Long ago, the inhabitants of a kingdom deep within the far reaches of space are shocked when an orb of dazzling light comes upon them, bringing monstrous creatures with it. The inhabitants feared the creatures would surely kill them all, but the creatures themselves are just as confused and scared as to how they suddenly got there in the first place. The two twin rulers of the kingdom made a deal with the creatures that they would live in harmony together, the leader of the creatures known as “Bakugan” enlisted their own twin heirs to be allies of each ruler. The younger ruler eventually saw just how powerful the magical orb, dubbed the “Sacred Orb” was and became tempted by greed, wishing to use it for selfish gain. The older sibling respected the power of the orb as a life giver and refused to let the younger do anything nefarious with it. This led to a conflict that became so intense it split the planet in two. The younger sibling and their Bakugan ally were cast into the shadowy depths while the older sibling and their Bakugan ally remained guardians of the sacred orb, blessing them and their future generations with light and life. The light planet becomes Neathia. The dark planet would come to be called Gundalia.

AU where rather than killing his enemies' Bakugans, Dan collects every season's final villain Bakugan as a way to force them to repent.

Meaning Naga, Farbros, Dharak and Mechtavius Destroyer find themselves not only forcefully depowered to their weakest forms, but are now thrown in as roomies with Drago as Dan's long term Bakugans. Cue shenanigans.

...I had an idea for a really good angst filled (happy ending) Bakugan long oneshot. You know, the kind with the lowercase titles that have (this going on) and are usually Rated M?

Imagine this:

Dan and Drago didn’t defeat Barodius and Dharak. Barodius got the upperhand and knocked out Drago and ultimately killed Dan in Code Eve’s chambers.

Shun was the one to find him, broken, bloody, and with an unbeating heart.

Shun begged Code Eve to bring him back and she said she needed an equivalent price. Shun begged her to take him, instead, and didn’t ask for other prices. Code Eve agreed. She would give him 16 months to finish his life - one for each year he had lived - and then he would die. Shun agreed.

Dan woke up, unaware that he had died. He and Shun worked together to end the war and save Neathia.

Flash forward to Season 4. Dan has left for New Vestroia and Shun’s time is running out. He no longer has months. He has weeks. When he collapses in the Battle Royale, Anubias and Sellon (who are normal aliens in this AU) are concerned. Shun tells them, and Marucho, Rafe, and Paige, what is going on. They are devastated.

Dan comes back with less than two weeks to spare. He learns the truth. He is heartbroken. He wants to take Shun to Neathia to find a cure, to find a way to save him.

Will he manage? Well yeah but how is the real question.

The au is inspired by the Inheritance Cycle books.

Humans and vestal - human race

Gundalians - Urgals

-Vestal is a kingdom ruled by the tirant Zenoheld. The kingdom is allied with Gundalian, a kingdom of urgals ruled by Barodious.

-The Resistance (composed by Mira (leader) and the rest of the brawlers we know) are allied with the elf kingdom of Nethia. 

-In this universe the dragon riders (shur’tugal in the ancient languange) are more common than in the books. They’re strong warriors bounded mentally and spiritually to their dragons. 

-On the Nethia/Resistance allyship side they’re Mira , Fabia ,Ace and Klaus.

-Meanwhile on the side of Vestal and Gundalia there’s Spectra, Mylene, Ren and Barodius.

-Gus is Spectra’s dragon, he’s known as Loivissa Blädrn (Blue blade), Gus being the name he goes by when in human form. Same thing to Shadow, his name is Bleikr Andlát (White Death).

-in this au (unlike the books) the dragons can use magic to turn into humans, it just happens that some do it more often than others. Gus and Shadow do it more often to make it easier to travel among other humans and spy on the rebels. (and for shipping reasons ¬v¬)

-Dan is Mira’s dragon and his name is Brisingr (fire).Shun is Fabi’s and is named Vindr (wind). Ace’s dragon is Percival and Klau’s is Sirenoid (called Siren in this au)

-Barodius’ dragon is still Dharak, Ren' s dragon is Linehalt.

-Jin was once a dragon rider but died during the war. His dragon, Aranaut, also died and now lives inside his eldunarí (a gem that dragon’s expel, it holds their essence and it’s a way they can still live after their death). Fabia always carries him with her.

Unpopular opinion Dharak should had redemption ark and Drago deserved better

the way we're all thinking wavern would have tons of bakugan (especially the big bad) wrapped around her claw 😂😂 boutta call this wavern's harem au

I was thinking, what if Dharak and Barodius had an evil reversal of Dan and Drago's bond in the Reverse AU? Like, Dharak is a young emperor who somewhat sees his Bakugan as his elder, and they got some mutual trust going on as Barodius is like the brains a bit (Dan doesn't hesitate to call him "old man!" and "grandpa!" when insulting the way he talks and acts)

Mag Mel was a boisterous evil Vader-like egomaniac. In Reverse AU, I imagine Dharak would be more like a "bishie boy in armor" instead, since he doesn't seem like an adult much and wouldn't be like Barodius in terms of rivalries with Drago

-“Dharak of evil” is actually good despite the wicked virus affecting him and all the other souls that dwell in his stomach.

-his relationship is personal with Keisuke, because he helped him conquer his fear of loneliness and has so much courage when he’s with him.

-The creators are baffled by this event and removed his monstrous half and reset his mind

-but since fan artists exist, He will live as a All-blooded spirit separated from him just as Akunogan did with Nate.
