Ongoing Series - Thai

Last Twilight (Fri YT) ep 5 of 12 -  I love how they’re slowly revealing bits of their past to each other. It parallels the slow burn of them falling in love with each other. Knowledge + understanding = affection. I cried during the part with his doubles partner, of course I did. As has been mentioned many times in this blog, I am a sap. Also I’m realizing that there is something particularly clever about this show: Because Day is blind, there must be a ton of physical touch. And physical touch is something that Thai BL does really well. 

(I gotta say, while I ADORE JimmySea in these roles, a small part of me wonders how JoongDunk would have handled these parts.)

The Sign (Sat YT) ep 3 of 10 - Phaya is SO DAMN SMITTEN. It’s great. Have I mentioned recently how glad I am Billy got this role? This was the: “it’s not a date” date ep. 

I gotta say these 2 BLs are neck and neck favorites right now.

Cherry Magic (Sat YouTube) ep 1 of 12 - Uh oh. I like it a lot. I think I was always going to because I have a soft spot for TayNew on screen. It is such funny to watch Tay play such a stiff character. I like it. This is very fast paced for a Thai BL I wonder where they’ll take it with this speed, are they’ll following the manga more closely? 

My Dear Gangster Oppa (Thurs iQIYI) ep 7 of 8 - Wait, no. Wahl you’re such a problem. The pacing of this is very KBL. I’m not mad about it but it feels odd in Thai. Still enjoying this one the most as my "early in the week" offering.

For Him (Thurs iQIYI) ep 2 of 10 - The booty call flirting is next level with these two. Like Bed Friends but with less pain. I love that Nail is such needy evil wild child - the story gets all its tension from that.

Baby boy gives off so many danger signals I wouldn't tap that with a 10 ft… pole. Him is a braver queer than I. I do like how the high heat is being used to drive the story. It stands in stark contrast to Playboyy. Which is using high heat to drive, well... piles apparently.

Twins the series (Fri GaGa) ep 6 of 10 - I'm enjoying it again, the main couple is getting more BLish. 

Bake Me Please (Mon Gaga) ep 3 of 6 - Shin and Peach flirting is very cute. Although they got into that sack swiftly. Guy leaving was contrived and reactions overwrought but okay babies. 

Absolute Zero (Weds iQIYI) ep 11 of 12 - Now I'm mostly just confused.

Which timeline are we in?

Do they know each other in this one's past or not?

Have they met yet?

Who has which memories of what?

I feel like I’ve been through a lot for the show.

I’m not saying the reunion scene in the theater was worth it, but it was a really spectacular reunion scene. I’m terrified that there’s one more episode. I wish it had ended here.

That was a kind (and kind of lovely) coming out sequence. KingUea being the worst best Gay Advice Dads is awesome. Mai is SO SWEET. And we end on some good old miscommunication / misinterpretation, so that Jade can behave in an even more unhinged manner next ep. Our brief respite from absurdity has ended. 

My Universe (Sun iQIYI) Fake Love ep 16 of 24 - They cute fake bf but it’s oddly unappealing. I mean most us queers have slept with each others exes, that’s swimming in a small pool, for ya. In my experience, only hets get butt hurt about it. (Hets never use enoug lube, they butt hurt about everything.) So the whole drama just felt confusing to me. Or maybe that's just my experience with swimming in lube? 4/10 whatever... not recommended

Playboyy (Thurs Gaga) 4 of 14 eps - I’m seriously considering dropping this.

VIP Only (Taiwan Fri Gaga) ep 4 of 10 - They cute. Are aquariums now gay? That’s not the definition of fish that I grew up with. 

Sahara-sensei to Toki-kun (Japan Fri Gaga) ep 2 of 8 - I'm suffering from terrible second lead syndrome. Glasses guy is new Best Boy. Also, Rise is trying to earn the Namgoong Award for Best Wingman.

SHADOW (Thai Gaga) 14 eps - completed it's run. Reports are:

It's pretty good horror but not BL. Ending is unresolved.

It's Airing But...

Behind the Shadows (Korea movie) - a historical I'm interested in (if it's BL) but have no idea how to find.

The Whisperer (Sun ????) 10 eps - Thai horror BL that ALSO involves cheating (what joy is mine). I don't think even the perfect single dimple can motivate me to watch. Word is... it's terrible.

7 Days Before Valentine (Weds WeTV) 10 eps - Giving me Luminous Solution vibes. I'm waiting to binge if it's safe.

Beyond The Star (Weds iQIYI) 8 eps - House of Stars meets Boyband. I was NOT impressed with ep 1. Been told I shouldn't bother.

What Did You Eat Yesterday Season 2 AKA Kinou Nani Tabeta? Season 2 (Japan Gaga) 10 eps - I find this series more fun to binge, so I'm waiting until after it completes its run next week.

“Psst.” Half-asleep, Danny doesn’t respond. That is until Sam sends a swift kick to his shin, effectively waking him up as he rubs his leg in annoyance.

“The fuck was that for?” He hisses back, considering kicking him as payback.

“You wanna smoke? I brought cigarettes.”

“Well since you’ve woken me up, yes.”

“Amazing.” He sees the dark outline of Sam wiggle out of his sleeping bag, fumbling for his things in the dark before unzipping the tent quietly. Danny follows him, seeing why he was trying to make as little noise as possible as Sam points at the twin’s tent, bringing his finger to his mouth in a shushing motion as he tiptoes past it. He leads him through the woods in the dark, his hand automatically reaching behind him to find Danny’s so as to not lose him at each turn he took.

They finally come to a stop on a small rocky outcropping of the mountain, the trees sparse around them allowing them to look up at the stars above them. “Wow.” Danny comments half to himself, his jaw dropped in wonder. “I forget how many stars there are without the city lights. The sky’s never this clear.”

“I bet.” Sam snorts as he pulls a cigarette out, lighting it and taking a drag before passing it over to Danny. “When was the last time you saw the night sky like this?”

“The night before I left, with you.” His answer comes before he can think about it, a sour taste coming to his mouth at the reminder that he quickly remedies by taking a drag. Change the subject. “So, why’d you ask me to come smoke with you without the twins?”

“’Cause they’re little cigarette gremlins. Snatched half my pack the last time they visited. Jake’s not supposed to smoke anymore but he always insists on a drunk cigarette. Says it doesn’t count.”

Danny snorts, remembering how Austin made Josh switch to vapes as he couldn’t stand the smell of cigarettes. “Right, right.”

“So, New York. You like it there?”

Danny takes another drag as Sam passes the cigarette back to him, trying not to focus on why they were sharing one instead of him lighting two. “It’s loud, it’s dirty, I’ve almost gotten mugged a few times, and trying to drive anywhere is impossible. But, yes, I am. It’s home now. Josh is a great roommate and I like NYU, couldn’t ask for anything else.” But you could. You want to. You’ve wanted something more for as long as you can remember.

“That’s great, I’m happy for you.” Sam pauses, hoping his change in subject wouldn’t be too noticeable or out of place. “You mention Josh and Austin a lot but is there anyone else in New York with you? Any other friends or… girlfriends?”

“God, you sound just like my mom.” Why does he care? Why did he say it… like that? “No, I don’t. Why do you ask?”

“Just curious. We’re catching up, this is the shit people talk about when they catch up.” Sam shrugs, tearing his gaze away from Danny’s moonlit figure to flick the ash off the tip of the cigarette. “None of the girls there your type or what?”

“I don’t like girls, Sam.” Danny’s answer is short, rushed as if he wanted to spit it out and be done with the conversation, worry brewing in the pit of his stomach at Sam’s reaction.

“Oh- none of the guys there your type, then?”

Danny blinks back at him, surprised at how casually he had taken the information. “Uh, no, more like just haven’t met the right person yet.” I have, he’s just not in New York. Danny clears his throat, trying to rip his mind away from Sam. “Thanks for uh, being so chill by the way. Not freaking out and everything.”

“Danny, I don’t care that you’re gay. I’ve known for years. I’d be a hypocrite if I had an issue with it.”

“Wait, are you- are you gay too?” So, his reaction to me kissing him wasn’t because he’s not into men, just because he’s not into me. Great.

“Bi technically, but yes, I like men too. Although the Frankenmuth queer dating pool is pretty shit.”

“So, you’re not seeing anyone right now, then? Or do you have a girlfriend?”

“Nope.” Sam pops the “p” before looking back at Danny. “Single as can be right now. Haven’t dated anyone seriously since high school.”

Danny’s eyebrows shoot up in surprise, remembering the last person he dated. “Beatrice? Seriously? That’s your last relationship?”

Sam brings his hand to his forehead absentmindedly, the end of the cigarette burning dangerously close to his hair. “Please, please don’t remind me. She was fucking crazy.”

“Oh? What happened with that? You just told me that you broke up, not why.”

“She called you a faggot. Didn’t like how much time I spent with you.”

Oh. “Oh.”

“Yeah. That wasn’t all though. She was too obsessive over our relationship, like to an unhealthy point. Cut all her friends off that she’d had since middle school to ‘focus on our relationship’. Ended up cheating on me in the end though.”

“Oh shit- I’m sorry, Sammy.”

“Na, don’t be. Getting out of that relationship was the best thing I’ve ever done. I’d take being single for years over still being with her.”

“So why haven’t you dated anyone since? Frankenmuth girls and guys not your type?” Danny shoots the comment back at him, offering a small smile.

“That’s not it. I don’t know, maybe I’m not made for relationships.”

“Why do you say that?”

Sam looks down at the rock below him, tracing the lines and cracks with his finger. “It never ends well. They always get hurt, even Beatrice, she was devastated when I broke up with her even though she was the issue. Maybe loving me is dangerous, I don’t know. I think I’m just bad luck.”

“You’re not bad luck, I’m sure you’ll find someone, Sammy.” Danny reaches out to place his hand on his shoulder, offering a light squeeze. “Just maybe not in Frankenmuth.”

“God, I thought you had dropped the trying to get me to come to New York with you.” His voice is laced with annoyance as he shakes his head, focusing on the sky above them.

“I don’t mean New York. Just anywhere but here. Don’t you want to get out, Sam?” Danny swears he can see the moonlight reflecting off tears in his eyes as he shakes his head, dropping it to face the ground, hiding his expression in the shadows.

“I can’t.”

“Why not?”

“It’s too late, Danny. I didn’t leave when I was 18 and now I’m stuck here.”

“You’re 21!” Danny stops himself as he hears his voice raise, not wanting to snap back at Sam over his frustration. “You’re only 21, you can still get out. It’s never too late.”

“Why do you want me to leave Frankenmuth, huh? Why do you want me to leave so bad?” His tone is sharp as he looks back at Danny, anger beginning to flash across his face.

“I just want you to be happy, Sammy. That’s all I’ve ever wanted.” Just like that, Sam’s anger is gone, his expression dropping as the sentiment hits him.

“I am happy.”

“I know you, and I know that you could be happier.”

Realizing that their cigarette had burnt out, he presses the tip to the rock beneath him just to make sure before putting it back in the box, not wanting to litter. “It’s getting late, we should probably get back to the camp before we fall asleep out here.” He offers Danny a small smile before standing up, holding his hand out to pull him up.

“Uh, yeah, you’re right. Thanks.” Why does he keep refusing to leave? What is he so afraid of?

Being woken up by the rustling of the twins outside their tent, their voices much louder than they needed to be, Danny squints against the morning light filtering through the canvas, squeezing his eyes closed. Relaxing back into the warmth of his sleeping bag, his eyes suddenly fly open as he realizes his arms were wrapped completely around Sam, his back to Danny’s chest with their legs tangled as best they could in their separate sleeping bags. His heart rate only further increases as he feels Sam’s arms wrapped around his forearm, hugging it to his chest as his breath lightly grazes his skin.

Just relax. Don’t. Fucking. Freak out. If you do and he wakes up, it’ll just be weird for both of us. Should I try to get my arms back? No, that could wake him up. Just go back to sleep, and if he asks about it, just say you didn’t realize it because you were asleep.

Danny squeezes his eyes shut again, begging his body to fall back asleep so he wouldn’t have to deal with Sam waking up to him originally unintentionally cuddling him.

“RISE AND SHINE MOTHERFUCKERS, WE’VE LET YOU SLEEP LONG ENOUGH!” Danny nearly jumps out of his sleeping bag at the clamor of Josh’s yell as he bangs a wooden spoon against the bottom of a pot, effectively waking both Danny and Sam. “Good morning starshine, the earth says ‘hello’!” Josh crouches in front of the unzipped tent door with a grin plastered on his face as Sam and Danny recover from how suddenly they were ripped from sleep.

Sam blindly searches for something to throw at his brother, his hand landing on one of his Birkenstocks before he launches it across the small tent, just nearly missing Josh’s head. “Missed me, bitch. Now get up, it’s half past noon. We got shit to do today so let’s get crackin’!” He stands, making his way over to the firepit as Sam and Danny stumble out of the tent, stretching their sore limbs as they try to fully wake up.

“Isn’t this supposed to be a vacation?” Sam protests, already reaching for their French press filled with steaming coffee.

“You act like you’ve never been camping with us, Sammy.” Jake shoots back with a grin. “C’mon, both of you eat fast, we’re going to that small lake on the other side of the property to swim today.”

As Sam pours a cup of coffee for Danny, he grumbles a snide comment under his breath as he hands it to him, setting in on pouring some into his own thermos. “More like a glorified pond.”

“Awwww, did poor Sammy wake up on the wrong side of the tent?”

“Shut the fuck up, Josh. I think my sleeping bag was on top of a rock or something, my back’s all twisted up.”

Danny’s face heats, knowing exactly what Sam had been sleeping on top of all night, deciding to hide his face by taking a long drink from his thermos. First goddamn day and I’m already fucked. I wonder if Jake or Josh would swap tents with me. Yeah, right. That’s not suspicious at all.

“See, wasn’t the hike worth it, Sam?” Josh grins over at his brother as the group stands at the edge of the lake, sweaty from the hike as the sun hits their skin in the open clearing.

“Yeah, yeah ok. I’m sorry I complained so much. It was worth it.” He rolls his eyes, hiding his smile from the others to look for a spot to set his things. The twins are already ahead of him, dropping their bags and throwing their shoes and shirts off as they sprint into the water before Sam can even set his own bag down.

“Jesus Christ. It’s surprising that they’re the oldest ones here.” Sam comments, his stomach flipping as Danny laughs at the remark. As Danny sets his things down with his back to him, Sam lets himself watch as he bends over to untie his shoes, his purple swim shorts tightening against his muscles. Pull yourself together, fuck. Sam rips his eyes away just as Danny turns back to him, annoyance written across his features.

“Hey, I think I forgot my hair tie back at the camp, got a spare?”

“Yep.” Sam holds his arm up, showing the other man the three hair ties around his wrist. “That’s actually a good idea, let me braid my hair then I can do yours.”

“You don’t have to, Sammy. I can just put it in a bun or something.”

“Nonsense.” Sam waves his free hand in the air as if he were shooing the comment away, his other hand already occupied with parting his hair down the middle. “It’ll come out and get all tangled. I don’t mind and it shouldn’t take too long.”

“Alright…” Danny smiles sheepishly as Sam sets in on quickly twisting his hair into two neat French braids, occupying himself with undressing and unpacking part of his bag while he waits.

“Done. Your turn Danny boy.” Danny shakes his head at the nickname as he makes his way over to Sam, stopping in front of him and turning to give him access to his already tangled mess of hair. “You’re too tall, I won’t be able to see what I’m doing.”

“Maybe you’re too short, Kiszka.”

“Do you want my help or not?”

“I do!” Desperate much? “I do. Please and thank you.”

“That’s what I thought.” Sam shoots him a self-satisfied smirk as Danny turns to face him before making his way over to a small boulder. “Sit.”

Danny’s cheeks tint pink at the command, following it nonetheless as Sam moves around it to stand behind him. He tries to control his spiraling thoughts as he feels Sam’s fingers tangle in his hair, gently brushing the knots out before starting on the French braid. Whatever you do. Do. Not. Think about his tiny ass swim shorts. The last thing I need right now is to get hard in these fucking shorts. My boxers would be less revealing.

“Done.” Danny’s pulled from his thoughts at Sam’s word, his hand moving back to feel the neat braid down the center of his head as Sam sheds his shirt. “Last one in’s a rotten egg.” Before Danny can comprehend his words, Sam takes off, sprinting down the small beach as fast as he can. He reaches the water before Danny even has the chance to stand, watching him splash into the lake without so much as a glance back.

He has no right to look that good doing something so stupid. Finally standing, Danny jogs towards the water as Sam shouts his victory. “I win!” He grins back at Danny when he finally reaches him, both men treading water as the lake bottom drops off below their feet.

“You cheated.” Danny shoots back.

“Did not. You’re just not fast enough. Anyways, I think that means I get a prize.”

“Yeah right, and what do you think you get?”

“I’ll let you know when I figure it out.” He winks at Danny before disappearing into the water, popping up a few seconds later next to Jake and Josh 15 feet from him.

Paul in the Basement

So I was just thinking about how all this shit is going down in BSD right now. Like Bram dying, Fyodor creating a Tripolar singularity, Sigma swimming through Fyodor's memories, Fukuchi maybe dying, etc. And as I was rewatching the Stormbringer Stage Play(absolute masterpiece btw you should go watch it if you haven't yet) and they were talking about how only a singularity can defeat another singularity( ex: Arahabaki(Chuuya) defeating Guivre(Paul)) and this brought about a thought. Since it's a tripolar singularity, would we need three singularities to defeat it? Like would Chuuya and/or Paul not be enough to stop it? And if so, who is going to become the third singularity? Will Dazai have to use his ability on himself like he did in BSD Beast? Not to mention the fact that Chuuya and Dazai( and Sigma) are in France right now. So all we have to work with back in Japan are Shin Soukoku (Akutagawa is still a vampire, and we aren't sure if Fyodor inherited Bram's powers) and Paul( who is still in his fucking basement crying over Arthur, like I know you're a sad little dramatic French gay man, but still IM PRETTY SURE THIS IS THE STORM YOU'RE WAITING FOR NGL). a/n : this is my first dead boy detective oneshot and I’m so excited!!! This show has quickly become one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy!!😊

Niko x fem!reader x Crystal

You never imagined you fall in love with a human, nonetheless two human girls. They’d found you during there case on Angie the Angelfish. Initially the dead boy detectives believed that you, the only mermaid that resided in the mermaid lagoon that connected to the sea were to blame.

They had quickly captured you in an enchanted net and questioned you rather sharply. Unfortunately for them you had an alibi, you had been entertaining a group of Port Townsan’s children after they found your Lagoon.

Fortunately for the dead boys you were kind enough to help them with there problem, especially because many of the children you knew would be going to the kite festival. As you helped you bonded rather quickly with the white haired girl, Niko Sasaki.

She was sweet and so bubbly. She always asked you questions about your lagoon, your tail, how your hair was always dry. Her girlfriend however didn’t seem to like you every much. She was always moving away when you came close. After Charles threw the Nightnurse off the cliff you thought they would no longer need you.

But Edwin, the very tall and pale dead boy insisted that you remain with them just in case they had any need of a mermaid. Niko let you move into her room above the tongue and tail shop.

It’s often you don’t sleep at night, to many nightmare waiting to happen. Mermaids don’t exactly need a lot of sleep anyways. On one of the many nights you stand on the roof you find Crystal there. Her eyes red and puffy, her hands shaking gently.

She obviously did see you, or hear you. Slowly you approached her, placing your own incredible soft hand on her. She jerked her body slightly as she looked at you. She went to wipe her tears but you were faster.

You gently brushed your thumbs under eyes with a gentle smile. You’re perfect s/c skin shinning iridescently under the moonlight. She doesn’t stop crying, her body continued to shake. You brought her into your chest slowly rubbing her back.

After she’d calmed down she looked up at you. Her eyes were red and puffy but no longer it a river of tears fall from them.

“Are you alright?” You keep your voice calm, almost hypnotic.

“Yeah… sorry I just,” She didn’t need to finished.

“Got too crowded up there?” She nodded her head. You didn’t move, you kept your arms around her.

“You may not know this but I have this demon in my head and he’s… he won’t leave me alone.” You brought your lips to her forehead, kissing her gently.

“Nightmares are the plague of sleep. A curse I only know too well.” You told her with a smile.

“Crystal?” Niko’s gently and sleepy voice came from the roof door. She stood in her pink silk nightdress that was covered in flowers. You felt your face flushed at the position you been caught in.

This was Niko’s girlfriend, your friend’s girlfriend. Niko had been the first person to show you kindness and believe that you hadn’t been sing people to death. She was the first person to cut you from the boys net and here you were. Holding and kiss her girlfriend.

Niko approached quickly and sat by your side. She nuzzled her way into your arms and wrapped her own around Crystal. You didn’t move, not wanting to bring any attention to your own racing heart.

“Why don’t you come get me?” Niko asked softly.

“Didn’t want to worry you, either of you.” Crystal voiced. Niko smiled at her and moved her face to you. She kissed your cheek with her surprisingly soft lips for someone who’d probably just woken up.

“I knew you liked us.” Niko whispered as she rested her own head on your chest. You stiffed up, your shoulders going ridged. Your face became hot as Niko giggled.

“How did you…..?”

“Wanna hear a secret?” Niko’s voice was chipper. You couldn’t move your mouth.

“We like you too.” Crystal finished.

The water ripples around the teal shimmering tail attached to Y/n as she rests on the shore of her lagoon. Her two lovers sat on two large boulders to keep out of the water. Y/n brought her body between the pair as Niko continued to speak.

“And the cafe I found has crab for you Y/n!” Niko cheered as she kicked the water. Crystal chuckled as she took the shell from Y/n. It was a pale blue in color, matching the thick coat she wore.

“Niko that sounds lovely but you know I have to go to Atlantic tomorrow.” The two girls frown at the mention.

“I still don’t understand why you always have to go.” Niko whines softly.

“It’s a celebration for… for my dead pod. I have to go.” I mumbled softly. Crystal placed a hand on my shoulder. It was a fond memory of mine, when those hunters killed my entire pod and I had to flee in this lagoon.

“What were they like?” Crystal asked softly. I smile softly as the memories of my pod.

“My pod was an odd sort, we were all orphaned by mer-hunters. We clung to each other like the kelp that makes up our breeding grounds. We never could stray quite so far from one another.”

“Hey I’m also an orphan, well short of.” Niko added. I nod my head as I push myself up and kiss her. I run my hand through her white hair as she smiles.

“Will you sing for us?” Crystal asks softly.

Tokyo in April is... Ep 4 Stray Thoughts

Last week, Kazuma and Ren began their FWB relationship. It has strict rules about how they interact. Ren doesn't face him during sex, the lights stay off, and Kazuma leaves after. They stay friendly at work with no mention of it. They also hook up every day. Kazuma seems to recognize that there's something huge holding Ren back, and decides to be patient and present for now. Meanwhile, Ren put the whole company on his back to save an ad campaign after their actor was caught up in a scandal.

Trigger Warnings for this episode: Striking a minor, discussion of sexual assault, implied harm and suicide attempt, aftermath of implied sexual assault.

One of the fun things about a show where the characters are in an active sexual relationship, is any time you're present for the sex you immediately know that there are emotional stakes in play.

I love Kazuma. I like that he can feel that Ren was tired and needed closeness. I love that he turns that into an opportunity for Ren to do something for him instead.

I'm expecting the color gays to say something about this orange shirt matching the shelves later.

I'd be overwhelmed if I was Ren, too. He has fairly-valid reasons to believe that his feelings were one-sided. He's been protecting his heart in this arrangement, but now he's forced to see how real Kazuma's feelings (which have been expressed clearly since they met again) are.

See, and I totally get Ren misunderstanding Kazuma as teens. This feels a little like Lee Wan and Shin Ki Tae in Our Dating Sim, where Wan just could not comprehend that Ki Tae could also like him.

I don't have the words to convey how sad I am that Ren believed he coerced Kazuma into sex, and felt he needed to say that to their parents because he needed to be honest about all of the events that transpired to ensure that Kazuma received effective care for his condition.

It's awful to watch, but I appreciate a mom striking the self-proclaimed assailant of her son.

An exacto knife? Fuck me.

That was intense. I like delivering the history Ren has kept to himself as he breaks over the answer he's always wanted. That Ryunosuke guy had clearly heard of Kazuma before.

Kazuma is such a boy. They got the jock-turned-diligent-office-worker energy correct.

A home cooked meal shot from the side with the kitchen available in the back. I know that this is probably a fairly standard Japanese apartment layout in Tokyo, but this is sending me all the way to What Did You Eat Yesterday? I like this shift after such a heavy sequence.

Finally, a show for the quiet gays like me. I'm not surprised the same director as Our Dining Table is involved. Those boys were also Quiet Gays (Yes, I know Minoru is bi. Let me have fun). After a rough week or two at work, just taking a day to lazily enjoy each other's company is so nice compared to some date at a sponsored location.

Ren is staying over and we're getting a domestic gay montage. I am living!!

Oh, timing Kazuma saying that the only thing that matters to him is Ren as Ren strokes Kazuma's sleeping face is the most touching "it's mutual" thing I've seen in a while that also reflects the characters. Kazuma will say it. Ren will show it.

The framing around a coworker leaving, ominous energy about Sanada, warnings from the pissed former employee, the info in the past, and now the actor facing over 1300 sexual harassment charges.... Implications unpleasant about Sanada and that management may already know.

Yes, please dry his hair. You are a BL boy who almost died from being soaked in the rain ten years ago. We cannot repeat our mistakes.

This conversation about just taking a bath was refreshingly gay for me. I like the tacit acknowledgement about mess.

Ah, and there's the overt confirmation about Sanada. That women looked out of it.

DRAMA NEXT WEEK WITH WORK.

This was simultaneously an incredibly sad and heavy episode, but also one of the softest and most domestic things we've had in a while. The Japanese teams are really good at that balance. You can feel Ren finally softening and letting Kazuma in. The rapport between them is solid. They feel older than a lot of the pairings we've had in Japan despite just being in their mid-20s. This is really such a fantastic show.

As I've mentioned before, yes, I do role-play and I role-play QUITE A LOT. Thanks to role-playing my writing has evolved and gotten better since the first time I did my writing story. I love role-playing about Kadewave (Where are my Kadewave people!?!?!). I mostly love to play as Kade and have a whole angst on him and have the world turn on him, think everything is his fault, bla bla but there can be angst on Heatwave as well and I'm fine with that! I love to role-play about their partnership, not involving other Rescue Bots, Humans. Just them in the role-play, as if the others don't exist but the plot can have them 'off island' or the two can be far off in a different country, having a break, or whatever.

I role-play on Discord 24/7, that's the only platform I can role-play on but I can gladly role-play here on Tumblr in the Messages, just by using (Kade)/(Heatwave)/(CHARACTER NAME) at the start to know who were playing as. I'm very detailed in my role-play parts, and when I say detailed.. I at least have a lot of words in my part (100 (Min)-1000(Max)). I use a bot on Discord called the Tupperbox, where you can make your own bot for the role-play and play as it! It won't say your name, it will only say [The Bots Name] and will have the tag 'Bot' as every bot does!

MY SONS!

I love these two and I'm so happy they got their second chance.

Lee Wan is kind of a frustrating character, in that he lives so much in his own head and is so convinced he can't have what he wants that he self-sabotages and costs himself years of a relationship with Ki Tae, not to mention hurting him deeply by confessing and then doing a runner without even letting him respond. He abandoned his best friend in a bid to protect himself and it really wasn't cool! It's all very sympathetic, however, because Wan is a closeted gay boy who is utterly terrified of being rejected by his best friend, and at no point in all of this was he thinking clearly. He made both of them miserable but we never struggled to understand why.

Shin Ki Tae, by contrast, is kind of the hero of this relationship because he did not give up even when he easily could have. But no, he chased after Wan, found him again, supported his art from afar, found a way to bring him back into his orbit, and then forced him to talk it out until they resolved their issues and finally got on the same page. Conflict avoidant people need straightforward communicators in their lives and these two are a really good pair for that reason.

This is also one of those ships where I really believe they are going to stay together and have a happy relationship after the show ends. They're super compatible, they've worked their shit out, they are clearly devoted to each other, and I am not worried they will have these problems again.
