa grabs the book he has in his hand and leaves the room, Hongjoong exiting in the opposite direction. Yunho sighs softly, exhaustion riddling his body. He doesn’t acknowledge Wooyoung trailing behind him, lounging on the long sofa. Said Unseelie paces around his resting figure, picking at the skin by his nails.
“I’m not going to hurt her,” Yunho murmurs, one lid opening to look at his friend. “I’m okay now.”
Wooyoung sits in front of him, head pressed against his thigh. Yunho reaches down, fingers massaging Wooyoung’s scalp. It's a common routine. Anytime he's overwhelmed, Yunho hears the soft tapping of his knuckles against his bedroom door. Most times he needs the comfort of their bodies against one another's, breathes mingled in the low light. But this is one of those rare moments that Yunho isn't able to provide such a comfort. His mind is too consumed with thoughts unlike his own. And Wooyoung seems to know it as well, trembling underneath the scratch of Yunho's nails against his scalp.
He lets out a long breath, looking up at his mate. Yunho's eyes look heavy. Exhausted. “It is not her I am worried about right now, Yunho. I shouldn’t have called you.” Wooyoung starts.
“You only thought of the first person on your mind. It’s alright.”
“It should have been Mingi or Jongho first. We all know how these things affect you and I messed up again. Much, much worse than last time.”
Yunho's fingers pause in combing his hair. A horrid reminder. He swallows slowly, pushing those thoughts away.
“Wooyoung,” Yunho shakes his head. “You can’t continue to blame yourself. The past is the past.”
He closes his eyes, lower lip trembling. “You could have lost yourself completely. Yunho, Mingi had to injure you to stop you. I should know what to do when you’re like that, I should be able to stop you–”
"Your presence was enough."
He shakes his head. "The Seelie was barely recognizable. It was a pile of mashed flesh –"
“Hey, stop,” he pulls his fingers from his hair, resting on the bottom of his chin. His strength is barely used as he tilts his head up to look at him. “I’m fine. We’re fine. I can’t tell you to stop thinking about it because I know you and I know you will, but I’m okay, Woo. I’m fine. Please don't let those thoughts burden you. You could not pull me out of it, but it's not your fault. I listened to your call. I decided to come. I could have told one of the others first. It was my choice.”
"Yun…"
"Mmm," He lets go of his chin, arms opening. Wooyoung wastes no time in sinking into his embrace, chest rising and falling calmly. "I'm okay."
“Are you sure?” His voice is softer this time. His fingers dig deeply into the fabric of his blouse. “Don’t lie to me.”
“Unseelie can’t lie.”
Wooyoung narrows his eyes, Yunho’s warm laugh echoing around the room. “Fine. I am okay, and I’m not lying to you.”
"Promise?" He's persistent, hands cupping Yunho's face. "Promise me?"
"I promise, pretty faerie."
Wooyoung hides himself in the sleeve of Yunho’s shirt. "You're trying to distract me."
"It seems to be working," Yunho teases.
They enjoy each other's silence, Wooyoung lifting his head up again. "I'm sorry for before. For getting angry at you like that. I just let my feelings overtake me and blew up. I'm sorry."
"Already forgiven."
"You shouldn't, though. I hurt you," Wooyoung's eyes roam Yunho's neck. Though he has already healed, the puncture marks of his claws are still scars against his skin. Wooyoung leans up, pressing his lips lightly against the risen skin, Yunho's body trembling beneath the touch. "I hurt you."
"You can't help it."
"But I didn't try to stop myself."
"The human brings out the worst in us, it seems."
Wooyoung laughs, the sound not at all reaching his eyes. He ponders for a moment. "I like her."
Yunho takes his words with hesitance. It's been very apparent since he's seen you that Wooyoung has grown a soft spot for you. Though he can't quite understand how it happened so quickly. The Unseelie has barely spent more than a day with you. "I know."
"I want her to like me too."
"Good luck with that."
He frowns. "She will like me, Yunho."
"I know. You're too easy to like, Wooyoung. She will eventually feel the same as you."
"You think?" he gives Yunho a toothy grin.
"I know."
—
You sit on the porch, staring out into the night. The breeze is quieter than before, whistling through the branches and leaves. The throbbing pain in your neck has subsided greatly. You can only thank Seonghwa silently, fingers brushing against the gauze tight on your neck. You can still see the way that Seelie looked at you, the ferocity in its eyes. How easily it could have snapped you in half if it truly wanted to. Have you brought this all upon yourself? Letting Seonghwa creep into your life? Was the loneliness too much to bear that you've attached yourself to the next person who was a bit kinder to you? You rub your eyes, chest rising and falling slowly.
"Pathetic," you mumble, tucking your knees close to your chest. Your desperation for a reason why Soobin left you alone led you here. Stuck in a house filled with mythical beings. None of which care for you. You should have just gone home once he disappeared. Maybe then you wouldn't be stuck here. The stinging feeling in your throat burns. You hold it back. You can't cry. Not here. Not around them.
"Thoughts fogging your mind so deeply that you didn't hear me knock?"
You look up, Wooyoung's head peeking out from the overhang on the porch. His hair is wild, flowing in the breeze. He takes your non answer as acceptance of his presence, dropping down from the roof to sit on the railing. He tilts his head as he stares down at you. "You look upset."
"I'm stuck in a place I don't know with people I don't know because creatures I don't know are attacking me for a reason I don't know. So yes, maybe I'm just a little upset about my circumstances."
"You do know why they attacked you," he points out. "They want you dead."
"Reassuring," you give him a half smile. "Thanks for that."
"I'm… I'm not trying to get on your bad side, solaris. I'm trying to make you like me. I want you to be comfortable around me."
"You shouldn't care how I feel about you, Wooyoung. You've already done your job luring me here. Now leave me alone."
His lips frown, sighing softly. "What else can I do to help?"
"Is it not enough that you've trapped me here? I would thank you for saving my life, but you all are the reason those things came after me. I would have lived normally without your meddling. Seonghwa should have…" He should have killed you and gotten it over with.
"You don't mean that." He looks at you with such a pitiful, worried look that for a moment, you believe in his concern. Believe that he actually is upset for you. But you know it's not at all true. You know it's another ploy to make you feel comforted by him, by them. And you're not foolish, no. Unseelie do not care for humans.
They never will.
"I do."
"Solaris–"
"And call me by my name, Wooyoung." You slowly stand up, ignoring his hand reaching out to steady you. "Now goodnight." You slowly limp towards the French doors, shutting them behind you. You stare into his eyes as you turn the lock, shutting the curtains.

Ateez Taglist: @foxinnie8
Wooyoung had just left the recording studio when he saw Y/N sitting on the sidewalk with her phone in her hand.
It had been like this all day, he didn't want to stare for so long but she wasn't like other days.
Y/N used to admire when the group was recording a music video or something, even though she was just the assistant to Ateez's stylist she loved the recording set, the dream of becoming an actress had been left behind for a long time but the luck of being able to watching behind the scenes was an opportunity she wouldn't miss for anything, especially since Y/N was allowed to watch.
But on that particular day, she didn't pay attention to the exhausting hours of recording. She was too busy looking at her phone every two minutes, she seemed anxious for some reason.
Wooyoung noticed that in the last few days Y/N was happier, even talking more since she was always more introverted. He didn't know why but there was something on her phone that had changed her mood.
From happy and excited to anxious and worried. A change in such a short time that anyone would notice.
“Y/N, is everything okay?” asked when he approached and she looked at him in surprise, she hadn't noticed his presence there.
“Yeah, it’s just-” Y/N pondered, sighing. She needed to talk to someone. "Can I ask you a question?"
"Sure." he sat next to her, keeping his backpack over his shoulder and faced her.
Her gaze down, avoiding contact with him, revealed that she was embarrassed and probably didn't know how to ask what was bothering her.
And she really didn't know, at least she didn't know how to say it without sounding stupid.
“You’re a man and you know how most men's minds work, right?”
"Something like that." he smiled sweetly, wanting to make her feel more at ease.
Y/N bit her lip, trying to find the right words but all that came to mind was that she should be sincere and direct.
This made her not notice that Wooyoung was looking closely at her extremely inviting lips.
“When a guy shows signs that he likes you and even went out with you but then disappears without explaining why, and comes back later as if nothing had happened. What does that mean?"
Wooyoung swallowed the answer he wanted to give and looked back into her eyes, seeing her watching him expectantly.
He didn't want to be rude or too direct and end up hurting her more than she already seemed to be.
Or be too playful and she ends up interpreting it as if he was making fun of her.
It was very clear to him, whoever she was going out with definitely didn't like Y/N the way she thought and probably didn't want the same thing as her.
But her eyes were begging for an answer, as if she needed direction on what to do. And had to be sincere.
“Maybe his priority right now isn’t what you guys are having.” Wooyoung responded carefully and saw her face change expression, from worried to sad.
He didn't like seeing her like that. The last person who deserved to suffer for someone who wasn't worth it was Y/N.
The two didn't have a huge age difference and just like Wooyoung, Y/N knew what it was like to leave the family behind to follow your dreams in a place where you have to learn to fend for yourself.
Y/N was a sweet, polite and respectful person, she would do anything for everyone without expecting anything in return. He knew her well enough to know that she deserved so much more than some asshole was trying to give her.
And that didn't even have to do with the fact that he had a slight crush on her.
Well, maybe it has.
“So he doesn’t like me.” Y/N concluded, her voice even a little deflated and Wooyoung couldn't control the urge to put his hand on her shoulder.
He wanted to hug her, the way he used to hug his members.
It wasn't fair for her to be like this because of someone who didn't treat her like she should be treated.
“I know that if it was me in his place, I would never waste your time like that.” He took a deep breath and took his hand to the strand of Y/N's hair that fell in front of her face, placing behind her ear and she looked at him at the same moment. Although Wooyoung was different from most Koreans, who didn't like to show affection through physical contact, Y/N never crossed that line but Wooyoung was too close, in a way they had never been before. “If you take your hair out of your eyes, you'll be able to see what's in front of you."
After saying that, Wooyoung got up from the sidewalk and walked out in long steps while she just looked at him with her mouth open. In addition to being shocked, she was confused.
He hadn't said it the way she was interpreting it. Right?
[...]
Three weeks had passed and nothing had changed.
Well, not for Wooyoung.
Y/N was still involved with the asshole who had hurt her, she sent him messages all the time but the situation hadn't evolved.
From what she had shared with Wooyoung, the guy still kept disappearing without a good explanation and came back as if nothing had happened to ask her out.
Wooyoung knew that wasn't an explanation but rather a lame excuse, which she always believed.
The phone fell into the water? Lie.
He has to restore his phone and lose their conversations? Lie again.
He slept on the bus and his phone was stolen? The worst lie he's come up with so far.
They lived in Seoul, it was safe even to walk around in the early hours of the morning with a 50-inch TV on your arm.
Wooyoung hated all of this. He knew why the guy always wanted to take her to the dark of the cinema and it wasn't the same reason she had in mind.
Y/N wanted to go out with the guy because she was enchanted, he wanted to go out with her to sleep with her.
It was so simple and Wooyoung was so angry because she didn't see the malice in the intentions.
At least now Y/N and Wooyoung were talking a little more, although it seemed like she was a little shy when she was around him. He had given her a clue and apparently Y/N hadn't understood, so his crush would continue to be a crush until she realized he was there, ready to do everything differently than the other guy.
“Sorry for the delay, Wooyoung, Mrs. Park was busy with another group’s outfits and ended up taking your clothes by accident.” Y/N held out the bag with the tour outfits that Wooyoung would wear to the next concert.
"Don’t apologize. You could have brought it tomorrow morning, you didn’t need to leave the house at that time of night.” he said after holding the bag and saw her wave her hand in the air as if to ensure that it wasn't a problem.
“I didn't want to stay at home and I know you're traveling tomorrow so.” She shrugged and tried to smile but it wasn't quite a smile.
Wooyoung raised his eyebrow.
"Are you ok?" he asked, worried.
She even opened her mouth to say yes, but not even her body wanted to lie, not again. So no sound came out and she shook her head.
"I'm an idiot." she laughed, without any humor and saw Wooyoung look both ways trying to understand.
Knowing that Y/N wanted to vent, he gave her space to go to the living room and sit on the couch while he followed close behind and dropped the bag on the floor as he settled in next to her.
“Let me guess, it’s that guy.” it wasn't a question, Wooyoung knew the answer.
“I thought something very serious had happened to him because he hadn't seen my messages for 6 days.” she explained and Wooyoung paid attention to every word. “But he posted a few hours ago that he’s at the cinema with another girl and his parents.”
Wooyoung felt his heart beat faster with anger.
He was tired of seeing her waste time with that guy, tired of seeing her run after someone who didn't want to be with her. He was tired of seeing that idiot treating her exactly the opposite of how he would treat her.
If he had one chance, just one.
“Why do you insist on talking to him?” he asked and she remained silent, trying to find the answer. “I mean, do you like him so much to live like this?”
“I don’t even know how I feel about him anymore.” Y/N admitted, looking to a random corner in the room. “He was a nice guy and we have a lot of things in common. He was the first guy I went on a real date with in a long time but… I feel like I'm being an idiot.”
Wooyoung bit his lower lip, he wanted to agree quickly but he didn't know if it would be appropriate.
“Do you want my honest opinion?” asked and she looked at him, nodding slowly as she analyzed his expression. “I don't think it's fair for you to sink your heart even further every time he responds to you with an excuse and the next day he shows up living his life as if he doesn't care about you. You’re worth more than that.”
Y/N looked away and started playing with the fingers on her own hand. It wasn't the first time she thought this, but her reason always conflicted with her emotion when it came to this matter.
“You can have any guy in the world, Y/N.” he confirmed and she laughed, shaking her head.
She had known the boy for a while and knew how good-natured he was, but when didn't hear him laughing along she raised her eyes to look at him.
She laughed again, lightly, and when she realized he was serious stopped laughing immediately.
"You’re serious!" she stated, perplexed. “I mean, you really are serious.”
He raised an eyebrow and looked deep into her eyes, Y/N held her breath as realized that Wooyoung was closer and how her mind could only think that his facial expression was extremely… sexy.
“You’re beautiful, funny, kind.” He wet his own lips with his tongue and looked down at Y/N's mouth. She felt her mouth go dry and swallowed, mirroring his reaction. Did Wooyoung always have his lips so full? “I would treat you right. If I was your man…” he rested his hand behind Y/N’s body on the couch and got close enough to feel her labored breathing. “Just me, you wouldn’t waste your time.”
Y/N was left with nothing to say because the sincerity in his words caught her completely off guard, she wasn't expecting it but that didn't stop her mind from starting to entertain the idea.
He was always very polite and respectful towards her, never went overboard with jokes and made the atmosphere happier. And she couldn't even say anything negative about his look.
Wooyoung was the most beautiful man she had ever seen in her life, the type that would make her drop everything for him, the type that she would fall madly in love with if she weren't so confused.
But the blindfold that blinded her eyes seemed to be falling apart as Wooyoung sighed each word so close to her face, making the room increasingly hot and the air lacking.
She never imagined hearing that kind of thing from him, from a man who had the entire world thrown at his feet.
“I-I don’t know what to tell you.”
He brought the thumb of his free hand to her lips, shushing her.
"You don’t need to say anything." he whispered and she felt a shiver on the back of her neck. That short, new distance between them was making her feel dizzy, Wooyoung's scent was so intoxicating that she couldn't think about anything other than how much she wanted him to get closer.
And in fact, it was as if he was reading her mind, as he not only began to move closer but brought his hand to her cheek, creating a warm and subtle contact. Y/N's breathing was ragged, she was panting at the way he was looking at her.
When their noses gently touched and their eyelids threatened to droop, they were interrupted.
“Wooyoung-ah, did you see my-” Hongjoong’s voice echoed through the apartment, making them both move away suddenly and Y/N jumped in fright, feeling her heart stop in her throat as she saw the oldest appear in the room . “Oh hi Y/N, I didn’t know you were here.”
“Yeah, I…” she got up from the couch, completely distancing herself from Wooyoung who looked impatient, clearly anxious. “I needed to bring Wooyoung’s clothes.” she explained quickly and Hongjoong raised an eyebrow, taking turns looking between her and his friend who was taking a deep breath, running his hand through his hair. The two seemed very suspicious and hadn't even done anything. “But I’m already leaving.”
“Don’t you want to stay a little longer? Do you want to have some tea?” Hongjoong offered and she shook her head.
“No, tomorrow I need to wake up early anyway, you know how Mrs. Park is.” She smiled shyly and he nodded.
“It’s a shame you won’t come with us on tour this year,” he said. “Isn’t it, Wooyoung?”
Y/N tried to hide her ears burning with embarrassment as she slowly turned to face Wooyoung.
"Yes!" he responded promptly, getting up from the sofa, looking at her again, leaving her shy. “I even spoke to our manager hyung, but Mrs. Park needs you.”
“No more than one of us.” Hongjoong spoke, catching the attention of both of them who looked at him with frowns and he simply smiled innocently.
“Well, maybe next time.” she cleared her throat, running her sweaty hands over her jeans and as soon as a silence settled in, she sighed. "I'm already going. You guys need to rest too.”
Hongjoong walked over to hug her briefly.
“See you in a few months. Try not to miss us so much.”
“This is going to be an impossible task.” she laughed and they walked away. "Bon voyage."
He nodded in thanks and Y/N went towards the door, being accompanied by Wooyoung, she lowered her head shyly and put back the shoes she had taken off while being watched by Wooyoung.
“I know I'm going to miss you.” he spoke quietly and she suppressed a smile.
Y/N looked at him as soon as she stood up straight again and saw him come closer to hug her tightly, she closed her eyes at the contact and gave in to the hug. It was hot, it made her heart beat even faster and her legs trembled as if everything she had felt when he was clearly going to kiss her before wasn’t enough. She wondered if he could feel how anxious she was, how fast her heart was beating because of him.
“Don’t forget what I told you.” he whispered close to her ear, making every pore of Y/N's body tingle.
Now she not only wondered if she would give him a chance, but already imagined the answer and what good would come from it.
[...]
To say that Y/N wasn't nervous would be a huge lie.
She spent the day thinking about Wooyoung and she didn't know what time he would arrive back home but she wanted to see him.
In the last few months, after the trip to start the tour, she and Wooyoung spoke every day, sometimes via video calls, but always via messages. They had created a stronger bond, they were developing an intimacy that made Y/N feel safe.
Safe enough to be sure of what she wanted.
She wanted him, it was simple.
For a few weeks she repressed and even refused to believe, reinforcing everything that could go wrong, but on the other hand, she couldn't help but feel everything she felt when she talked to him. There were no games with Wooyoung and she liked that.
Well, she was in love with him. That was the truth!
She actually questioned herself for how long she had felt this way and hadn't even noticed because she was too busy seeing someone who didn't exactly see her, who didn't make a point of being with her like Wooyoung did.
And now, knowing that the tour was officially over and that he was coming back, it made all the butterflies in the world rest in her stomach. Even though they hadn't actually specified something, she was waiting for a text or call from him.
The doorbell to Y/N's apartment rang, making her jump back and almost let the glass she was washing run through her fingers. She hurried to let the glass dry in the sink and dried her hands behind her back to run to the door.
And she was even more surprised when saw Wooyoung standing in front of her apartment when she opened the door, she even lost her speech, making him laugh lightly.
“You- when- what-” she stuttered, blinking several times to make sure she was seeing right.
“I’m not even going to get a hug?” He asked and she sighed.
As soon as she nodded, Wooyoung entered the apartment seeking her body in a tight bear hug, which lifted her slightly off the ground while he buried his face in her neck, causing new goosebumps to run through her body.
Y/N took the opportunity to take her hands to the large strands of his hair, it was a little longer since the last time they saw each other.
“I didn’t know you were back already.” she spoke quietly and he placed her back on the ground, pulling away to face her with a wide smile.
“I've almost arrived now, actually.” he broke the hug to take off his shoes while he rested his hand on the door to close it and she frowned. “I just had time to leave my bags at home and take a shower.”
Y/N felt her heart warm.
“You should have rested a little…”
He shook his head.
“I couldn’t wait.” he confessed, shrugging and she smiled shyly. “I needed to talk to you.”
She swallowed the anxiety that had settled in the pit of her stomach and clasped her hands that were sweating cold.
"Me too." admitted and he looked at her hopefully. “Come on, I don’t want you to stand there at the door. Come in."
Y/N held Wooyoung by the hand and pulled him inside, leading him to the living room, but he didn't even sit on the sofa, he stopped her with his hand and she turned to face him.
“Did anything change?” he asked, directly and she sighed.
"Yes." she replied quietly but firmly. “You told me you would treat me right.”
He nodded and didn't look away from her.
“I would never hurt you.” he said, convinced.
"I know." she smiled lightly. "I trust you."
Those words seemed to sound like music in his ears and he smiled widely, they didn't need to say anything because the sparkle in both their eyes was enough. Wooyoung approached, placing his hands on Y/N's face and she felt her heart flutter but didn't stop him, in fact she approached just like him.
Resting her hands on his arms, she saw him touch their foreheads making her lose herself in his scent while she felt tickled with their noses touching lightly, she smiled lightly but it didn't last long as he kissed her in the same second, making her closing her eyes to truly enjoy the feeling of having his warm lips against hers.
She didn't know how it was possible for her legs to be so weak, but it was what his lips moving against hers was doing to her body. She could lose herself forever in the wet and hot sensation but he had other plans, he sucked her lower lip as he brought with him to break the kiss and make her let out a gasp.
Y/N squeezed his arms as if to ensure she could still stand, however his hands went down to her waist where he hugged her firmly while her hands went up to his shoulders.
“You don’t know how long I’ve waited for this.” he spoke against her face, which took in the air she needed, still with her eyes closed.
“So we have to make up for the lost time.” Without the strength to face him, or else she wouldn't be able to stand, she kept her eyes closed.
Wooyoung began a new kiss, this time faster and more passionate, the voracious lips made Y/N lose track of the entire world around her, the only thing she wanted was to be there, in his arms.
They actually took advantage of everything they had missed in the last few months, Wooyoung's hands squeezed Y/N's waist without hurting while hers went up to the back of his head, pulling him closer.
There was no space between their bodies and neither of them wanted to stop there, it seemed little compared to the need they felt, they needed more. He then took the opportunity to walk with Y/N and ended up pressing her against the wall next to the sofa, it was enough to press his body against hers, who sighed at the contact.
Breathless, he kissed her neck and she just tilted her head to the side, giving him free access to do whatever he wanted with her skin and it wasn't a wasted opportunity.
Wooyoung didn't just distribute kisses but also light bites and licks that made Y/N's throat dry while her hands could only grab his hair, it was difficult to control the moans that insisted on wanting to come out of her mouth.
He then moved his hands to her thighs, just below her ass, and lifted her up. Y/N took the opportunity to wrap her legs around his waist and when she felt him hard against her hips, she couldn't suppress a low moan.
She opened her eyes to find Wooyoung already looking at her with desire, his dark eyes burned for her as much as hers burned for him, without having anything to say, they began a new kiss, hurriedly in which their tongues met quickly, making bodies brushed against each other for the first time that night.
While Y/N had her back pressed hard against the wall, she scratched the back of his head with desire, feeling her body practically erupt. It was then that she grabbed the t-shirt he was wearing and pulled it up, giving a clear indication of what she wanted, he broke the kiss once again to let her take the piece off.
He smiled proudly when he saw her admiring his chest, she seemed mesmerized by his abs, but he wasted no time in doing the same to her. He lifted the light fabric tank top she was wearing and Y/N helped him by lifting her arms so that the piece didn't get in the way of their warm torsos meeting and when that happened he brushed his hips against hers.
“This is so much better than my dreams.” she said, breathing heavily.
“Did you dream about this?” he asked, panting.
She nodded and looked at him firmly.
“Every night since you left.” She admitted, making him smile mischievously.
He moved closer to kiss her again, but this time they were interrupted by the shrill doorbell. They stared at the door as if to guess who was there and Y/N made to get off Wooyoung's lap but he grabbed her ass and kept her there.
“The person leaves, nothing is more important than that.” he whispered and she laughed softly, agreeing.
He took the opportunity to kiss her collarbone and began distributing wet kisses to that area, making her dizzy.
“Y/N?” her eyes widened when she heard the male voice on the other side of the door.
Wooyoung stopped what he was doing to look at her and she looked at him completely surprised.
That couldn't be the…
“I needed to talk to you. You don’t respond to my messages anymore.”
Devil in person.
“Is that- that guy who was making a fool of you?” Wooyoung asked and she nodded.
He changed his expression, he wasn't happy at all with that interruption.
“I know you’re home, I can hear your whispers.” she felt her jaw drop.
Wooyoung rolled his eyes and Y/N actually considered going to the door to throw the abused person out of her life, but Wooyoung was holding her so tightly that it didn't look like he was going to let go anytime soon.
“I know a way to make him go away real quick.” he said and she looked at him with a raised eyebrow, curious about his answer.
“You’re not going to hit him, right?”
He snorted.
“Okay, no, it was my first idea but I have another one.” he replied and she nodded.
He placed her on the floor carefully and began to take off the pants he was wearing, making Y/N open her eyes wide and covered her mouth with her hand to hold back laughter.
He pulled her by the hand and made her stand next to the door, on the side where the asshole wouldn't see her and then Wooyoung opened the door quickly, in his underwear, clearly hard and with swollen red lips.
“It wasn’t her whispers.” He leaned against the doorframe and Y/N had to control her laughter. “It was moans.”
Y/N's jaw dropped and she really wanted to laugh.
"Who are you?"
"Who are you?" Wooyoung replied to the question ironically. “Leave my girlfriend alone and get out the door, unless you want to hear her waking up the neighborhood.”
He closed the door in his face and faced Y/N who was holding back her laughter, he softened his expression and approached her, pulling her by the waist.
"You’re crazy." She placed her hand on his arms.
“Hey, I didn’t tell any lies.” She narrowed her eyes at him and he just pulled her back onto his lap, grabbing one of her thighs. “I’m going to make you scream my name.”

Star Trek TOS slash bits (Season one)
This is my personal rundown of all the slash scenes in TOS season one. Actually, "slash" isn't an accurate descriptor, since slash was born after and because of Star Trek; but I didn't know how to call it otherwise. I've omitted episodes when I didn't find anything remarkable in them. And I've tried to be as objective as possible. Of course, this stuff depends a lot on the "eye of the beholder", so your mileage might vary.
-What I count: lingering touches or affectionate looks, clinginess, actions that show a strong concern/familiarity with each other, suggestive scenes...
-What I DON'T count: friendly gestures (like smiling or looking amused when someone says something funny), scenes taken out of context, physical proximity just because there's not enough space...
I'll try to illustrate some scenes when necessary, though screenshots usually don't do justice to it.
For season two, go here.
The Corbomite Maneuver:
Spirk: Kirk tells Spock his explanations give him "emotional security" with a loving look. Spock appears a bit embarrassed. Not counting the scene where Kirk makes a video call while shirtless (funny as it may seem out of context), since that scene has nothing to do with Spock himself. He's just calling the bridge, not Spock in particular.
McKirk: McCoy surely likes to cling to the Captain's chair a lot. He gets really close for a good chunk of the episode.
Should I count the scene where he hides a red alert in sickbay, so Kirk can keep sweating shirtless in his med bed? On the one hand, it may seem suggestive, but on the other, McCoy is just anxious about finishing his medical exam on the Captain.
Spones: McCoy tells Spock (with a somewhat hopeful look) that he'd love to teach him strip poker. Remarkable because there's no hint of sarcasm at all, and Spock answers with a mischievous smile.
The Enemy Within
Spirk: The scene where Spock enters the cabin and seems so agitated by the sight of shirtless, absurdly sensual Kirk.
Also a bit at the end, when Kirk thanks Spock on behalf of his two... halves. He has the Look in his eyes.
McKirk: McCoy is again pretty close and physical with Kirk (the good one). He stops agreeing with Spock's logical plan to merge the two halves, as soon as they discover that it may put Kirk's life in danger.
The true couple of this episode, however, is Good Kirk x Evil Kirk.
The Man Trap
McKirk: The way Kirk tells McCoy that he's not counting his errors, and how he smiles and approaches him to apologize, comes off rather flirtatious.
Also, though he's joking, Kirk can't help offering McCoy the most shitty bouquet of flowers ever, and calling him by his pet name "Plum" at the first opportunity.
The Naked Time
Spirk: "Jim, when I feel friendship for you, I'm ashamed". Also at the end, when Spock asks Kirk if he's okay, but Kirk asks Spock about his wellbeing instead, with a loving expression in his face.
Balance of Terror
McKirk: The scene where Kirk is lying in bed and he invites McCoy to enter, and then they stare at each other with such fondness. On top of that McCoy makes a heartfelt speech about the uniqueness of all lives, and begs Kirk not to sacrifice himself.
What Are Little Girls Made Of?
Spirk: This may be a stretch, but Chapel implies that she can recognize the real Corby by his voice alone, because she's in love with him. Later, Spock guesses there's something wrong with Kirk just hearing him (actually an imitation of his voice made by an android). Apart from this, Kirk's way of ensuring that his android copy is recognized as a fake, is implanting in him mean remarks about Spock.
Dagger of the Mind
McKirk: Again, McCoy has to be all over Kirk's chair whenever he's in the bridge.
Spirk: At the end, Kirk ponders about loneliness, but then he looks at Spock, smiles, and seems to get better. Spock kind of returns the smile.
Besides this, Spock's mind meld with Van Gelder is rather... well... intense.
Miri
Spirk: A brief moment, but when Spock says "Whatever happens, I can't go back to the ship, and I do want to go back to the ship, Captain", he and Kirk exchange knowing looks, and Spock even smiles a bit.
Spones: Spock is very tender with McCoy while he's unconscious, after testing the vaccine on himself. He holds his hands for a looooong time.
The Galileo Seven
McKirk: McCoy still seems unable to talk with Kirk at a normal distance in the bridge. Granted, he gets so close because he's gossiping about Spock's emotional reaction. But that makes it even more gay.
Spirk: "Mister Spock, you're a stubborn man." In context, he's just teasing Spock like everybody else on the bridge, but in Kirk's case, it seems more affectionate.
Court Martial
Spirk: It's normal that a First Officer would be loyal to his Captain, and testify in his favor when his career is at stake. But Spock's comparison of Kirk's inability to make a mistake, with a hammer's inability to overcome gravity, is way too much, isn't it? Specially for someone who pretends to be as logical as Spock.
The Menagerie
McSpirk McCoy refuses to believe Spock is the culprit, despite damning evidence against him. And he's barely able to arrest him, sending him to his quarters instead of the brig. Kirk is more firm in his duties as Captain, but still considers the court martial against Spock as the most difficult time in his career. At one point, he almost wishes his shuttle failed, so he didn't have to confront Spock.
This episode also shows how crazy Spock can become to protect those he loves and respects (in this case, Pike). Motherfucker just committed mutiny in the Captain's face!
Shore Leave
Spirk At the very start, Spock stands behind the Captain's chair, and Kirk complains about pain in his back. A yeoman, also behind him, starts giving Kirk a back massage. And Kirk seems to be enjoying it quite a lot... until he discovers it's not Spock doing it. Then he orders the yeoman to stop, annoyed. Also later, when the airplane is shooting at Kirk and Spock, the two of them embrace and grab each other a lot. It doesn't help that Kirk has, as usual, his tits out.
The Squire of Gothos
Spirk The best way for Trelane to ensure Kirk's cooperation is threatening Spock at gunpoint. This changes Kirk's attitude to him at once.
There's also something seductive (and masochistic) in Kirk's promise to Trelane to give him all the excitement he wants with a manhunt game.
Arena
Spones "Doctor, you're a sensualist" "You bet your pointed ears I am..." It's not just what he says, it's how he says it.
There's also a little detail, when Spock raises from the Captain's chair, and Bones purposefully follows his hand with his fingers. It's strange. Might be an unconscious action on DeForest's part?
The Alternative Factor
McKirk A similar example as the previous "sensualist" one, but this time with Kirk.
Tomorrow is Yesterday
McKirk He can't stop doing this, can he?
Besides this, McCoy gets very anxious as soon as Kirk beams down to the airforce base, and argues with Spock because he feels the Science Officer isn't doing enough to retrieve Kirk from there.
Spirk Kirk hits a guard and hurts his hand a little, so Spock goes toward him and checks the poor baby's wrist.
However, nothing in this episode compares to the truly lustful looks that Kirk directs to Captain Christopher, when he first meets him.
The Return of the Archons
Spirk At the end, Kirk keeps looking at Spock with silly heart eyes, even though the conversation is a philosophical one, about the pros and cons of a society run by computers.
A Taste of Armageddon
Spirk "Captain, you almost make me believe in luck." "Why, Mister Spock, you almost make me believe in miracles." Bonus points because it comes absolutely from nowhere, since the day was saved by Kirk's power of bluff and special brand of diplomacy. Spock hasn't done anything particularly miraculous (well, there's the mind meld with the wall, but that was a brief moment). Spock also looks confused, and there's that comedic music in the background.
Space Seed
The only thing I can think of, is the tense scene between Kahn and McCoy in sickbay, when he grabs the doctor by the neck and says he likes brave men. Followed by McCoy's statement that Kahn has a certain "magnetism, almost electric". The final confrontation between Kirk and Kahn is also a bit suggestive at times.
This Side of Paradise
Spones MCCOY: That didn't sound at all like Spock, Jim. KIRK: No. I thought you said you might like him if he mellowed a little. MCCOY: I didn't say that. KIRK: You said that. MCCOY: Not exactly. He might be in trouble.
Notice how quick Bones denies having said he might like Spock... Almost as if embarrassed. Does he think often about how Spock could be more to his liking?
Spirk It's possible to see some jealousy from Kirk about Spock and Leila's relationship. In particular during the fight, when he confronts Spock about his courtship of Leila. That came a bit out of nowhere. On the other hand, I disagree with the common idea that his parting from Leila has spirk undertones. On the contrary, he's just talking about his responsibility to the ship and "that man on the bridge" (the Captain; first Pike, now Kirk). And I think there's genuine regret in his abandonment of the simple happiness in the colony, to take care of these responsibilities. His mention of "purgatory" reinforces that.
The Devil in the Dark
Spirk Spock is very protective of Kirk in this episode. First, he invents some bullshit excuse to stay in the cave with him, instead of helping Scotty with the reactor (Kirk sees through his bullshit, by the way). Then he's quite unwilling to proceed separately through the tunnels. And finally, he gets really emotional when Kirk's alone with the horta, and asks him to kill the creature, even though Spock was the one who wanted to protect her first. Apart from this, Kirk supports Spock for a while, after being hurt by the mind meld with the horta.
Errand of Mercy
One name: Kor. Interesting that the episode that introduced Klingons, did so by showing their commander lusting so much after Kirk. Kor checks Kirk out almost from the second he lays eyes upon him, tells him he'll "teach him how to use his tongue", invites him to a drink while Kirk sits suggestively, and both are somehow fascinated by their similarities as commanders (despite their opposite outlooks on life). Definitely one of the most obvious examples in season one.
City on the Edge of Forever
Spirk This exchange:
SPOCK: Interesting. Where would you estimate we belong, Miss Keeler? EDITH: You? At his side, as if you've always been there and always will.
Some people have said that, since Spock's computer contraption occupies one bed, Kirk and Spock would need to sleep together on the other bed. I don't agree though; I see no reason why they couldn't move the thing to the floor at night. It's not that big.
McSpirk How they run to embrace Bones when they finally find him. Even Spock is overcome by emotion.
Operation: Annihillate!
McSpirk Both Kirk and McCoy are very concerned about Spock having lost his sight (much more than Spock himself). Though they react differently. McCoy is heartbroken and blames himself. Kirk reacts with anger and lashes out at Bones, which makes him feel even more guilty. Though later he apologizes. There's also this scene where the three get ridiculously pressed together.
Doesn't count in part, because there's not that much space. McCoy didn't need to come bumping into the other two, though (someone could have moved a bit forward).
Spones McCoy is offended about Spock not appreciating his face upon recovering sight, and complains that he just can't recognize beauty. He's also quite embarrassed because Spock heard him saying he was the best officer in Starfleet.
Summary
Spirk: 16 out of 29 episodes Spones: 5/29 McKirk: 8/29 McSpirk: 3/29

So, here's another Dean. This one's in neocolor crayon, which are very soft crayons - you can use water with them, but I haven't here, because the paper's newsprint and it would fall to pieces very quickly if I used water.
While I was drawing, I was pondering various arty matters. Mainly, how some art/craft posts - mostly on Facebook rather than here - irritate the hell out of me. You know the ones. Where there's some amazing piece of art/craft, but the caption is something like, 'please be kind - it's my first time!' When it's blatantly not their first time, unless art and craft is just plain easy, which it isn't. Anyway, I'm not sure why people make those posts - for others to comment how amazing they are? I suppose. But it must be pretty hollow to receive such compliments. Unless it really is their first time. And even then...
So, anyway, it made me think, why do I post my art? What exactly do I get out of it? Do I do it to receive validation in the form of compliments? I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that, but I just wanted to be really honest with myself. And also, why do I make art in the first place and why this particular type of art, drawing the same characters over and over?
Well, I think I draw for the same, or similar reasons that I write - because it's my own world, that I can control. There's comfort there, isn't there? And comfort in the characters I draw and write about - they're not called comfort characters for nothing, after all. And they're beautiful, aren't they? They're just damn beautiful. Why wouldn't I want to draw them?
So, I guess I want to pour my love into creating something beautiful, or as near beauty as I can get. And I choose to do that with my crayons or my charcoal or my pastels because I love those things too - their colours, the way they spread, the way you can make big, soft marks or sharp, dark marks, the way you can smush them around with your fingers, the way you can just mess about and sometimes it doesn't work and sometimes you get an amazing effect that you didn't know was possible. I love drawing randomly, roughly, searching and searching until I find what I want.
But why post online? Hmm... Well, yes, it is nice when people think what I've created is technically skilful. I have an ego that likes to be stroked, same as anyone else. But if that was the only reason, I'd probably cheat. Some people do. And if that makes them happy, who am I to criticize?
Anyway, I think what I'm after is connection, which is in no way an original thought. That's what makes fandom so wonderful, isn't it? The way you can find connections with other people all over the world. I think when I post, I'm looking for people who love the same kinds of things that I do - the same characters, obviously, but also the same kind of approach to art. The colours and the roughness, the playfulness and the 'continuing mission' to find beauty. I think I post in the hopes that someone will see my art and think, 'hey, I like that.' And that they'll feel a little spark of joy.
I think that's what all our fan creations are about. You get the firework of joy and excitement that goes off when you create your story or your picture and then, around the fandom world, other people get a spark struck from your joy. Which is pretty flowery stuff, but, hey - I'm a writer, aren't I?
That's enough rambling. Nearly. Because I also want to do the thing I often do, which is totally anti the 'it's my first time!' kind of posts. This is very far from my first time and I want you to see the crappiness of my progress shots, because it's important to know that there's almost always a lot of crappy stages before you reach something you consider beautiful. Not perfect. I'm not after perfection, which is impossible anyway, and I would never say any of my stuff is perfect because it's far from perfect and I don't want that - I want life and humanity and striving toward something.
I'm gonna shut up now, because there are burgers to be cooked and chocolate cake to be eaten, and hey! Doctor Who's on soon! Bye!

Can i propose a wild thought to you that I'm rattling off as I just thought of it
Have you considered the lizzie-scott parallels/contrasts?
One of my favourite things about Lizzie is her perpetual "i meant to do that!" attitude she approaches everything with. She thinks herself the leader of sorts and the only compitent bamboozler but my girl is just as big of a loser and klutz, she's just gotten slightly luckier so far. Its why I love her and Jimmy, they both think they're the responsible one when really they play hot potato with the braincell except neither noticed the braincell was replaced with an actual hot potato. She's better at certain things (remembering things and deduction in particular) but none of those things are surviving and its completely negated by her curiosity.
But anyways my point is that like Scott she tries to pretend she's competent and the smart one who is babysitting her teammates, keeping them under control, when she isn't any of those things and actually she cares a lot and is internally screaming all the time.
She's just capable of dropping the mask to be vulnerable. Or, yknow, aware it is in fact a mask in the first place. At the end of the day Lizzie can open up and apologize when she does something silly or says something a bit too mean. She'll just find something new to puff up her chest about.
She's also a sweat, she's just really bad at it.
(Sorry I could probably compare seablings vs fh more to emphasise my point but im trying really hard to keep to the point of this ask without going on tangents and I don't trust myself to not spend 3 hours writing about seablings and forgetting the whole point if I do (also you could also probably compare joel/lizzie to your scott/pearl stuff but 1) i think that probably works better comparing joel and scott more than lizzie and scott and 2) i think comparing their relationship with the same person even if its a different type of relationship might be more revealing and 3) i'm bias))
I ACTUALLY HAVE PONDERED SCOTT AND LIZZIE BEFORE. Not to any level that I feel is worth its own post or anything but they definitely do have a handful of common points that have sent me spiraling in the past (<- guy who really, really likes death games in general and totally didn't try to map out a full hunger games AU at one point. and put scott and lizzie in district 1 together because it just makes sense and has horrifying implications for both of them).
Anyway this is all very true, I hadn't even considered it in the context of their relationships with Jimmy but it makes a lot of sense with the whole. Awhhh I have to Keep Him Alive oop there he goes I guess he'll be die next session 🙄🙄 sort of energy they both try to embody. And how it's kind of performative for both of them, but I think I'll have to let the season play out a bit more before I form any sort of opinion on Lizzie's treatment of Jimmy. (I'm forever sad that Lizzie missed out on three seasons I feel like she might've been a smajor level blorbo to me if she was just there more)
This is a little on the meta side but from what I understand Scott pretty much started off his youtube career with Lizzie's guidance post-WoW-party so I suppose it makes enough sense that he takes after her so much on a persona level as well. Except he's a lot worse at embracing the tongue-in-cheek insincerity. That thing you said about the mask.
I do think Scott is at least acutely aware of his performative nature too, just less willing to acknowledge it for what it is. Lizzie is lying to you, Scott is lying to you but more importantly lying to himself. And that's the difference that I think makes Scott so much more. Dangerous? I suppose would be the word to use. Other than the fact that he is just overall a lot better at being a sweat in general but I'd argue even that could be seen as part of his constant need to keep up his perfect image.
Anyway I'm very unfamiliar with Lizzie and Jimmy's dynamic so I'm excited to see how it goes and even moreso with the comparison to my guy now planted i n my mind. Cheers I loveee stuff like this.
Also sidenote I do find it very entertaining that I'm as predictable as I am <-- has thought about scott/pearl and joel/lizzie as foils alot especially in LL

#22.7 Lunch
Grace had led their guests to the cafeteria, where rows of dishes had been arranged and carefully prepared.
His team took the initiative to make a buffet where each of them cooked a few dishes for their guests and served them anonymously, though that led to a wide range of food, from modified instant noodles to expensive roasted meat. At least there was variety, and hopefully it could cover everyone's preferences.
Grace had given a short speech to thank everyone for participating in the game, and to welcome them to enjoy the buffet. Though the atmosphere was a little awkward with half of the team away to accompany Agni.
At first, the princesses looked at the food warily. But after an explanation from Grace, and after Dan and Gyetang ate their portions to prove them safe, they were finally willing to get their servings.
They gathered together around the long table specifically prepared for this occasion, enough for everyone present. Currently, it was only occupied by Endorsi, Anaak, Hatz, Gyetang, Dan, and Grace himself. Laure was left to sleep on the sofa by the window. Hopefully, he wouldn't be forgotten later on.
It seemed like Gyetang and Dan were having the time of their lives just by talking to Endorsi, and Grace really appreciated that she took the time to indulge his team.
Anaak definitely looked like she would rather be anywhere else but there, but Grace believed that she also found the situation amusing. Especially when Endorsi looked like she wanted to throw hands at her fanboys.
In contrast, Hatz had been eating his lunch quietly. Only speaking if he had to, and only after his mouth was empty. The scene reminded Grace exactly of how it played out all those years ago on the second floor. He felt nostalgic.
Grace obviously didn't want to miss the opportunity to get to know everyone, and began asking questions on mundane things, like their favorite foods, favorite activities, recommended places they would like to revisit, why they were climbing the tower, some fond memories of their past…and so on.
Of course, questions were also thrown his way. He tried to answer it as best as he could, but he avoided telling anything that concerned his past. It was still a sensitive topic to get through, even between him and Agni. He only hoped this wouldn't lead them to think that he was cold.
The elevator behind him let out a soft chime. He turned around to look and beamed when he noticed Agni and Novick. Though he wished the others had tagged along as well.
Novick went to get his servings, Agni only spared Novick a glance before making his way to the empty seat next to Grace.
"Isu and Bam said they'll wait for Ran," Agni informed as a greeting. "I've told them where to find us."
The conversations afterward were mostly led by Endorsi and Agni. Not the friendliest exchange, unsurprisingly. It was more like a business deal with some sarcasm, but it kept the room alive.
Soon Novick joined them, sitting near Dan and Gyetang. Endorsi scanned him once and looked pleased when Novick didn't give her as much of a reaction.
Between the banter, Grace noticed that Agni was sitting quite stiffly. He did a check on him earlier after the game ended, so he knew what was wrong. It was the usual cold and ache that Agni had gotten used to. The game earlier and the days of preparation beforehand definitely had put a lot of strain on him. Was that why he didn't get food along with Novick? What could he do to help in this circumstance?
After a few moments of pondering, Grace downed his glass of water and turned to Agni. "Do you want to eat anything in particular? I'm going to get refills, so might as well."
"Well…Okay." Agni gave him a brief smile, and glanced at the buffet table. "Is there any warm soup?"
Grace had the urge to tuck Agni under a warm blanket and tell him to take it easy for the day. Alas, they need to host for the occasion today, so that wouldn't do. He pushed the thought away and recalled the menu they had prepared. "We have rawon."
Agni raised his eyebrow. "Really?"
"Yes." Grace grinned. He knew Agni wouldn't say no to that.
"Can you get me the meat and soup only?"
"Of course. With tea?"
"Yes. Thank you."
And so Grace went to the buffet table and prepared Agni's order. A medium bowl, some chunks of meat, and then soup. A cold water refill for his own glass. And lastly a steaming cup of tea with an extra spoonful of honey.
As he was stirring the drink, Rak and Khun joined him to get some food. Seeing them together, still bickering, made his heart swell. It almost felt like he was reliving the past. Which he kind of was doing, in a way.
Khun examined each of the menus, holding up a spoon indecisively. "Which one did Bam cook?"
Grace smiled and put his pointer finger on his lips. "It's a secret."
"It's just food, what's the big deal?"
"Exactly," Grace winked. "Does it matter who made which?"
Khun raised an eyebrow, challenging him. "It matters to me."
A chuckle escaped his throat. Has Khun always been this sappy? That was cute. But Khun should have tried better if he wanted to get that information from him. Definitely not with that attitude. "Just get some of each, then it’s guaranteed that you'll get Bam's in the mix."
"Best turtle is right!" Rak laughed, with his plate already filled to the brim. "I'm trying everything regardless! They all smell good!"
"See? Rak gets it." Grace laughed as he summoned his lighthouse to place Agni's order on. Truly, Rak was the best. His heart unhelpfully ached at the thought. He needed to think of something else. "Are Isu and Bam still with Ran?"
"Yep," Rak was the one who answered, since Khun was purposely ignoring him.
Grace felt his chest squeeze at the realization. Maybe he should've told Khun the answer he wanted to hear? But that would be against the rules that his team had agreed on. Khun had always been cold to him anyway, though the silent treatment was new.
Grace didn't know where he went wrong the first time, and this one seemed to be too petty to get mad for. Maybe he was just overthinking it.
Don't mind, don't mind. He told himself as he focused back on the task at hand. He had kept Agni waiting long enough. He should get back to him while the meal was still warm.
Grace took notice of Khun taking several servings of food. He was probably going back to the medbay. So Grace turned to Rak and asked, "Care to join me here, Rak?"

100 CELEBRATION — PROMPT 14. TELEPATHY
TECH / F READER 💖(🔥)
WARNINGS: BRIEF MENTIONS OF INSECURITIES, SEXUAL THOUGHTS BUT NO PROPER SEX SCENE.
NOTES: Here we have a fluffy and sweet/sensual one for our dear Tech. Oh, how I love that man... Let me know if you' ve liked it and reblog if you can. We've only got 3 more prompts for the 100celeb left (with our boys Rex, Cross, and Echo). See you on the next one! Xx, Blue.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Tech had a strict rule; he would not use his mind-reading ability on anyone if not for safety reasons exclusively. That meant, for example, that he was able –and would– use his telepathy to find out Cid's ulterior plans –plans the Trandoshan never mentioned to Hunter– ; but he would control himself and refrain from reading his brother's minds outside of missions and the like. If Tech didn't consider someone in danger, he would silence the thoughts that so often slipped uninvited into his mind.
However, even his own strict rule had to be broken on the rare occasion. Sometimes, the few people he cared about weren't in inminent physical danger; but experimenting some sort of emotional stress that they couldn't always resolve by themselves. Watching them suffer in silence when he might have been able to help if only he had been informed of the nature of their affliction... Well, in those cases, Tech felt morally obliged to intervene.
All this considered, there's no valid reason for him to use his telepathy on you today; but he can't help himself. He had tried to reach a logical conclusion for your behaviour around him lately; to no avail. What he knows is that you can't stand to be in the same space as him for more than a few minutes at a time. He had brushed it aside as mere coincidences at first -you had forgotten something, or had to help Omega with another-; but after a whole month of quiet observation, Tech can't deny the truth any longer. It hurts, the thought of you finding him so irritating or disliking him so much that you inmediately shied away from his presence; but he wants to know what exactly you can't stand about him. Perhaps he can find a solution to it... Tech isn't fond of many people; but he is of you, and he values the friendship that had slowly blossomed between the two of you. He thought you did too, he was sure of it. He needs to know what has changed.
And so the next time you rush out of the cockpit to the sonic, after putting an abrupt end to your conversation with him once again, Tech tunes your thoughts in. Your voice echoes inside his head in a series of stressed whispers. He has to concentrate to discern the jumbled words from one another; your mind is working light speed.
"Oh my god, will I ever stop messing up my words every time I talk to him? With how impossibly smart he is, he probably thinks I'm stupid by now!"
Then, a firm, clear sentence -Tech can imagine you pointing at yourself at the mirror, frustrated-.
"Get your shit together!"
He hears the door of the sonic opening and your footsteps moving in the direction of the bunks.
Alone with his own thoughts again, Tech ponders the new information around. He's relieved to know that at least you don't seem to be angry or irritated at him per se. You just seem to be intimidated by his intelligence; which is more of a compliment than anything else, really. Still, he can't help but feel guilty. Had he ever acted in a way that has made you feel undervalued? Had he off-handedly critiqued any aspect of your psyche? Made an unfortunate comment on how your mind processes things? He doesn't believe so; but it wouldn't surprise him either. For all the intelligence he posseses, he knows he often lacks of emotional tact; something that his brothers -Wrecker, in particular- seem to be well versed in.
Ah, there's always things to learn, mm?
He'll try to make you feel more at ease next time.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Tech is pleasantly surprised to have you tagging along in his exploration of Arkana's forest. The rest of The Batch had decided to stay in The Marauder, catching up on some sleep; but he had prefered to take the chance to observe the planet's rich ecosistem before they had to make their way back to Ord Mantell the following morning. You had inmediately jumped at the oportunity as well. Tech would have thought that an hour expedition would have been too much for you to be in his presence; but you had joined him with a bright smile, and half an hour later, your mood is just as friendly.
Arkana's forest is a surprising mix of bright colourful flora. There's not as much green as one would have expected; but instead, trees and flowers grow in vibrants blues, pinks and yellows. Your eyes widen in awe at a bright neon magenta flower that is as tall as yourself; steps slowing down to admire it.
"What's its name?" you ask him, curiously.
Tech doesn't need to consult his datapad; he knows exactly what it is.
"Fluoridium flowers. Their shine is not a property of the plant per se, but a result of different kinds of neon-like minerals in Arkana's soil. It is often used as..." Tech notices the way you're silently staring at him, an almost lost expression on your face.
He remembers your thoughts on him; and the rest of his explanation quickly dies on his throat. He doesn't want to overwhelm you with unnecessary information. He ends his info-dumping -as Crosshair used to call it- with a few brief words.
"Let's just say it has a lot of uses".
He nods to himself, and then re-starts their walk through the forest. You follow him inmediately, frowning in confusion at his interrumpted explanation.
"For example?" you ask him, and Tech shoots a carefull glance back at you.
"I didn't think you'd be interested in knowing that".
His words bring a honest, surprised expression on your face.
"Why not?" you sound highly confused.
You can't help but think you've done something wrong. It had looked like Tech had wanted to share the information with you; and then he had stoped himself from continuing after taking a look at your face. Had you done something you weren't aware of?
Tech's eyes flicker around the forest almost avoiding you.
"I wouldn't want to bore you" he answers, voice quiet and hesitant.
Tech is never hesitant. He might not know everything; but even then, his usual way of talking is always confident and self-assured. He has no problem in admiting a lack of knowledge in something; he'd admit it in the same firm tone he uses for everything. Why is he acting so strange now?
His words tug at your heart. Perhaps something has happened without you noticing it. Perhaps there had been some sort of discusion between the brothers; or some fleeting comment Tech had taken too personal.
You are enamoured by him; he could never bore you.
For the first time in perhaps forever, you reach your hand towards his wrist; tugging him into a stop and looking up into his eyes with your cheeks lighted up in a faint blush.
"I find all your explanations interesting" you sum up the courage to add "I like hearing you talk, Tech".
You shoot him a small, soft smile; fingers squeezing his wrist softly before letting him go.
Tech is momentarily stunned. He is first confused by the contradiction between your recent afirmation and the thoughts he had heard from you just a few days ago; he is also surprised by the tender affection he reads on your eyes. Your honest little admission sends a warm feeling to his heart.
You're still looking at him; perhaps waiting for an answer, a reaction from him. Tech's heart speeds up. He feels the need to listen to your mind tingling through his veins; and he allows himself that little exception again, just this time.
"How could you ever be boring? You're like a living encyclopedia. And you look so adorable when you're explaining something, specially when you raise your index. I like seing how excited you get, how you come to life. Ah, Tech, if only you knew... I could hear you talking all day".
Tech blushes instantly; slipping out of your mind and trying to hide the way hearing you "talk" about him is making him feel. He must have gotten something wrong. You evidently still enjoy spending time with him; you... Care. Those first thoughts he read from you last time must have been born of your own insecurities; insecurities he would try to help you leave behind.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
You like when the cockpit is at it's maximum capacity. It means you're able to watch Tech with other posible distractions claiming his attention; masking your unwavering interest. Right now, for example, he's listening to Wrecker's and Omega's chattering; making a few brief interventions here and there. He's also piloting The Marauder back to Ord Mantell; and shooting some carefully concerned glances at Hunter, who was injured in The Batch's last mission in Targa. He has always been an expert at multitasking.
You, on the other hand, are focused on just one thing; Tech himself. How his hair is slightly ruffled after the mission, and the way his eyes seem to softly shine with the hyperspace lights. His pouty lips; and the way his long legs look when he spreads his knees apart, turning in the direction of his brothers once The Marauder is set on autopilot.
Fuck, how you wish you could be standing -or kneeling- between those legs...
Tech suddenly stutters in his speech, his cheeks blushing perhaps as a result of something one of his brother's had said. It pulls you out of your thoughts for a minute; your eyes focusing on how cute he looks with the soft tint of embarassment on his face. It's not an expression you often see on him.
You're really helpless when it comes to Tech. Your mind inmediately swings to dirty thoughts; pondering wether he'll get a similar expresion if he'd get flustered at sex. Would he be shy, cheeks set on fire and a timid, adorable wide-eyed expresion on his face? Or would he be as confident and firm as usual, making you melt at his feet with a few caresses and well aimed words? You'd be eager to please him either way, that's for sure.
Tech stands up abruptly; clearing his throat nervously, face impossibly flushed now. His eyes flicker everywhere around the room, and he inmediately makes a hasty exit muttering a rushed excuse. Your eyes trail after him in concern; asking the rest of The Batch about him in case you got lost on something important that would explain his sudden and unexpected retreat.
"What was that?" you whisper to his brothers, half confused and half concerned.
Hunter's eyes snap back at you. He looks uncomfortable; shifting in his place.
"You tell me" he answers, criptycally, inmediately turning his attention to Meg.
What does that even mean? He... He couldn't have known what you were thinking about, could he? Well, with how perceptive he is, perhaps he might have guessed the direction of your thoughts with those heightened senses of his... But certainly not Tech, right? He's smart, yes, but you hadn't been that obvious, had you? Or were your thoughts so clearly written in your face?
Wrecker bumps his shoulder into yours, trying to integrate you into the conversation and diffuse the sudden weird atmosphere that had set around you. You shoot him a soft smile; though your mind is still being pulled in Tech's direction, who had all but ran away to hide in the bunks.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Tech had been fighting your thoughts for one whole month now. And fighting was the apropiate word; because it had been madenning difficult to focus on anything else but the way you seem to lose your atention on the outside word when you focus on him. It had been a complete shock at first; his mind needing a few days to process this change of perspective. The realisation that your only problem with him was that you liked him a bit too much, that he made you impossibly nervous, had been hard to accept. Tech would have thought you'd go for someone like Hunter; but no, you were utterly interested in him. He didn't really understand why at first; but as weeks passed, he had listen to all kind of thoughts about him -from sincere admiration to soft tenderness to hungry lust-, and he guessed he could understand your reasons now.
Needless to say, he had been a mess. He was always so composed; but your thoughts about him had shattered his control to pieces. He spent most of his days either flustered, or lost in your own thoughts; to the point the rest of his brothers had noticed it. Hunter, who knew exactly what was going on, had encouraged him to bring the conversation to you; but even if he knew how you saw him, he was still a bit unsure. He didn't want to make you uncomfortable; and he still felt guilty of invading your privacy. What if you got furious at him? Never wanted to see him again? That would be heartbreaking.
The situation couldn't continue for much longer, though; he was distracted, and he needed to be focused on their missions -to keep all of them as safe as possible-. He had no other option than to confront you. Though perhaps... perhaps his way of going about it wasn't the most wise.
Hunter had gone to Cid's to deliver their part of the deal; while Wrecker and Omega had decided to celebrate with a few games of dejarik and Mantel Mix. Echo, though tired, had tagged along as well; if only for keeping a responsible eye on them. You had claimed to be tired as well; so you had stayed in The Marauder with him.
You were currently sitting next to Tech; watching him tinker about with an old datapad of his he was trying to fix so Omega could have her own one. He could feel the weight of your stare on his face; momentarily glancing down at his hands each handfull of minutes. The tension was palpable between the two of you; and Tech couldn't help but tune in into your thoughts once again. You were practically screaming them to him...
"Fuck, look at those fingers... So long and skilled... He really does have beautiful hands. If only I could feel them on me..."
Tech feels a small rush of excitement slowly igniting inside of him. He tries to focus on the task at hand; a futile attempt. Your thoughts keeps slipping onto his mind.
"Inside me. Fuck, wish I could feel them inside me. Clench on them while he licks my clit with his tongue and I could dig my fingers into his hair, push him against me, and he'd get me ready for his cock and... Oh, god, what would his cock feel like?"
Tech is so dizzy with the raw hunger and need laced in your words he blurts out an answer without wanting too.
"I wouldn't be opposed to trying that".
He realises, far too late, that his thought hand't stayed in the safe privacy of his mind; but exposed out loud for you to hear as well. His eyes widen in surprise.
"W-what?" you stutter, terrified of having spoken your own thoughts out loud.
Tech blushes and watches you nervously. The cat is out of the bag, now.
"I-I... Please forgive me, you were thinking very loudly and I could not help but listening in and..." he explains hurriedly, your expresion only switching from confused terror to terrified surprise.
"What do you mean? You... You can read people's mind?" You almost squeak, shocked at not having heard of any of this until now.
Tech nods, guiltily, and the realisation of your crush being aware of all you've fantasized about him makes your cheeks burn in pure embarassment.
"I'm sorry!" you inmediately apologise, wanting nothing more than to stand up and run away. "I-I..."
"It is not your fault" Tech inmediately cuts in, taking a deep, calming breath as if he is nervous himself. "There is nothing for you to apologise for. In fact, I am the one who should. Please forgive me, mesh'la. I did not intend to invade your privacy like this. I first thought you had a problem with me, and so I peaked into your mind twice to figure out why, and... And I should have stopped there, but the way you continued to stare at me made me curious and... I'm sorry, mesh'la".
You soften at the honesty of his words; and the affectionate way he calls you beautiful in Mando'a. You glance up at him cautiously; embarassment slowly melting away with his positive reaction.
"So you're not... You're not uncomfortable, then?"
Tech's cheeks are still slightly red; though he forces his eyes to stay on yours.
"No. It was a shock at first, I must admit; but your thoughts have never made me felt that way. Nervous, distracted, turned on... Yes, but not uncomfortable" he pauses and carefully adds "like I said, I wouldn't be opposed to try any of them".
You almost jump at the chance; but there's something else holding you back. You don't want this to be a one time thing. You don't want this to be merely sexual. He knows all your thoughts on this; it's just fair you get to find his.
"Did you... Did you hear all the non-sexual thoughts about you too? About us?" you ask him quietly.
Tech responds to your vulnerability with a warm smile. His hand slowly reaches down to yours; sending a shiver through your spine.
"I did. And I'd like to try those as well, cyare" he whispers, a confesion that stays just between the two of you.
Your heart soars; the explosive rush of happiness pushing a radiant smile on your face, happy tears on your eyes.
"Yes, yes, yes, yes" you chant in your head. And then, in case he's listening... "Kiss me, Tech".
You catch a brief glimpse of his answering smile before his lips join yours in a soft, passionate kiss. You sigh into him, melting against the carefull hands that slowly come up to craddle one side of your face and your left hip. Tech hums in contentment. His own swirl of excited, tender thoughts mix with the ones that slips from your mind into his. You kiss and kiss; and the passion and affection burning in both of you is so similar he does not longer differentiate in between.
THE END.

Slip Up
Regressor! Bruce Wayne/Batman, Caregiver! Alfred Pennyworth, ft. Clark Kent/Superman
Angst/comfort
This is not tied to any particular incarnation of Batman
Warnings: mentions of a fake gun, amateur writing
Alfred could tell Bruce was at least a little distressed when he had exited the BatMobile, which was odd since the Justice League didn't even have a big mission today. Just some minor crimes and then filing reports about them. At most, there was a bank robber in Metropolis armed with a 'gun' that turned out just to be a painted airsoft for scare. Alfred sometimes reads through reports as they are submitted into the system.
Regardless of no real big findings today, Bruce still headed straight for the computer like always. Alfred was still able to catch that slight look of distress before he sat down and turned away, though; the way his brow was furrowed not in the usual scowl but a deeper emotion, his lips tightened and mouth minorly askewed into an almost grimace of pain inperceivable to just about anyone except for Al. It made him worried for his ward.
"Are you alright, Master Bruce?" he asked gently. Not so gently as to sound tender, as too much care seemed to put off 'The Batman' causing him to shut down or flee, even though he had been cared for by this same man since he was born. However, today Batman didn't hide. It almost seemed as if 'Batman' wasn't there at all by the way the response of, "Nothing," came out. It wasn't laced with gruff or the secret hidden fear of letting people close that Alfred knew he suffered. It didn't sound like Batman at all. He sounded. . . embarrassed. Like a child not wanting to speak about something cause they just wanted to bury it.
"Are you certain?" he pushed, now more just curious than worried. "Is something on your mind?"
"No, I'm fine. Nothing happened, just. . ." Bruce never finished the sentence. Remarkably unlike him. He hadn't even looked at anything on the computer yet despite having sat down in front of it. When he finally typed something, it was only the password to unlock the computer, then he was a bit frozen all over again.
Alfred just stood there, pondering. Bruce must've felt the stare on him.
"I just. . . said something really dumb. That's all." His voice had gotten quieter, and he refused to look at Alfred. Now he was worried again, cause this must mean that it was very serious to Bruce.
Alfred stepped closer till he could put his hand on Bruce's shoulder. He then slid his hand to the back of the neck, where the cowl met the suit and could be removed separately. A silent gesture Bruce caught on to as he hesitantly removed the cowl.
"I'm sure whatever was said can be forgiven by your team. They are all kind and understanding people, even towards someone as hard on the outside as you, Master Bruce." Though the last part was a small jab at the suited man, it was said with no contempt. Only comfort.
Bruce was slightly curled in on himself, and Alfred swore he could see the gleam on his ward's eyes; the gleam of watery eyes that had not yet gathered tears to shed. He hadn't seen Bruce this distraught over anything in the past dealing with the Justice League. He has come home preoccupied with guilt from being hard on the team. He has come home saddened at the team openly discussing feeling distant from him and he expressed to Alfred he just can't break past his own barriers. He has come home dissociated after grueling missions that have left the team wounded to the point of hospitalization.
But Alfred has never seen him so embarrassed to the point of possibly crying. This highly-volatile emotional state is unheard of from him.
Almost unheard of. . .
He's fidgeting with his hands, too.
'Oh, my love,' Alfred thought to himself in realization.
Alfred moved himself more to Bruce's side, practically in front of the chair, so that he could cup the boy's cheek in his hand. Those big, round eyes, definitely wet with tears about to form, finally looked up at him before he gently swatted Al's hand away and scooted the chair just a couple inches away from him. He whined as he did, a protest to it all.
"There's no need for shame, my dear."
Alfred then heard Bruce sniffle as he leaned over the desk, putting his head in his hands.
Regression was not new to them, but Bruce took much warming up to it. Realizing he did it involuntary and that it was okay was a battle to get him to realize. Then he denied himself from wanting to regress voluntarily. Then there's all the stuff inbetween such as what he wanted during regression: bottles or sippies or big boy cups, diapers or pull ups or neither, pacis or not, what toys, what books, ect. It was a fight that has lasted since his teen years, and he still admits to feeling bad about it or that he's a burden.
"How about you tell me what happened, what you said. Maybe I can help you," he attempted at redirecting the conversation back to the original topic.
Bruce sniffled again, and then breathed for a moment. He finally lifted his head from his hands. The tears had broken free, but at least he could talk.

In the Watchtower, the League was split up here and there. They had their briefing about some of the petty crimes that had teamed up on, but they all still had to write out individual reports about ones they handled on their own that night. Some liked to chat with each other, like Flash and Wonder Woman. Others liked to write alone, like Batman. But he didn't get his alone time at first. Superman had followed him through the hallways.
"I'm just suggesting to not put yourself so close to danger. Yes, it turned out to be an airsoft, but you were awfully confident for someone who couldn't confirm that from a quick, non-studying glance." Superman deemed Batman's actions that night as a bit reckless, but ultimately wasn't hounding him.
"My suit could've taken a real bullet anyways," Batman grunted back. He was sort of paying attention to Superman's talk, but he felt a little dazed. The thing was: he didn't realize he was dazed. He didn't take notice of his involuntary tuning-out of everything. He didn't feel the floors beneath his feet. He didn't have visual confirmation of where he was heading and was rather on autopilot. He couldn't feel his movements as he walked. Just dazed and unaware of it.
He could hear Superman say some other things, and he comprehended it was about being safe, but he couldn't actually recall a single word that was being said to him.
He then felt himself say something in return. It took him a second to realize what he said, though it felt like an eternity of trying to understand what it was.
"Okay, Daddy."
He said it so casually. It just slipped off his tongue. It held no weight when he said it; nothing stopped it from coming out, but when he realized, it hit him like a ton of cartoon bricks and he felt his throat close up.
They both paused physically and verbally. Batman was just internally shocked but didn't dare look or talk to Superman. He kept asking himself why he said that. Why did he say that? Why did he say that? Why did he say that?
Why did he let himself say that?!
"Well excuuuuse me for caring about this team!" Superman broke the silence with a jest. He was chuckling, but Batman couldn't process why immediately. "Okay, maybe I'm a little overbearing, but you still mean a lot to me, Bats!" He chuckled a bit more. He lightly placed his hand on the other man's shoulder as if bracing himself in whatever hilarity he perceived this as.
Batman slowly looked up at him, but Superman must've not seen the horror underneath the cowl. "I didn't know you could make a joke," he spoke as he started turning the other direction. "I'll get off your back for tonight, sonny." He spoke the last word with laughter still stuck to his voice as he half-waved, than walked away.
Batman was still stunned. Okay. Superman took it as a jest, that Bats was remarking on Superman's fatherly concern. That should have Batman relieved, but it doesn't.
Why did he let himself say that?

Bruce spoke a bit broken up and unformulaic as he tried to recount the events. The tears still ran down his face, but he didn't break down into sobs at any point.
"It just came out. I didn't think it, I just said it." Bruce was now rambling slightly through his sniffles and labored breaths to try and keep from breaking down.
"I'm certain if Superman understood, he would still forgive you for the slip," Alfred tried to comfort him.
"I shouldn't think that stuff. I was with the others, I was workin'. I shouldn't think that stuff when workin'." It was progressively getting harder to keep himself calm.
Alfred knows that his baby isn't mad for calling Superman 'Daddy', necessarily. If that were the case, it would all have been solved when Superman took it as a joke. No, he was upset that he was regressing involuntarily in front of other people. On top of that, this might have been a passing thought in his mind for a while, thinking of Clark as a caregiver. Alfred fought hard to get Bruce to see that regression wasn't gross or weak just between the two of them, but they both knew very well what outsiders thought. And Bruce, despite what others say, cares a lot about what others think about him.
"Aw, sweetheart," Alfred had caught back up to Bruce's side and grabbed one of his ward's hands. "Superman would never hurt you. You know that, don't you? He's always kind and gentle. He would understand." Al sandwiched the hand between his own, and rubbed his thumb soothingly over the top of it. "It will be alright, my love."
Bruce finally just let himself cry as Alfred pulled him into a hug. With Bruce still sitting, his head was cradled in Alfie's chest. He moved his head to the side so he could hear his heartbeat, and that helped him calm down again. That, and the gentle hand sliding up and down his back that he could feel even through the suit.
"Why don't we get you changed out of this tight suit, get you cleaned up with a bath, change into some soft pajamas, and I'll make your favorite tonight: mulligatawny soup. How does that sound, little one?"
He felt more than saw Bruce nod as his cry had returned to labored breaths.
