Burack Rant
"FUCK IT SO MUUUUUCH" here's my burack ship thread post cause I need to ramble about them feel free to not read this I just need to let my silly little thoughts out 😁
Burack is a ship that consists of Burt and Mack from In Space with Markiplier (ISWM) They have three ships names ship name number one is burack; which is just their names joint together
Now before I get to the other two ship names I have to say Mack has two variations Crew Member Mack (pictured on the left) and Dictator/Head Engineer Mack (pictured on the right) and Burt is a reactor specialist so his title is featured in both ship names
It should also be said that these are both Mack but in different universes, in crew member Mack's universe he isn't head engineer (though we can assume he is an engineer) and in the universe where he is Head engineer he basically takes over the role of engineer mark (pictured)
(cont.) who is basically the captain's (/y/n's) right hand man but in a universe where Mack is head engineer we see that he takes on a lot more of a dictator role if you allow him to take control of the ship, if you don't allow him to do this he essentially has an identity crisis and becomes mark (don't ask)
So thus their other two ship names are born with their second ship name being theoryreactor: it's a mix of Mack's crew self (seeing as he's simply deemed theory crew in the credits) and Burt's title of reactor specialist
It is likely Mack is deemed "theory crew" in this universe due to being played by matpat (creator of game, film, food, and style theory) that leads us to our third ship name corruptreactor: which is a combination of dictator mack and burt's reactor specialist title
Corrupt refers to how Mack is a very corrupt leader who takes advantage of those he rules over. Generally speaking I usually alternate their ship names but if I wanna get more specific these are the ships names I use.
Burack; all Burt and Mack variants
Theoryreactor; crew member Mack/all Macks [This is pretty much their default name that I lean to] - I also think theoryreactor is funny because someone can react to a theory and be a theory reactor.. idk
Corruptreactor; dictator Mack
Corrupttheory; evil/dictator Burt (very rare variation that is usually only based on au/HC)
No real distinction between ships names but if only one of them is evil or dictatory it's likely one sided (and angsty!)
Okay now that we got all their general info out of the way here are my headcanons for them!
Burt is trans guy but he doesn't really care what pronouns you use on them, they're just here. He's also panromantic and asexual. I give him a lot of angst but I swear I love him!
For example Burt had a husband and 2 children on earth but his husband died a year prior to him going on the space ship and he had to leave his children on the dying planet earth knowing they would die. ( I am evil ) Burt now feels guilty pursuing relationships. Due to how recent his husband's death was (or maybe it's been decades at this point who knows) he still feels bad and just pushes his feelings for Mack aside. That's all for Burt but now let's talk about Mack...
Mack is trans? (I really don't know I just know they're not cis...) they use they/he/it pronouns. He's also aromantic and gay. Crew Member Mack often finds himself unintentionally competing with Mark often feeling unworthy and like he doesn't deserve his job as crew member. Burt and him have a good relationship and Burt continues to tell them they're worthy, but Mack isn't able to take the praise as truth as he doesn't have a lot of friends or people who like them on the crew, they believe Burt's only friends with them out of pity. Hence why they often end up pushing her away.
Dictator Mack has a lot of identity issues as he knows he's not supposed to be here and he knows Mark's supposed to exist in his place ( but he'll never tell anyone this ) Burt and him have a generally okay relationship but it can be toxic... Mack will use Burt for his own selfish needs often times dismissing Burt entirely. He doesn't hate Burt he more so thinks very little of them. Burt tries to help Mack as best he can due to his respect for him but it can difficult. Burt feels some responsibility to help Mack as they're the only one Mack has opened up to. ( Mack seriously needs therapy ).
that's all for now friends if you read all the way here you get a cookie! 🍪

No two people in Washington are worshiped more than the Obamas are. But the narratives about their speeches are dishonest, telling half-truths and only parts of the story.
Michelle opened her speech by uttering the phrase "hope" and calling for "change." America could certainly use both. Americans are approaching record levels of unhappiness. A Gallup poll found that America is only the 23rd happiest country on the globe.
However, Democrats have controlled the White House for 12 of the past 16 years. Michelle's husband was the president for eight of those years. Democrats have had time to stir change and inspire hope.
They haven't. Rather, the gap between the ruling class and the working class has widened substantially.

Paul Hollywood, you’ve gone too far.
Recently, the celebrity chef and co-host of “The Great British Baking Show” took to Instagram to share a hot take about Jewish food. Namely, that he thinks pickles are “absolutely disgusting.” In the approximately 30-second video shared on @britishbakeoff, Hollywood goes on a diatribe against the fermented cucumber. “As far as I’m concerned, they’re straight from hell,” he opens. He proceeds to bash pickles’ taste and appearance, comparing the popular snack to slugs and saying they “look terrible” and are “not human food at all.”
We here at The Nosher could not disagree more. Pickles are a sour, bubbly and crunchy symphony of flavor. They’re a delicacy, and what’s more, they are an integral part of the Jewish menu. (Though, pickled vegetables are prominent in many cuisines across the globe, and not exclusive to Jewish food.) As Nosher Senior Editor Rachel Myerson once wrote, “[Pickles] were ever-present on my grandmother’s Shabbat table alongside chopped liver and egg and onion, a permanent chaperone to the pastrami sandwich at Jewish delis, and packed into self-serve containers at falafel and sabich shops in Israel.”
Additionally, Jews are central to the story of how pickles became so popular in the United States; Jewish immigrants in the late 19th and early 20th centuries helped to bring pickles into the American consciousness through their sale of Kosher Dills and Half-Sours.
This isn’t the first time Paul Hollywood has gotten Jewish food wrong. Famously, in season five, episode 2 of “The Great British Baking Show,” the contestants were challenged to make Hollywood’s recipe for an eight-strand “plaited loaf” with an even, golden bake. Not once during the episode does Paul or anyone else use the word “challah.” Even worse, when judging the “plaited loaves,” Hollywood claims “[braiding bread] is a skill which is dying off.” Considering the fact that Jews have braided challah for centuries and many continue to do so on Shabbat every week, Hollywood’s claim is simply not true. As Emily Burack wrote at the time, “It is quite possible that Paul, and everyone else on the show, has no Jewish friends.”
The entry for Paul Hollywood’s plaited loaf recipe in his 2012 cookbook “How to Bake” is equally misguided. First, the recipe is titled “Cholla Loaf,” which spells challah in a way that no Jewish person has likely ever spelled it. Additionally, he writes in the recipe description that challah is “traditionally served at Passover,” a holiday where Jews avoid eating bread and other leavened products.
Paul’s lack of accurate knowledge when it comes to Jewish food came up once more in season eight of “The Great British Baking Show,” when the contestants were challenged to make twisted rainbow bagels; another of Hollywood’s recipes that is inspired by Jewish food.
“Paul Hollywood, neither a New Yorker nor Jewish, is a recognized expert in bread. But it was clear from this technical challenge that he has no idea how to make a proper New York bagel,” Shannon Sarna wrote in 2020. “At some point while tasting the results of the challenge, he even commented that a crispy exterior means that the bagel is overdone. I’m not sure he has ever visited New York City, or even tasted a bagel.”
Yikes. What’s next, Paul? Will you verbally assault lox? Claim bourekas are triangle hot pockets? Where does the madness end? We humbly suggest that whether it’s challah, bagels or pickles, you perhaps consider leaving the Jewish food recipes and hot takes to the experts.

Nicola Walker's appearing in another historical (for the first time in what seems like ages!)
Everything We Know About Mary & George
BY EMILY BURACK PUBLISHED: NOV 16, 2023
Mary & George, a new period drama which will chronicle the affair between King James I and George Villiers, Duke of Buckingham, promises to be one of the most highly anticipated shows of 2024.
In fact, the romance between the two is referenced in Casey McQuiston's Red, White, & Royal Blue novel, wherein the fictional Prince Henry writes, "I feel that James I, who fell madly in love with a very fit and exceptionally dim knight at a tilting match and immediately made him a gentleman of the bedchamber (a real title), would take mercy upon my particular plight." In a fun turn of events, actor Nicholas Galitzine stars as both Henry in Red, White, and Royal Blue and as the "very fit knight," a.k.a. George, Duke of Buckingham.
Here's everything we know about Mary & George so far:
It's based on a true story.
Mary & George is adapted from The King's Assassin by Benjamin Woolley, a nonfiction book that details "the conspiracy to kill King James I by his handsome lover, the Duke of Buckingham."
Per Sky Atlantic, "Mary & George is inspired by the unbelievable true story of Mary Villiers, who moulded her beautiful and charismatic son, George, to seduce King James VI of Scotland and I of England and become his all-powerful lover. Through outrageous scheming, the pair rose from humble beginnings to become the richest, most titled and influential players the English court had ever seen, and the King’s most trusted advisors. And with England’s place on the world stage under threat from a Spanish invasion and rioters taking to the streets to denounce the King, the stakes could not have been higher."
Galitzine is also set to star in Red, White, and Royal Blue this year.SKY AND AMC
The plot continues: "Prepared to stop at nothing and armed with her ruthless political steel, Mary married her way up the ranks, bribed politicians, colluded with criminals and clawed her way into the heart of the Establishment, making it her own. Mary & George is a dangerously daring historical psychodrama about an outrageous mother and son who schemed, seduced, and killed to conquer the court of England and the bed of King James."
Julianne Moore and Nicholas Galitzine lead the cast.

On this day:
WITCHCRAFT DISAPPEARS IN TRIANGLE
On the evening of December 22, 1967, hotelier Dan Burack and his friend, Father Patrick Hogan, left a Miami marina in Burack's twenty-three-foot cabin cruiser, Witchcraft. Burack was the ultimate safety man and had installed plenty of lifesaving gear, as well as having flotation built into the craft so that even if the vessel capsized, some part of it would remain above water. The two men planned to head a short distance out into the bay to view the Christmas lights of the city.
They had reached Buoy #7, less than a mile from shore, when Burack sent a message to the coast guard that he had been hit by something from below and would need a tow back to the marina. He said that there was no emergency. If the situation changed, he was ready to fire flares to direct the coast guard to his exact position.
Responding immediately, the coast guard reached the area in less than twenty minutes. Searchlight beams flooded the area, but there was no sign of the "unsinkable" boat or any debris, lifejackets, or passengers in the water. Over the next six days the search had spread out to cover 24,500 square miles, but no trace of the yacht was found. There was no indication that it sank, yet it had disappeared so quickly that there had been no time for Burack to fire a flare, and was lost so thoroughly that there was no evidence it had ever existed.

HOT TAKES: Democrats, Media Seethe As Republicans Cheer After Vance Dominates Vice Presidential Debate
I don't know what the viewership numbers were on the vice presidential debate between Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, but they're not as high as they should have been because that was one of the best debates I've ever watched in my time as a political junkie (which goes back a looong time).
Vance, as RedState previously reported, wiped the floor not just with Walz but also the CBS News debate moderators, who did what they weren't supposed to do at least twice in "fact-checking" Vance, only to have him refuse to be silenced by fact-checking them right back.
READ MORE-->>WATCH: JD Vance Just Flattens Smug 'Fact Checking' CBS News Mods in Epic Fashion on Springfield Topic
There is no question here who won the debate, with pollsters and even some in the media saying in so many words that Vance was the victor:
— Townhall.com (@townhallcom) October 2, 2024
ABC's Jonathan Karl: "I've got to say...Walz did seem unsteady and, frankly, what I saw in Walz is somebody who has not faced questions on...He was simply out of practice...JD Vance was very smooth. He took the arguments...to Kamala Harris. Overall, a tone of civility" pic.twitter.com/hxxUUtMWFO— Curtis Houck (@CurtisHouck) October 2, 2024
Dems are fortunate presidential debates tend to matter a lot more than VP debates.— Dave Wasserman (@Redistrict) October 2, 2024
New York Times. pic.twitter.com/1FkoXMA072— Andy Ngo 🏳️🌈 (@MrAndyNgo) October 2, 2024
Meanwhile, on the conservative side of things:
JD Vance just gave a debate masterclass. It’s not easy doing that on the national stage for the first time. To thoroughly master the facts, effectively attack your opponent’s record and still remain likable and relatable is more than difficult. He crushed it.— Neil Patel (@NeilPatelTDC) October 2, 2024
— Saagar Enjeti (@esaagar) October 2, 2024

And perhaps the best one of all:
"Sell Walz, buy Vance" pic.twitter.com/L2t2tzyNKB— Comfortably Smug (@ComfortablySmug) October 2, 2024
Obama and Pelosi are about to replace Walz.— Bobby Burack (@burackbobby_) October 2, 2024
But with who?
Kamala Harris introduces her new running mate tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/RSVE5bsLRE— Stephen L. Miller (@redsteeze) October 2, 2024
After what happened in July, I wouldn't put it past them.
On the other hand, the struggle is real at this difficult time for Democrats:
Here's the thing: VPs don't make policy. Presidents do. Who talks about the Pence years?!?— David Axelrod (@davidaxelrod) October 2, 2024
I actually think most Americans fundamentally understand that the VP is not the President.— Claire McCaskill (@clairecmc) October 2, 2024
But as we've seen over the last three and a half years, sometimes the POTUS is not actually the POTUS, which is precisely why this debate was so important.
As I've said before, if there's anything Joe Biden's presidency has shown us beyond a shadow of a doubt is that vice presidential picks very much matter and can be very consequential on down the line - and sometimes much sooner than anticipated, as has been the case with Harris.
In any event, hats off to JD Vance, who if nothing else made vice presidential debates great again with his stellar performance on the debate stage.
