The irony of calling a pokemon set “Destined Rivals” while only having a Gold/Ethan card and NOT a silver card is igniting every bone in my body SILVER TEMPEST BUT THERES NO SILVER. The 10th Scarlet & Violet set has just been announced, and Team Rocket are blasting back onto the TCG scene in Destined Rivals! Releasing on the 30th of May, this set will be comprised of Japan's Hot Air Arena and The Glory of Team Rocket. This set was teased at Latin America's Gamescom event, which showed the Brazilian Portuguese logo and a selection of artwork.

As per any core set from Pokemon, we can expect the works - Booster boxes, Elite Trainer Boxes, Checklanes, 3-Pack Blisters and more. We also expect this set to be incredibly popular, especially as we're close to closing out the Scarlet & Violet era for the TCG to usher in Pokemon Legends Z-A and the return of Mega Pokemon.

We know that Destined Rivals is going to include Cynthia's Garchomp, Ethan's Ho-Oh, Giovanni's MewTwo and a selection of Team Rocket Executives and Grunts from the artwork, and can get an idea of what cards to expect with the trickling reveals from the two Japanese counterpart sets. Furthermore, we're likely to see cards included from the Japanese Marnie & Steven decks (despite them also releasing in English Language!)

The set description is as follows:

Pokémon Trainers, be on high alert! The nefarious Team Rocket is setting its latest plan into motion, and heroic Trainers are racing to stop it. Join forces with the likes of Cynthia and Garchomp ex, Ethan and Ho-Oh ex, or Arven and Mabosstiff ex… Or reconsider your loyalties and fight alongside Team Rocket’s Pokémon like Mewtwo ex—under the command of Giovanni! Choose a side, assemble your allies, and battle boldly in the Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Destined Rivals expansion!

Yeah, so apparently the Pokémon Center websites CRASHED last night because they dropped the Destined Rivals TCG set and the TCG part of the fandom descended upon them like the fucking anchovies from that one Spongebob episode

Now, this might just be because Mewtwo is my favorite Pokémon, but I feel that this new set is kinda....not great given Mewtwo and Giovanni's history?

Crazy how much im beefing with a pokemon tcg set rn

Reverse Sonic Prime AU where instead of Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Rouge, and Big getting shattered across dimensions it’s Sonic and Shadow who get shattered and each one is separated into a different dimension (Tails -> New Yoke City, Amy -> Boscage Maze, Knuckles -> No Place, Rouge -> The Void, Big -> either The Grim or Ghost Hill idk)

Is this mainly cuz I wanna see silly alternate versions of Shadow & Sonic and how their constant rivalry will differ in every dimension based on the role they play in it?? Yeah but I can also see a genuinely neat story come out of this with Tails, Amy, Knuckles, and Rouge taking the focal point in trying to fix everything together while having to deal with alternate versions of Sonic & Shadow either helping, inconveniencing, or straight up getting directly in their way and being very antagonistic similar to Nine, Thorn, or Captain Dread

Would Tails get too attached to whatever alternate Sonic he meets in New Yoke?? Would Amy realize that whatever alternate Sonic & Shadow are beefing about in the Boscage Maze isn’t worth resolving and leaving to deal with the actual problem of the shattered multiverse would be the “right choice”?? Would that actually be the right choice or would it cause problems later?? How would Knuckles deal with the confusing pirate world of No Place?? How would Rouge deal with being stuck in The Void, only able to watch everything unless they leave the dimensions?? How would the Paradox Prism plot work???? Would they (Tails, Amy, & Knuckles) swap dimensions every time one of them touched a shard or would all of them need to touch a shard at the same time to swap??

It could just be the fact that it’s nearly 5am and I haven’t slept at all but I honestly wanna finish watching Sonic Prime just so I can make AUs based on it (I haven’t seen anything past the S2 finale and tbh I’ve forgotten most of it)

i’m so kagehina coded that whenever i think of soulmates i think of them…because what else possibly explains their relationship?? from that game in middle school, to meeting again at karasuno?? that fateful meeting at karasuno changed their LIVES!! they became better players, better people, and finally found someone to call a PARTNER all because THEY FOUND EACH OTHER AGAIN! during timeskip, it didn't matter that they were on opposite sides of the world because THEY WERE CONNECTED!! they were destined to stay together forever! i can just imagine them as old grandpas playing volleyball like they were first years again…
