About that ''soulmates doesn't mean lovers in every universe'' ask, I just wanna say that ... I know that sometimes even romantic soulmates will end up as friends because of life circumstances and the relationship is not any less valid because of that.

But WHAT IF we live in the GOOD timeline? and they DO end up fullfilling that desitiny? We live in the ''We bought Smosh back'' timeline after all,... we just might be living in that one timeline where the desitned ''soulmates'' finally get their happy ending :)

            Y O U arrive at a waiting spot you don't ever recall seeing on your way home . . . it's sat in an awkward spot  ,  a spot you're sure you'd have noticed because you pass by it everyday  .  yet  ,  something compels you to stand beneath the singular streetlamp  ,  and you felt as if you needed to wait  .  what were you waiting for  ??  you stand there for a while  ,  and you notice other people begin lining up behind you  .  what were they waiting for  ??  there were so many people  ,  yet not a single person spoke  .  all you knew was that you had to WAIT  .               your eyes scan the various visages of the strangers that join you at the solitary street lamp  ,  it's hard to make out their features  ,  but you can see weariness  ,  frustration  ,  sadness  ,  grief  ,  desperation  ,  anger . . . all sort of emotions splayed across those faces  .  you wonder if you carried any of those emotions upon your visage . . . you wonder what compelled these strangers of varying ages to come here  .  you wanted to ask  ,  but before you can open your mouth  ,  you hear the distant rumble of a vehicle approaching  ,  and it's in that moment  ,  you see a GLIMPSE of hope flicker across everyone's visage  .             various buses and vehicles comes to a quiet halt . . . then all is still until someone comes scrambling towards the street lamp  ,   ❝  WELCOME TO WANLIDAO TRANSIT  ,  for those going the opposite direction  ,  please carefully cross the street to the other side  ,  ❞  they instruct  ,  and you watch as people shuffle towards the vehicle of choice  ,  and that's when you notice the ODD destinations they had upon the top  .  they're not . . . destinations  .              ❝  life is all about the journey and the desitnation  ,  my dear . . .  ❞  the conductor says  ,  a gentle smile upon their lips  ,   ❝  the destination doesn't always have to be a TANGIBLE idea . . . now  ,  where are you headed  ??  i can point you to the right vehicle  ,  ❞  their hand sweeps to the various buses and taxis  .

Okay, so Carter dies...

I'm not gonna lie, I never liked him when I watched him for the first time because his whole shtick was: "Oh, Chyera, remember how we are desitnated to be with each other. Okay, I'm sorry, I know I'm taking our bond for granted... but even if you don't love me, I will wait until you love me again."

But rewatching these two episodes with him again, I realize that there was some potential in his character, if only as someone who would guide Kendra through her past lives. And Aldrous Boardman was a good hook for both Kendra and Carter's character arc - their lives being much more than just them being reborn, finding each other, dying and being reborn again.

And you know, I hate how Hawkgirl's arc was reduced to her mourning Carter, falling for Ray, even settle down with him at some point... and then she learned that she was destinated for despair and heartache if she chooses other man than Carter.

But I will see how her character fairs over the years. Maybe there was something interesting they did with her character after all and I just don't remember it.
