Mafia AU with the batfamily, but it starts when Jason comes back as the Red Hood.
In this AU, Dick is the first one to find out about Jason being a crime lord. He finds out that his little brother is alive and running a gang and says "fuck it."
Is Dick currently a police officer and vigilante? Yes. Does he also immediately quit his day job to join Red Hood's gang as soon as finds out? Also yes.
Dick has a second chance with his brother. Is this brother a little murderous? Sure. Dick's tried to kill people too, though. Also, Dick is 83% sure Tim's got a kill count. It's fine.
So Jason is confused why Dick is willing to join a gang. The oldest brother says some cringe worthy stuff about family and Jason takes the action as the proof of love and loyalty it is (also, somehow Dick is just as terrifying to their enemies as Red Hood, but Dick doesn't kill them).
Tim, upon seeing Dick join a gang, instantly researches the hell out of this group. He finds out it's Jason, runs the stats for how crime has dropped in Crime Alley, and instantly starts working behind the scenes to create a smoother path for them. Without meaning to, Tim becomes the shadow boss for Jason's gang. The brothers are not aware that the other gangs, mobs, and rogues are wary of whomever it is that's smoothly guiding Red Hood's gang to success.
Red Hood is the face, Nightwing (though maybe a different moniker) is his right-hand man, and there's someone steering them to victory.
The startling efficiency of the gang and quick ascent drives Bruce into a paranoid bender. The man also has no clue where Dick wandered off to and why he's ignorning Bruce. Tim, as Robin, pretends to try to help Batman take down this group. This causes mass amounts of confusion because no one is aware that Tim is helping Hood besides Tim himself.
When Damian first appears in Gotham, he doesn't immediately go to Wayne Manor. He stalks it first. And what does he find? Tim is apparently shadow controlling a major mafia in Gotham.
As some convulted plan to dethrone Tim from Robin (and also because Damian is not aware that shadow controlling a gang is against Bruce's rules [like how he doesn't know murder is a big no no]), Damian decides to infiltrate Jason's gang. At first it's rocky cause Jason doesn't want kids in that line of work, but Damian being Talia's kid (and the chance to provide Damian a better childhood) has Jason and Dick adopting the child. They try to keep the runt out of the work as much as possible.
They all (minus Tim) grow closer until one night Damian overhears Jason lamenting to Dick about how the Joker is still alive. Jason hates that his father never avenged him.
Damian decides to fix that by killing the Joker.
When Dick and Jason confront Damian about this, he reveals Tim is controlling their entire mafia from the shadows.

Dick Grayson Angst
I'm in a mood and I just really needed to write some angst. I have found a depressing shortage of Dick angst. There is so much angst for Jason, Tim and even Damian but I feel a deep lack of Dick angst. As the oldest child in a large family with a dead brother, I feel it is my duty to provide (he just like me fr)
I can't spell very well bc of my dyslexia, I do have Grammarly on but it misses some things so I can't promise that everything in this post will be legible, I just really needed to get this down.
TW: oldest child/good child syndrome, mentioned noncon, death, canon typical violence, (I'm sorry to all my can-do-no-wrong Batdad fans but I’m sticking to canon Batman here) child abuse, emotional/physical abuse.
• Dick is the oldest, that much is a given. But as the oldest he was the “guinea pig” or the “experiment” child of the family. He's seen it all. Bruce had no idea how to raise a child so any parenting skills, good and bad (mostly bad) were tested out on Dick.
• It's no secret that Jason was the favorite Robin out of the two of them. Dick knew it. But come on! Jason came from the shittiest of situations, he was a street rat, and his mom was an addict. Of course, he was happy when Bruce took him in. Bruce was probably a Saint compared to the things Jason had lived through. Dick on the other hand came from a loving family. Two parents who would do anything for him, showering him with love and praise. So when he was suddenly taken in, taught to be a vigilante by a man that would hit him, yell at him, was cold, showed no emotion except rage, pretended to love him unconditionally in front of the Press, show him little to no love behind closed doors. Do you really think Dick was going to just be happy-go-lucky?
• Dick sees each one of his younger siblings as his charge. When he gets a new one, (whether he likes it or not) he takes over as big bro immediately, feeling like it's his responsibility to raise them in areas bats never could. I feel like he wants to be a shield between his sibling and their father. Most of the newer kids will never know about the man Bruce was when it was just one Robin. Cold, mean, unforgiving. But he would show them lobe in places where Bruse was still lacking.
•He probably resents Bruce in some way for it. He can’t show it though. The man took him in when he had nothing. But if Bruce is capable of loving the family he has now. Why couldn’t he love Dick then back when he needed him the most? Of course that doesn’t change the fact that he will *always* come back to Bruce. It doesn’t matter how much shit Bruce puts him through, he would never leave Bruce forever. He loves him more than anything and would always but Bruce first, right along with his siblings.
• Dick has a problem with putting his sibling needs first. You will rarely catch him being sad or vulnerable in front of his family members. This is funny because he’s always the one encouraging his family to feel their emotions and let things out when they need to. He's always there when they need to vent, ready to listen and to be a shoulder to cry on.
• He can’t be sad though. He the happiest person, he has to be happy to help navigate the angst. He’s the glue. The strong hold of the family. When there’s a fight (mostly between a sibling and their emotionally stunted father) Dick will play the mediator every time.
• I feel like Tim reminded Dick of Bruce a little too much. So, yes, Dick loves Tim. Of course he does. But Tim is also pretty emotionally stunted. Meanwhile Damien is a ball of rage. Damien is so obviously autistic (I have much reasoning for this one but I can get into another day) and needs so much patience and love. Dick threw himself wholeheartedly into his youngest brother. Their dad was “dead” and he had nothing left so he used raising the boy as a way to cope, even if it meant leaving Tim in the shadows.
• He regrets leaving Tim the way he did. But he just couldn't handle it at the time. He would later believe himself to be turning into Bruce. The thought alone causes Dick to break down. He hates hurting his sibling more than anything, he would die for anyone of them and it hurts him to know they hurt.
• Dick has a problem with wanting to fix everything and everyone. Even his own friends and team members. He probably doesn’t even recognize it, but whenever he is forced to come to grips with the fact that he can’t help a certain person it eats at him.
• He uses sex as a coping mechanism. It’s no secret to anyone that he has slept with *a lot* of people. He thinks sex is the only way to get people to love him because he doesn’t really understand what a healthy relationship looks like. It gets him into situations that he doesn’t want to be in. But he believes he deserves it when those things happen because it means he’s loved. He's only ever had Playboy Bruce to truly base a relationship off of, not remembering his parents relationship well enough.
• Leading off of the last point, he doesn’t know how to say no. He will agree to even the worst of things because he craves the validation that comes from doing things for people, no matter the cost to himself. He will end up piling favors on top of favors until it becomes so overwhelming he breaks.
• He probably breaks in manic sort of way. Like, he will go out of his way to deny that anything is wrong and let everything build for weeks to months until it bubbles over and he just goes nuts. It’s mostly a self destructive sort of nuts though. He might panic and clean his apartment until his fingers are raw from cleaning chemicals, maybe he will throw himself into a fight he knows he can’t handle just to get beat up. He might throw out everything he owns before panicking at what he’s done and go back in search of the things he just tossed. But all the while he would go out of his way to make sure no one knew what was happening.
• Being Robin, being the “oldest”, being the one to raise his younger siblings, to create a path for them to follow while also guiding to follow their own paths. He lost who he was. Who is Dick Grayson if not a vigilante? Who is the person behind the mask? He doesn't know. It's why he left. It's why Bruce was so angry. Dick was supposed to be his protege, but that isn't the life Dick wanted. And when Jason died, the only piece that Dick had of himself, that part that was a brother, the last that finally had a *close* friend, died right along with him. Even after Jason came back, Dick never really found that piece of himself again. Dick left to Bludhaven to finally find himself. But the cowl would forever remain a piece of him that he could not shake.
• Bruce is probably trying to be a better parent/person. Dick is proud of him, but he still doesn't fully trust it and Bruce knows that. But Bruce won't do anything, especially not apologize for the things he’s done to his eldest. But Bruce will tell him he’s proud of the person Dick has become. That probably tears Dick to pieces for reasons he doesn’t understand. He probably has been waiting for the praise his whole life and now that he has it it makes him sick in a way he can't comprehend.
• There are days that he is almost %100 sure that the only reason he keeps going is because of his family. Not his precinct, not whatever one sided relationship he’s found himself in (until Barbara that is, but even she counts as family) not his job, not his friends, not even himself. He’s living for his family. Even when his family is falling apart at the seems, he is still living for them. It’s tiring, sure. But he does it because it’s all he’s ever known. Living for Bruce for years, living for Jason and Alfred and Barbara then for Tim and Damien, then Steph and Cass and Duke. It’s what he does. It’s what he knows.
I can keep going but this is getting kind of long and it's late and I have to be up early in the morning. Let me know if you want more or, anything specific! I want to write more so ask me anything!
🌼🐛
He's bringing you a flower 🥹

Chapter Fourteen: Baby's Breath
His tenth nightmare or hallucination in three days. Ra's didn't allow anyone to see Jason during that time. The first two days, all Jason did was sleep and wake up screaming, but the third day was different. Jason sat up in a panic, but there was no screaming. Ra's waited for Jason to speak, but he didn't have anything to say. Instead, Jason broke down and wept. Ra's hesitated before wrapping his arms around Jason. "It's alright-."
"I'm sorry I failed you-."
"You wouldn't have fallen had you not been ill. In fact, I'm proud of how you carried yourself despite your attraction to Saru," Ra's grinned.
Jason blushed and pulled his shirt up over his mouth. "Is it obvious?" Jason asked. Ra's shook his head.
"But you are attracted to her?" Ra's questioned. Jason sank into his pillow as he nodded. It was just Jason's luck that Ra's decided to show his more casual side as soon as Jason developed his first crush. He wasn't sure if he preferred this side of Ra's or the cold and distant one. "Jason... I've been thinking. I was going to send you on another assignment straight away, but I've decided I'll give you a choice." Ra's was sincere, and Jason felt like he was being tested.
"Would you like me to go?" Jason asked.
"It's not a test. I'm asking you what you want," Ra's replied.
Jason answered without thinking and wasn't sure he said the right thing. He didn't get a chance to ask Ra's anything further before Ra's left him alone in the room. Jason climbed out of bed and tried to follow Ra's into the hallway, but it was empty. He awakened with a start and nearly screamed as he met eyes with the Ra's he knew. "I'm not dreaming, am I?" Jason questioned. Ra's felt Jason's forehead.
"What did you dream about?" Ra's asked. Jason bowed his head.
"You want to send me away again... Don't you?" Jason mumbled. He bowed his head and hid his face in his hands. Ra's took Jason's wrists and shook his head.
"No, that's not what I wanted to talk to you about," Ra's whispered as he felt the healed wound on the back of Jason's head. "Restored..."
"I'm ready to do whatever you ask," Jason replied.
"Good... Go see your mother and get some rest. There'll be no training for you today or tomorrow," Ra's commanded as he helped Jason out of bed. Jason looked into Ra's' eyes hoping for approval or forgiveness for his failure. "You're an al Ghul in every sense of the name. Now go to your mother."
Jason smiled and stepped forward until he mustered the courage to embrace Ra's. "Thank you for accepting me. You have my undying loyalty," Jason swore to him. Ra's wrapped his arms around Jason, and he let go. He seemed confused by the outward display of affection, but it didn't shake him the way it would've shaken Jason had the tables been turned.
Jason ran down the hall, searching for Talia, and she grabbed him, cradling his face in her palms. "You must be starving," Talia smiled. Jason nodded and embraced her. She kissed the top of his head and led him to the kitchen. "I worried you wouldn't be on your feet this early."
"Is Damian awake?" Jason asked.
Talia nodded. "He's in the kitchen. He's eating a snack before training," Talia replied as she wove her fingers through his curls. "It's midday... I'm sure something is cooking for lunch."
Jason took her hand and followed her to the kitchen, where Damian sat at the counter eating jicama. Jason snuck up on Damian and wrapped his arms around the child. "Could I sit on your training today?" Jason requested.
"Gē! Of course," Damian replied excitedly. Jason smiled and sat next to him as he grabbed a bite of Damian's raw vegetables. Talia looked fondly upon her sons as they ate and whispered for one of the cooks to serve Jason's dinner early.
Talia told him he wouldn't be training until the week's end as he gorged himself on his meal. "You've grown," Talia noted out loud.
"I have?" Jason asked. Damian nodded.
Talia nodded. Jason beamed and pulled his hair back into a bun before returning to his meal. Damian waited patiently for Jason to eat. Once Jason finished his meal, he picked Damian up and spun him around. "Di, you ready to go?" Jason asked. Damian nodded as Jason set him down. "Are you training with Saru again?"
Damian covered his mouth, and Talia shot him a glance. "Didi," Talia warned.
"But she told me," Damian whispered loudly.
Jason's eyes widened, and he crouched down to meet his eyes with Damian's. "Didi," Jason sternly whispered, "What did she tell you? Did Saru say something about me? Because I'm willing to fight her again. I'm not afraid of her." Jason's heart raced as he considered the prospect of seeing her again.
"Do you want me to tell her you'll fight her?" Damian asked.
"In four days... Ra's won't let me fight before then," Jason replied, "Will you go tell her for me?"
Damian nodded and pressed a kiss to Jason's cheek before running off. Talia smiled and shook her head. "Can we talk later?" Talia asked. Jason nodded. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm confused... I feel like things are different than before I left," Jason confessed as he followed her to the training room.
"Is it frightening for you?" Talia asked.
"Ra's said something kind to me," Jason replied. Talia stopped in her tracks.
"He did?" Talia questioned. She knew it wasn't in her father's nature to give a kind word without reason. It wasn't something that came easy for him.
"He said I was an al Ghul," Jason answered. She nodded.
"Never think otherwise," Talia grinned.

Rose (or any of Slade's kids/Dick's siblings) getting a message about urgent matter and them needing help and when she arrives they just hand her over their baby (omegaverse or adopted) and leave for a date
Oh my, this is amazing 🤣🤣💕 I can imagine that they do this quite a lot (most of the time it's Dick's idea haha) and it works everytime! Their families aren't very happy with them because of it but in the end they get to spend more time with the kiddo so it's okay 😂💕 Thank you for the ask!! Now for the story 😚 (Quick warning; it is omegaverse!)
/ / / / /
Rose rushed up the stairs, cursing under her breath at the broken elevator. Out of all days, it had to break exactly today when she got a mysterious message from her dad (who literally never texted her first!). Well, the message wasn't exactly mysterious – it was very simple actually, only four words, but the lack of information had her stressing over it much more than it would otherwise.
Need help. Come quickly.
Rose read it over a dozen times already, looking for something more, for some hidden clues, anything. But that was... it. Nothing less, nothing more. Which actually made sense too, because Slade wasn't exactly a man of many words and his textings usually limited to short, specific information just like the one she got. Still, it would've been nice to know what exactly he got himself into this time and what was expected of her in this situation.
In the end, it didn't really matter. Slade had to be in some real deep shit to ask for her help like that and there was no way Rose would refuse to help him out of it. No matter what happened in the past between them – they were a family now, a pack. It took her only a few minutes to gear up and be on her way to Slade's apartment.
The stairs were a bit of a pain in the ass – why did Slade have to live so high up anyway? - but it was nothing compared to the training her dad used to put her through so she dealt with them quickly as well. At first she considered climbing the side of the building but it was still bright outside and she didn't want to risk anyone seeing her. She still had no idea what exactly Slade needed help with so she had to play it safe for now.
The whole floor was quiet when she got there, no sounds of fight or struggle, not even a faintest smell of an angry or hurt alpha. Rose silently stepped over to the right door and pressed herself close to it. Still no sound, no smell, nothing at all. She frowned, that wasn't a good sign. Slade wouldn't just give up without a fight so whoever it was that attacked him, probably had him already knocked out, patches on his glands to neutralize his scent.
Or... or worse yet, he could already not even be here. Rose could be too late and Slade had been taken away and that's why she couldn't hear or smell anything. Either way, no good. Rose unholstered her gun and made sure the silencer was attached properly. They really didn't need all the neighbors screaming and panicking at the mere sounds of the gunshot.
Slowly, she tested the door's handle and... the door was open. Yeah, alright, that made the whole thing a lot easier. Rose knew exactly how secure Slade's safehouses were – she got her fingers burned a few times in the past when she was trying to get inside – but she could bypass them with enough time. Time she didn't have now. Especially with the way she could hear the quiet sound of footsteps and rustling now that the door was actually open. Someone was still inside.
With a steady hand on the handle, Rose took a deep breath and prepared herself to pound.
And then kicked the door open and aimed, only to stand face to face with Dick fucking Grayson, holding his sleeping son on his hip. Dick looked up at her slowly, entirely at ease despite the loud entry and the gun literally aimed at his face and beamed when he saw her.
”Rosie!” he called out happily, as loud as he could with a sleeping pup in his arms and rushed over to her to scent her thoroughly. Rose let him do it, still too busy trying to understand the situation to pull away from him in time. ”You're finally here, thank God. Here, careful.”
Dick passed the pup over to her and Rose quickly holstered the gun to be able to hold him with her two hands. She held him a few times already but she was still afraid that she'll hurt the pup by not holding him properly and so she always made sure to be extra gentle and careful.
”Dick? Wait, what are you-”
”Jaden won't say hi right now because he had a very exciting day of playing and needs to rest but I'm sure he'll greet you properly as soon as he wakes up.” Dick smiled at her before pressing a kiss to the pup's little head. ”He'll be very happy to see you, I bet, since it's been so long since you last visited! But it's okay, I'm not mad, I know how busy you're now, Rosie. Oh, maybe we can schedule dinner next week! That'll be great, you need to text me when you're free-”
Dick babbled on while moving back to the mirror to fix his hair a little. Only then Rose noticed how nice he looked, dressed in the silky shirt with a pretty low neckline that showed off his collarbones and black pants that hugged his ass just right. But... what was he doing here? Did he get a similar text from Slade and they were meant to work together? Maybe he knew more than she did and that's why he's acting so confident and at ease.
”Wha- what's going on here?” Rose asked.
A quick look around the apartment told her that there were no signs of a fight here as well. Everything was in its place beside the mess of the blankets that were pooled on one of the couches (that was probably Dick's doing). Nothing smelled like any kind of aggression or distress there either – the only scents reaching her nose were those of a content omega, pleased alpha and the milky mix of these both that was the pup. ”Where's dad?”
”I'm here.” Slade called, walking into the room. The tension slipped off of Rose's shoulders immediately at his sight. So it wasn't any immediate danger.
”Dad.” she breathed out in relief before she was able to stop herself. Not wanting to show how worried she really was, she twisted her face in a scowl. If she wasn't holding Jaden, she would cross her arms too. ”Next time I'd prefer some more information than just 'need help'.”
Slade chuckled, not even looking up at her from the cuffs of his shirt he was busy adjusting. ”Thanks for coming so quickly, Rose.”
”Yeah, but-” Rose looked him over too. Slade was wearing a black three piece suit that laid on him like a second skin would. His hair was styled into a classy bun, instead of the messy ponytail Rose was so used to seeing him in lately. It made her feel pretty out of place – she was only dressed in a black gear meant for stealth missions that was nowhere near classy to what they had on. ”Why are you both dressed like that? Are we going on some undercover mission? Why didn't you tell me?”
”Because there's no mission at all, Rosie.” Dick told her calmly and walked over to Slade to tighten his tie with a fond smile on his lips. The alpha placed his hands on Dick's waist, leaning down like he wanted to kiss him but stopped himself. Good. Despite accepting their relationship some time ago already, Rose really didn't want to see that. ”It's a night off.”
”...Night off.” Rose echoed in disbelief. The slightly angry scent she unconsciously let out made Jaden move a bit and she did her best to hold it in to not upset him. ”A night off? Dad texted me, which he never does, and I rushed here because I thought that he's in danger! And you're telling me that there's no mission at all?!”
”Stop screaming.” Slade scolded her, gaze narrowing.
Rose listened to him, lips pressed into a thin line, only because she was still holding Jaden and didn't want to wake him up. But she was still angry and a bit of her scent seeped out, making the pup whimper in his sleep.
Dick was by her side in the blink of an eye and scenting both of them to calm them. Rose really hated the fact that it worked.
”There's no need to get upset.” he murmured with a smile that seemed to never leave his face. ”It's good that Slade isn't in any danger, right?”
”...right.”
”Well, if you really think about it, there's a mission for you alright, Rose.” Slade hummed. He made sure he had his keys and wallet, before crossing over the room to press a kiss to Jaden's cheek. Dick was already in the hallway, putting his coat on. ”The milk's in the kitchen, you can feed Jaden in an hour but if he's still sleeping by then do not wake him up. Diapers are in the nursery – we put them on the table so you won't be able to miss them. Most of his toys are in the nursery as well, shouldn't be a problem but if he'd somehow grow tired of all of them just give him the elephant plushie.”
”But-”
Slade stopped in the middle of putting on his jacket to look her dead in the eye, ”Anything else you might need is written on the list on the fridge. Do not call me.”
”Have fun you two!” Dick hugged her briefly and looked at Jaden with a loving look, scenting him for the last time. ”Bye, my little robin. Try not to be too fussy for your older sister, hmm?”
”Wait!” Rose panicked. Everything was happening so quickly - they were already halfway out of the door. ”Where are you going?!"
”On a date!” Dick beamed again. ”We haven't been on one in forever so you're a real lifesaver. See you later!”
Slade grunted something as a goodbye and wrapped his arm around Dick's waist to hold him closer before walking out of the apartment. And Rose? Rose could do nothing more than just stare after them in shock, even minutes after they already disappeared behind the door.
She got tricked into being a babysitter.

Prompt 2
G-rated JayDick fluff with children
Warning: While this is mostly G-rated fluff there is talk of infertility so...
Jason had been happily married to Dick Grayson for several years now. They had gone from dating to married within a year and had soon brought their beautiful daughter Irina into the world. Jason had been content with their family size for the better part of three years, but now he can’t help feeling like his family needs a new addition.
As part of a big family it seems wrong to let his daughter be an only child, and the thought of having another baby in their home fills him with such joy that he just has to ask Dick. They don’t talk for long before they agree that the only obstacle in their path is Irina.
While a new addition would be welcome by them, they can’t help but worrying that their daughter won’t feel the same way. So they plan a picnic, make sure to buy her ice cream and then drop the idea on her.
“Irina, how would you feel about a baby brother or sister?” Dick asks as their daughter spoons another bite of strawberry ice cream into her mouth.
“I don’t know. Why would I want one? Do they do anything?” she replies.
Jason stifles a chuckle as he wipes her face free of ice cream.
“A baby doesn’t do much, but when they get older you can play with them. Tim’s my younger brother, and he’s pretty cool isn’t he?” Jason asks.
“I do like uncle Tim, but I don’t know if I want a sibling. What if they’re mean or don’t like me?” she begins pouting and Dick tickles her to distract her.
“Daddy stop! She screams out as she wiggles away. Jason’s quick to scoop her up and bring her close.
“Your sibling is going to love you just like we do. Besides your uncle Damian was mean when he was younger, but he certainly isn’t anymore.”
“Okay, I guess you can give me a sibling, but,” she scrunches up her little face in concentration as she asks “where do you buy one?”
***
After that day in the park he and Dick planned. They painted a nursery, decorating it with furniture and soft items. They made sure Jason went to the doctor to get a meal plan in place and he went of his birth control.
After the first heat they had waited three weeks to buy pregnancy tests and waited. They were disappointed by the five negatives they received but didn’t let it stop them the next heat. By the third heat they had accepted that maybe it wouldn’t happen anytime soon, and were glad they hadn’t told anyone about their plans.
Irina would still ask them about her sibling but as time went on they began wondering if maybe a second child just wasn’t in the cards for them.
“Okay,” Dick said as he joined Jason in bed one night, “I think it’s time we changed tactics.”
Jason raised a brow but didn’t interrupt his mate. “Clearly this isn’t working, so why don’t we just do what Bruce did and adopt?” The idea hadn’t occurred to Jason, but now it grabbed hold of him.
He had loved getting adopted, finally having a safe home and family. The thought that they could provide that for another child made him beam as he let out an emphatic “Yes!”
***
They went through the process, starting with the paperwork and slowly checking every box on their list. By the time the day to meet their potential new child came they were both shaking with nerves. Dick hadn’t slept the night before and Jason was stress baking in hopes of getting all his energy out before the social worker arrived.
The knock on their door has them locking eyes in a panic as Jason quickly scoops Irina out of her room while Dick answers the door. There standing on the other side is Lyn their social worker and behind her a small five year old.
They welcome the pair in, with Jason pushing Irina forward a bit to meet the new child. They had already decided that if their daughter didn’t like someone they wouldn’t be the one, so they had to make sure she didn’t shyly hide behind Jason the whole time.
Lyn thankfully understood their concerns and introduces them without prompting, “Good morning Irina, this is Aiden. Aiden can you say hi please.” The small boy peaks out from behind Lyn’s leg and whispers out a quiet hi. Jason worries he might be too shy for Irina but before his concerns can escalate his little girl is rushing forward with a bright smile to hug the boy.
Aiden accept the hug a bit stiffly but is more than happy to agree to go play in the living room when Irina asks. As they round the couch Jason heads back to the kitchen to plate some cookies while Dick guides Lyn around their house for another safety check.
Jason is pleased to spend the next half hour sitting on the couch sipping lemonade as his daughter makes a friend and the two play with her building blocks. He had thought she might rebel against sharing, since she hadn’t started preschool yet and learned to socialize with other children. It seemed that the older boy was more than able to share though, and managed to get her to do so gracefully.
They stopped to grab cookies, Jason having already asked Lyn about allergies prior to their arrival. And just as Jason is getting comfortable their time is up and Lyn is apologizing as she takes Aiden away.
Irina starts pouting, looking as though she might throw a tantrum but Dick quickly lifts her and soothes her. Dick and Jason are a bit put out as well but know that they don’t need to worry. After all the kid would be back soon enough.
***
A month passes before the pair return, and in anticipation Irina makes them buy her a new toy so she can play with her new friend. They don’t think she really needs the toy cars and the race track/garage combo but they figure they can spoil their daughter every once in a while.
When Aiden arrives this time he seems far less timid and even says hello to Dick and Jason before he’s dragged away to play. This time Jason makes lunch while Dick supervises the kids and Lyn does her inspection. She enters the kitchen and Jason offers her a glass of water. As she sips it he finishes plating lunch for the five of them and sets the table.
“Lunch is ready!” he calls out causing Irina to drop everything and race to the table. Jason lifts her up and settles her in her high chair. Aiden soon joins with Lyn a few paces behind. They sit across from one another, with Aiden beside Irina and Jason at the head of the table. To his right is Aiden and as Dick brings the pitcher of water over he sits across the table, with their daughter to his left.
Lunch is almost over, Dick rising to grab the dishes and begin washing, when Irina asks once more “When are we going to have a baby?”
Lyn freezes, her glasses half way to her mouth, her eyes wide. Jason is not so lucky and valiantly has to fight not to choke on his own drink.
“You’re having a baby?” asks Lyn, clearly befuddled.
Before Jason can answer Irina does “That’s what they said but they’re taking a long time to go find one.”
“Well like we said honey,” Dick comes over with a cheesecake in hand and smoothly saves Jason, “babies take time to get here.”
They thankfully drop the topic and enjoy their desert, but before Lyn leaves Jason clarifies that he is in fact not pregnant. She takes it in stride and reassures him that it wouldn’t be a problem either way, she had just been surprised. They part for another month, but Jason has a feeling that Aiden might soon be joining their little family.
***
It’s been more than half a year since they started working through the adoption process. Jason’s nerves are shot as he wakes at five in the morning, that’s why him losing the contents of his stomach comes as no surprise. Today is the day after all. If everything goes right he’ll be the parent to another child by the end of the month.
He can barely stomach a piece of toast in the morning, but forces himself to eat at least that. He doesn’t want to have to stop for food before going to sign the last papers. A few hours later finds him sitting on the couch eating strawberry ice cream straight from the tub while Dick cuddles him close and their daughter lays curled atop his lap. He can’t believe it’s almost over, that they’ll soon have another child to call their own.
The day Aiden finally comes home to stay Irina is over joyed. She drags him to his room and explains how he can decorate it however he’d like. They go over paint swatches and furniture catalogs and a few hours later they drag their parents shopping.
Most of the things are set to arrive in two days, but they bring home the paint to get started the next day. Since they figured Aiden’s room wouldn’t be ready just yet they had bought an inflatable mattress. They brought all the pillows and blanket from the linen closet to the living room, pushing the coffee table to the side.
Half an hour later they had most of a pillow fort ready to go and had popped popcorn to watch a movie. They had let their kids choose and as they lay cuddled together under blankets, watching some colorful film, Jason can’t help but fall asleep surrounded by his family.
The next morning they eat waffles and paint Aiden’s room, Irina demanding she get to join in despite not being very tall. Dick carries her on his shoulders so she can paint along side him while Aiden covers a wall with Jason’s help.
***
Weeks pass as they adjust to the new presence in their house and Jason starts feeling off. He had noticed his heats had stopped coming at some point but knew it was normal when omegas got stressed. Now that he had settled he was a little worried about his missing heats.
He scheduled an appointment, but due to their schedule conflict Dick couldn’t stay home to watch the kids. Jason brought them along with a bag of toys and essentials and just hoped the appointment went quickly.
An hour later he walks out of the doctor’s office and drives the kids and himself straight to the house. He’s silent on the drive not really answering any of their questions as his mind races. He needs to talk to Dick, needs to tell his alpha what’s happening and can’t focus on anything else.
They get home soon enough, Jason driving safely despite his urgent need to get home. He grabs his bag and lifts both of the kids into his arms to get to the door faster. He rings the bell and is grateful Dick answers it quickly. Before Dick can get a greeting out Jason is gently pushing his way inside to drop the kids off on the couch.
He sets the bag on the floor turns to Dick and says, “We need to talk and I need you to pay attention.”
His mate rushes over looking concerned and Jason spares him any more anxiety but just blurting out “I’m pregnant.”
The room is silent for a moment as Dick’s eyes widen in shock, before two voice cheer from the couch. “Yay, finally!” “Congratulations!”
Jason turns to his kids surprised. “What do you mean?”
“I mean finally, I’ve been waiting for forever to have a baby brother or sister and now you’re finally giving me one. Right?” Irina responds.
“But you already have a sibling honey, you don’t need another.” Dick says looking as confused as Jason feels.
“That’s not the same at all! You said I was getting a baby, Aiden isn’t a baby he’s my big brother, that’s totally different.” she replied, though her sass was a little uncalled for.
Jason supposes they had said it would be a baby and a younger sibling but they thought she knew that they weren’t planning on giving her any more siblings.
On second thought Jason wasn’t going to look this gift horse in the mouth. He was lucky enough to not be dealing with a tantrum and he should enjoy his win. Although…
“What about you Aiden? Aren’t you upset to have a surprise sibling?” Jason asked just to be sure.
“Of course not, Irina’s been telling me you were going to have one since the beginning. If anything I’m just relieved I finally get to meet my new baby brother or sister.”
And with that resolved Jason finally sits down, squeezing between his two kids and feeling overwhelming grateful that they were okay.
“Just to be clear,” Dick says, “I’m also super thrilled with this news, in case that wasn’t clear.” WIth that he joins them, taking Jason’s pot in the middle and plopping him back down on his lap.
Six months later their little family receives two new additions and Jason couldn’t be happier than he was with his not so little family.

For my lovely reader @afoxspainting who not only gave me two prompts but then said 'I live surprises'. Hope you like the second prompt as well!
Prompt 2: established JayDick with kid, planning to have a second, maybe telling the first child, and soon (day/week/month) after the new arrival.

Boku no Hero Academia
Reflections by afromaniiac (58k, WIP, T)
Shouto is used to not recognizing himself in the mirror. The reflection he does recognize isn’t his though, and things slowly seem to fall apart from there.
getting off on bad behavior by drifting_i (11k, G)
The table goes quiet, their interest caught. He figures out that the best way to say it is the most truthful one, the league is anything but subtle.
He measures their reactions as he tells them, from incredulous to excited, he observes the anxiety and anticipation, the disbelieving stares and their exchanged glances.
“You want us to do what?” Spinner asks after a few minutes of complete silence.
in my remains by forthesanityof1 (8k, M)
Dabi gets hit with a quirk that creates a six-year-old version of himself that will last for twenty-four hours. Haunted by who he used to be, Dabi tries to keep himself afloat.
He fails.
Unmade by pretentiousashell (3k, G)
Endeavor was dead. The skeleton of hero society would crumble at the slightest breath. He rolled the information over and over in his head, letting his limbs begin to unstiffen, like a thing coming to life for the very first time. He didn’t owe the rotten world a single concession of anything anymore. He could watch it all turn to ash, could be that ash, and all he would feel would be numb euphoria, he knew.
“Dabi,” Compress said behind him, and Dabi let his head bow forward.
“I can’t tell him."
-
In which, after the War Arc, Shigaraki is the only one who didn't get to witness Dabi's identity reveal.
What They Say About Assumptions by JustGettingBy (1k, T)
A time travel quirk sends Shinsou Hitoshi spiralling back into the past. After he goes to the one person he thinks will be best suited to help him get home, Shinsou comes to an uncomfortable realization: Midoriya Izuku must've been given his quirk by All for One.
Batman
Earth 27 by Anonymous (17k, G)
On Earth 27, Dick Grayson is dead. On Earth 32, Dick Grayson is missing.
Dick knows neither of this. But he knows something is wrong. Ever since he woke up from an injury, his family has been acting strange. Jason won’t stop hugging him, Damian avoids him at all costs, and Tim’s hair is definitely too long.
Or, in a universe where Dick dies, his brothers secretly kidnap another Dick Grayson into their world. But that Dick Grayson has siblings too, and they’re searching for him.
Recogitare by lapsedpacifist (8k, T)
A stranger shows up in the Batcave, claiming to be one of Bruce’s adopted children and a hero in his own right. Bruce has never seen him before, so why are his other kids calling the intruder ‘Grayson’ and believing that this ‘Nightwing’ really exists?
AKA: Bruce forgets Dick.
Compassion Builds No House by shoalsea (132k, WIP, T)
In which Prudence Wood's transition from League Assassin to vigilante-adjacent operative goes about as smoothly as anyone could expect and Tim displays a deep dedication to puns, pop culture references, and rampant paranoia.
Granted, the paranoia turns out to be entirely justified.
Or: Pru travels the world, Tim schemes, and more than one alliance is tested.
let's get mischievous by CreamofTomatoSoup (38k)
At the ritual altar, Bernard gets possessed by Dionysus. Nobody liked that.
not for very much longer by CreamofTomatoSoup (82k, WIP)
Post-Cult-of-Dionysus Bernard gets stuck in a time loop of the day Darla Aquista dies, which sucks just, royal balls.

[Try to Seduce My Muse || Still accepting bc why not owo]
@lazaruspitreborn
The one advantage Jason has over the rest of his siblings is his weight and height, and he knows how to use it...provided there's enough motivation In this case, however, there seems to be none when Jason approaches Dick, who's been pacing around with a tablet on his hand and clearly stuck or something, because he's doing the patented stuck Grayson look, and wraps both arms around his waist to test the waters of how he'll take it, then gently pulls him close, having the back of Dick's head rest against his shoulder when Jason lowers his own to breath there with the tip of his nose brushing on his skin near his pulse. "Put the tablet down.." Jason whispers as soft as he can make his thundering voice be. ".. for ten minutes." It's an advice and a warning, for he'll take it from Dick himself if the tablet isn't locked and ignored for a few minutes - he's up to wrestle Dick for that if it's necessary."You're not functioning anymore, Dick." What's gotten into Jason's mind? He isn't sure, but whatever it is, makes Dick very attractive to him and has him kissing the curve of his neck a couple of times before lightly scraping it with his teeth, then, makes a path all the way to behind his ear and kisses there, too. It's surprisingly easy to also carefully nibble on the tip of his earshell due to their height difference, making it the perfect spot for his next "attack", when more kisses are placed there and behind his ear. One of his hands moves up as the seconds trickle around them and lands on his chest, feeling Dick's breathe and heartbeats with his rough and callused fingers, Jason induces his own heart and lungs to sync up with Dick's before he can try anything else to take him away from that overworked mindset he's stuck in.
It's galling. He's been working on this presentation for hours and it's still not coming out right. If he stands any chance at all of getting Arkham's board to actually listen to him this has to be perfect and it's just. Not. Working. Honestly it's getting to the point that he's about to have to either put the damn thing down or throw it against a wall, but he's got to get it finished and neither one of those options is going to do that.
He's barely aware of Jason's presence in the room, thinking very little of it until he feels arms suddenly around his waist. On its own that would be surprising - he's on better terms with Jason now than he has been, sure, but Jason's not exactly the touchy-feely type - but then he's being pulled back against Jason's chest, his head against Jason's shoulder, and then there's Jason's breath over his neck and oh god, what is happening?
Dick's already gone still - he did that when Jason grabbed him - but the soft, rumbled warning in his ear has him frozen. "Jay…?" He's fine, honestly, it's just a little frustration; it surely doesn't merit this kind of attention from Jason. Dick's not even sure where this sudden apparent shift came from, given he'd be more prepared for Jason to just grab the tablet out of his hands entirely rather than this.
And definitely rather than what comes next. Dick's eyes go wide, his breath catching as he feels Jason's lips on his neck, followed quickly by teeth and oh fuck it's not stopping, Jason's moving up to that spot behind his ear, fucking hell why does his neck have to be this sensitive, what is going on, what is Jason doing, why is he doing this?
Dick can't help a soft sound or two, though whether they're based in pleasure or distress is almost impossible to tell. This can't actually be happening, can it? Jason wouldn't…he wouldn't, would he? In the first place they're brothers and in the second he…well, he just wouldn't, right? Not out of the blue like this. But he's not stopping and now there are teeth nibbling so gently on Dick's ear and oh fuck, no…
His grip on the tablet tightens as if it's a shield, breath coming short and shallow and uneven despite his best efforts. He has to stay calm, has to keep it together, has to stay focused, except that Jason's hand has slid up to his chest which means Jason can probably feel just how fast Dick's heart is racing right now and maybe even the way he's trembling slightly with the effort of not just shoving his brother away to get some distance between them and some time to think.
"…Jason…" Dick's voice, when he finally does speak, is quiet and far too carefully controlled to be actually calm, but even with that he can't quite keep a slight tremor out of it. "Let go…please…?"

YOU KNOW DC?! WOW, I'M A FAN WHAT FAVORITE HEROES AND VILLAINS DO YOU HAVE MINE IS HALEY QUINN.
So sorry, my main area of expertise is Teen Titans characters and Batman Villains.
#5 Roy Harper
Roy is just the most wholesome sunshine boy. He's positive addict representation. (It turns out anyone can become an addict even superheroes, it doesn't make you a bad or morally deficient person). He is a loving single father. He is a team leader and friend. He's got it going on.
Roy projects this bad boy image but don't believe it, he just has low self-esteem, if anything he is one of the more wholesome superheroes. Roy tends to be really caustic and likes to pick fights with people, but don't buy it he's literally the bad boy who feeds kittens when no one is looking. Ollie is like a more idealistic batman, and Roy Harper is like a more idealistic Dick Grayson.
Roy is confrontational. but he has the best of intentions he only picks fights with people if there's a problem that needs solving. Also, the person he fights the most is Dick Grayson, and he needs someone to give him a kick in the pants every once in awhile.
#4 Donna Troy
Donna is actually one of the most nuanced comic book characters of all time, and it has nothing to do with her backstory so don't even bring that up. "She's just kind of plain and boring..." that's it you've got it, you've nailed the essence of Donna.
Donna's the one sort of normal person around a bunch of extreme personalities, so all of her friends use her as a free friend therapist, while completely ignoring Donna's own issues. Donna is the single mom of several traumatized teenagers except she's the same age as them.
Donna has this image among her friends as the perfect overachiever, but she's actually just as much of a mess as everyone else. One time Dick leaves Donna in charge of the titans and the team totally falls apart because Donna CANNOT lead. She tries to make Jason the leader of the team and he was like twelve at the time. Her entire personal life is a wreck, look up what happens to Donna Troy it's one of the saddest things in comic books. She's actually one of the most tragic characters, which makes her enduring desire to help her friends and take care of people a really strong character trait because it's continually tested by the tragedy in her life.
#3 Eddie Bloomberg
Every Teen Titans run gives me a new favorite character and Eddie was that for the Geoff Johns run. Seeing as my favorite hero of all time is Spiderman, there is nothing better than a normal, powerless teenager, trying to become a superhero because they want to help others.
Eddie's life is just very melancholy and lonely, he becomes so desperate to be a teen titans he literally seels his soul for the chance of being a hero. He almost cut his life even shorter, because being a hero for a few years seemed better to him than living as a normal person for a much longer life. Eddie works as a character because despite his abysmally low self esteem he tries to help people, and what makes him a hero is not his powers but who he himself is. Even after losing his powers the Titans need him around because he is the heart of the team.
#2 Rose Wilson
Terra is my favorite DC character of all time, and Rose is basically Terra if Terra actually lived. Rose and Eddie made the Geoff Johns run enjoyable for me, there's something deeply compelling about Rose's search for a family and also her desire to define herself as her own person.
If you are connected to Slade Wilson in any way he will just destroy your own life, so it is powerful to watch Joey and Rose connect as siblings outside of Slade, and also Rose keep trying to be a hero on the Teen Titans when no one on the team trusts her. Even when she leaves it's not because she was a bad person, it's because the whole team rejected her and even on her own Rose was still trying to figure out what the right thing to do was and how to live her life.
#1 Harley Quinn
Harley's just one of the most characters ever. Characters are their flaws and Harley has a whole lot of them, she's hurt a lot of people, she enabled a man to hurt so many more, she crossed a line as a psychiatrist, she's selfish enough that she'll terrorize gotham in the pursuit of love.
YET! She remains such a sympathetic character at her core. Not only because of the way the joker treats her, but because no matter much Harley tries to change herself in pursuit of being loved by someone else, Harleen was a doctor. Hurting people is against her nature. THe more people she hurts, the more she is hurt. She's like a living example of the cycle of abuse, she is a victim and she victimizes others, and yet there's always still that chance of recovery for her.
Harley's also just so unique. Her world view is so distorted. Her priorities are all messed up. She doesn't really have a system of morality so much as "If I do this, I will be loved...." and because of that she ends up doing some really bad things. Yet, there's something deeply relatable and identifiable of a person who just wants to be love.
She's incredibly emotionally complex. One unique thing about Harley is she kind of changes her entire personality depending on who she's around, and yet she's still Harley. Harley's just kind of this attention hungry, love seeking person, desperate to stand out, easy to get along with, easy to make friends. She's like this really wholesome while at the same time being a really toxic person, and all of those qualities make a volatile mix that just explodes into the funnest person ever.

so i’m trying to write duke and i don’t think i’m writing him right. how would you describe his personality because with don’t trust fanon lmfaooo
(this was only supposed to be a paragraph or two i swear to god)
1. first things first, duke is a hardcore gryffindor. don’t let the yellow color scheme mislead you, okay. and while most of the time he’s depicted in fanon as “omg this family is crazy and i’m the only sane one,” it’s actually pretty much the opposite? if anything, i think the other batkids would be like “oh finally, someone who can match our level of chaotic energy. HEY DUKE WANNA BUNGEE JUMP OFF WAYNE TOWER—” and an hour later they’d all be in the batcave getting lectured by bruce for leading poor sweet innocent duke astray when really he was already planning on doing that this weekend.
listen, this is the kid who once jumped off a bridge to escape police. this is the dude who decided to fight criminals while they’re still eating their wheaties at 6am in a bright yellow suit. and while duke seems to be the best at following bruce’s command at the moment due to having been trained by him most recently compared to the others and is still figuring out how to be a hero, i’m positive that if bruce weren’t here to guide him, duke would be running around gotham taking down criminals anyway. i mean, he literally did do that with the “we are robin” kids. plus there was the whole thing when he was like ten years old and decided “i am going to singlehandedly stop the riddler in my light up sketchers and pikachu backpack. try and stop me.”
duke is headstrong and has a strong drive toward heroism. he’s an extremely enthusiastic and passionate person in general, and i try to capture a little of that when i write him, even with mundane things like trying to beat his siblings to the last cupcake.
2. another thing i noticed is that duke swears like a sailor in comics? seriously, this boy could give jason a run for his money with how many “@#!%” speech bubbles there are. i don’t know if this is just a trend the writers added in the comics i’ve read of him, or if it’s a genuine trait throughout every comic he’s in, but that’s something to make note of when writing dialogue for duke. after all, he did grow up in the narrows, so it makes sense that he’d use a lot of swearing and slang in his everyday vernacular.
3. i would also make a point of noting that duke is fairly young compared to the rest of the batfamily, being the second youngest after damian. duke is still a teenager in high school, and he acts like it. he’s got homework and friends and is eager to make a difference in gotham, trying to juggle everything and make it all work somehow. he’s stubborn and doesn’t give up easily, so it’s important to write him as someone who is trying to save the world while also struggling with finding time to study for his next math test. he's human. he doesn’t get to dedicate all of his time to fighting crime like cass or jason might be able to, since duke is still a mostly normal teenager with teenager problems.
4. and don’t forget that unlike the other batkids, duke still has two living parents. sure, they’re jokerized and might not ever be the same again, but they’re alive and that’s what holds him back from letting himself get as close to the waynes as he wants to. duke won’t be calling bruce “dad” anytime soon, and i think he’d have some internal struggle over stuff like holidays and birthdays with the waynes, remembering what his parents are missing out on and wondering if joining the wayne family is a betrayal to them. duke is very conflicted over this, even if he doesn’t say it directly. stuff like ducking out of movie night early or feeling a bittersweet pang during thanksgiving dinner makes sense for someone in his situation.
(i usually ignore that aspect in my fics because i want duke to just be adopted and part of the family already, but not everyone does that, and that’s perfectly fine.)
5. honestly, duke is such a caring individual and we as a fandom need more of him being a shoulder for people to lean on because he’s?? so soft?? duke can be so sympathetic and rational when it comes to emotional problems. it seems like duke internalizes every bit of advice he gets from the people around him and uses it to inspire others and help them through their own problems. as tough and hotheaded as duke can sometimes be, he really is good when it comes to emotions.
6. duke is a smartass. he will 100% use sarcasm against any and every authority figure he meets, usually just for the hell of it.
7. he’s very frank in general, usually the first to be like “okay full disclosure, we’re about to die right now. that sucks. anyway—” in a situation. he’s honest and tends to be upfront about his fears/anxieties, usually for comic relief, but i think it still counts.
8. okay i have to add that duke is also kind of a punk? he and jason have a lot in common because of this: they both grew up in one of gotham’s worse areas (jay in crime alley and duke in the narrows) and they’re both highkey deliquents. duke has no problem getting into fights or talking back to authority figures, and it’s gotten him in hot water on more than one occasion. it’s why he kept getting moved around the foster system before bruce took him in because no one wanted to keep him.
9. he’s also gotten so close with the other batkids and we love to see it!! duke calls cass “sis” and treats damian like the annoying little brother he never had and i adore every second of it. we haven’t gotten a lot of interactions between duke and the others aside from training and stuff, but he and jason have the whole “punk kid who got adopted by batman and is baffled by how rich people live” going for them, so they can bond over that. and duke is a thinker like tim, so they can hang out and do puzzles or play chess or whatever it is that smart people do. (and duke and steph are BESTIES i don’t care what anyone says.)
10. most of all, duke is still learning how the whole hero thing works. he’s young and he’s trying his best, but he also makes mistakes. he will be impulsive and screw up, and he’ll try and merge the lessons batman’s taught him and that his parents taught him and that other heroes teach him until it all makes sense in his own mind. duke isn’t experienced like dick or even damian, so he’s going to be lagging behind for a while until he grows until the role he’s made for himself.
other miscellaneous details to include:
- duke is dating izzy, who used to be part of the “we are robin” gang with him - he used to live at the manor and now lives with his cousin jay, but honestly i just have him living at the manor in everything i write because i like it better that way - he can control shadows and light now! what a king! - duke secretly writes poetry and is good at creative writing in general - this:
- duke is super smart?? he figured out that agent 37 was dick grayson without even trying?? i’m so proud of him - his biological father is this supervillain called gnomon so now duke has got four parents: his mom, his dad, his supervillain dad, and bruce (plus selina if you count her as the batkids’ stepmom, which i do) - jason calls him “narrows” and i love that
- and, lastly, the most important panel in the history of comics:

Hello there! Can you write hcs for Tim with a reader who's Wally West's younger sibling please?
Tim Drake x West!Reader
You don’t have super speed like your older brother
But you know all about his double life
You honestly keep your distance from it
Sure Wally was Kid Flash (or used to be)
But you still didn't want to meet other people or what not
It was because when you were younger, Wally told you that they k-worded the people who knew too much
Being older now you knew it was a joke
But you didn't want to test it
Even though he wasn't offically a superhero anymore
He still hangs out with this friends and everything
That's how you meet Dick Grayson
You know he's a superhero or something of the sort because he's friends with Wally
But you didn't try to find out his alter ego
One day Wally gets called for an emergency back to the cave
Only problem is that your parents aren't home
And Wally isn't sure how long he'll be gone
He can't leave you alone since you're a minor
So he isn't sure what to do with you
Until Dick gives him the idea to drop you off at the Manor
Even though you don't like the idea of being dropped off at a strangers house
Dick reassures you that his little brother is there and will keep you company
You want to complain and protest
But you see that Wally is at wit's end and then agree
Him giving you the biggest hug
"Thanks baby sis."
"Just bring me back a souvenier."
"You got it."
That's how you found yourself at Wayne Manor in Gotham City
After being haphhazardly speeded all the way there
And that's how you meet Tim
"Hi, nice to meet you, I'm (Y/N)."
"I know."
"You know?"
It's only then he notices the weird look you're giving him
"Oh, I'm not a stalker or anything. Just Dick told me you'd be coming home."
"Ah."
He shows you around the house and it's clear he's not sure how long you'd be staying there either
It's kind of awkward to be honest
You two have hardly a clue about each other
Luckily Alfred is there before things get too awkward
"Miss (Y/N), your brother tells me that you're quite the master at cheese viking."
Your eyes light up
"Yeah! I have the high score back at my hometown's arcade!"
"Master Tim quite enjoys playing Cheese Viking himself."
Alfred to the rescue indeed
You two end up playing Cheese Viking the entire day
At the end of the day you kind of forgot that you didn't have to go home
You spent the entire night together until Alfred said that it was time to bed
You let Tim pretend he was going to bed even though you knew he was going for patrol
"Well, be safe!"
"Hehe, why wouldn't I be safe? I'm just going to bed!"
You're surprised he thinks you'll believe that
"Sure..."
You spend the next few days together
Just nerding out
And Tim always has something new to do every morning
Even though Alfred has to coax him into it
Tim finds himself getting a slight crush on you
He tells himself it's just a summer fling kind of thing tho
And that he'll grow out of it after you leave
Cuz lord knows this never ending mission of theirs is a lonely endevour
Damian's words not his
You get really close during the time you spent together
When Wally's mission gets over he comes to pick you up
And you're upset you have to say goodbye to Tim
But you try and focus on the fact that Wally is safe and happily go home with him
You hadn't realized you were homesick until he came back home
You were so excited and relieved that you totally forgot to give Tim your number
You only realize a few days later and you're unsure how to contact him
You briefly wonder if you should ask Wally
But you don't want him to get upset
So you just suck it up
Dick meanwhile notices how his little brother feels a little down
"What's wrong Timmy?"
"Nothing..."
Dick tries to hide his smirk
"You know I have (Y/N)'s number right?"
"Really? I mean...uh...could I have it?"
To say you were excited to see a text from Tim was an understatement
Texting him non-stop for the next couple of days
Even calling and facetiming
Until Tim asks you on your first date
And you're ecstatic
One thing to mention is that Wally has no idea you two were so close
He's painfully oblivious
Artemis finds out when you confide about how nervous you are for the date
Promises not to tell Wally
Partly because you asked her to
And partly because she likes that you felt close enough to ask her
When Tim shows up at your house, Wally thinks it’s just for a playdate
Completely ignores the possibility of him being there to pick you up for a date
Even ignores the fact that he has flowers for you
Cuz he just thinks you’re too young to be dating
Even though he started dating Artemis about the same time
When he finds out though it’s like hell boiled over
You’ve never seen Tim intimidated but he just stares at Wally in fear as he’s tapping his foot on the couch
Your big brother is fuming because he caught you two kissing in your bedroom
Artemis and Dick are there but just smirking and waiting to see what he’ll say
“This!” He gestures between you two, “Is not happening!”
Before anyone can say anything you speak
“If you can have a robin then why can’t I?”
And boom
Artemis is laughing her ass off and both Dick and Wally are blushing
“I’m not dating Dick!”
“Oh really? Then the date nights you two have are a little weird don’t you think?”
Dick likes you so he’s definitely on your side
So is Artemis
Wally eventually relents but he doesn’t like it
Not until you get into a huge fight with Tim
And you’re at home sobbing your eyes out
And Wally goes over to his house to kick his ass
Only to see that he’s in a worse state than you are
Eyes red and puffy, hair all messed up and it looked like he was crying all night
And he realizes how much Tim really cares about you
So he convicnes him to make amends with you
And basically now treats him like a member of the family
And his blessing means a lot to you
And now you have a Robin of your own
“FOR THE LAST TIME I’M NOT DATING DICK!”
“WELL ALL THE FANFICTION SAYS OTHERWISE!”

It's stupid when you doing your assignment and suddenly the idea just pop up! I'm really not good at writing but I can't get out of this.
.
.
So anyway, I believe there is a crossover story where Dick and Danny are siblings or twins. As usual, we know how Dick's parents died and how the story goes. I am not sure if anyone knows that the true history of Gray son. In short ver, Dick has a great grandfather who wants his grandson to become him aka The Talon of Court of Owl. The Haly Circus is the key of the ultimate Talon born.
While the Court of Owl is late to take Dick as their Talon, they get a sample of DNA from Mary and John Grayson to make their own Talon. The process is pretty much like how Damian was born but...there is a twist the Court of Owl making more clones of Dick Grayson and most of it failed (due to their training)
While they were busy with the training of Dick's clones, the Court hire of Fenton family because they interest in their work. The Fentons were really happy that someone appreciates their work but then they realize the truth behind it. For example, they saw a boy age around 10 or younger doing intense training. If he failed they received a horrible punishment. Some of them are dead. Fentons know they are clones but seeing this kind of torture reminds them, their daughter. (their son not born yet)
Fentons reject this project and...of course the Court not let them go. If not they gonna threaten using their daughter or they will receive consciousness. As usual, they force to do it. It's painful and sad to them. Seeing the boy cry, beg, and help to stop. They do nothing just clench their fist and closed their eyes hope the nightmare is gone.
Several years later, the Court noticed the project become downhill. The result becomes unsatisfactory. They want a strong Talon and they threaten Fentons if the project is not successful by the end of the month. In that year, Maddie pregnant and she become more stressed and worried about the baby. Their daughter begs them why they do not spend time with her but the projects. Dick already quit being Robin and start as Nightwing.
At the end of the month, the Fentons finally success create the Court's wants. The boy (who age around 14 same years as Jason) who has a power of half-ghost and half-dead is finally born. The boy doesn't have a name and called him D-1141425. Fentons name him Danny because the code number translate him into a name.
Danny likes Fentons and they treat him as part of their family. He only spends them few weeks and the Fentons have to leave. He sad that the person he loves has to leave and the Court train him the emotions is the tool of weakness like all his clones (or brothers in Danny POV)
The Fentons want to take away Danny (become part of their family. They don't care Danny is a monster or meta. Jazz is really happy if she has another additional sibling) from them but they are afraid if they haunt them. Danny's life becomes duller and no emotion (or Idk insert anything dark/angst life )
Around Jason's death and Tim becomes a new Red Robin the Court wants to test D-1141425. They send several high social class to assassin them. First the Gotham and then the outside city. Bruce notices the changes and goes to investigate this matter.
Skip time and event (cuz I lazy af) Dick always being kidnapped by the Talon aka Danny(his age same like Jason. Also Jason come back to life) He know who behind the mask but he always denial because afraid the truth. Until the Red Robin (the smartest one who can't switch off his detective once in while) tell truth who was it.
And BOMB!!! Dick's life goes downhill quickly.

Mothers
Damian had dinner with Talia and they talked about Batmom.
===========================================
Damian didn’t know what he should feel about this.
It’s been a very long time since he had a peaceful meal together with Talia. Or it felt like one, he didn’t know. Certainly, he had spent significant amount of days and night not having a peaceful meal together with his mother that he started to lose any strands of memories on how it should really be. Or does he never have any peaceful meal with her before? He wasn’t sure.
Should he really let his guard down? He wasn’t sure. It sure is felt wrong to let his guard down in the presence of his mother. After all, he knew her. She always had so many tricks underneath her sleeve. But it had been almost twenty-five minutes passed, and the dinner had been nothing but… pleasant.
“Hmm,” Talia made a sound. “They sure do make a great samosa. I admit your judgement is right. This is the best restaurant they have in the city.”
Damian pressed his lips together. “I am pleased to know you enjoy it as much as I do, Mother.”
Talia threw him a small smile. Or what he could considered as a smile from her, anyway. Damian did not have the smoothest relationship with his mother after all the odds happened. He certainly had seen her in different light after she had attempted to murder him with one of her clones of his own freaking self. But Damian certainly held a dear memory of days when his mother is warm to him.
She had not been perfect, but she tried, and she loved him dearly and fiercely too. In her very own twisted way, as she had tried her best to shield him from any bad influence that his grandfather is. But a powerful man of menace that he is, sometimes all of his mother’s best had not been enough to protect him from his grandfather. So, she had to send him away all across the country, gave the custody to his father, and had lived underneath the same roof with him ever since.
It certainly was a surprise that Talia showed up on the doorstep. Being civil and all, knocking the door and actually announce her presence. Not showing up out of nowhere sneaking her way into the Batcave or strike him in the daylight out of thin air. She wanted to rekindle and reconnect with him, that’s what she said, and Damian was hesitant. But Mom was enthusiastic with the idea – she had always been a very positive lady, bless her soul – and Father, surprisingly, did not opposed the idea.
Grayson did not. He was ready to throw a fit. But eventually begrudgingly agreed after a stern and long talk with Mom.
Besides, Mom and Father were supposed to attend a charity event in Star City this weekend. It’s a perfect occasion for him to have a day out with his mother while his other parents are away. God, it felt weird to address them that way. Grayson gave him a pep talk and a panic button that he certainly did not need in case things go south.
So far, things had been quite pleasant, if not good. They had stroll around the city, visited a zoo, went to a museum, and ready to end their day in this restaurant he had accidentally discovered few months ago. He didn’t even check his phone – well, once to text Grayson back and assured him that he was, in fact, very much alright – and surprisingly enjoy his time.
“If you have anything to say, then talk,” Talia’s voice snapped him out of his train of thought.
“Nothing. It had been a very good day with you, Mother,” Damian answered. He had almost forgot how straightforward his mother could be.
Talia pressed her lips together to form a thin smile. “Y/N…” she paused for a moment as if she was testing the way it rolled out of her tongue. “She had made you soft, hadn’t she? Or was it the work of your father?” Talia tilted her head to the side, studying him.
Damian didn’t say anything, but his hand tried to reach for his non-existent weapon on his pocket out of instinct. He and his mother agreed not to bring any sort of weapon on their day out together today.
“Y/N, what a bright woman she is. Too bright.” Talia’s finger traced the outline of the table. Damian braced himself for any words that would come next. “I understand why you take a liking on her.”
“You do?” the word came out before Damian could stop it. Talia’s head perked up at his question, the corner of her lips turned upwards.
“Yes. I admit she is a very likable woman. Even Jason Todd seemingly adore her, and we both know the man usually reluctant to put his guard down so easily.”
“In case it escapes your attention, Todd grew up with her.”
“And with your father too.” Talia raised a questioning eyebrow. One that she usually gave him when she questioned all of his method in training. Or progress. “Look at their relationship now. A little rough around the edges, if you ask me.”
“That’s just how they work.”
“That’s just how they work, indeed,” Talia agreed. “That’s just how it works with Y/N too.”
Damian nodded, understanding his mother’s point of view. But he couldn’t see where this conversation led them exactly, and why the matter of Mom had been brought into the table in the first place.
“You know, I only had met her once or twice. Not so much. But it certainly felt like I had known her for years. Your father used to talk fondly about her a lot back in the days when he was still in the League. Besides talking about his parents and Alfred Pennyworth, he had the habit to talk about Y/N too. Or should I call her Y/N Wayne, now that she is married to your father?”
Damian remained still. Talia waited for a few beats for him to answer, but the lack of response from his part was an enough answer. Talia shrugged it off. He knew she did. It wasn’t a first time.
“Any person would’ve known that it was love. He swore it was just a childish crush, he would say that a lot in his defence. But I know. I had always known. You should see the way his eyes shine when he talked about her,” Talia told him. Damian knew what his mother had talked about so well. He had witnessed it so many times. “Because he used to look at me with the same shine in his eyes, Damian.”
Damian’s breath caught in his throat. He remembered the early days of him arriving at his father’s doorstep, upset at the presence of another woman that he fondly calls Mom now. He recalled days of wishing his parents would just talk and reunite, before eventually made a peace with the fact that his father is very much happy with his marriage.
He couldn’t find any words to say, and Talia did not expect him to. An invisible weight had been lifted from his shoulders magically. A small amount it seems, the one he barely noticed. But it was a comical amount of relief to knew that he was brought here by love his parents used to had with each other. For a short amount of time, perhaps, but it was still one.
“I am actually glad that you get to grow up with her.”
“Are you really?” Damian was a little skeptical, albeit hopeful and a little surprised.
“I am, Beloved,” Talia reassured him. Damian closed his eyes; it had been a long time since he had heard his mother addressed him that way. “There are many reasons why I had to leave you with your father, but I mainly wish you to have a better path and future than I do. Y/N had not been on the plan, but now I am glad that she is. She is capable to give you breaks and normalcy that your father used to had when he was your age. The one that I unable to give. I understand why your father had chosen to marry her; she is capable to give him the breaks he needs from his battles. I couldn’t give him that. I certainly couldn’t give that to you.”
Damian blinked. He didn’t know what to say.
“She had raised you and nurture you as if you are her own. Besides, she is bright and very well-educated. Maybe not the best fighter, if she ever learned at all.” Talia paused to formed a smile. “I like her.”
Damian let out a shaky breath he did not notice he was holding. He experienced a rush of many emotions at once, many that he couldn’t register and understand. He felt a hot prickle in his eyes, and if his mother notice there were tears welled in his eyes, she didn’t point it out.
There are few moments of silence exchanged between them. Talia was the first one to broke it off. “Let’s finish this off and I’ll drop you off at your father’s house. It’s already dark outside, and I’m certain Dick Grayson would explode if you don’t come back any time soon.”
Damian grimaced. “He tends to worry about me a lot. Sometimes I am convinced that he forgets I can protect and defend myself very well.”
“It is a good thing to have someone care about your well-being. Count it as a blessing,” Talia said with furrowed eyebrows. “Y/N told me you joined a soccer club in your school. Tell me about it on our way to your father’s house.”
Damian didn’t have any expectation on how his day would go, but certainly he did not expect to talk about his soccer club experience to his mother as they take a route back to the manor. He talked about his practice and an upcoming tournament that sadly his mother couldn’t attend.
It soon become a tradition between two of them. Talia would take Damian out somewhere whenever she could, which wasn’t that often considering her condition and line of work. Sometimes it would take days, sometimes it was a mere quick day out that last few hours. His mom and his mother would sometimes engage in a nice small talk whenever Talia visited. All of his siblings conspired that they had secrets shared with each other and had a secret girl’s night out no one knows about.
Damian didn’t want to dwell on that. He was happy and content with the life he led on now. Even though this wasn’t the initial output he had wished, he was still very much happy to receive love from two amazing women he had privilege to call Mom and Mother, respectively.

PAST LIVES - 4 blurb
here comes the time where Ricard Grayson infiltrates the reader’s day. I think Dick plays up the eldest sibling to a t, whenever he’s able to be around that is.
You open the manor’s front door- against the wishes of Alfred who is somewhere with his ears burning at the fact that he hasn’t opened the door to one of the masters of the house- and there he is.
Dick Grayson.
“Master Grayson.”
You jump at the sound of Alfred’s voice. Dick laughs at that too.
“Hello Alfred. It’s good to see you.”
You turn to Alfred with your hands over your heart, “You like to scare me don’t you?”
He says nothing, instead he turns around and goes back to where he came from. Shaking your head you turn back to Dick.
“So, ready for some sibling bonding time?” You hold up a finger to get him to wait. You head into the closet - once again making Alfred’s ears red- and grab your duffle bag that had been packed since last night. When you return you drop it next to his.
“I’ve never been camping before.”
-
TWELVE HOURS LATER
You have your hoodie pulled up and tightened around your head. The fuzzy socks tucked into your jeans are helping a bit and the fire too. But you just hadn’t expected the cold to hit you like a slab of cement.
All the training had really went down the drain.
Dick comes out from his tent and sits by your side. He’s got on his own sweater with a best over it. Smart.
“How’s Jason?” he asks.
Your eyes widen and you turn to him quickly, “What?”
“Are you two not- sorry I just thought I had picked up on something.”
You clear your throat and face the fire again. If Dick had picked up on something, how long was it before everyone knew? Besides Damian who had clocked the two of you from the beginning.
“No yeah we’re. We’re a thing.” you say.
“Just a thing?” he asks.
You shrug your shoulders, “I don’t get picky with normal people things, you know?”
But you’re not really asking. Dick Grayson knows all to well about not being picky with normal people things. You all do.
“We can totally change the subject.” he offers.
“How’s everything with your friends?” you ask.
“Great. Wally’s great if you’re headed in that direction.”
You nod along this time.
“I’m sorry if this is awkward. I just haven’t had someone close in age to talk to, or who wanted to talk besides Tim when he can keep his eyes open.” he says.
“It’s okay,” you remove your hands from your pockets and place them over the fire, “I take a bit of time to adjust after being resurrected and the league.”
If you knew it would have made him nervous or worried you wouldn’t have slipped that in there. But you honestly don’t think too much about the words you use anymore when talking about your past. It was your past for a reason and you’re doing the work to keep it that way.
Still, you hold back sometimes.
“Are you okay?”
You turn to look at him again and he’s already looking at you. It’s not a weird question to ask, especially after you basically just said you were brought back from the dead and became an assassin. Brainwashed assassin.
Not a lot of people ask if you’re okay. Most people who know, like Nyssa and Talia, didn’t ask in such a way. They made sure you were okay by checking you wounds after an mission or going over training. Bruce sees if you’re okay by inviting you over for monthly dinners. That way he came watch over you and make sure with his own eyes that you’re okay. Same with Damian and his random drop-ins.
Jason and Tim are the ones who skirt around the question. That’s partly because you ask them the same question back and it usually turns into a playful conversation about how you all could be doing better, but you’re doing good with what you got.
And now there was Dick.
You don’t know why- or maybe you do and you won’t admit it- but you start to tear up. You think it must be Dick Grayson’s superpowers or something. It’s the same way that you felt when he came back during the first family dinner at your place.
You shake you head a bit and see his eyes widen, “No I’m fine. I will be fine. It’s just a lot. Having a big family like this, not really knowing about my past.”
He nods.
“I’m here if you want to talk. About anything.” he says.
You smile. And in that moment, you get up from your wooden log.
“Get up.” you say.
He doesn’t even hesitate. He gets up without another word. And you, without hesitation, wrap your arms around him in a hug. He’s shocked, you can tell that much.
“Oh-” he starts.
Then he hugs you back.
“Thank you Dick.”
-
THREE DAYS LATER
you accidentally knocked over the water on the table. The two ladies yelp and jump. You gasp pretty loudly, and cover you mouth for a moment.
“I’m so sorry.” you say.
They look at you as they pat down their outfits with the napkins to make sure they didn’t get wet. You try to smile as earnestly as you can, but really it comes out more of a smirk.
You walk out of the dinner and meet Dick at the front window.
“That didn’t look like an accident.” he comments.
It really wasn't. The women had been ogling at him the whole time you were eating. It didn’t seem to phase him that much, but it did disgust you. They weren’t even trying to hide it.
So you put your former tricks to the test.
You hum to yourself, “that’s too bad isn’t it?”
He chuckles.
“Alright, where to next?” he asks.
You nudge his shoulder with yours and you two begin to walk away from the diner. It wasn’t a bad day in Gotham. The weather had been decent, it wasn’t funny or anything but it wasn’t down right pouring rain.
“I have to pick up a thingy for Fallon. It’s not far from here.” you answer.
Dick walks by your side until you get to the crosswalk. He then flanks to your left side, the closest to traffic. You notice it, like you noticed it the other times you’ve hung out, and you don't say a word.
Because you know he’s not gonna stop doing it.
“You’re worse than Jason, you know that?”
He actually waits to start talking, until you're both fully crossed. He’s gotten used to the fact that upon learning something new, or even having a profound thought, you have to stop in your tracks. Completely.
“Yeah yeah. Do you wanna see my dog?”
You stop.
“Oh my god, you have a dog too? Is this a Wayne thing?”
“Did you ever ask Jason about Sparky?”
“Oh wow, so it is a Wayne thing.”

Chapter Twenty-Six: Houma Way From Houma
After his first two years alone, traveling and learning as much as he could, Jason trained with a woman who, at first feared him and his potential. She turned him away initially, but after weeks of begging, she allowed him in. Her training was unlike anything he’d ever experienced. It was grueling and left him with frightening visions. He kept them hidden from her, fearing that she’d use them as an excuse to end his training. The hours were long, and he didn’t sleep even when he had time to. He fasted most of the week at her request, but it made the visions worse.
Jason trained with experts in everything from chemistry to cybercrime but something about this woman was different. She tested him in every way that mattered. It was like she wanted to break him without killing him, and she’d gotten dangerously close on a summer day in Louisiana. She delved inside his mind to take a walk through his thoughts. He always consented to it despite the discomfort he felt at the thought of her touching his memories, like fingers through a file cabinet. This time felt different, though. He was mildly aware of what went on outside of his mind and something was wrong. It made his heart race and his chest felt tight and heavy. “Where are we? You moved my body,” Jason whispered.
“You’re being buried alive as we speak, but I want you to let go of that fear—.”
“No! Nonononono! Not again, please! Let me out! Let me out, please—.”
“Jason, calm down. You’ve trained with me all this time. I’m going to release your mind, and you’ll have an hour to use what I’ve taught you to get out,” she interrupted.
“Please don’t leave me here,” Jason begged, “Please, god—. Please don’t—.” Jason hyperventilated as he awakened in a wooden casket. Tears streamed down his cheeks as his body shut down, and he felt along the walls of the casket. He protected his face, inhaling as much air as he could while he searched for a way out. He’d done it before, but it was different this time. The woman was right. She gave him everything he needed to escape. He relaxed, feeling energy travel through his body, and he touched the small crease of separation between the casket.
“Oh god, please let this work. Let this work,” Jason thought as he blasted the door open. Dirt fell on his face, but he was able to dig his way free from there. He pulled his shirt off and took a breath of fresh air, and he met eyes with the woman.
“Less than five minutes. Good job, Jason,” she smiled. Jason’s chest heaved up and down as he fought the urge to strike out at her. Tears streamed down his dirt-covered cheeks. “You’re upset. That’s alright… But you shut off the fear. Didn’t you?”
He couldn’t speak. His lips tightened into a scowl as he sucked in a shaky breath of air, nearly sobbing as he balled his hands into a fist. “Get cleaned up. I’ve taught you everything I can—.”
“What did I do wrong?” Jason asked.
“Nothing… There’s nothing else I can teach you,” she answered. Jason frowned and nodded. “You should leave before nightfall.”
Jason left her, wondering what was next for him as he headed for the showers. He washed the dirt out of his hair and face, thinking about all the other times the woman buried him alive. It usually left him sick for days afterward, but he felt nothing this time. Once he’d stopped crying, he didn’t care anymore. It all felt like a distant memory. He bathed until there wasn’t a trace of dirt on him, got dressed, packed his bag, and left.
Jason never carried anything more than one bag during that time. He often left at a moment’s notice, carrying very little. After he killed the first handful of teachers, he decided he’d move quickly from place to place to remain hidden, so he knew he couldn’t stay behind in Louisiana. As much as he liked it there, he had to move on to the next place. Jason blended in well on the streets of Houma, feeling almost at home there. If he wasn’t planning on visiting one more person before returning home, he would’ve liked to stay there. He smiled, thinking about Damian and what it would be like to visit there with him. Before leaving, he decided to have dinner at a seafood restaurant, where he met a young man about his age.
The restaurant wanted to have the man arrested for not paying for his meal, despite the young man offering to work to pay his debt. Jason’s jaw tightened, and he stood up and walked over. “What you doin’ man?” Jason asked in a feigned cajun accent. “He always do this… Listen, how much is it? We was gon’ pass a good time, have dinner… I say I’m gon’ pay. He so stubborn, knowin’ he forgot his wallet. How much?”
The waiter looked at the bill, and Jason winked at the young man. The waiter read it out to Jason, and he took the cash out of his wallet and tipped the waiter for his trouble. He and the man left the restaurant, and Jason chuckled on the way out. “Hey, man… I owe you. Where you from? Maybe I can pay you back—.”
“Don’t worry about it,” Jason smiled.
“What’s your name? I feel bad not having the money to pay you for the—.”
“Peter,” Jason replied.
“Well, Peter, I’m Josh… And I’m real grateful for you saving my ass out there,” Josh smiled. Jason shook his head.
“In another life, we coulda been brothers or somethin’. I’m not gon’ be in the city too much longer, but it was nice to meet you while I could,” Jason replied as they passed an alley. Josh looked at Jason, and Jason noticed a glint in his eye. It wasn’t dangerous. No. It was something else. Josh leaned in to kiss him, and he recoiled. “I’m sorry. I just—. I’m with somebody. I got somebody waitin’ on me.” Jason had to admit to himself that Josh was handsome, and his intentions were sweet and rich-smelling like a summer wine. If he weren’t in love, he would’ve found the smell appetizing, but it only made him ache for what he had.
“I’m sorry… I misunderstood,” Josh apologized. Jason shut his eyes, chewing his bottom lip as he swallowed the pain the moment brought him, and he hugged Josh. It was all he could do to ease the pain in his own heart. He slipped a wad of cash into Josh’s pocket and rushed off toward the nearest train station. He cried about it as soon as he was alone. The smell lingered on his skin.
After all his time training under the mystery woman, he’d developed the ability to smell souls. The woman had no explanation for this other than it being a unique gift that his training awakened. A form of magical synesthesia. The more ordinary a person was the more cut and dry the fragrance was. He knew Josh would stick with him for a while. And it hurt. It hurt more than anything he’d felt in a while. Jason cried so hard it made his throat dry. He drank water and slept until he reached his next stop. From there, Jason boarded a plane to Guyana to follow a lead about an illegal land development project in the Amazon.

So I wrote Airbender Dick Grayson and that was fun, but before that I had a draft of a... different take of “Dick can sort of manipulate the air”
(...Ok, so this was the backdrop for a shameless crossover with my OCs and my own original work, but this part of it is Bats only)

Enjoy! XD
Nightwing had always loved to fly.
He loved the wind in his hair, the weightlessness in his chest, the jerk of his arm as he swerved back towards the night sky, and he will never get tired of the thrill.
He loved the wind that carried him, and there were times when the wind seemed to love him, too.
Moments when he nearly tripped over his own two feet in the early days, when a flip had him easily righting himself, the wind picking up as if to help him land on his feet; times when he was chasing after criminals, when one leap took him further than was strictly normal; when Tim’s line failed, and he dived after him, and he seemed to fall faster, the wind pushing him nearer to his brother.
Most of the time, he could dismiss it as nothing. Small, miniscule irregularities could be easily ignored in the grand scheme of things.
Sometimes, though, he did wonder.
When he can almost feel the sailing of bullets piercing through the air. When in a dark room and he can feel the movements of allies and enemies, the air pushing and pulling around them. During the destruction of bludhaven, when he dived into the gas cloud of chemicals, and the wind seemed to form a barrier around him, shielding him on top of his rebreather.
Those instances are hard to ignore.
He had already tested himself for the metagene, more than once. Each time came back negative. He had asked Zatanna to check him for magic, something, anything that would explain what was happening. It was not magic, either.
He and his brothers were patrolling, that night. One thing led to another, and Nightwing found himself on a rooftop, grappling gun dropping down the side of the building, the black-clothed figure edging him closer to the edge.
A sharp thunk let him know that the grappling gun had landed on a ledge, not too far below. He would have been fine for fighting, or stalling at least, if not for the broken arm he was cradling to his chest, and what he was fairly sure to be a sprained ankle. Oracle’s voice in his comm stated that Red Hood was moving quickly towards him, but he was still far away.
The wind was particularly strong on the rooftop. Lately he had grown used to embracing the sixth sense - the way that the air bent around other forms, how he could hone in on his grappling gun’s position below him. He shuffled again, just shy of the fall.
With a spring, he leapt off the edge.
He contorted himself as the small knives cut through the air, dodging them even as Oracle yelled his name through the comm, as Red Hood swore viciously. He stretched out his good arm, and the grappling gun seemed to fly into his hand. He counted his blessings as he aimed and launched, hauling himself away from the building and into the shadows.
“You idiot,” Oracle and Red Hood hissed at the same time, but Nightwing chose not to comment. “I knew what I was doing,” he protested lamely, but he knew when his siblings and ex-girlfriend were scoffing.
The next time it happened, he was not the one in a pinch.
Had there been time, Nightwing would have stopped to consider that this was one of the few times Red Robin needed anyone’s help. He was always handling himself, even when he was just Robin.
This time he was in over his head.
Red Hood mumbled a curse. “It’s a gas-based bomb,” he stated, “We hav’ta separate ‘em before the timer runs down, else the spark will cause it to blow.”
Nightwing stopped listening at the word “gas”. His hand was splayed open at his side, drawing out the gases through their canister openings and spreading them thinly throughout the warehouse. Red Hood, so focused on the bomb, paid no attention when the wind picked up around him, the gases carried away and into the night air. Red Robin stirred from where the remains of the bomb was strapped to his chest. “How much time?” he slurred.
“Not enough,” Red Hood gritted out. Tim frowned and turned to look at Nightwing, noting his relaxed stance immediately.
The bomb ticked down, and to keep up the pretense, Nightwing followed Red Hood silently as he jerked them both away, out of the warehouse. His brother was counting under his breath, visibly bracing himself as the timer reached zero. Nothing happened.
“What…” Red Hood bolted back in, just in time to see the Red Robin stumbling to his feet with a giddy smile, the kind one had when escaping from a life-threatening situation. Jason barked a laugh, his shoulders relaxing as he quickly marched forward, preoccupied with finding a way to remove the wiring. Too preoccupied to see Nightwing releasing a small breath, Tim shooting him a raised eyebrow that demanded an explanation. The gaze he shot back promised him, later.
Later found Tim shuffling into Dick’s room, eyes tired but still alert. It took longer than he thought it would to get out the secret.
“I’ve always loved flying,” Dick settled on, splaying his hands in front of him, “I just… there’s more to it than acrobatics. I’ve ignored it for a while, but it’s there, and I know it.”
At Tim’s confused gaze, Dick made a wide sweep with his hand, and the blanket laid around his brother’s shoulders blew up into the air, drifting back down to the floor. “I’ve tested myself for the metagene,” he went on, “But it doesn’t show up. It’s there, though. It definitely is.”
Tim sat silently. After a long moment, he nodded quietly.
“You’re not telling anyone? Bruce?” he questioned. Dick paused. “I haven’t spoken a word about it to anyone,” he admitted, “Nobody but you knows.”
They fell into easy silence, then. It was not long before he pulled his little brother into his side, squeezing him and mumbling a quiet “thank you” under his breath.

Dick Grayson x Mercenary Reader HCs Part 1
a/n: This is basically a Dick Grayson/ Reader thingy that has been stuck in my head for months but I haven’t plotted out an actual fic for. Basically, I have the relationship mapped out in my head but I have no scenarios. I was hoping someone could suggest a plot I can play with. This part is mostly platonic with hints of a future relationship. This is pretty much in a weird version of canon running around in my head.
masterlist
You’re Deathstroke’s apprentice. (This version is the version from the Knights and Dragons movie so he isn't a complete and utter asshole. Look, I just really like that version.) Let's just say you had more moxie than self preservation. It also helps that you’re a meta with a pretty unique power. Anything drawn on your skin turns into a physical object. (You basically have a bunch of permanent markers on you in addition to your usual equipment.)
Dick doesn't like you because of your profession but has a grudging respect for your skill. You think Dick is annoying for getting in the way but you understand that he's just trying to do his best to help the city in his own useless way.
YOU LORDING YOUR HEIGHT OVER DICK WHEN YOU'RE KIDS AND YOU QUIETLY CURSING WHEN YOU STOP GROWING.
You and Dick never set out to be friends. You honestly had no clue when this even started. Maybe it was because you keep accidentally saving each other or maybe because you two have a lot to bond over such as murdered parents and emotionally inept mentors.
When it actually started: You, in full costume, recognize your least favourite bird and see that he's crying and that he not only has an ugly bruise in his face but also a bunch of other injuries. you simply sit with him and throw your arms around him letting your muscles relax as if to tell him ‘it's ok and that you’ve got him’. You let him cry into your shoulder. You understand that you have a little more in common than he's willing to admit. You use one of your motion tattoo wings as a cover from the rain and the other to keep Dick warm. When Dick finally calms down enough to think, he's jarred by how nice you are acting. your general demeanor loosened at this point you let your offense show and the very petulant look on your face draws a tired laugh out of Dick. your angry look melts to give way to something resembling relief. You stay there for a while not speaking before Dick decides he needs to leave. Without a fuss you let him go.
After that, instead of fighting each other during encounters, you two kind of just sit together and start talking about what happened since your last encounter. Or you two play rock, paper, scissors to see who ‘won’.
Dick realizes that your personality is hilariously incompatible with your chosen profession. You rant about how Slade lectures you about learning how to lie better and when they tested how bad you were at it Dick was sure Alfred would politely word it as wooden. you had good control over your body language but you had a look caught between pain and annoyance etched on your face.
Mini scenario:
Dick is really stressed out with school and vigilanteing and with Bruce that he just starts wandering around Gotham.
It was a bad idea. Wandering around Gotham is generally a bad idea especially if your head isn't on straight but there is something relaxing about just wandering around.
Dick ends up at one of Gotham's old movie theatres. One of those businesses that you're pretty sure is a front for something because you can't wrap your head around how they could possibly still be in business.
Then there you were a foot from the ticketing windows. His mind instantly recognizes you. You, in turn, recognize him instantly.
When neither of you launch into an attack, you decide to watch a movie together. After bickering for 15 minutes about what movie you should watch, you decide on a coin toss. Because you won, Dick was subjected to your love of terrible movies.
You go out for burgers afterwards and joke about the movie. You complain about the bad acting and the ridiculous story line. You even come up with how they should have done it.
Your lunch was spent outside in the parking lot of the burger joint.
You walk around some more after you explain that you haven't been to this part of Gotham and Dick gives you a mini tour.
You talk about a mix of mundane teenager things and some complaints about their occupations.
You check your watch and explain that you need to go to the grocery store for ingredients.
Dick goes with you just because. He won't admit that he's having a lot of fun.
Being teenagers they fuck around. Being exceptionally athletic and intelligent teenagers you fuck around entertainingly.
At first, you play 'the price is right' because Dick wants to prove he isn't a spoiled rich kid. He doesn't prove jack. You don't do much better but it's on the opposite end.
You get bored and frustrated so you start a scavenger hunt much to the terror of the other customers. How would you feel about 2 terrors zooming around screaming about butter and backflipping over you?
Dick is busy gloating about his victory when the store gets robbed. Dick can't do anything because right now he is a rich boy extraordinaire and should not be capable of fighting. you on the other hand is sore from losing and just yeets a can into one of the robbers faces.
Everyone's attention pans to your as you ready to lob another can at them. The robbers run leaving their unconscious friend on the floor bleeding.
You still pay for the can but ask Dick to get another one.
Walking down the street, Dick notices how many take out places are on the way and asks why you don't just eat from there. you simply tell him you like home cooking more. He notes that for next time.
You exchange phone numbers so you can plan a next time.
The next time they hang out you both bring homemade snacks to sneak into the theater.
They start hanging out in civvies and do really mundane civilian stuff you want to try and that Dick doesn't get to do enough.
You become a sort of hub of normality for Dick. He can talk to you about all the weird stuff without worrying about your not getting it or your judging him while also doing the most mind numbingly human things.
What do they usually talk about:
Casual nerdy stuff
Weird history shit you reads about
Vigilante stuff
Funny henchman stories from the perspective of a vigilante and a higher level henchman
Sometimes they talk about trauma but they only vaguely mention it
They debate over dumb things like whether there's too much variety in cereal. Guess who's on which side.
Sometimes they discuss fighting techniques.
Dick teaches you Romani and about the Romani culture
You sometimes explains various myths and superstitions from your own culture
Dick sometimes talks about school and galas and you end up making fun of weird rich people. They also end up making fun of the various rich people who hire you.
You'll talk about almost everything with each other
You bring him to one of your safe houses for a home cooked meal after he tells you how he lives off of cereal. You were horrified.
The Titans, Batman, and Alfred get really suspicious about Dick's new civilian friend.
Slade gets suspicious of you frequently visiting certain cities.
Somehow they figure out that you are the wraith.
They all lecture Dick about it.
Slade just finds the whole thing amusing and debates on whether he can actually convince you to give up some of Grayson's secrets.
I just love the image of them casually hanging out in civvies with Batman questioning Dick's life decisions and what your has been influenced by his relationship with Catwoman while Deathstroke and Wintergreen are just quietly amused by the situation at some point they were worried about you discussing merc stuff but neither talk about current business unless it's safe to.
Wintergreen isn't particularly worried since Grayson is a good kid. Wintergreen once joked that you should convince him to join their side. You said that Dick didn't have the right personality to be a merc. The irony of this was completely lost on your.
You spending a ton of your hard earned mercenary money to win a stuffed toy that you think little Rose would want. Dick making fun of you for not getting it then he ends up spending too much money but he eventually gets it. You and Dick pass by a shop and you see the exact same stuffed toy in the shop window for a sixteenth of the fortune you spent at the arcade. Good news though, Rose still has the stuffed toy.
Both of you being petty at dance dance revolution.
When you rant to each other in less than private areas, you rapidly switch languages.
Unbeknownst to Slade, Dick actually knows a bunch of his safe houses and unbeknownst to Dick, those are Deathstroke's safe houses. You are technically not lying when you say it's yours.
You have a silent pact not to blow each other's covers unless they deem it completely necessary (when people's lives are at stake). The only person who knows this pact is Jason and they have bought his silence.
You will both go out of their way to help each other out of a bind.
Sometimes when Bruce and Alfred are out of town and the stars align to have you visiting for a job, you end up helping Dick babysit. Jason gets confused and defensive at first. You have dealt with distrustful youngins. Neither Rose nor Joey wanted anything to do with you at first. You, however, grew up wanting siblings so you tried your darndest to look after them and it is really fucking hard to not let this munchkin grown on you.
When you're old enough to hit the club they often go drinking together. You once tried to have you wingman for Dick. Using the ‘fantastic’ negotiating skills you got from mercenary work, you ended up getting the number for yourself. You once told Rose and Joey about it and both of them made lighthearted jokes about it.
Dick gets confronted by Slade at sword point and asks what his intentions are with his kid (He honestly isn't at all serious but he likes how scared Dick got because the man is terrifying.)
Dick also gets interrogated by Joey and Rose because, you know, this is their big sister.
You often insist on family dinners at least once every 2 weeks with your siblings, sometimes with their mom (Adeline is kind of not ok with you and Rose being present but is trying her best for Joey's sake), sometimes with their dad, occasionally with their uncle Wintergreen.
You usually just casually call Slade 'pops' and you drawls 'dad' when you’re pissed and 'papa' when you’re emotional. You try your damndest to only call him Slade or Deathstroke on the field but sometimes you slip up and calls him pops in the field
You have batnapped each batkid at least once. Batnapping meaning seeing a baby bat and throwing them over your shoulder when you’re pretty sure they’re going to get killed. This isn’t limited to kids. You still do this when they’re adults. The image of you throwing Dick over your shoulder when you two were tiny gives me life but you throwing Dick and/or Jason over your shoulder when they’re huge has me cackling.
You basically accidentally become a de facto big sister/ mom friend to the batkids purely through your friendship with Dick.
Images from this scenario I can’t get out of my head:
Stargazing
Teaching Dick how to cook. He just ends up going to your place for a meal though.
Running around during a rain storm huddled under a jacket with Dick because neither of you checked the weather
Casual affection you two share because you’re both tactile people. Casual affection as in just sitting on the couch in each other’s space, bumping shoulders to communicate, leaning on each other, hugging each other when greeting each other, and all that good stuff.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks for reading! I’m really sorry for the grammar and disorganization.
If you guys are interested in the more bickering dialogue heavy part 2 either comment here or send an ask or pm me. *shrugs* This is just really self indulgent on my part.
