In the shadowy recesses of the Land of the Black Sands, Mozenrath, at just fifteen, stood poised on the precipice of a transformation that would reshape the very fabric of his destiny. Mozenrath had grown under his master’s tutelage, mastering dark sorcery with an intensity that set him apart from the other apprentices. He had studied the ancient tomes, deciphered the runes, and perfected forbidden incantations that beat in time with his own ambition. In the flickering candlelight of Destane’s chamber, resentment twisted into a plan.

“Your reign of terror is over, old man,” Mozenrath spat, not with the voice of a child, but with the furious conviction of a storm.

Destane, seated upon his ornate throne that cracked like the surface of a marred jewel, regarded Mozenrath with an amused scowl. “How childish,” he sneered. “You think you can challenge me? You are nothing but a whelp. What have you learned? How to prattle and preen?”

With a gesture that crackled through the air like heat lightning, Mozenrath invoked the enchantments that danced on the edges of his fingertips. Shadows coalesced, swirling and dark, as he stepped forward, fueled by years of torture and a burning thirst for freedom.

The gauntlet—Destane’s one prized possession—gleamed ominously on the wielder’s hand. It was rumored to grant immense power to its wearer, a cruel instrument in the hands of a cruel man. But Mozenrath was clever; he had spent years observing, learning what made his master vulnerable. Distraction; it was the soul of every successful deception.

With a swift incantation, he created an illusion of himself—an ethereal copy that shimmered like a mirage. While Destane was drawn in by the flickering figure, Mozenrath darted toward the gauntlet, grabbing it with a lightning swipe. The moment the enchanted metal slipped onto his hand, power surged through him like wildfire, filling every corner of his soul with dark ecstasy.

“Fool!” Destane roared, realization dawning. His eyes widened, filled with rage and disbelief as he turned to confront the real Mozenrath. But his fury transformed into desperation as the apprentice wielded the gauntlet’s magic for the first time. The air electrified, writhing with energy as Mozenrath concentrated, cascading tendrils of shadow that lashed out like whips of night.

“Every lesson you taught me,” Mozenrath laughed bitterly, the gauntlet’s power amplifying his voice to echo through the chamber, reverberating like a death knell. “was ultimately to teach me how to be stronger than you!”

Destane fought back, summoning his own dark energies, but age had dulled his edge. The gauntlet glowed with an intensity that overwhelmed him. As the two collided, raw magic burst through the air like a storm unleashed. Shadows gathered, swirling in a furious cyclone around them. Mozenrath drew closer to victory. With a final, tremendous thrust of power, he felt the surge of energy explode forth. Destane staggered, his form cracking like ice under the heat of the gauntlet, and with a devastating incantation, Mozenrath unleashed a bolt of power from the gauntlet that struck Destane squarely in the chest. The moment was a stillness after the tempest—the palace echoed with the silence of inevitability. Destane gasped, his body crumpling under the weight of betrayal and the enormous force of abandonment. The echoes of his cries became whispers in the wind as blood sprayed across the floor, glistening darkly. It splattered onto Mozenrath’s face and robes, and for a moment, everything around him fell silent.

The chilled air hummed with the aftermath of violence, but there was no room for remorse. Mozenrath stood above his master, his heart pounding not from fear or hesitation, but triumph.

“After all,” he spoke to the silence, wiping the crimson from his cheek as it started to dry, “ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves.”

With each breath, a new dawn unfurled, untainted by the shadows of the past. Mozenrath was free, no longer held prisoner by fear. He had forged his freedom from shackles of the past, and though bloodied, he may have been painted in crimson, he felt reborn. With each pulse of the gauntlet against his skin, Mozenrath knew he was no longer a mere apprentice; he was a master of his own destiny, a tyrant in waiting, ready to embrace the throne that destiny had promised him. The sun began to set, casting an eerie glow across the desert, igniting shades of orange and red. Mozenrath turned his gaze toward the horizon, already formulating his next move, ready to conquer what lay beyond the shadows of his master’s demise. Freedom had a name, and that name was Mozenrath.

Hey, what are your thoughts about Cassim raising Mozenrath instead of Destane raising Mozenrath? Would Mozenrath still be a sorcerer? I know that he’ll still have both hands. Would Mozenrath have to still kill someone in order to be able to stay with Cassim among the Forty Thieves?

Hi, a difficult question for me actually, because there are SOOO many options!

I have a few options in this context.

Let's say that Mozе and Al have different mothers (I stick to this because of the boys' difference in appearance). In this case, we have Mozenrath as a child from the first marriage, as he is older, and Aladdin as a child from the second marriage. In that case, Сassim's second marriage happened most likely because of the death of his first wife, because I don't think that if they had just divorced, that woman would have left a child to Сassim. So, based on this, Сass marries a second time and has a son named Aladdin. I think it's a lot likely that little Mozenrath could have developed jealousy that the focus of attention has now shifted to the younger child, plus he could think that his mother has been "replaced" and that he has been "replaced". In this case, their relationship with Сassim could have begun to deteriorate while they were still children, leading to their estrangement from each other. Later, at some point, as is the canon, Сass would have left to find a living, leaving Al, his wife(Zena) and Moze behind, in which case no child-rearing would have occurred. If we take the option that Cassim does not disappear from their lives but continues to live with them and participate in the upbringing of the children, Mozenrath continues to be estranged, as we remember that he has resented his father since childhood.

If we consider the more optimistic scenario that Cassim and Mozenrath's relationship remains good even after Cassim's second marriage and the birth of Aladdin, then we have a chance to see a good relationship develop. But again, let's not forget that in the canon Cassim left the family at some point. In this case we have a problem with upbringing - Cassim just doesn't participate in it and meets Mozenrath and Aladdin only at Aladdin's wedding many years later (and, as in the third film, Mozenrath together with Aladdin gets into the cave of forty thieves, where they have to fight for the right to be part of the team, killing two thieves). If Cass decides not to go anywhere, because for some reason the family has enough money, then we get the most favourable option - Cassim participates in the upbringing of the children and acquires generally good relations with his sons.

So, summing up, we still have a chance of a good outcome of events, in which Cassim and Mozenrath have good relations, Moze is not a sorcerer and not a bad person with a traumatised psyche (but naturally with flaws, because everyone has them).

About whether Mozenrath can have magical powers in the case that he doesn't get to Destane - yes. Suppose in the scenario that his mother had them and he inherited it. But in that case, Mozenrath wouldn't be a necromancer, and his magical powers would be of a different sort than the ones we saw in the tv series, and besides, Mozenrath would be left with two healthy arms.

Ufff, sorry for so much text, I tried to mention EVERYTHING. What do you think about my opinion? What are your thoughts on your own question?

Things to note:

I'm only writing down the major OCs that I came up with thus far and have at least some impact on the story. No minor characters.

I'm keeping off some of the super spoilery ones off of here. Like who the final boss is.

If you have read any of my stories, you know that I changed up a lot of the worldbuilding. If you are wondering why I'm bringing up random country names and having women working at the Monstro Lounge, that's why.

She is a sassy and bold former popular mean girl, who became humbled after her ex cheated on her with another girl, but still has a lot to learn in order to become a better and more balanced person. She’s also quite ambitious, analytical and a quick planner. On the flipside, she’s secretive, untrusting, too cautious, manipulative, super guarded, even to the point of hiding shit from loved ones, is “in her head” too much, over thinks things and has some huge himedere tendencies due to coming from a wealthy family. She's also, obviously, the MC.

She is an outgoing and bubbly gamer girl and mechanic, who is ride or die for those she cares about, and is Addie's first female friend after being isekaied to that world. Her biggest flaw is that she can be petty and vindictive, not always thinking things through. She also has some super scaled back yandere tendencies like possessiveness, pushiness and not liking to hear “no” as an answer.

He is the handsome and charming son of two famous actors. But despite this, he's a z list actor that only pop culture gurus like Cater know about. Even his stepbrother is more well known than him! Thanks to this, he is selfish, cruel, spiteful and will do anything to become a famous celebrity like them and out stage his one-sided rival—Vil Schönheit, except putting in much effort to earn it. One of his plans to do that is to date the mysterious beauty from across the pond that is starting to become more well known with VDC and her siren-like voice.

One of her teammates on the SDC team, who takes Ace's spot. On first glance, she’s a bitch. But once you get past abrasive and rougher this side of her, she is quite loving and is super ride or die for those she truly cares about. Her biggest weakness is that her ambition and lust for power can be so strong that it can override her common sense. She often makes stupid decisions, sometimes at a very heavy cost to herself. She’s a huge tsundere.

One of her teammates for SDC, who takes Rook's spot and goes to Enchanted Rose. She's an oddball, who will do anything for her close family and friends. She's also rather rambunctious, emotional, doesn't always think things through, has a thing for getting into trouble and has a hard time seeing other's perspectives. She is also close friends with Makoa, her adoptive brother, along with Jade, Floyd and Riel.

Deimos Durand

He's Thierry's (Rollo) right hand man and attendant at Noble Belle, who took the job without knowing what his boss was planning. Despite being rather attentive and doing his job well, he's not loyal to his boss, seeing him for the monster that he is, but is unsure about what to do about it. He's also both athletic and nerdy, being a pretty big gamer in his own right. He's rather witty and confident in himself.

Kouya Reynard

He’s a clever and quick witted fox beastman, who’s charismatic to the point that he can make you believe anything. He is very eloquent and is able to get himself out of any situation. He sometimes gets on Jamil’s bad side with his laid back and blasé nature. He’s impulsive, doesn’t always think things through, can be a bit of a lazy slacker and frequently pulls other’s into his problems.

He's Hina's adopted brother and works at the Monstro Lounge. Despite the two being adopted, they share an extremely close bond. He's rather mischievous and wild, getting up to a lot of trouble when he's around his friends, Floyd and Riel. However, it is unwise to judge him only by his appearance. He was sorted into Scarabia for a reason. He's rather cunning, devious, manipulative and is amazing under pressure.

Emilia Khaled Al-Noury

She’s a mischievous, laid back and outgoing girl, who likes to have a good time and the life of the party. She’s smart and cunning, but sometimes things can blow up in her face due to her getting in over her head and not thinking through the consequences or just her putting her foot in her mouth. She's also Jamil's best friend and ex along with Adriana's online friend, but she has no idea. Despite being inspired by two birds, she's completely human.

He’s the life of the party, who loves to have fun and tries to share that joy with others. Unlike Kalim, he has a bit of a sick and twisted sense of humour. However, he easily gets wrapped up in things and is a bit oblivious, so much that he can hurt others dear to him in the process.

She's the crown princess of the Scalding Sands, and is forced to marry her cousin, Kalim, despite wanting to make that choice for herself. She is compassionate, outspoken, feisty and sharp-tongued, having a strong sense of adventure and longing for freedom. However, she's also rather sheltered and naive, reckless, stubborn, proud and has a hard time seeing other's perspectives.

Carlotta "Carly" Patin

A spoiled rich girl from Port of Jubilee and life long friend to Alyssa. She wanted her and Alyssa to attend Enchanted Rose in order to get rich hot boyfriends from RSA and NRC. After some convincing, Alyssa comes along for the ride. While can be ditzy, careless and selfish, she cares a lot about Alyssa and will do anything to help her out.

(As a side note, I wanted to make her a tanned-skinned blonde girl, but I couldn't find a model like that, so I went with that. Just imagine her as a blonde.)

Astrid Benum

She's a famous actress from the Wynderlands, who starred in plenty of queen bee roles, including some alongside Vil. Like the infamous Vil Schönheit, she has a reputation for being an icy bitch, but in reality she's loving, protective and fiercely loyal to those dear to her. However, she's also incredibly moody, secretive and insecure. Despite being Vil's ex, she is still on good terms with him and are still friends.

Who do you think are the best parents on the Isle-the parents who both A. care about their children, and B. actively care for them?

This is a super late answer! I want to post more but have been overthinking it so this has been sitting in my notes for quite some time!

We don’t know for certain about some villains depending on a few personality traits. I’ll go through my villain list (it’s quite lengthy) and analyse it. But that’s for later.

Below is from the top of my head. Without further ado:

Anastasia Tremaine- she definitely cares about her kids and her niblings (aka nephews and nieces). Yes, her redemption in Cinderella II is canon in mine. Like my account name says. I love the extended media (and try and have em fit. With tweaks and changes sometimes!)

Facilier seems to be a good dad from what we saw in the 3rd descendants movie! May differ in the school of secret books which I haven’t read yet.

Mozenrath. His being on this would surprise people (namely Al, Jaz and the gang. Some of the other isle people as well) He had an awful, evil tyrant (who even Jafar steered clear of, according to Iago) adopted father named Destane so he knows what it’s like to be mistreated.  Yes, Mo’s a villain kid too like Ana! He’d try to avoid it with his kid(s) and probably subconsciously feels bad for the  isle kids. He’d be a ‘my child can do no wrong’  and a ride-or-die parent.  He was quite negligent about his own health but has the knowledge to do better for his own kid(s).

He’s from the Aladdin tv show and is sassy, witty and a booksmart sorcerer villain who lacks common sense in his elaborate plans. Oh and he has a flying eel familiar, Xerxes (who is the best, loyal and deserves everything) The show itself is so cool, underrated and thorough! (Fun fact: the Aladdin franchise has a lot of lore!) In mine, he accidentally adopts a baby off the isle’s streets. There’s more to his tale of course, but more later. And I do plan on writing a book in the descendants verse bout it.

Sadira. (she’s also from the Aladdin tv show!) She grew up on the street of Agrabah and fell for the first kindness anyone showed her. Poor gal knows what it’s like to be wronged (the guards are so mean to the ‘street rats’ aka poor people) and she wanted love. She’d be a great mum and very hands-on! She knows what it takes to survive and can read so she may have educated herself on the nuances on taking care of others!

The Wicked Prince (Evil Queen’s brother, from the Snow White comics), Nasira (Jafar’s twin sister from an Aladdin game), and Lady Waltham (Clayton’s sister. From the Tarzan tv show) had a family-oriented streak in wanting to avenge their fallen sibling.

But it depends on what it stems from as a dead sibling is quite drastic. Would it translate into them being good parents? Who’s to say? I think Lady Waltham might be. Morgana (Ursula’s sister who appeared in ‘The little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea’)

Cecil De Vil (from 101 Dalmatians: The Series) is the most responsible De Vil adult  (though that’s not saying much sometimes). He becomes a responsible caretaker for the De Vil clan kids because Cruella and PH wouldn’t and Ivy’s parents and Hunter’s parents aren’t in the picture.

The redeemed villains (they’re wrongfully on the isle in mine. poor them but angsttttt) are generally great parents (or at least they try. Le Fou may be average but it depends! I don’t think he’s over being Gaston’s lackey and so may be less active with his kid)

As for TV recs... I don't know what to tell you bestie, I have no patience for streaming services these days 😓 I guess Bridgerton, especially Queen Charlotte, is always a safe, cozy romance show if you haven't watched it yet. I have three Turkish series recs that I'm living for (they're basically the only thing I watch)

1- Adim Farah: it's a romantic/ crime drama about a cleaning lady with an adorable immunocompromised child, who witnesses a murder and gets tangled up in mafia troubles. There's this criminal lord who falls in love with her. It's excellent.

2- Gülcemal: starts out as a dark (more like gray IMO) romance, strong Beauty and the Beast vibes. It's about a man who goes back to his hometown to take revenge on his evil mother, and ends up becoming obsessed with a woman who happens to be the evil mother's new protégé. Absolutely unhinged hate-to-love trope. I love this show so much.

3- Destan: a historical drama/ romance with great political intrigue. It tells the story of a warrior who fights for her tribe and steals from the unjust Khanate to give to the poor. Also, she has a very sweet story going on with one of the princes (aka the son of the man that killed her father). Akkiz is a god-tier badass female protagonist.

In fact, this is a big problem. The series does not give us answers about Mozenrath's past, except for the fact that he was a student who overthrew his teacher-ruler. We can assume anything. In fact, the human psyche is quite fragile, especially in childhood. If we assume that Moze got to Destane as a child, then there is a possibility that all kinds of violence affected him. After all, we haven't seen his naked body and can't know about possible scars. If you look at the behavior of grown-up children from dysfunctional families, then everything becomes clear. They are either closed or do not restrain emotions, sometimes both options. Anyway, I want to make our boy comfortable... He's an asshole, but still…

Yep! The human psyche is incredibly fragile in childhood due to children having a developing mentality, emotional state and regulation, along with them not exactly knowing how the world works. The vast majority of the learning process comes from experience, but there also has to be some sort of parental figure (biological or not) to guide them in the right direction.

So with that said, something definitely went astray with canon Mozenrath’s development. It’s pretty much safe to say that Destane was abusive towards him based on what we know about human psychology regarding abuse, and the fact that Mozenrath performed a coup against him, stole his throne, power, killed him and turned him into his undead slave. But since the series doesn’t say what happened, we’ll never know.

How I rp it to have happened was that he was verbally abused, beaten, starved, and tortured while also put under a lot of stress with too many assignments in a too little of a timeframe to be reasonable. All of which was to allow Destane to see if the trauma he went through ends up strengthening the magic he was born with, or if he needed to kill Mozenrath and start again with another student. It does end up strengthening his magic, so Destane moved onto the next part of his plan— which was to steal Mozenrath’s body so he could continue living (which is where my Moze got the idea to steal Aladdin’s body in Two to Tangle). Moze catches wind of what he intends on doing, and ends up killing him.

But yeah, my Moze is very angry. And doesn’t know how to handle other people showing him love, other than Xerxes. For him being an asshole is partly a defence mechanism, and partly because he thinks the world deserves it

Scream -Your character's favourite genre and film? Is there a specific reason for this? Or does it just fit their character?

He loves action films. He's such a slut for action movies. I think his favourite film franchise is the John Wick series! I think because Céf is such a physical unit, he just likes taking notes for those types of movies lol

A Nightmare On Elm Street - Describe or write a drabble about your oc's most memorable or reoccurring dream. Is there a meaning behind it?

Céfiro doesn't remember his dreams. And he knows it's for the best when he wakes up afraid and in a cold sweat. He suffers from night terrors. Sleeping was always something scary to him, and for a long time he'd try to avoid it. Meds, coffee, movement, anything to keep himself away to avoid that bottomless sense of fear that infested his every fibre when he awoke.

Friday the 13th -What's your oc's favourite summer activity? Why? How does it differ from your oc's favourite summer activity as a child?

Céfiro loved to swim as a child, before he and Araceli ran into their troubles. There was just something so freeing about the sea. Now as an adult, he likes beach volleyball but he rarely ventures into the sea. His favourite summer activity would be mountain biking. He could be out for hours along the trails.

Halloween -Does your oc like Halloween? What about their feelings on any associated holidays? Samhain, Ghost Festival, Fireworks Night to list a few. 

Céfiro never cared one way or another for Halloween. It just wasn't really big. And there was never really time to pay much attention to Dies Animarum. He likes how lively the house gets around that time though, it especially makes him feel at home with the Destan-Mixtios. He's even helped bake a birthday cake for Lumio once or twice. It's a time of love and celebration.

Saw - What 5 things would you use to trap your oc? Silly cartoon style or more seriously. What would someone need to lure your oc into a trap?

Just put any of his siblings in a cartoon box and stick trap and you've got him LMAO- The obvious answer is ofc his twin. But if one were to honestly just take Bonita, you'd catch him stumbling into a trap way too easily. He's very family forward. But also j tell him you have high quality weed too, that honestly might work.

The Collector - Does your oc collect anything? How do they feel about their collection or the collection of others? Why?

No, he doesn't. He never felt he could. He didn't really have the space and though he does now, he's kept that habit of not collecting things or keeping too many items. Surprisingly though, he loves to see what others collect. It tells him a lot about them, and it's very endearing to listen to others explain why they love what they do.

The Purge - Would your oc participate in a Purge like night? Are they murdering or are they just chilling? And if they wouldn't participate, how would they defend themself?

I think Céfiro would participate in the Purge. But either as a means of ensuring protection for Araceli or to get out pent up anger. After being adopted into the Destan-Mixtios and finding safety with them, he might participate but he'd go out with Alee as a sort of medic in like that one movie :)

do you have any suggestions for turkish fcs with period resources? specifically women?

besides the ones in my directory, off the top of my head (and periodfcnetwork's list) i can think of beren saat, farah zeynep abdullah, aslihan malbora, hatice sendil, asli orcan, beste kokdemir, hulya avsar, demet ozdemir, fahriye evcen, elcin sangu, esin varan, merve bolugur, tuba buyukustun and saadet aksoy. all of those have gif packs (however small or big they are).

if you mean women who have acted on period shows but have no gif packs/icons yet, i'd suggest any from the series in this post. my personal suggestions would be melike ipek yalova in magnificent century, ANYONE in magnificent century kosem (i wanted to say just one but im on my knees for oyku karayel, aslihan gurbuz, tulin ozen, nurgul yesilcay and ece cesmioglu), seray kaya in kurulus osman, ebru sahin in destan, gizem karaca in alparslan buyuk selcuklu and cemre gumeli in barbaroslar.
