Hate to burst your bubble here Carter, but actually no you’re not going to arrest him. Now I won’t spoil anything else for you. But I will tell you that.

Every killer I locked up thought they had a good reason. And that is how this ends. Sooner or later, I’ll lock you up. Or find you bleeding out somewhere.

Just a gift - a Person of Interest fanfiction for the Femslash Gotcha 4 Gaza.
Root/Shaw/Carter Pre-relationship, surprise date, lots of sapphic joy. Set more or less in the first half of season 3.

"Joss... We made it."
Person of Interest (2011-2016), 4x20: Terra Incognita
I just love this so much. The episode was about how John shut out everyone. Even Sameen and Root. Even Harold. Even Carter. And of course Lionel.
And now John is alone. He wanted to stay alone with Carter for one last time, which in the end left him alone with a killer, a deadly wound, and the cold, ruthless night. Even if the others were worried, they had no means to find him. And he knows this.
Except that Lionel is coming. Lionel, the dirty cop, the idiot, the butt of every joke. Lionel, who has proved time after time that he is reliable, but who still hasn't earned his yellow bracket. Lionel, the Detective, who knows John well enough to find him, even if he made it as hard as possible, and who cares enough to go after him. Lionel is the one who shows up.
And somehow I am again reminded of my favourite line of every line I have ever read.
“And now, all these years later, it seemed to him that the most horrible fact of human existence was that broken hearts mended.”
(Stephen King: Wizard and Glass - The Dark Tower #4)
It is so heartbreaking to watch John struggle with all his loss. Lost time, lost people, lost hope. And here he is, on the brink of death. Full of regret and pain, resigned to die. He cannot do anything but wait: wait for the morning, wait to see who shows up first: a friend, or Death. And against all odds, it is not Death. Which means he is not alone. He gets to live one more day, gets another chance at life. And I can only desperately hope he will take it.

Joss Carter deserved better.
Her death is one of the few things I really dislike about the show.
I wish she would have been able to see it all through to the end. Ride into the sunset with Taylor and become the Private Detective she was always meant to be

Buffy Summers vs. Jocelyn "Joss" Carter
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Remember: don't vote on "who would win in a fight", but on "who, when given a task that fits her skillset and talents, would do that task better: more comprehensively, faster, with more pizzazz, with less collateral, etc."
Endorsements! "What is she good at?"
Buffy Summers, Buffy the Vampire Slayer: She's a highly competent fighter and leader
Jocelyn "Joss" Carter, Person of Interest: An excellent detective and probably the only truly good cop ever. She cares about helping people and refuses to use her power as a cop to take advantage of others. Her ideas of good and bad are clear, but over the course of the show she learns where to be flexible in order to do the right thing for people who need her help.

I’m rewatching poi and still not over carter. ik root and shaw got all the hype but joss deserved so much better. what r your thoughts on the characters?
dude I have spent the last month going THROUGH IT over joss/reese. I'm a sucker for detective/criminal* dynamics so they really got me and gutted me. romance aside carter just had so much heart you could feel the void she left in the story right up til the end. root and shaw were loads of fun, but I'm shocked there wasn't more done with them especially considering how much time they had to work with. could've been deeper. my favourite characters are the machine (maeve millay westworld blueprint!!!!! jonathan nolan hates me!!!!!!) and harold (oppenheimer if he slayed)

more Person Of Interest animal doodles, this time: team NYPD! I was really tempted to make Fusco a fuzzy pig, but pigs are fecking huge so I felt like a scruffy dog was a good second choice. Carter’s supposed to be a pibble mix but I don’t think I conveyed that very well.
I looked up NYPD K9 units hoping they had some kinda cool harness, but nope, just a lil shield and chain.
