Flower Day

Flower Day is celebrated annually on May 20. It makes a toast to the beauty of flowers and the ways they are useful to us. On the holiday, environmentalists and conservationists create awareness about flower conservation and what can be done to save endangered flower species.

History of Flower Day

We love flowers because of their awe-inspiring beauty and fragrance. They also play a significant role in romance, medicine, rituals, and religion. You can spot them at christenings, funerals, weddings, and parties, as corsages and boutonnieres at special occasions, and as home decorations and thoughtful gifts. They are also used at places of worship, especially by Hindus. It’s not uncommon to see religious shrines adorned with flowers.

There are also some flowers that regularly feature in our meals! Nutritious vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, and artichoke are actually flowers. Similarly, some flowers are used as spices, such as crocus (or saffron), cloves, and capers. Hops are used in beer, and dandelion and elderflowers are used in wines and cocktails. Moreover, some flowers are used to make herbal teas, while others are used as metaphors. For example, red roses symbolize love, poppies of death, iris and lilies of burial, and daisies of innocence. Artists and poets have also sought flowers as muses.

However, caring for flowers is no mean feat! Flowers have their own unique requirements in terms of growth and health. Some flowers prefer to be in the shade, while others need sunlight. Still, others thrive in damp soil, while some require the soil to be on the drier side. Flowers are divas, but they’re divas that have held our hearts for centuries.

"I hate the world!" You groan as you flop onto the couch, your bag now forgotten on the floor

Elijah walks into the living room and goes over to you. He sits on the couch and lays a hand on your shoulder.

"What happened?" He asks a smile quirking at his lips, knowing how you're bound to exaggerate things.

"School" You look up at him, your face stone cold as if it were obvious. "It's a literal living hell. And you expect me to make it another 1 and a half years alive?! I mean seriously! It's not like I really need it. All they teach is things that you'll never use outside of that torture chamber. For example, history. Now why the hell do I need to learn about irrelevant history that there's no point in learning, and if I do want to know about it, I live with a bunch of old people who have quite literally lived through everything those stupid teachers teach!" You rant to your dad.

"You need to graduate high school, it's important" He wraps an arm around your shoulders. You lay your head against his chest.

"No, what's more important is knowing who my mom is" You look up at him. "We've been through this before-"

"You still haven't told her, who her mother is? How cruel can you be!" Kol stops in the doorway, hearing your rant a couple minutes prior.

"Kol!" Elijah glares at his little brother. "Yeah!" You exclaim, agreeing with your uncle.

"Y/n!" Elijah looks at you, before turning his attention back to the younger original. He gives him a look that makes Kol immediately leave the house.

"I'll tell you when the time is right, okay?" Your dad rubs his hand up and down your arm gently.

"Whatever" You cross your arms. And the next second, the unlit fireplace bursts into huge flames, along with any candles in the room.

"Hey, you need to remember to have control of your magic. It's very strong and will react to strong emotion if you're not careful" Elijah tells you, his eyes widening a bit at the reaction.

"I purposely did that" You sink back into the couch, extinguishing the flames. "And it's not like I'm gonna go all witch bitch crazy like Dhalia and Esther and try to kill you all" you mumble, but your father can hear it perfectly fine.

"Oh, I know, sweetie" Elijah pulls you into his arms and you lay your head against his chest.

I have a gripe to pick with a Phoenix Wright AA character

There is no character in the original Phoenix Wright trilogy I hate more than Morgan. Why? One word, Pearls. I can speak from personal experience that childhood trauma lasts forever, which is what Pearls would have gone through if any of Morgan's plans worked. When I think about Morgan's situation, the thing that makes me unsympathetic toward her is that she did it for Pearls. After all she went through, she chose to do terrible acts like framing her own niece for murder, and even resorting to an attempt at killing her, and not once did she think about what Pearls would think. Pearls loves Maya dearly, so think about how she would turn out to be if Maya was incarcerated or worse, dead. Now think about how she would've felt knowing that it was her own mother who orchestrated the outcome. I don't think Morgan's tragic backstory would have been enough for Pearls to forgive her mother. That's why I hate her. Was what she went through terrible? Yes. But in no way does her past outweigh her actions. And let's not forget, Misty went through the same shit after the DL-6 incident, and on a greater scale, so it's not like the sisters didn't share that in common. However, Misty turned out different. Hell, Misty's whole family turned out different. When we see her for the first time, Misty is breathtakingly gentle. Mia took her mother disappearing with actual empathy, and instead of getting someone killed over it, she took to law to try and take down the person who ruined her mother. Maya turned out to be a stronger woman than Morgan could ever amount to, helping Phoenix take down criminals in whatever way she could. These characters all went through terrible hardships, and because they had a solid rock to lean against, whether it be the fey sisters for Misty, Maya for Mia, or Phoenix for Maya, they all turned out to be strong women in their lives. But Morgan could've had someone as well, however, she was too busy resenting her. Morgan could have consulted Misty, and it's not like Misty would have done nothing, it'd be out of her character if she actually did do nothing. No, Morgan chose to revel in her hate, and that hate blinded her from being a good mother to Pearls, Dhalia, and Iris. She abandoned her firstborn twins and orchestrated a plot where Pearls would've killed her best friend. So, to all the people who get confused about why people hate Morgan Fey despite the backstory, it's because her actions speak louder than her intentions, she happened to have both terrible intentions and bad actions. I'm not saying her backstory is bad, but I don't think it's meant to be a justification for her actions. A backstory is just that, a backstory. Not every tragic backstory is a redemption. If a tragic backstory creates an evil character, and that character's heinous actions reveal them to just be evil, then they're just f**king evil and don't automatically deserve sympathy.

P.S. I know I included Dhalia in the list of Morgan's unbecoming, but I have problems with her backstory too, but that's mostly a writing thing.

Wish Granted AU: The 7 Teens 👥👥👥🌟

This one was both the most fun and hardest one to do. At first I hated the idea of 7 friends in general cause its canon that the directors added them later in the story and they wanted to just have a free reference without actually doing something. But the more I thought about it, the more I could see that they were accidentally given a good opportunity to create a new batch of loveable characters. So many creative ideas with it! Even the original concept shows that they had more thought and personality to them!

And they actually did have some personality in the deleted scenes, both during the distraction plan and the dungeon scenes, they felt more like characters than the final film. They had Seven Dwarves without actually acting like the Seven Dwarves, like how....???

Sorry to say, they did nothing in the movie. (yeah, I watched Wish, it was lame. Moving on.) One thing I want to achieve here is they'll be a mix between the Dwarves and the Mane 6. I swear this makes sense. 😅 Also one big difference here is that instead of being friends with them from the start, Asha meets each teen one by one when she and Star enter Rosas. A few of them even know Flazino, but not on a super personal level, just that he's seemingly loyal to Magnifico and Amaya. The teens know each other pretty well since they all work around the same place, but having them work together to start a revolution and defeat an evil will cement them as friends with each other and Asha and Star.

So let's give a quick rundown on each one. The more the story evolves, this page will be updated for additional backgrounds or changes to them.

Dhalia: Combination of Twilight/Doc. She's still a baker in this in version, and her wish is to become the greatest baker in the kingdom. (I actually didn't know this was something canon to the movie until later, it just something I came up with by coincidence!) She's incredibly loyal to the king and queen (with a bit of a crush on Magnifico) and willing to do anything for the kingdom. And...let's just say her role in the story will be bigger than some other rewrites or even the film itself.

Simon: Combination of Big Macintosh/Sleepy. While he still retains his sleepiness, its a result of losing his wish. He was actually strong, outgoing and jovial before then. Now he just doesn't have any ambition to do anything aside from his daily tasks. His wish was to become a royal knight and protect the kingdom.

Gabo: Combination of Rainbow Dash/Grumpy. He's incredibly loyal, but he hides it behind his rudeness. He's been duped so many times that he doesn't trust people anymore, especially when finding out he's right about the king being no good. His wish he's keeping secret, but it'll be revealed somewhere in the story.

Bazeema: Combination of Fluttershy/Bashful. Still keeping her kindness and ability to sneak up on people from the movie, Bazeema adores nature and especially animals. She gets along with just about all the animals in the forest, the royal horses and even the birds. She LOVES when Star turns into animals, since he's the entire animal kingdom rolled into one! The only animal she's never succeeded with was Sabor. He's just too much like his owners to get along with. 😂 Her wish is to provide a safe haven where all the animals would be safe and recover together if hurt.

Dario: Combination of Pinkie Pie/Dopey. Now I know you're thinking why not have the Pinkie inspiration for Hal? Well, I wanted her to be a bit more of a grounded type of funny instead of zany. Since Dario is based on Dopey, he provides a lot of awkward yet endearing humor. Sometimes he tries too hard, but he means well. He always manages to make Star laugh though! His wish is to bring laughter to Rosas, as he's one of the few who notices not everyone is exactly happy there.

Safi: Combination of Rarity/Sneezy. Despite Safi's allergies, he loves animals and is a bit shy around Bazeema whenever he helps tend to the garden or animals around Rosas. He might have like a hundred allergies, but he's always generous when it comes to helping his kingdom. Even though the King and Queen don't appreciate it. 😅(I'm also playing with an idea of Safi x Bazeema. Not entirely sure. I just kinda....got a small vibe of that from watching the movie. Maybe it was just me.) His wish is to get rid of his allergies so he can carry on a conversation without sneezing. Yeah, that's it! 😂😂

Hal: Combination of Applejack/Happy. Bit of a rougher gal in this one. She, a hard worker, but has a great sense of humor. She even helps be a test audience for Dario when it comes to his jokes, which eventually leads them to become a duo. Hal feels pretty content, so she hasn't really thought about a wish to give.

At one point later in the story when all of them do come together, I got an idea for their battle cry or team signal being "Heigh, Ho!". I still can't believe they didn't even use that in the movie.

Oh and there is still a traitor in this story, but...its not who you think it is. That's all I can say without spoilers. So you'll have to figure it out as it goes along.

And there you go, that's gonna be it for the characters now! The only one that may get one is Flazino, but it would be later down the line if I did to avoid spoilers. So now, the first test chapter is coming next! It'll include the "Welcome to Rosas" song, but with a twist! And my bestie @signed-sapphire is gonna help me with it, so stay tuned! 😉

Sweethearts, lovers, soulmates 💕

I had to make a cover image for the new Patre0n tier so I figured I will just update them all. Of course as always I used my OCs for the images and they are as follows:

1. Sweethearts - Anahiya and Sorin because this is first love. I rarely draw Ana and it might be the first time I even hinted at Sorin but their relationship is so cute. Imagine, a runaway princess and a merchant's son who helped her find her way. 

2. Lovers - Vanya and William because I adore their relationship but they are the opposite of soulmates of sorts. They are not star-crossed but in GWR in elven society exists a concept of krija, the one married of love. Elves are only supposed to marry to follow the call of fate or to strengthen bloodlines, so marrying the person you love is the ultimate act of defiance.

3. Soulmates - Lilah and Dhalia because they are what I think soulmates would be if they existed in GWR. They are closer to what you see in most books than any other couple here - big scary warrior and her sweet soft wife.

Hayley's character (Taylor's version)

I'm not even a Taylor swift fan, but I think the title works!

I felt like Hayley lost her character. I really do like Hayley. Even though she isn't an original. I believe she did deserve a storyline of her own. At least a character arc. I know Hayley's change in character could've been motherhood. But they never really focused much on it. I've written a character arc template for her.

TVD Hayley Marshal was a kid looking for her family. She lived alone. She didn't mind doing bad things. Hayley was even smug about it in the vampire diaries, but who can blame her. At times, I thought the main cast was annoying with all their rainbow stickers and frequent "accidents". It is rather poetic the person she came to to give her information about her family becomes her family. I'll give them that. However, in the Originals, her arc should've been her realizing, no matter how badass she may think she is, The Mikaelson's- The originals are way worse. And then carry on with her written character. The writers could've simply done this by her doing questionable things- which she does in the first season, by putting Oliver against a wall , planting a seed of doubt in Davina, Going out to the 'doctors' when the Mikaelson's told her not to, or threatening Sophie Devereux. Keep those scenes but completely erase all this talk about Hayley being good, or hinting that she's good. Let the Mikaelson's plan something horrendous, and Klaus just expects her to go with it. And write a scene where he sees her hesitate, and he says something along the lines of "I thought you of all people would be ok with this." And after her child is born. Her depressive episodes would've made so much sense. Not that it doesn't make sense, "I don't want to live like this, Elijah" would be a great end to her character arc. As in Taylor's version we see her unravel instead of completely snap. Seems more thought out. Hayley did die and turn into a hybrid. Season two continues, I think this is when they should've invested in Haylijah. Elijah sees Hayley broken as a vampire and tries to help her. They should've let Elijah try to help, and let them be in a relationship after shortly, and then Hayley and Elijah break up because Elijah didn't tell her he loved her. We got Klaus to help her , so I'm good with my Klayley moments. I'm just saying they should've stoped Just completely break Haylijah off at the very start of the season, and the entire Jackson thing is fine. But Her and Jackson don't get married till' 2/3rds of the season. . Then start the Gialijah relationship towards the end and Gia dies at the end of season two due to Dhalia's plan.(We'd change how she dies but she still dies in the name of Dhalia) Hayley then stays her regular character in seasons three to five. Personally, I like Klayley, so let's add it. It can easily be written after Jackson dies, Both Hayley and Klaus could have an arc relating to wolves and taking care of their child. And she did die at the end of season five. As a vampire too, which was cruel. I don't know what Julie Plec has with orphans, but she seems to love to write them. Do you guys think she should also die in Taylor's version?

After a dragon attacks his hometown, a strange magical phenomenon causes Rai to end up lost in the Endless Forest, an area full of wild magic. With no other way out of the forest, Rai makes a deal with a Glory, an ancient and powerful magic user. She helps him escape but a part of her magic now lives in his mind and he's tasked with freeing her. On the wrong side of the forest, he travels to the nearest city and falls in with a group of runaways and misfits who are heading on a suicidal quest to collect water from the magic springs in the God Corpse. The water is said to be powerful enough to break any spell, curse or bond but it lies at the bottom of a mountain originally designed as a death trap for a Glory. With no other choice, Rai joins the group but the journey is long and some secrets are too much for one person to bear.

Lux: Akkie's adopted brother; an excellent cook; hates mess and disorder with a passion

What kind of magic does Maggy use and how does it work?

Doess Amaya use magic too or does she mainly do potion making?

How does Rosa's feel about stars? Will that play into the story in some way?

Will Asha learn some magic as well?

Mags actually learned to use ancient magic that's strikingly similar to Maleificent. He gathered textbooks from other countries that dipped into light and dark magic. (And the notes of a certain philosopher) Magnifico has always been desiring more and more power, so he chose specifically dark magic because its stronger. It does become threatened when Star's light magic is so pure, it actually starts to counter his, which makes Mags incredibly paranoid that he'll lose his own power. So when we reach the final battle, his power goes wild when its combined with the wishes.

2. Yes, Amaya can use magic! However, when the two discovered they're magic complimented each other, they started to work together and eventually she started putting her magic into the potions. Now her magic acts as an amplifier to Magnifico's. They hope that if they crate a strong enough spell, they can use to reach for the stars themselves.

3. Rosas' knowledge of stars is very limited. To avoid the chances of somebody copying him and wanting the stars powers. He started the believe that stars are nothing but hot gas and light. They mean nothing, can't do anything, and they're not special, so its not worth even looking at them. So much so that when the Teens learn about Star, they have a hard time believing he's a starboy. When Star arrives, Mags is concerned that other stars could come down if other people wished on them too, so later he creates storm clouds that block the night sky so no one can see them.

4. Yes, but not the traditional way. She never had a desire to learn about magic because it was used to destroy her original home and it cost the life of her father, so actually hates it a little. Asha will have to learn near the end of the story to save Rosas when she helps Star, Dhalia and Gabo find the ingredients to reverse the dark magic on the wishes.

5. I'm considering it, yeah! He does have a slight fear of it, so I'm thinking that if that bothered him, he really doesn't want to know that one of them likes to add things to Dahlia's recipes. 😂 Plus when Star turned into when he just freaking loses it. A MAGIC MOUSE? KILL IT! If he can't do it, then Sabor's got a snack! 😂
