Thank you so much for the ask! 💜 I love any excuse to talk about Daisy Johnson.

First impression: I'm trying to squeeze my brain here, but all I remember was trying not to like her at first because I knew se was a double agent for the Rising Tide. It goes without saying I failed miserably about three episodes in.

Impression now: She is my favourite character of all time.

Favorite moment: I really can't choose, but one that comes to mind was the final fight of season 5. I think it's a very underrated fight scene, because it's the end of the world, her dad is dying, she has been recently betrayed and tortured by her friend, and she still goes into battle BY HERSELF against Talbot, and if that wasn't bad enough, when she's about to die a horrible death she realises that the only way she can save the world is if she takes the serum and basically condemns the person she loves most to his death. It's so heartbreaking and poetic, but very cool to watch, and I just love so much it, idk.

Idea for a story: This is angsty but I would love to read something where the events of 5.14 are properly dealt with. May watches the security cameras and goes ballistic on Fitz, and Daisy gets time to grieve and heal. They get Coulson back and he's horrified, and Jemma is so conflicted but she's there for her best friend.

Unpopular opinion: Since apparently I can't stop thinking about season 5, here's some more. I think she actually did a good job of leading the team in season 5b. Especially if you consider that she's been recently tortured, her family doesn't seem to care, she has no experience, and hasn't gotten a good nights sleep in about 5 years. She might be tough, but hello? IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD?? You have to be at least a little bossy if you wanna make it through that. Also if you're gonna be a baby and call her a hard ass maybe you should have thought twice before joining SHIELD.

Favorite relationship: If it's romantic, then Sousa. I love them so so much, they're literally perfect and despite my obvious outrage at season 5, I will forever love the AoS writers for somehow pulling that off. As for platonic relationships, I'd say May. She's the perfect mother figure for her, and I love the parallels between them. I think Daisy has the best relationships in general, but this one is my favourite. Honourable mentions go to Coulson for being the most unhinged dad ever, and to Jemma for being the sweetest friend in the earlier seasons.

Favorite headcanon: before she goes off to space at the end of season 7, she rebuilds Afterlife with the help of Sousa and Kora. I've said this before, but I think they are actually the perfect team to do this. Kora has lived in Afterlife her whole life, she's seen Jiaying help people go through Terrigenesis, and she's been though it herself in a much healthier and safer environment than Daisy. Sousa is reasonable and calm, which are good qualities to have when you're helping someone who's terrified and potentially dangerous. He has experience leading people, which I think would make him a good mentor for the Inhumans. So Kora has the experience, Sousa has the qualities, and in my opinion, Daisy has a nice combination of the two. She has a different and much more horrifying experience of Terrigenesis that people who accidentally go though it can relate to, and she has spent years exploring and controlling her powers, so she knows what the deal is. And she's also a good leader, so where Sousa can help the Inhumans pre-Terrigenesis, she can train them after if that's what they want. Because that's another thing, SHIELD may be funding Afterlife, but they've learnt their lesson and they're not sticking their noses where they shouldn't. They accept new recruits and help train them, but if that's not what the Inhumans want, then SHIELD helps them get settled back into their normal lives. Anyways this got long but it's one of my favourite headcanons, so there you go.

There is no one who was right and no one was wrong in 5x14. No one acted well in this episode.

Fitz knew Daisy would refuse to have her inhibitor removed. Which took all the pressure off Daisy and put it on Fitz’s shoulders with no way to prevent what he thought was the end of the world. Daisy hid from responsibility and Fitz broke because she took away the only option he had as he was trying to save people. Which is why he didn’t regret what he did, only the way it went down.

Fitz took away all of Daisy’s agency. He put her in an impossible situation. Daisy didn’t know how her powers would destroy the world. She couldn’t prepare for an event that she didn’t know when or how it happened. She couldn’t make sure she didn’t make the same mistakes. The inhibitor gave her a way to stop the end of the world without knowing how it would come about. It gave her the peace of mind to keep moving forward. Fitz took some of the pressure off his shoulders and put it back on Daisy’s. He made her a monster and she hated him for it.

Another thing is I feel like something a lot of people get wrong is why Daisy is upset. So many fics focus on how Daisy is terrified of Fitz and can barely get past the trauma of what he did to her. Even people who like Fitz think that this is her issue. But even when Daisy is tied down and thinks she’s about to be dissected alive she isn’t that afraid. It isn’t until Fitz mentions giving her powers back that she starts panicking. That is what terrifies her.

When Daisy says she will never forgive Fitz, it’s because he’s giving her powers back. Daisy truly believes that she will cause the end of the world and in her mind Fitz has just made her responsible for the death of billions. That’s not to say that being operated on without anesthesia by one of her best friends isn’t traumatic but it’s also not the worst thing that’s ever happened to her. It’s not going to be the thing she can never move on from and the only thing she will ever see for her the rest of her life when she sees Fitz.

Of course afterwards Daisy is angry. She’s angry about being operated without her consent but mostly because she’s going to end the world. And why would she trust Fitz? As far as she’s concerned he just took away the only defense the world had. How does she know he won’t make another decision in trying to “save” the world that will only hasten its destruction? And she knows better than anyone that he is mentally unstable. Daisy is the only one who saw Fitz actually arguing with someone who wasn’t there. Which is another knock against him in the trust department. Despite the knowledge of his instability it is Fitz who is fully himself (although how clearheaded can he be after going through a psychic split?) and when he starts removing the device she feels she can’t forgive him for making her the Destroyer of Worlds.

And Fitz is angry because he did what he had to. He saved lives and now has no interest in hurting anyone else. Now he just wants the chance to save the world and they don’t have time for Daisy to be upset. He needs her to listen so that he can help her prevent whatever causes her to end the world. But he’s treated like a criminal. And even if he feels like he did something unforgivable, he knows they just don’t have time for this.

Both of them put the other into a position where they were responsible for too much, for too many lives. Both of them decisions that hurt the other in trying to deal with that pressure. They both broke under the pressure, just in different ways.

After losing Fitz and Coulson. After being reminded of how terribly everyone was acting, including herself, Daisy could step back and see why Fitz made the decisions he did, even if she was still angry and justified in being so. But she was able to see past that to remember the friend Fitz was. It makes perfect sense to me how in that year she let go of her anger. Learned to move on. Learned to put his actions into perspective. Plus cryo Fitz wasn’t the one who hurt her. He had the potential if placed in a terrible no win scenario again but they knew about his troubles and could help to prevent something like that happening again.

Arghg I love your au!

I was wondering how public the knowledge Alastor’s and Lucifer’s relationship would go?

In other posts the other hotel residents find out but I’d imagine Alastor wouldn’t want this to get out as it might not be good for his image (and not wanting someone like Vox finding out). But I also can’t imagine Charlie or Lucifer (or really any of the residents) being all that discreet.

With Lucifer now a permanent fixture at the hotel and Charlie becoming increasingly involved in the destabilization of Heaven's foundation, the secret does have an expiration date. Particularly once Lucifer himself learns Alastor's his son. I don't think that any of the hotel residents would go spilling it, since they're a pretty tight knit group. So far, only Angel Dust is really shown to have a social life outside of the hotel, and I think he of all people knows how important it is to keep a tight lid on certain family secrets, given he was a gay man in a mafia family in the 40s. Frank might, but he says insane shit all the time. Possibly Adam if he returns as a sinner, and if Vaggie doesn't punch his teeth into the back of his throat first.

I imagine his guilt over not being there for Alastor when he was a kid, the revelation that Alastor nearly died fighting Adam, and Alastor's lingering wound and broken staff would lead Lucifer to be a tad protective. Alastor, on the other hand, would prefer to go about his normal routine as though nothing's changed. Vox is very actively trying to tear down his reputation, so it's more important than ever that Alastor show his face in public so everyone knows he's as strong and dangerous as ever. Lucifer's hovering doesn't help with that. With cocky sinners trying to take their shot, and the Vees scheming, Lucifer only clings tighter, and Alastor fights harder to prove he's unaffected.

I can see either Vox finding out the truth through his stalking, or by making some overt move against Alastor that forces Lucifer to step in to protect him. Either way, once Vox knows, it's only a matter of time before the rest of the Pride Ring does. And the public blows up over it.

Alastor's famous for being the only mortal soul to manifest in hell with such incredible power. Only, he's not a mortal soul after all! He's a royal bastard masquerading as one. No wonder he's helping out at Charlie's stupid hotel. Obviously he has a soft side towards his sister! Suddenly he's not the Radio Demon anymore. He's just the Devil's Bastard.

The carefully cultivated reputation Alastor has built suffers a heavy blow. Although Lucifer is undoubtedly the most powerful being in Hell, the sinners don't have much respect for him as a ruler. They don't so much fear his power as the idea of it, since he hasn't really done much with it in his time as King of Hell. There's no real prestige to be gained from the relation. Plus, a very large part of Alastor's power came from the mystique behind his rise. The reason was so feared was because nobody knew how he was as powerful as he was, and now that there's an explanation, he loses that. Needless to say, he's not holding up so well when the truth comes out to the public. (Cue another dramatic musical monologue.)

Knowing what jerks the people of Hell are, you can imagine the field day the news would have. Lucifer gets ripped apart by Katie Killjoy for being a no-good husband on top of being a no-good king, people are questioning whether Alastor's really as fearsome as he pretends to be, and the Vees are trying to find a way to spin this to their advantage. Lucifer's panicking - it's not like he was embarrassed of Alastor or so he says, but he wanted to be the one to tell Lilith, not have it get back to her like this - and Alastor feels like he's being strangled - by his deal, by the public response, by Charlie and Lucifer. He needs to do something to fix this, but the situation is spiraling ever out of his control.

AU in which Jiaying watches over Daisy from the afterlife, and when she sees what happens in The Devil Complex she returns to the world of the living through sheer power of How-Dare-You-Do-This-To-My-Daughter-You-Whimpy-Little-Bitch.

Daisy is confused, everyone else is panicking, and Jiaying has to work through her genocidal urges if she wants to stick around (which she does. because despite everything that happened, she does love Daisy)

After the news that came following the 2024 Election results, I made this as a means to vent.
