luke fumbling in recruiting percy has to be one of his greatest failures. a beautiful thing the show does regarding luke and percy's relationship is building rapport between them through shared moments like settling into camp, eating meals together, but especially through swordfighting lessons. the swordfighting scene at the beginning of episode 8 not only reveals that percy and luke already share similar beliefs about the fear-based system the gods have cultivated, but it's clear the conversation stays with percy when he fights ares and later calls out zeus on his waning skills as a father and a king. however, luke's plan fell through the moment percy learned that the winged-shoes were meant to drag him to tartarus. not only that, but the shoes nearly killed grover, a friend percy cared for deeply. if nourishing loyalty and trust was the key to ensuring a partnership with percy, then it was luke's faulty planning, arrogance, and impatience that cost him the greatest ally he could ask for.

Okay okay listen. I just went to a coffee shop and got a hot chocolate because I don't drink tea or coffee so my options are pretty much just hot chocolate. And I was watching the barista make it and he was putting so much care and effort into it which is something you NEVER get for hot chocolates. Baristas in my experience usually just plonk in some powder mix with frothy milk and call it a day, but not this dude. He was making sure to coat the inside of the cup meticulously with chocolate syrup and even made a nice little design with the milk which, as a hot chocolate connoisseur, is so rare. And it's not like I was the only person there, there was a line. So then he hands it to me and says this is going to be the best hot chocolate I've ever had. And he was right. So I told him this and he fist pumped before saying to "Ha, I knew it!" and it's like. Am I in love. Is this a coffee shop AU finally come to life. What just happened here

aaravos having the same arrogance he hated in the first elves who were so convinced that any variance from destiny / the cosmic order was worth executing a child in cold blood for, because aaravos is likewise crafting and enforcing destinies over other people, which is why killing his and viren's child is okay, because sir sparklepuff was made to die; his destiny was already written.

just finished hitmen for destiny and it was really good (and also extremely violent and gory so uhh watch out). never let 'not being good at drawing' stop you from making your magnum opus

i've been thinking about that scene in ep 3 when annabeth apologizes to percy before pushing him into the lake. and on the surface, it seems like she's apologizing in advance for her actions. but what if she's actually expressing sympathy toward percy for how his life will change once his father claims him? once he has to suffer through the same torment as thalia did? once he becomes the outcast amongst the group of demigods who understand his struggles but will do little to help him through it?
