Hihi! Hugs! Currently a little bit obsessed with pokemon since the dlc for indigo disk comes out soon (4 days as of now when I'm posting this) so apologies if I'm not posting some pretty lovely otome guy/girl stuff for a little while...I just can't help but live and breathe pokemon until I have terapagos securely in my party! Little baby turtle must cuddle forever and ever!

So for now, I offer you random pokemon teams that remind me of my/your men for no particular reason : (Ikevamp) -> (Tears of Themis)

Arthur (Ikevamp) :

• Popplio -> Primarina line (Because Vic! Ok? I think I'm referring to one of my first posts)

• Applin -> Flapple (Because of that thing when you give someone an Applin you confess your feelings and ensure a happy future together, reminds me of the red ribbon thing ok!!! ><)

• Lillipup -> Stoutland (Remember in Alola how it helped you find stuff like a dowsing machine would in previous gens? It can be a detective-y pokemon! Yay! Also again...dog...Vic...yeah...still this one represents his detective skills)

• Happiny -> Blissey (Arthur's doctor skills and how much he cares! I can see him having a Blissey!)

• Mimikyu (His interest in the occult and its cute)

• Shiny Milcery -> shiny Alcremie (Reminds me of his love of fudge! It just does! Not much of an explanation but yeah, also the blue decorations!)

Isaac (Ikevamp) :

• Porygon-[2-Z] (It's a super math-y pokemon ok! Well at least the most math-y in my opinion, plus it levitates which I think Newt would find cool)

• Magnemite -> Magnezone (Idk it's a pokemon for really smart people and it's a super science-y and professor-y pokemon...so yeah...don't expect me to try and give a physics answer, my brain is fried)

• Applin -> Appletun (Enough said, just has to happen, it's a big cuddly sweet apple pie, Newt...apples...yeah...this one is sweet ok, also the romantic thing about Applin)

• Sandshrew -> Sandslash (Kanto to be exact! Because Harry, need I say more?)

• Hatenna -> Hatterene (Newt is super calm...so I can see a Hatenna sticking around him! It might cutely fall asleep at his desk with him)

• Togepi -> Togekiss (Newt had a thing with Theology, don't quiz me I'm tired, anyways in Sheild the dex entry is "Known as a bringer of blessings, it's been depicted on good-luck charms since ancient times" and I was like...awww Newt might like that...kind of a sweet angelic pokemon)

Napoleon (Ikevamp) :

• Rufflet -> Hisuian Braviary (Jupiter! Because, because, because)

• Honedge -> Aegislash (Have you seen his rapier? Enough said, the man can fight)

• Sewaddle -> Leavanny (Idk this always feels like a nurturing pokemon that I could see in a school as an assistant or smth so it would help out at L'École de Napoleon or smth like that)

• Riolu -> Lucario (It's a smart and just fighter, it fits! Plus it doubles Leon's coolness factor XD)

• Bagon -> Salamence (Bagon wanted a change so bad it happened! The whole flying thing...Leon gets it! He wanted to bring about some change pretty badly so they just kinda connect...plus it's a cool dragon!)

• Komala (Cute napping Koala to cuddle with...need I say more? Even more of a reason to sleep in)

Faust (Ikevamp) :

• Shroodle -> Grafaiai (Mephie! It's a poison type! Yay experiments!)

• Beldum -> Metagross (It's a smart person science-y pokemon that floats!)

• Elgyem -> Beheeyem (It loves experimenting with humans and thier memory so Faust would probably get a kick out of it!)

• Zorua -> Zoroark (He would be fascinated by the shape-shifting and it brings the coolness factor, sorta somewhat matches his vibes)

• Nacli -> Garganacl (It can hurt and heal with its salt powers which might get rather useful for Faust)

• Spiritomb (guy works as a priest...I'm assuming he's had experiences with funerals and stuff and I can see this as his ghost type pokemon)

• Deerling -> Winter Sawsbuck (Svart's animal is a deer...and Vyn's hair is white ok!)

• Petilil -> Liligant (His love of gardening and elegant things...it just kinda works)

Smutty Blog Introduction

Hello fellow earthlings! I’ve been debating for a while now on whether or not to become more active on this platform. Given the short nature (ish) of the content here, it seems like a good option given that I’m currently quite busy with Uni and other life stuff in general, but still feel that writer’s itch and wish to write down thoughts and ideas to explore some creative avenues. Now, for that to happen, I’m more than happy to take requests, given that I’m a part of quite a few fandoms. I’ll also add the characters I’d be willing to write for, so you guys get an idea as to what to expect.

That being said, this is a blog largely dedicated to all the smutty fics I come up with, so it’ll mostly be one-shots, drabbles, headcannons, NSWF alphabets, etc. I reserve the right to not write certain stuff because, well, I might not be into it (this includes underage stuff and noncon, straight off the bat, sorry, that’s just how it is). She’s got the flash turned on, and each spark of light is a burst of something trying to get close enough to eat him. Dex flinches from the light, curving his arms up over his head even as they ache from his earlier discipline. 

The guests have mostly gone, and by now it’s just Madam and three other people - two men and a woman. Their faces bleed and run like candles, wax that drip-drip-drops to the ground and pools there in puddles of skin that Dex knows will expand like water pouring from a crack in the dam.

Another burst of light, and he whimpers. The light is worse than the shadows, but all of it is monsters.

“Madam, if we could take him back to his room-” Peter starts, and Karen hushes him, a harsh snapped shut up that had Peter’s mouth closing quickly. Dex can’t look at him either, not directly. From the side Peter is okay, but head-on he starts to run, too, and Dex curls up where he sits on the coffee table, pleading in his mind to be saved.

The hair left, and the eyes, and the hands that should love him. Or they weren’t here. He can’t remember, he doesn’t know how old he is, what year it is. It’s all fear, it’s a drumbeat, it’s his heartbeat, a thrumming hummingbird of panic with wings that try to bash their way out from his breastbone and break there and crumble and and and-

what if he’s only twenty-three again? What if he doesn’t know there is an end at all? What if there isn’t one?

“How do you feel, darling?” Karen asks, and her voice is low and soft. 

He shudders and curls up tighter, tears leaking out from the corners of his eyes. His veins hurt, they itch and burn and hurt, and he’s got too much in his system, he can’t take this. He wants her to hug him, he wants to be held, he wants someone to touch him but if they touch him he’ll be eaten by shadows and light and die again.

He dies so many times, here, again and again, for her. But he is not yet dead enough to make her happy.

“This is cruel, Karen,” One of the men says, and his voice twists and writhes like snakes. Then he laughs, and reaches out faster than Dex can react, ruffling his hair with a heavy monster’s hand. Dex flinches back, but the touch feels so good, too. It feels good to be eaten by monsters.

“Is he on the menu for tonight, too?” The man asks, with a different tone to his voice.

Not yours, Dex thinks, but he can’t make his hands move to sign the words. Not yours not yours not yours, not yours to take, no no no

“Unfortunately, Chad, he’s not.” Karen shrugs, smiling thinly. “He’s not on the menu for anyone right now. He used to be a bit of fun for a friend of mine, but… someone got too attached.”

“The pet, or your friend?”

“Oh, Dex. My friend wouldn’t sully himself that way.”

The man touches him again, at the back of his neck over the green leather collar with his name stamped in gold on the front, and Dex shivers. He wants to be touched more, he wants it, he swoons under the attention but it is attention given by a man whose fingers are claws reaching out to grasp him and pull him into the darkness-

“Chad, lean in. Let’s get a photo of this. Dex, eyes up, darling.”

He opens his eyes slowly, barely conscious, hardly aware of his mindless obedience. She takes a photo and there’s no flash this time, only his misery in perfect detail, lit by the lamplight in the overwarm room. 

“Why do you take so many pictures?” The remaining female guest asks. She’s drunk and Dex is scared of her more than anyone else.

“Hm? Oh, to send to a friend of mine.” Karen’s expression goes blank for a moment, cold. Dex looks at her and sees a woman carved from glacial hatred. She hates him so much, most of all, because he failed her.

He wasn’t what he was supposed to be.

He wasn’t perfect.

He isn’t broken enough, but when he looks down, his hands are made of shattered glass with bits that shake off onto the floor, parts of him he’ll never get back. One of the shards of glass whispers, if you don’t get help, Isaac, we can’t stay together any longer.

Dex’s head slowly tilts, staring at the glass. What? He mouths.

You’ll be late again, Isaac, a different piece of him says, and the glint of the crystalline memories on the ground is beautiful, but he can’t get down from the coffee table to chase them. If he does, he’ll drown in the darkness, it will pull him under. 

Late for what? Who’s Isaac?

Darling, a familiar voice says, and Dex’s mouth opens to answer before he remembers the voice isn’t real.

A shard of glass beckons two fingers in his direction, calling him. Come here. You’re doing fine.

“Madam-” Sebastian this time, his voice is quieter but more insistent than Peter’s had been. “Madam, please let us take him upstairs, please-”

“Not yet, Sebastian. Refresh the guests’ drinks.” Karen takes more photos, of Dex staring down at the carpet, his eyes wide and wild, whites showing all around them, pupils so dilated there is almost none of the natural light brown left. “What are you thinking, Dex?”

Dex looks up at her. The ice woman, goddess, devil who rules his life, who will kill him the next time he is asked for.

Help me, he signs. 

She laughs and takes another picture, of him mid-sign. “That’s perfect, darling.”

Darling, the shards of glass on the floor echo, softer, gentler. Loving, and whispering, and the shadows are made of love, aren’t they? Maybe he misjudged. Maybe they won’t eat him at all.

You’re doing fine, Dex. 

He leans over, trying to get a better look at the beckoning glass, and loses his balance. He falls gracelessly off the coffee table, landing with a thump on a hardwood floor where there isn’t any glass at all. 

They laugh at him. They laugh and it bounces around him, breaks apart his fragile skin, sinks into his bones. They laugh and laugh and he just wants to take a deep breath, but he can’t, because the shadows are down his throat and in his lungs, now.

He starts to gasp, fighting the shadows, trying to force air in and out of his lungs.

Just stop, the shadows whisper. Just stop fighting. There is no gold in your cracks. You’re broken and no one will put you together, now. 

He closes his eyes, forcing a deep breath in, pushing past everything inside of him, all the whispered words and the insistence that he should stop trying to hold onto what is left, and he thinks, you’re lying to me.

Peter and Sebastian, standing in the doorway together, stare in horror. Henry has already escaped back up to his room, to hide from seeing Dex like this. Peter and Sebastian, though, stay.

When they are done laughing, they move on to other things, and Dex pushes himself slowly up onto his hands and knees. Everything hurts, from the way he lives now, and he ignores that pain to force the shadows out of his lungs in an exhale that feels like it goes on forever. He is dizzy by the time he stops breathing out, but the lying shadows are gone.

Dex pushes himself up, using the coffee table to get up onto his knees. His feet are harder to maneuver, but finally - finally - he stands.

Karen, showing a painting on her wall off to her guests, turns to look at him with surprise. “Dex?”

I go sleep now, Dex signs to her, the signs falling apart in shaking hands. He doesn’t have fingers, does he? No, he does. Black glass. Obsidian hands. Shatter-shock. Dex giggles, suddenly, a burst of hysterical laughter that bubbles up and overflows. 

“I’ve never seen you stand back up before,” Karen says, softly. Her eyes narrow, and she is a lizard, and he imagines her forked tongue slithering out, hiss-hiss, and giggles again. He falls, but Peter is somehow there to grab him.

The shadows recede, they fade, because they tell lies he doesn’t have to believe. They aren’t in his lungs, or they are but he’s a shadow, too, and shadows cannot eat each other.

I am shadow, Dex signs to Peter. I am made shadow. Shadow me, D-E-X, Ten is shadow there is man I-S-A-A-C is late for shadow time shadows learn I go sleep now hell burns but I freeze

“Jesus,” Peter whispers staring at his hands as they move. “M-Madam, please-”

“Go ahead,” Karen says dismissively, waving one hand and turning back to her guests, Dex forgotten now that the pictures are taken and sent, that the right people have seen him laid low enough to please her.

“Come on, Dex, time for bed,” Peter says uneasily. 

I go sleep but alone, Dex signs mournfully. P-E-T-E-R, no shadows in my air now. Shadows lie. Listen listen yes good. All at once, his hands don’t pause between the signs, they shift like fluid, like liquid made of fingers. Tell me who I am. Doing fine D-E-X.

“You’re Dex,” Peter answers, and he meet Sebastian’s eyes. The other Boy moves to his side as well, and together they half-help, half-carry Dex across the room. “You’re Dex. We’re going to lay you down, okay?” 

He trips on the first step and falls hard, slamming onto his knees. No, he signs, staring up at the stairwell and seeing somewhere else entirely, somewhen else. Other times and places, a river of experience that rushes towards him. I said no.

“You need to sleep this off, Dex.”

“She gave him too much,” Sebastian murmurs. “He’s going to be fucked up all night. I’ll stay with him to be sure, if you’ll make me some coffee. I’m… I’ve got a long night.”

“Yeah, okay. I’ll tell Henry to go to sleep and get up at 5 to take over?”

“Yeah… yeah, that’d be great. Then if you take back over at noon, we can just… trade off. He’ll be fine by tomorrow night.”

“I hope so. Okay, back up, Dex, come on…” They hoist him, gently, and he moves up the stairs, his eyes half-closed, drifting in his mind. 

Please, he signs. Please, please, please.

He doesn’t know what he’s asking for, any longer.

He can’t stop asking, anyway.

5e Beowulf the King of the Ring build (Skullgirls)

Finally, the tiger’s come back to Skullgirls!

Judging by the immense (and I mean intense, like a comedic amount) of likes on my Isaac build either there’s a really dedicated Skullgirls fanbase on Tumblr, a really dedicated group of people who wanted to see an Echo Knight build, or I just got insanely lucky. Regardless consider this a test of sorts, but that isn’t to say I don’t want to come back to Skullgirls!

Beowulf was always my favorite character in Skullgirls, having a very unique kit with a focus on brawler-esque grabs (I mained Bella before Beo was added so I’m all about that grapple trash) with the hype mechanic to boost them, and the chair throwing giving you different “stances” which was just fantastic. I’m still nowhere near good (especially since I haven’t practiced SG in ages) but the story as old as time of the hero slaying the great beast translates well into any form, including D&D!

GOALS

Chair we go! - Beowulf doesn’t fight fair; he fights to put on a show. Wrestling isn’t fake and we’ll have to use everything we have available to us, including our fists, the environment, and of course The Hurting!

Hypeman - We’ll need to get the crowd on our side to really get a fight going, even if that crowd just consists of our party.

Wulfamania runs wild! - Beowulf is a grappler above all else, and we’ll need to be able to grab our foes and slam them into the ground! Because grappling is historically very useful in 5e.

RACE

Beowulf’s the man that bested the beast and Variant Humans can best many a foe. You get +1 in two Ability Scores of your choice: choose Strength and Constitution to be the best in the ring. You also get a Skill of your choice and a Language of your choice. For your language go for Giant obviously since you were around for the Gigan wars, and for your skill of choice choose Persuasion to hype the crowd up!

Variant Humans also get a Feat and Tavern Brawler is perfect for a brawler who may or may not be in a tavern. You can increase your Strength or Constitution by 1 (I opted for Strength) and get proficiency with Improvised Weapons along with a d4 Unarmed Strike. But most importantly you can attempt to grapple an enemy with your Bonus Action after hitting them with an Unarmed Strike or Improvised Weapon. I think you have more than enough chair training to say that it isn’t an improvised weapon for you anymore but you can still grab something off the sidelines and smash it over your opponent’s head before grabbing them.

ABILITY SCORES

15; STRENGTH - Have you seen those biceps? Beowulf bested a Gigan, and he didn’t do it by sitting down for tea.

14; CHARISMA - You’re a warrior of the people, and the people love you.

13; CONSTITUTION - Taking hits to the face from a girl with a punching hat takes some durability.

12; DEXTERITY - Beowulf hops around the battlefield with... some grace.

10; WISDOM - While he’s known to keep a level head Beowulf is prone to angry outbursts.

8; INTELLIGENCE - Your job is to make chair puns, wolf puns, and hit people with a chair while howling like a wolf. Annie’s right about one thing: you’re no genius.

BACKGROUND

There’s no Wrestler background in 5e but Gladiator comes pretty close, and I’m starting to notice that I use the Gladiator background quite a lot. Regardless you get proficiency in Acrobatics and Performance to float like a bee and dance like a butterfly... wait did I get that wrong? You also get proficiency in a Disguise Kit for pallet swaps, and a musical instrument of your choice: “microphone” isn’t on the list for a mic drop, but your theme has a pretty pronounced electric guitar so a Lute is pretty close.

Your feature By Popular Demand proves that even old dogs can still do their tricks. By fighting in the ring for the people of New Meridian you can get a place to stay the night and some good food. What’s more is that after seeing you fight the people will remember why you were the hero they needed in a time of darkness, and treat you like a proper champ! Gotta love the people!

THE BUILD

LEVEL 1 - BARBARIAN 1

Starting off as a Barbarian because no duh; you’re wearing ornamental furs and a sweater. That’s what Unarmored Defense equal to your DEX plus your CON is for!

You get proficiency in two skills of your choice: Athletics are an obvious must and while you don’t have dog personally Animal Handling will let you act like a dog? (But it’s mostly for other skills we’ll get later down the line.)

But of course the main feature of a Barbarian is their Rage, letting you get into the Wulf zone as a Bonus Action. You have advantage on Strength checks and saving throws, do increased melee damage, and have resistances to Slashing, Piercing, and Bludgeoning damage while raging. I’d just chock that up to good blocking and sick combos. Your rage lasts for 1 minute but you have to either hit or be hit every turn to keep it up, and you have a limited number of them per Long Rest.

Also in terms of weapons I’d say a folding chair could pull double duty as both a weapon and a shield. Hrunting was a sword but I’d flavor The Hurting as a Shield and Sledgehammer, or possibly a Maul if you’re more into big damage die.

LEVEL 2 - BARBARIAN 2

At level 2 Barbarians get Reckless Attack, allowing you to ditch the chair for a giant severed arm. (Note: you can’t use a giant severed arm as a weapon though I’d personally say that a Glaive or something similar would do the trick.) Fighting recklessly gives you advantage, but also gives enemies advantage to hit you.

You also get Danger Sense, giving you advantage on Dexterity checks against things you can see. Makes sense since you can block a barrage of gunfire with a folding chair.

LEVEL 3 - BARD 1

What? Did you really think we’d ignore the class of the people with the fighter of the people? I may be arrested for my many war crimes of not choosing Bard at level 1 and multiclassing into a spellcaster as Barbarian, but while you can’t cast spells while Raging you can end Rage with a Bonus Action to start casting again. But seeing as Bardic Inspiration isn’t a spell you can still use that while enraged to hype up the crowd while you’re in the fray! The crowd of course being your party, who you can give a d6 to add to an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw. Beowulf is a really good assist! You have a number of inspirations equal to your Charisma modifier which come back after a Long Rest.

Regardless you do still get Spellcasting as a Bard. You learn 2 cantrips of your choice: Dancing Lights will let you set up some arena lighting for your pitiful human eyes, and Vicious Mockery is a contractual obligation as a Bard. Hype up the crowd by making them turn heel on your opponent!

For your spells of choice Charm Person will let you use your heroic good looks to get someone on your side, and speaking of heroics Heroism will let you or a bud stand up to the Gigans. Disguise Self can be good for some pallet swaps if your Disguise Kit isn’t working, and Healing Word will let you further “hype” up the crowd.

You also get proficiency with one skill and one musical instrument of your choice. If you want to be the man you’ve gotta play with Big Band, so a Horn would be a good choice of instrument but truthfully it doesn’t matter. Likewise your skill proficiency really doesn’t matter so pick whatever the party needs. (I personally opted for Insight.)

LEVEL 4 - BARD 2

At level 2 Bards get Jack of All Trades, letting you compensate a bit for your sub-par mental skills with dumb luck, because the hero is always at least somewhat proficient. (Half proficient, to be exact!) Remember that Jack of All Trades also applies to Initiative checks, which is good because our Dexterity is rather sub-par at the moment.

You also learn another spell at this level and Longstrider will let you dash a little more to lay down The Hurting. You can also give your allies a d6 of health whenever they heal during a short rest with Song of Rest. This ability already scaled poorly and considering that this is a multiclass build it’s really not going to give you much. But it’s there!

LEVEL 5 - BARD 3

Third level Bards can choose their College and what better school for a hypeman than the College of Glamour? Glamour Bards can use their Bardic Inspiration on Mantle of Inspiration, giving a number of creatures equal to your Charisma modifier 5 temporary hitpoints and the ability to move up to their movement speed as a reaction. I’d chock it up to setting up your allies for a good assist.

In addition you get Enthralling Performance: if you perform for at least a minute you can attempt to charm a number of creatures equal to your Charisma modifier. If they fail a Wisdom save they’ll idolize you, and stop anyone from hindering you. They won’t go out of their way to fight for you but for the hour they’ll be completely infatuated with you, and if it fails they won’t know anything happened so you can try again after a Long Rest.

You also get Expertise in two skills (Athletics and Persuasion will keep you as the king of the ring) and another spell, but we’ll leave the spell choice for now.

LEVEL 6 - BARD 4

At 4th level you get an Ability Score Improvement, or rather a Feat! The Athlete feat will greatly increase your mobility in the ring and also increase your Strength by 1.

You can also learn another cantrip along with another spell (or two, since we skipped the spell last level.) For your cantrip take Prestidigitation for more real wrestling special effects, and we can now take second level Bard spells: Suggestion will let us further influence the crowd (or an enemy) with simple one word suggestions (duh), and for our other spell how about something fun? Gift of Gab from Acquisitions Incorporated will let you make sure you say nothing dumb on camera.

LEVEL 7 - BARD 5

5th level Bards get Font of Inspiration, allowing your Bardic Inspiration to come back on a Short Rest to keep the crowd hyped! And speaking of Bardic Inspiration your Inspiration die increases to a d8, and your Mantle of Inspiration now grants 8 temporary hitpoints instead of five.

You also get access to third level spells now and Catnap will guarantee a good night’s sleep, even during a Skullgirl attack. Or you could take an actually useful spell: I don’t own you.

LEVEL 8 - BARBARIAN 3

It’s time to properly throw down now! Third level Barbarians can choose a Primal Path and Path of the Totem Warrior gives you all the excuses you need to dress up in a wolfish fursuit! To start off you can cast Beast Sense and Speak with Animals as rituals thanks to Spirit Seeker; not too in character but hey that’s why I told you to take Animal Handling proficiency.

But of course the point of Totem Warrior is your Totem Spirit: resist the urge to pick Bear for once and instead pick the totem of the Wolf of course! The Wolf totem makes it so that your allies have Advantage on any enemy within 5 feet of you while you’re raging: Beowulf is a great assist and this is extremely useful to keep the damage up, especially if you have a Rogue or Paladin in the party. And speaking of Rage you can now do so 3 times per long rest.

LEVEL 9 - BARBARIAN 4

4th level Barbarians get an Ability Score Improvement and it’s time, it’s time; it’s time to max out our Strength for the hardest hits with The Hurting, as well as your fists!

LEVEL 10 - BARBARIAN 5

5th level Barbarians finally get that Extra Attack I’ve been blowing off for awhile, along with Fast Movement, allowing you to hop around the battlefield with 10 feet of extra movement while not wearing Heavy Armor.

LEVEL 11 - BARD 6

Now that we can throw a punch on our own it’s time to keep the crowd on our side! Glamour Bards get Mantle of Majesty, letting them cast Command as a Bonus Action without spending a spell slot for a full minute. Remember that you can’t cast while Raging but you can only use this one per Long Rest anyways, so get the crowd hyped before getting into the thick of things!

Speaking of spells you know what hurts more than a chair being thrown at you? A flaming chair being throw at you! Heat Metal lets you heat up The Hurting (or something else that’s made of metal) to do 2d8 fire damage, and keep doing that damage on following turns as a Bonus Action. In addition the target has to succeed on a Constitution saving throw or drop whatever you heat up, but even if they succeed they’ll have disadvantage due to the heat! Remember that this spell has unlimited range so you’re more than welcome to sit in the back taunting your foes while they experience the proper Hurting.

Oh and you get Countercharm which is poo poo garbage. True champs don’t get Charmed or Frightened anyways, and they wouldn’t waste their time with a pep-talk when you can just tap out.

LEVEL 12 - BARBARIAN 6

6th level Totem Warriors get the Aspect of the Beast and I’m actually going to suggest picking Bear this time for better throws thanks to an increased carrying capacity and lifting capacity, and Advantage on heavy lifting and breaking. You lift Big Band up like he’s a small street performer. This works even when you’re not raging, but you can also Rage four times per Long Rest now.

LEVEL 13 - BARBARIAN 7

7th level Barbarians get a Feral Instinct for Advantage on Initiative checks and the ability to Rage during a Surprise round. First hit advantage is important!

LEVEL 14 - BARBARIAN 8

8th level Barbarians get an Ability Score Improvement, or rather a Feat to keep our enemies down. The Grappler Feat gives you Advantage against any enemy you’re grappling and allows you to pin your opponents for your allies to hit ‘em while they’re down.

Is grappling largely a joke in 5e? Yes. Is level 14 way too late to get this Feat? Yes. Wouldn’t you just be better off with an ASI instead? Yes. Is this in-character? Yes. Are you allowed to take this feat earlier? Yes. Are you allowed to change the build? Yes.

LEVEL 15 - BARBARIAN 9

9th level Barbarians get Brutal Criticals, rolling one additional damage die when they get a crit. So if you’re using a Warhammer you’d roll the weapon’s damage die again, but for a Maul you’d only roll another d6. So now might be time to swap to a Warhammer or something similar. Regardless of your choice you’ll be doing a lot of damage, especially since your Rage damage increase is now a +3 on hit.

LEVEL 16 - BARBARIAN 10

10th level Totem Warriors can Commune with Nature as a ritual thanks to Spirit Walker. Again not really in-character but you can chat with the nun at the church for help with your giant now-sentient arm.

LEVEL 17 - BARBARIAN 11

11th level Barbarians can fight even if they’d normally be knocked out thanks to Relentless Rage. If you drop to 0 hitpoints while raging you can make a DC 10 Constitution save to stay at 1 hitpoint instead. Every time you do this the DC increases by 5 but it resets back to 10 at the end of a Short or Long rest. Remember to tap out if the heat gets too heavy so you can regenerate some red health in safety.

LEVEL 18 - BARBARIAN 12

12th level Barbarians get another Ability Score Improvement and you’ve got a few options: want better spells? Increase your Charisma. More health, armor, and saving throws? Constitution. I personally opted for CON but feel free to build however you please.

You can also now Rage 5 times per Long Rest.

LEVEL 19 - BARBARIAN 13

13th level Barbarians further improve their Brutal Criticals to roll two additional damage die, meaning that a crit will do 4 times the damage if you’re using a weapon that only rolls one damage die. Let Wulfamania run wild at your table when you hit that big crit!

LEVEL 20 - BARBARIAN 14

14th level Totem Warriors get their final boost thanks to Totemic Attunement and honestly any of the options work: Bear is good for survival, Elk will let you knock some foes down with a Gigan arm, Tiger will let you combo better, and Wolf will let you lay down the general smackdown. Wolf’s obviously the most in-flavor but build your own Beowulf; if there was a one-size-fits-all guide for fighting games we’d all be at EVO.

FINAL BUILD

PROS

Say your vitamins and eat your prayers - Hey guys: did you know that Barbarians are tanky? Despite your Constitution modifier not being overly impressive you have around 200 health to throw down with.

The Big Bad Wulf is your hookup - You’ve got a lot of combo starters for your teammates, even when you’re not ready for them. Being able to still be useful while unarmored and unarmed is great, and a lot of your class abilities will give openings for your allies to fight.

Everything I say is a catchphrase! - You’re even useful outside of combat with strong people skills and Jack of All Trades rounding out your weak points.

CONS

How many of you am I dealing with? - Multiclassing with such a MAD class like Barbarian is bound to run into some problems. Along with a heavy investment in Feats both your Constitution and your Charisma are subpar as a Barbarian / Bard. You can put on some Medium armor as a Barb to compensate for the low CON mod (with the small downside of not being too in-character) but you’re still going to be lacking, and might need some Magic Items to compensate.

Runnin' wild - Multiclassing a Barbarian and a spellcaster is a very, very odd choice. You can’t cast spells while Raging and while you can still use your Bardic Inspiration and Mantle of Inspiration they’re rather limited and there are likely better options.

I told ya it ain't real! Go home, kid - Every time I make a grapple build I have to say the same thing: grappling in 5th Edition is largely a joke and unless you have a DM who’s willing to increase the potency of grappling it might be better just to ditch the grabs for more raw damage.

But the hero of the Canopy Kingdom can do more than just throw people around. You’re 287 pounds of something and you’d better use that something to beat a whole family of Gigans. Throw down and get the crowd hyped, and never throw in the towel. Just make sure your manager is scheduling good fights for you: don’t want to do anything insane.

This is very general question that could lead to a super long answer so you don't have to reply to it. But I was wondering what is your absolute favorite moments between fitz and harry? Whether it's written or you just had it in your head all this time. And then what's your favorite moment between harry and each of his children?

Harry and Fitz: I wrote about a million words of Harry and Fitz’s story and adored every minute of it, so I can’t pick just one or even a few! I would have to go through every individual work and select a favourite part and that’s just crazy. From AB alone, I’ll say Valentine’s day/Harry’s father’s wedding (the ceremony and reception). 

Harry and Dex: Any of their man-to-man talks, really, but a few nights before Sascha is born when Dex breaks down and Harry comforts him probably takes the cake. I also wrote a one-off scene when Dex is in his teens and Harry has a bit of a sex talk with him that I ended up really enjoying. Also in the final “7 days of Christmas” drabble in which Dex asks Harry to drive him to a friend’s party. Their father-son banter was always so much fun to write. 

Harry and Isaac: A scene from “Paper Knees” in which Harry leaves the funeral parlour to go to the bathroom and when he comes back, he sees Isaac sitting all alone and very still on the chair outside of the parlour. Isaac feels very sad and lonely and it’s his first time dealing with a real human death of someone in his family, so it’s got him thinking about the mortality of his parents and his brother and sister and he’s scared and sad and needs some non-aggressive comfort from his dad. 

Harry and Sascha: The moment she was born! Harry got to hold her in his arms for the first time and wept.

How to put a finger on Tygo-Joël Dex De Vries? Well, you couldn’t, really. Tygo-Joël, or sometims TJ, for short, what almost something of an enigma. There were no cliches or stereotypes about him. He had the intelligence to attend a top school, the soccer skills to carry him on a scholarship to a top-league team, and the subdued nature of an artist that could hang his work in homes across the globe. But he didn’t have the motivation of a know-it-all, the typical meathead personality of a jock, or the style or attitude of an artist. He managed to fit perfectly into multiple cliques, and simultaneously not fit into any of them, either.

He was the first to come along, followed in 1995 by his brother Levi-Milan. It was only a year later that Tess and Justin split, on not-so-fantastic terms. Justin worked in Amsterdam for a year, before relocating to Los Angeles following a job offer, and Tess soon met Issac, and their family grew, with his half-sister being born in 2000, and his half-brother joining them in 2003. Each addition to their family took up an extra room in their home, and by the time Elmo came along, their 5 bedroom townhouse facing the Singel, previously empty and quiet, was bustling with life. But that was fine for Tygo, the less attention there was on him, the better.

But of course, Tygo was the test child, who barely got away with anything while Justin and Tess figured out what on earth they were doing, trying to raise their first child. Between that, and how excessive Tess could be, keeping himself in the background was far easier said that done. Everything always had to be over the top, which is why most old photographs of TJ feature him in something only the children of celebrities would wear. Their home was excessive, much larger than necessary, overfilled with decor and furniture to make it look less like a house and more like a home.

And Tygo’s life was excessive. While Justin may not have been the most handsome man around, Tess was utterly beautiful, and her beauty was something that Tygo inherited. The same light hair that turned a dirty blond colour come the summer months, and the same grunge-toned green/blue eye colour too. Throughout his childhood, Tess was always told how her son, then young and naive, should be a model. Unfortunately, Tess was far too literal of a person, which was how TJ ended up being a child model.

It was nothing much at first, little catalogue shoots, but catalogue shoots became modelling clothes for designer company’s ‘kids wear’ after his face appearing in magazines got him noticed. Tess loved it, loved that her little boy was becoming famous because of whatever genes he was blessed with. But TJ didn’t enjoy modelling one little bit. Why would he want to stand in front of a camera, when he could be reading, learning, painting? At 5 years old, he knew that modelling was one thing he didn’t want to pursue. Or do, at all, really.

No, his interests lay, at that age, in the world of Art. Of course, at the mere age of 5 years old, he wasn’t particularly educated. He didn’t know of technique, or of many famous painters, but he loved art. He loved the art Amsterdam had to offer, and loved making art of his own. Not that, at his age, his art was anything special, or anything in particular, but in the future, there would be signs of promise— as after all, practice does make perfect.

At the age of 6, only 7 months following the birth of his brother, Levi-Milan, his parents came to the decision to break up. He wasn’t oblivious, at that age, not to what was going on around him. He heard the quiet arguments, and he saw the tension between Justin and Tess in the mornings, and he was far too aware of his parents unhappiness to be particularly upset or confused when they explained to him that Justin would be moving out, and Mamma and Pa wouldn’t be together anymore. They had expected questions, maybe tears or upset, but TJ would merely nod and say ‘oke’, in his quiet manor.

3 years passed, and it was just him, Tess, and Levi. Justin headed across to America to follow a new career prospect, and though he got birthday cards and Christmas money, TJ barely spoke to his Father, and as far as he knew, Levi had no contact with him at all. Despite the families new addition, Tess still focused on TJ far too much. At 8 years old, he was adamant that he was no longer interested in modelling, despite his Mother pleading him to keep it up, and the offers coming in from agencies and companies that wanted to work with him. He would much rather be focusing on his school work, or whatever new project he’d began. Older now, the paintings he created were beyond what the average 8 year old could do. And so what could Tess do? She found something new to latch on to.

She was becoming image obsessed, and so her new line had become “in light of his early academic success, we’ve decided now is the time to focus on his academics rather than a modelling career”. TJ would usually, merely duck his head to hide his smirk while hugging books or folders to his chest. When he wouldn’t interact with his Mother’s friends, they were quick to leave him be and begin talking about him, rather than to him. He was perfectly okay with that, too. If he was going to be talked about, he would prefer he was left out of it. Let people say what they will, he didn’t have time to care about what everyone thought.

Tess met Issac in 1999, but Tygo didn’t meet him until early 2000. Tess and Issac had been casually dating, but casually dating became a lot more, very quickly, when 5 months into their ‘relationship’, Tess discovered she was 3 months pregnant. But Issac was more traditional over the casual that Justin had been, and so they were married 3 months later, Tess sporting a small bump in their wedding pictures. And in another 3 months, his baby sister, Lotte, was born. In a short space of time, TJ had gotten a step-dad, and a sibling, and their home filled up that little bit more.

Between the birth of Lotte and the conception of Elmo, the attention on TJ eased to some extent. Tess still pushed, but Tygo was becoming more independent that he already was. Whenever someone would come over to see if he wanted to go out and play, he’d always decline, with the preference of having his nose buried in a book, reading up and learning about something new that had perked his interest. Sometimes, Issac would encourage him to go out, and Tess would complain when he’s come home, his crisp white button-down creased, the hem of his chalk black trousers splattered with mud, glasses sliding down his sweaty nose. And then Isaac would insist on how it was good for Tygo to get out and do ‘boy stuff’, and Tess would argue that there was nothing wrong with reading and learning a lot, and Issac would point out that it was unhealthy to spend all day shut away with nothing but the fumes of paint keeping him going, and Tygo would slip upstairs, change into something comfy for bed, and fall asleep with his reading light on.

Then Elmo came along, too. Tygo was 12 now, attending a pre-university high school in the city, and a shining student in his year. He excelled in most areas, was encouraged to try out for the school’s soccer team after he showed promise in physical education lessons, and was well known in the art department.

That was his life through school. Learning, painting, learning, soccer practise, homework, studying, minimal socialising, painting, sleep, and repeat. He had people from different cliques trying to associate with him, trying to fit him into a group like they did with everyone, but you couldn’t, not with Tygo. He didn’t like how loud, obnoxious, and attention-demanding the other guys on the soccer team were, and even though he was the captain of the team by the age of 16, he certainly wouldn’t bother spending time with them when he didn’t need to. He didn’t like how quiet and obsessive his fellow artists were— while sure, he loved art, he liked to talk about all kinds of things, rather than being limited to art, and nothing but art. They were the philosophical stoners who he could debate with all day, the science nerds who he could discuss the latest going-ons around the world with, the musicians who he could talk about up and coming bands with. But he would never fit into one sole group.

By the age of 17, there were three, new things, that he enjoyed. Of course, he still read a lot, he still painted, still pondered life and beyond it, but he also loved marijuana, he loved cameras, and what he could do with them, and he loved sex. Living in Amsterdam, it had only been a matter of time before he discovered what the wonders of weed could do for him, and he made no effort to hide it when it became a habit, despite his siblings questions about the smell in his room and how his eyes were red.

17 was also the age he discovered his sexuality, or lack thereof. Tygo was the type of person who hated the existence of labels. He wasn’t one thing or another. He was attracted to someone, or he wasn’t, and it was that simple. He was older than his years, and his nature made him a mystery that drew people in. But this wasn’t attention like what he’d been made accustomed to in his early life. This was attention for who he was rather than what he did. Being intimate with another person was attention on a more grounded level, and every moment he spent with a new partner was well spent. So life changed a bit. It was school, painting, school, homework, studying, painting, more socialising, with happy endings.

As soon as he finished school at 18 years old, he left home. He didn’t go far, simply went from a busy, claustrophobic townhouse, to a one bedroom apartment further towards the center of the city. It was minimalist and modern, empty looking compared to his family home, but he preferred it to his busy home.

Things didn’t necessarily go downhill, per say, but they could have worked out better. The problem was, Tygo had never quite figured out which direction his life was heading in. He was sure he wasn’t interested in modelling, and he didn’t fancy a career in art or soccer. His Mother wished for him to go to University, but Tygo was against it. Going to University was what you did when you had your life figured out, which Tygo didn’t.

And so, his life became a cycle of the same old, painting, reading, smoking, sex, sometimes in that exact order. There were jobs thrown into the mix, jobs that varied from bars and pubs, to small time dealer, to waiter, to receptionist. Nothing that stuck. Throughout the years, he sold paintings online, and ventured into the world of photography too, going on random trips with his camera and selling pictures of wherever he went.

Tess couldn’t bear to sit back and watch Tygo do absolutely nothing with his life. He was content, sitting at the window watching the canal, and the people passing with a spliff between his lips, and a both in his hand, or perhaps a paintbrush that he didn’t know what to do with, or his laptop and random notebooks that all came together to resemble something, in the form of an article, an entry, or a short story. Everything could be something, and he could do nothing, and it not matter, because nothing had to be relevant. Life just had to be. Tess didn’t see the world like he did.

So she contacted Justin, who couldn’t understand her desperation to throw their 26 year old into the American life, to begin becoming something better than what she described at a ‘useless pothead stuck in perpetual teenhood’. That, of course, was a bit of an exaggeration, but Tygo doing nothing relevant wasn’t good enough for her.

So she told him that Justin had a job for him, and while it was just working on the Lights Crew at the same studio as his Father, Tess begged him to take it, and to start making something of himself. He said no, the first time she asked, and the second, and the third. But by the fourth time she asked, he relented, and gave up. At the very least, Lights Crew meant under-the-radar, meaning he could still stand back in the shadows and do his thing. Just because he was doing as his Mother wished, didn’t mean he needed to make anything of the opportunity. A job was a job, just like before, and the only thing he intended on changing was his location. So, he packed up and sold his apartment, renting a new one bedroom place in West Hollywood.

Moving to Los Angeles, he didn’t anticipate immediately being thrown into a new family. Justin was with someone new, Camila Harper, who also had two children from a previous relationship. Of course, TJ hadn’t spoken with his Father in years, but it had never occurred to him that Justin had a new life, and so the decision to relocate had caused him more hassle than he bargained for.

Tygo has shaggy-ish hair, much like Jughead in Riverdale, but without the hat. His hair is a dirty blond, but looks lighter/more so when it’s sunny and often looks messy/slightly unkempt. He is supposed to wear glasses all of the time, but doesn’t. He wears them most days, but some days he’ll opt for contacts, or not both with either if he’s feeling lazy. His style is very much 2016/17 hipster, with jeans rolled up at the ankles and wingtip or trench boots, doc martens or vans, and button-up shirts or sweatshirts.

r/unresolvedmysteries (a real reddit btw and a great one): has occasional posts about missing people devolve into discussions over whether or not they were kidnapped by WRU/turned into a pet. They talk about Isaac Thompson’s cold case a LOT. The last thing anyone heard from him was that he was going to sign up for some kind of anxiety support group. Everyone thinks Isaac jumped off a bridge. He’d just had a terrible fight with his boyfriend, who was threatening to kick him out if he didn’t get help, his family was very disapproving of his sexuality, it just makes sense. IT’s what the cops have always said probably happened. But some redditors have noticed that WRU’s Client Success Director is occasionally seen with a man who looks very much like him - and @spiffythespook the Farling Flayer has been seen with what looks very much like a similar or identical man, too. There are arguments. People have been banned for getting too worked up about this.

People the r/unresolvedmysteries group thinks might have been abducted:

1. Daniel Brennan, (@moose-teeth) a cop who went missing and who, weirdly, other cops seem totally unconcerned with finding

2. Isaac Thompson, presumed dead, but photo evidence suggests otherwise

3. Logan Marks - 16 years old when he disappeared walking home from soccer practice, has never been seen since, not even in photographs. Family insists he is not dead, even years later. While Karen tells Peter he isn’t allowed to leave the house without an escort/permission because he isn’t good enough, the real reason is that his family has stubbornly refused to allow him to be declared legally dead and remains convinced he’s still alive. 

The description of a van seen in the area matches the description of what is believed to be a WRU van, hence concern in the reddit that he may have been abducted.

Pet lib groups run several reddits, and Nine is very active on all of them, constantly trying to utilize resources to track down what happened to Eli after he was recaptured. He doesn’t know what Eli’s original name was - by the time they met, they had both forgotten whoever they were before. He doesn’t know if there’s a missing persons suggestion out, or if Eli actually did sign up willingly. He doesn’t know - he just knows that you can’t trust what WRU tells you.

He is on all the reddits and message boards, desperately hoping he’ll find Eli’s photo, or some detail he recognizes.

For the record, Nine thinks Isaac Thompson is Karen’s older Box Boy, Dex. He saw the guy in WRU once or twice, and the man he met looks so much like the old photos he’s found. But he can’t prove it, and it’s just a hunch.
