Did you ever manage to get a hold of those shonen/shoujo jump zines back in the day? Where they'd have like a chapter or two from various manga, and it was like a newletter. That stuff was the best!

OH yes, I was subscribed to Shounen Jump for several years! It's where I was introduced to my beloved Eyeshield 21 when Jump featured it in the US back in 2005! Somewhere I have a huge box full of ALL of my chonky SJ mags. I kept that sub until I learned how behind they were when I started reading manga online, haha

y'know, I really wish the pandora hearts anime told the complete story/received a second season. the music was divine, the dark victorian with magic setting was great (as was dgray man which is...still not done after all these years?? I was super surprised to learn that it's still ongoing). i loved ph's character design too. i know the same author wrote the case study of vanitas and i was originally interested in it when it was announced, but i really don't like vampires in fiction. just, not my thing.

and i've always been too lazy to read the rest of the ph manga, but i heard it gets really good. the anime just barely scratched the surface!

okay but really at their reunion megumi is like okay so your whole thing is saving ppl right? let me appeal to that #and yuuji's like nah my whole thing is saving you now #because he already failed at that. his whole value system has been ripped out from under him and he has to rebuild #and if megumi had learned the lessons and gone through the growth yuuji had to get to that point #he never would have been taken over by sukuna. but like. that's tragedy for ya #i actually love how shonen rips away its characters childhoods through violence and forces them to confront themselves #who are you without the lies and misconceptions that comforted you up to this point? #it's very real. that's what growing up is. it's awful.

The ending of the Shibuya arc is so fucking funny. Like if it was in any other story right that a character could unleash a godzilla type monster at any point there would probably be long standing talks about why Not to do that. But nah Megumi "with this treasure I summon" Fushiguro looks at the mess that is Shibuya and says well, what's one more? And his only apology in regards to unleashing Mahoraga is that he'll be dying on Yuji. Not on the untold multitudes of people, his worst shikigami is going to crush. It's the craziest most selfish way to go out and it doesn't even kill Megumi and he is really not sorry he did it.

Then on the other side Yuji sees most of this go down via Sukuna. He witnesses the destruction Mahoraga unleashed. He sees Sukuna clearly has a plan to use the 10 Shadows. In any other series the mc would have become concerned for the world ending potential of putting the greatest villain behind the driver's seat of the biggest monster. And running away from Megumi in that context would make perfect sense. Until you get to Yuji's actual reasoning. He's worried about Megumi. Yuji is worried that within the endless slaughter it'll be Megumi that suffers. Yuji agrees to go with Megumi because he's incapable of telling him no. And when the worst comes to worst Yuji is Still only worried that Megumi is in danger.

First time I’ve drawn him in seven years. Source of my longest ongoing daydream/imagined fanfic that I will probably never write down. Unparalleled, untouchable, unreachable comfort character number one. I probably got brain damage from how much I’ve thought about him in my life. When I’m old and my brain is mush I’ll be sitting in a nursing home and this is who I’ll be thinking off because it’ll be the only thing I remember.

Ohhhh this ask is fun but also pretty hard to answer cuz there are so many anime I love! Anyways: SPOILERS FOR THESE SPECIFIC ANIME UNDER THE CUT: Promare, Trigun Stampede, Classicaloid, Yuuri on Ice, Moriarty the Patriot, Tiger and Bunny, Scott Pilgrim takes off, Vanitas no Carte, Naruto and DGray Man

1) The kiss of life from Promare

This and Galo saving Lio after he had been kidnapped just gives Galo and Lio as a ship major classic disney couple vibes like Sleeping Beauty or Snow White and has essentially sedimented Galolio as one of my favourite ships of all time for the rest of my days.

2) Because I am Vash the Stampede from Trigun Stampede

Literally the moment this entire series had built up towards, the two twins’ ideologies clashing and Vash proclaiming that no matter what he will always love humanity.

3) Every time Schubert says Beethoven Senpai from Classicaloid

It’s just pure comedy gold and cracks me up EVERY TIME!

4) Victuuri Proposal from Yuuri!!! on Ice

I mean…. It’s a canon gay proposal and one of the most influential queer representations in all of Anime. How could I NOT love this???

5) Live Liam from Moriarty the Patriot

I will admit this was a hard choice between the first time Liam and Sherlock meet and the "catch me if you can, Mr. Holmes” scene, but my final decision ended up being this one. Just the build up and Sherlock being too damn stubborn to even think about letting Liam become a Martyr. The speech of talking Liam out of committing suicide for the greater good and that he is not the monster he thinks he is aaaaahhhhhh i love it all. But I love this scene especially because I am a slut for characters jumping of high places to save their loved one.

6) You are not dying, Kotetsu from Tiger & Bunny

Literally the main reason why I ship these two and believe they’re in love. Just beautiful and tragic and Barnaby having learned how to cook Kotetsu’s favourite dish aaawwweeeee.

7) Wallace’s husband from Scott Pilgrim takes off

Is it the best joke in the anime? Nah there are objectively better ones out there. Does this line live rent free in my head regardless? Yes

8) That gay ass Dance Scene from Vanitas no Carte

9) Gaara vs. Rock Lee from Naruto

I had loved Rock Lee since the very moment he had shown up on screen the first time, but this moment right here, especially when he took off those weights, solidified him as my favourite naruto character for eternity. Just this boys unyielding determination to achieve his dream even without being able to use any ninjutsu is remarkable.

10) The Earl plays the 14th melody from Dgray Man

It’s …. Idk how to explain it, to hear a song previously associated with the hero of the show, being played slightly off key by the main antagonist sends chills down my spine.
