I love this song and it has been echoing through the cavity of my head all day long; ‘Alles auf einmal’ (‘All At Once’) by Selig.

Ich liebe diesen Song, er verfolgt mich mit seinen Echos durch die Höhlen meines Kopfes den ganzen Tag lang: „Alles auf einmal“ („All at once“) von Selig.

I got a nice call from Joachim from MSX, who rang me to make sure that I had received everything, and to wish me a good start to the Good Winds Bike Tour. So grateful for everything that he and Mainstream-MSX have done to get me ready for this epic adventure.

Joachim von MSX rief mich an, um sich zu vergewissern, dass ich alles erhalten hatte und um mir einen guten Start für die Good Winds Bike Tour zu wünschen. Ich bin so dankbar für alles, was er und das Mainstream MSX - Team für mich und dieses unglaubliche Abenteuer getan haben.

A great day today began with coffee and a chill and a jam with Marco Pereira (pictured left), excellent guitarist and human being who is a close friend of Tobse’s and played for 25 years in local hero group Papalagi. Then of course, it was back to the editing deck up in the hills of Oberwolfach for the Video del Día #3... I came back to the computer absolutely WIRED from coffee!

Ein großer Tag begann heute mit Kaffee, einer Erfrischung und einer Session mit Marco Pereira (links im Bild). Er ist ein exzellenter Gitarrist und Mensch und enger Freund von Tobse und spielt gut 25 Jahre bei der im Schwarzwald bekannten Gruppe „Papalagi“. Später ging es natürlich zurück ans Schneidpult hoch in den Bergen von Oberwolfach für die Fertigstellung des Video del Dia #3… Ich kam völlig aufgedreht vom Kaffee zurück zum Computer.

I finally finished the Video del Día #3 way late into the evening; that’s what I get for trying to mash two adventures into one video! Nice memories from a beautiful day.

Und so wurde es erst spät in der Nacht, dass ich das Video fertigbekommen habe: das kommt davon, dass ich zwei Abenteuer in ein Video mischen wollte. Nette Erinnerungen an einen schönen Tag.

There’s still this little voice in my head that wonders, ‘am I actually ready for this trip?’ and then there’s another that reminds me that you are never, completely ready… and that everything gets worked out as you go. Waiting for everything to be perfect, is... a terminal game.

In meinem Kopf ist immer noch die eine leise Stimme, die mich immer wieder fragt, ob ich für die Tour wirklich bereit bin. Und da ist die andere Stimme, die daraufhin sagt, „Du wirst niemals bereit sein, endgültig bereit sein… alles wir sich finden, sobald Du startest. Wenn Du darauf wartest, dass alles perfekt ist, tja … das wäre ein endloses Spiel.“

Must get some sleep shortly; I’m meeting Stefan in Basel tomorrow morning for a nice early coffee before we hit the pedals and start the ride from the Swiss border all the way to the Danish one. I am so pumped up that I can’t stand it… all this training and waiting patiently is going to make me explode!

Nun brauche ich etwas Schlaf. Morgen werde ich Stefan in Basel für einen frühen Kaffee treffen, bevor wir in die Pedale treten und die Tour von der Schweizer zur Dänischen Grenze starten. Ich bin so aufgeregt, dass ich es kaum aushalte… All die Trainings und das geduldige Warten bringen mich schier zur Explosion.
