April 2023 Update

Welcome to April, where for some reason all the releases are clustered at the end of the month.

A March release I missed was The Storyteller, a unique puzzle game about constructing the right narrative. From reviews, looks like it's a bit short but good fun.

Shadows of Doubt releases April 24 in early access. In the devlog it says there are no scripted mysteries to solve outside of the tutorial, so I'm confused but curious as to how a detective game can function that way. 💭

The Last Case of Benedict Fox comes out on April 27, from a team of 30 based in Poland. The game is extremely sleek and pretty, but the demo left me with doubts on the combat mechanics. It's coming to Game Pass as well.

Had a dream the other night that there was this new girl party member with big hair. Her main gimmick was that whenever she took damage, all enemies around her would take 1 damage.

There was also a new variation of the weight lifter enemy guy (forgot his name) that only did 1 damage for 2 action points, but had a diamond-shaped AoE.

As with most long weekends, I'm expecting/hoping most people slept through the first hour of the show—but I also think there was some particularly good music in that stretch, so hopefully you can re-listen soon. Теперь, когда период эксклюзивности прошел, она стала доступна в Steam - за около 600 рублей. Правда, русской локализации в этой, во многом повествовательной, игре нет, но повод учить языки ведь всегда должен быть.

А Desta - правда примечательная штука: вы бьетесь команда против команды в вышибалы, используя всяческие магические трюки и перемещаясь по плиточкам разных локаций. Важным штришком на полях со��тязаний внутри головы девочки-подростка является то, что ваши противники - это знакомые главной героине люди, с которыми она пытается найти общий язык, ясен перец, после жизненной травмы. Используя для защиты препятствия типа школьных скамеек, деревьев, автобусных остановок и садов и копя жизни, вы должны добиться победы в не самом большом количестве, но проработанных матчей, прокачав скиллы команды для того, чтобы встретиться с самыми опасными, эмоционально сложными, противниками.
