I've been feeling bad about my writing recently, especially about one of my Omori fics that I just hate and seriously want to delete
But I, like on a whim, did a search for "omori fanfic recs" and someone made a list of their top fifty favorite omori fics and mine was on there!
I mean I guess I got a lot of hateful comments while writing it so I think that soured my taste for my own fic. But if other people like it then I guess it can't be too terrible lol

During the brainstorming phase of Cryptid Sightings (so so long ago,) one concept I was fiddling with was demonic cryptids couldn't enter sunlight. They simply can't exist in such brightness due to their nature, except for, of course, Eclipse aka Sun while possessing a vessel. I even had a scene in mind of Moon cornering some poor sucker cryptid at the crack of dawn after said cryptid threatened/harmed Y/N. The cryptid taunted Moon by saying how he couldn't get them now—they were in the sunlight.
And Moon smiled wide, black goo seeping from between the faceplate's teeth as he stepped into the morning brightness, the vessel shifting to bright yellows and reds, and now bearing a terrible grin of ink and teeth.
"Oh, but I can, friend."

I can't quite remember which day it was, but one of my favorite Soulfire moments was the day after GGN was eliminated and the new members had to either go to Bolas or Soulfire. It's one of my favorites because Soulfire was losing so bad that day- like, they only had Bad and Bagi on for so long, then, if I remember correctly Fit, Tina, and most importantly Tubbo logged on to finish the missions and they pulled a last-minute win!! Bagi felt so dejected that day because it was only her and Bad alone and they couldn't even go to main base for a long time because of the bounty hunters, but they pulled through! Even Quackity joined their discord call at the end to confirm if they won, despite being busy earlier that day, and he sounded so happy when they told them they did!
Soulfire's greatest strength had always been the missions. It was their ability to cooperate with each other and work together, despite having so little people everyday that got them the win. Tina was the queen of the farms and the rest of the team would do their best to collect the stuff for them to submit- and hey, while we're here can we talk about how important it was that Tubbo was their Coach?
They were so low in the percentages that one day, but Tubbo merely being there changed the game in a couple of hours. He brought everyone's spirits and hopes back up again because he himself never lost hope. He never gave up, and that's one of the most valuable aspects that a team leader should have.
When you have nothing, and the world seems like it's against you, as long as you have hope- you can still rise up and achieve great things. A lot of people have brought up love and kindness as some important Soulfire traits, but hope was another thing that was always there, despite the trials they faced.

i do still think datv feels very … disconnected from the previous trilogy, and that parts of it don’t really Feel like dragon age to me. that being said, i’m still having a fun time
#txt#sophie plays datv#datv spoilers#i kind of went into the game expecting this though after reading reviews#i still think BioWare really failed with not having a world state import#datv definitely suffers from not having those little callbacks from previous games that made the others feel connected#i also agree with what a few people have said about the accents being all over the place for each region#i think all the new factions and regions and things aren’t helping either#because they’re new and don’t feel the same as previous games - and there’s no little threads of familiarity to help with that#and a lot of these places have been so hyped for 10+ years that they inevitably probably don’t feel as good as i expected them to#all that being said I am still having fun though#despite the hand-holdy storytelling and disconnectedness#I can just tell that datv won’t be my fave instalment in the series tho rip#oh another gripe i have is that rook really has no personal investment in the main storyline#like??? why should they care???#every previous protag has been intrinsically connected to what’s going on#rook just feels like a random picked off the street to save the world#it all feels a little impersonal to me but whatever

I really really *really* despite the “what women [alien and mysterious beings] want is hard to understand and–#impossible to decipher and more often than not they will say the exact opposite of what they mean” stereotype.#Like I hate it to an intimate extent.)#I quite like Kyouka's backstory!! I feel like she's the most fleshed out female character with a compelling character arc and personality.#I really like her. Lucy and Atsushi working as make-do parents (very largerly intended. More like siblings who are dating but that sounds–#even worse) was very cute. And I appreciate how the events seemed to set off Atsushi's own reflection on parenthood.#The same doesn't happen in the manga since the chapters are placed in a different order.#Overall this is just an episode that when I was reading the manga for the first time solidified my understanding that me and b/sd have#RADICALLY different views on the world. But now that after three years and having long come to terms with it.#I suppose it's just something that's there.#Ususal notes about the animation just for talks. The lack of budget really shows this episode and in the second half in particular.#It's especially noticeable in backgrounds that are just... Not the stunning backgrounds that usually make b/sd's anime strong point.#So in turn the lack of details comes off as twice as evident as it normally would :/#The whole Atsushi / Tanizaki exchange at the start of the chapter until the headmaster's identity is revealed is completely devoid–#of host which has me just?? What happened here??? A track slowly building up tension is an almost automatic choice I'm just like.#What happened. If it was a deliberate choice it was a very bad one in my humble opinion#On a more positive note I really like whoever drew the characters “background appearence” this episode eheh#(you know‚ the more stylized one when they're not on close up)#And the drawings at the end of the episode daz/atsu twilight scene were good. #project sekai#project sekai colorful stage#hatsune miku colorful stage#proseka#prosekai#colorful stage#minoharu#for quick context: burning hearth au is self explanatory#there's a fire#minori and toya are both severely injured by it (they were in the building it was their bakery btw)#and tsukasa couldn't be found despite also being in the building (he was taken)#haruka does her best to help her gf but she's afraid to lose her#because she knows the fire wasn't an accident it was meant to be a sign to her akito and rui#to give up haunting the abandoned opera house they spent time in and made a name for themselves in#and let it be bought by someone with money#sci-fi/fantasy minoharu however....#haruka has been living in captivity for years being used for entertainment because sirens are a popular source of it#minori is an angel who defies their laws and not only visits earth#but saves haruka (they aren't allowed to interfere with what happens on earth) and gives her a charm to remember her by#a feather and a clover (which she isn't allowed to give away)#because of this minori gets sentenced to death#and is thrown out of the sky after her wings are ripped off#she's already dead by the time she lands back on earth and later found by haruka#who had given up her life as a siren and became a witch#minori does get revived because of mizuki#but the damage is done and she has to relearn a lot of things#which haruka will make sure she can do comfortably

No more reading Space Marine novels just because they have Tau as antagonists. No matter how desperate for new Tau lore/action scenes I am.
It's just going to piss me off with the blatant favoritism. I'm not asking for every book to be the Tau version of Storm of Iron but ffs if Chaos can put up a damn good fight can the Tau be written with them putting up some damn resistance using their strengths for once?

so me and Sam FINALLY watched the last season of Capaldi's Who
and tell me how, after literally over a decade and for perhaps the first time in his fucking career, Steven Moffat wrote a not just tolerable but really actually good two-parter and fully stuck the landing. like the editing and pacing were still a bit off but the storyline was original, fun, interesting and emotionally invested, and most importantly, rather than ending on a damp fart or the most furious autofellatio in history, the final part didn't fumble it and ended in a way that felt emotionally satisfying and like it made sense for the characters. like the last time he successfully wrapped up a multiparter in a way that didn't feel cheap and hollowly disappointing to me was literally The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, and a) that was in 2005 and b) tbh The Doctor Dances is about a tenth as compelling and memorable as The Empty Child.
so after 12 years of either hackery or great ideas that fall apart in the second act, Steven Moffat writes what I would genuinely consider to be a memorable Good Doctor Who serial. it ends with bittersweet pathos, a solid closer for all the main characters, and sends Moffat's showrunning career out on a genuine high despite failing ratings and budget cuts (and the fact Doctor Who hasn't been consistently good since about 2009). good job Steve. with grudging respect I admit you pulled it out of the bag on this one.
wait what's this there's one more episode left? and it stars Mark Gatiss? and you literally spend the whole episode inexplicably just shitting all over the legacy of Doctor Who by inventing a version of the First Doctor that bears literally no resemblance to the character that William Hartnell actually played, just so you can spend the whole episode saying misogynistic things to run yourself off to how much more Totally Feminist your version was than the version you made up in your head of what Doctor Who was like in the 60s? and it added literally nothing to the season except to take all the wind out of the sails of the actually good finale you already wrote?
even when he writes a good episode this fucker still finds ways to disappoint me.

SEXY. written on it)#matt Lucas is genuinely surprising bc despite hating the man it's kind of impossible to not like Nardole by the end??#michelle gomez finally gets some room to get her Anthony Ainley on and be the Master PROPERLY#i was hooting and clapping my hands at the John Sim Master's dumb disguise#like the cast is GREAT#(and while he still can't shut the fuck up about her at least Moffat isn't shoving River fucking Song down my throat 24/7)#buuuuuuuut uhhhh the politics are. incoherent and the vibes are rancid in a lot of the episode plots.#they clearly WANT to do Social Commentary but weirdly keep bringing up colonialism and capitalism and then taking the side of the baddies?#how are you doing to do a piece about the British Empire colonising Mars with a posh villain and a whole comparison to the British Raj#then come down on the side of the British state? same with the ninth legion piece? and the zombie spacesuit one is fun#but it wraps up with 'and then they complained to upper management and capitalism ended forever the end'#uhhhhh in the one with the microbot colony again we conclude the Morally Correct Answer is colonialism#don't get me started on the monks plot which is a) literally just ripping off the Year That Never Was but without the emotional impact#but also b) has some really weird and genuinely fucked up ideas about both geopolitics and uhhhh consent????#so yeah the philosophical core is either incoherent or Fucking Horrendous in almost every episode#it's frequently derivative but tbh that's often to its benefit bc it vibes like trying to figure out what actually makes episodes memorable#and the budget is clearly cut to the bone bc the visual effects look worse than 2005 and the post edits are really weird and janky#like the pacing and ordering is weirdly off and a lot of the shot to shot transitions are awkward or confusing.#plus the sound design in the first few eps is. unhinged. it sounds like offbrand versions of standard stings it's all just Slightly Wrong#but for real i liked it more than I've liked any other season of Moffat Who. it's messy incoherent and often politically INFURIATING#but it has some actual heart and energy. and it feels like doctor who. and i would say moffat is spending like 10% as much time#wanking over his own past triumphs (and Alex Kingston)#and a lot more time like. trying to write something which works. he's not like successful 100% of the time. or even 50%.#but there's a lot more warmth and creativity. mackie capaldi and lucas have actual chemistry as a core cast#and i think it helps that everyone in the core cast is SO PSYCHED TO BE THERE. like it just wasn't a slog like all Moffat's other seasons.

#i was actually optimistic for bryan's title reign despite me worrying abt his health#bryan did said he liked to lie so maybe all that talk abt being overdue for surgery is just him working us#and i did got worked!#but then yknow. 48 days of holding the title#a one off match with nigel that has no real consequences#a super rushed bcc break up#wheeler yuta turning on to him after a grand total of three weeks standing at his side#and bryan lost to a guy who only agree to lose on when he got a concussion or when he squashed the guy thats gonna defeat him first#no job mox strikes again lol i guess hes still bummed he lost to a highschooler in a bjj tournament#fragile mind fragile bod- okay fuck im not that mean#im mostly annoyed over how good the concept of a bcc breakup and a bryan as champ could have been#and honestly i was curious over what mox is gonna do. like his motivation that bcc had gotten too soft is something! you can turn that into#somehing good! except the motivation was never explicitly dwelled upon#bryan and mox never have a face off where they battle each other philosophies#marina shafirs addition to mox's group was never really explained#and tk never let the story breathe#everything happens so fan its borderline nonsensical. like interesting idea horrible execution#everything is super fucking rushed. like i can not BELIEVE wheeler would turn in like several weeks#and the nigel bryan feud is such a wasted opportunity#it could have been a year worth of good moments of stories but it ended in a few months#i feel ripped off for getting invested and im not even paying for a fite subscription#sigh.... its hard when the thing you like can be good but it sucks ass#wrasslin

I find it very funny that my system for powers doesn't just go to the obvious ones. Like, technically speaking, even the ones that appear super normal do have them; whether they know it or not, they could get as cracked as the big boys if they wanted.
It's really just a matter of ever nurturing the power, knowingly or not.
Aka yes I have, in fact, humored the idea of how each and every one of my muses would get power boosts/powersets entirely.
