Life is just crazy lately. I have so much to say about so many things but most of them either aren’t worth saying or I just don’t have the time to discuss.
I really really hope that things get better again soon, because life is just real fucked up currently.
But I hope that once things have settled again a bit that I can focus on me and work on me and meeting the goals I have for myself and setting new ones.
And I’ve decided I’m DEFINITELY gunna go on a cruise as soon as I’m financially able to. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do ever since I was promised it by my ex’s mother and it fell through because she decided to do drugs and murder someone instead 🫠 (true story, she’s on an episode of snapped)
So I’m gunna get my shit together (hopefully once everything else in my life settles) and get myself a nice cruise.
#me#personal#mental health#struggles#life is stressful#sorry for the influx of posts about life#but as I said in my other post my therapists husband died so I been without a therapist#and she’s gunna be gone till at least the 18th maybe longer#also been so broke cuz of everything with mom that I haven’t had much weed to help me through#thank god for friends though#trying to make new ones irl#and so far there’s at least one girl who’s been super nice to me#and her husbands pretty cool too#soooo hopefully everything stays good there#still stressed and not ok#but she really helped today and she’s super chill so that’s good#didn’t think there was many good people left in this town lol#imma shut up now#since no one wants to read all this lmao#unless you do#then cool 👋 hello#wanna be friends?#🤣

It was the soft pitter patter of the rain against the car window that woke you up.
Slowly fluttering your eyes open, you looked out down the dark, lonely road on the other side, at the street lights were still obscured by the downpour. It's not as torrential as it was when you stepped out of the grocery store a while ago. It was too heavy for you to even drive then so you settled in your car for a while, waiting for the rain to get less harsh. You didn't realise when you fell asleep.
Looking at the 8pm flashing on your phone screen and the way darkness had engulfed everything around, a strange panic rose in you. You weren't really afraid of staying out too late but given the things that had been happening around you recently - you didn't want to take the risk.
Turning on the engine and shifting the gears, you took a deep breath, and started driving towards home.
The street was empty for the most part - not many cars were on the road given the warnings for the incoming storm earlier that day. You didn't have a choice but to leave - you were suddenly running low on supplies, the shopping list in your hand was almost a page long. You glanced at the groceries at the backseat with a satisfied sigh - guess the newfound cardio routine was doing a good job in working up your appetite.
As you neared your house, the streets became more illuminated, much to your relief. Unlike the rest of the town, your neighbourhood was a much safer space - there were streetlights, surveillance cameras and disguised cops always patrolling the area. Most people who resided here didn't know but many of the inhabitants of these row houses were in fact people placed on witness protection. You knew because you were one of them.
One year ago, your testimony in a high profile case had led to some very bad people finding themselves behind bars. In exchange, you were promised protection, leading to your identity being morphed and your life being relocated to this locality. You were promised that nothing would happen to you here, that you would be very safe. You believed it then, but not so much now - not when you turned into your street and noticed the camera at the end of it was short circuited. Perhaps the storms over the last few days had a hand in it.
You didn’t think much of it.
But maybe you should.
Because as you grabbed your groceries and ran to the door, fishing for your keys, you realised you didn't need them. The door was not locked.
You racked your brains to remember if you had locked the door before you left or if you were in too much of a hurry to beat the incoming rain. Your memory is a little fuzzy, it has been like that for awhile, but you were too cold and aching to just get inside to give it any further thought.
You must've forgotten to lock it - what other explanation could there possibly be?
Balancing the bags in one hand, you slowly pushed the door open as you stepped in, flipping the switches with bated breath.
Everything seemed fine, nothing felt out of place. Releasing a breath you tell yourself that everything is fine - you were clearly overthinking things. Paranoia had been a part of your life ever since the proceedings of that case - you were always wary, always suspicious, always scared. Though, you shouldn't be feeling that way anymore, you had taken your medication - you should be fine.
But how were you supposed to feel fine when every small thing made the hair on your skin stand. Like the curtains in the living room being open for example. You never kept the curtains open, especially not since your new neighbour moved in a few months ago.
He called himself Choi Seungcheolwhen he knocked on the door to offer an introduction. You didn't know if that was his real name or the one the cops had given him as a part of the programme. Either way you didn't ask him lest he might ask you yours in return - you didn't need your identity compromised, not when the gang of those convicts was still actively looking for you. You had simply nodded and shut the door.
Since then, you’ve always had the curtains closed. You had to, because somehow every time you looked out, Seungcheol was by his window, watching you. If you were being honest, Seungcheol was hot as fuck and a year ago, if a man like that was interested in you, you wouldn't have let him go. But things were different now - you couldn't trust anyone anymore.
Walking up to the window, you stumbled over the dumbbell in the way as you glanced at the neighbouring house. The two of your houses were the only ones on the street that weren't covered in Halloween decorations. It made sense - you were both single and did not have to deal with whining, crying, demanding children so there was no need for this facade.
But you weren’t that lackluster, you did buy and keep some candy for the trick or treaters though you wouldn’t know if Seungcheol had done the same - he didn't seem too particularly fond of children. He never let them near the house. In fact he never let anyone into his house. You had never seen a woman or a friendly face from town or even a family member step into his place - he pretty much always kept to himself. It’s not like anyone else in this neighborhood had the luxury for such anyway.
At present, there was no sight of him or even his silhouette, with how the curtains of his house were drawn but all the lights were still on. Sighing a little in relief, you do the same, shutting the blinds. Still feeling the weight of the dumbbell against your foot, you pushed it out of the way, wondering how it had displaced itself from the rest of the workout equipment in the first place. You hadn’t even used those in a while now.
Still lost in thought, you walked into the kitchen and as you turned the lights on, a shiver ran down your spine.
Something was off, something did not seem right.
At first glance everything seemed fine, but looking again carefully–nothing seemed right. The apron wasn't in its usual place by the spice rack, you don’t recall leaving out a glass of water on the counter, or leaving a packet of corn chips open. You never leave things out when you leave, you always put them away.
But things like this had been happening ever since you started your medication. You were more forgetful, and that was inconvenient but without your daily dosage it was like a fight between your nerves and caution - anything that moved invoked fear in you, every small sound made you shiver. There was no choice but to take those pills everyday. It was the only think keeping you sane.
Shaking your head, you organized everything back in place again. Everything was fine. You had taken an extra dosage right before you left the house, you were just a little fazed from all the chemicals. Surely it was just your imagination, it wasn't like anyone could have entered the house in your absence….right?
But there was a half eaten bowl of cereal in the sink and you… you were lactose intolerant, you didn't drink milk - that couldn't be yours. Hands shaking, you took a step back.
Someone was in this house.
Quickly opening the drawer, you grabbed a knife, gripping the handle hard and tight. The only question was, were they still in the house?
Wiping the sweat off your face, you took a small careful step out of the kitchen.
It was quiet, deadly quiet, there was not a sound to be heard, but the hum of the electrical appliances and the soft patter of the rain outside. Then you heard it, ears sharp and sensitive to the sound of water dripping. Slowly you moved towards the washroom, holding your weapon out, breath shaking.
When you cautiously pushed the door open you noticed the floor was wet, water leaking from the shower head, drop after drop. You've never had this problem before, did you have a plumbing issue?
Stepping in, you tried to fix the faucet with your free hand. But no matter how many times you adjusted the hardware, water continued to drip, rendering you unsuccessful in your attempts. It felt like a really strong hand had broken the tap which was silly because you were definitely careful with how you handled your things? Neither could have broken this nor clearly, could you fix it. Annoyed by your failure and the thought of calling maintenance, you stepped out of the shower, catching sight of yourself in the mirror.
There was a strange tiredness etched all over your features, hiding a stranger something behind it. Your eyes had sunken further into their sockets, thin wisps of hair framing your face - You’ve definitely had better days and was… was that a knife in your hand?
You glanced at it quizzically. Why did you step into the shower with a knife?
Softly smacking your head at your silliness, you walked back into the living room, leaving the tap for another day. Half yawning with tiredness were ready to retire for the night when your eyes fell on the grocery bags still waiting for you on the table - you had forgotten about it. Groaning at the thought of having to put everything away, you set the knife on the dining table and grabbed your purchases instead, taking them into the pantry. Perhaps it was because you were too deeply immersed in your organisation, but your otherwise sharp ears missed the rustling of the leaves outside, crunching under someone’s footsteps.
Going through the grocery checklist scribbled in horrible handwriting to make sure you had gotten everything, you swiftly began putting them all in their place. The pastas in the jars, the fruits in the baskets, the sauces in the tray. The heaviest thing you bought was perhaps those huge jars of protein powder. You weren't really sure why you decided to buy it - sure your doctor said you were too weak and needed to exercise to build strength but you didn't need to buy all of the products the Internet recommended to you.
Telling yourself you'll find use for it later, you pushed them onto the shelves and turned to the meat instead, throwing them into the fridge. You didn't really know how to cook meat too well but you wanted to try. Seungcheol had once grilled some meat in his backyard and came over to offer you a few bites. When you tried to take it from him at the door, he pulled his hand back and cocked his head.
“Are you not going to invite me inside?”
He was always trying to make a move on you like that. You knew what he wanted, you knew what he had his eyes on but the answer was, no. You could take the deliciously cooked meat from him but couldn't let him into the house. It was too soon to trust him.
But Seungcheol was relentless.
It was evident with how he was the only one in town who turned up at the video store where you worked. And he came everyday. Normal people didn't borrow a new movie everyday, right? Clearly he was flirting with you. Or at least he was trying to. You only ever behaved professionally with him . Except sometimes, when he asked for movie recommendations of a very specific genre. You didn't really know many serial killer documentaries or crime podcasts to suggest, so you would simply ask a colleague to take over. Over the days, you watched him consume every last bit of thrillers available in the store and distantly wondered if he had a life outside of this consumption.
Perhaps not. Seungcheol seemed a bit odd like that.
He talked to everyone in town but didn't really seem to have any friends. He wasn't home for days together sometimes - you didn't really know the nature of his job so you couldn't tell why his absence was so frequent. He always drove that tiny pickup truck of his with some weird boxes and bags hidden under big blue plastic sheets in the trunk. .
The whole deal about him was just not right. You knew something about him was not right. Even though he was incredibly pleasant on the eye, you had to be wary of him.
You had to be wary of everything. .
But maybe you weren't always as alert as you should be. Because it was only as you were putting away the last of the snacks that you heard that sound - the thumping.
It seemed like it was coming from outside…. Or was it upstairs? It felt like it was coming from right above, like the sound of someone's feet.
And just like that,, you remembered the intruder again - the one who might still be in your home.
Quickly you rushed to grab the knife from the table once more and held it out in defense. Whoever came to the house was most definitely still here, you could feel it in your bones.
As you slowly made your way towards the stairs, trying to maintain a soft footfall to avoid the creaking of the stairs, another sound took you aback.
No, not your racing heart - The doorbell.
Turning sharply, you glanced at the door with wide eyes. Who could it possibly be? At this late hour?
The ringing only became more persistent, morphing into knocks while you inched towards the door, grip on the knife tightening.
As you slowly pressed down the handle and slightly opened the door, you were met with cheerful voices, much to your relief.
“Happy Halloween!”
Before you was a tiny ghost, a pirate, a couple of princesses and a buzz lightyear, all half your height, looking at you surprised.
“Ms. L/n!”
“Hey kiddos.”
“Where's Mr. Choi?” The pirate pouted. “We thought we could finally get him to be nice to us, hand us some treats.”
“Aw.” You pinched his cheek with your free hand. The one that was not hiding the knife behind the door. “Mr. Choi isn't in town sadly.”
The little kid looked at you quizzically. “Then what are you doing in his house?”
.
.
.
Oh.
You blinked at him while he looked up at you expectantly.
Then your lips split into a sweet, saccharine smile.
“He asked me to look after it while he was gone.”
“When will Mr. Choi be back?”
You glanced at the inquisitive little ghost, fiddling with the knife in your hand.
Please, please don't make me use this.
“Do you want an answer or candy?” You cocked your head cheekily. “I'm only giving out one.”
“Candy!” They screamed as you laughed and reached for the packet you had just bought, ripping it open with the knife.
They watched excitedly as you dropped handfuls of chocolate into their little baskets and plastic pumpkins. With a scream of “Ms. L/N is the best!” they scurried away to their next target of the night. And so did you, tossing the knife onto the table once again.
You clutched your head and released a low hiss of irritation at the dull throb. Those stupid medicines were really getting to your head now, you were forgetting too many important things. Thank fuck for the children, otherwise you would have never remembered what really had to be done.
Locking the door behind you, you quickly made your way up the stairs. There was no need to head softly - the stairs had a tendency to creak in your house, not in Seungcheol’s.
The thumping from earlier was more pronounced now as your senses slowly cleared up, much like how the light flooded from underneath the bedroom door. The soft thumps are getting louder and louder as you neared it. With a twist of the knob and swing of the door, you tilt your head with a smile.
Light flooded from underneath the bedroom door, the soft thumping sound getting louder and louder as you neared it. Opening it wide, you cocked your head with a smile.
There he was.
Sitting on a chair in the middle of the room, Seungcheol was looking gorgeous as ever. He was dressed in just his grey sweatpants, the thick muscles of his shoulders and pecs bared before you. His biceps too were popping on either side thanks to the fact that his hands were tied at the back of the chair. Oh and his mouth was gagged shut, his words turning into muffled whimpers as he looked at you wide eyed, halting the stomping of his feet.
“I know, I know, I'm sorry.” You raised your hands apologetically. “I meant to be back soon but you know how I am, forgetful little me. I'm sorry baby.” You neared him, walking around his chair, bending to whisper in his ear. “But I see you're having your fun.”
Your eyes flickered from the tent in his pants to the laptop you left on for his entertainment, right in the line of his vision. You see yourself on the screen, dressed in the hottest lingerie you owned, looking right in the camera with the vibrator held just where you needed him and only one name spilling from your mouth - Seungcheol.
This wasn't the video you played from him before you left for the grocery store - perhaps they were auto playing, lucky him. You had hours of such footage of yourself - in all kinds of positions, with every possible toy, in role play costumes, in every possible color of lingerie, you had an unmatchable variety. The only thing common among all of them was his name. Choi Seungcheol.
Could you be blamed? The man was unbelievably attractive. It wasn't like you didn't try to avoid him, to repel all that magnetism. You were well aware of your nature - it hadn't been long since you had gotten a chance to start afresh and you didn't want to spiral again. You really really didn't.
But Seungcheol was persistent. He wouldn't stop flirting with you at any given chance, he kept trying to invite himself home, he was consistently intrusive. You kept him at bay for the longest time, at least until the day you had to return the box he had left with you, the one in which he gave you the grilled meat.
You didn't expect him to open the door with his shirt off, slick with sweat, flushed and half panting. When you caught sight of the dumbbells behind him, could tell he was working out but somehow you couldn't help but think this was probably how he looked when he fucked and god did that make your mouth water.
That day he shouldn't have invited you in. Then you wouldn't have found your resolve crumbling so weakly. You wouldn't have found yourself under him being pounded like there was no tomorrow. You wouldn't have crossed the line like this.
What started that day set off a cascade of events. Sleeping with Seungcheol became quite a regular act - there was no part of you that he had left unexplored, untouched. He was in every crevice, every cell, you were entirely consumed by him. When you were at work, all you could think about was how well he fucked you the day before. When you were on the way home, all you could think about was how well he was going fuck you today. Even after you reached, you always made it a point to immediately wash up, wear your nicest underwear and knock on his door. You always did it at his house.
He did try to come to your place a couple of times but you consistently steered the two of you back to his house somehow. It was one thing to let him cum in you but to come into your house? You couldn’t have that happening, he’d ask too many questions - why do you never use the garage Y/n? Why was it always locked Y/n? Why did you have a ridiculous number of gardening tools in your house when you don’t even grow any plants Y/n? You knew the questions wouldn't seize and the answers weren’t good for him. They weren't good for anyone who's heard them all these years.
Another reason you didn't want him home was because you didn't want to ruin the surprise.
Now, Seungcheol was a self-sufficient man. He was happy with himself, his life, his home, his solitude. It was evident all he was looking for in you was a good fuck - afterall, he would never ask you to stay the night or to be his girlfriend even though you'd been seeing each other for months. You were okay with that….. for now. The two of you were still exploring, still understanding each other's bodies and limits. You didn't mind him taking his time, you needed your time as well.
You see, Seungcheol loved his home. He loved every piece of furniture, every bowl, every mat - he was incredibly fond of his space, taking all the time and effort in the world to curate it. You, on the other hand, didn't really care much for your house. As long as it could fulfill basic needs and keep you safe, you were good - it wasn't like you stayed for long in one place anyways. But your heart knew that you wanted to stay with Seungcheol for the rest of your life. There was something dark about him too that told you he belonged with you the way you belonged to him. You wanted him to feel like he belonged to you too, you wanted him to feel at home with you. You wanted to be his home.
That's why you took months together to design and turn your house into an identical replica of Seungcheol’s.
And when you say replica you mean down to the T. Everything was the same. You made sure it was the same. All those times he was away for days together thanks to his job, you found yourself slipping into his house taking detailed notes of every object, every piece. You would only see, not touch or take anything away. Come on, you were no thief, thieves are bad people..
After that you had spent all your time online or going from store to store, finding originals and duplicates of his belongings. Given that he loved to have really exclusive pieces in his house they were not easy to procure but with a little sweet talk, a little threatening and a little unspeakable things, you had somehow managed to bring them all home. To the home you were making for him.
Earlier this week, you had gotten hold of the last piece of the jigsaw puzzle - a childhood photo of Seungcheol's family, framed and hung on the wall. It was the hardest thing to get your hands on. His estranged sister would not leave her house for long enough - it took a major occupational accident at her husband's construction site to finally get her moving.
With everything finally in place today, just as the sun began to set, you went over to Seungcheol's house to bring him over at last, to show him what you had done for him. Seeing how his front door was unlocked you stepped in, curiously looking around for him. But that feeling evaporated the moment you heard that sound - the sound of a woman moaning.
It felt like the ground under your feet had slipped. Perhaps that was why you grabbed the baseball bat leaning against the wall, to give your shaking hands something to hold on to as you made your way to his bedroom…. He didn't even bother to shut the door.
There he was, sitting on the bed with his laptop open before him, frantically getting himself off to the video of some pizza delivery girl getting her “payment”.
Porn. He was watching porn.
The moment his eyes fell on you by the door, he quickly tucked his length into his sweats and jumped off the bed, looking at you like you were crazy. Oh no Choi Seungcheol. He didn't just do that. He shouldn't have. Maybe then you wouldn't have swung the bat and knocked him out cold. Maybe he wouldn't have found himself in the middle of the room all tied up when he came around.
You just couldn't understand him. What was the need for him to look at other women or even think of one when you were right there? Was he bored of you? Were you not enough? You did everything you could to keep him - every depraved fantasy, every humiliating act, every time he was rough to bruise you for days together, you took it all, you begged for more. Then why was he doing this?
When he finally opened his eyes, he didn't answer your questions, he was simply screaming to set free. Well of course the only thing you could do was to shut his mouth in some way and with him unable to speak, you had to find other ways to get answers. You needed to find out if Seungcheol was just not attracted to you anymore.
That's why you brought out your video collection, little films you had taken of yourself back when you were still pushing him away, all while wondering what it was like to get fucked by him. His mouth may say whatever but anatomy couldn't lie right? There was something else that could stand up and answer you.
You had meant to stay and watch, afterall, you were proud of the quality of your content but the flashes of thunder outside told you that perhaps it was wiser for you to go to the store first. You knew whatever was going to transpire wouldn't be over any time soon, you had to stock up before the storm locked you in. Besides, it was Halloween night, all the cute little kids would be coming around for candy, you didn't want to miss out on that.
You didn't and thanks to them, you didn't succumb to your forgetfulness and miss out on this either.
“There there.” You cooed, removing his gag and he coughed, unable to regain his ability to speak just yet. You waited for him to come around, walking back to sit on the edge of the bed as he looked at you meekly.
“Water.” He whispered, voice just a little horse.
You raised your eyebrow. How did he manage to sound so sexy all the time?
“Thirsty are we?” You smiled. “I thought my gift might have helped.”
“Y/n please.” He groaned. “What kind of sick joke is this?”
Oh. He thinks it's a joke. A little Halloween scare perhaps. A prank gone overboard. Oh he has no idea.
“I think it's me who you take for a joke.” You glanced down at his raging boner. “Or not, considering how excited you are.”
You got up, leaning over him, hand gripping the back of his chair.
“I'll help you.” You licked your lips. “Either I'll untie you, take my little collection and get out of here. Or I'll help with your not so little predicament with any and every hole I have…. Pick your poison.”
Seungcheol looked at you wide eyed. His breath was shaking, lips were quivering and a hundred and one things seemed to be running behind those pretty eyes.
Slowly gulping, his Adams apple moving with a bob, he shut his eyes.
“It's unbearable.” He mumbled. “It's just…. Please help me.”
And you knew exactly what he wanted you to do.
Sliding off the bed, you got on your knees, crawling up to him, slotting yourself between his legs. Seungcheol’s eyes flew open when your hands found his thigh, a soft sigh tumbling out of his mouth. He loved to fuck your mouth. He loved how eager to please you always were, always trying to take in more of him, always trying to do better. God he loved it.
He watched as you pulled his sweats down the best you could and wrapped your tiny hand around his dick. He was raging hard, the tip flushed in an angry red, precum smeared all over. You were lucky he was in your control now. If he were allowed to have his way, he might just break you.
Stroking him agonisingly slowly, you inched closer to place a small kiss on his tip, the softest interaction that had ever happened between the two of you. Before Seungcheol could even relish that moment you wrapped your lips around his length and took him all the way in. Fucking hell. Seungcheol thought he was going to pass out with how intensely you were blowing him. He wished you'd untie his hands. He'd go anything to just push your head down his dick and feel himself in your throat. That was a sureshot at making him come, these shallow and fast bobs of your head were only aggravating him.
Maybe that's what you wanted. Because the moment he let out his tell tale groan, letting you know he was close, you pulled away with a pop and wrapped your hand around his cock instead. Before he could complain about losing the warmth of your mouth you began stroking him fast thanks to the wetness of your spit and before you knew it, he felt himself reaching that high, meaningless words leaving his mouth. With a few more jerks, he came all over himself in spurts, ropes of white coating his abdomen.
As he tried to battle his feelings of relief after finding a much needed release, disappointment for not coming in your mouth, and slight fear, not understanding what the hell was going on, you slowly let him go, wiping your hand on his sweats. Looking straight into his eyes, you leaned forward, gathering the cum all over his skin with your tongue and showing it to him before you swallowed it. Fuck, Seungcheol felt the blood rushing down there again. He was far from done tonight.
Getting up you looked at him questioningly though you were well aware of the answer.
“Do you need more?”
Unable to do anything else, he nodded slowly, whispering please.
Smirking, you quickly stripped yourself out of your clothes. You would have made a show out of it, tease him slowly but you were equally desperate to fuck him so you quickly abandoned that idea. Throwing your garments somewhere, you clambered onto his lap, aligning yourself over his dick. You didn't need any prep or lube, you were practically dripping from just blowing him.
Slowly sinking onto his length you threw your head back, finally feeling full. Seungcheol moaned too, burying his face between your boobs as you bottomed out, your grip like a vice. Holding onto his shoulders you began fucking yourself on his length, snapping your hips relentlessly. You could tell the feeling was too much for Seungcheol too as he bit on the soft skin of your breasts. It stung painfully but you let him - you always let him do whatever he wanted to you anyways.
“Tired?” He looked up at you with a triumphant smirk as your pace began to falter thanks to the not so comfortable position of your legs. “Are you finally going to ask me for help?”
You shook your head. You didn't want him to have the upper hand anymore.
“Don't be stubborn, doll. You know it's better when I have my hands on you.” He ran his tongue along your breast, relishing the sweet and salty taste of you. “Untie my hands and we can make this better y/n. I know how much you love my fingers up your ass, and how much you like the grip on my hands all over you and how much you want me . Come on baby, untie me.”
You didn't want to, you really didn't want to but a part of you knew he was right. He could make you feel so good.
Reaching over you pulled on the knot holding his hands together and in a flash his hands gripped the bottom on your thighs and with the sheer strength of his that you loved, he got up, lifting you along with him. Immediately pinning you to the wall, he began thrusting into you, drawing out the most exquisite moans from you as he hit the spot again and again and again. When unable to hold it anymore, you came around him, he tossed you onto the bed, pounding into you mercilessly, making you cum around him one more time before he painted your ass and back with his own release. Even then the night was far from over.
After that he fucked you almost till dawn, pushing you to the limit as he made you cum so many times, you couldn't even keep count anymore. All you knew was that every bit of your body was screaming and creaming in pleasure - it was confirmed, you had to have Seungcheol for life, you had to do whatever it took to keep this insane man forever. You didn't know how but you could think about that later. For now, as day break approached, the two of you passed out in his bed.
Seungcheol looked at you under the afternoon sun streaming into his room. You were fast asleep - he tried waking you up a couple of times but you just would not budge. Finally giving up he resorted to just staring at you.
Last night was…. better than Seungcheol’s wildest dreams. He always knew he was a bit of a freak, but he didn't think he'd find someone to match it in this quiet town he had been reluctant to relocate to. Even when he first met you, he thought you'd be one sweet love making session at most but you took him completely by surprise. You were as wild as he was - you were down for anything he asked, you never said no and most importantly, you enjoyed it all. Seungcheol thought he had hit the jackpot with you.
But yesterday was most definitely not normal. At that time he was thinking with his dick because all the blood in his body was clearly there but as he looked back at what happened, nothing about it was right. You had knocked him out, tied and gagged him up before you left him. You had hours of footage of you pleasuring yourself to the thought of him…
Seungcheol had noticed the dates. It was way before the two of you had begun your little arrangement and he didn't know what to think about that. There were tiny sirens going off in his head telling him to run as fast as he could but Seungcheol couldn't stop staring at you. You were ridiculously beautiful and he just had the best sex of his life last night.
When you whined softly and turned over in your sleep, Seungcheol finally rolled off the bed and dressed himself. Finding your scattered clothes on the floor he gathered them, looking at them with a frown. He couldn't have you wear these again and his clothes were far too big for your tiny frame. Maybe it was time to start making room in his closet for a few of your clothes.
Knowing how tired you must be given last night's events, he silently fished out the keys from the pocket of your pants and decided to bring you a fresh pair from your house.
He shouldn't have gone over. He never should have stepped into your house. Maybe then the tiny sirens in his head wouldn't have become a full blown ringing.
If he had never discovered the truth of your house, if he wasn’t staring at an exact replica of his space, maybe he would've never come to terms that last night was indeed extremely abnormal.
You were not normal.
Something was very very wrong with you, the dozens of medications on the dining table were a testament of that. Seungcheol knew he had to go. He had to leave you and that house and this town. He needed to run away from this madness.
But when he turned to leave, he felt his heart stop just for a second.
There you were, right at the door, dressed in yesterday's clothes, looking at him expressionlessly. Your eyes ran over his face as he felt the hair on his skin stand.
He had to go, he had to get the hell out of here.
“Oh baby.”
You cocked your head at him, leaning against the frame with a small smile.
This was an expression you had never seen on Seungcheol's face before - a mix of shock and fear and repulsion. You could tell he wanted to run. You knew he would end things now, you knew it was over but alas, it was too late to let him go.
You couldn't let him go.
Taking a step ahead, you slowly closed the door behind you, inching closer to him, yesterday’s knife stashed safely in the back pocket of your pants.
“Do you want to see what's in my garage?”
A/n - As usual, comments and reblogs are much appreciated - I'd love to hear your thoughts, it really helps :)

Series Masterlist
“Eddie.”
“Hey, Eddie.”
“Earth to Eddie.”
“EDDIE.”
“Shit! Sorry,” he says, breaking out of his thoughts and coming back to reality. He stares at his notes in his DM folder and he literally has no idea where the campaign has left off. He clears his throat and awkwardly flips through the pages. “Umm..”
“We just made it to the fishing town and we were tasked by a local merchant to kill a sea serpent that’s poisoning the local fish in exchange for..”
“Oh yeah,” he interjects, grabbing the correct script he needs to continue. “Uh, did you roll..?”
“Are you kidding me, man! What the hell?” Gareth exclaims, exasperated. “What’s wrong with you today?”
Eddie’s face turns pink, shaking his head and ignoring the question. He was not going to admit to being distracted. He’s not embarrassed to talk to the guys about you, but he hasn’t told anyone he signed up for the study. He didn’t want to admit he was desperate or lonely, he’s too proud. He knows his friends don’t care, but it’s a mental block he can’t pass.
“Nothing, I’m good. Just let it go,” he says defensively.
“No way. Fucking spill it,” Jeff laughs.
Eddie racks his mind for the most sane way to answer their questions. He sighs, pushing a mess of his curly hair out of his face.
“Who is she?” Gareth asks, raising an eyebrow.
***
DAY FOUR
“I’m mad at you,” Eddie says, and you roll your eyes.
“What did I do now?” You ask, playful sarcasm evident in your voice.
“You’re throwing me off my game”
“I don’t even know what you mean by that.”
“Obviously because I’m really cool and popular,” he jokes, “I’m a Dungeon Master as you know.”
“Yup, I’m familiar,” you toy.
“My friends called my ass out so many times last night for not paying attention and I kept fucking up.”
“I don’t appreciate you pinning this on me,” you chuckle. “I didn’t do anything.”
“Lies!” He says in a bravado. “You are the distraction! You have managed to weasel your way into every aspect of mind- I hope you’re proud of yourself. I’m probably going to be dethroned. My reign is over.”
You bite your bottom lip, to hold back the goofy smile you know is creeping over your whole face. Never before has anyone made you feel like this. The notebook to keep track of other “dates” is long forgotten. You only want to continue talking to Eddie. You wonder if any of the other people you spoke to felt a connection this strong. You’re dying to know if there are other people who feel as good as you right now.
“What were you thinking about?” you ask shyly. You can hear the way it makes Eddie stop in his tracks. You assume he wears some sort of chain on his pants cause you can hear it when he paces, but suddenly, his end of the wall falls silent.
“How honest do you want me to be?” he asks, suddenly sounding shy.
“What do you mean by that?”
“Well, I could go the cheesy, romantic, ‘I was thinking about you’ way- which is true. Or, I could be brutally honest because ‘I was thinking about you’ in this context has much more implications than that.”
“You’re confusing me,” you laugh, “just tell me.”
“Do you ever fantasize about when we get out of here? In like, a you know-”
“Like sexually?” you ask, throwing him a bone. He was drowning.
“Yeah,” he admits, and you can hear the chain on his pant leg as he fidgets.
“Yes,” you answer honestly, “I do.”
“I think about it all the time,” he says, the confession spilling out, “The fact that I can’t touch you is driving me fucking insane. It’s not even like just like the thought of getting to fuck you- it’s like being close to you and like feeling your body heat, or like the weight of you sitting on my lap, what it feels like to just touch your skin- just everything that we’re being denied. I don’t even have a visual in my head to go off of it’s just like- I don’t know, man…”
You wince at the mention of sitting on his lap. “I don’t know if you’d want me on your lap for a long time..,” you sound defeated.
“Um, don’t speak for me,” he cuts you off, playfully. “Any man who doesn’t want the full weight of his woman on his lap is a fucking idiot. Ugh, I don’t even think you understand just how amazing it is. I don’t care if you try to fight me on this, princess. You’re sitting on me, and I will love every second of it.”
“I’m not thin, Eddie,” you whisper, feeling defeated. You hear him blow a raspberry and then he knocks on the wall.
“I… don’t… care,” he emphasizes by drawing out each word. “You need to believe me. I couldn’t care less about your weight, your height, your hair… whatever it is. I like you! And that means I like every part of you.”
His voice begins to raise, like he is yelling up, “If these fuckers would realize we’re done already and let me out.” He then lowers his voice like he’s looking back to the wall. “I want you. The experiment fucking works, I wish I could show you what you do to me cause maybe then it’ll finally stick. I’m going out of my mind that I can’t touch you and show you how much I want you, your body, everything. Do you need me to spell it out?”
“Would you have still found me attractive if we met outside of this experiment?” you ask, “I bet you wouldn’t have even looked my way if you saw me at a bar or something.”
“Sweetheart,” he coaxes, “absolutely. I know that I would’ve been annoying the shit out of you for your number. You’d have been the one to reject me, I guarantee it.”
“I would have never,” you reply.
“So if it’s possible for you to know that you wouldn't have rejected me without seeing me,” Eddie muses, “why can’t you believe the same for me?”
“You haven’t asked me a single thing about my appearance,” he continues, “Do you care how much I weigh? Do you care if I’m short?”
“Not at all. I haven’t thought about it,” you admit.
“I haven’t either. Now, please let me have my fantasy of you sitting on my lap please,” he whines, “I need something to get me through the day, Christ.” You laugh at his fake annoyance.
You’re so happy at how he’s able to talk you down. It amazes you how he’s able to see through the insecurities and brings you back down to Earth.
“Okay, okay,” you say, settling back into the couch and getting comfortable. You rest your head back.
“I don’t know, basically, we’re in the middle of the campaign- I literally spent weeks writing it,” he continues, “and I literally just can’t stop thinking about how amazing it would be if you were there. I’m just sitting there, thinking about what it would feel like to just have you sitting on my lap while we’re playing and then I’m thinking about how I want to feel lean back on me and I’d have my arm around your waist holding you, and maybe I’d rub little circles on the side of your thigh and I thought about how soft you probably feel and then suddenly I’m sporting the most embarrassing boner which thankfully no one saw- Fuck, this is what you’re doing to me.”
***
“Is there any way to end the trial early?” Eddie asks, sitting in the interview room. There’s a man putting a pulse oximeter on his right index finger and another testing his blood pressure with a monitor on his left side.
Two other technicians sit across from Eddie, taking notes from Eddie’s answers on a clipboard. They have tested his levels of dopamine and norepinephrine. They’re taking extensive notes on Eddie’s physical reactions to you, and the same is done to all of the candidates- including you. They continue to ignore Eddie’s questions as they ramble on about his levels of oxytocin.
“In order for us to gather all of the information necessary, this isn’t possible,” one of them finally answers.
“But I’m telling you how I feel- I’m telling you it works,” he insists.
“Mr. Muson,” one says, closing a file folder that contains his charts. “This is a study in brain chemistry. You agreed to participate for the designated number of days and in exchange you’d receive compensation. Your conversations between yourself and the other candidates is not our business, nor what you choose to do afterwards. Our job here is to collect data, not the details of your personal life.”
“I can’t believe this,” he scoffs, rolling his eyes. He pulls off the oximeter and grabs his jean jacket. He walks out, despite their protests, flipping them off as he goes. He couldn’t care less about the lousy $200. As far as he was concerned, they poked and prodded the two of you enough.
Of course, he did show up the next day. Promptly with a big grin on his face, he walked in with a happy go-lucky attitude that the entire lab team was secretly sick of dealing with. These sudden outbursts and dramatic tirades were becoming a staple of Eddie’s interviews and they equally couldn’t wait to be done with him.
***
DAY FIVE
“Are these dice?” You ask with a chuckle, opening the small, black velvet bag that’s been left for you on the table in the room. You empty the bag out into your hand and watch as the dice roll into your palm one at a time. They’re all red and shimmer as you move them around in your cupped hand.
“Well, I wanted you to have them,” you hear his voice explain from the other side of the wall. You’re beaming as you carefully pour them back into the bag and tie it off.
“This is so sweet, Eds,” you marvel. “I love them.”
“I also brought my guitar and like in a non-douchebag way I was kind of hoping to play something for you,” he says, his guitar perched on his lap. “I’ve just been working on this song and I wanted your opinion on it.”
It's surprisingly soft sounding. You were expecting heavy guitar, something really metal based on what Eddie has told you about his music taste and his band. It’s slower paced, like a dreamy, slow rock ballad.
You wished you could see him, observe how he looks when he’s concentrating or how his fingers look strumming against the cords. You just know he has the most beautiful hands. You imagine his fingers and try to visualize them flexing as he strums. You’re so distracted by it that you almost miss him singing a verse.
“It’s not done yet,” he prefaces, still strumming. “I’m still working on the lyrics so don’t think too much about them, just like the meaning and the melody you know?”
“Yeah totally,” you hum in agreement. “I think it sounds great.” He smiles at the praise.
***
Before
You anxiously sit by the front window, peeking out between the blinds occasionally. You smooth out the skirt of the new dress your mom bought you, and you make sure your hair is still how you requested. Your mom let you wear makeup and you picked eyeshadow that matches your dress and you feel like a million bucks. It’s your ninth grade formal, and the star of the JV basketball team asked you to be his date.
The minutes tick by and the time changes from reasonably late to stood up. You still hold out hope, and reject your parents' offers to just drive you to the dance. It’s been 45 minutes now, and you still hoped he’d be there. It was long past an hour that you admitted that he wasn’t coming.
The following Monday you learned the whole thing was a prank, and he never wanted to ask you to the dance. It’s in the school paper that he’s at the dance, dancing cheek to cheek with one of the cheerleaders, who you can’t help but compare yourself to.
***
Eddie is sitting at the middle school cafeteria table alone. He’s about a hundred pages into the Hobbit and the crusts of his peanut butter sandwich are forgotten about on the crinkly brown paper bag Uncle Wayne packed his lunch in. He’s long forgotten he’s sitting alone, far too engrossed in the story to care, when suddenly his head is yanked back by someone tugging on his t-shirt.
“What’s up, Freak?” the voice asks before shoving Eddie back towards the table. He catches himself on the edge before his head comes in contact with the surface. He winces as anger boils up inside him. The three jocks laugh amongst themselves until a familiar voice shoos them away.
“Sorry about them,” she says apologetically as Eddie looks to see her. Chrissy. He notices how she glances from him to the cafeteria table where the cheerleaders sit, and Eddie knows she doesn’t want to be seen with him for too long.
“You can go, I’m fine,” Eddie says, forcing a laugh to make her feel better. “But, uh, I wanted to ask you-”
“Okay, thanks,” she says, cutting him off and practically skipping to sit next to the prick who shoved him. Eddie recoils as the jock’s arm wraps around her. Eddie rolls his eyes and gets up to have lunch outside. Along with the remains of his lunch, he shoves the necklace he meant to give her in the bin. He’d stayed up past his bedtime, Wayne showing him how to drill a small hole into the top of one of his guitar picks to put a metal jewelry loop through so it could be put on a silver chain.
***
You’re sitting at the table in the dimly lit restaurant and sipping on your cocktail when you see him walk in. He matches the description your friend gave you, and you feel yourself smile at how cute he is- definitely living up to the hype. Your friend spent weeks convincing you to go out on this date- one of her boyfriend’s best friends. They’re in the same fraternity.
You can see as he walks into the dining room, he’s looking around trying to find his date. You offer a smile when he makes eye contact, and you offer a small wave.
“James?” You ask, “you’re exactly like how Donna described you.” He offers a polite closed lipped smile, and a nod, taking a seat across from you without saying anything.
As the date continues, you notice you’re doing a lot of the talking. You ask him questions and you’re met with a lot of one word answers. He looks detached, checking his watch and his attention seems to be wandering throughout the restaurant at anything but you. By the time your entrees arrive, he yawns.
“I’m sorry, did I do something or say something?” you ask, hesitantly.
“No, no you’re good,” he says, straightening his posture like it would correct the behavior he’s been exhibiting.
He pays for dinner, and you ask if he’d like to do this again sometime (just to be polite, you knew it was going nowhere). He sucks in air from between his teeth, and lets out an exhale.
“You’re a nice person,” he says, putting his hands in his pockets as he waits for the valet to bring his car. “I’m sorry, but you aren’t really my type. Tom didn’t tell me anything about you really. I just felt like we didn’t click.” You notice the way his eyes scan your body, the unspoken awkwardness of you knowing what he isn’t saying. You nod, and say strained goodbyes as he gets in his car. You wished you were more surprised.
***
Eddie is met with dirty looks when he approaches a girl at the bar. He feels her eyes on his tattoos and on his clothes, judging him. He sees her friend, who's also looking at him, lean in and whisper something and they both laugh. He knows the joke is on him, yet again.
He opts to hang where he is, leaning against one of the high top tables, when he watches another guy approach her. He’s muscular, of course he is, and Eddie looks down at his own torso in comparison as this guy’s abs strain his shirt. Eddie scoffs, but now feels incredibly insecure at how his own shirt hangs loosely on his figure.
***
DAY SIX
“Are you still worried about tomorrow?” Eddie asks, playing haphazardly with his rings as he sits with his forearms rested on his thighs.
“A little,” you admit sheepishly. “Are you?”
“More excited than nervous,” he replies honestly. “This whole thing has been fucking wild,” he chuckles, shaking his head.
“Insane,” you agree, laying on the couch, staring up at the ceiling.
“I just wanted to ask, no pressure,” Eddie says, clearing his throat, “Uh the other day, when we talked about, you know- what’s gonna happen when we see each other…”
“Yes?”
“You said to not hold back, I don’t remember exactly what it was but along the lines of ‘I don’t want you to hold back. Just whatever feels right to you in that moment, do it. Kiss me, touch me, I’m down for everything.’ Or something. I just want to make sure…”
“You don’t remember exactly, huh?” you tease.
“Is that still what you want?” he asks earnestly.
“Without a doubt,” you smile.

Thank you so much for doing my angst request! It was so good! Can I request a new one? I’m in a mood for angst lately, but with smutty ending lol
Reader and Rhea have broke up a while ago, but Rhea is taking it harder than she thought she would. She hears that reader is going on dates (which is actually just to kill time and as an effort to move on, but Rhea doesn’t know that). She feels angry and jealous that she’s replaced so fast and confronts reader about it. During the argument things are getting heated and “somehow” they resolve the misunderstanding horizontally 😅
i’m so glad you liked it! I’m hoping it was the one with the prompt bc that one was fun to write. thank you for making another request!
after writing: it’s a bit more sad than angry bc i lowkey went thru this a while ago lmaooo so sorry bout that but i hope you like it hahahahahaoops and they’re not really horizontal but it’s still hot lmaoo
Over
rhea x fem reader
content: angst-ish with sad rhea, smutttttt, oral sexxxx, fingeringggg, hot buff goth woman kissing youuu ooooooo
It’s been two months since you and Rhea have broken up. The first month was hard on you but the second month you wanted to get your mind off of it so you decided to download all the dating apps you could think of. You’ve been on a few first dates and a few second dates but none have lived up to your expectations.
It has been really hard on the wrestler though. She claimed that she did it because she was getting so busy that she felt it wasn’t fair to you that she wasn’t able to be around as much as she wanted. So she decided to end things, unfortunately for her, she didn’t realize how much she relied on you to get away from all the buzz.
You haven’t spoken or texted Rhea for three weeks and it was hurting you, but she was the one to end things so why should I try? you thought. You and her had mutual friends that you would hang out with sometimes and they would try to tell you updates on her but you didn’t want to hear them.
“She really misses you,” they would say.
“Then she shouldn’t have left me,” said the anger stage of grief.
Part of you knew that the friends were telling her that you were going on dates and how you were doing but you didn’t care. You wanted to seem like the ‘bigger person’ and make it seem like you moved on.
One night, you had been chatting with a girl on one of the many dating apps and things were going suspiciously well so you set up a date for the next day, just to see. It was at a local coffee shop because you wanted it to be in public in case something went wrong.
You wore a long maroon, but sort of tight dress that showed off your curves just right, some light makeup, and your hair natural; you didn’t want to try too hard. The time came and you headed to the shop, ordered coffee and sat down at a small table in the corner.
People came and went and you were there for about twenty minutes, checking your phone and scrolling through social media. Because you were waiting for quite a while, you didn’t want to come off as someone who got stood up, so you decided to text her.
“You still coming?”
“Sorry, something came up, maybe another day?”
Of course. This wasn’t the first time this happened and it sure wouldn’t be the last.
“All good,” was the only thing you said. You didn’t like putting effort into something that wasn’t going to go anywhere. If they wasted your time, then they don’t care about you, your friend would say, but something seemed off.
You brushed it off, drank your coffee and enjoyed your time alone, it was nice. You rarely went out by yourself, so it was good for a change.
You finally finished your latte, so you head back home. To your surprise, there was a familiar black truck in your driveway.
“No fucking way,” you growl as you park the car. You sit for a few minutes contemplating going somewhere else in town, maybe a movie or something long enough to where she would leave on her own, but you decided against it. “If she wants to talk then let’s talk.”
You slammed the car door and stomped inside to her helping herself to a glass of water.
“Sorry to show up out of the blue,” the australian admitted.
“No you’re not,” you threw your keys down on the counter.
“Excuse me?”
“Obviously you have something to say that you couldn’t call or text about so…” you crossed your arms keeping your distance.
She was silent but you could tell she was trying not to go off.
“So?” you push.
“You’ve been going on dates,” she finally said.
“Yeah and? Why does it matter? You broke up with me,” the lump in your throat began to form, you were never good with confrontation but you swallowed it down.
“It’s only been two months!” she barked as she threw her hands up.
“People grieve differently!”
“You’re not grieving, you’re trying to get back at me.”
“I’m not. I’m trying to move on,” you glare.
“Moving on means seeing other people after two months?” She walked to the kitchen table and leaned on the back of one of the chairs, gripping it tightly.
“Yes, it does because I’m tired of throwing myself a pity party every night.”
“As if I haven’t done that?” she gestured to herself.
“You broke up with me,” you reiterate.
“Doesn’t mean I can’t miss you!” She walked to the bar area of the kitchen counter.
You let the words hang in the air, you genuinely didn’t have a response to that.
“It’s like you didn’t even care to reach out,” she sighed under her breath.
“The phone works both ways,” you rebutted.
“Doesn’t mean I didn’t want to talk to you.”
“I didn’t think you wanted to!”
“Of course I did! I wanted to remain friends,” her cheeks were flush.
You try to calm your breathing and think hard about what you’re going to say because you didn’t want to get her feelings anymore than you did, apparently. “It’s hard to remain friends with someone you had fallen in love with and been with for a year.”
“As if I don’t know that?!” She crossed her arm and held her forehead with the other, “I had hope that we could work our way back.”
“Well…”
She took a long deep breath, before looking back up at you, “so you don’t want to try?”
“Literally when did I say that?”
“You didn’t have to say anything! I can tell with the way this is going that you don’t want to,” she was trying to calm herself down but you could tell she was struggling.
“No, no, no, back to the main question, why do you care that I’ve been seeing other people? We broke up!” you uncrossed your arms and got yourself some water too, your hands needed to do something.
“Because!” she huffed, “Because I still care for you and I don’t want you to get hurt,” she sighed once more, “and I miss you.”
You stop in your tracks and set the glass down gently before your impulse took over to throw it. You glare at her, “then why did you leave?”
“Because it wasn’t fair to you! We barely saw each other and when we did we would fight! I loved you too much to do that to you,” tears began to form in her eyes but she didn’t dare let them fall.
“I was perfectly fine letting you do what you love and was willing to work it out, you never talked to me about how you felt! You just up and left!” you threw back.
“Are you serious?! I had a flight that morning I had to leave, it was nothing to do with you.”
“You could’ve waited,” you growled.
“And make you feel more miserable?”
“I wasn’t!! That’s what I’m saying! I loved you, hell I still do, but that was bad the way you did it and you know it,” you pointed at her, hoping that she didn’t catch that one part.
“You what?”
Damn it, “you heard me.”
She sat at the bar and hung her head in her hands, sniffling.
“Rhea…” you start, and the lump in your throat was getting bigger, “I was distracting myself so that I could stop thinking about you. You consume my life, I think about you all the time,” a tear fell and you wiped it away before she could see. “I couldn’t do anything that first month, I was miserable, I had to do something.”
She lifted her head, her face was red and covered in tears. “I never stopped loving you,” she admitted.
“That makes two of us,” you said under your breath. “Why didn’t you say anything?”
“Because I didn’t want to hurt you again,” she wiped her nose with a paper towel.
You couldn’t think of anything to say. You sat there staring at her, thinking of everything you’ve ever done together and where it went wrong, but it never came up. “What do you want me to say?” you sigh.
“I don’t know,” she caught your eyes. Those icy blue perfect eyes staring back into you.
“Then what do you want from me?”
She sat for a minute racking her brain, trying to think of an answer that was different from what she wanted to say, but what’s the use, she thought and decided to shoot her shot anyway, “Another chance?”
You contemplate for a few short seconds, “You have to promise me-”
“I’ll do anything please, baby,” she didn’t mean to call you that, but you let it slide.
“You have to promise me that you’ll keep me informed on your schedule no matter what. We will make it work. Take me with you, I’ll pay for the extra bed, I’ll pay for the tickets, just…” you take a deep breath, “don’t give up again.” You didn’t think you would fold so quickly, but here you were.
“I promise, I’ll send it right now, the whole month. And when the next one comes I’ll send you that too,” as she took out her phone and sent it, “we can download a shared calendar app.”
“Thank you,” you took a sip of your water and set it back down. “Now are you going to admit that you were supposed to meet me at the coffee shop or what?”
“I had to get to you somehow,” she smiled nervously.
“You didn’t think that Leah Shipley wouldn’t raise an eyebrow?”
“Hey, what can you do?” she shrugged.
The two of you sat in silence for a good minute smiling at the thought of her trying to trick you.
“So are you going to kiss me or what?” you said a little too confidentally.
She basically ran around the counter and slammed her mouth against yours, holding your jaw. Your hands grabbed her waist and pulled her in tightly.
“God, I missed you,” she breathed.
“Shut up,” as you kiss her again.
She carefully walked you backwards towards the counter as your lips danced against hers. Your hands found themselves roaming her body naturally, like it was never gone.
She picked you up onto the counter, carefully moving things away. Her hips shoved their way in between your thighs pushing your dress up as she went, as you wrapped your legs around her, pulling her in as close as possible.
A hand found its way into your hair and yanked it to the side letting a whimper spill out of you. She kissed down your neck, biting delicately sending shockwaves down to your core. She kissed her way down your chest until she couldn’t find anymore bare skin. Suddenly, her arms pulled you forward to where you almost fell off the counter, yanking your dress farther up. She planted soft kisses on your inner thighs which made you crazy.
“Can I-” she whispered before you cut her off.
“Do it. I don’t care just fuck me, please baby,” you had missed her touch so badly. No one had ever made you feel the way she did, it was insane. She knew how to work you out just right.
With a devilish smirk she bit harder on your thighs spreading them as far as they would go. Your hand tangled itself in her hair as you used the other one to lean back. She grabbed at the waistband of your underwear and slid them off of you. A shiver hit your body as the cool air hit your hot center.
Her eyes widened at the sight of you basically dripping onto the counter, “Damn, baby, you missed me that much?”
“Shut up,” you said once more and shoved her head into you.
She immediately began lapping at your juices. You moan loudly with your head slamming on the cabinets behind you. A small “fuck,” fell from your lips followed by another moan. Her hand grazed up your thigh, lightly scratching its way up. It reached around to the small of your back and pushed you more forward into her. Riding her face, your hand gripped hair tighter. The hand sneaked its way back around and prodded at your entrance.
“Please, yes,” you whine.
And so she did, gently plunging her two fingers into you. “God,” you groan as your eyes rolled back.
She kissed the inside of your thighs before returning to your neck and kissing her way up to your lips. You grab her face, kissing her intensely, as she’s now pounding into you. Her other hand returns to your now swollen clit and adds to the knot growing inside of you.
“You missed me, baby?” she coos.
“So… fucking… bad,” you breathe.
“Then show me,” she growled.
Only a few seconds pass and you released all over her hand with a loud moan, squeezing your legs closed but was stopped by her hips blocking your way. Your back arching into the woman in front of you, “ffffffucccckk,” you whine as she kisses your neck. Your nails are digging into her shoulder blades as she continues to pump in and out of you letting you enjoy the high.
As you came down, catching your breath, you release your grip on her shoulders. Your head lolled forward leaning onto the wrestlers forehead for a few breaths before leaning back onto the cabinet. She gently pulled her fingers out of you and brought them to her mouth, cleaning them off.
“I forgot how good you taste, princess,” her accent was so thick you almost came undone again.
“It’s been too long,” you sigh.
“I guess we have some catching up to do, then huh?” she smirked. She picked you up with a giggle coming from both of you and began to carry you to your bedroom.

just my unstructured thoughts on “complicated and sad”
I’m not huge on radiostatic and haven’t thought about the dynamic as much as other people so probably I’ll be retreading common ground
radiostatic friendship had to have broken up for smth more ideological, it would honestly be a bit boring/disappointing if it was just over the unrequited romance aspect (but it was likely a contributing factor)
the fact that vox asked alastor to join his team gives a few clues
I think atp vox still thought positively of alastor while alastor’s opinion of vox was starting to deteriorate. Vox respected alastor enough to *ask* him to join, rather than manipulate or try to force him
if that’s the case, then whatever vox did that alastor hated likely wasn’t malicious (but knowing vox, it was still a bad/harmful thing)
it seems like the kind of situation where alastor showed discomfort and vox refused to change and didn’t understand what he was so mad about
what could vox have done that alastor disliked so much that it ruined a previously good friendship?
using people? Alastor does that
owning souls? Alastor does that
killing people? Alastor does that
associating with and enabling ppl like val? Maybe? It seems like an arbitrary line to draw, altho one of the comics shows alastor killing an attempted rapist
influencing people’s perception of them through media? Alastor does that, but maybe it was the difference of method that he didn’t like (hypnosis vs charisma)
being fake? Alastor does that but is better at it than vox (smiling to hide weakness)
being weak*? (*not just physically) Now we’re talking. Alastor hates weakness, both in other people and himself. He hates when people let their composure slip and tries to exploit any weakness he sees. Maybe it disgusted him to see someone he thought was strong actually prove to be weak, insecure, and pathetic
a combination of the last three seems the most plausible to me (especially considering what things alastor disses vox for in stayed gone), but I’m still struggling to come up with something that has the right amount of “oomph” to it
I’m curious what alastor initially liked about vox in the first place?
did he only like him bc he thought vox was stronger than he actually was?
has vox just changed so much over the years that the vox alastor formed a friendship with was basically a different person? That would make me curious about what sparked that change in vox—was it a particular incident or gradual corruption?
does alastor hate modernity because of vox or does he hate vox because of his modernity?
leaning twds the former, the way alastor speaks abt tech has a personal tinge to it
most of vox’s hostility twds alastor is prob due to what alastor did as rejection
supported by vox not having much variety of his insults in stayed gone
yes he’s pathetic and might be salty that he doesn’t return his feelings, but I feel like that’s not the whole explanation
does “I thought he was gone *for good* too” imply that alastor has previously disappeared or been shooed away by the vees and came back soon after?
“he owes us a lot more than money” + “things have changed a lot since he left town… …I gotta send a message of who’s really in charge of things now” = before he disappeared, alastor was previously in control, possibly by sabotaging the vees and overthrowing them?
I didn’t rlly mention “still pissed he almost beat you that time?” bc that had to have been after the fallout, so not as much to dig into there (this isn’t to say that I don’t desperately want a flashback of it lol)
hmmmmmmmnfgh… so many questions
I really hope their backstory has already been mostly planned out, bc it seems like something that would go poorly if you just made it up on the fly

So this is love?
I do not own the characters or art
Content: Yandere!Knight!Sebek Zigvolt x Princess!Yuu/F!Reader, mentions of Prince!Silver x Princess!Yuu/F!Reader
TW: Yandere themes of course and slight mentions of death
note: I wrote this for a class project so I was limited lol. I wish I had more time and could have put more gore in it, sad day. BTW it's in Sebek's POV
word count: 1429
Here I am, Sebek Zigvolt, a knight of the Bair Valley kingdom and lover to Princess Yuu, walking to her sleeping quarters. Oh, I just can’t wait to see her beautiful face! I clutch the flowers in my hand and smooth my green hair back before opening her door. “Yuu!~ I brought you a surprise!~” I pause as I look upon the empty room. I step inside inspecting the room, it seems like someone left in a hurry or was taken in a hurry with objects out of place and thrown on the ground. “No, no, no, no, she can’t be gone! Where is Yuu!?” My booming voice bounces off the walk as I rush through all the places she could be. I search the halls of the palace in a panic. My heart beats against my ribcage rapidly as I am unable to find my beloved Yuu.
I stop in my tracks when I overhear other knights talking of how Prince Silver of the Moonlight Kingdom had taken the princess on a trip. “Prince Silver sure is handsome, I bet the princess will pick him as her husband.” The knight speaks in such a casual tone, of course he doesn’t know how horrible Prince Silver is! He would never be a fit man to marry Princess Yuu! “I heard the reason the prince is named that is because of his silver hair-” I drown out the conversation as their talk continues of that horrible Prince Silver. It seems like I’ll have to take a trip to Moonlight kingdom myself.
At night I planned to sneak out and take my horse out of town. I saddle up Romeo and get on. I named my horse Romeo since Yuu’s personal horse was named Juliet, silly to name the horses after characters in a love story I know. I didn’t pack much since the Moonlight kingdom is only in a day of travel. I tug the reins and Romeo begins to move. “Don’t worry love, I'll be there soon.” I whisper to myself so the other knights wouldn’t hear me leaving.
It takes time but I finally arrive at one of the towns in Moonlight Kingdom. I pay for a room at an inn and put Romeo in the stables. This town didn’t seem that bad at night, of course there were those few drunken fools running around like any town would have at the dead of night. Though I didn’t see any shady folk I kept my hand on my sword just in case. For now I’ll rest in my bed and wait till morning to investigate where Yuu could be. “She can’t be far, she just left today….” I think out loud as I slowly drift into a slumber.
I wake up to birds singing at my window, groaning as I get up. “I hate those annoying chirps!” I grab my small dagger from my bag and slam the window open in an attempt to rid the small bird from the area. The small green feathers of the bird are stained with its red blood, the small screeches fill my ears. I flick the bird off my blade, the bird falling to the ground twitching. I wipe my dagger with my handkerchief. “What a shame, such a pretty green. Yuu would have loved it.” I throw on my tunic. I wouldn’t want to draw attention to myself with my armor, it clearly had the symbol of the Bair Valley kingdom.
Walking outside I look around at the people walking around. They all seemed quite cheery and excited. The streets were decorated and filled with singing and dancing people. Carts filled with food and crafted goods. I grab a man’s arm to stop him and ask him what’s going on. “You sir! What’s this festival for?” The man looks at me confused. “Don’t you know? It’s a festival for the prince and his soon to be wife!” I release the man’s arm in shock. The prince was forcing Yuu to marry him already! I have to move quickly! Before the man could say anything else I dash away.
I make my way to the grand castle, many guards roaming the area. I examine the tall wall blocking entry. The bricks didn’t seem too difficult to climb. Putting my foot in one of the cracks I begin to climb the stone wall. Putting my hand on the top of the wall I hoist myself up over the wall. I look into the small garden beyond the wall. My feet hit the soft grass with a thump. Perhaps I should pick some flowers for my darling? I lean down and pluck a few lilies. “These will be a perfect surprise for Yuu” I mumble to myself as I sneak towards one of the windows to the castle. Peering into the window I don’t spot any servants or guards walking the halls. I push the window up and carefully climb inside.
I creep up stairs and through hallways until I hear a familiar voice singing a small tune. “I’m coming, my love!” I whisper out to myself. I push the wooden door open silently so as not to be detected. There I finally see my Darling Yuu! I watch as she brushes her soft, long, black hair, gods I bet it smells delicious. I step forward. “Dear, is that you?” I hug her waist from behind. “Oh yes it is!” I squeak out happily, I’ve waited so long to hold her in my arms. I feel her freeze in my arms and I drop the lilies in concern. “Is everything okay, Darling?” I feel her push me away and my heart sinks.
“GET AWAY FROM ME YOU CREEP!” She looks so angry but scared, what happened to make her feel this way? “What do you mean darling? I came to save you!” I step forward but stop when I feel a stinging sensation on my cheek. I reach up and cradle the cheek. She had slapped me! Why would she slap me, her knight in shining armor! “Silver! Guards! Help! He followed us her-” Before she could continue screaming her head off I cover her mouth. “Stop yelling! They’re not here to save you, I am! Why can’t you understand I came here for you! I love you!” I tried but couldn’t hold back the tears from falling from my green eyes. Yuu started to fight against my grip. “This isn’t how it was supposed to go! I was meant to save you and you were meant to fall for me! Why can’t you get that! Just love me!” I feel my heart sink even more when Yuu’s bedroom door swings open revealing the man I despised.
I let go of Yuu and push her on the bed so she wouldn’t get hurt. “Get away from her, she obviously doesn't want you here.” Silver glares at me. “No! She loves me and I love her!” I draw my dagger from my pocket. “I do not want to fight you, old friend. We can still get you the help you need…just further away.” I clench my fist at the idea Silver proposes. “I can’t leave her! I won’t go anywhere!” I swing my dagger at Silver but he dodges. He grabs my hand trying to disarm me but I use the opportunity to knock him into the floor.
Though the dagger is knocked out of my hands I use them to choke him. “I can’t let you have her! I can’t, I can't, I can't!” My eyes widen as I feel a sharp pain in my chest. I look down to see blood dripping down my tunic, I look behind me to see Yuu holding my newly bloodied dagger. “D-darling, why?” My lips quiver as I let go of Silver and fall to the ground. “You were hurting him! I just-” My body starts to feel cold, everything seems to quiet now. I grab out to Yuu and smear my blood on her white dress as she falls to her knees. This isn’t such a bad ending for me, is it? I have my darling by my side as my life leaves my body. This is all I could have asked for when it came to my death. My vision starts to fade out. This is it for me, I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you Darling. “Goodbye, Darling….” My body goes limp as my vision goes black. I can’t hear anything anymore, my body no longer has warmth. So is this love?

Hi i was wondering if you could do a law x timid fem reader that has a devil fruit that can rewind and stop time but when she uses it to much she gets burns on her hands thats last about a day but hurts a lot when not treated, i was thinking of a scenario were she gets the burns but doesn’t go to law because she sees that he’s treating other crew members and she doesn’t want to bother him but he notices and confronts her while she tries to hide it from him but he finds out and is upset that she didn’t come to him sooner, then shes tells him why and comforts her about it (could you also make it to where they are together already)
I know it a lot so please tell me if its too much thx 💕
Hi. Of course I can do it! I love Law so much. I mean come on, I’m Trafalgar D Nami after all lol! But anyways, I’m happy I got a Law request, it was super enjoyable to write. I hope you like it! Enjoy my friend!
Always Have Time for You
Everyone wishes they could turn back and fix things. Time was a valuable thing. You more than anyone knew that. But with changing time came with repercussions. You also knew that more than anyone. When you were young, you ate a devil fruit, the jikan jikan no mi (the time time fruit). It allows the user to rewind time and also stop it. The only bad things: you couldn’t swim and you got burns on your hands after using it. And did they hurt a lot. But the good thing, you had a doctor for a lover, Trafalgar Law. He took care of you, while you took care of him. You hated it though. You hated that he had to take care of you. But you didn’t have many people other than the crew to talk to because of your shyness.
While docked, a small fight broke out between the Heart Pirates and another group of Pirates, nothing deadly, but there were a good number of cuts, broken bones, and bruises on both sides. So when Law came back from picking up some medical supplies, he started taking care of everyone’s injuries back on the Polar Tang. You had frozen time at one point so Shachi wouldn’t get stabbed by one of the enemies. Law was taking care of him first obviously. You looked down at your hands. They were covered in burns, too painful to even touch. You didn’t want to bother him when everyone else was in worse shape, so when he came over and asked you if you were okay, you hid your hands in your long sleeves and told him you were okay.
A few days later, you arrived on a new island. You decided to try to muster up the courage and talk to the doctor on the island because the pain was so unbearable. “I’m going to go look at some new earrings, mine are getting a little worn out,” you told everyone, “I’ll see you guys later for dinner.” They all nodded. But Law didn’t buy it. You usually never left without someone to do most of the talking. He decided to follow you. You walked through the small town, passing jewelry booths, bars, etc. You finally saw the sign Dr. Sanders’. You went to walk in but got nervous. You didn’t feel comfortable. With Law and the crew, you knew they cared about you and looked out for you. But you didn’t know how this man would react. You turned around. When you did, you crashed into a muscular chest. “Care to explain Y/N?” a familiar voice said. You looked up into his steel eyes. It was Law. You looked down at your shoes. “Nothing,” you answered.
“No, it’s not. You can tell me. We’ve been together for years. Come on, let's get back to sub.”
He grabbed your hand, but you quickly pulled away. Just him touching your hands made a sharp pain shoot through your hand. He looked down at you, seeing the pain in your e/c eyes. The two of you then walked back to the Polar Tang in silence.
When you two arrived, you sat in the medical room. He rolled up your sleeves that had been hiding your hands for days. “I thought so,” he mumbled to himself. You kept staring at the floor, refusing to look at him. Eventually, tears started to flow from your eyes. He stooped down to your level looking at you with nothing but concern. “Hey, hey,” he said, “I’m not mad. I’m just concerned.” He started wiping your tears away with his tattooed thumbs. He pushed a few strands of hair behind your right ear. “Why didn’t you tell me about this? Why did you wait so long?”
You finally looked into his eyes, “because everyone else needed help and I didn’t want to be a bother.”
“You’re my girlfriend, you’re not a bother and I’m not mad. It’s okay. I’ll treat it whenever you need it because I love you. I always have time for you.” He hugged you as you cried into his crest.
“I love you too,” you cried into his chest.
You wished you could freeze time without the burns, so you could stay in this moment together for as long as possible.
Please do not copy, modify, translate, or repost my writing on other platforms. Comments, reblogs or likes are highly appreciated!

I THINK THERE'S BEEN A GLITCH
CHAPTER TWO - MY PART OF TOWN ON A WEEKEND
↢ chapter one | series masterlist | chapter three ↣
🎧 soundtrack
steve harrington x fem!baker + artist
word count: [15.7K]
warnings: no use of y/n, breaking and entering (not in a bad way lol), talks mentions of self deprecation, steve opening up about his parents, cursing, mutual pining.
summary: Roane County soon becomes a place that Steve finds himself attracted to, especially for that one special person. Meanwhile you find it hard to believe that Steve and your new friends actually make the effort to show up for you in more ways than one--even if tonight it's just you and Steve. There's a newness yet comfort between the both of you that has been brewing since your first meeting, it's just a matter of when and where things will start to pick up...in his car, in your living room, or in your wildest dreams?
Steve didn’t know when he started becoming so prompt when it came to time, possibly when he picked up the duty of dropping off and picking up the kids from school. But nonetheless, he hated running late, and he also hated the fact that other people would be waiting on him. Today was no different, and he wasn’t planning on breaking a promise to a very special person whom he said he’d show up for.
He had specifically told Robin to be ready on time and to even call Eddie to remind him of today’s plans, seeing as though he was so forgetful, but obviously it just always had to be them and his horrible time managing friends.
Steve couldn’t wait, impatiently tapping his foot on the Wheeler’s driveway waiting for the rest of the kids to show up so they could get going, but of course if one was taking too long to get ready, the other wasn’t ready at all. Nancy and Jonathan had told him to get going first—that they would all meet up there eventually when everyone was ready.
And that should’ve worked out, except for the fact that Steve was the only person out of the group to make it past the “Welcome to Roane County” sign before city troopers closed the roads due to a bumper to bumper accident. The bouquet of flowers sitting in his passenger seat and the white top you had left behind in his bedroom in the backseat hoping to find its way back to you tonight.
With his foot on the pedal, he pressed down harder, watching each minute go by on his dash clock, hoping he’d be able to catch you in time before it was too late.
You sat on the wooden crate, elbows resting on your knees as you looked both ways watching bystanders walking through the halls of the almost empty gallery. It was a slow day, not too many people showed up, probably because it was a Sunday night and most times people had better things to do than walk around and observe art but part of you wished at least some would care.
To top it all off, you’d only gotten three sales out of the thirteen paintings you had brought to the event—not like they weren’t any good, but they were meaningful in your eyes and you wished others would see it too.
You had spent the last few days thinking about something other than Steve, knowing good and well that you were an adult and there was surely more to life than a guy. Bills had to be paid and the last thing you should be doing was kicking your feet and blushing like a high schooler with a crush on the pretty boy.
Plus, you realized that it didn’t do you any good thinking so hard about him and what he felt for you because it could be all in your head.
You needed to realize that banking and hoping he would feel the same just wasn’t worth your time or energy. If you kept digging yourself into this hole of feelings for him and those feelings not be reciprocated, you’d just bury yourself there in a pit of embarrassment.
You had learned long ago that holding out hope for something you weren’t positively confident about would only hurt you, and you were sure this was just something you were going to sweat out and laugh about later.
Both you and Steve were adults, and if there was a chance for more, then you’d just have to wait it out until you were sure.
The only thing keeping you going tonight was heading home and spending the rest of the night thinking about the next week and how much work you needed to get done. So much to be done, but so little energy and inspiration you had left to get it finished.
People always had this idea that your mind was constantly running with ideas too fast for your paintbrush or pen to catch, which in some instances could be the case, but for you it wasn’t as easy. You’d hit a drought in muse, barely having the spirit to get up and actually create something that was your own.
It was taking everything in you not to give up and call it quits because you worked too hard to get here. You had spent too many years proving and fighting towards a goal of following the dream that you envisioned for yourself. It was the voices of people telling you that your passion was “childish” or “just a hobby” that put a fire under your ass to get out of this artist block. That giving up this easily meant giving them the last laugh and you sure as hell weren’t going to do that.
“I’m not too late, am I?”
The pair of shoes coming into your line of sight followed by the voice you could never mistake broke through the barriers of your thoughts. You looked up and there he was, trying to catch his breath from the quick jog from the parking lot to the inside, not wanting to miss you before you packed up and left.
A wave of relief filled your anxiety ridden senses finally seeing someone that you recognized for the first time tonight.
“Steve.” You beamed up at him through your sad eyes, instantly standing up and wrapping him in a tight embrace.
“Hey.” He grinned against your head, pulling away somewhat to see your face, the sadness clearly fading with each second you two spent in each other’s arms.
“You’re not too late.” You exhaled before hugging him again and finally letting him go.
“And these are for you.”
He grinned handing over the small bunch of roses that you hadn’t noticed when he first walked in just relieved to see him here.
Your hands wrapped around the brown paper, shielding your palms from any stray thorns as you held them close to your chest and inhaling the clove scent that radiated off of the blossoms.
“Thanks!”
He nodded, stuffing his hands in his pockets while you fidgeted with your hands. The two of you holding eye contact filled with happiness yet nervousness behind themboth of you trying not to let it show though.
Steve smiled broadly, seeing the artwork behind you, “I’m glad I made it on time, I wouldn’t wanna miss it. I was just stuck in traffic for a little. That’s why it took me a while to get here.”
A part of you felt terrible for the hassle he must have gone through, considering the fact that Roane was already an hour away from Hawkins. Adding traffic meant it must have taken longer than usual. If you had known, you would’ve told him it was alright for him not to make it today.
But the other part of you felt smitten that he had sat through that hour of traffic just to be here. It showed that he was committed and didn’t like breaking promises, even if it was as little as something like this.
God, you were totally forgetting that inner monologue you had about Steve and relationships doing you no good.
You reached out a hand, skimming his arm appreciatively as you grinned so widely it took up most of your face.
“You really didn’t have to, Steve.”
But your reaction told Steve that you felt otherwise from your words. More than elated with the fact that he had made the effort to show, and he was glad that he delivered. He wiggled, swinging his head, as your hand fell from his skin, wishing it would stay there longer so he could never forget it.
“I wanted to, and so did the others, but they were a little behind. You know, Will was really looking forward to coming tonight.” He mentioned wistfully.
Steve just now reminding you of the others who were not here beside him. It had totally slipped your mind that the rest of your friends weren’t here and greeting you tonight at the gallery.
But was it really wrong to admit that you also had totally forgotten that you had invited them in the first place?
It wasn’t like you didn’t care if they showed up or not, but you always learned to never set your expectations so high when it came to people showing up for you. Therefore, you always tried to not take it personally when others didn’t follow through with their words or commitments.
Back when you were still dating your ex, you used to invite him and your then friends to your galleries, expecting they’d just pop in to show some support, but they never did. So you just learned to suck it up and accept the fact that even if someone you loved said that they would show, there was always a possibility that they weren’t.
Yet here you were, with Steve being the one to show up, and now actually hearing how the others made an effort to want to show up tonight, too. It made you feel soft inside, like a plate of mush which would reduce to nothing because the tenderness was too much for you to handle and fathom for yourself.
“Oh…” You murmured under your breath, letting those words and his actions sink in for a second.
Steve caught it, the way you glassed over once he told you that information not knowing what you were feeling deep down.
“Buuuuttt I’m here so I hope it’s still ok.”
You snapped out of the glassed over expression the second you heard his voice coming to you again. It wasn’t just a dream of someone actually showing up for you…Steve was really here, and if it wasn’t for the damn traffic accident, the others would be here too. Friends who actually showed up for you for once.
“More than ok.” You grinned, nodding more to yourself than to him.
He smiled once you came back too, your free hand reaching out to grab his arm and lead you to the canvas that you propped up against the walls. Your fingertips only fell off his skin as you took the time to rearrange the canvas so that he could see them all clearly without them overlapping one another.
Every piece was different, yet the same, a collage of colors and techniques that worked together to make such a sight for the eyes. And for the first time in Steve Harrington’s life, he came to appreciate art and almost felt like he could see every brush stroke that you had put into them.
His own fingertips strung free from his pockets, reaching out to feel the paint over his skin. There was a texture in this specific painting, the one of a bright blue sky with pastel clouds, something out of a lover-like fantasy world.
“Wow… so this is all you, right?”
You nervously squeezed your hand tightly around the stems, nodding your head “Yeah, and they’re not my best work but—“
At the admission of hearing you tear yourself down so quickly, he jumped in headfirst and didn’t let you finish that sentence. Instead, he looked at you like you were totally mad — furry brows bunched together as he pshed and gestured back to Lover painting he was now going to coin it.
“No, these are amazing… I mean like seriously, the details are so realistic.”
You laughed lightly, whispering a soft “thank you.”
You watched him, the way he didn’t skip a beat, grabbing the next painting beside the pastel sunset. There was a visible contrast between the two canvases. Unlike the previous one that was filled with bright colors, this was gray and black. A forest somewhere that you had made up in your imagination, with tall trees and an ominous fog that you could only dream about what was on the other side of it.
“How much?” Steve asked you, turning his head to look your way where you raised your brows confused.
“What?” Your eyes squinted, trying to understand if he meant how much time you took to paint it.
“For a painting. This one looks really cool and I think it would look nice on my wall. The car poster is getting a little lonely up there all by itself.”
He chuckled, looking back at the painting and holding it far out towards the wall to try to picture it in his room.
You couldn’t take him seriously. There was no way he was asking you how much a painting was. None of your friends ever bought a piece of your artwork, and never even voiced want to own something that you had taken the time to make. Which is why you never really had a lot of friends anymore, but let alone believe what you heard coming from Steve’s mouth.
“W-what?”
He looked at you, raising his brows then going to pick up another, “No? Then what about this one? I think it would be a nice contrast because the colors of my walls are actually—”
You stopped him, clutching onto his wrist because you couldn’t take it anymore. He didn’t have to pity you and purchase something just to be kind. You didn’t want him to go out of his way for that.
“Steve, you really don’t have to buy one.” Your voice was full of trepidation and uncertainty, something he didn’t understand.
He placed the piece down prompting you to let go of his wrist as you shuffled back awkwardly, not meeting his eyes and instead boring holes into the pieces you had made, judging every detail and how Steve couldn’t possibly own one of them, let alone hang it on his wall.
“Why not?” He sought gently, his fingertips grazing your hands that you tugged on, halting you for a moment as you finally looked up to meet his eyes.
You swallowed, wiggling your shoulders as you struggled to find the words.
“B-because, I don’t know…they’re really not my best work and it’s embarrassing—“
Again, he shook his head with a look of reassurance accompanied with a deep frown that was unhappy about the way you were talking about yourself and the things you created.
“Hey, nonono, they’re all so beautiful. I’m serious. And I seriously want to buy one, so please?”
You took a deep breath, tightly pursing your lips and nodding, “Fine, ummm, just pick any you want… let’s say, $20!”
He finally let up, reaching into his back pocket and pulling out more than a $20 bill and placing it in the palm of your hand, “You’re selling yourself too short.”
The contact of your hands touching already made your heart race a little faster, but it was the squeeze that he gave you that made your knees weak, along with the signature toothy smile that was a burning image in your head.
His hand retraced a few seconds later allowing you to stuff the cash into your back pocket, “No one buys art from an amateur over $20.”
“Then they don’t deserve your art because this is worth way over $20.”
“Thanks, Steve.”
There was a few seconds of silence, watching Steve examine the piece he had picked out and you trying to see what wheels were spinning in his head. Probably him thinking about which wall to hang it on or worse, where the nearest garbage can was so he could dump it out and forget about it.
You pinched your eyes shut for a minute, silently cursing yourself out of these stupid self-deprecating thoughts that always seemed to come out for no goddamn reason at all, even after the nice things Steve had said.
“I should pack up, everyone is leaving.” You cradled the bunches of flowers in your arm getting ready to clean up and get going, but of course, Steve beat you to it.
Flipping over the wooden crate you were once sitting on, he tucked his purchased canvas under his arm while he carefully began to grab the other canvas, standing them upright in the wooden box.
He always did this, and you weren’t sure if it was just when it came to you, or maybe it was a thing he did with the rest of his friends. But he was always willing to help—at least when it came to you. Always springing into action before you could even ask for help and even if you didn’t, he wanted to.
“Will these fit in your trunk, or should I put them in the backseat?” He asked, beginning to walk towards the exit doors, ignoring your protests to try to carry the crate yourself.
You eventually gave up, a small snicker coming from him that you picked up on as you caught up with him.
“Umm neither? I took the bus today.”
He held the door open for you with his foot, listening while you walked out into the brisk night air.
“I could give you a ride back home?” He suggested, looking at you, trying to decide.
“Are you sure?” You bit your lip, looking up at him where he nodded and fished his keys out of his pocket, dangling it in the air.
You smiled softly, finishing into your own pocket, fingers spreading the cash he had given you just a few moments earlier, “I’ll take it if you let me pay for dinner?”
He shook his head with a chuckle before devotedly nodding his head.
“We have a deal.”
The maroon BMW was easy to spot in the parking lot. Steve clicked the unlock button as the car offered one, two beeps before he popped the trunk open and carefully placed your things in there. You were already making your way to the passenger seat as he shut it, ready to pull the door open, but his hand reached forward first.
Your eyes jerked to his, where he hovered closely behind you before pulling it open, “let me.”
Was Steve always this gentleman-like? Did he always open the door for his passengers? Maybe for Robin, but you weren’t quite sure about the others. Though you didn’t have much time to ponder his chivalrous, the door slightly closed after you had gotten in and the driver’s door opened as he jogged over.
“Where are we headed?” He tugged on his seatbelt, clicking it in as his eyes remained on yours.
“Do you like breakfast for dinner?” You asked, fingers brushing over the floral petals sitting in your lap before you flickered your eyes up at him.
“Show me the way.” He grinned, putting the car in drive and letting you give him directions to your favorite spot.
Maybe it was the fact that Steve had done a good job at preparing himself to not look and sound like an idiot when it came to you, but today he was more at ease which was surprising considering the fact that it was your first time alone without the rest of the crew actually around. All of the nervousness and built up anxiety from the last encounter seemed to have melted from both of your minds, just focusing on the now and savoring it.
When you and Steve finally arrived, you had beat him to opening your door, however he did walk a few milliseconds faster just so he could hold the front doors to the diner open while you brushed past him with a giggle.
“Hi, sweetie pie!”
The voice of your dear friend and favorite waitress, Dorothea, came barreling out the double doors of the kitchen as she caught your entrance through the tiny window sliver. Dorothea was a lot older than you, but she felt like the only friend and mother figure you had here in Roane.
You immediately wrapped your arms around her, hugging her closely with a squeeze, “Hi, Dorthy! Missed you!”
She laughed at your nickname for her, rubbing your back warmly before pulling away and turning her curious sights to Steve, “Missed you more, pumpkin. And who might this be?”
You backed away, just enough to stand beside Steve and gesture to him, “A friend of mine! He came by to stop at the gallery and I had to take him here.”
He waved at her, stepping forward with a hand lent out for her to shake, but in Dorthy’s overly-friendly manner, she wrapped him up in a hug, a tight one just like she had you in a few moments ago.
“Oh—well this is nice.” He mumbled, making you stifle a laugh as he shyly hugged her back and patted her shoulder stiffly.
Finally letting go, she took a good look at him, almost inspecting every detail of his face with her brows slightly raised, trying to intimidate him and send him running out the door. It was safe to say that Dorothea was protective of you, just like a mother would to a daughter, and to her, you were the one she never had. It meant a lot to see you walking in for the first time in a year with a boy whom she had never seen by your side. But seeing as though Steve didn’t seem to be scared or cower backwards, she laughed, giving his shoulder a firm pat.
“Your name?” She ordered plainly.
He swallowed, glancing at your not so fazed self, “Umm, Steve. Steve Harrington.”
“Nice to meet you, Steve!” She patted him on the back, before turning to you with a wink, “C’mon, your favorite seat is open.”
You screeched softly, clapping your hands to yourself quietly. Dorthy guided the both of you to a secluded booth in the back of the diner, the one with the only working jukebox machine and motioned for you to slide in and take a seat.
“Wanna take a look at the menu, hun?” Dorthy pulled out a copy of the menu from her apron, passing it to Steve who thanked her.
“Do you know what you’re getting?” He proposed, looking up at you from the menu.
You nodded with a smile, your eyes drifting up, seeing her pen drifting over the notepad just awaiting your confirmation.
“The usual,” you responded as she bowed and began jotting it down.
As she wrote, you turned your attention back to Steve, filling him in on what you ordered all the time.
“A Spanish omelet. A side of French toast smothered with strawberries, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce. And a small decaf and water.”
“A meal fit for champions.” Dorthy quips as Steve laughs, not bothering to look at the rest of the menu.
“I’ll get the same thing, but instead of strawberries can I do the blueberries?”
“Sure, hon,” she says, doubling the order and making a note from the fruit substitute.
Steve handed her back the menu as she finished up, watching the ballpoint pen point towards the wall of the booth where Strawberry Shortcake and Elvis were singing next to a road sign that read, “Music and Food Ahead!”
“You know she did the mural in here?”
Dorth wore a proud expression, watching Steve’s eyes go wide, and twisting his head around at the restaurant that was covered in your art.
You rolled your eyes lovingly, shoving away at her hands, “stop it, Dorth!”
“Holy shit…you did all this by yourself?”
Steve leaned closer to the wall, getting a good look at the meticulous detail that you put into the whole thing. His eyes shuffled between going wide and squinting to take it all in.
Dorothea didn’t give you time to respond to his question, instead speaking for you, “Yep, in 113 hours.”
“131” you corrected with a smirk as she rolled her eyes sarcastically and clicked her pen shut.
Steve let out another expletive under his breath, tearing his eyes from the wall leaning back into the seat to look at you in amazement that you hadn’t told him this sooner. If he had known you had painted and designed a mural for a diner as big as this one, he would’ve asked Jonathan if he could borrow his camera so he could take pictures of it.
“131 hours… she’s talented, you know.” She raised her brows at Steve with a hand on her hip.
He beamed, patting the walls and not letting his eyes leave yours, “Insanely.”
Dorothea was warming up to him, a giddy laugh erupting as she nudged your shoulder with her elbow.
“I like him!” She buzzed not so softly to you as you giggled and hung your head down shyly away from Steve’s gaze.
The ripping of paper came from her notepad, ready to head back over to the kitchen and get your dishes started,
“Food should be out in twenty. Try not to break the jukebox in the meantime.”
You looked back over your shoulder shouting out, “I would never!” as she waved her hand in the air mindlessly at you
Steve’s eyes were still glued to you, filled with awe at hearing just how much work you put into doing this all yourself. But you, on the other hand, were too busy scanning the songs on the marquee, wondering which one you would pick to play first.
“I still can’t believe you did all this.” Steve shook his head in disbelief, fingers tracing the outline of the road that you painted on the adjacent wall.
You grunted, wiggling your shoulders as you began to tell him more of how you got in that position in the first place.
“Dorothea and I met because she used to stop by the gallery from time to time and when she got the job here, she told the owner about my work.”
“Really?” Steve asked, watching you finally take your sights away from the jukebox and look at him.
You nodded, resting your chin on your fist, “Originally they just had the checkerboard pattern in here,” you pointed to the black-and-white tiles that were on the ground, his eyes following your finger.
“But then Dorothy reached out and asked if I was willing to come in and do a custom 50s mural.”
“But in that many hours? How’s that even possible?” He crossed his arms over his chest watching you closely.
You looked behind you suspiciously before leaning closer towards him, your mouth covering one side of your mouth as you whispered.
“A ton of coffee and a promise of free food for life….but the owner doesn’t know that.” You confessed, watching him throw his head back and cover his face as he laughed.
“You’re gonna milk them dry of coffee and pancakes one day,” He joked
You shrugged your shoulders, relaxing back into the booth and sighing, “They’ll survive just like how I survived painting this piece of crap.”
The insult towards yourself slipped without hesitation, masked with faint laughter while you looked around the too colorful restaurant where the walls were littered with everything that came from your hands.
As soon as it left your mouth, Steve’s laughter stopped watching your eyes drift over the rest of the diner, shaking your head to yourself as if you were disgusted with the masterpiece you made. He didn’t know why you were so hard on yourself, your own worst critic at times even when it came to little things that he would die to be praised upon.
But you hated it as if you hated yourself.
“Why do you always do that?” He sought, leaning on his elbows, seeing you turn to face him.
Your forehead creased up, silently asking him what he meant.
“Why do you always tear yourself down? I—I noticed that about you.”
His voice was quiet, mixed with a hint of concern, obviously. The crease in your forehead fell, and instead you looked almost bewildered, as if you didn’t know how to answer it rather than why he was questioning you in the first place.
“I don’t know, i—it’s easier for me to be critical than to be nice to myself.” You admitted, swallowing and looking down at the jukebox like the list of songs would distract you from his stare you could feel.
“Why?” Steve asked again simply, not trying to prod but just trying to understand.
You shrugged again, not meeting his eyes this time around, “It’s what I’m used to hearing — how I need to do more instead of being satisfied with what I did.”
“Then why not just think about what you did in the moment and be proud of that?”
You scoffed, not with any harsh intentions but just at the irony, because you always tried but had those other voices eating away at you. The devil living rent free in your consciousness, tearing you down at every opportunity.
“You mean what wasn’t enough?” You respond dryly, and Steve rolled his eyes, tutting at your response.
He offers you a stern look, but at the same time a gentle kind that tells you he truly means what he’s saying.
“Stop that. You’re doing it again and you know that it’s not true.”
“It kinda is…I mean, just look at me. I haven’t painted anything in days. You bought a canvas that I haven’t been able to sell in months. I’m practically the epitome of a failure right now.”
You looked just as stressed as you sounded. Hands running from your forehead to your scalp, threading your fingers through your hair and giving them a slight tug. Lips parted as you took a deep and long breath out. Eyes pinching closed accompanied with a shake of your head before they snapped open and met his apologetically.
“S—sorry, I’m rambling. I just…it’s been so hard to actually get stuff done, y’know?”
He nodded sympathetically as if he knew exactly what you were talking about, but in his head, the most stressful thing that happened with his job was getting tapes returned after the deadline and having to deal with complicated customers who didn’t want to pay the late fee.
Still, he just wanted to make you feel better.
“I mean, I get it,” He started, swallowing, trying to gather his thoughts into a clump of something that would make sense.
“…I can’t even imagine how stressful painting this entire restaurant must have been, and on top of that, I know it’s probably a lot of pressure to keep producing those pieces of art—but it’s gotta be worth a little more than money, you know?”
Steve’s words intrigued and perplexed you in the best possible way. Letting up on the tug you have on your roots, you brought your fists back down to your chin as you raised a querying brow at him. He understood, nodding as he licked his lips and peers up again, trying to muster the thoughts.
“Like—it’s like you don’t realize that people are actually so captivated by what you make. I swear, if you told Robin or Will that you painted this place, they’d go batshit crazy and run around here complimenting everything you did. So would everyone else.”
There is truth to every single word he’s saying and Steve knows that, yet you still sit across from him, wondering if that’s really true. As if there was a possibility that he’d ever lie about something so small yet incredibly important to you, because this was a habit of self-deprecation that was planted by someone who was the opposite of Steve.
The person who would nit-pick at everything you did and made you feel like the things that you enjoyed doing and were proud of shouldn’t be on a pedestal and appreciated. Instead, it was knocked off and shattered into a million tiny pieces where every single flaw was showcased.
And while the person wasn’t in your life anyone, there was a permanent mark that you couldn’t erase and the habit that you never got the chance to grow out of — being so judgemental and critical of yourself.
“I’m sorry…did—did I say something?”
You were quiet for less than a minute, but it was enough to fret Steve and regret what he had said, thinking he must have hit a little too close to home.
Why was he always like this? It happened just a few days ago when you both were separated between his bedroom door and now sitting here in front of you actually seeing you go silent felt even more anxiety inducing.
But you shook your head quickly, glazed eyes coming back to life, full of reassurance just like the words that you spoke a little too fast for your liking.
“Yeah…I mean no! I mean, yeah, you said something, but not in a bad way. In a good way, actually! I just… sorry, I’m thinking.”
Steve replied with a small tight-lipped smile, nodding his head as a way to say, take all the time you need and think away… but just be sure to think good things about yourself.
You turned your head on your hands, deliberately making a round through the diner that you painted and poured your heart and soul into. That sure, while Dorthy had to bribe you with some coffee and food because the owner didn’t meet your price, it was actually decent and if you weren’t the one who painted it, you would’ve been praising it every time you walked in here.
Even if you painted Strawberry Shortcake’s lashes a little too full that it looked like spider legs or made Elvis’ hair so tall it could be mistaken for a wave, it all came together and like Steve said it was worth more than what you were paid.
It gave you experience.
Spending days going back-and-forth sharing sketches with the owner and even his little daughter that begged and pleaded with her dad to include Strawberry Shortcake despite the 50s theme.
Multiple trips back over to your favorite art store in Hawkins to pick up the paints that you liked to work with in too many shades to count.
Long days and even longer nights with your headphones blasting the same tape on repeat when you just started outlining the whole thing.
Hunched over in awkward positions and standing on a creaky ladder to make sure you didn’t miss filling in a spot with color.
On goers on the other side of the windows peering in to admire the art inside the diner that would soon be a grand opening to them.
Signing your name teeny tiny-ly in pink right beside Strawberry Shortcake’s hat when you finally finished the whole piece.
Getting the biggest hug from the owner’s daughter once she stepped in and saw her favorite character painted included on the mural.
Getting even more compliments and praise from the staff and customers who were impressed by the sheer talent that was depicted on the wall.
Steve was right.
It was worth more than money and sure as hell was worth a lot more than your critiques when you did the very best you could with the deal you had in front of you at the time.
Why were you always so mean to yourself when all you wanted was to just be nice?
You were nice to Dorthea.
You were nice to Robin.
You were to all of your new friends.
You were especially nice to Steve.
But you weren’t nice to yourself.
You had to start making an effort to be.
Your eyes made its last round of the diner, ending with your orbs meeting Steve’s, whose didn’t seem to tear away from you during your thinking time. He watched every second, seeing the way you’d pinch your eyes tight to see something better and how he could tell there was happiness behind them when they landed on a particular part you were proud of.
The wheels were turning in your head and he hoped what he said stuck because he wanted, needed you to know his words were true. You were everything in a way that was too profound for him to ever describe.
“Whatcha thinking?” Steve pondered out loud as your eyes finally landed on his.
You smiled gingerly, shrugging your shoulders, “That I ought to be nicer to myself.”
“Yeah?” Steve grinned heartily, content with the fact that you were seeing it through the way that he was.
You nodded assuringly before your hands trailed behind you, reaching into your pocket and pulling out your wallet. He watched you, hearing the zip from a compartment being opened followed by the clank of the coin dropping onto the table.
“Annnnnnd I’m also thinking about what song I’m gonna play.”
He chuckled, shaking his head at how short and sweet you kept it when it came to what you were really thinking about just then. But to him what mattered the most was that you heard him out and something inside you lit up bright enough if you had told him that you were really going to start being nicer to yourself.
Whatever you were thinking and keeping to yourself was fine by him, just crossing his fingers that he wouldn’t need to hear you tear yourself down any longer because if he did, he was sure that he was going to tell you all the reasons why he thought you were so great.
Your fingernail traveled down the list of songs, beaming excitedly when you saw your favorite as you hastily inserted the coin and punched in the number and letter that got the tune ringing through the restaurant speakers.
Steve couldn’t help but smile as the piano crescendoed through the diner and your head thumped to the beat while your mouth moved along with the lyrics. Last summer he had taken the kids to watch Top Gun at the theaters and for a week straight they couldn’t stop singing the song. He had almost grown annoyed with it until now.
He was going to be sure to thank them for singing it so much that the lyrics were now ingrained in his brain so much so that he didn’t miss a beat mouthing along with you as you giggled through the tune, surprised he knew it so well by heart.
Though you were sitting, Steve could tell that you were letting go in some oddly cute way that he hadn’t seen you before. Your shoulders grooving to the beat and your hair tousling with each shake you gave to accompany the rhythm. You looked like you were having the time of your life here with him even if it was just at some diner in your part of town with your favorite song playing in the background.
His palms rested against the cool table top, sliding himself out of his seat and holding out his hands towards you as the music continued. Your head bops stopped for only a few seconds, eyeing the hand he held out to you before trailing to his face.
“Let’s dance?” He asked, wiggling his brows while his head thumped.
You bit your lip, looking back at the nearly empty diner knowing that it didn’t matter if this place was full or not, you were going to take his hand and dance for the next two minutes. Being nicer to yourself meant many things and not caring what others thought was one of them.
“Sure, why not,” you breathed, taking his hand as he pulled you up out of your seat and began moving the both of you to the beat of the music as you sang along.
Your hands holding onto his as you both jumped around looking like complete love sick fools in the back of the diner where the few customers way up front smiled at the sight. Laughter intertwined with the singing and hair moving in every direction with each sway and turn.
All the care in the world that you could give right now went out the window with Steve’s hand in yours. Not even in the romantic or platonic sense, but in a human way that was too complex for you to describe. Like some sort of sorcery that sucked you into an alternate dimension where you could just be free of judgment and anxiety.
At one point in your life, you used to sit across the table with someone who would tell you to stop wasting your quarters playing dumb 50s love songs while you devoured pancakes. And here you were playing those stupidly dumb love songs with someone who got up and asked you to dance not caring how many quarters you’d use for the remainder of the night.
Steve wished that he had ordered more food because maybe then it would take longer for the order to come out and cut the dancing short, but still he kept it going. Pouring out all his change into a pile near the jukebox as you two ate your dinner, taking turns picking songs while he resisted the urge to ask you to dance with him again.
If he did, however, you were sure you’d drop your fork in a snap and take his hand all over again.
A snap back to reality is what Steve took instead, instantly flooded with a hug from Dorothea as she walked you two out of the diner and wrapped her arms across his body snuggly.
“It was nice meeting you, honey bun! Get her home safely and I hope I see you around soon!”
Steve snickered, nodding against her shoulder before he pulled away and stepped aside, giving you ample room to hug her.
“Bye, Dorth, I’ll see you! Thanks again for dinner!”
You kissed her cheek lovingly before pulling away, waving one last goodbye to her before you and Steve walked towards his car.
It didn’t surprise you that instead of heading towards the driver’s side; he jogged up to the passenger door, holding it wide open for you as you trailed a bits behind him. You shook your head halfheartedly, watching a smirk splay over his face still holding the door for you.
“After you,” He said in his best English accent, making you giggle as you slid into the seat and he shut the door before you could give him your gratitude.
A few seconds later, he was already in the driver’s seat, buckling in and starting up the car, ready for the drive back to your place. You watched him check his mirrors one last time before he shifted the car to reverse, his head turning back to the rear as his hand rested behind your chair as he backed out.
“Did you need me to give you directions?” You shifted your body towards him.
He shook his head, turning back around and moving the car into drive, “I think I know the way from here, but a little tour guide would be nice.”
The radio wasn’t needed for the car ride back, instead the air was filled with gasps and pointed fingers in different directions as Steve drove and you happily gave him a brief tour of your part of town. Not that it was any different from Hawkins with the small-town feel to it, but in a lot of ways Roane just felt more cozy.
Steve picked up on that right away, feeling the sense that Roane was more like you in many ways, but especially the scenery. Even in the night, he could see the rose bushes that decorated the side roads and the endless turns into different mom-and-pops that were slowly dying out in his town.
You pointed out the small park down the road which held your town’s weekly farmers’ market that you grocery shopped at most of the time. A lot of the produce was from local farmers and gardens. You even mentioned that during the fall, Merrill Wright who owns the pumpkin patch in Hawkins, occasionally stops by and donates pumpkins for the town’s annual carving contest.
But your favorite part of town seemed to be a small cafe called Taylor’s, or that’s just what Steve was assuming by your reaction.
“And that’s my favorite coffee shop!” You blurted, pointing at the quaint store on the corner of the block you and Steve drove past.
You began to trail off, telling him about the place that you found yourself always going to, “They have this honey rose latte, and it’s like the best thing I’ve ever tasted in my life… you need to try it! And they make these things called cronuts—”
“Cronuts?” Steve peeked over at you with a soft smile playing on his lips, captivated by your enthusiasm over a baked good that was foreign to him.
“Yeah! So it’s basically like if a croissant and donut had a child. Perfectly flaky on the outside, yet soft and buttery on the inside. They make a couple of variations every morning, but they usually sell out so quickly before I can get my hands on any.”
You sighed sadly, sulking back into the seat, knowing that you were never really a morning person and with their early opening time, it would be impossible to drag yourself out of bed to snag a dozen, no matter how heavenly they tasted.
“Have you ever tried making your own? I’m sure you could do it,” Steve spoke, turning the wheel into your complex.
You shook your head. “I tried a few times, but I can’t seem to get it down. I even tried asking the owners to share the recipe, but I think it’s one of the family ones that they want to keep a secret.”
He turned into a parking spot directly in front of your unit where the motion sensor light sparked up, casting a gentle golden glow around the both of you.
“That’s a shame. You know, I could always try to sneak in and steal their secret recipe for you?” His voice was laced with playfulness.
You couldn’t help but giggle, scrunching your face up with laughter, “I don’t think I’d have enough to bail you out for trespassing and robbery, Steve.”
His eyes drifted up in the air, while his fingers pointed at you. “But if I get the recipe for you, then you could open up your own place and outsell them, then you could bail me out.”
You reached out to poke at his arm gently, shaking your head. “Don’t entice me! Though I don’t think I’d be able to sleep or bake knowing you’re locked up.”
The car had been placed into park a little while ago, yet here you and Steve sat, still looking at each other with awfully wide smiles that didn’t have any plans to disappear anytime soon — the two of you wanting to stay in the sweet warmth that enveloped you.
Steve shrugged his shoulders and his eyes sparkled with adoration, “Oh, you don’t have to worry about me. The guys would totally be scared to mess with me after hearing how far I went to get a recipe for the best baker in Roane.”
You blushed stupidly at his words, “I’m just a regular person that enjoys baking!”
“Nope! You’re like on some Julia Child level. I won’t be surprised if you have your own baking show one day.” He said genuinely.
Crackling your nose, genuine humor and horror flashed over your face, “Ew god no! She’s amazing and I’m terrible on camera. I’ll probably freeze up and forget that I’m supposed to be talking the audience through every step.”
Steve narrowed his eyes, scolding you softly, “Hey, be nice to yourself.”
Your eyes widened at the realization, totally letting the comment slip by accident, “Sorry! Sorry, I forgot! But like seriously, I’m camera shy and that’s a fact, not an insecurity thing.”
“Well, if it makes you feel any better, when I was seven the local reporter asked me what my favorite ride at the county fair was and I froze up and I asked for my mommy.”
He pursed his lips, blinking his eyes closed and nodding his head admittedly while you slapped a hand over your mouth in shock. You tried to stifle your laughter but you couldn’t, convulsing down with endless giggles erupting in your chest.
“Steve! God, I’m so sorry! You must have been traumatized!”
He joined in on the laughter, rubbing his hand behind his neck, “I refused to watch the news! Every time my dad would turn it on, I would sprint towards the remote and change the channel because I was terrified of seeing myself on there.”
“I guess that would make two of us dorks on camera.” You settled down, eyes lingering on him where he nodded with a smile.
Neither of you wanted to say goodnight.
“I-I had a really great time tonight.” You started, rubbing your hands together in your lap, the slight wrinkling of the brown wrapping paper around the flowers making the only noise in the car.
He hummed in agreement, “So did I…the most fun in a while, but I’m probably going to be dreading sitting in traffic all the way back home, but it was worth—”
“Why don’t you stay over at mine tonight?”
The offer came out a little quick for your liking, even without you fully thinking it through, but it just seemed like the right thing to say.
“Really?” Steve asked, lifting his brows
You nodded, gulping down quickly, “Yeah! I can take the couch and you can take—”
“I’m not letting you take the couch.”
You breathed out, rolling your eyes, “Fine! You can take the couch and I’ll be sure to give you plenty of blankets and fluff up the pillows extra nice.”
“Hmm, it sounds tempting. You sure? I really don’t mind sitting through the traffic.”
You nodded firmly again, “Positive! Plus, they take forever to reopen the roads here, but they’ll probably be open in the morning and it’ll be just right.”
After having reassured him of his stay, he removed the keys out of the ignition before following your lead as you exited the car. You remained on the pavement, subconsciously waiting for Steve and digging into your jean pocket for your keys. Steve was quick, making a pit stop at the trunk to grab your crate of paintings you had forgotten about.
“Oh, thank you!” You whispered as you felt him behind you.
He simply smiled, following step by step to your front door and lingering close by as you worked the key into the lock, twisting it open. You entered first, your hand blindlessly pushing the door to keep it open for Steve as he stepped through. The dark entrance quickly lit up with the yellow fluorescence from when you flipped the light switch on.
You tioed your sneakers off, placing them on the small rack near the door and tossing your keys in the small pottery bowl.
“You can just give those to me.” You said, holding your arm out to finally take the crate from Steve as he obliged and worked on unlacing his shoes and placing them next to yours.
You walked deeper into your apartment, setting the crate down in an empty corner in the living room before you began turning on the rest of the lights to brighten up the place a bit. Surprisingly, you kept the place pretty tidy over the last few days, just a couple of paint bottles that you had left on the coffee table as you attempted to paint this morning before the gallery — unfortunately, that was unsuccessful.
And while Steve kept to himself, watching you quietly as you walked around and picked up a few things you had lying around, he couldn’t help but notice the vase of flowers he had previously given to you, still thriving in the middle of your coffee table.
Soon you were already heading towards the kitchen, walking past him with the new bunch of flowers in your hand ready to get them in another vase before they began to wilt.
“Do you want something to drink? Tea or anything?” You called out, tearing off the brown wrapping and tossing it into the rubbish before reaching for a glass jar to store them in for the meantime.
Steve didn’t miss a beat, crossing the short distance between the kitchen and the hallway watching you place the roses upon the kitchen window sill hoping they’d catch some much needed sunlight in the morning.
You turned on your heel, reaching for the fridge and opening it to retrieve the pitcher full of cold water.
“Just some water.” He said, grabbing clean glasses from the dishrack and held them out for you as you poured.
Steve waited until you closed the fridge before pushing out your glass first, letting you get your sip before him. To you it felt like a nice flow with him here, like a harmony of domesticity that you didn’t know you had been missing out on.
You leaned against the counter, watching him gulp the remainder of his water as you spoke, “Should I shower first, then you second? I think I might have a pair of sweats that could fit you, but I don’t think I’ll have a top or anything like that.”
He swallowed and nodded, “That’s fine, just some pants will be good enough. You don’t mind if I use the phone to call Robs? Just wanna let her know that I’m staying the night before she spam calls my house.”
You laughed, pointing towards the living room where the rotary phone sat on a small table near the couch, “She must be worried sick, so you better call soon. I’m gonna go shower really quick. And I swear I won’t use all the hot water!”
“No, please, don’t stop your hot water hogging in my presence.” He called out as you laughed out loud on your way to your bedroom to fetch a clean pair of pajamas for the night.
He heard the bathroom door shut and the water from the shower start up. Reaching back into the fridge, he poured himself another half cup of water, and finished it quickly before grabbing both his and your cup and heading towards the sink. After giving them a brief wash and setting them upside down on the rack to air dry, he plopped onto the couch, picking up the phone and dialing the numbers he knew by heart.
One, two, two-and-a-half rings, then the line picked up.
“I am so sorry we didn’t make it tonight! I swear, I was telling Eddie to drive faster, but then the stupid city troopers just started blaring their sirens and stepping out onto the road and before you know it, the road was closed, which is why—”
Maybe he had gotten accustomed to Robin’s rants, but he was almost about to let her finish before he had realized that she thought it was you on the other line and not her.
He pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to suppress his laughter as he cut her off, “Robin, jeez, slow down, it’s just—”
“Steve!” she exclaimed, nearly damaging his eardrums, “Why does it say you’re calling from Roane County?”
“Because I’m in Roane, dingus. I’m spending the night at her apartment. Traffic is still way too backed up for me to make it back to Hawkins tonight.”
There was a sharp gasp that came from her, followed by a hand hitting something, or actually someone who was sitting beside her, and shrieked out a “What!” in response.
Not that Robin was a great liar or anything, but Steve just knew she was doing a bad job at trying to hide the fact that Nancy, Max, and El were also in her bedroom, as he couldn’t mistake their familiar voices and gasps — especially Robin’s not so quiet whisper.
“Steve is spending the night with her at the apartment! Holy shit, he finally made his move!”
He pinched the bridge of his nose again, stretching the phone away from his ear as the sounds of girly screams and giggles came loudly from the other side. Rustling followed, which sounded like the phone dropped before it was picked up, and Robin’s voice echoed again.
“Steve? Steve, hello, are you still there?!”
“If I say yes, will you guys stop screaming like six-year-olds?” He asked with a heavy sigh, followed by a grunt by Robin.
Steve swore he could see the rolling over her eyes, just by the sarcastic scoff she offered him, “Don’t be ridiculous Steve, we’re more like ten-year-olds. Still in our youth, yet on the brink of teenage dirtbag status.”
“You have to stop hanging out with Eddie, I swear—you know what, whatever. I’m staying at her place as a friend. Did you get that? Friend.”
Again, there was that knowing sarcastic scoff that she responded with that would be followed with her classic banter.
“Whatever helps you sleep at night, Stevie. Just make sure you wear a rubber if you and her plan to “spend the night” as more than friends! I don’t need my friend knocked up with baby Harrington before her and I got the chance to go bar hopping.”
“Can we come too?” He could hear the two eager voices of El and Max in the background.
“No.”
Max jumped in, leaning in closer to the receiver, “To which one exactly? You and her sleeping together or us going to the bar?”
Steve hissed, shutting his eyes tightly “Robin, take me off a speaker! And that’s a no to both, by the way!”
There was laughter erupting from the other side again, before he heard a click and Robin’s voice came in a lot clearer as she pressed the phone to her ear, cutting Steve off from the rest of the gals.
“I’m just poking some fun at you, dingus. Your sex lives are none of my business, but I’m just trying to preach safety. How was the gallery by the way?”
He took a deep breath of relief, finally escaping to what he hoped would be a normal conversation with the uncomfortable comments towards him and his sex life that really was zero to none.
“Great. I actually bought something off of her, plan to hang it on my wall right next to the car poster above my desk.” He answered.
“Honestly, if I were you, just ditch that lame car poster and buy the rest of her art and flood your walls with it.” She half joked.
“No, that would be creepy — like a stalker level creepy or something. I don’t want her to think I’m creepy.”
Robin snorted. “The fact that you even considered it shows me how badly you actually want to get rid of that car poster.”
“Whatever…gonna throw it out next weekend or something.” He sighed, realizing that he had grown out of the lame car poster since he was sixteen.
“Or we could donate it to the Salvation Army? Maybe some pretentious twelve-year-old will think it’s another man’s treasure.” Robin suggested half jokingly.
“Yeah, okay, whatever. Anyway, after the gallery we went for dinner at her favorite diner—”
She gasped as if she knew exactly what he was talking about, “The one with the French toast smothered in strawberries?!”
He chuckled, nodding his head to himself. “Yeah, that one. She got hers with strawberries and I got blueberries.”
“Do you have something against strawberries?” She accused suspiciously.
“I thought I told you they’re too tart for my tastebuds — now can I tell you about the rest of the night?”
“Please do.” She responded, dropping the whole spiel about fruit and forgetting why she asked in the first place.
“Before we got our food, we talked, then we danced, then we ate and then we ended up here. She’s in the shower right now.” He looked down the hallway still hearing the shower going in the bathroom.
“Danced? Since when did you like dancing and may I ask what song?”
He pshed, rolling his eyes but he knew she could feel it, “I always liked dancing just not with you because you always step on my feet, and it was Great Balls of Fire.”
“Dude, I stepped on your foot like twice and it was actually your fault because you got the routine wrong! And I thought you said you hated that song?”
“Well, I don’t hate the song… at least not anymore.”
There was a gag on the other side of the line, making him chuckle before she spoke, “You’re so in love it makes me physically sick.”
His eyes widened, turning his voice down to a whisper, “Don’t say that! I’m not in love, I’m just…just, shit, I’m just—”
“Just really whipped by her, trust me we alllll know, but hey, if you want to play the long excruciating game before you finally see it through, then by all means go ahead, but the day you two finally stop dancing around these feelings will be the best day in my—”
“Steve, do you think these will do?” Your voice came barreling into the living room and his hand clasped over the receiver of the phone, cutting your voice off from Robin's side.
Your hair was wrapped up in a towel and you were dressed in some baggy sleep shorts and a tank top to match. You held a pair of gray sweats in your hands, along with a dark blue towel folded right beneath it.
Steve removed his hand from the phone, “Uh shoot, Robin, hold on,” he then placed the phone down, standing up and taking the pants from you.
He unfolded it, checking it out before nodding, “Yeah, these are fine. Thanks.”
You clapped your hand together cheerfully, “Okay, great! Sorry, I threw out all of my ex’s old stuff that he left, but you probably wouldn’t want to wear anything that douche owned, anyway.”
He nodded and watched as you gestured back to the bathroom.
“I left a new toothbrush in the bathroom by the way. And you can use my shampoo and body wash, I don’t mind! But you’ll probably smell like a florist by the time you get out, so just beware.”
Steve grinned, shrugging his shoulders, “Nothing I’d rather smell like — oh! Robin’s still on the phone by the way.” He looked down at the device, slight static that could be heard as you nodded.
“Can I talk to her for a bit?” You asked, walking over to take his spot on the couch.
He nodded and tucked the items under his arm as he began walking backwards towards the bathroom, “Tell her I said goodnight.”
“Will do.” You saluted, taking his previous spot on the couch as he spun around and headed into the bathroom.
“Robs?” You picked up the phone, bringing it to your ear.
“My favorite person in the entire world, hi! Sorry the rest of us couldn’t make it tonight. It was a whole thing with half the kids running late, Eddie not driving fast enough, then the road closed. Total chaos, but we’ll make it to the next one for sure!”
Her voice bursted with energy, excitement, and sincerity despite the late hour of the night, but you wouldn’t expect anything less from her. For some reason, she was always energized and ready to go, something you secretly wished you had too.
You giggled, shaking your head with a fond smile on your face, “Don’t even worry about it, I totally understand! And if it makes you guys feel better, it means a lot that you guys even remembered to come in the first place… it means a lot — more than you’ll ever know.”
“Stop! Don’t get all sappy on me because I don’t know if I’ll be able to take it without crying!” Robin warned with a sense of warmth laced in her comical tone.
You giggled again, playing off her teasing, “No, don’t you dare cry! You can’t cry when I’m not there to hug you and make it all better.”
She sighed dramatically, “Fine! I’m saving my tears for when you’re here to hold me and bless me with a homemade dessert.”
“Good, let’s keep it that way. I really missed you guys tonight.” You confessed, resting your head back on the couch as you could hear her apologetic sigh on the other side.
“We did too, but Steve told me you guys went out for dinner and he even danced with you?”
You hummed contentedly, “Yeah, he asked me to dance and it was great… the food and the dancing, duh.”
“Did he step on your toes?” She couldn’t resist taunting, knowing Steve wasn’t the best at footwork and probably skimped out on the deets of how he definitely stepped on your toes.
You laughed heartily and shook your head despite her not being able to see you, “God no, but I’m pretty sure I kinda scuffed up his Nikes.”
“He’s got a few more pairs at home. He’ll live.” She quipped, making the both of you laugh before she continued.
“Sooo did anything happen? Yenno besides dancing? Kissing perhaps?” Her voice was low and teasing, probing for more juicy details of the night.
Your eyes widened, feeling a slight blush creeping on your cheeks not wanting for Steve to stumble out on a conversation like this.
You cupped your hand over the receiver, eyes glued to the hallway to make sure he wasn’t going to come out of the bathroom anytime soon as you whispered.
“Jesus, no! W-we just dance and… sorta held hands while doing so but—”
Robin cheerfully interjected, happy that things were finally getting a move on with you and Steve, “Progress. We love to see it!”
“I thought we agreed on friends—” You started, before she quickly cut you off again and dismissed the thought of you and Steve just being friends.
“Yeah, whatever, be delusional and blind if you want. Just don’t act so surprised when the day finally comes when you both wake up and get together already.”
“You know, you’re so lucky that I love you.” You sighed half heartedly, half thankful and half terrified of her friendly meddling.
She gasped dramatically, holding a hand over her heart, “We’re already in the “I love you” stage? This is the fastest I’ve moved with a girl who isn’t even my girlfriend.”
“Well, consider me the first to say it after a few weeks, because it’s true. I love you… and all of your delusions.” You declared proudly, truly feeling that Robin was your platonic soulmate that you had been searching for since forever.
“I’m honored and I love you too! Speaking of “I love you’s”, do you love me enough to let me and the gal pals take a visit to Roane tomorrow?”
You thought for a minute, shrugging to yourself as you didn’t have much going on and it would be nice to have a girl’s day. After all, Max and El had been talking about wanting to explore Roane, and Nancy and Robs just wanted more quality time with you.
“Yeah, that’s fine, but I don’t have anything baked or prepared, but I can probably whip somethi—”
“Nancy and I got it covered! Just be up and ready. Let’s saaaayy around ten?” She assured you, clearly excited and ready for the visit.
“Okay, sounds like a plan, but I should probably go now. I still have to set up Steve’s bed for tonight, which is the couch—” you explained, ready to say your goodnights to her before being cut off again.
“You could always let him sleep in your bed?” she teased, earning a chuckle and eye roll from you.
“Okay, that’s it, I’m hanging up! Goodnight and I love you again.”
There were kissy sounds on her end, making you giggle before she spoke,“Night Night! Don’t forget protection and I’ll see you tomorrow…Oh! and tell Steve I said don’t let the bedbugs bite!”
“Night, Robs!” You said one last time before ending the call and looking forward to actually seeing her in person tomorrow along with the other gals.
Heading towards the small storage closet that housed plenty of household items, you grabbed a few things Steve would need for the night. An extra throw pillow and two blankets, a thicker one to keep him warm, and a thinner one to layer over the top if it got colder during the night.
You removed the decorative pillows that took up space on the already cramped couch, hoping it would magically make the space bigger to fit him. You fluffed up the throw pillow to the best of your ability, not wanting him to catch a cramp in his neck from the uncomfortable sleeping position. Not bothering too much with the blankets, you left them folded on the end of the couch, letting him decide how he wanted his makeshift bed to be for the night.
Still, even with the useless pillows thrown to the floor, the couch itself still looked too small for Steve. He was taller than you and the couch just barely housed your body when you laid straight on it. Though most times you would have to curl yourself into a ball to not feel so cramped.
Now you were really regretting just getting the damn couch for the looks rather than the spaciousness, but you had no idea years ago that a nearly 6 foot guy would be staying over the night. You were debating on just convincing Steve to take your room, knowing he’d have a much better night’s rest on your bed, so much so that you hadn’t realized that the bathroom door had creaked open.
“Why are you looking at your couch like that?” Steve’s amused voice broke through your anxious thoughts.
Turning your head over your shoulder, you were met with the sigh of Steve Harrington clad in only the gray sweatpants you had lent him. The top half of his body was exposed to your eyes and the four walls of the apartment that would most definitely never forget the sight.
“Umm, I uh, sorry… what did you say?” You stammered, feeling your cheeks turn red with embarrassment.
You were sure you looked like a tomato, eyes tightly shutting and trying to erase the image of him shirtless so you could stop acting like such a schoolgirl, however the freckles that sat across his skin were engrained in your mind — never could be wiped out.
He chuckled, arms instinctively wrapping across his chest to conceal bits of him, as if that would make it less awkward than it already was.
“It’s cute…” he remarked casually, brushing over your original question.
You opened your eyes slowly, a confused look plastered on your face because while you were totally distracted by his body, you knew for a fact he didn’t say anything about something being cute.
“Huh?”
He shrugged his shoulders, jutting his chin in the air towards you, “When you get all blushly.”
You gulped, running your hand over your neck and collarbones, feeling the heat radiating off your body.
“I…I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to stare, but you were kinda just standing right there and I didn’t expect to see you looking like that.” You paused, watching his brow raise jokingly before you backtracked and stumbled upon more word salad.
“Wait no, that’s not what I meant. I didn’t mean like that, in a bad way, but I meant like that in a ‘holy crap, I didn’t know Steve had so many moles and freckles’ kinda way.”
Steve smiled, biting back for it to cover his entire face, knowing it would make you even more blushier and though he found it endearing he didn’t want to tease you for it.
“They are kinda everywhere, huh?” He settled, looking down at his arms and inspecting the beauty marks that covered the expanse of it.
You nodded, resisting the urge to count how many he had alone on his left shoulder alone, and the hair that sprawled over his chest, “Y-yeah, everywhere.”
Steve didn’t let a second of silence go to waste, referring back to the original question he had asked you.
“I asked you why you were looking at the couch that way.”
Turning your head back at it, you gestured towards the length of the couch, sighing heavily before letting out a weak laugh.
“There’s no way this is going to be comfortable for you, Steve. You’re like a tall giant and when I nap on here, I curl myself up like a worm in order to fit on it.”
He tsked, giving you a shake of his head before going around you and plopping stomach down onto the couch. Steve tries his best to look comfortable, though you can’t mistake the way he’s bending his knees and squeezing his shoulders in to fit on the piece of furniture.
You giggled, settling on the floor and crossing your legs as you sat within eyesight of him. Your hand moved up to your head, removing the towel from your hair as you squeezed the fabric between your ends to soak up the remaining water as he watched.
“Steve, just take my bed tonight, please?”
He closes his eyes, humming out a “Nuh uh.”
“You’re going to wake up with horrible back pain tomorrow.” You warned voice lifting to something that was almost chiding.
Yet he remained rigid, peeking his eyes open and shaking his head against the cushions, “I’m not taking your bed and if it makes you feel better I’ve slept on worse. Mike Wheeler’s dusty basement carpet, for example.”
You scrunched your face up in disgust, nose instantly sniffling at the thought as Steve chuckled and maneuvered his palm under his chin to watch you.
“I’d probably have a sneezing fit.” You mumbled under your breath.
He nodded, “I practically sneezed myself to sleep that night, but hey, it was better than being home with my parents there.”
You grimaced, bunching your damp towel in your lap as you played with the fabric, wondering if you could ask him a question about his personal life. Sure, you had shared things with him, but you never wanted him to feel like he owed you part of his life just because you did.
Still you asked with caution and softness, “Sorry, if this is crossing a line, but… do you know when your parents get back in town or do they just show up unannounced?”
He gave you a reassuring smile, swiping away the hesitance on your face that was scared you were going too far. And while Steve had told you a bit about his tumultuous relationship with his parents, you weren’t quite sure if he would be open to talking about it more – his perspective and everything.
Usually he wasn’t, but with you he felt like he could.
“Usually I can guess when they’re leaving and coming home. My dad has a lot of business trips and conferences during the summer. They host them at fancy hotels and resorts and my mom likes mingling with the other wives that go.”
He explained and you nod, bringing your knees up to your chest and resting your chin on the caps as you continue to listen.
“Yeah, so, in the summer they’re gone for like a week, then they come home for a few days. But during the day my dad is at the office and my mom hangs out with her lady friends so I can usually avoid them, but it’s harder to do at night… y’know ‘cause where else is my mom and dad going to sleep right?”
He laughed uncomfortably, trying to make a joke out of it, which you totally understood because of the stipulations of him living under his parents’ roof and all, but still you knew that his home didn’t feel like home to him — at least not when his parents were there.
“And that’s why you prefer sleeping in Mike’s prehistoric basement, to avoid seeing them.” You speculated, but more so landed on the dot with.
He nodded, a tightlipped smile at how easily you saw through it and how you probably understood why he jumped at the offer at staying at your place tonight rather than going home and having to deal with running into his mom and dad.
Steve felt like, for the first time, he could go on and on about him, not terrified of making his family sound horrible, knowing it was embarrassing enough, but with you he knew you came with no judgment.
“I know it sounds crazy. Like why I can’t just suck it up and face them, but it’s so weird and dehumanizing. I can just tell that they’re judging me. I’m the only son they have and here I am still selling tapes at Family Video while my dad manages his own firm–”
“But you’re happy, right?” You didn’t mean to cut him off so suddenly, but you knew that this was the most important question of them all.
He furrowed his brows, staring at you confused before spitting out an answer, “Happy? I mean…it’s kinda difficult always trying to evade my parents, but it does kinda feel like I’m a secret agent sneaking into a Russian base trying to get my uniform at seven in the—”
You couldn’t help but interject again with a giggle, “I meant happy working at Family Video. You’re happy there, right?”
His smile grew wider despite misinterpreting your question for the second time around, but still you didn’t grow irate with him, just patient and more than happy to ask again and that alone made him feel no judgment and embarrassment alone.
“Oh! Well yeah, I guess at first it was a little boring, but after Robin and I started to get the groove of it, now it just feels like we’re hanging out and doing chores to pass time. And we get to watch movies and eat in the backroom snack bar.”
You smiled, lifting your shoulders up and letting them relax back down, happy with the sight of Steve in front of you. Sure, you knew that his parents were really hard on him, but he was the person who had to face it every day. Yet seeing him talk about how happy he was working with his best friend, that made up for a piece of the sadness that you could still tell was gnawing at him.
You weren’t sure if you could solve it, and you were sure that you couldn’t, but you could at least make it better for him.
“So who cares what your parents think? You’re happy and it’s working out for you, so what’s the big deal? Is daddy mad that his son doesn’t want to carry on his business legacy?”
Steve laughed, a genuine laugh that he half stifled into the pillow before settling his cheek on it and shaking his head with a smug smirk.
“Oh, he’d jump for joy the day I put on a suit and walk out the house with a briefcase up my ass.”
There was laughter in the air again, a sort of connection that was made purely off of the both of you opening up about something so deep and personal. In the diner it was him comforting you and here in your living room it was you being there for him in a way that no one else could.
It’s not that he didn’t want to open up to Robin or the rest of his friends about it, and truth be told they already knew. They knew that Steve had a rocky relationship with his parents, and Steve never hid it, but he did stray away from talking about it because why would he need to in the first place?
After all he had friends, true friends that cared about him the way that he wished his parents did, and he cared about them the way he always wanted to be appreciated for. Not tolerated just because his mom and dad were purely his blood, but celebrated because he found people who loved him in a way he didn’t think was possible.
But enough was enough for Steve. There was only so much he could hold in and after years of suppressing it and trying to act like it didn’t phase him the way it did when he was a teenager, it was now time to confront it and let it pass here…with you.
You settled from your laughter, slowly watching as Steve did the same, wrapping his arms over the pillow and propping his head up slightly supporting his chin.
You purse your lips, your fingers drawing circles on your knee as you spoke to him, “I know what it’s like. Unsupportive people and whatever, but you gotta just stick to it and they’ll back off eventually…or you can leave. Start a new chapter without them.”
He seemed to ponder your words for a second before replying, “Is that what you did?”
With a knowing smile, you shrugged, “Yeah, I guess you could call packing up and leaving without telling anyone would count.”
“That sounds like the dream.” He sighed, closing his eyes at the thought of packing up and running away to start his life without his parents in his.
You could tell he was thinking of it, dreaming up the thought of a life where he could live it the way he pleased without trying to please his mom and dad. You used to do the same thing, waiting for the day to finally get the courage to live your life and dreams unapologetically, without the weight of your ex that would only make you feel less than.
Instinctively, your hand reached out and softly tapped on his hand, prompting him to open his eyes and stare at yours resting upon his before meeting your eyes.
“It’s really nice, and hey, if you ever need a place to stay, you’re always welcomed here. I just can’t promise a comfier couch next time, but I can assure you I vacuum and mop the floors weekly.” You offered graciously.
“Thanks, that’s really nice of you.” Steve replied, the gratitude and sincerity evident in his voice.
Your thumb moved over his knuckles warmly, feeling the pulse point of his vein before retracting, “Of course, and thanks for today. Showing up and giving me a ride. It really means a lot.”
Part of Steve wished you kept your hand there, knowing it was the thing that was keeping him grounded here with you, like a promise that you would keep forever. Instead, he settled for a smile, maneuvering his body and sitting upright to see you clearly.
“Yeah, no problem. I had a blast, and I’d love to come to the next one, whenever that might be. I’ll make sure everyone is on time this time around.”
You grinned, standing up and throwing your damp towel over your shoulder, “I’ll let you turn in for the night, and please, don’t hesitate to wake me up before you leave.”
“And ruin your beauty sleep?” He joked, standing up and holding his arms out towards you.
You giggled, shaking your head as you walked into the frame nuzzling your face into his warm chest and feeling his warmth envelope you. His bareness left little imagination to your sense of feeling, but just as you suspected, his skin was soft and the fuzz on his chest tickled your neck in a comforting way that you didn’t want to shake off.
Taking a deep breath of him in, and feeling his arms tighten around you, you whispered loud enough for him to hear, “Nighty night, Steve.”
“Goodnight, sweet thing.” He replied in a soft murmur, his fingers leaving indents in the small of your back where he hugged you tightly before releasing and letting you go.
You had to find it in you, to finally pull away, giving him one around smile before you turned on your heel and headed towards your bedroom. The slight ruffling of the blankets and his body moving against the cushions as background noise on your short walk to the door before you took one last glance back and saw him smile at you, fingers ready to pull on the lampshade to turn the place dim.
Your fingers twiddled at him, before you finally shut your door, and only then did you hear the click of the lamp, darkening the rest of the apartment as you threw your towel into the hamper.
Slipping beneath your covers and turning to tuck your face into your pillow is where you finally let out a squeal – one that you had been holding back for the entire night.
Steve had made you feel things, maybe things not so foreign because after all crushes were a normal part of life, but he made you feel a kind of way where the light bulb in your head lit up and stayed on when you were around him. Almost like a constant realization that he was always so good – good to you and good to everyone else in his life.
He never wanted or asked you to change, but just wanted you to see things through in a way that would benefit you for the better. You never knew what this was like, accustomed to feeling like you had to shapeshift into being something that was pleasing for men, yet here you were not being asked for that by Steve. Just being asked to be nicer to yourself, because he knew you were worthy and capable of it.
Something in you was holding on to each and every single one of his words, hoping that he meant it in a way that was more. More than friends. More than everything that you believed you two were just destined to be.
A sweet thing. Something so sweet that only you wanted with him, yet didn’t know if you could have. A kind of sweetness that could only be dreamt up in your wildest dreams.
And so dream you did, of the sweet things you and Steve could be in another world.
A word where you and him would switch off weekends at each other’s homes.
A world where you would stop in at Family Video just because you missed him.
A world where you could pick up the phone and hear his voice on the other line because he wanted to see what you were doing.
A world where you two would take turns washing dishes and drying.
A world where you could sit in your living room or a half empty diner and just talk without being afraid.
A world where it was just you two against whatever obstacle that you both were facing.
A sweet, sweet, sweet world where it was you and Steve, hand in hand, chest to chest, lips to—
“Wakey wakey, gorgeous! You forgot to set your alarm, didn't you?”
Your eyes snapped out, instantly letting out a shout as you saw Robin hover above you with your alarm clock in her hands. She flinched, stepping back and giving you room to breathe as you sat up and caught your breath.
“Robin, what the hell! How did you even get in here…and what time is it?” You gathered your comforter closer to your chest, closing your eyes and sighing, not believing this was real.
She shrugged her shoulders, placing your alarm clock back on the bedside table before plopping back first at the end of your bed and turned her head towards you.
“Max apparently has a talent for picking locks, and it’s almost a quarter to ten. We were going to just wait outside until you woke up, but I almost had a heatstroke out there so breaking and entering it was.”
Despite the suddenness of it all, you couldn’t help but close your eyes and let out a laugh as you fell back into your pillows. You definitely forgot to set your alarm last night and the last thing you wanted was your friends who drove all the way here to be waiting outside in the hot Indiana heat.
You felt Robin crawl up the space and settle beside you, her hands resting on the pillow where she laid her head as she smiled at you cheekily, “Not mad are you?”
You shook your head and bopped her nose before she crinkled it, “Nope! But you do owe me by making my bed.”
She groaned, stuffing her face in the pillows as you got up and stretched your arms out wide feeling the tension release in your limbs as you walked out of your room and headed to the living room to greet everyone else while Robin’s groans died down.
Max and El, sat on your couch flipping through comics. The blankets that Steve had used the night before neatly folded and placed on the arm of the furniture. Meanwhile, Nancy moved across the kitchen table setting out plates and utensils keeping to herself and knowing where everything was it seemed.
“Morning, pretty ladies.” You greeted, watched their eyes fall on your less than sleepy and surprised state.
El popped up from the couch first, easily clinging to your side with a hug, “Good morning! Sorry we had to break in, but Robin was dehydrated.”
You grinned, draping your arms around her and hugging her warmly before she pulled away, “We can’t have our dear Robin dying of dehydration can we?”
“Definitely not, especially not before she gets the inside scoop on you and Steve’s date last night.” Max chimed in, giving you a side hug as you rolled your eyes playfully and pushed her shoulder gently.
“It was not a date!” You retorted making your way to the kitchen to greet Nance who was smiling to herself as she still set the table.
You wrapped your arms around her shoulders, bringing her to a stop as she threw her head back and hugged you tightly, “Sorry about breaking and entering… but Robin and I brought some breakfast so I hope it helps!”
You looked over her shoulder, seeing the take out boxes of pancakes, link sausages, toast, and other goodies that they had picked up from a place in Hawkins.
“This totally makes up for it, and I’ll just give you guys a copy of my key. That way, no more breaking and entering and then you guys can bring me breakfast forever!”
“Sounds like a better idea than picking the lock every time,” she quipped pulling away from the hug, “do you have any orange juice, by chance?”
“Yeah, I’ll grab it, no worries,” You said heading towards the fridge and going to open it, before you noticed the bright yellow post-it that stuck to the appliance.
Messy and rushed handwriting filled the small square and your fingers ripped it off, reading it to yourself…
Thanks again for letting me spend the night, it means a lot! Didn’t want to leave before you got up, but I promised Eddie I’d help him and his uncle Wayne with something at their trailer.
Anyway, I hope you don’t mind that I started the washer with the pair of sweats you lent me and I left the top that you forgot at my place folded on the dryer. I also woke up early and got a honey rose latte, and you were right, it tastes heavenly. I asked them to make yours with almond milk and no ice, and I left it on the second shelf in the fridge. Managed to snag a dozen of those cronuts and I left them in the microwave to keep them warm. Hope you don’t mind that I took the blueberry one.
Enjoy, and I hope we see each other soon, sweetheart.
- Steve <3
There was a wide smile on your face, stupidly reading his words over and over again and hyper-fixating on him remembering your milk of choice and the tiny crooked heart drawn next to his name.
Steve Harrington didn't seem real at all, someone that you could only think up to be that perfect and attentive to small details. And no guy would ever go as far as this for you, but there you were opening the fridge to see your favorite latte sitting on the second shelf of your fridge and when you turned to look at the microwave, you could see through the transparent glass, the bakery box that held the delectable treats in.
You probably looked just as silly, frozen in your kitchen staring at a piece of paper and smiling to yourself like a maniac. It was only a few more seconds until Robin came sliding in next to you, creeping over your shoulder.
“Oooo, did the lover boy leave a note!” Robin wiggled her brows, attempting to peek at the note before you quickly clutched it to your chest for safe keeping.
You blushed, and turned on your heel, grabbing the orange juice and your drink and placing it on the table, “That is a secret that will not be revealed!”
“He did!” The younger girls shouted from the couch as you blushed and shook your head
“I’m going to go brush my teeth and then I’ll be out!” You called out, walking back to your room with the note still in the palm of your hand.
“Then you’re going to spill the date details!” Robin shouted, pouring orange juice into the glasses.
You could hear Nancy jokingly scolding Robin, “Give her a break, will you?”
Quickly, you slipped into your quaint laundry room on the other side of the hallway where the slight rumbling from the washing machine was beginning to slow down. There was your white eyelet top that you had worn and left behind the first time at Steve’s place sitting folded on the washer with another note placed on the top of it.
Forgot to give this to you the last time I was here. I read the label and the machine washed it in cold water then put it in the dryer on low. Hope I didn’t ruin it or anything!
- Steve :)
You picked up the garment, assessing it and seeing that the stain was fully gone and instead it was perfectly clean and now reeking of everything, Steve. The sandalwood, mint, freshness, and warmth — everything him. The scent filling your senses and going back to the hug you two shared last night, wishing it were his arms wrapped around you again.
Now you definitely knew what you were going to be wearing today and who was going to be running through your mind — even if this was your town and your place, he had already left a mark too big and permanent for you to erase.

"Maestro's Home" || Michael Jackson One-Shot
Imagine going to Maestro's home to meet him. When you do, he is intrigued as you are not scared of him. You become fast friends.
Based off my imagine I recently posted, but I changed it a bit to fit the story version lol
It's been a long time since I wrote a one-shot, so I'm sorry if it seems rushed - I didn't know how long was too long and how short was too short LOL
There also shouldn't be any identifiers such as gender or appearance - just simply you :)
You hadn’t been to your hometown in a few years - admittedly a long time. Growing up, you never had many friends and you sometimes would get picked on for things out of your control. You felt like all you could do was travel. You tried not to stay in one place for too long, as wherever you ended up never felt right. One day you arrive in a town called Normal Valley. You had just set up your apartment with the essentials - that being a sofa, a TV, and a bed. Amongst other little knick-knacks you picked up while you had been on the go. You had made the lease only six months. You went to work downtown and suddenly, you got a feel for the people there. They seemed awfully judgemental and terribly, well, normal. As you finish up your shift at the local grocery store, an older woman could see you were new. She probed you for a moment.
“I haven’t seen your face around here before…What’s your name?” She asks.
“Oh, yeah, I’m new…for now. My name is (Y/N),” You say as kindly as you can.
“What brings you to Normal Valley?” She asks you again.
“Oh, you know. Just looking for a change of pace,” You chuckle nervously.
“A change of pace, huh? Well, it sounds like you won’t be sticking around for long,” She says, getting a bit annoyed. Before you could speak again, she continued talking.
“As long as you stay just the way you are, you’ll fit in fine here. Nobody likes a freak…Which reminds me - Don’t go up the hill at the edge of town. That’s where the biggest freak of them all lives,” She says, widening her eyes as she gossiped.
You felt that was quite rude of her to say but you nod.
“Uh, thank you for the tip…,” You say, feigning a pleasant smile. You watch the woman walk away and speak to an older man with white hair and black glasses. He had a hearty laugh. You must have made a face because your next customer spoke up.
“That’s the mayor! Pleasant man, keeps the order around here better than anyone,” He said.
You look at your customer then look back to the mayor. He seemed like anything but pleasant to you.
That night as you lay in bed, you couldn’t stop thinking about ‘the freak’ that lived on top of the hill. You had seen the grand old mansion that rested there but you didn’t think anyone actually lived there. It looked run down and vines encased the whole thing. Someone really lived there? And ‘freak’? Why was he called that? You felt bad as you had been called many names in your time and it was always hard to hear. You sat up and sat on the edge of the mattress. You couldn’t shake the feeling - the feeling of something innately calling your name. You stood up and walked to the window, peeking out of the blinds. You hadn’t noticed that you could see the mansion from your window, but you could. And oddly enough, you could see a light on.
“I guess someone does live there,” You say to yourself outloud.
You grab your hoodie laying nearby and slip your shoes on. You put the hood up and zipper up the zipper. You were trying to look inconspicuous, but you potentially looked a little more like you were up to no good. But, at any rate, you grabbed your keys and left your apartment after locking it. You got in your car and drove to the base of the hill. You parked your car and looked around before you got out. It was around 10 PM and the town was dead. You took a few steps and looked around once more before you began to ascend up the hill. When you got to the top, the hill plateaued. It was foggy and honestly quite a bit spooky. The home was surrounded by a large fenced in yard. The yard had dead grass and tombstones. You couldn’t tell if they were just decoration or not. There was also a gate at the entrance. The gate said:
“SOMEPLACE ELSE”
You weren’t sure what you were going to do. Go forward or turn around and go back home? You pulled your hoodie closer to your body as a chill went up your spine. Then - the gate opened by itself. It let out a loud, rusty, squeak. You look around. There was still no one in sight. But, the decision had been made for you, clearly. The thing that was calling you seemed to be this mansion. It was like it wanted you to be there, too. You step into the gate with a shaky breath. You weren’t sure why, but your feet kept moving. Your feet took you to the front door. And that, too, opened by itself. You blink for a moment.
“I must be out of my damn mind,” You say out loud. Part of you urges you to turn back and go home. But, the other part of you is far too intrigued. You take a deep breath and inhale, close your eyes, and exhale. You then open your eyes and step inside.
You look around. The mansion is even more grand on the inside. Marble pillars and checkered linoleum floors. Tall walls and a picturesque central staircase. You walked straight through and entered into the parlor, as that door was open too. You look around - the moonlight shone bright through the large bay windows.
“H-Hello?” You call out. You don’t get an answer but you hear a loud bang. You don’t necessarily jump but you look quickly over to where the noise had come from. You walk over to a doorway with a black curtain in front of it. You sigh and turn back towards the windows.
“Well, I guess this was a waste of time,” You say.
But, just as you’re about to walk away, something touches your shoulder. You freeze but for a moment before you turn around and are met with a tall, lanky, cape with a skeleton face. You blink. You’re a little scared but mostly just confused. The figure stands there for a moment, almost staring at you. You clear your throat.
“So someone does live here,” You say with a chuckle.
The figure pulls the skeleton face down, revealing that it was a mask. You are met with piercing brown eyes staring you down.
“Did I scare you?” He asks.
“Eh, maybe startled me a little. But, no…I’m fine,” You say with a smile.
“I’m (Y/N). I was told not to come here by the locals. But, I had to see what was going on for myself,” You say.
“Is that so? Come to see the freakshow?” He asks a bit harshly. You shake your head.
“Quite the opposite. I came to see the poor soul that they called ‘the freak’. What should I actually call you?” You ask in a friendly manner.
He pulls the mask down further and furrows his eyebrows at you.
“Maestro. You can call me Maestro,” He says a bit shortly, but he’s intrigued by you now.
"You know, people don't just come here to say a friendly hello to me…,” He says, taking the cape off and laying it down on a chair. He circles around you. You watch him closely.
“It’s late for you townsfolk , isn’t it?” He asks, pacing the floor a bit.
“I guess it is but, erm, I’m not really part of the townsfolk. I’m new around here,” You say a bit nervously.
Maestro stops and looks at you with a bit more of a kinder smile, but still quite mischievous.
“Oh? When did you get here?” He asks, crossing his arms.
“A few days ago. I work at the grocery store. But, I never stay in one place for long,” You say softly, a little sad at your own answer.
Maestro tilts his head a bit.
“Why is that?” He probes your mind once more.
“Well…Truthfully I don’t really have a place to call home. No where has ever felt like home to me,” You say, crossing your arms now.
Maestro looks at you with an even softer face now.
“You're not like the others, either, are you?" He asks, giving you a sincere look.
You look back at him, looking him in the eye.
“I guess you could say that,” You say with a smile.
Maestro opens his arms and looks around.
“You’re welcome to stay here for the night - should you see fit,” He says with a kinder smile.
“Just watch out for my family,” He says with a mischievous laugh. You look at him confused before you hear a growl. You look up and see a werewolf-like creature hanging on the ceiling, staring at you. You look at Maestro.
“They don’t scare me either, you know,” You say matter-of-factly.
Maestro laughs and smiles.
“I think you’ll fit in here just fine, (Y/N),” He says.
“We can be ‘the freaks’ that bothers the normies in town,” You say with a playful smirk.
This makes Maestro laugh again and he nods.
And thus was the start of a beautiful friendship between the two of you - and the rest of Maestro’s family at Someplace Else. After your friendship became stronger, you decided to stay and live with him. Finally, able to call a place home and it feel like home. And when the mayor’s angry mob came to the doorstep in efforts to kick Maestro out of town - you joined in on his hijinks and scared the townspeople as well. You especially enjoyed scaring the older woman who you originally met at the grocery store who called Maestro a freak.
“You’re a freak, too, I knew it!” She shrieks.
“Maybe I am. But you know what? I’m with people I love and people who love me. And yeah, we might be a bunch of weirdos - Yet, we are kinder and more unified than this entire town is!” You proclaim to her, and to all.
Maestro smiles proudly at you. He was very happy to have taken you under his wing but also happy that you were strong enough to stand up for yourself and for him and his family. And with your help, you were all able to stay in town by the vote of the community, after they realized none of you were an actual threat to their town.
#i am so glad to be writing one-shots again tho#i am ready for the next#and i got ideas#i believe maestro has the ability to be soft under all that mischievousness#did i spell that right#idk lol#anyway#enjoy#michael jackson imagines#michael jackson one-shots#michael jackson#michael jackson ghosts#maestro#imagines#one-shots

Idk how many more ideas I have left in me lol
Request - König OR Rodolfo Parra x F! Reader [fluff]
Prompt/Idea - They're always writing poems/drawing stuff but they've lost inspiration. That's until they meet the reader on base or outside of the base, and immediately they begin to write/draw about them. The reader notices them and tries to talk to them, but they freak out and walk away, just for the art piece to fall out of their book. The reader picks it up and smiles
An Artist’s Muse
König x f! reader
I loved the idea of both so I may do another for Rudy. If this gets 20 likes I’ll do a Rudy version!
Sorry I have been inactive, I didn’t have any writing juice in me…. This is a short but sweet story. I changed it up a little bit because I didn’t read the full thing and I should’ve lol. I still think this is super sweet.
Warnings: none, fluff
Scenario: when König meets his girl for the first time, he gets the sudden urge to open his sketch book to draw.
Austria was a beautiful place with scenery that rivaled even some of the best locations anywhere else in Europe or America for that matter. König believed it wholeheartedly. This was his home where he grew up with his father and mother on their farm. He loved it here, though he hated the people of his town to some degree. But here he was sitting in another local area in a small café right outside of the main street. He was away from his obligations for a few months. He needed some time to recover and some time to rest. Just to be by himself.
One of his favorite past times was art. Growing up his mother sent him to an art school where he fell in love with art. He enjoyed doing a large variety of different things ranging from acrylic to oil watercolor and sketching with pencils and pens. He was a natural talent and everyone believed that he had a knack for it. He even entered a few of his pieces into a few contests and even one a little bit of prize money here and there. One might think that he would’ve chosen a path dealing with something in art for his career but he needed some thing else to channel his aggression, while art was a good way to relax, he still needed some thing else to fuel his mind.
As he was sitting, trying to think of some thing to draw, anything would be good at this point, he heard the door chime from where he was at his table. The café wasn’t usually busy at this time of the day but there were the occasional people that would be going back-and-forth ordering drinks or grabbing a quick bite to eat before heading off to another meeting or leaving to go do some thing. He didn’t like going during the times that were a little busy. As he took a sip from his coffee, he looked up to see a girl. This made him almost choke on his hot beverage, to him she was beautiful. Her hair flowed gracefully over her shoulders and her beautiful eye sparkled as she was trying her hardest to speak to the barista in his native tongue of German. It wasn’t good he wouldn’t lie but he could see the effort that she was trying. Thankfully the barista also knew English and help the girl out order her drink. König wanted to hide and not be seen. Out of all the days an angel had to land on this one particular afternoon.
The girl sat in a table next to a window across from him. She had brought a book to read and seems to be enjoying the hard cover. Inspiration hit him hard. Carefully pulling out his sketchpad once again, he began quietly working away every once in a while taking a quick glance in her direction just enough to remember features before sketching more on the page.
She stayed only for an hour before getting up, finishing her coffee, putting it in the trash, and waving goodbye to the baristas. He wanted to go after her, to show her what he had done so far, but he knew that would be awkward for both of them. She might think that he was stocking her and the last thing he wanted was to startle her. He was now pretty grumpy about the whole thing. All he wanted to do was to give her his drawing of her and hopes of asking her if she wanted to grab coffee soon, but now his chances were ruined because he didn’t have the courage to ask. He groaned and lightly hit his head against the table. He hated his social awkwardness, he always did. He just wanted the courage to go up and ask her.
Sighing, he picked up his equipment and put them back into his bag before he to finish this coffee and left for the day. As he walked out, he wanted to see if he could spot her anywhere on the street, but it was like she vanished. There was no trace of her. Cursing to himself quietly, he made his way to his car to head back to his families homestead.
3 weeks later
It has been three weeks since König had seen her and he finally lost hope in her coming back. Once again, he was sitting at his favorite table trying to come up with some idea to sketch some thing else outside of this memory of this mysterious girl. As he was about to give up, the door opened again and the same girl came back. She was talking to the barista about how she had made a trip to the capital city with some of her friends for school before ordering herself another cup of coffee and walking to the table where she sat last as she once again opened her book and began reading. König wasted in no time sketching out the finishing touches to her.
She got up to use the restroom and left her book open to the page where she was at. Taking in all of his courage, König stood up and with the paper in his hand, carefully placed it in her book where she was reading before hastily making his way back to his table hoping that the shadows hit him well enough for her not to notice. A part of him was praying that she would find him and talk to him and another part of him dreaded the idea of being caught.
When the girl came back she saw the paper and looked over it. A small blush formed over her cheeks as she quickly scanned the room for the person that could have done this. Her eyes landed on König, Who was fidgeting with his pencil sharpener, too nervous to look up. She closed her book and walked over to him.
“Did you do this?” She asked
König looked up and nodded shyly.
“It’s very beautiful.” The girl smiled, “Thank you for making me your muse.”
“O-oh no problem! You are very b-beautiful and I wanted to capture your radiance.” König Wanted to be run over by a truck. He sounded so cliché and stupid.
The girl blushed and gave a light laugh, “Well your not too bad yourself. I’m (y/n) by the way.”
“König.” He applied alittle to quickly and abruptly, but the girl didn’t seem to take notice of this.
“Conich?” She tried to say his name on her tongue.
“König.” He made the syllables a lot more clearer for her to hear.
“Con…Kön…ing…. König?” She asked looking at him if that was how she needed to say it.
The man grinned happily “Yes! Good!” He felt like there was a million butterflies just dancing around in his stomach. It made him happy and wanting to throw up all at the same time. Was this love? He felt at once a long time ago in his youth only to have it be betrayed on him.
“Well König, it was nice meeting you, your really good at this, you made my day…. Well I will see you around.”
“W-wait!” He stood up a little too fast making the table bump against his legs and the chair creek behind him. “Ummm…. I was wondering if you would like to grab some coffee sometime… if not I understand.” He couldn’t look at her directly. And fiddled with his hands as he was trying to come up with a sentence without sounding like an idiot or a creep.
(Y/n) just smiled and nodded “sure I would love too… tomorrow same time?” She asked.
“Ja… that would be good.” He nodded vigorously.
“Ok König I will see you tomorrow.” The girl blushed and walked back over to her table to finish reading her book with the paper in her hand. König practically collapsed back into his chair, he could hear his heart beating in his rib cage harder than it had ever beated before.
He got up after a little bit of calming himself down, to leave. He waved shyly back at (y/n) and she returned the wave smiling back at him making the tall man blush even more, as he made his way to the door. Once he got back into his car, he stared blankly at the roof trying to collect some thought that was flowing through his head that came up empty. Did he really just find a girl and was able to win her over with just a silly piece of art? Surely he couldn’t be that talented in doing that the only time he ever seen that happen was through films. He prayed to whatever was listening to him, that this would be the one for him, the one person who he had been searching for.

so sorry that this took so long for me to get to! a lot happened in the past few days lol.
So i’m going to start with but daddy I love him. This is a Will song but more of Solangelo through his lens! the overall idea i think of is how will is like the perfect kind healer. most of camp who doesn’t exactly know him just views him as a kinda normal guy when he’s really a lot more complex then that. (and the fact that he’s a nerd lol) “Dutiful daughter, all my plans were laid. Tendrils tucked into a woven braid””There's a lot of people in town that I
Bestow upon my fakest smiles”I think that these lines show off the expectations that will faces at camp as the so called sunshiny doctor. Now onto the main idea of the song as people viewing different people as a stain that will dirty the people they’ve viewed as perfect. and i think that this is what would have happened with nico and will after they revealed they were together (i don’t accept the tsats confession scene and i belive they were secretly together for around a month until then) everyone still thought of nico as that weird dangerous hades kid (and just when they were friends in general.) some people depict it as nico arriving and staying and everyone just automatically loves him when it would take a few months for people to see how good of a person he is, especially with how quiet he is and how “odd” he is (this is because of his autism but that’s for another day.) I feel like some people may have tried to stop will from seeing nico, such as distracting him with tasks or other things because they disapproved of nico “they slammed the door on my whole world” for example. “screaming but daddy i love him!” is a funny example of things will would actually say when defending nico (as he should) people wouldn’t listen to him for a while. also the “i’m having his baby” line is while will can’t have kids (in my hcs he’s cis)(nico isn’t tho 😈) but the principle of it is others thinking a relationship is moving too fast. and with how hopelessly in love nico and will are they would probably think that they’re moving way too quickly when really they just love each other (they said i love you the minute they confessed okay…) “i know he’s crazy but he’s the one i want” will can accept that his boyfriend is a little gremlin sometimes and is proud of it‼️ and “he was chaos he was revelry” personally i don’t think nico is all that chaotic most of the time but i guess the whole secret relationship and how he’s just different from others could be portrayed through that. and how will had only really reacted with the “basic” campers at chb who had personalities sure but they weren’t as much of a mystery as nico was. “Soon enough the elders had convened Down at the city hall "Stay away from her" The saboteurs protested too much
Lord knows the words we never heard Just screeching tires and true love” people were telling them left and right to break up probably 😭 (not nico just will cause they’re scared of nico) but will didn’t listen to them like so many other people who know nico have. letting others opinions shape their opinion of him take percy for example hates his guts but then actually gets to know him and he’s very nice. “I'll tell you something right now I'd rather burn my whole life down Than listen to one more second of all this bitching and moaning” will being pissed over insulting his boyfriend is so real! also instead of listening and breaking up with nico he would rather throw his reputation away and how people think of him to be with nico. “I'll tell you something about my good name It's mine alone to disgrace I don't cater to all these vipers dressed in empath's clothing” people kinda treated will in that era of his life as he couldn’t make his own choices. like he was just being with nico to try and fix him or he was being forced or something lol. when he’s a very smart person who can make choices for himself. “Thinking it can change the beat Of my heart when he touches me And counteract the chemistry And undo the destiny” i just think this line for them is cute hehe “You ain't gotta pray for me” you know. gods. praying. yes. “Me and my wild boy
And all this wild joy If all you want is gray for me Then it's just white noise And it's just my choice” AGAIN WITH PEOPLE NOT REALIZING WILL IS A TEENAGER AND ABLE TO MAKE HIS OWN CHOICES AND HE IS NOT JUST THE CAMPS SUNSHINE ANYMORE AND HAS FREE WILL (haha) “I'm his lady, and oh my God you should see your faces.) very cute way to show how will shoved it in people’s faces when they realized that nico is such a polite and wonderful boyfriend. (especially when they see how nico courted will when they first got together lol) I think this is all i have at the moment so sorry it’s so unorganized i am not good at putting my thoughts into writing! but think of will the next time you listen! :)

high ground [vash the stampede] .06.
Summary: Snippets of the little moments in between the chaos of traveling with one Humanoid Typhoon. [Vash/Reader]
prompt: diamond.
A/N: Practice for the larger series I have in mind and practice on how to write Vash’s character, so this will be on the short end. a birthday gift from me to the readers! lol. the next two chapters are going heavy on the mc's background and on her current/former relationship with vash.
When you had lived under another name in another lifetime from your present one, Achraf had told you that you had no heart. You lived too cruelly and only cared for yourself up to the last moment. Surely, he would be laughing or smiling at how piously you were living now. However, that past life left you with scars, both mentally and physically, that had not healed over the decades and that you continue to ignore -- that was until nights like this, when you are alone in a rented hotel room with your thoughts since the other four members of your party were sharing rooms this time around.
When everything in this desolate world could condemn you to death, you must find something to hold onto and believe in.
Achraf held steadfast to his beliefs and himself to the very end, but at the time you were nothing but a rage filled ball of anger and resentment. Now, in your older age, you had only begun to understand what he meant. It left you aching for the past and wandering the dark and nearly desolate hotel room in the middle of night until you ended up on the rooftop. The cold wind wrapped around you, stealing your body heat quickly but it really didn’t bother you.
I hope you do something good with this long life of yours, my hellion. I hope you find a heart and it hurts you just as it did me.
“Hey, hey ,” a voice breaks your reminiscing as you turns to see Vash in his sleeping clothes staring at you from the door you thought you had been just a few moments ago, only to realize that you were overlooking the roof to the outstretched view of the small town, “Are you okay?”
His pretty blue eyes are full of concern and you can’t help but wonder if Achraf would be disappointed or proud of you at that moment. It had taken you years, but you were slowly coming to understand everything he had ever spoken of -- about having beliefs and finding a heart.
“I’m fine, Vash,” you murmur while wrapping your arms around yourself, “It’s just one of those nights where I can’t sleep very well.”
You almost want to ask how he had picked up that you had left your room, but you knew Vash well enough that he probably had his guard up since entering the hotel regardless how friendly he had gotten with the owner and other guests in the dining hall a few hours before. He walked towards where you were sitting when he took note that you were not going to be leaving just cause he was there now. The rattling of your thoughts ends for a moment as you stare at him -- droopy hair and gray sweats and slippers, so unlike the red coat and spiky hair that everyone seems to have their own story and exaggeration on.
“So…what’s keeping you up?”
Blue eyes look at you, waiting for an answer but you wonder if he thinks he’ll actually get one. You have slowly been opening up to him more, but there was still a wall that he could not crossover. So many people had tried to break or climb over, but where others failed, like Achraf had, Vash had time to keep playing this game of cat and mouse with you and he was annoyingly persistent when he wanted to be. Maybe it is due to that that you decided to let him know or maybe it is because of the late hour and your sleepiness that you decide to give in just a little.
“I think it’s mostly regrets tonight,” you remark while moving closer to the blonde, as if seeking his warmth out, which gives him pause for moment before he follows suit, "I have lived far too long to regret the choices I have made in order to survive, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t try to suffocate me from time to time.”
You let out a small yawn, unaware of the blue eyes taking you with a mix of sadness and awe. It takes him a while to try to say something since he starts to feel your body bump into his.
“You know I’m bad at explaining,” Vash laughs in self-deprecation, “..but, you can lean on me, ya know?”
It takes him a while to realize what had happened before shaking his head as to why you haven’t answered him with your usual clipped manner. He can’t help but let out a puff of air in defeat as he takes note that you had fallen asleep while he had been thinking of his answer. You’re leaning on to his metal arm as the rest of you is still placed on the other side of the roofing of the hotel. He is going to have to pick you up and carry you back to your room, a thought that makes him blush on the way back though he still can’t help but think back on your words as well and be at awe with you all over again.
You struggle and fall back to reflect on your actions once more. You are constantly changing and transforming -- a beautiful jewel that is endlessly dimming and shining and that he can’t help but keep looking at and falling in love with even more.
--And that thought causes him to pause in the middle of the hallway in mortification as he looks down to stare at your sleeping form in shock.

Rock Tunnel Face-Off
Words: 2,668
Pokemon AU- Evolution (Lol)
Characters: Hatake Kakashi, Uchiha Obito (Minor Rin and Gai. Mentioned Asuma and Kurenai)
@alumort (I'm so sorry T.T) @abyssaldespair
Stealing Pokemon was the lowest someone could go. To think that they had the right to snatch away another trainer’s partner and try to make them their own. It was despicable.
Kakashi had always known that Root was full of the worst type of people, but he’d never realized they were willing to stoop to stealing until Obito had called him up asking for help to track down two of Root's operatives who had stolen his Charmander.
His partner Pokemon. The one he’d caught himself in Professor Senju’s lab before beginning his Pokemon journey.
Kakashi didn’t waste a second in catching the next train back to Lavender town where Obito told him to meet up, and he’d made sure to call in some backup on the way just in case they needed it.
Turns out, they had definitely needed it. As soon as they headed into the Rock Tunnel where Obito said he’d seen the Root Operatives run off to, they were greeted by more than just the two that had battled Obito and promptly snatched away his Charmander.
There were at least twelve Root Operatives littering the Tunnel, and every single one of them came running when Tatsuma saw his opponents coming and called for backup.
“Give him back!” Obito screamed while Gai and Asuma tried to keep him from running straight at Tatsuma who was standing directly between him and his Charmander while some other operatives restrained the tiny fire Pokemon.
“I told you, we’ll be needing him,” Tatsuma dismissed Obito’s demand with a shrug. “We have a duty to protect Kanto and to do that we need as many Pokemon as we can get our hands on.”
“Protect Kanto?” Kakashi hissed. “There’s not a single thing you morons have ever done to protect the region, and even if that was your goal why would we leave it up to you?”
“Trusting you lot with Kanto’s safety would be the worst idea,” Asuma agreed as he held his arm around Obito’s waist and dug his heels into the ground. “Besides, stealing a trainer’s Pokemon is the exact opposite of ‘protecting’”
“Sometimes sacrifices have to be made for the greater good,” Tatsuma bit back. “Now why don’t you children run along? There are adult matters that I need to deal with.”
“We’re not leaving without Charmander,” Kakashi insisted.
“In that case, I guess we’ll have to force you to leave,” lifting his left hand, he signaled to the other operatives to spread out and quickly followed those orders. In just a second every single one of them moved from their position behind Tatsuma and created a circle around the kids, blocking them in.
“Well, this could be a problem,” Rin glanced Kakashi's way. “What do we do now?”
“Why are you asking me?”
“You’re the leader in this operation.”
“I thought Obito was the leader!?” He argued, not wanting the responsibility of getting his friends out of this placed onto his shoulders even though he knew he’d already accepted that responsibility when they called them in to help.
“Kakashi!” turning his attention to Obito, he cringed when he saw him staring at him with a stern, desperate expression in his eyes. “What do we do?”
Every single one of his friends was now staring at him, waiting for him to decide what they were going to do next. Whether he wanted to be or not, they’d selected him as the team leader and it was his responsibility to get them all out of this unscathed.
He only hoped he could manage it.
“Fine,” examining the situation, he put together and quick plan and pointed at Asuma. “You and Kurenai together against the four morons closest to you. Rin and Obito, you’ll take the four near the wall. Gai,”
“Yosh!” Pumping a fist up into the air, Gai smiled at his Hitmonlee. “Are you ready to win?”
“Hit!”
“Good,” Kakashi turned to Tatsuma and the three operatives standing around him. They were the ones that they needed to get through in order to get to Charmander. “This should be easy for us.”
“Easy?” Grabbing a Pokeball off of his hip, Tatsuma chucked it into the air. Out sprang a Sandslash that immediately squared up when Jolteon jumped out in front of Kakashi. “I’m about to teach you a lesson in manners, brat.”
“Oh sorry,” Beside him Gai snickered, far too used to Kakashi’s terrible arrogance to not know what was about to be said. “I only take lessons from talented trainers, not losers who have to steal other people’s Pokemon to buff up their own team.”
“Why, you- Sandslash use crush claw!”
Winning had been, as expected, easy.
Kakashi and Gai barely broke a sweat taking care of their opponents Pokemon and their friends seemed to be having an equally easy time in their own battles. Before long every single Root operative found themselves out of usable Pokemon.
Twelve adults versus six kids, and they’d been thoroughly defeated.
Kakashi would feel sorry for them, but they’d brought it on themselves. If they had simply given Charmander back without a fight they would have been able to keep their dignity intact.
“Now,” Jolteon returned to his side, her bright yellow fur dirty but not a single scratch on her. “Give Charmander back.”
Gripping his last Pokeball in his hand, Tatsuma growled. “You think you’re so good,” he hissed, signaling to one of the operatives standing behind him. “You win a few Pokemon battles and suddenly you’re on top of the world. Is that it?”
Feet pounded against the ground as every single operative except Tatsuma began to run, all of them heading to the south, in the direction of Lavender Town.
“Guys,” a terrible feeling settled into Kakashi’s gut. Something bad was about to happen and if they didn’t get out of there soon they were going to be trapped in it. “Get out.”
“But Kakashi-” Asuma stepped forward to argue.
“Get out, now!” He screamed, and without a second thought, every single one of them turned to run as Tatsuma chucked his Pokeball into the air.
“Voltorb!” he called out, his voice growing distant as Kakashi waved his way past rocks in a desperate attempt to make it to the exit. “Self Destruct!”
The entire cave rocked with the explosion, sending everyone crashing to the ground as pieces of the cave roof started to fall all around them. “A cave-in,” he whispered, scanning the area for his friends.
Asuma and Kurenai were safe, already helping each other up and on their way toward Rin. Beside him, Gai was halfway up with Hitmonlee’s help and Jolteon was already on her feet ready to go. The only one left was Obito.
No matter where he looked, Kakashi couldn’t find him.
He wasn’t at Rin’s side, which was where he should have been since they had fought together, and he wasn’t lying somewhere nearby recovering from his fall.
He was nowhere in sight.
“Charmander!” Rin called out, panic etched into her facial features when everyone looked her way. “Obito must have gone back for Charmander! He’s still back there!”
He’s still back there.
Looking back where they had come from, Kakashi felt his stomach drop. Tatsuma had set off a huge explosion that was causing the cave to collapse around them and Obito was still back there, surrounded by enemy trainer’s with no backup.
They’d left him behind.
“Go!” He ordered, waving his friends off as he clambered to his feet “Get out of here!”
“But, Kakashi!”
“Go!” he didn’t turn back to look at them, too afraid that he’d waste precious time that couldn’t be sacrificed. “We’ll be out! I’ll get him!”
I have to get him.
The group hadn’t gotten far before the explosion went off, but with all of the falling rubble, Kakashi felt like he was fighting to get back to another city. Every step he took was blocked off by more rubble, and even though he would have been able to see Obito from his original position before the explosion, there was too much in the way now. Beside him he could see Jolteon running, keeping pace with every step he took and effortlessly dodging the rocks that fell from the ceiling.
“Charmander!” Hearing his friend call out to his Pokemon, Kakashi weaved around a large piece of rock that had fallen in the explosion and squinted. There was dust everywhere impeding his view, but as it began to settle he finally caught sight of Obito. There, not too far in front of him, his friend sat kneeling on the ground beside a large wall of rocks. A wall that seemed to perfectly block them off from the other side of the cave. “Charmander! Just hold on I- I’ll find a way!”
Making his way toward his friend, Kakashi cringed when he saw the scene in front of him. What he had thought was a wall separating Obito from his precious Pokemon, was instead something that could only be described as a grave.
Under the rubble, there were two visible bodies, or at least what was left of their bodies.
Charmander's arm, which was clasped in Obito’s hand, and a bright red metal piece which had been crushed under the wall. If he had to take a guess, he’d say it was the Voltorb that had been instructed to cause all of this havoc.
A Pokemon who’d simply followed its trainer's orders and paid for it with its own life.
“Obito…” coming to a stop behind his friend, he cringed. The sight was worse than he could ever have imagined, and he knew without a doubt that it would be a hard thing to forget.
“I’m coming, I just have to get Charmander out,” Obito insisted, though his hands never moved to try and push the rocks away or dig out the Pokemon. “I need to save him. I promised.”
Even as the words fell from his lips, Obito continued to sit there holding Charmander's paw in his hands. His brain told him to do one thing, but his body refused to budge even as the cave continued to collapse around them.
“Obito, he-”
“He’s here,” his friend insisted, his voice cracking. “He’s right here, I just have to get him out.” If Kakashi looked at his face he was sure he’d see tears spilling down his cheeks, and for once he wouldn’t roll his eyes and tell Obito to stop being such a crybaby.
For once, Obito had every right to cry.
“Obito, we need to get out of here,” he insisted, grunting when a small rock bounced off of his shoulder. “The cave isn’t going to hold up much longer. If we don’t go now-”
“No!” Obito screamed. “No, I can’t leave him! I can’t let him-”
“He’s already gone!'' Gripping his friend's shoulder, Kakashi tried to pull him back but was instead forced to watch as Obito turned around and tackled him to the ground. His back hit the floor hard, knocking the wind right out of him as Obito sat himself down on his waist.
Jolteon jumped into action, grabbing a mouth full of the back of Obito’s shirt and tugging on it to try and get him off of Kakashi. He didn’t budge, though. He simply sat there staring down at Kakashi with angry red eyes.
“We were supposed to save him!” Obito yelled, grabbing a fist full of Kakashi’s jacket. “We came here to save him, not to…we can’t just leave him!”
Sucking in a harsh breath, Kakashi stared up at the ceiling and tried to ignore the way his throat burned. Just above Obito’s head he saw a chunk of rock breaking free from the ceiling and crashing down toward them. Without a moment’s thought or even a second to get some actual wind into his lungs, he grabbed hold of Obito’s jacket and rolled.
The crash of that large piece of rock echoed throughout the cave while Kakashi and Obito stared at the spot they had just been occupying, the fear of what could have happened to them if Kakashi hadn’t reacted twisting in their stomachs making them nauseous.
“Obito…”
“I failed,.” his friend whispered, his voice heavy with regret. “I promised Charmander I’d save him. I swore I’d get him back, but…” his eyes closed and more tears began to spill down his face. “He was my partner.”
“I know…” Kakashi didn’t want to imagine what he would do if it had been Jolteon under that rock. Some people might think they were ridiculous to care so much about their Pokemon, childish even, but Kakashi knew the bond that Obito had with his Charmander.
It was the same bond that he had with Jolteon, and Gai had with Hitmonlee. A bond of friendship that couldn’t be broken, and would never be replaced.
“Jol!” Glancing to his side, Kakashi cringed when he saw his own Partner standing there holding her left front paw up, a large scratch across the skin. He hadn’t seen what happened to her when the rock came crashing down toward them, but he knew she’d still been holding onto Obito when he began to roll away.
In trying to save all of them, he’d gone and injured Jolteon.
“We don’t have much time,” he whispered, the sound of the cave falling apart around them filling his ears. “Obito, I know it hurts. I’m sorry that we couldn’t do anything, but Charmander wouldn’t want you to stay here. He would want you to get out.”
“He would want to be here!” Obito screamed, barely moving when a Pokeball-sized rock came crashing down just a few inches beside his head. “He would want to escape with us!”
“I know,” releasing his grip on Obito’s shirt, he sat up and looked back over at where Charmander and Voltorb were now buried. Even if they wanted to there was no possibility of moving the rocks, and it wouldn’t matter anyways
There was no way either of the Pokemon had survived being crushed under all of those rocks. Most likely, and what Kakashi hoped would happen, they had died instantly. At least then they wouldn’t have had to suffer at all.
“I’m sorry, Obito,” he whispered, turning back to his friend. “But I will knock you out if I have to. We’re leaving, now!”
Not waiting for a response, he got to his feet and grabbed hold of Obito’s right arm, dragging him up with him. Once they were standing, he began to move. “Jolteon!” His partner ran up to his side, a low, pained whimper escaping its mouth as it attempted to walk on its wounded paw.
He expected resistance, but instead, there was nothing.
Obito didn’t fight, or scream, or even argue.
For the first time in their lives, Obito simply followed Kakashi without complaint.
Dodging between falling rocks, Kakashi pulled Obito along behind him and listened to Jolteon’s whimpers, never stopping for even a second until finally they passed the threshold and stepped outside.
“Kakashi!” Gai cheered, rushing forward and wrapping his arms around Kakashi’s neck for a hug. Releasing his hold on Obito’s arm, Kakashi simply lowered his head and buried his face into Gai’s shoulder without a word. “Kakashi? Are you alright?”
“What about you?” Rin asked, rushing past them and straight to Obito while Asuma and Kurenai followed close behind. “Are you injured? Did you get hit? Where is Charmander?”
A hundred questions a second, and she didn’t receive a single answer. Obito simply stood there staring at the ground, his eyes puffy and red from all the crying. Neither he nor Kakashi said a thing, and after a few moments of silence and the realization that Charmander was not with them, the crushing sadness that had already enveloped Obito and Kakashi began to spread to the others.
They’d won the fight.
Beaton the bad guys
But at the end of the day, none of them felt like a winner at all.

All the Times Hopper and Eddie Met - Headcanons
okay so i keep seeing people on tiktok making like edits of how hopper and eddie have definitely met in the past and i’d like to think that hopper remembers everything because this kid got picked up so many times for the randomest shit and became a lil tyrant at some point and hop just stopped caring lol anyways here’s this also yeah there’s steddie in this fucking fight me
word count: 1165
warnings: none, steddie if you’re homophobic
The first time Steve brings Eddie around to the Byers-Hopper household, Eddie practically hides behind Steve the entire time. They were just over for dinner, since Joyce wanted to meet Eddie properly and had been bugging Steve for months to bring him over, and Eddie had been excited about it all week so Steve was confused when he avoided the common spaces. Eddie was hitting off well enough with Jonathan and El, really got along with Will since all they talked about was D&D, but would leave a room if Hopper would walk in.
Oh.
Steve had forgotten completely that Eddie was a delinquent back in his teenage years and more than likely had run into Hopper quite a few times.
Hopper, on the other hand, was finding this more than entertaining. He knew the Munson kid well and despite the fact that he had clearly aged and matured, he wouldn’t hold back from absolutely ragging on the kid and his history with him. They had both come back from the dead, basically, so Hopper held no ill will towards Eddie anymore. He helped clear his name, after all.
So, at dinner, everyone was eating politely and complimenting Joyce on her cooking just like any normal day. Eddie was staring at his plate and would only lift his head and nod at something Steve had said before looking right back down. Hopper was staring at him the entire time, a smug look on his face that his partner definitely picked up on.
Joyce sent a swift kick to his shin under the table, making him shout in pain and look over at her with a look that said, “what the hell?” while making everyone else look over at them in confusion at the commotion.
“Stop staring at Eddie,” she told him sternly. “You’re making him feel unwelcome.”
Jim scoffed a little bit at the accusation, shrugging his shoulders. “No, I’m not,” he responded, looking over at Eddie now. “I’m just remembering all the good times we had together oh so fondly.”
Eddie groaned softly, placing his head in his hands and his elbows on the table. “Oh, here we go…”
“Elbows off the table, Eddie.”
Eddie was quick to sit up, hands in his lap. “Sorry, Ms. Byers.”
Steve leaned towards his boyfriend, a shit-eating grin on his face as he stared at him. “What good times, dear Edward? Care to explain?”
Eddie shook his head vehemently, pretending to zip his mouth shut and throw away the key. Hopper stood up when Eddie refused to explain, slapping the kid on the shoulder. Eddie yelped, not because of pain but because of the surprise he got, before his eyes widened in mortification as he stared at Hopper. “You wouldn’t,” he said in a low voice.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” Hopper laughed as Eddie groaned loudly, putting his head back in hands. “Who’s ready for a story or two?”
When the reception he received was positive, that began a long but hilarious detailed list of every single encounter Deputy Jim Hopper and a young Eddie Munson had. They are as follows:
• In 1976, shortly after Eddie’s 11th birthday, Hopper was called to the Munson residence when Wayne found Eddie had run away from home. It had been not only one month after Eddie’s deadbeat father had left him at Wayne’s so he was going through a rebellious phase. Hopper had found the kid trying to climb the bell tower in the middle of town. Eddie had claimed he wanted a better view of Hawkins if he was gonna live there forever. Eddie called it a shithole. Hopper didn’t disagree.
• In July of 1978, Eddie was picked up outside Melvald’s General Store. He stole an ice cream bar from the little freezer and Joyce, being as nice as she is, decided to call Hop personally at home to take the kid home.
• In 1981, Eddie broke into Hawkins Middle School for shits and giggles despite having been in high school already and was found spray painting the words “Old Hag” on the chalkboard of the teacher that he hated the absolute most. Hopper took him in that time, since the kid technically committed breaking and entering.
• In 1983, just after Will Byers went missing, Eddie was picked up on the road leading up to the Quarry. Ever the conspiracy theorist, he wasn’t convinced that the body found was Will’s and was found poking around for “clues”. Hopper gave him hell since he could potentially be tampering with a crime scene, but let him go with a warning. Hopper had his suspicions too, after all.
• In 1984, he was caught trying to break into an arcade machine to steal their quarters for whatever reason. That was also the first time he ran from Hopper, throwing quarters behind him the entire time he was being chased to get ahead or something.
• Also in 1984, he was caught sneaking into the construction grounds of Starcourt Mall. He wanted to be the first person to ever set foot in the brand new business, despite not technically being the first person to set foot in the brand new business. Hopper had been working security on the building that night. The second Eddie spotted him, he just turned and ran off shouting, “Goddamn it! Every time!”
• In 1985, after Starcourt opened to the public, several businesses in the mall reported Eddie to the police for being a little nuisance. Being the dramatic little shit he is, he would do anything to annoy the patrons of the mall: steal food from randoms in the food court, hide in the clothing racks with his friends and scare employees, and even tried to get into the back of Scoops Ahoy to get “the fresh shit”. Robin and Steve tried to convince their boss not to call Hopper but y’know, that didn’t work. Eddie would just outrun Hopper whenever he ever did end up coming to kick him out of the mall, throwing random shoppers into the Chief’s path to get away.
• Also some pick-ups for drug possession, but Eddie would always get away midway through being cuffed. He even stole a pair of handcuffs while bolting. Hopper never pursued, as he just didn’t care about drug charges too much.
At the end of Hopper’s stories, everyone was howling with laughter while Eddie’s face was beet red with embarrassment. He had a smile on his face, however, as he was just so glad to see the man that he swore hated him share those stories so fondly. Steve wiped away his tears from laughing so hard, still chuckling as he took his boyfriend’s hand and gave it a supportive squeeze.
“You know what, Eddie,” Joyce spoke up, a smile on her face that made her cheeks hurt from all the laughing they had done. “I oughta thank you. I think you’re the one who kept Hop as limber as he is. Kept his fat ass in shape!”
“Joyce!”

Hold Me Like a Grudge
Summary: Ted Sankpoffski Holds A Grudge Against Stephanie Lauter For What She Had to Do In Cool As I Think I Am reprise
CW: Spoilers for NPMD and mentions of what Steph having to do in the moments after the summoning and during In Cool As I Think I Am reprise and mentions of canon things and spoilers for nightmare time 1 Time Bastard(kinda) Ted and Steph get into a argument
Master List
Credit 1:The idea was given to me by @veeicecream screenshot at the end of this post to see the idea
Credit 2:I took the white streak idea from @capriciouslyterminal with permission of corse
Credit 3: To me my idea of Duke Keane and Miss Holloway taking in Steph and teaching her how to bake and Steph working at mode Retro’s which is getting its own fic soon which is a technical part one of this story that on how Holloway and Duke took in Steph
remember requests are open and I evey so often rp if anyone wants to and I’m always looking for proofreaders if you are interested DM me if I messed up anywhere let me know the prequel to this coming at some point this took me long enough as it is lol I suck at endings lol
Ted Spankoffski was acutely aware of Eldrich away’s of the boring town of Hatchetfield, How couldn’t he when the local homeless man looked exactly like him but 50 years older than him and Pete, and how during the honey festival anyone crowned Honey Queen goes missing afterward even if there was reasoning to why the Honey Queen was no longer there in Hatchetfield. Or how so many people go missing every day and how most of the people in town seemed to always have a case of mass hysteria and blame each other like they were in a trial in a courtroom.
For example, in the recent murders of three Hatchetfield High students two out of three were Pete’s best friends Richie Lipschitz and Ruth Fleming and the third was Maxwell Jägerman Pete’s bully for years now since the fourth grade which from what Ted had seen for two weeks Pete seemed happier after Max went missing. Pete was even talking about Stephaine Lauter the mayor’s daughter and how she thought he was funny he even changed his outfit which was a tapestry of his trauma he dropped the bow tie and suspenders for her.
Ted approved of the new outfit maybe that was because he gave Pete the sweater a while back even if it didn’t follow the idea of picking an outfit and sticking with but, but sometimes change is good. Though he never moved on from Jenny he didn’t know where she was at all but where Jenny was he hoped she was safe.
Speaking of being safe Ted sat in his apartment with his head in his hands in disbelief across him was his younger brother Pete was talking to him about some eldrich beings called The Lords In Black and Max Jägerman coming back from the dead which Ted didn’t know what to believe but he was wanting to hear him out. “After we went to the school which is one of many of the black alters and with the black book to summon The Lord’s In Black and the only way we could stop Max. Was one of us had to give up what we Cherish Above All Else,” Pete started as he looked at Ted whose head was still in his hands.
“And for a moment Steph was the one to do it from what one of them said she was lying to herself about what it was before one of them told Steph that,” Pete paused for a moment as he started to quote Wiggog Y'Wrath while trying his best to copy his voice “You can lie to yourself but not to me, think about it” after quoting Wiggog Y'Wrath Pete did his normal voice as he continued to tell Ted the whole story “When Steph Realized what he meant one of The Lords in Black had his hand on my hair said something like ‘ah their he is’ that had me confused until I realized myself what he meant, which let me tell you having an eldrich being touch you is fucking terrifying. That thing even left a white streak in my hair which I honestly don’t know how to feel about it but Steph said she likes it and thinks it cool so that means that it has to be cool if she thinks then it must be,” Pete said trailing off topic for a moment.
Ted was about to say something when Pete got back on topic and continued to speak “The whole time before and after Maylor Lauter brought us to the witchwood to get the black book Steph had a gun on her,” when Ted heard mention of a gun he looked up at Pete and cut him off to say “A fucking are you Serious Pete, Please don’t tell me this is going where I think is going.”
To which the teen gave his brother a look and nodded his head and continued to speak before Ted could speak again
“We didn’t have a choice at that moment, Ted it was either I die or the whole damn world did and I wanted to be cool this time and take the bullet, Ted don’t be mad at Steph she didn’t have a choice as I said and I’m still alive because of Max stopping the bullet and Grace having sex with a fucking ghost.”
Ted had a Scowl on his face hearing that Stephanie Lauter the former Mayor’s daughter almost Sacrificed his younger brother screw the fact the world would have been doomed because of his living. Ted couldn’t even think of being i n a world without his nerdy little brother in it
“No Pete I think I will be mad at her hell I'm even holding a grudge against her she got you in trouble for cheating and she’s the reason Max beat you up and she almost fucking killed you and you expect me not to be mad or hold a grudge then you’re damn wrong Pete” Ted looking at Pete Scowl still on his face but it wasn’t directed towards Pete at all. Pete just sighed “I understand where you’re coming from Ted but we didn’t have a choice and I hope you know Steph would never hurt me on purpose and I hope someday you’ll understand that Ted.” With that, the Conversation between the brothers ended.
Over the course of a week after learning Stephaine had almost killed Pete, anytime Steph came over to Ted’s apartment to hang out with Pete she notched the looks Ted threw her way and the snide remarks that she got thrown her way from the elder Spankoffski. Though the remarks were never as harmful as her Father's were Ted was a sleazeball with a grudge but he was respectful to her he heard from Pete by accident what Solomon was like to her and he wouldn’t insult her too badly but he isn’t above being an asshole.
Eventually, the next time Steph came over was after she made brownies with Duke Keane and Miss. Holloway in Miss Retro’s.She had even brought hot chocolate that she also made at Miss Retro’s for Pete she’d rather make it herself or buy it from Starbucks.
Don’t get Steph wrong she’s all for supporting small businesses, But seeing as at Beanies they take forever for getting the order and spit into the drinks in general or if you’re a tad bit rude about not getting your order. Steph will always remember how Pete yelled in Beanies about not getting his hot coffee and how the barista spits in it she’d rather not get it from there.
But she also always liked Miss. Retro’s better because of how understanding and nice Miss. Holloway was to people than the baristas at Beanies were. Maybe she was a little biased on that account of liking Miss. Retro’s because she’s working there until she graduates and gets back on her feet. But that’s another story for another day.
The next time Steph came over was with brownies and hot chocolate like I said before was made with Miss. Holloway and Duke. So when she got to the apartment she knocked on the door and waited for it to open which it did but instead of Pete it was Ted “Hey Spankoffski senior I brought brownies and hot chocolate for Pete can I come in because it’s freezing out here” it was late October which was starting to get colder out.
Ted rolled his eyes and said “Sure come in sycophant make yourself at home and I’m not that old I’m 35 ” Ted muttered and then yelled “Pete your girlfriend’s here with a few things” After a second of Ted’s glaring at her Pete came out of his room and smiled wide at Steph.
“Hey,” Pete said starting to talk as he walked over to Steph “Steph you didn’t have to bring me anything at all” Steph smiled “Well Pete I did anyways plus Miss. Retro helped me make these” Stephanie said lifting her hand that had a dessert box with Miss—Retro’s Dinner logo on it.
“I also made you hot chocolate because I’d rather not give you a drink that the crappy barista at Beanies spits in,” Steph said Ted despite the fact he has a grudge against her agreed with Stephanie on that fact. He knew Emma was crabby he’d seen it himself and yet how co-worker and friend Paul liked her.
Steph gave Pete his hot Chocolate that wasn’t hot or cold it was warm which was just right to drink and Pete wouldn’t have to wait to drink it. After Pete Took the hot chocolate Steph handed him the brownies and he went to put the brownies in the kitchen.
Stephanie in general had enough of Ted’s snide remarks toward her Stephanie decided to confront him upfront about it when Pete wasn’t close enough to hear so she took the chance to confront Ted here and now. So she took the chance to speak to Ted
“I have a question Ted what the fuck did I ever do to you Ted to make you hate me enough to make snide remarks around me” Steph looked him in the eyes as she spoke “Because whatever I did please tell me so we can get over this whole irksome indifferent’s.”
Ted looks back at Steph and lets out a harsh sigh “Alright i will we’re do I start you almost shot Pete and then acted like it’s nothing and causing nothing but trouble for Pete since you started to talk like how you caused him to get beaten,” Ted continues as he stares at Stephanie done
“And even summoned fucking Eldredge beings called the lords in black and one of them touched him which caused a white streak in his hair” Ted wasn’t going to hold back on what he was saying as he continued to speak. Steph looked at him with a sight shocked expression realizing what this was all about the snide remarks and comments that were aimed towards her.
It took her a moment to speak “Is that what this is about?” Steph said her brows furrowed as she looked at Ted a be it a little hurt “Yes that is what all of this is about Stephanie you act so alienating yourself from showing how you feel,”
“It seems like you don’t give a damn about shooting at my brother to save the whole damn world, and not because of you he only lived because of fucking Grace Chasity of all people.” Ted’s tone was one of anger and indifference towards Steph as the scowl Ted tended to get when angered or annoyed was etched onto his face.
Steph raised a brow and asked “Really? Is that why you hate me honestly I don’t blame you for that I don’t, but you know it was an impossible situation, you know there wasn't a lot of options, so what do you want from me!” Stephanie’s tone was a defensive one.
Ted took a breath and admitted “Yeah there weren't many options, but that's my baby brother, that's all I have And I almost lost him and I never would have known why. It isn't logical or rational to be pissed because I am.”
Ted and Steph sat in silence ending the conversation and the silence tension went painfully slow for a moment before it dawned on the two of them that Pete hadn’t come back yet from putting the hot chocolate on the counter that Steph brought for him. Almost as if it was on queue the sound of something dropping alerted both Steph and Ted.
Steph quickly got up and rushed to the kitchen beating Ted there before he could. Where the sound came from was from the kitchen Ted followed after to check on Pete in case he passed out from low blood sugar.
When Steph rushed into the Kitchen she saw Pete drop one of the hot chocolates she brought. Pete was panicking and Steph’s brows furrowed in concern “Pete? Are you okay can you hear me?” Steph asks knowing that he isn’t good but she thinks she might as well ask him.
Through panicked breaths, Pete looked up at Steph “Steph?” Pete asks his eyesight blurred by tears “Yeah Pete it’s me I’m going to need you to breathe with me okay can you do that?” Steph asks walking to Pete.
Pete nods as he feels Steph put a hand on his shoulder as she tells him to take a deep breath in which he does and then out. After awhile Pete is a bit more calm as Steph tells him to do ‘54321’ he starts to list enter off. “Hey how about we get you into the living room for you to have a seat would you like Pete?” Pete nods as Steph takes his hand and starts to walk back to the living room.
Ted seeing them move steps out of the way side eyeing Steph but with a less aggressive more softened seeing how She handles Pete with such care and compassion. This causes him a moment of trying to fathom how Steph was willing to shoot at Pete but seeing the caring and loving expression with care and understanding for Pete the look she held when she looked at Pete.
It reminded him of Jenny and himself. especially when Jenny did the same thing for him when he had a panic attack in college. He loved Jenny more than a friend but he never got to tell her seeing as she moved to Clivesdale before he got to. The more Ted stared at both Steph and Pete as they talked Pete seemed more calm than he was before.
As the time bastard watches the pare he starts to realize he missed judged Steph. Ted knows that if he had to shoot Jenny to save the world he’d would be especially to keep Pete safe. As he came to that realization he felt bad but he wouldn’t say it out loud at least not right now not in front of Pete.
Ted noticed Steph looked over at him her brows furrowed in confusion trying to pin out why Ted was staring. When he noticed Ted’s gaze had softened more he gave Steph a nod of approval and a scent promise that they’d talk about this later. When Steph got the nod of approval from Ted she had a small smile forming on her face.
Despite the irksome indifference that is sightly still there between Stephanie and Ted at the end of the day the two of them care for each other. Even if Ted still holds the grudge he has towards Stephanie it’s now softened as he slowly understands why she had to nearly sacrifice Pete for the sake of the world.

Mysterious
It was supposed to be longer but the final word count was 666 and i couldn't ruin that lol
The lovely Rose Coldwell is @raincoffeeandfandoms blorbo from her brain.
They could solve this mystery with a snap of their fingers and yet both guess who the mysterious Mr. Coldwell is as the day of the masquerade ball rolls around.
Tommy had hit it off with Rose Coldwell when they met at 10 Downing Street. Both on their first days of their job, both relieved neither one was romantically nor sexually interested in the other.
They agreed on policy, they were in the same party and both fucking hated the same people.
A perfect friendship made even more perfect when she hit it off with Eva at a tea hosted by Ishbel MacDonald. Sure, Eva had accidentally turned her tea into her favorite expensive Cuban rum, but both women were as thick as thieves now.
“Do you think he’s ugly? Beautiful women always get with ugly men.” Eva says and he is shocked she’d say that.
Not because Eva would think she was unattractive, film stars would kill to look like her, but because she’d imply, he was the unattractive one in the equation.
“You say that as if you didn’t almost kill the last woman who made a pass at me, Evie.” Tommy was not full of himself; he is just aware of the effect he has on women and homosexuals.
“Oh, I didn’t mean us, honey. We are the exception.” The witch amended and he snorted.
It is then that they see the man on her arm.
Even with the half mask he wears, he knows that fucker anywhere.
Alfred fucking Solomons.
The man he shot and who’s dog he stole.
He was the mysterious Mr. Coldwell.
“Ah the elusive Mrs. Solomons then.” Eva doesn’t take the reveal as badly as he does. “I suppose the universe had to uneven the scales for them, can’t have too many exceptions for that rule.”
Rose is going to murder him.
Rose had been plagued with night terrors of the man who nearly killed Alfie a year ago.
She hadn’t seen his face, nor would her husband tell her his name, but this man had to be connected to the Shelbys. After all Alfie had run afoul of them when the Changrettas came to fulfill their vendetta.
This is where Thomas Shelby MP OBE came in, he’d hand over the man on a silver platter and return Cyril for good measure.
They got along fine, he was pleasant when he wanted to be and after meeting his family, there was no way it could ever go wrong.
“You didn’t have to come.” Rose knows Alfie hated these events and liked the aura of mystery surrounding his existence.
Most were aware she had a husband, that he was Jewish and from Camden Town as well.
Most believed he was Mr. Coldwell and not that she was Mrs. Solomons.
“I couldn’t miss this one for the world, love.” He had said as he affixed the white mask that covers his scars perfectly before their car came to a stop.
Tommy looks like he’s seen a ghost when he sees the man on her arm.
Of course, they’d know each other, their gangs have fought and collaborated with each other since 1922.
“Wasn’t enough you left me for dead, you had to steal me fucking dog too?” Alfie smirked as Shelby stood there still as a statue.
The man she called her friend was the same monster from her nightmares. Thomas fucking Shelby was the man who tried to murder her husband.
Rose’s instinct says violence and yet she cannot make her fist move.
“I wouldn’t try that, if I were you.” Eva warns with a tone as smooth as silk and the corner of her bloody mouth twitched upward like a smirk. “Did he tell you why Tommy shot him? What made him so angry he’d actually try to murder him?
If it weren’t for Frida, we’d all be dead.”
Despite this, the Solomons-Coldwell couple are the last to leave Arrow House.
They couldn’t leave without Cyril after all.
