Not only is it Fathers day, meaning I’m not currently home, but my mental health tanked last night and I haven’t completely gotten out of the funk, so today I won’t be posting another DoL chapter (as I also have not yet finished it).

Ok, Taskmaster UK tier list. Go

excluding: pre-Series 7 (because it has been ages since i've seen them and i honestly do not remember); Champion of Champions; New Years Treat

(*) indicates the series that i have watched multiple times and/or more recently.

S16*: possibly dictated by recency bias but i genuinely enjoyed this series more than any other i think. it usually takes me a couple of episodes to warm up to the cast but i was immediately sucked in this time. not a single normal person in sight and Sam Campbell is a special brand of insane that i resonate with on a worryingly deep and personal level.

S7*: watching James Acaster get genuinely angry over futile things is one of life's greatest pleasures if you ask me and my god does this series deliver on that front. this cast exists somewhere between found family and deranged Lord of the Flies remake in a way that i find irresistible.

S10: nearly ex aequo with S13 but the fact that this was filmed during the pandemic gives it an underlying hysterical quality that makes it take the cake. the outtakes (especially the "Little Trumper" part) are possibly the hardest i've ever laughed while watching this programme.

S13*: the way the cast interact in the studio really gives this series some extra oomph. i can't quite put my finger on it but the vibe is sort of like Fellowship of the Ring except they all die the second they set foot outside of Rivendell. besides, Greg Davies being genuinely scared of Bridget Christie will never not be hilarious to me.

S11*: very close to S10 and S13 but i have a primal dislike of Lee Mack that means i personally can't fully enjoy these episodes. there are still some excellently cursed moments (e.g., "absolute casserole") to be enjoyed. i had a weird crush on Mike Wozniak for months after watching this. it was humiliating but it bumps it up in the ranking.

S9: i've only watched it once back when it aired and maybe it would rank higher if i did watch it again. Ed Gamble's actual visceral rage at David Baddiel during that one studio task is legendary, i wish we got more of that. unfortunately i can't remember much else.

S14: as deducible from this list one of my favourite Taskmaster tropes is Contestant Who Desperately Wants to Do Well being teamed up and hindered by Inept Contestant(s) and the Dara O'Briain - Fern Brady - John Kearns partnership is a shining example of that. ranks low(er) only because i feel like the tasks themselves weren't terribly memorable.

S12: similarly to S9, i feel like i need to revisit this one to form fair judgment but i don't think i ever really clicked with the cast. i liked the contestants individually but perhaps their interaction was hampered by the social distancing measures. i remember it was enjoyable but that's about it.

S8: another example of one cast member souring the overall experience for me. i didn't love Lou Sanders in this and i just can't be objective about it. Joe Thomas had some good moments i think.

S15: even though it's the second most recent series i can't remember much from it. nothing against the contestants but unfortunately i think something did not work and the comparison to S16 makes it look even more lacklustre in hindsight.

Question based on a costume detail I recently noticed (thank you, all the queens posting farewells to Courtney Mack!!):

Do you prefer the Parr costume with the studs across the neckline like the OBC (2021) had or without it?

Personally I think it’s a nice touch and I feel the newer Parr costumes look a little unfinished without it, especially because it looks like some don’t even have a lining (this def feels like the wrong word, but I’m not a fashion/costume expert) on it.

(Also small secondary question: Do you plan to add the Parr top with the studs on the neckline to the game? I know the update’s already planning to have SO FREAKIN MUCH GOODNESS that I’d 1000% get it, but I guess it can’t hurt to ask!)

I don't mind it either way tbh. The trim finishes the final line on the top, but also it breaks the illusion ofhaving only mesh over it. In theory the black trim is the worst option as there isn't another black only edge in the entire costume, but I actually like it (did my own costume that way which says a lot).

You aren't wrong in that the costumes aren't lined at least in the skin toned panels. They use a skin tone mesh matched to the actor's skin tone and the stripes on top of it. UK and US costumes use slightly different mesh which dictates the finishing of the collar.

US costumes have a very see through mesh (you can see the underlayer through it and sometimes the bra depending on the leotard material) so folding the mesh on top to hem it would be visible from the outside so the trim becomes necessary. I don't know why they stopped doing studs though. UK costumes have a much thicker mesh that can be folded back and finished by hand without becoming visible, this way it looks as if there is only stripped mesh on the center panels.

And the real question is which Parr top am I not adding into the update: US, US with studs on the collar and UK with darker studs are all coming

Oh honey you have no idea how many story ideas I have that involves Mack for which I cannot write for the life of me 😭

Here are the list I can narrow down, but a nice list indeed;

- Found family crew where they drag Mack, kicking and screaming, into their bonding time. Mack is too stubborn to allow his touch starved ass to ever get close to his crew.

- Mack finding out Captain is a lust demon (or just a regular demon, your pick) and just melts whenever they use their tail on him and is a second away from passing out.

- Dictator! Captain with head engineer Mack, making him fall to his knees because they said “Remember who’s still in charge,”

- Straight up smut with him being a bottom

- My Corrupted! Mack Au where he becomes part of real life, and Viewer just ogles him like eye candy.

- Dictator Mack showing a mean and dark front for the colony, but behind closed doors, is a malewife and adores Captain like a deity.

- Mack is a professional cook and secretly makes pastries for Captain. Captain finds like and makes him all flustered.

- Short Captain having the strength of 1,000 men, lifting up Mack like it was nothing, and Mack’s brain short circuiting.

- Tall Captain who loves to loom over Mack, getting close and kissing the top of his head, reminding Mack why he signed up for this job.

- Alien Captain and Mack, with them showing him the wonders of space and beauty of the galaxy.

- Cute space date with Mack with Chica third wheeling.

- College au with Nerd! Mack. I totally headcanon him to be a nerd, glasses and everything.

- Polyamorous Crew with trying to get into Mack’s pants.

- Sick Mack getting taken care of, and silently cried when he realized his is loved and cared for.

- Gunther being the dog to his cat, and threatens to everyone that only he is allowed to mess with Mack.

- Mark getting into shit with Space police and Mack helping him escape, only because he’s the co head engineer of course!

- Nose kisses for Mack, where his nose turns red like his ears.

- Mack singing like an absolute god, where the whole crew hears it and falls in love right then and there.

- Mack getting overstimulated by stress and noises, where the Captain comforts him.

- Angsty Lovers to Enemies with Dictator Mack.

- Captain getting jealous for Mack and gets possessive over him.

- Birthday surprise for Mack.

- Jacksepticeye! Mack and Head Engineer! Mack being chaotic twins.

- All of the Mack variants being little shits on board the ship with the crew practically babysitting them.

- Mack getting embarrassed because his baby photos were found and shared by the leaders.

- Mack secretly being affectionate towards Chica after claiming he hates her (no one can truly hate Chica).

Burack Rant

"FUCK IT SO MUUUUUCH" here's my burack ship thread post cause I need to ramble about them feel free to not read this I just need to let my silly little thoughts out 😁

Burack is a ship that consists of Burt and Mack from In Space with Markiplier (ISWM) They have three ships names ship name number one is burack; which is just their names joint together

Now before I get to the other two ship names I have to say Mack has two variations Crew Member Mack (pictured on the left) and Dictator/Head Engineer Mack (pictured on the right) and Burt is a reactor specialist so his title is featured in both ship names

It should also be said that these are both Mack but in different universes, in crew member Mack's universe he isn't head engineer (though we can assume he is an engineer) and in the universe where he is Head engineer he basically takes over the role of engineer mark (pictured)

(cont.) who is basically the captain's (/y/n's) right hand man but in a universe where Mack is head engineer we see that he takes on a lot more of a dictator role if you allow him to take control of the ship, if you don't allow him to do this he essentially has an identity crisis and becomes mark (don't ask)

So thus their other two ship names are born with their second ship name being theoryreactor: it's a mix of Mack's crew self (seeing as he's simply deemed theory crew in the credits) and Burt's title of reactor specialist

It is likely Mack is deemed "theory crew" in this universe due to being played by matpat (creator of game, film, food, and style theory) that leads us to our third ship name corruptreactor: which is a combination of dictator mack and burt's reactor specialist title

Corrupt refers to how Mack is a very corrupt leader who takes advantage of those he rules over. Generally speaking I usually alternate their ship names but if I wanna get more specific these are the ships names I use.

Burack; all Burt and Mack variants

Theoryreactor; crew member Mack/all Macks [This is pretty much their default name that I lean to] - I also think theoryreactor is funny because someone can react to a theory and be a theory reactor.. idk

Corruptreactor; dictator Mack

Corrupttheory; evil/dictator Burt (very rare variation that is usually only based on au/HC)

No real distinction between ships names but if only one of them is evil or dictatory it's likely one sided (and angsty!)

Okay now that we got all their general info out of the way here are my headcanons for them!

Burt is trans guy but he doesn't really care what pronouns you use on them, they're just here. He's also panromantic and asexual. I give him a lot of angst but I swear I love him!

For example Burt had a husband and 2 children on earth but his husband died a year prior to him going on the space ship and he had to leave his children on the dying planet earth knowing they would die. ( I am evil ) Burt now feels guilty pursuing relationships. Due to how recent his husband's death was (or maybe it's been decades at this point who knows) he still feels bad and just pushes his feelings for Mack aside. That's all for Burt but now let's talk about Mack...

Mack is trans? (I really don't know I just know they're not cis...) they use they/he/it pronouns. He's also aromantic and gay. Crew Member Mack often finds himself unintentionally competing with Mark often feeling unworthy and like he doesn't deserve his job as crew member. Burt and him have a good relationship and Burt continues to tell them they're worthy, but Mack isn't able to take the praise as truth as he doesn't have a lot of friends or people who like them on the crew, they believe Burt's only friends with them out of pity. Hence why they often end up pushing her away.

Dictator Mack has a lot of identity issues as he knows he's not supposed to be here and he knows Mark's supposed to exist in his place ( but he'll never tell anyone this ) Burt and him have a generally okay relationship but it can be toxic... Mack will use Burt for his own selfish needs often times dismissing Burt entirely. He doesn't hate Burt he more so thinks very little of them. Burt tries to help Mack as best he can due to his respect for him but it can difficult. Burt feels some responsibility to help Mack as they're the only one Mack has opened up to. ( Mack seriously needs therapy ).

The Detective:

— Super sweet about it

— If something ever bothers you, he’ll put his hands over your ears to muffle the sound and talk you through it to calm you down

— He’s more than willing to get you out of the loud situation if he can.

MadPat:

— Notices when he uses his chainsaw for the first time around you that it bothers you

— Asks about it, and is willing to listen while you explain, but…

— We all know how much he loves that chainsaw, he just can’t part with it

— (But he might avoid using it around you)

Mack (dictator):

— Probably rolls his eyes at your weakness

— He’s likely to tease you about it, if not use it against you (he’d get a power trip out of it)

— At least he would never let anyone else hurt you with your sensitivity

The Hermit:

— Noise is never an issue in his cave, hidden away from all civilization

— He’d learn to speak quieter for you if you needed it, and he’d be patient as you reminded him to speak gently while he learns

WarfPat:

— Uh oh

— He’s not exactly the quietest ego, but if you remind him enough, he’ll at least try for you. For a couple minutes, at least

— Trying to get him to quiet down would definitely be a challenge, both for you and for him, but I want to believe he’d make the attempt if he could

DarkPat:

— Probably the best ego when it comes to you being noise-sensitive

— If you get overwhelmed, he can easily pull you into the silence of his void, and allow you time to calm down with just him.

— Generally, unless he’s yelling, he’s a pretty quiet speaker as well, especially to you

Ness:

— He’s a lot like the Detective in the sense that he’d absolutely pull you away from the source of the loudness, or if he couldn’t, he’d also talk you through it

— He seems like the type to carry some earplugs in his pocket just for you, even if you never use them

I’ve got a new story I’m working on! It’s a fanfiction for the series In Space With Markiplier, and follows my OC, Rhys Williams, and their story as secretary for their cousin, Captain Carter Wheeler!

This is an OC x Canon story that does heavily focus on the relationship between the MC, Rhys, and their love interest, Mack. It also focuses on dealing with and overcoming childhood trauma, betrayals, and heartbreak.

It is currently rated T, though it is possible that as the story progresses that this could change. Ratings and Tags will be updated as needed!

There have been various attempts to show that these two worlds are not all that exists. Patrick Harpur's Daimonic Reality is one of the most eloquent expressions of that effort. Harpur defines another reality that he calls 'daimonic reality', a world of unseen agency that is always present and cuts across the objective/subjective divide. The ways of studying this world are different from the way we study either of the other two worlds, and Harpur invites us to develop a methodology for exploring this third realm. — John E. Allan Brown's work delves into the captivating world of crop circles, focusing on their geometric intricacies. In Greek mythology, 'daimon' signifies a minor deity or personified abstract concept. Derived from the Proto-Indo-European 'daimon,' meaning 'provider' or 'divider of fortunes and destinies,' daimons were often viewed as the souls of golden age men, tutelary deities, or fate's arbiters. Greek religion and mythology perceived daimons as intermediate entities between mortals and deities, akin to ghosts, chthonic heroes, spirit guides, nature forces, or even deities themselves. Hesiod's narrative portrays the golden age people transformed into daimons by Zeus to serve as mortals' guardian spirits, bestowing protection and good fortune.

Plato's "Cratylus" suggests that 'daimon' is synonymous with 'daēmōn,' meaning 'knowing or wise.' However, its origin is more likely from 'daio,' signifying 'to divide, distribute destinies, or allot.' In "Symposium," Plato portrays love as a 'great daimōn,' a mediator between the divine and mortal realms. In Plato's "Apology," Socrates mentions his 'daimonion,' a divine sign or self-awareness aspect, warning him against errors but never dictating actions.

Hellenistic Greeks categorized daimons into 'agathodaímōn' (noble spirit) and 'kakodaímōn' (malevolent spirit). These entities were believed to mediate the fortunes and misfortunes of human life, akin to the Christian guardian angel and demon. Greek mythology and art rarely depict daimons, yet their presence is felt. The Dionysian rituals' agathodaemon was honored with a libation, symbolized by the chthonic serpent. The daimons' concept evolved, and in the Roman imperial cult, the veneration of Augustus' numen blurred the divine and human distinction.

The study of crop circles and their geometric intricacies aligns with the daimon concept of seeking truth and wisdom. The symbolic and geometric mysteries within crop circles can be interpreted as manifestations of the collective unconscious, revealing concealed aspects of the psyche. Allan's journey from crop circles to his work as a weaver, spinner, and natural dyer led him to explore programming and computers. His engagement with crop circles, their symbolic and geometric enigmas, and his emphasis on personal growth and open-mindedness, resonates with Plato's philosophy. نتذكر المغامرة السينمائية المدهشة لشارلي شابلن الذي دخل غمار السينما الناطقة عبر فيلم "الديكتاتور العظيم  The Great Dictator " الذي سخر فيه عبر شخصية "الزعيم هنيكل"  من الزع��م النازي "آدولف هتلر Adolf Hitler " والأنظمة الفاشية (نتذكر مشهد تشابلن  وهو يلعب ببالون شبيه بالكرة الأرضية يجسد استعارة لحلم "هتلر" السيطرة على العالم.

WYNN (Crewmate)

This absolute sweetheart.

He is so wholesome.

He's also the youngest of the Pattersons. (Yep, they have a last name too)

5'0.

Trans (FTM) in almost every universe.

Full of energy and childlike wonder.

He loves bright colors and pastels.

Though light blue is his favorite.

His big heart believes everybody can be good, always willing to give a second chance.

Even if sometimes someone might not deserve a second chance...

He can be a little tone deaf sometimes, but mostly just when he's trying to clarify something without realizing it's personal.

MACK (Head Engineer)

The guy. The main dude.

Closest in actions to ISWM out of these 3. (Unless you only see Mack as a little shit, there's Richard for that.)

The middle child of the Pattersons, and its kind of obvious with how hard he fights for attention.

Though he's very contradicting.

He'll say not to touch him, then melt if someone shakes his hand.

Really, he's just trying to be cool and mysterious.

He wasn't always like that, he used to be more like Wynn, but some people hurt his heart in a way that can't be mended.

Physical touch makes his skin crawl, unless it's the right person.

His attachment issues are terrible.

So are his trust issues!

And problems with authority...

He's got a lot to unpack, but he's too stubborn to unpack it.

RICHARD (Dictator)

So, there's Mack, right? Imagine he got everything he wanted.

He turns into an even bigger asshole.

His ego is through the roof, being the leader of an entire colony.

The power goes straight to his head.

It may cost nothing to be nice, but it also cost nothing to be a dick, sooo...

His favorite color is red.

He's also usually popular in his universes.

Oh, and don't worry. He still has emotional baggage he'll never unpack.

He's only nice to people he really likes, so maybe you can get lucky!

Oh and his brothers.

He's very protective of those two.

4- has your character ever witnessed something that fundamentally changed them? if so, does anyone else know?

i mean this isn't Quite what the question is going for, but mack's whole idea for the Fellowship in the first place came from a weird dream vision thing brought upon by a severe lack of sleep. what probably happened was he passed out for a few seconds, had some crazy dream, woke up, and thought he had never fallen asleep (does that ever happen to you). this is the first scene. he calls michael immediately, who doesn't quite get it. but hallucinating for half a minute that he had managed to become such a new version of himself that he wasn't miserable anymore really was the catalyst for. everything.

6/7- does your character have recurring themes in their dreams/nightmares?

it's rare that he is asleep long enough to have dreams in the first place, but when he does, as seen above, they're usually weird. sometimes like "what in the world" weird, and sometimes like "warrants a therapist" weird. his concepts of what differentiates between a dream and a nightmare are a bit odd. he can dream about being a ruthless, heartless dictator who doesn't bat an eye at endless control. then he can dream about actually having a genuine conversation with his closest friends, about topics that are Real and The Truth. one's a dream and one's a nightmare. i'll let you figure out which is which

Do you think Dictator Gunther would get along well with Dictator Mack, or would they be more like rivals?
