Summary: When group 141 and Los Vaqueros were betrayed by the shadows that you were considered close with, you rebelled against them as soon as Alejandro was knocked out. It didn't matter that you and Alejandro had a ridiculous rivalry. You still went down with him. Even while you had an odd relationship with Graves, you still chose to go against him. You were taken into custody along with Alejandro and were triggered into a manic breakdown while in the cell the two of you shared. You and Alejandro became close ever since.

You entered your room with no emotion but rage. Your duffle bag lay open on your bed, still with uniform and clothing in the bag. You had multiple items like pencils and mementos you'd collected from your travels. But you just stare at them with utter disgust, it was nothing against what you owned, but all that was racing through your mind was the prison you, Alejandro, and his group were sent to, while Soap and Ghost barely got away. Not to mention how a shadow shot Soap. Then there was the personal betrayal between you and Philip

You had always told the men in your group that one of these days the emotions they hide away will come out, and it's not a matter of if it'll happen, it's a matter of when.

And for you, it happened in the prison, in front of Alejandro, he had no fucking idea what was going on. You screamed in your cell after going through a reaction from PTSD, you were having intense flashbacks and were put into a manic breakdown

To be honest with yourself, you could hardly remember what set you off, it felt like someone took a clip from the moment and deleted it. The little you could remember was a soldier whispering in your ear that he wished he could have his way with you, but couldn't because to Graves, you were off limits.

You'd struggled with a traumatic event a few years ago that led you to the state you were in, which was what set off the reaction you had and how the visions of that day and event kept playing through your mind like a fucking nightmare.

You were tossed into the cell and fell on your side with uncontrollable sobs. Alejandro was irritated at first, telling you to get up. He was always a hardass towards you, really you believed he hated you. But after a while, he soon realized it wasn't a joke and you were having a serious mental issue.

You look back at it now and thought about how that was probably the first time the two of you had an actual connection, the first time he'd been nice to you.

How he looked at you when you were terrified,

How he convinced you to sit up,

and when you did, he held you for a few minutes until your hyperventilation and tears stopped

How you two looked at each other from opposite walls, sitting on the freezing stone floor, his arms crossed as he sighs.

How he asked if you wanted to talk about it.

How you wanted to tell him what you lived with and what you had gone through, but... Knew it just wasn't the right time, and it may never be.

When the two of you made it back to a safehouse after the prison escape, Alejandro sat you down with him. Your lips and eye bags were puffed from the breakdown. He walked over to you with two mugs of coffee in hand.

"I think I'd need a real drink after this" He implied his taste for alcohol. He took his seat across from you at the small table. You met his eyes as he grinned the slightest bit. You wondered how a man could have such a pretty smile. You smiled a bit at his joke in return before taking a sip of your black coffee.

He swirls his coffee in the mug before looking back at you with curiosity invading his eyes.

"You still don't want to talk about what happened, Frontier?" You don't look back at him, instead, you shake your head 'no'

"Hm, okay" He sighs.

"Did you want to talk about Graves?" That caught your attention. Your eyes darted to his brown ones.

"There's nothing to talk about," You said just above a whisper. You take a sip of your coffee while warming up your cold hands like he never said anything.

"Señorita, don't do this," His voice was husked with his Spanish accent with a dead serious face. He placed his mug down lightly and placed his arms along the table to make himself bigger.

"I know that you and Graves..." He took a moment to find the right words, but you already knew there were no right words in this situation. Your glare was now present from irritation

"... Have a complicated relationship" His face remains serious and his gaze digs into your soul.

"....I told you I'm not a shadow" Your head tilted and your brows raised, but Alejandro kept staring at you like you were a fucking idiot.

"I'm not talking about if you were a shadow or not, I'm talking about if you had a.... personal... relationship," He clicks his tongue.

"I'm a traitor to them! What more do you want from me?!" The chair being pushed back as you stood dent a blood-curdling noise around the room.

"Tell me what the fuck your relationship was with Graves!" He stood up right after you.

"I-I don't know why this matters" You start laughing, but your eyes are glossed from forming tears.

"Y/N" He finally calmly said. It was the first time you'd heard your first name come out of his mouth. He only ever called you by Frontier, although he was also the only person in the group who knew your first and last name.

The truth was though, you and Philip were just fuck buddies, but nights after you lie next to him and wish that you two were more. You never knew Philips's feelings towards you, but you wanted him to like you as much as you liked him. Deep down though you knew it was never meant to be, and that you were just extremely lonely. The man was a walking red flag, yet you found yourself daydreaming about him.

But when you started knowing it wasn't a possibility, you took notice of Alejandro, he was definitely not the nicest person to you, but something about his aura kept drawing you towards him. You didn't know if it was his looks, his humor, or the way you just knew how much of a good person he was. You picked up on things about him and aligned them with ideas about him as a person. You imagined him to be extremely romantic, so much so that the things he'd do would be such a cliché, but you found it cute, really. But your heart sank when you realized how much you gained a liking for Alejandro.

When you were set back to the reality of what Alejandro was assuming, you knew didn't need this right now. You'd just recovered from a panic attack, and now all you could think of was Grave's betrayal. You just wanted a break, or a moment to sit and align all your emotions in a row instead of them being thrown at you continuously with no chance to think straight. So before you or Alejandro said anything else, you walked away from the table and to your assigned dorm. Alejandro stood in the same spot but watched as you walked down the hall.

After your panic attack in the prison was when Alejandro was put into a position where he could confront his own feelings toward you. Since you two met on the U.S-Mexico border, he dreaded you being a part of their group, seeing as he already didn't like shadows and really just assumed you were one too because you were American.

Alejandro kept a rivalry between the two of you, but over time he started noticing little things you do. How you bite your lip when you're in deep thought, the way your eyes flutter to keep yourself awake on the plane or the heli, the way you listened to the others in the group so well, the ways your eyes trailed all over him, and how you were always the first to ask if someone was okay. He didn't know why he cared so much but he began to think about you, day and night.

He'd be concerned and wonder if you were okay if you two weren't together. He wanted his eyes on you all the time. But his mind would trail back to Valeria's betrayal. He was heartbroken when he found out it was her, an ex-army partner, who turned against everything he stood for, it destroyed everything he knew about her, and every bit of trust against anyone who could be something of a friend or partner to him. In a way, he knew exactly what it felt like, with what was happening between you and Graves.

But when you were wrapped in his arm, shaking, and bawling, especially from you, he never wanted to let go. He memorized your scent and the way you felt, the way you fit in his arms, but what stood out to him the most was that after how rude he was to you and how much he pushed you away, you still trusted him enough to hold you and that you didn't stop him from holding you

That was the moment he realized that he was in love.

The anger spread through your body. Your shoulders were tense, and your eyes prick with tears that dared to come out. Who does he think he is? Asking that about you and Graves? You don't know why, but you just start picking up items around your room, your clothing, then empty items to clear the way, as a form of coping to clean a bit. You noticed in a cleaner room; you were able to think much better. Your mind was distracted from your mental attack and how much you grieved about Graves.

You heard your door swing open and hit the wall while doing so, it was so loud, you thought it broke a hole into the wall. “Get the fuck out of here!” You yelled not knowing who it was, not that you cared anyways. You spun your head around to see a shadow looming over you from the hall light that seeped into the midnight-black room. Alejandro might as well have teleported from where he stood because he was up to your figure before you’d even moved your body to face him.

I’m trying to find my way around tumblr looking for more stories to read, but there are some ‘terms’ I’m unfamiliar with and can’t figure out. I did the google search, but it did not help me just recommended stories (seriously Google… you had one job…😐).

So I hope someone sees this and can help me😅.

(I don’t know if it’s relevant but I look/read K-pop fanfics)

1. What are “hard thoughts”?

I saw this listed on a master list (I’m guessing a master list is like a list and over a writers stories, sorted by genre and members/ships) and as a genre alongside smut, fluff and angst I saw “hard thoughts” I also think I saw “hard hours”? What does this mean???

2. Reposted?

Tumblr calls my own page “my blog” and when I shared a story and it appeared in “my blog’. I can see it has 5200 something ‘notes’ (I’m guessing ‘notes’ are like likes). These are the authors likes right? I saw the OG post had about the same notes.

I know I made a comment about how much I loved the story and maybe people liked that, it just confuses me, if I got that many lines/ notes for something that is someone else’s hard work.

3. Can I make a master list as a reader?

I read a story and at the end I noticed by the tags, that it said “made by xxxx” and that was not the name of one the post I found (i found out they had shared xxxxx post I just didn’t notice). This made me slightly waist of plagiarism, but if it’s a reader sharing and spreading the authors story and gaining it more attention (like how I found it) I would think it’s okay. I would love to share my favourite stories with others and have my favourite authors get more recognition! Is that how it works?

And then could I and other readers make a master list of the stories we share so if a fellow MOA sees my ‘blog’ they would easily see I fav and shared stories???

I saw in a profile bio “MDNI!” And another “DNI” what does this mean?

Those are my questions for now. I’m used to reading in AO3 and before that I read on Wattpad, and I’m beginning to read stories on Twitter or X (im also learning how twitter works rn). So I know the most of the fanfic ‘terms’ like pwp, dead dove and so on.

So yesterday marks the very first time I’ve posted a fic on here

I had written fics before but this was my first ever 18+ fic

Before I started writing for the cod fandom I had stuck to reading cod fics on ao3 specifically price pieces and I rmr one day wanting to read a fic where price teaches reader how to smoke cigars but I just knew there wasn’t an x male reader piece around so I decided to write it myself

I spent a month researching how to write smut trying to get a proper feel of price’s character and translate those very same traits into my own fic

And when I was completely done with it I almost didn’t post it but I did and I believe in one day I got 200 notes which was insane. I didn’t know how active people were on tumblr I really just wanted to create a price piece and do what I love which is writing

The next piece took 3 weeks before I posted it mostly because I was picking and poking at it but then I told myself you know if I’m going to be running a writing blog I have to write more often

So I pushed myself to write more often and back then I had just started to become fixated with price so I had plenty of ideas at hand

Slowly but surely I started to post more and more pieces and my blog started to grow. From April to maybe June month I had gotten two requests and maybe one ask where it was an anon who was just interested in talking to me and I rmr feeling over the moon about it

And then June month I started to grow rapidly like I really was there like whats going on 🧍🏻 i rmr the writers i looked up to became mutuals with me and i genuinely couldnt believe this was happening.

june- september i felt myself become more confident in my writing and i started to write like every 2-3 days and that’s when so many of you guys joined my blog and i rmr just being surprised that so many of you wanted to talk to me and that i went from one anonie to having a little council of yall

then november - February came around and that period is usually the worst for my mental l health but writing and having you guys show so much love not only for my work but also and it genuinely helped me so much

now its been a year of writing fics and im just really appreciative

also its so cool to be able to see how much ive grown how i went from spending a month on writing a fic to being able to produce pieces im actually proud of in the span of 3 days it's also fun to see how much knowledge ive gained by just writing like ill find myself reading pieces and im able to see minimal adjustment i can make that while make the scene flow whiles before id be questioning my grammar in every sentence

so what i want to say with this yapping is thank you guys and if youre someone who wants to get into ff writing pls do so

at first you'll feel like a weed in a garden but as times goes on you’ll realize how much you and your work has made the garden bloom🫶🏻

how do you deal with insecurities regarding your writing? i feel like i vacillate violently between “oh i’m pretty good actually” and “i am the worst writer on the planet”. this is also specifically with creative writing. like, when it comes to academic writing i’m really confident in myself and my abilities, and i feel like that’s because i find it easier to objectively judge my own academic writing? like i can tell when it’s good and when it kind of sucks a little, but i don’t know how to extend the same objectivity to creative stuff, so i guess the default ends up becoming that it’s horrible.

i used to write a lot just for fun but i don’t really do that anymore because i end up getting too invested in whether it’s “good” or not and then it just stops being fun, which sucks, but i also need it to be good for me to have fun with it, which just ends up being a vicious cycle. the last time i wrote just for fun was maybe a year ago? i tried really hard to let go of the “this has to be a masterpiece” mindset, so i wrote some fanfiction because well it doesn’t get more “for fun” and self indulgent than that. i posted a couple on tumblr, and i wasn’t exactly expecting much traction, so i wasn’t disappointed or anything when i didn’t get a lot out of the fandom, but i did get a couple really nasty asks. (i guess that’s on me for posting on tumblr lol.) as far as i could tell, it was just one person who was really, really invested in making me miserable. it was kind of stupid but there was just so much of it. at first it was just racism about how i’m not white so i should stop using english because i don’t know how to, which i don’t care about because i’m perfectly aware that my English is more than fine (not that this ask is indicative of anything, i promise i know how to capitalise and use proper punctuation and better grammar). but they said this one thing that i keep thinking about literally a whole year later: “i’m an english teacher, and i’ve used your writing as a sample of what not to do while writing”.

…yeah. so that was just a teensy bit insane!! like they’d called my writing trash in a variety of ways before that, but that last thing was just ??? what do you even say to that?? it was just for fun, i wasn’t trying to be a modern Dostoevsky or anything, but holy shit, was it actually that bad??? (i ask, as if you would be able to judge having never read my writing.) but anyway, i haven’t been able to stop thinking about that, and every time i start writing something now, i have a bit of a “would this be used as the bad writing sample in an english class?” moment.

I believe I answered a couple of similar asks recently.

The short answer is: that feeling of insecurity doesn't go away, but you do eventually learn to pick your battles. Wondering about the tastes of a hypothetical audience is an ever shifting target and unhelpful, so instead aim to satisfy your own tastes.

But I think you know that already.

As for the person giving you shit - honestly fuck them off into a bin. The glorious thing about the internet is if someone acts like a prick, you can bin them and move on - very easily. I have noticed a tendency within Fanfiction communities to be cutting, graceless, and viciously unkind even though the stakes are (as we all know) very, very low.

I reckon it stems from their own feelings of insecurity - that FF isn't real writing (it is, don't let anyone tell you different), so they feel the need to enforce some backasswards, arbitrary standard to create an air of respectability. Trust me - I've been in workshops and swapped work with some incredible, successful authors and this level of backbiting and cruelty is completely alien to me.

So, again: have fun, write what you love, and if someone gives you shit for it, kick them in the shins without breaking your stride.

Can you actually fold a fitted sheet?

No. I thought it was a funny handle that was easy to say and hard to do. A metaphor for life being messy and complicated. A task that you can only ever try your best at although failure in inevitable.

When I moved in with my beloved I packed the linen closet and told them that I didn't know if we'd have enough room. They spent a day refolding everything beautifully and it took up a third of the closet. So some people are just built different.

Have you seen this guide on how to fold them??? It's easy!

I am content at my current levels of adequacy and would prefer to spend my time on other pursuits. Thank you for thinking of me, but I'm good.

Will you put a read more on comics?

No. I have tried to put out comics under read more cuts and they do not get the same traction. It's also unfair to ask me to change how I present my work. No one will ever have to scroll through them as much as me and I promise it's never more than 30 seconds which does not feel unreasonable.

Tumblr has a setting that will automatically shorten long posts, and I have provided a tag "do you love the color of the comic" so that you can take initiative to reduce the space they take up. You can also block the new individual comic tag after you’ve read it to stop seeing repeats.

Comics take months of my time to produce and I reblog them a lot when they first launch because I'm excited to share something that I worked really hard on.

I won't be offended if you unfollow me, but I will if you ask me to cater to your sensibilities on how long my art should be.

Will you reblog my mutual aid post?

I’m sorry, but no. If I don’t know you I don’t have the time to check for scams and Tumblr just really isn’t the best platform to ask for help if you’re in dire straits.

Why are all the ace flag creatures sleepy?

An ace friend loved the ace dragon in the first set and said, “It’s sleepy like my sexuality!” I thought that was very cute and when I did gryphons I made them sleepy too. I’ve since gotten a lot of really cute comments on how much people liked the sleepy ace creechurs.

When I went through and revamped the unicorns I noticed the ace unicorn wasn’t sleepy. I made a poll to ask if I should switch it to be consistent with the dragons and gryphons. It was an overwhelming yes so now all the ace creatures are sleepy.

A Year in Retrospect

The social media diaspora began a year ago, and I've been neglecting Tumblr. Trying to come back, slowly, so here's what I've been up to since November 2022.

Bio-Drones & Cryo-Clones

From November to February 1st, 2022, I worked on my Zine Month campaign, a Kickstarter for my first ttrpg zine, a Sleeper Crew Adventure for Mothership RPG called Bio-Drones & Cryo-Clones.

I was blown away by the immense show of support. The crowd-funding allowed me to pay for even more art, better and bigger maps, development and editing, and professional layout. I got to make the zine into the amazing package I'd dreamed up.

The zines were sent off to the fulfillment center last Friday! A ton of my ttrpg work time was spent on what's in these boxes, and it's pretty scary to see it go off into a truck. That does mean the zines will be available at retailers soon, though, which just feels nuts to me.

The Unseen City

I also wrote The Unseen City, the first 3pp setting and adventure for Cloud Empress, the ecological science fantasy RPG, the successful Mothership hack from Worlds by Watt.

I go into depth about how this 20pg zine turned evolved from the "Pamphlet Duet" I originally conceived in my most recent newsletter. A lot of struggles, gained some killer art from HodagRPG, and all for a game I'm really quite happy with. I do plan to return to writing more adventures for The Unseen City as well!

Mitosis, Escape from STAR Station

Last year, RV Games published my Mothership pamphlet series The Cerdo Cycle (that was my last Tumblr post!). Shortly after the campaign, Violet asked me to write a giant 8x16 inch pamphlet adventure for RV Games' upcoming in-universe Mothership board game, Mitosis.

I wrote Escape from STAR Station, a gonzo adventure about a Prison Break amidst two warring factions: Cyberviral Pirate Goons & STARS Staff Brainiacs. Both sides are infected by experiments with the Mitosis board game microorganisms. It's a crazy lil adventure with awesome art by Sigmacastell. You can pick up an abridged print-at-home version for free on my itch page, even.

5 Million Worlds RPG

For the One-Page Game Jam this past summer, I submitted a pocketzine Space Adventure hack of Mothership, called 5MW RPG: Avatar Basics.

In this little A4/US Letter space, I've designed two main pulls away from sci-fi horror to space adventure. The first are Push Tables. Similar to the end of act in a Star Trek episode, these tables push the conflict in new and unexpected directions.

The second is a switch from Stress into Limit. Limit is your PC's XP, used to improve Stats/Saves, build towards projects, etc. Notably, instead of a Panic Table, 5MW has two tables: a Break Down table (similar to Panic), and a Limit Break table (like in FF).

When characters are in the shit, and they have to roll a Limit Check, the players can decide whether to spend their XP and do some cool shit to overcome the circumstances, or accept the Break Down. Good ol' @christiansorrell even did a TikTok video discussing the game, if you wanna check that out.

I'm very excited to continue to pursue creating a player's handbook, 5MW RPG: Avatar Primer. If you download the game on itch, I'll keep y'all apprised of substantial updates. Next up is developing the chargen, and reconfiguring the pocketzine as an A6 booklet: 5MW RPG: Avatar Basics+.

Outer Rim Uprising

I was extremely honored to join 11 other designers to create pieces of the Outer Rim Uprising Megabundle, spearheaded by our intrepid leader, Iko of The Lost Bay Studio.

Several months of brainstorming and collaboration went into this 20+ piece bundle. I contributed two pieces for this bundle. The first is a 12pg adventure module Rusted to the Core. Androids aboard an aerostat station floating in a gas giant's clouds have gone on strike. Can the PCs resolve the issues before the Rust overtakes the station?

The second is the more "experimental" Bones on the Ground. Bones is a bifold adventure into an android museum-prison, paired with three diegetic fliers supporting the ARA, the Android Rights Association (or Android Rebel Alliance, depending on who you ask!). Pieces of the three flyers contain clues for PCs who join the ARA to better succeed when they begin their museum infiltration.

A Buncha Spaceship Deckplans

So I have ADHD, and experience bouts of summer mania. Spaceshiptember rolled around, and I thought, "Hey it'd be no problemo to write 30 deckplans and release them this month, while I'm also trying to print BioCryo, promote ORU, starting a newsletter, and finishing up The Unseen City." Totally sane decision, right?

Well, I got through half the month. And I sketched out a third week's worth of ships on paper too. One of those sketches caught Adam STATION's eye, even, and he asked me to join An Infinity of Ships to turn it into a micro-adventure!

As long as this quick-n-dirty zine remains unfinished, it'll be free on itch.io. Again, if you'd like, follow along and I'll send out dev updates when new pages are added!

the dying tides

Another Jam entry, this time for The Lost Bay Studio's system agnostic fantasy setting + coloring book, SKYREALMS.

I made the dying tides as a short, lightweight fantasy adventure to venture among wavebros and squidillies. The art is based on my 4 yo daughter's paintings. Since she loved coloring the SKYREALMS books so much, I figured it was a poetic homage to the kind and mysterious heart of this game.

An Interactive Terminal Network

Last but not least, I smashed my skull against Twine on and off for six months to create a unified Interactive Terminal Network for my Mothership adventure, Bio-Drones & Cryo Clones.

The terminal is absolutely free to play on itch.io. Though passwords that can be found in the zine lock off a few areas. That said, I'm sure many folk could dig out the passwords without the zine. I don't know how to do that stuff. The fact that I even MADE this thing is a miracle to me, hahaha.

Goal for 2023

I like your work a lot like it's genuinely Hilarious so I thought you would be the best person to ask for this.

I want to make a writing tumblr for enhypen but I'm a little lost because I've never used tumblr (as a creator) before LOL just used twitter and AO3 to write/socmed for fictional fandoms (tbh this is my first time like being a proper fan of a kpop group as to occasionally liking a song or two).

Anyways! What I've gathered from my experience on twitter and the writers I've followed here is obviously your blog should have an intro about you (inc. what you're comfy with, what you write, etc.) and a master list of your works BUT some of Tumblr's mechanics are Confusing.

Like,

1) should I create specific tags for my asks?

2) on twt, usually you create a tweet like "Hi! New to #___twt, looking for moots blah blah" to get an initial burst of likewise new people to bond and communicate with, does it work similarly here and if so/not please elaborate TT

3) is the etiquette to reblog every work you like, or is that spammy and you should just like them?

4) is there any other advice you have for navigating tumblr (like odd quirks)

5) ALSO this is a small dumb question but in the fandoms I've been in until now we usually used socmed au instead of smau do you have any idea why that's different (low-key smau is smarter tho bcus it's a shorter abbreviation)

1. honestly i'm not 100% sure if there's any real purpose behind specific tags for your asks other than organization personally LOL but it's pretty helpful if you want to go back to look through your asks for something instead of scrolling past all the posts on your blog !!

2. omg yes i love the twt intros 💗 honestly for tumblr i think i just started posting content right away whenever i made a blog 🤧 i think intros are usually just in your navigation anyways but if you want to talk to different authors then it doesn't hurt to send an ask!! usually people communicate with different authors via the ask box 🥰

3. all sorts of interaction is great but i think reblogs are preferred!! i typically use likes as my bookmarks and then reblogs to comment on work or share it to a wider audience. the algorithm for tumblr works so that your likes don't show for others (unless you make it public on your profile) but your reblogs are on the dashes of people who follow you

4. ooh i'd say make use of the tagging system!! using tags like #enhypen fluff or #enhypen x reader on your fics will make it easier for people to find your work 💘

5. HAHAH I USED TO CALL IT SOCMED AU TOO BEFORE I JOINED TUMBLR 😭 i still use social media au as a tag but i think smau is more widely used here!! not exactly sure why but im guessing its just easier to tag 🙂‍↕️ i get you tho bc i experienced the same culture shock

BASICS

NAME: val AGE: 24 PRONOUNS: she / they YEARS OF WRITING: ok how specific are we talking. because i can say like circa 2010 i was on facebook writing bad twilight fanfiction + rp ( which then progressed into bad thg fanfiction ) or i can say elementary school and my little short stories i was always ad - libbing. regardless, it's definitely something i've had a knack for my whole life and it was literally just a matter of time before i found out about rp. and yes before you ask it was my personal facebook. when i was 11. that had all of my relatives added. yes they saw it. years writing on tumblr is different and i think i jumped ship and found out about tumblr rp around 2012 / 2013 and with that came my first formative decision which was to watch supernatural. you know where this is going. yes it was bad. no i'm not showing anyone.

REFLECTION

WHY DID YOU PICK UP WRITING? i needed a hobby and had unrestricted internet access. i kind of answered this in the question before so jokes on me blah blah blah but without getting too personal i had a very difficult time in school with mental health and tumblr, known weird kid haven, was my little safe space where i could freely pursue what i enjoyed and was really my first venture into fandom spaces. i started in the supernatural rpc [ horror music ] and slowly meandered my way through book fandoms, to animanga, and finally settled on the video game community where i've been good and SAT for like six years now.

DO YOU HAVE ANY WRITING ROUTINES? not necessarily. it's a miracle if i'm able to sit down long enough to open up my drafts and get going, but if i can lock in i'm all set. i find it hard to listen to music while writing because my brain cannot separate the two and i will accidentally start writing down the lyrics but i've never actually considered tuning into instrumentals so ,, thank you vos. writing that down............

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT WRITING? stealing from vos in stealing answer solidarity but the rp community aspect. it can be awful and exhausting as some of us know good and well but it can also be incredible depending on who you surround yourself with. it's so validating finding people who share your little niche interest or even niche - er pairing ( hi vos ) and then to just completely devolve into sending memes and posts and screaming until 2 am in dms. i've met so many of my closest friends through rp, and stealing vos' answer again, but the characters i write who turn out the most developed are those who have been shared with friends. noctis would be nowhere near as fleshed out as he is if not for the people i met in the ff fandom all those years ago.

THREE THINGS YOU LIKE ABOUT YOUR WRITING. oughhghh, um. i'm bad at taking compliments and even worse at complimenting myself so bare with me.

i've definitely grown a lot in terms of style and prose, and i'm actually pretty happy with what i'm able to spit out in terms of aesthetic styling as compared to even a few years ago. one of my biggest insecurities ( that still pops up here and again mind you ) was never being able to match length, and i was in the worst writers' block for a few years that i finally managed to escape out of around 2020 and now i can confidently say i'm writing more regularly than i ever have. so to answer the question: it has been my personal growth in my writing and it turning into something i can be confident in and proud of.

i really do enjoy the mundanity of editing my replies. i love to see the progress i make edit by edit and how cohesive and put together a piece of writing becomes the longer i work on it. i fully 100% devote myself to one reply at a time, which is a nightmare for quantity but sooooooo rewarding if it means i can put something out to the best of my ability and not stress myself out worrying about whatever else i owe. i am a self appointed slowpoke, and i've learned over the years to not let myself feel guilty about that because as long as it can become something i devote time on and put effort into, then it really shouldn't bother me how long it takes.

vos @stagehunt my right hand man who has been with me for every gacha related poor financial decision. everything you said i'm literally sending right back to you. i knew no one in that fandom and was in way out of my depth before stumbling across you and your blog. i am so thankful we crossed paths and shoved our little barbie dolls together and said kiss because developing, and i mean really developing tomo would not have happened without your input. at this point you definitely deserve writing credits on him too because the way he turned out would be nowhere near the same if not for your influence. i've had a blast experiencing genshin's story with you and knowing without fail you'll be thinking the exact same thing whenever hyv fumbles the bag again, and yes. one day i GUESS i'll play more than 7 hours of hsr. luv u xoxo.

plum, @sherez, my love, my heart. it's crazy how fast the years have flown by and now all of a sudden i've known you since 2018??? i still remember seeing you from afar on ez and always being blown away by how much love and devotion you put into your characters. we are quite literally bonded for life after surviving the [ redacted ] rpc and i can't think of anyone better to come out beside than you. you can't get rid of me bitch!!!!!!!!! the amount of effort and care i've seen you throw into v, and how far she's come in terms of development blows me away. she is easily one of the best written characters i've ever had the pleasure of reading and i am so excited to keep following her growth. besides how freakishly talented you are, it's astonishing how much we have in common. bc who tf else would i be talking to about forgotten mcr lore in the year of our lord 2024. if no one got me, i know plum got me. booket....... booket for my sweety.......

lu @tactition its crazy how in the short little time we've spent together how much i've bonded with u. if i got down on one knee and pulled out a ring would u say yes.... my yaoi soulmate........ its INSANE how well our character Types (tm) mesh together, and i know karma is coming with its kiss for me when i finally download nier and have to atone for what i put u thru when i made you play final fantasy. please be gentle with me im delicate........... real talk tho.. you have so quickly become such an important person in my daily life and i literally feel myself go !!!! whenever i see a new dm from you because i know its always gonna be good. your character takes blow me away and even for myself who's nearly 7 years deep into the final fantasy scene, it amazes me how you still manage to shed light and new perspective on characters i've known for years. let’s kiss freaky style.

i've very much condensed my little bubble into people i actually want to surround myself with atp, and there's always a handful of mutuals on every blog that i don't necessarily talk to but who have been with me for years now so. sorry you can't leave or i'll become a danger to myself and others. kisses :*

WHERE DO YOU DRAW THE MOST INSPIRATION FROM? this is definitely a muse - specific question since it varies from character to character. with noctis specifically, it's mostly music. i have a few different playlists for him after writing him for so long, and while i can't listen while i write they all offer different types of mood setting for him. other times, its media involving fantasy tropes or characters that have similar struggles to him, off the top of my head ( and something i connected early on ) is the character u.enoyama r.itsuka from given. there's a lot i could say here regarding which aspects i took inspiration from but the majority was the similar personality he has to noctis, the internal thought process he offered when i read the manga, and the way he struggled with his sexuality that struck the loudest chord. don't quote me on any of that since i haven't been caught up with given for like 5 years now but !!!!! yeah the end.
